I know we hype up how satisfying it is when characters get power-ups/transformations/weapons/upgrades that have this strong thematic resonance and are closely tied into, justified by and reflect their personal narratives, arcs and development and all that.

But you know sometimes it’s just really fun when the narrative justification is ‘a bad guy dropped this cool weapon’ and ‘we are in deep shit and need whatever power-ups and upgrades we can get’ and ‘it looks really cool’. Because then you get characters decked out in these hilariously awesome mashups of gear and abilities. Or maybe you really luck out and get BOTH XD

Take this guy for instance:

His name is Leodrake, and for many long years he guarded the great sacred spirit tree at the center of the mystical Naturia Forest. Until one day, that just wasn’t enough.

So with the help of all his forest friends as well as his new buddies the magic gem-powered order of fusion knights and the magitek star fairies from space, Leodrake got an upgrade:

This is Leo, Keeper of the Sacred Tree. He is now super-charged with space-magitek armor that was crafted from the remains of an apocalyptic ice dragon that got possessed by an evil swarm virus. But don’t worry, the space fairies took care of the ‘evil’ part of that.

Unfortunately, Leo’s upgrade wasn’t enough to stop the possessed shadow dolls created by a corrupted reincarnation cycle caused by the Gem Knights and the Star Fairies having to kill God (which isn’t actually as long of a story as you might think).

So Leo got another upgrade, fusing with a gigantic rock tortoise to become Gaiastrio.

And then, Gaiastrio would team up with a powerful druid beast tamer named Lara and her Spirit Beast partner, a giant fire cat named Apelio. Which led to Gaiastrio and Apelio fusing into one, which also super-charged Lara’s own power.

And so, the three would charge off into battle for the fate of the world as Ritual Beast Ultimate Gaiapelio.

Until Leo and Apelio would ultimately fall in battle against basically-Satan, defending their partner Lara and her companions/family.

Though their spirit remains with her.

Today's V-Jump reveals are the new Ritual Beast support, and no, I have no idea what the lore behind these are, so I expect more Ritual Beast support in the main sets.

YGOrganization assumes Lara's new Ritual Beast is an older Chiwen, though.

We are unlikely to get a new alternate artwork for Terminal World due to anniversary stuff today, so maybe on Saturday once again. Tomorrow should be the December Duelist Box reveals, again, most likely for DM, and ZEXAL.

Welcome to today's pick a card reading. I'll be using two of my decks. The way this works is that you choose one of the options above and get a reading based on it. First I'll start from left to right.

If you choose by gems the first one is kyanite, the second one rose quartz, and the third one angelite.

Pile 1

Greetings pile number one! Now Kyanite is known as an aura cleanser and I'd frequently use a rough one that looked like a sword to cleanse the aura. You might also be drawn to the color blue frequently. Ah gosh there is something in your chest that you must confess or come out with as the pin almost looks as if they are clutching their heart. Fret not pile number 1 as the flowers are soon wilting as the north enters the season of autumn. Appreciate the journey as you thread.

These two cards jumped out of the deck while shuffling and one more card from the Keep Calm and Trust GOD deck.

Ritual Beast Tamer Laura is here and I got an image of fire as if you are burning. It's like there are too many things at once and while hard you keep going through the challenge. Lara is also under the tutelage of Ritual Beast Tamer Elder. There appears to be a lot of learning to control your power. Get in touch with nature and go outside. Keep the phone away for those silent moments of tranquility will help you recharge.

Next we have Zefra Path. Ah if it isn't the Kabbalah. Green often makes me think of healing which El Shaddoll Wendi is being beckoned towards. You need a retreat pile number one. You can do this by partaking of activities like meditating, listening to classical music and psalms too.

Lastly we have the bible verse Phil. 4:13 "I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength." Behind it a quote from Charles H. Spurgeon "We cannot always trace GOD's hand, but we can always trust GOD's heart." Pile number 1 learn to trust your heart Communicate with GOD through sacred scriptures and prayer. GOD knows what is best for you. You can communicate with GOD through retreats or a sanctuary but be kind if you enter one.

Pile 2

Pile number 2, you chose the Rose Quartz. Hee hee hee, the sticker just giggled. You've been waiting for this moment. Rose quartz is often known as a love gemstone. It is quite common and I got an image of a heart rose quartz. It's almost beaming with bliss as it glows.

We have Spiritual Beast Tamer Winda! Oh and I just got an image of a gust of air. In here Winda has achieved nirvana and is in a forest known as the Naturia Forest. Winda is soft, just like the Glow I mentioned earlier. There is something kind about you pile number 2. While some may call thy actions aloof you know your methods and you care for the well being of others. I feel that your heart is troubling you a bit. Remember to pray to GOD/Source if something troubles you. Oh also tell the person what you have been meaning to say to them.

Reeshaddoll Wendi, formerly a ritual beast tamer and kneeling on top of Spiritual Beast Pettlephin. Hmmmm... this card has mainly signified Yeshua/Jesus in previous readings, the messiah! Connect with Yeshua with what you can. Ve is very loving and a great teacher. You can pray or even read the sacred scriptures to spread the good news. Yeshua beckons you to tell ver your worries and concerns.

