Finished this raven skull knuckle ring in copper, with silver detailing, and set with a malachite cabochon. Finish is a little bit rough, but then we kept on fucking things up an needing to reposition joints. Which meant the copper got so heat oxidised that it ended up pitting. Still we managed to make the hinge mechanism with less trouble than anticipated and its a personal piece so we don't care about less than perfect finish.
Also, teeny tiny hammer got to do her thing

I was looking through my drafts and found this compilation of quotes I put together of Beatle girls talking about other Beatle girls. It's probably not totally comprehensive, but I thought some people might find it interesting.
Cyn + Mo
Far from being a shy little thing, Maureen was talkative, full of laughter and great fun: we all liked her enormously and thought she was good for Ringo.
All of the Beatles’ women got on with each other, but Maureen, who was one of the most down-to-earth, honest people I ever knew, became my closest friend. After their son Zak was born in September, seven months after the wedding, she and I used to go up to Knightsbridge to shop. Anthony would drop us off and we’d do the rounds of Harrods, Harvey Nichols and the designer shops in between, then stop for lunch in a smart little bistro. We’d buy cute little outfits for our sons and we were always on the lookout for something different or special for the men. We loved to surprise them with a psychedelic shirt, a piece of ethnic jewellery, or I would buy John a new plectrum for his guitar. John always loved prezzies, as he called them. No matter how small they were, he’d be delighted and I loved looking for things to surprise him. Much as Maureen and I enjoyed our outings, she always made sure she was at home for Ringo when he came in. Such was her devotion to him that she would stay up sometimes until four in the morning to greet him with a home-cooked meal. She wanted him to feel loved and cared for and, like me, she had been brought up in a family where women did the caring and nurturing while men provided. We often went over to their house and hung out with them, it was always party time at the Starkeys’. Ringo was gregarious and fun-loving, a clown and a joker with an infectious laugh. Together, he and Maureen made an irresistible double act, both extrovert and uninhibited. Ringo had installed a replica pub in their front room, which he called the Flying Cow. It had a counter and till, tankards, mirrored walls and even a pool table. He’d nip behind the bar to serve us all drinks, while Maureen supplied us with endless plates of food. It was a cosy, comfortable house with what felt like the ultimate luxury at the time: a TV – usually switched on – in every room. They had large grounds, in which Ringo had built in a go-kart track. He and John would race the go-karts or play pool while Maureen and I chatted over a cup of tea or took Zak and Julian for a walk. Ringo’s other passion was making his own short films. He had lots of equipment and loved to experiment, so after the nanny had taken over Zak and Julian we’d watch his latest movie. One was a fifteen-minute study of Maureen’s face. Innovative, perhaps, but not the most riveting entertainment.
Cynthia Lennon, John
Cyn + Jane
Jane was different from the girls Paul had been out with previously. The daughter of a psychiatrist father and a music-teacher mother, she was highly intelligent and cultured. She had a strong inner confidence, with a maturity and grace way beyond her years.
Paul stayed for a while. He told me that John was bringing Yoko to recording sessions, which he, George and Ringo hated. Paul had broken up with Jane Asher a couple of weeks after John had left me. I was sorry because I’d really liked Jane.
Cynthia Lennon, John
Cyn + Pattie
I liked Cynthia, but of all the Beatle wives and girlfriends I found her the most difficult to make friends with. She and I came from such different backgrounds; she had no career, she was a young mother, and we had no point of reference apart from our attachment to a Beatle. She wasn’t like my friends, who enjoyed a giggle and some fun: she was rather serious, and often, I thought, behaved more like John’s mother than his wife. I tended to leave her to her own devices but invited her to join me for shopping. I think she felt a bit out of her depth in the smart, sophisticated circles in which the Beatles were now moving in London. And I don’t think it helped that John thought I looked like Brigitte Bardot, or that I got on so well with him. There was a rumor—I don’t know where it came from—that John and I had an affair, and I suppose Cynthia may have believed there was something in it. It was completely untrue: we never had an affair. I wouldn’t have dreamed of it and neither, I am sure, would John.
Pattie Boyd, Wonderful Tonight: George Harrison, Eric Clapton, and Me
Meanwhile George, who had just turned twenty-one, had met a young model called Patti Boyd and fallen in love. Pattie had been given a part in A Hard Day's Night, playing a schoolgirl, because she had appeared in a successful crisps advertisement -- she was known as the Smith's Crisps girl. She was blonde, beautiful, and a sophisticated Londoner, like Jane Asher. But, like the rest of us Beatle girls, she was friendly, too, and easy to get on with.
Patti and I were becoming close friends. I admired her gorgeous figure and perfect fashion sense, and I think she enjoyed the company of someone who’d been with the Beatles from the beginning and knew the ropes.
Cynthia Lennon, John
"George has a lot with the others that I can never know about. Nobody, not even the wives, can break through it or even comprehend it. It did used to hurt me at first, as I slowly began to learn there was a part I could never be part of. Cyn talked to me about it."
[Pattie speaking] "It's not so bad these days, but it happens. Cyn was attacked not long ago in the street. Some girl kicked her in the legs and said she had to leave John alone, or else. Isn't it amazing, after all the years that John and Cyn have been married?"
[Pattie speaking] "Some people do understand. If they've been developing a lot themselves, growing up more, they know what it's all about. Cyn was very helpful at first, telling me what to do. That was when we thought of the boutique."
Cyn now and again would like to try something new, to have a job, perhaps use her art-college training in some way. She and Pattie, George's wife, did discuss the idea once of opening a boutique together in Esher, but it never came to anything.
Hunter Davies, The Beatles
Mo + Jane
I got to know Jane as well during that trip. While Paul and Richy were off horsing around, Jane and I chatted quite a bit. She’s such an intelligent person and I thought them quite an odd couple at first. Paul is such an assertive fellow (you know) he knows what he wants and Jane is that way too. I often wondered to meself how they ever stayed together as long as they did (you know).
Maureen interviewed by Maurice Devereux for Le Chroniqueur (July 1988)
Mo + Pattie
Again, she and I had little in common but she was jolly and friendly, more relaxed than Cynthia. We got on but I felt there was definitely a north-south divide among the wives and girlfriends. And I had the definite impression that the girls from the north felt they had a prior claim to “the boys.”
The final straw was his affair with Maureen Starr, Ringo’s wife. She was the last person I would have expected to stab me in the back, but she did.
Pattie Boyd, Wonderful Tonight: George Harrison, Eric Clapton, and Me
Pattie + Jane
Jane Asher was the girlfriend with whom I felt most at home, but because we both had heavy work commitments she was also the one I saw least. She came from a professional family, had grown up in London and, like me, had been privately educated. The family lived in Wimpole Street; her father was a psychiatrist and her mother a music teacher—her brother Peter became half of the pop duo Peter and Gordon. She was three years younger than me but we got on well and I’ve always been pleased to see her whenever we’ve met.
Pattie Boyd, Wonderful Tonight: George Harrison, Eric Clapton, and Me
BONUS: Mo on Linda + Yoko
I always thought [Yoko] strange. I mean she would always interrupt the lads when they were working or do strange things without any reason whatsoever. I was there when John brought the bed, and said something about wanting Yoko to be there. I asked Richy about this and he just shook his head in disbelief. I often wondered how they all put up with her. Even Richy would come home and tell me all these strange stories about her. He once told me about her moaning into John’s microphone while they were recording a song and how the two of them would make-out during takes. I always avoided her in the studio for those reasons. She was just too strange for me.
Q: What was it like to sit in the studio with John, Paul and George? A: It was like watching a couple of actors rehearsing a scene in a movie (laughs). I would sit there with a cup of coffee in my hand and watch them for a while or maybe gossip with Linda [McCartney] or Mal [Evans]. When I did watch them, I always thought to meself, so this is what he’s been doing for the last six years! (laughs) I sometimes felt like a fly on the wall, but I knew that I had to be the luckiest fly in the world. Pattie [Harrison] would sometimes be there, but she would always leave early.
Maureen interviewed by Maurice Devereux for Le Chroniqueur (July 1988)
Can't really find any proper quotes from Pattie about Yoko or Linda. She mentions both in her book without much judgment and there are pictures of her with both of them throughout the years so they probably got on okay. I don't think Jane has ever been in the same room as either Linda or Yoko. Same with Cyn and Linda. Cyn's thoughts on Yoko are probably well-established at this point.

LONGING ༉‧₊˚.
synopsis: reader misses zaros on their birthday! a sad fic
The ballroom is alive and thriving with guests, music is blaring and reverberating throughout the hall, rampant sound of laughter and revelry is dancing in the air, the smell of wine and strawberries is thick and inviting
it’s my birthday, but I am cooped up in this absurd corner, next to the fondue table, a glass of switchel in my hand, I would go for a more riveting drink, but I really shouldn’t have alcohol, it’s very easy for me to lose myself if I have too much, and I am determined to not give these people an unwanted show and fuel their zeal for drama and gossip.
I certainly don’t want Zaros to have any reason to laugh or look down on me……even if he isn’t here physically, news travels fast, and if I make a spectacle of myself, there’s no way he wouldn’t hear about it.
My mother, the Queen, gives a long speech in my honour, it’s warm and wholesome, and I certainly don’t deserve to be praised the way she does, she paints me in such a way that I seem tenfold the incredible and dutiful person I am, when that’s far from reality, I dread the day people of my kingdom realise that I’m a fraud, that I hide behind my intelligence and wit, that I haven’t the slightest clue of what I’m doing, this fear, it eats me alive, every single day.
