After he had spent some time contemplating life within the rock pool — not to mention dozing and dreaming on his rocky perch in the warm, afternoon sun — Algy began to feel that although the pool was fascinating, it was too far away from the sea. So he hopped down onto the sand, in order to watch the waves playing in the sunshine and to listen to the fascinating sounds that they made more closely. But very soon he found that he had apparently misjudged the appropriate distance, and had settled down just a wee bit too near the edge of the mighty ocean…
It seems that Algy had been asleep for so long that he had quite forgotten how quickly the tide could advance on his own wee beach, and although the wavelets did their best to encourage him to swim, Algy discovered — and not for the first time — that he really wasn't a sea bird. Some fluffy birds just never learn!
[And nor do their assistants… Guess who forgot to take a tripod when recording Algy's adventures by the sea…]

So back last when I was playing XVI, I was a tiny bit obsessed with this ice formation out by Oriflamme and said guessed it could be a dlc later. At the time I assumed we'd control Jill and see what she and Cid were doing while away from Clive, but it turns out this is our Leviathan dungeon.
Either way I'm very happy!
Some info for interested players:
The dlc is 10 hours long!
The story focus is on Jill ❤️
There's a new character to accompany us
You can use Leviathan's abilities
Boss fight against leviathan
The storyline is they're trying to save Leviathan's dominant
The ending of rising tide doesn't change the main narrative of ffxvi
If you complete both Rising Tide and Echoes of the fallen you unlock an epilogue sidequest.
Yeah, an epilogue sidequest.
I really hope we see Clive and Jill reunite. That ending was the worst and I still don't wanna replay the game because of it 😭
They deserve to be happy and together 😭🙏

So Rising Tide is coming and (sadly) Joshua looks like he's the kicked party member to let Shula in.
Square, if you're going to do that to the man you must do 1 of these 3 things:
1. The man needs a vacation.
Let his tiddies out like all the rest of the male cast. Bonus points of he gets a plus one invite for a hideaway companion. Let him lay on a beach for 2 days in the sun and bake Ultima in his chest prison until the waterspout from Leviathan makes him move to the tiki bar.
2. Give this man an ancient library.
Sorry guys, but please fuck off while I read all of these beautiful books and steep myself in this new culture and research Ultima. Yeah I'll just take a glass of water, I don't need food or sleep, I need answers!
3. Stick this man with the B cast, annoy him as much as possible, but give him some pretty ancient ruins to study so that he's happy.
Famiel is definitely from this place, he's gotta be, so, force Joshua to lead him and his dimwits around.
Joshua: Clive! I want to go see the temple PLEASE!?
Clive: I want to fight a tonberry first!
Shula: These idiots can show you the temple!
Famiel and his friends: We can show you the temple!
Joshua: (sigh) Of course you can. Founder help me.
[Joshua must now constantly protect three idiots in a hostile ruin, meanwhile Famiel thinks he's getting them all out on brainpower alone, queue snarky Joshua]

I get that Black Panther was super popular so it makes sense that Killmonger became the face of MCU Villain Who's Right Actually, but man, remember when Agents of SHIELD did a whole arc when their protagonist was deprogrammed from being in a villainous group whose goal was to abolish SHIELD and then less than a season later it turned out that SHIELD was full of Nazis

The sea was so enticing that Algy decided to get a wee bit closer, although he was only too well aware that the ocean would show no mercy to a fluffy bird who failed to observe due caution, for he had experienced one or two narrow escapes in the past…
But at present the tide was exceptionally low, as it was the time of the full moon, so Algy felt perfectly at ease perching close to the water, resting on a mass of soft seaweed which, despite being somewhat sticky, did provide a comfortable and most accommodating cushion.
Unfortunately, however, his confidence soon proved unfounded, and Algy was forced to acknowledge once again that a fluffy bird should never, ever trust the sea…
As the water rushed "onward with uninterrupted sweep" Algy prepared to take flight, reflecting that some things were indeed beyond the reason or control of a fluffy bird:
The sea awoke at midnight from its sleep, And round the pebbly beaches far and wide I heard the first wave of the rising tide Rush onward with uninterrupted sweep; A voice out of the silence of the deep, A sound mysteriously multiplied As of a cataract from the mountain's side, Or roar of winds upon a wooded steep. So comes to us at times, from the unknown And inaccessible solitudes of being, The rushing of the sea-tides of the soul; And inspirations, that we deem our own, Are some divine foreshadowing and foreseeing Of things beyond our reason or control.
[Algy is quoting the poem The Sound of the Sea by the 19th century American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.]

But it was still only a foot or two deep, and though it swished terribly round the horses' legs, they reached the far side in safety.

It would have been nasty enough at the bottom even five minutes later for the tide was running up the valley like a mill-race, and if it had come to swimming, the horses could hardly have won over.