Lastly we have the Bible verse Luke 12:30 "Your father already knows your needs" behind it a quote from Carrie ten Boom "Let GOD's promises shine on your problems" Never feel alone as there is always a group of guides watching over you. Connect with them however you can even if you have to give them a name.

Also the season of Rosh Hashanah. If you can practice or learn to fast as it is a custom to fast. You'll be surprised how it will help.

Pile 3

Pile number 3, Ho Ho Ho you've been naughty haven't you? Do your best to be kinder to others and yourself. This pin is like gliding through the air well pleased with themselves, almost prideful. I don't support this story but be kinder as you are currently on the naughty list for Christmas this year.

Speaking of Christmas don't get caught up with the gift giving as it is so much more than just Santa Clause and receiving a gift. It's when we celebrate Yeshua's birth.

You chose an angelite bracelet and gosh do the angels need to help you cleanse from some patterns as they will now. "I don't believe in angels" you better believe they are real. I'd start with the Guardian Angel prayer.

Now onto your card spread pile number 3 and....

You have Minerva the Exalted Lightsworn. Boooiiii get ready for some coal this Christmas! She's ready to send the Owl towards you and is calling you to partake of religion.

"Why should I, I'm not religious?" Well learn to be religious. I'm not saying partake of just Christian and Jewish customs, practice temperance and diligence in them. Which reminds me.

We have Arcana Force 14: Temperance A reference to the tarot's Temperance card. You can't continue these patterns you have pile number 3. It's not just about posting selfies about yourself on social media. Also I feel you tend to troll people often. Come, learn to pray to the angels if you don't feel like praying to GOD. They are GOD's messengers after all.

Also we have the Bible verse Col 1:11: "May you be strengthened with all power according to His might" behind it is a quote from J.I. Packer "The stars may fall, but GOD's promises will stand and be fulfilled." Pile number 3, learn to be kinder to yourself. GOD gives us the power to rise up in the morning and go to bed at night. Also you need some major declutterring.

Ritual Beast Steeds ———————————————— If you control a "Ritual Beast" monster: Destroy monsters on the field up to the number of "Ritual Beast" monsters you currently control. ———————————————— Can Be Found In: The Secret Forces (THSF-EN032)

Ritual Beast is a build involving various subcategories in the archetype, gathering together on the field to perform Fusion Summons with. To do so is quite an easy task, as if their members aren't providing additional summons they'll banish cards for all sorts of benefits. A whole Deck that quickly gains momentum as soon they stack several summons and effects, Ritual Beasts gained most of its reputation from the limited "Ritual Beast Ulti-Cannahawk" thanks to its several exploits leading the whole build.

"Ritual Beast Steeds" is a Trap Card with high removal potential if we can take advantage of the archetype's gamestyle. On activation as soon we have atleast one Ritual Beast, "Steeds" will destroy as many monsters as Ritual Bosters under our control. Clearly with the several summons Ritual Beasts working arround from early to late game, "Steeds" can go from a simple yet effective card to deal with certain threats to clearing entire boards if the opponent isn't careful.

The efficiency of "Ritual Beast Steeds" is completely dependant of how we manage the archetype itself, and being a build all about summoning materials for their Fusion Summons is not a difficult task. Starting with the additional summon of "Ritual Beast Tamer Elder" to rely in late game on the revival effect of "Ritual Beast Tamer Lara", not only we will gather materials with ease but also improve the destructive potential of "Steeds" right before we use them to summon bigger monsters with. Ritual Beasts also shares some cards along the Zefra archetype, mainly gaining an additional summon from "Oracle of Zefra" as well looking for the Pendulum Monsters "Ritual Beast Tamer Zefrawendi" and "Ritual Beast Tamer Zeframpilica" for any purpose required. Although various Ritual Beasts' effect will banish each others for their effects there's nothing to worry about as if not brought back by "Ritual Beast Ambush" we can use the chainable ability of their Fusion Monsters to return to the Extra Deck and summon banished members in return at the perfect timing to destroy as many enemies in the best sceneario. While "Steeds" can achieve great results with materials alone, don't miss the chance to bring a Link Monster such as "Ritual Beast Ulti-Kimunfalcos" to gather Fusion Ritual Beasts and either overwhelm the opponent along the Trap Card or use their retrieval effects for a complete board sweep. Just keep on mind that many Ritual Beasts can only be Special Summoned once per turn, so don't overextend on setting up "Steeds" if really needed.

Despite being completely dependant of the archetype itself, "Ritual Beast Steeds" can achieve great results under the right hands. Ritual Beasts have no difficulties from start to finish to swarm the board with either materials or Extra Deck monsters, and with chainable effects like their own Fusion Monsters to time "Steeds" at its best performance is quite possible to achieve steady results from one Duel to another. Overall the main problem with "Steeds" is the same as Trap Cards overall, becoming a bit slow on its preparation compared to more prevalent removal effects. Yet, with various tools to gather Ritual Beasts during any player's turn, "Steeds" deserves a spot as won't miss any opportunity to clear entire fields efficiently.

- Efficiency is completely dependant of the build itself - As a Trap Card might be slow compared to other removal options