I’m not exactly the best person you’ll ever come across, I know that, and I know if Zaros were here he’d remind of the same every five minutes, even on my birthday
Nobles come and go, bringing in gifts and fake smiles, giving me their half hearted good wishes, all my fair weather friends are here too, this entire ordeal feels more like a desperate attempt to prove who is more loyal and dutiful to the future ruler rather than a birthday party, it all feels so very disingenuous.
No matter how rocky things were between me and Zaros, he had always been a veritable person, one of the very few people who truly saw me for who I was, no matter how unpleasant the “real me” is…
I still remember my 17th birthday, right before everything went wrong, back when he still had some amount of love for me in his soul, he had given me a heart shaped necklace with my initials, in his handwriting, engraved on it, it was custom made for me, he told me that as long as I had that necklace, I would have a piece of him with me at all times
we weren’t always incredibly affectionate with each other, but when we were it was real and almost intoxicating…
I’ve had uncountable pieces of jewellery gifted to me in the past, but none have meant so much to me as that necklace, I have it locked away, safely, my heart still aches every single time I accidentally come across it in my closet
it’s a reminder of how much he really loved and cared for me, and how he’ll never love me the way he used to, ever again, not even if I prayed to the heavens with every single speck of hope and optimism my body can muster…
tears start bubbling in my eyes, “oh god, I don’t want to cry on my birthday, especially not because of him” I think to myself ,I hurry out of the ballroom, leading my way to the balcony before anyone can see me in this state.
I quickly hang on to the railing for support as I feel the sadness seep into my knees making them go weak, I want to breakdown, I want to scream and cry, I want to feel the warmth of his embrace once more, just one more time, it’s the only birthday wish no one in the land can grant me.
A huge pit of longing starts to form in my stomach, as if it’s a black hole ready to engulf my very being right here and now, no matter how hard I try to deny it, I can’t anymore, I miss him so much it hurts, I miss Zaros SO much, he was everything to me, no matter how much we brawled, no matter the poisonous words that spewed out of our mouths when we fought, I still loved him and I know he loved me.
I haven’t seen his face or heard his voice in almost 3 years, my eyes and ears are starved, everything that went down between us, I regret it every day.
A sharp shooting pain stabs me in the chest, as his stupidly charming smile flashes before my eyes, I took it for granted, I still remember the last time he smiled at me like that, teeth and all, warm and comforting, little did I know it’d be the last time I’d ever see it.
Our relationship was always complicated but the one thing that none of us could deny was that we could share anything we wanted with each other, no matter how much he disapproved of my actions, he knew he could be himself around me, he had a way of seeing through my every word, every movement , every look, he knew me better than anyone, even my own mother….even my own self, I had never felt so alive as I did when I was with him, now I feel like an empty shell of a person, existing in vain, bitter and incomplete.
My tired gaze travels outside the balcony, the city looks beautiful, fireworks are ablaze in the sky, I can hear the excitement and chatter of the people outside as they relish the beautiful sight with their loved ones, I haven’t gotten to hear much about Zaros since he left, but I do know that he’s in town, and I know that right now we share the same twilight sky, I don’t care for the expensive clothing, the jewels, the meaningless luxuries that I have received tonight, the only thing I truly want is for him to look up at the sky, and think of me, of every single smile, every thoughtful glance we shared, all the times our laughter echoed through the walls of this palace, and smile, even if it is for a split second. ༉‧₊˚.

New-York, June 1756
“Everything is in order. You can enter, Lady [y/f/n].”
The red coat handed you your invitation. As you entered the huge place, your eyes wandered around you, detailing every nook and cranny, taking in and memorising the layout of the area. The grand hall was indeed a spectacle of opulence. Crystal chandeliers sparkled above, casting a golden glow over the sea of masks that danced and mingled below. Laughter, the clinking of glasses, and the soft strains of violins filled the air, creating a scene that was far removed from the dangerous world you were familiar with.
Your mission tonight was simple: gather information, and your mentor was clear about your purpose here; not to engage at any costs. The Templars were holding this extravagant masquerade in the hopes of attracting allies from high society, and you had been sent by the Assassin Brotherhood with—of course, a fake name—to blend in, to listen, to learn. The gown you wore tonight was unlike anything you were used to—luxurious, intricate, and adorned with a mask that glittered in the candlelight. Your hair was gathered in a half bun and some golden hair clips adorned them. In order to pass for a member of high society, you even took the time to put on a jewellery set; a necklace, dangling earrings and a few bracelets and rings. But beneath the facade of wealth and elegance, your blade was hidden, strapped to your left thigh under your luxurious gown, ever ready. If I'd been born as a man, hiding it and having simple access to it would have been easier, but there's nothing more I can do in this puffy dress… you thought.
As you walked amongst the other attendees, getting as close as possible to people whose clothes meant something to you, such as high-ranked Templars, you noticed a very particular group of men at the other side of the hall. Among them were Colonel George Monro and Sir William Johnson, both members of the Colonial Rite of the Templar Order. Your eyes fell on their silhouettes with their recognisable clothes from beneath your own mask but quickly continued their search. And who else…
What you hadn't expected was to find him here.
Shay Cormac stood with the group of men, dressed sharply in a black tailcoat with accents of silver and red. His mask, a sleek black piece that covered half his face, did little to hide the sharpness of his features or the air of authority he carried. His eyes, however, were unmistakable. The same stormy brown eyes that had haunted your thoughts since the day he defected from the Brotherhood.
You hadn't seen him in years, but the memories were fresh, the betrayal still raw.
But there was one detail that made your blood run cold: the young man's eyes were already riveted on you. When has he ever noticed you before? Your heartbeat quickened and you finally looked away, turning to a passing servant. You picked up a glass of champagne as he passed by you and began to sip the golden liquid, your eyes frantically searching for a place to rest in order to pass for an innocent. Maybe it was just a coincidence... No, no, he's far too clever to think that I'm just a random young woman...
You risked looking back up at the group of men he was with, but he had already disappeared. Your breathing quickened and you turned away from his previous location towards a random group of people, just to pass for a guest sympathising with others. Your heart raced as you opened your senses; you knew he was coming for you and you couldn’t do anything but pray he hadn’t recognised you yet. This was supposed to be just another mission, a simple infiltration, but now everything felt different. Could you approach him without giving yourself away?
A voice behind you jolted you from your thoughts, soon followed by a delicate
"Would you care to dance?"
You freezed. A delicate palm soon rested on the small of your back and another one entered your field of vision from the right, at the level of your own right hand. Closing your eyes, you inhaled sharply before turning; you found Shay standing before you, his right hand still extended and a dangerous smile playing on his lips. Your heart skipped a beat once again at your inattentiveness. You needed to be more careful around him… The recognition in his eyes sent a chill down your spine. He definitely knew. He had seen through your disguise, just as you had seen through his.
But you couldn't afford to let him know the depth of your awareness, not here, not now.
"Of course," you replied, your voice steady despite the tension that coiled in your chest, giving away your champagne glass to a passing servant. You placed your right hand in his left, feeling the warmth of his grip, and he led you onto the dance floor.
The music swelled around you as Shay pulled you close, one hand resting firmly on your waist, the other holding your gloved hand in his. His touch was confident, and his movements were smooth as he guided you effortlessly through the steps of the waltz. The crowd around you faded into the background, your focus narrowing to the man before you.
"You've been watching me, [y/n]," Shay said softly, his lips barely moving as he leaned in. His tone was teasing, but there was an edge to it, a hidden challenge.
You met his gaze, your mask hiding the flash of defiance in your eyes. "I could say the same about you, Shay."
He chuckled, the sound low and dangerous. "It's been a long time, hasn't it?"
"Not long enough," you whispered with clenched teeth, your voice sharp despite the graceful steps of the dance.
Shay's grip on your waist tightened slightly, which made you tense, a silent acknowledgment of the tension between you. "You always did have a way with words. Tell me, are you here for pleasure, or are you working tonight?" You did not fail to notice his gaze sliding down your neck to the start of your cleavage, checking you out shamelessly.
Your cheeks flushed, feeling like a lamb trapped in the fangs of a wolf. You felt the heat of his breath as he spoke, the proximity making it difficult to keep your composure. Every instinct told you to draw your blade, to end this now, but the crowd was thick, and the consequences of a public confrontation were too great.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" you replied, your lips curving into a smile that didn't reach your eyes.
He twirled you effortlessly, the skirts of your gown swirling around you as you spun, and when you came back to him, his hand was lower, lingering just above the hidden blade at your thigh. He didn't touch it, but the threat was clear. He knew exactly where it was. Your blood ran cold at the thought that he had found your dagger.
"Careful," he murmured, tilting his head, his voice a soft warning. "This is a delicate dance we're doing. One misstep and it could get… messy."
From being riveted on his chest, your eyes looked back up into his own, the familiar storm clouds swirling with something darker, something more dangerous. "You think I'm afraid of a little mess?"
Shay's lips quivered into a smirk, and for a moment, you saw a glimmer of the man you once knew, the Assassin and friend who had fought beside you. But that man was gone, replaced by the Templar before you.
"You should be," he whispered, pulling you closer as the music slowed.
The world around you seemed to fall away, the crowd, the mission, the masks—all of it dissolved as the tension between you reached a boiling point. The weight of your shared history hung in the air, unspoken but palpable. You had fought side by side once, and had trusted him with your life. And then he had betrayed everything.
But here, in this moment, with his hand on your waist and your bodies moving in sync, the lines between enemy and ally blurred. You hated him, you were sure of that, but the way your heart pounded in your chest told a different story. There was something more, something you had never fully understood.
"Tell me, Shay," you said, your voice barely more than a breath as the music began to wind down. "Why did you do it? Why did you turn your back on us?"
Shay's expression darkened, the playful smirk fading as his eyes grew hard. "You wouldn't understand, [y/n]."
"Try me," you insisted, your grip on his hand tightening.
For a moment, he hesitated, his gaze searching yours. And then, just as the final note of the waltz echoed through the ballroom, he leaned in, his lips brushing against your ear.
"Because sometimes, the Brotherhood is wrong."
With those words, the music ended, and Shay released you, stepping back with a final, piercing look. He bowed slightly, a mockery of the formal dance, and then turned, disappearing into the crowd.
You stood there in the middle of the dance floor, watching him go back to his Templar associates. You were unable to move, your heart racing, and your mind spinning. His words echoed in your ears, and for the first time, you weren't sure where your loyalties truly lay.
As the night wore on, you realised that this masquerade was more than just a mission—it was the beginning of a far more dangerous game. One that you and Shay Cormac were destined to play, whether you liked it or not.
The evening continued around you, but it felt as though you were standing still. The swirling skirts, the clinking of glasses, the murmurs of conversation—they all faded into background noise as your mind raced with Shay’s parting words.
“Because sometimes, the Brotherhood is wrong.”
Your hand unconsciously grazed the hidden blade at your thigh, the familiar weight suddenly feeling heavy. Shay had betrayed everything you once stood for. He had walked away, abandoned the Creed, and joined the very enemies you had sworn to fight. And yet… there was a flicker of doubt creeping into your thoughts, a doubt you hadn’t allowed yourself to feel in years.
The Brotherhood had given you purpose, structure, a cause greater than yourself. But now, for the first time, you wondered if Shay’s defection wasn’t just a selfish act of betrayal. His eyes when he spoke had held something you hadn’t expected: conviction.
You shook your head, banishing the thought. No. I won’t question the Brotherhood. Not now, not because of him.
But that resolve felt brittle.
You caught a glimpse of Shay again through the crowd. He had made his way toward the far end of the ballroom, mingling with Templar officials, exchanging pleasantries. But his eyes kept darting back to you, just as yours did to him.
What was his game?
Your mission was still clear. Gather information. You weren’t here for personal matters. You couldn’t afford to let Shay’s presence distract you. But despite your attempts to stay focused, your thoughts kept wandering back to that dance, to his touch, to the way his breath had brushed against your ear when he whispered those final words.
Suddenly, a hand landed lightly on your shoulder, jolting you from your reverie.
“Care to join me for a drink, my lady?” The voice belonged to a man in a silver mask, a high-ranking Templar based on the insignia on his sleeve. His eyes were sharp, watching you with interest. It was clear he had noticed your distraction.
Forcing a smile, you nodded, reminding yourself of your mission. “Of course.”
As you followed him to a quieter corner of the room where the drinks were principally gathered, you could feel Shay’s gaze burning into your back, but you didn’t look back. You couldn’t. The Templar was speaking now, sharing something about the recent victories they’d secured in the colonies, but you weren’t really listening despite the purpose of your mission tonight. Your mind was still with Shay, turning over everything he had said—and everything he hadn’t in a way. After a few minutes of absent-mindedly drinking champagne and listening to the man recount his false prowess, you finally excused yourself from the conversation, your head buzzing with alcohol and of course the weight of your conflicting emotions. You were a little hot and needed air, away from all those rich folks.
You headed for the balcony overlooking the formal gardens of the period building. Stepping out onto the balcony, you took a deep breath of the cool night air, leaning against the marble railing.
It wasn’t long before you heard the sound of footsteps behind you. Opening your senses once again, you closed your eyes and you instantly knew who it was.
“You always did like your quiet moments,” came a familiar voice.
You didn’t turn around immediately, your hands tightening on the railing as Shay approached. You could feel his eyes boring into your back, or even your bum, and the tension rolling off him.
“I didn’t expect to see you again so soon,” you said, still facing the darkened city beyond. “You’ve made your point. Or was there something else you wanted to say?”
Shay didn’t reply immediately. Instead, he stepped beside you, his presence warm and solid in the cool night air. You could feel him watching you, studying you, but you refused to meet his gaze.
“Tell me,” he said finally, his voice low and measured, “do you truly believe in everything the Brotherhood teaches? Or do you just follow because that’s all you’ve ever known?”
The question hit harder than you expected. You had spent years training under the Creed, living by its rules, carrying out its missions without question. But standing here now, with Shay beside you, that certainty felt… shaky. He wasn’t just talking about betrayal; he was challenging everything you had built your life around.
“Why are you asking me this?” you shot back, turning towards him and leaning against the fence that was now behind you. The action made the dark-haired man's eyes slide towards your protruding chest, and they stopped there for a few seconds before returning to rest in your eyes. You frowned slightly, licking your lower lip, you decided to ignore his gaze and continued the conversation as if nothing had happened. “You’re the one who abandoned us. Who betrayed your brothers and sisters. You walked away, Shay. And now you want to question my loyalty?”
His jaw tightened, but his eyes never wavered. “I didn’t betray the Brotherhood. I saw the truth. The Assassins… they’re not as righteous as you think. They preach freedom, but they’re willing to sacrifice anyone who gets in their way.”
You inhaled sharply, your chest suddenly pressed against the corset of your dress. You opened your mouth to argue, but the words died on your lips. There was a certain fire in his eyes, a depth to his conviction that shook you. He wasn’t lying. He wasn’t manipulating you. He believed what he was saying.
“I followed the Creed because I believed in it, just like you do, [y/n],” seeing that you didn’t speak, Shay continued, his voice steady. “But I couldn’t ignore what I saw—the innocents we put at risk, the people we hurt for the sake of an ideal. The Brotherhood is supposed to protect people, not destroy them.”
You felt a pang of anger, but also of confusion. Shay wasn’t wrong about some of the darker sides of the Assassins’ work. You had seen it yourself—the collateral damage, the grey areas where right and wrong blurred.
But you had always trusted the Creed to guide you, to show you the path forward.
“And what about the Templars?” you countered. “They’re no saints either, Shay. You think they’re any better?”
“I don’t think they’re perfect,” Shay admitted. “But they offer something the Assassins never could—order, stability. A chance to build a world where people don’t have to live in fear of chaos.”
You clicked your tongue and turned away again, staring out at the city while shaking your head, your heart pounding in your chest. You couldn’t believe what he was saying. Part of you wanted to reject everything he was saying, to cling to the teachings of the Brotherhood. But another part of you—a part that had been growing ever since Shay’s defection—couldn’t ignore the doubts.
“Why are you telling me all of this?” you asked quietly, your lips quivering with sadness.
Shay’s silence was heavy before he finally spoke. “Because you deserve to know the truth. And because I don’t want to lose you to the same blindness that I was caught in for so long.”
His words were raw, unguarded. For a moment, you weren’t an Assassin and he wasn’t a Templar. You were just two people standing on the edge of something far bigger than either of you.
Your heart ached with the weight of it all—your history with Shay, your loyalty to the Brotherhood, and the undeniable pull you felt toward him. The night had begun as a mission, but it had become something far more dangerous. The real question was: what would you do now?
Slowly, you turned to face him a second time since you stepped on the balcony, the air between you charged with everything unsaid.
“What happens now, Shay?” you breathed, the question hanging heavy in the air.
Shay’s eyes held yours, the storm of emotions mirrored in his gaze. He stepped closer, his voice low but resolute. “Now, we decide what side of history we’re on. Together.”
The weight of Shay’s words lingered in the cool night air, settling between the two of you like an invisible barrier. His eyes held yours, intense and searching yet soft, as if he was trying to read the turmoil inside you, to understand the emotions you weren’t sure you could admit to yourself.
“Together?” you echoed, your voice softer than you intended.
Shay stepped even closer, his tall frame casting a shadow in the moonlight, towering over your gentle but firm and well-trained one. The tension between you shifted, no longer just the push and pull of conflicting loyalties. There was something else—something that had always been there, beneath the surface, but never acknowledged.
The air around you seemed to thicken as he closed the distance. His gloved hand reached up slowly, hesitating for a moment, before gently lifting your mask. The gesture made you swallow your saliva in order to get rid of the lump that was starting to form in your throat. The intricate piece slid off, exposing your face to the night’s cool breeze. His gaze softened as he studied you, no longer the dangerous man who had left the Brotherhood, but someone familiar—someone who had once meant more to you than just a fellow Assassin.
“I never wanted to lose you,” Shay murmured, his voice lower now, more intimate as his eyes gazed at your opened lips. “Even after everything, I never stopped thinking about you.”
His confession sent a jolt through you, and you had to look away, your heart pounding in your chest. The years of anger and betrayal clashed with the warmth that was blooming inside you now, a warmth you hadn’t felt since before Shay had turned his back on everything you believed in.
“Shay, we’re on opposite sides now,” you whispered, though even as you said it, the words felt hollow.
He didn’t back away. Instead, his hand moved to your chin, gently guiding your face back to meet his eyes. “Does it matter? Here, right now, do sides really matter?”
Your breath caught in your throat. This was dangerous—not just because of who he was, but because of what you felt for him, what you had always felt. His hand moved from your chin to cup your cheek, his touch surprisingly gentle for someone so dangerous, so conflicted.
“I couldn’t let you go then, [y/n],” he continued, his voice barely above a whisper. “And I can’t now.”
The vulnerability in his words, in his gaze, disarmed you completely. All the questions, the doubt, the anger—it melted away in the warmth of his touch. For so long, you had convinced yourself that you hated him, that what he had done was unforgivable. But now, standing here, feeling the heat radiating from him, you realised the truth: you had never stopped caring for him.
Your breath hitched as he leaned in closer, his lips just inches from yours. You could feel the heat of him, the steady rise and fall of his chest. Your heart pounded in rhythm with his, the magnetic pull between you undeniable.
“I’ve never stopped thinking about you either,” you admitted, your voice barely more than a breath as your gentle eyes switched from one to another of his and sometimes stopped on his chapped lips for no more than half a second to switch back to his eyes.
That was all the invitation he needed.
Shay closed the distance between you, his lips capturing yours in a kiss that was slow and deliberate, as though he wanted to savour every second. His hand on your cheek slid to the back of your neck, pulling you closer, deepening the kiss. The warmth of him, the way his lips moved against yours, sent a shiver down your spine. The world around you disappeared—the masquerade, the mission, the war between Assassins and Templars. None of it mattered. Not now.
Your hands found their way to his chest, feeling the solid strength beneath the fabric of his coat, and absent-mindedly stroked the Templar sigil on his torso. His other arm wrapped around your waist, pulling you flush against him, his body warm and solid against yours. The kiss deepened, the slow burn of passion igniting into something more urgent, more desperate. Years of unspoken tension, of denied feelings, seemed to pour into that kiss, both of you trying to make up for the time you had lost.
When you finally broke apart, both of you were breathing hard, your foreheads resting together as you tried to catch your breath. His thumb gently stroked the side of your neck, a soft, intimate gesture that made your heart race even faster.
“I don’t care about the sides anymore,” Shay whispered against your lips, his breath warm. “I care about you.”
His words sent a wave of emotion crashing through you. You knew it wasn’t that simple—nothing ever was in your world—but for this moment, it felt like it could be. Like the war, the betrayal, everything else could fall away, leaving just the two of you.
“I don’t know if we can ever go back,” you whispered, your voice shaky with emotion. “After everything that’s happened…”
Shay’s hand tightened around your waist, pulling you even closer. “Maybe we don’t need to go back. Maybe we can start something new.”
You directed your gaze to meet his own eyes, seeing the same conflict mirrored in his eyes—the pull of duty against the pull of his heart. But there was something else too: hope. Hope that maybe, just maybe, you could find a way forward together.
“I don’t know what happens next,” you admitted, chuckling softly, your fingers tracing the edge of his collar.
Shay leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. “Neither do I. But we’ll figure it out. Together.”
You closed your eyes, letting yourself savour the moment, the feel of him against you, the warmth of his embrace. For now, that was enough.
And maybe, just maybe, it could be enough for whatever came next.

Over-Exaggeration
Summary: Ace understood that over-exaggerating something is common. However, he would like to have whoever said dating Leona would be a pain to be burned at the stake for blasphemy.
OR
Ace and Leona are dating and reveal it to a few people. They're also disgustingly in love.
Note: This is a gift for @lummyzzz . I hope you're doing okay and to congratulate you on Lionheart
Other note: I am also doing comissions. All info is on my pinned.
If Ace had to say one thing that everyone was good at it would be over-exaggeration. And see, the thing is he gets it. It is so easy to embellish or to stretch out what truly happened and sometimes people cannot help but to add a little sparkle to their words. He understands, okay? Hell, he’s almost the kind of over-exaggeration when it comes to being in pain. So, he can forgive and understand why people might sometimes not tell the full truth and might be dramatic.
However, he would like to have whoever said dating Leona would be a pain to be burned at the stake for blasphemy. Because in all honesty, it is the best thing that’s happened to Ace.
Sure, dating the Lion can have its challenged. For one, he rarely ever texts back and when he does is the slowest and blandest texter. Quite frankly he can get more riveting conversation from talking to housewarden Riddle about Hedgehog maintenance. Also, the other has the tendency to be far too logical about things which can cause him to sometimes stream role through Ace’s feelings without taking a moment to think about them. Also, the other has a temper with a short handle on it.
However, Leona is also incredibly perceptive and is always able to make up for whenever he messes up. He also knows what to get Ace, what Ace likes and so much more even though he pretends he isn’t paying much attention to Ace when he’s rambling.
Leona is also extremely comfortable to snuggle, and surprisingly he is always up for cuddling, even when it doesn’t seem like it. He’ll just casually pull Ace into his lap or his bed, wrapping his arms around the younger and burying his face in Ace’s neck as he holds him as if he is the only one that matters.
And the dates! They vary based on the mood of the couple and whilst sometimes the other might not initially want to do something, they enjoy seeing the other happy. Like when Leona took Ace on a mini shopping spree even though he had no interest in being around all the noise, but seeing his boyfriend giddily find matching outfits and jewellery for them had been worth it. And Ace playing a game of chess with the other, simply because he enjoys seeing Leona so confidant and smart and simply being at ease with where he is.
Their relationship worked. All the way from Leona convincing Ace to grow out his hair by caring for it himself, to Ace indulging Leona’s wandering hands and possessive tendencies.
The problem was informing everyone. Especially after almost 6 months of dating.
Fuck.
******************************
“So Acey, what’s up? Why the nerves?” asked Cater, looking up from his phone to find Ace nervously fidgeting with his magical pen as he cast his eyes over Cater, Riddle and Trey one-by-one almost as if assessing which one is the biggest threat and danger.
‘Oh shit, what did he and deuce do now?” thought Cater mentally as he thought of ways to pacify Riddle, already watching as the other had crossed his arms and furrowed his eyebrows expectantly.
“Yes Ace, what is the matter? Did you do something?” asked Riddle, anger in his tone. Both Ace and Trey winced at the tone and Cater wondered, not for the first time, if this was the day that Trey was going to finally start developing grey hairs.
“Well technically, I didn’t do anything.” Ace tried to argue back but shrank back down when Riddle’s glare grew. Cater raised an eyebrow the reaction, because this was typically where Ace got even more jokey and sarcastic. “So, I just wanted to tell you three, because you are by dorm upperclassmen, and you deserve to know first before discovering it from an idiot who can’t keep their mouth shut.” Ace started rambling before a pointed cough from Trey caused him to pause and take a deep breath. “I am dating someone. In this school. And no, it isn’t a 2D portrait” Ace gave him a pointed look, as is sensing the joke that was about to come his way.
It was silent for a few seconds, before Riddle smiled brightly at Ace and gave a light chuckle. “Oh, is that it Ace?” he asked, shaking his head and getting up from his perch on the couch. “There was no need to be so nervous. We would never judge you for this.” He talked as he approached the younger, standing in front of him, smile relaxed. “So long as you are safe and happy, that is all the matters.” He patted the youngers shoulders.
Clearly, their reactions were not Ace was expecting because he stood there, jaw dropped as if someone told him that Riddle had told a particularly funny joke or that Deuce had gotten 100 on a written exam.
“Riddle is right.” Nodded Trey, smiling teasingly at the other.” There was no need to be so nervous.” The older got up and made his way to the kitchen with Riddle following him. “Now pie, anyone? I’m sure I have a few spares…” he trailed off, walking into the question with Riddle behind him.
That left only Cater and Ace in the room. Cater gave a smirk before swaggering over to Ace who already seemed to dread the conversation that was about to happen. “So Acey-pie?” cooed Cater, resting an arm on Ace’s shoulder, “Who on earth are you dating?” he asked the most vital question that seemed to slip from the other two’s mind, most likely just grateful that Ace hadn’t gotten into any major trouble. “There is no way you would be just scared of coming out to them. So, Who. Are. You. Dating?” asked Cater, punctuating every word with a finger to Ace’s chest.
Ace stared at the older wordlessly, before letting out an annoyed sigh, and ruffling his hair which Cater noticed had some considerable length to It compared to the previous hair style.
“And I thought I was gonna get away with it!” whined Ace, pouting at Cater.
“Nope!” giggled Cater, as he threw his arms fully over Ace’ shoulder and brought him closer. “So now, spill!”
Ace paused, as if almost contemplating if running was worth getting cornered later on before he sighed and turned around to fully face Cater. “It’s Leona.” He answered.
Cater froze. A part of him wanted to laugh it off as one big joke and teased Ace into telling him who he was actually dating but one look at Ace’s face made the words dry up his throat.
His eyes were wide and honest, almost scared as if sensing the incredulity that Cater had. Cater stared into Ace’s eyes for a moment, almost as if hoping to see if there was a sign of a lie but there was none. Instead, Cater threw him arms around Ace and gave him a tight hug. “Make sure you get that bag, Ace,” He whispered jokingly to the younger giving him a quick squeeze before letting go and going into the kitchen. “Good luck telling everyone else!” he called behind him, waving at Ace.
“Ace, who’s face had gone cherry red at Cater’s first sentence, immediately paled dramatically as he realised what’s going to be instore for him and Leona.
*******************************
“Hey crabby!” called out Floyd as he watched Ace dress quicker than the other has ever done before. “Whatchya doin’?” he asked.
“Getting changed?” replied Ace, slightly perplexed at the obvious question. He was already halfway dressed and now in the customary wite collared shirt and school pants, whilst everyone else was still taking their time, discussing the club session and improvements they can do to beat RSA.
“Duh!” snapped Floyd annoyed, crossing his arms at the tone. “Buy why on earth are you of all people getting changed so quick?” he asked, his mis-matched eyes furrowing in confusion before lighting up with teasing glee and loudly asking “Got a hot date?” asked Floyd, leaning into Ace’s personal space.
“Can’t a guy just wanna leave a locker room after a sweaty club session and get away from the smell?” asked Ace, pouting at getting asked such an embarrassing in front of everyone, who all seemed to latch onto the bait like eager sharks.
“I mean, that could explain why he tried so hard at today’s club session.” Slinked in Jamil, mocking smile on as he watched Ace jump a foot in the air at the sudden appearance. “Wanted to brag about becoming the new ‘star’ of the club?” he teased, enjoying the red on Ace’s face as he spluttered at the accusations. The rest of the club let out little titters at the red-heads reaction.
“I have no idea what either of you are talking about!” Ace huffed as he used one of the cherry clips gifted to him by Leona to clip back his hair. “1) I simply wanted to impress Vargas -sensei so I can have an excuse to skip out on the next PE lesson.” So, Leona can use him as on over-sized pillow. “2) Everyone here smells like ass, and I simply do not want to have to walk all the way back to my dorm with that lingering on me.” Also, Leona gets incredibly jealous when he smells other people on the redhead and Ace had just ordered a cool new top and he would like to wear it without his neck looking ravaged. “And 3) If I did have a date, it would be none of your concern.” Leona was planning on having Ruggie bring something form the monstro-lounge as a little mini date.”
At the end of his little mini tirade, he had finished stuffing his clothes into his bag and swung it over his shoulders. “Any questions?” he asked, turning around to give them a petty glare.
“Yeah, the hell did crabby mean when I smelt bad?” glared Floyd, rage clear as he stood up and advanced threateningly towards the younger. Ace cringed and cursed his big mouth and his emotional response. Thankfully however, his ticket out had spawned.
“Exactly as spikey said, you all smell like a barnyard.” They’re stood Leona, ears twitching in annoyance, leaning on the door frame for his boyfriend. “Don’t get mad at him for telling it how it is.” He flicked his tail at Ace in a come-hither motion. Ace eagerly did so, sidling up to his tall boyfriend and leaned up, wanting a kiss. Leona, reciprocated, to the shock of just about everyone in the room. He finished off the kiss with a quick nip which promised Ace more when they were safely back in Leona’s room before said boyfriend turned to address the room.
“Deodorant and anti-perspirants are fucking cheap and if Ruggie can afford them then you fuckers have no excuses.” He left them with this final message before wrapping an arm around Ace’s shoulder and guiding him out of the room and to Leona’s dorm room so they can have their date.
The basketball club stood there silent before a rare Igihide student turned to a Diasmonia student and held their hand out. “That’s 100 thaumarks, thank you very much.”
“What?” asked Floyd irritably, turning to glare at the two students.
Rare Igihide must either be dumb or far too excited about winning money to care about Floyd’s tone and now hightailing it out of there. “We had a bet to see whether Ace or Leona would get together prior to Leona leaving for his internship.”
“And what made you think Leona and Ace would be dating?” asked Jamil, folding his arms and raising an eyebrow.
“Ace is one of the few students that Leona allows to interrupt his naps, Ace has started to wear extremely expensive watches and jewellery. Leona has started to carry out more hair bands and Ace has also started to grow his hair out more. Ace has also been spotted wearing a few of Leona’s shirts, even the dorm shirt one time. Also, Ace has had multiple wounds on his neck which he plays off as mosquito bite, however if you look carefully at this bite and compare it to a lion’s mouth, they do look similar.” The Igihide student had taken out notebooks, all filled with evidence of Ace and Leona’s relationship, and they were standing in front of everyone holding the imagine of a lion’s mouth and a grainy picture of bite wound on Ace’s neck.
Everyone stood there silently as they watched the crazed student, all who were close to him, moving back a few steps as to not catch whatever crazy he had.
“Man, you’re even creepier than seagull.” Floyd told him, pulling a face at his peer. He grabbed his bag and stormed out of the club room, with many following suits, not wanting to be alone with the other student.
“You know.” Jamil began as he and Floyd walked side by side to the mirrors. “Polyamory is always a thing.” He said cryptically before walking to the mirror to take him to his dorm.
Floyd stared at the mirror, almost hoping to summon the snake back before he sighed and ruffed his hair. ‘Too many emotions for the day.’ He thought to himself.
*************&&&&&************
The first years all stared Ace down as he attempted to ignore them and focus on his cherry pie that Trey had baked him as an apology for Riddle’s earlier outburst.
Eventually, Sebek had finally lost his patience. “HUMAN!” he yelled loudly, attracting attention from all the poor people who happened to pass by.
“Idiot.” Replied Ace, as he ate another part of his apology pie. He isn’t gonna lie, hearing Sebek splutter over the insult was so far from his favourite memory of the other.
“Ace.” Began Epel, sitting down next to him and shooting the cherry pie a quick glare before turning soft eyes on him. “We’re sorry that we didn’t believe you about Leona and laughed at you when you said you were.” Apologised Epel, big eyes growing even wider. “Can you please forgive us?” asked Epel, leaning in closely.
“So long as you stop glaring at my pie as if killed your entire family.” Replied Ace pettily which caused Epel to let out a little snicker and punch him lightly on the shoulder. Ace finally looked up to the rest f his friends and was both shocked and pleased to see them seem genuinely remorseful.
“Leona gave me an earful when I got back to the dorm, and I really am sorry.” Ace couldn’t help but feel slightly bad, especially at the kicked puppy image that Jack was exuding. “I just thought that you would never go out with Leona because it didn’t seem like you two would get along and from what you told us about your ex, I just thought that you were in general not looking for a relationship.” Ace had to give it to the other, for as much as he tried to play the tough guy image, he can be incredibly sweet.
“I forgive you as well.” Sighed Ace and tried to not laugh as Jack’s tail began waggling excitedly.
“I believed you from the start!” declared Ortho and Ace smiled as he wrapped an arm around the younger’s shoulders. “I know you did.” He said, squeezing the other into his side, so far, his favourite first year.
“I APOLGISE FOR THE DISRESPECT I- “
“I GOT IT!” Interrupted Ace, absolutely not in the mood to put up with such foolishness any longer. “Sit down.” Ace demanded before turning to Deuce who immediately crashed into Ace. Ortho, thankfully, already sensing what was about to happen, jumped out of the way just in time and the rest of the friend group watched as Ace frantically attempted to comfort a near-crying Deuce.
“Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry-.” Apologised Deuce over an over. He had bene the last one to find out that Ace was dating Leona and that had come from an extremely loud screaming match between Ace and Riddle over Riddle finding out that Ace was in fact dating Leona. It had led to hurtful words coming from both sides with an eventual pie apology from Riddle, who seemed shameful of his actions. Clearly getting chewed out by both Trey and Cater had been the wake-up call for him.
“Okay I got it!” Yelled Ace, trying to not let out any pained noises as he tried to get used to the pain on his back from being tackled by his best friend. “I forgive you just let me up so I can finish my pie!”
And because all of his friends are assholes, not a single one attempted to help, instead they all just sat there laughing at him. Thankfully, they all hated cherry too much to eat his pie.
********************************
“You know, we could have just made out in the cafeteria to reveal everything.” Leona grumbled as he brushed Ace’s hair for him.
Ace gave him a non-committal hum and continued scrolling through his messages from people congratulating him on his relationship to still complete disbelief about his relationship with a prince. And then there was Azul trying to pressure him into having a date at the monstro lounge. Sigh. Businessmen and their schemes.
“You could have also made sure that Rook was turned into a sand sculpture.” Replied Ace sweetly as he tilted his head back, pouting his lips for a kiss. Leona allowed it and leaned it. They held the kiss for a few slow moments before Ace pulled back, eyes twinkling. “However, I must say watching Riddle-senpai beat him up with his staff for asking how we ‘mate’ was the best part of the week.” He grinned cheekily.
“Really?” asked Leona, raising an eyebrow at the freshmen. “Even better than when I took you to that dessert shop and let you pick out as many things as you want?”
“Yup.”
“Even better than when I got you than new watch and let you get it custom made.”
“Yup.”
“Even better than when I put you in front of my mirror and fu-.” The rest of Leona’s world were muffled as Ace sprang from his lap and turned around; face beat red as he glared at his boyfriend. Unfortunately, that glare had no affect and only caused Leona to let out a low laugh.
“Okay, no, but still. It was pretty great you have to admit.” Pouted Ace at getting teased.
“Can’t disagree.” Agreed Leona as he turned Ace around and finished doing his hair. When he finished, he planned several kisses on the back of Ace’s hair. “Let’s sleep now.” And it would have sounded like a demand if Leona were talking to anyone else.
“okay.” Ace turned around again and planted a kiss on Leona’s cheek before flopping down on the bed.
Leona joined him and cradled him in his arms. And with that, the happy couple fell asleep in each other’s arms.

Velvet ribbon necklaces and chokers
This is one of my favourite ways to make a necklace - extremely quick and simple but I think it looks beautiful. I use velvet ribbon but it would also work with satin ribbon and possibly lace, though that might not be sturdy enough. I personally don't like to use leather or faux leather because it can get very sweaty and uncomfortable, but you can absolutely use that too if you want! Craft shops also sell patterned or embroidered ribbon.
I've even done variants on this which were made from just a long strip of fabric which I hemmed along the edges.
In addition to the ribbon you will need rivets or eyelets, d-rings or o-rings, and heavy snap studs to fasten them.
The pendants in these photos came from various places: the flower cameo was thrifted, the wolfs cross was bought from some alternative shop I don't remember the name of decades ago, the leaf and the large ocean jasper came from an Etsy shop called Enchanted Creations (link here) and the ivy is Alchemy Gothic.
For whatever reason I decided I didn't like the necklaces they came on so I remade them. The pendant parts and chains were attached using jewellery pliers and either jump rings or links of the chain if it was large enough.
Then all you need to do is loop your ribbon through the d-rings and poke a hole through both layers (I have a leather punch I tend to use but you can also use scissors) then secure it with either a rivet or an eyelet. You can buy these online or in craft shops, they're usually very cheap, come in various colours of metal and have instructions for how to put them together. They're fairly self-explanatory - one half on each side of the fabric and hit them with a hammer a few times. If using rivets make sure you put the pieces on the correct sides.
You could also use screw on spikes. Anything that will keep the ends together will work - obviously you could sew them too, but this looks neater (than my hand sewing anyway!) and gives a bit of extra visual interest.
To get the right length of ribbon I just put it around my neck making sure to overlap the ends then add a couple of centimetres extra for the folds. If the ribbon is synthetic (most of the the time they will be) use a lighter to singe the ends slightly. This will cause it to melt a little and prevent fraying. Please be careful when doing this! You don't need to put the ribbon *in* the flame, just close enough to heat it.
For fastenings I always use heavy snap studs. These make the fastening very secure and neat looking - it will lay completely flat to the back of your neck.
These studs come in 4 parts.
Again, double over the ends of the ribbon, poke a hole through both layers, put the correct pieces of the fastening on each side and hit them with a hammer a few times. These can likewise be bought online and come with a tool and instructions for use. The most important thing with these is to make sure all parts are facing the right direction so you can close them properly.
Here are some brief instructions I found online for how to use them.
Again, you don't have to fasten them the way I do, whatever way suits you is fine. Even a safety pin would work!
This basic method can be used to make collars too, I did a cyber collar a while back (full post here)
As I said above you can use any kind of ribbon you like, patterned or plain, or even a long strip of fabric, that's what I did for this collar.
You could cover it with safety pins, buttons, embroidery, fabric paint, whatever you like!

I really hope this is your requests line
This is my first ever request and I hope it's cool with you. So it's just a fem!reader in where reader defends kiri and helps the boys fight ao'nung and his dudes and after the fight, kiri patches the reader up something like that and cuteness at the end hope this isn't too long 😭
thank you @themastaralex for a request! tw: blood. word count: 3035
small hands
The wood here is dry and smooth against your knees as you lean over the dock, splashing the sea water over your heated shoulders. The wood has begun to warp from your years of fishing; two circular dents about the size of your knees, and two more beside it similar to your feet - a sort of signature to this far-off, idyllic fishing spot you so favour. The day is hot; the sun is unforgiving with its heat, but the waves carry its rays to the shore, fracturing the light like one of Tsahik's crystals. You can feel the tickle of sweat at the parting of your hair, dripping down the nape of your neck. You rise, a sigh of resignation escaping from your lips as your back straightens with a pop. You pull at your net, the rope picking at the calluses of your roughened palms as you work out the knots and pluck it from the flaking wood that splinters the dock. Your shoulders have broadened over the years, muscle thickening as you threw the net, hauled the crates of fish, fought the bigger prey with a spear; your stature had begun to mimic your father's, and you wait in itchy anticipation for tattoos to adorn your arms. You imagine it now, looking into the shimmering horizon: mighty hunts beyond the reef, toughened skin marred with impressive scars and jewellery decorated with razored teeth. The net blossoms in the air as you toss it, the rope striking the water in an audible slap before it sinks below.
It was in your periphery, as you turned into the throw, that you spotted the Omatikayan girl floating in the shallow waters of an isolated piece of beach. She has done this often in the few days since the forest people arrived -- she lingers in observation, fawning over some mediocre bit of nature that you could not understand her fascination with. You supposed you had outgrown the wonder of the reef - but still, she watches the water carry the sand as if it were riveting, feet kicking out of the water. It seems so primitive.
A tugging at the net brought you back to your fishing. There is a relief in your shoulders as they roll and loosen as you pull at the rope, fighting against the fish. You whisper your gratitude to Eywa, plucking the fish from the net and tossing them into baskets. It was a cyclical duty, the repetition of which would have others your age moan and complain, but it was mindless enough; it is therapeutic to work with your hands and not think too hard about things. Hours could pass before you even realised.
The midday sun was considerably more tolerant. Once more you are on your knees, pawing at the water; it is cool against your skin, and your muscles ache for a weightless soak. Droplets run down your forearms, dance at the end of your elbows. You run a wetted hand across your sweaty face, and your ears curl toward the sound of sloppy footsteps to your right; Tonowari's son is whispering to a couple of other boys as they walk, snickering behind their hands and pointing to the distant shoreline. You mumble your annoyance under your breath, palming water into your face once more. Skxawng.
"Look at her", you hear him laugh, "what is she doing? These tree na'vi are wrong in the head."
Another boy - Rotxo, you think his name is, replies, "she is a freak."
This is not your business, you tell yourself; they are not your people, she is alien, she is not true Na'vi. You stand to pick up the net, ignoring the way your fingers tighten around the rope, whitening at the knuckles, ignoring the way your stomach churns at their words, at your own words. Your ears flicker toward her soft voice as she regards them in ignorance, "Hm? What did you say?"
'Freak', they laugh, pulling at her tail and grasping at her arms. The girl's ears are flat against her skull as she curls in on herself.
You throw the net; it is half-assed and fruitless. Your eyes are closed and your jaw is clenched. Beyond the noise of your grinding teeth you hear another set of footsteps, this time fast and weighted. "Stay away from my sister!" A boy growls, and you open your eyes with a defeated sigh: two more Omatikayan kids, baring their teeth at the gaggle of Metkayina boys. The one that throws the first punch is tall but lanky, and though he is fast he takes as many hits as he throws. The other's shoulders are as broad as your own; he turns solidly into his punches, balances his weight on his feet well. They will do fine enough, you had thought, before watching Rotxo drag one of the Omatikayan boys through the sand by his hairy tail.
The net has sunk to the sea floor, no fish ensnared. You hiss in frustration as the rope falls from your hand and into the water with a sad splash, and you break into a jog toward the boys.
Rotxo's taunt is swallowed up by a breathless grunt as your body hits his; he flails in the sand like a beached fish, mouth gaping incredulously. You face Ao'nung, heart beating with a sudden adrenaline, and your breathing stutters. "Just because you are the son of a clan leader does not mean you are entitled to treat others like this. A son of Tonowari would behave better." Ao'nung is almost foaming at the mouth; you feel the spittle hit your face as he hisses. "You father would be disappointed in you."
The adrenaline coursing through your body did little to prepare your face for Ao'nung's charged fist; your lip split with a heated sting, and his knuckle collided into your nose with a sickening crack. Your tongue was overwhelmed with the taste of iron, and the saltiness was not so dissimilar to the sea.
You tried to breathe through your nose. You choked on blood instead.
There was no thought of consequence as you reeled back your fist, knuckles popping and shoulders flexing as if you were about the throw a net deep into sea. There was an angry thudding at your temple, a tension that made your eyeballs bulge and teeth bite at your inner cheek. The skin splits as you bring your knuckle-white fist down onto Ao'nung's face, into his teeth. A mix of spit and blood leapt from his mouth, pooling at his chin. His lip was beginning to purple. "Tonowari will hear of this, Ao'nung!" You hiss, driving your fist into his shoulder, the both of you breathing hard. At the threat, Ao'nung begrudgingly resigned, eye twitching in bottled fury; he shoulders past you as Rotxo spits at your feet.
There is a tickle at your chest, a blossoming warmth; it alarms you, looking down, to see how much blood is dripping from your chin. You tentatively touch your face, pulling back at the sting of your lip and the deep ache at the ridge of your nose. Your fingers are bloodied.
You turn to leave, breath held as to not choke on your own blood in front of the Omatikayan kids; she catches your eye, then. The forest girl. Her five fingers reach out toward you, muttering something shaky and incoherent, but you pull away from her touch. A tiredness settles within you, and you pinch your bleeding nose as you retreat to the docks.
You sit once more at the edge, reserving a moment to compose yourself before seeking out your net, trying to stifle the anxiety that begins to bubble in your stomach.
You ease yourself slowly into the water, small waves kneading your stomach and blood melting into ripples of orange. This time, you anticipate the pain: the sea water laps up the blood and cleans your wounds; instinctively you flex your hand as your knuckles sting, cursing as a sharp, burning pain shoots up your wrist.
You allow yourself to float, kicking off a piece of choral; you guard your hand, holding it close to your chest as the water carries you. It is seamless, weightless; the blues of the sky and the sea melt into one another. For a moment, you can forget the chastisement from your parents, the reprimands - certain to happen - and forget about your cuts and bruises. For now, there is only you, the water, and Eywa. It feels like home; the cool water at your back and the sun that kisses your face, like a fire on a rainy day, the smell of salt and distant petrichor.
You breathe in, filling your lungs with that fresh, chilly sea breeze, and arch backward into the water to find the net. You reach for it with your better hand, gathering the rope in your arms before kicking off the seabed.
She watches you break the surface, the curls of your dark hair contorting in the sun's warmth as you blink away the water. Her eyes explore you like they do the sand, the sea, the little fish that swim at her feet and pulse beneath the eclipse; it is all wonder and delicate curiosity. She has cocooned herself within her leafy shoal, gripping at the seams as if to hide herself. That look of guilt and nervousness lingers on her face still. Her five fingers pick at themselves.
Your own eyes are strong and unblinking, unwavering teal; you watch her as if to understand a foreign fish or a new knot that your mother teaches you. But her gaze remains just as soft, just as innocent. "Kiri," A gentle voice says, "come."
Tossing the net atop the dock, you find purchase on the thick column of wood buried deep into the seabed, sand churning as you climb it. Pain blossoms at your wrist again as you lift your weight, and you instinctively hiss. The girl draws in a sharp breath as she watches, and a taller woman emerges from a nearby marui pod to steer her inside, speaking to her softly. She huffs in frustration as she breaks your gaze.
You sit on the dock's edge a moment longer, testing the limitations of your wrist. "Kiri," you repeat, swirling the word around your mouth with your tongue, as if to see how the name would taste.
The flavour of it is polluted by the lingering zest of blood.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The ocean disappears into the darkness, and the setting sun makes the distant islands burn a deep red in the horizon. The gentle sea breeze tickles at her cheek, and there is little warmth other than the sombre flicker of mounted firelight. Kiri pulls the shoal tighter around her shoulders. Her five-toed feet are familiar with the lubricous and barky terrain of the forest, but the splintered and sand-sprinkled slabbed wood of the docks rasps at her soft feet. She picks at the twine of her belt as she walks its length, anxiously readjusting the medicine pouch at her side as her feet begin to blister.
You had looked different from afar, Kiri thinks, as you worked through the knots of your net and waded through the shallow waters with a pointed spear. The Metkayina were broader, their bones strong and limbs finned; your thickened muscle and robust stature were admirable - you looked as much a warrior as you did a fisherwoman. And though your jaw was strong and hard-set, your cheek was soft and your chin was dimpled; your patterned turquoise skin reminded her of the fractured light that danced on the sand that she so loved to observe.
The gentle image of your skin dwindled away at the distant sound of grinding wood. Kiri stopped abruptly at your presence, toe stubbing the dock at the sudden flush of nervousness. The muscle in your thigh braced as you crouched for the weighted crate of fish; the torchlight accentuated the muscle on your back and highlighted the veins that ran along your forearm, and kissed your skin with a healthy glow. Kiri hesitated before she approached, coughing softly for your attention. Her heart had never beaten as fast, and she chews at her bottom lip in anxiety. She unclips the pouch from her belt and holds it to her chest as you turn. Kiri's gaze focuses on the dark bruise at your lip, stark and ugly against your skin, instead of your own eyes. You sigh before she has even said anything.
"Come," you say, setting down the crate with a thud before you rise, beckoning for her to follow as you walk the dock. The sounds of the evening clatter and murmuring melt away into the darkness; it is quieter here, and the tension in Kiri's shoulders lessens somewhat at the sight of the glowing choral and bioluminescent fish. Still, she cannot meet your gaze.
"I have something from home to help with your face," Kiri whispers, opening the pouch and gathering the leaves, roots and vials into her hands, holding them out for you to see. She can feel a heat in her cheeks as you inspect with your forefinger warily. Kiri notices the rudimentary bandage around your injured wrist, and a lump forms in her throat, mottled in guilt. You breathe deeply, and your ankles pop as you lower yourself to settle at the dock's edge. The gentle evening waves lick at your feet, and you extend a hand in invitation when Kiri hesitates to join you.
"Show me your forest medicine." Perhaps it was because the ice had been broken, perhaps it was because you had finally spoken to her, perhaps it was because it was now just the two of you, perhaps it was simply because she was passionate about medicine -- Kiri could not decide, but she smiled. She sat facing your left, her legs crossed as she settled her trinkets beside her on the worn wood. Kiri displayed them perfectly in line, from least useful to most, bringing them up for you to see as she softly chattered. She looks at you in an excitement she hopes does not translate into childishness. Sometimes you entertain her with an interested hum or an ignorant but sincere question:
"No, no. This is far better. It has similar healing properties but it stings significantly less. I do not usually have much of it because Lo'ak always gets himself into trouble, and Tuk scrapes her knees a lot."
Your laugh is lovelier than Kiri had predicted. It is soft and comes easily from the throat; it feels like a tender kiss to the cheek. She looks up from the paste she is kneading between her fingers and into your gentle gaze. "May I?" Kiri whispers, and though you eye it warily, you nod. She is gentle as she thumbs your lower lip, mindlessly reaching out with her spare hand to tenderly cup your cheek for purchase. Her touch lingers at the softness of your skin, and she licks at her dry lips beneath your pointed gaze, throat darkening in a blush.
"Thank you, Kiri," you murmur, a shadow of a smirk pulling at your lips. Her ears flutter at the sound of her name, and they fold when she decides she likes it. The remaining paste is wiped onto a piece of dried tree bark and she pockets it for later; she washes her hands in the cold sea water, and dips her own toes in to imitate you, facing the dark expanse of the ocean.
"I should be the one thanking you," Kiri laughs breathily, swallowing around the lump in her throat. She watches you lick at your lip in her periphery, pretending not to notice. Her ears fold once more. Your face contorts in disgust at the grassy taste of the paste. "I am sorry," Kiri whispers, gripping at the wooded edge of the dock, jaw tense, "it is my fault that you are hurt." You gently nudge at her side, craning your head to try and catch her eyes, but she stares miserably at the small fish disturbing the sand below.
"Do not apologise," you say firmly, resting your hand atop the younger girl's knee; your touch is coarse, yet warm and tender, and your three strong fingers are large enough to wrap around her leg. A soft gasp escapes her lips. She wonders what her hand would feel like in your own. "That skxawng had it coming. You had done nothing wrong. Tonowari will hear of his son's behaviour, I promise." Kiri wonders what good it will do since her father wants to kiss at the chieftain's finned feet, but she appreciates the sentiment nevertheless.
You rise, and mindlessly she begins to do the same, wanting to follow. "Come", you say, voice softer than before, reaching out a hand for her to take. You whisper her name when she hesitates, and Kiri feels as if she could melt into a puddle. "I must show you the shore in the dark. When the waves break on the sand, there is light - a blue glow. You must see it." Her hands are smaller in yours, silky and delicate, smudged with green forest medicine. Your tender grip makes her stomach flutter, a sensation new and odd to describe, and she lets you pull her gently along the dock and onto the beach, gently thumbing your scabbing knuckles. The sand is cold and it tickles her feet, and she giggles at the feeling. You look back to smile at her, skin aglow in the dark and curled hair dancing in the night's wind, and she returns it in earnest with a toothy grin.
You tell her your name as you walk, and Kiri repeats it delicately as if it were as natural as the waves kissing the sand; it felt comfortable on her tongue, and sounded idyllic in her voice. The shoal loosens around her shoulders as she laughs and stumbles in the sand, and she looks at her hand in yours in such an adoration it almost frightens her. The night is beautiful, she thinks, you are beautiful, and it feels so beautiful to be alive.

Jaheira stood by the grand window, her back to the room filled with laughing nobles and finely dressed sycophants. The soft fabric of her gown felt foreign against her skin, like she was playing a part in a play she never wanted to attend, although she knew it was necessary. In her hand, she swirled the wine in her cup probably her tenth glass tonight, though it barely dulled the disdain bubbling under her blasé exterior.
Her eyes drifted over the city beyond, ignoring the gilded spectacle behind her. She took a sip, wishing for something with a bit more bite than the diluted wine that flowed so freely at Gortash’s coronation. She hadn’t mingled with nobility since Abdel Adrian’s passing, and she was better off that way.
Another sip. Another swirl of the glass. If anyone cared to approach her, they’d see nothing but quiet detachment, an illusion that concealed how deeply she loathed every minute of this event and all the people it conveyed.
Jaheira downed the rest of her wine as she overheard the light, playful chatter from a nearby group. She had been half-listening, lost in her own thoughts, until...
“...something something... Lady Mizora...”
Two words cut through the haze of alcohol and boredom.
Her head snapped toward the sound before she could stop herself, the movement a bit too sharp — blame it on the wine, or perhaps the sheer absurdity of what she’d just heard. Jaheira, normally more controlled, found herself staring, incredulous.
There, mingling among the nobility as if she belonged, was Mizora. The devil hadn’t even bothered to change too much — not a single hair out of place, only what Jaheira could only deem as the most low-effort disguise to hide her true nature. Mizora played her role with flawless elegance, smiling and laughing lightly with the group, as if she were just another aristocrat.
Jaheira watched as the nobles around Mizora began to drift away, their laughter fading as they moved on to the next conversation. She seized the opportunity, casually strolling toward the devil while fetching another glass of wine from a passing waiter.
“Really? ‘Lady Mizora’?” Jaheira huffed, equal parts amused and incredulous. She considered making a joke, but the situation spoke for itself. “Subtle,” she muttered, shaking her head.
"All this power ... wasted on parties."
Her ladyship Zariel's words echoed in her head as Mizora mingled with the nobles of Baldur's Gate. Enver Gortasch had shied no cost for his coronation. Now that he had been named Grand Duke of Baldur's Gate, the same age-old race began. Who of the noble merchants could get his favour the quickest? Who could maintain the grip on their power or better yet expand upon it?
Crystal chandeliers reflected the light of a hundred candles, held in golden pedestals and braziers. The air was heavy with the scents of perfumes - vanilla, cinnamon, rose water, lilies and orchids -, the smell of roast suckling pig, baked potatoes, and the heavy aroma of wines and spirits. The nobles were creating a spectacle of colour, each one trying to outdo themselves in their grandeur. Silk and satin fought for competition, pearls, gold rings and jewellery tried to outshimmer and outshine each other. High elves rubbed elbows with men, dwarfs had to dodge servants to not trip others up; and they all sweat under the cold, calculating watch of the Steelwatchers.
Mizora handled the sea of colourful outfits and everchanging faces with the cold calculus of an experienced captain. She kept a riveting smile on her face, nodded and gestured lively at the appropriate moments, and even released the occasional chuckle. All the while, the Cambion was on the hunt for another gullible soul, she could make a deal with. These balls after coronations were awfully hectic affairs and the fear of losing in importance could easily drive people to her.
This feast, though, was different than her usual prowling grounds. It had not taken long for the Cambion to realise that some of her pet's playmates had infiltrated the place, dressed in the finest clothing, they had been able to afford. She could not spot Wyll among them, even with the aiding pry of the sending stone. His lack of presence was unsurprising - You could hardly disguise a pair of large, curved horns, sprouting from your temple.
Being greeted by Jaheira after a group of nobles dispersed, Mizora smiled warmly, her eyes sparkling with surprise. She raised her wine glass in a toast and a greeting. As Jaheira said how being called 'Lady Mizora' was not what you would call subtle, the Cambion replied: "People see what they want to see. When presented with multiple theories on one issue, you mortals prefer the easiest one. In other words, my claiming to be noble is much easier to pass off than these morons even entertaining the idea that they are speaking with a Cambion. The latter would be a good way to drive yourself crazy, don't you think?"
She took a sip of the wine. The drink was too full-bodied, the note was sticky sweet and any spice blend was lost in the added sugar. Mizora frowned, smacking her tongue against the roof of her mouth. Chasing the godawful aftertaste away, she turned towards Jaheira and said: "As little as I am invited here, what brings you here? Not just you, but Gale, Astarion and Shadowheart as well. Are you playing saboteur, darling?"

The Merchant of Wellington - a fashion ramble by u/Mickleborough
The Merchant of Wellington - a fashion ramble The world’s abuzz with the news that Meghan wore a (gasp) backless dress at a Sentebale dinner after Harry played his rigged game at the National Polo Centre in Wellington, Florida.Baby got backI don’t know why she swallowed that fly…Props to Meghan for finding the best angle to show off her ‘Hudson’ dress by unknown Australian label St Agni - completely hidden. (Antipodean Sinners to correct me if St Agni‘s worn by the best people.)Miracle of the HudsonImagine what the front would’ve looked like on Meghan:When asymmetric decides halfway to become halter neck. It looks like a wonky apron you’d wear to make American Rivetted Orthodontia strawberry jum.The back‘s quite…interesting.Look back in perplexity. The aim seems to be to look as if you’ve wearing only a skirt. Titillating! This means the front’s like a large bib. But St Agni’s paid attention to detail: little straps to prevent side boob! Function, not fashion - but as long as side boobs aren’t visible, elegance probably isn’t a concern. And we’ll overlook the lumpy neck halter.Personally I think glimpses of flesh is sexier - hint, not broadcast. Here’s an example:Seen at the London premiere of the James Bond film Spectre in 2015Slow boat from ChinaMeghan’s dress is definitely mid-priced at £350 / $435 / €406. Taking a leave from the Princess of Wales’s book; finance issues; trying to appear relatable; promoting a freebie? Can’t imagine Meghan voluntarily buying a dress of this origin:lMeghan clearly chooses not to wear Dior couture - costing around £69,000 / $85,000 / €80,000 apiece - but prefers to support the Chinese clothing industry. St Agni Code of Conduct indeed. NB Sh supposedly wore vintage Dior costume jewellery earrings. So - hit or miss?An observation This photo of Meghan in her Heidi Merrick halter neck reminds me of a poor man’s Leeloo*.Signature crease alert. Not that bloody Love bracelet again. My friend has one - takes it off every night, so it can be done.* Leeloo:Milla Jovovich in the film The Fifth Element. Time for Gifts! Minerva hummed idly as she presents Isabelle with a necklace alongside a rather stylish bracelet. She also got her some perfumes that smell of fruits, like peaches and strawberries! For Elise, Karma got her some adorable and well-sized PJs that look very cute! She also got her a vast collection of Belgian Chocolates too! Goat!Sonia, wanting to impress Toriel, had made her a card and further more took the charge to make the Christmas feast for them both to enjoy! A gift of more action than not but one she felt properly pampered her beloved. Natsuki got Sayori a collection of specially made cupcakes and chocolate cake. As something more permeant, she got her a plushie from an anime she knew the peach-haired girl liked! Alongside all that, Christmas would be spent together too! Rivet, despite being aware this was not blog for Lailani, was still eager and thus is here with sunset-coloured Muumuu that would allow the girl something relaxing and flowing to rest in. A-and grow in. Justine and Caroline, plump wardens as they were, huffed as they presented Makoto with their gift. It was a mere collection of chocolate. Nothing grand but certainly something surprising from them. Haru would be here to present Ann with a bunch of new clothing, feeding equipment and a Christmas Buffet that would be fed into this fattening model! Leliana wasn't sure what to get the Dwarf so she got her a new large drinking stein and a new set of comfortable boots! Mahiru handed over to Hiyoko a collection of international gummy sweets and a photo album that contained pictures of her and the spoiled Empress over the last year. How sweet~ Sijo got Moeka some new clothing given the shut-in nature to outgrow and wear her clothing until dirty. She also got her a new phone and some collectibles. Fluttershy got Rarity an adorable hat she felt the other would just adore along with some Spa day tickets for them both, since the holiday season was so busy, they needed to relax. In another timeline, Twilight would also get Rarity a collection of new jewellery using a variety of gems to match the girl's variety of fashion!
"Ahh~! Miss Minerva! This is fantastic! I'll always wear them!" Isabelle is over the moon with her gifts, getting a preview of her perfumes and adorning her chunky self with her boss's gifts while her tail breaks new records in wagging speed! -
"Oh wow! These are DELICIOUS! And how did you know I needed new nightgowns? Is it because I'm really stretching my old ones~? Ehehe!" Elise couldn't help but stuff her chubby cheeks full of her dragon girlfriend's offerings while she marveled at how comfy these new pajamas were~! -
"My dear... my sweetest Sonia. Come here and let me hold you for this... I'm sure its all very delicious and this old goat positively adores you for the lengths you've gone to..." Sonia would be embraced by the warm goat momma, her soft fur and abundant fat making them the perfect cuddlebug this season~
-
"Natsuki these are amazing! AH I'm gonna cuddle the stuffing out of you, I love you so much!" Sayori could hardly contain herself, hugging the plushie and her plush girlfriend both as hard as she could as she imagined how perfect this break would be with her! -
"Y-You really got something this nice for me...? Ahh... T-Thank you! I can't believe it... uhm... I think its high time I did this... close your eyes." And so the chubby polynesian sweetheart would take Rivet's hands and smooch her on the lips, only to hide her blushing cheeks and retreat back, giggling. "W-We've been dating for a while... you're so sweet, I figured you really deserved it!" -
"I-I... thank you! I can't say I was... expecting this. Thank you both. Uhm... its funny, I was actually 'just' craving some... so this was perfect!" While her... 'arrangement' with the twins was certainly strange, affection and care could be seen between all of them.
-
"God Haru... I-I'm gonna be able to fit in those after right?... R-Right?" Despite Ann's visible worry, she wouldn't have Haru's goft any other way. Willingly submitting to the feast presented and all the fun new ways her feeder girlfriend could deliver it...
-
Lady Aeducan was quite pleased with her surface wife's gifts, a girl could never have enough boots 'or' steins. And drinking out of this one would make the ale all the better~ -
Her shortstack slob would be happy as could be to go over her gluttonous journey while enjoying every little morsel of sugar her photographer girlfriend got her. An empress needed plenty! -
"... F-For... for me...?" She hardly expected any gifts, let alone so many. Being with Sijo was gift enough... and now she's all teary eyed. Many hugs and quiet admissions of love and loyalty from the ginger tubster to her huge assed lover. -
"Fluttershy my sweet this is a lovely gift, and I wouldn't dream of a spa day without you! After all, everything is so much better with you by my side, darling~!"
-
" These jewels dear... they're exemplary! Just like the love you have for me. And the love I hope to reciprocate with every bit of pampering I have for you tonight!" And with that, many a wonderful gift was recieved with love~! Thanks a bunch friend for our ships and this ask

copper celtic cross pt 2
Using some copper wire, a drill and a vice I was able to twist the wire into a sort of swine. Using my paper circle template as a guid I manipulated the copper weave into the appropriate size ring.
After giving both sides of the copper cross a hammered effect, I moved onto attaching the weaved copper ring. The hardest part about this was trying to figure out how to attach it, I eventually settled on riveting the top and bottom of the copper ring to the cross.
Very very carefully drilling a hole through the copper ring and cross. I then cut some small bits of copper wire the same diameter of the holes. (These make up the rivets) The first rivet went very smoothly. However it was the second rivet the was an issue, while hammering one side it split the copper ring in half. This only happened because it wasn’t a single piece of metal, rather it was to copper wires simply pushed against each other with a rivet being driven between them. Annoyingly this it accident sort of ruined the rest of the piece from there.
Using some brass solder on the weak areas to strengthen them up helped. However the piece still felt very fragile to hold (not something I’d be comfortable wearing around my neck as jewellery). After burning the copper and sanding it I archived a satisfying hammered copper effect at least. However its still not a piece I’m very happy with. Oh yeah, I also added a copper ring so a string or cord can be attached to the pendant.
