Happy Valentines day! I wanted to draw something silly, so here we are: Valentine's cards with my OC's on them.

For anyone not in the knowhow or for the people who just want a quick recap:

Card 1: Wolfgang, aka, "The Pied Piper". Cursed into silence, so doesn't say anything.

Card 2: Pinocchio, speaks for itself

Card 3: Robinson "Robin" Hood

Card 4: Rapunzel

Card 5: Willemijn, from the Terschelling folkstory "De prinses van het eiland" (also known as the origin story of "Doodemanskisten").

Card 6: Friedrich, Rapunzel's prince who got blinded after falling from the tower into a thorn bush.

Card 7: Rouge Hood, aka, (Little) Red Riding Hood.

Card 8: Lyra, the narrator.

Card 9: Cantrell, the lyre-playing bard and Lyra's self appointed partner in storytelling.

Thuis blijft thuis

Papa zijn haren worden grijs,

maar zijn ogen stralen steeds meer.

Eerst in de trein, dan een bootreis.

3 uurtjes onderweg, toch zo ver van huis.

Mijn kamer is nog mijn kamer,

de kasten gevuld met spullen die niet van mij zijn.

De klokt tikt door, hier alleen wat langzamer.

Ik woon nu in een stad en heb heimwee naar een andere plek.

De straatnamen zijn hetzelfde, 

gevuld met nieuwe winkels, huizen en mensen.

“Ik heb je niet meer gezien sinds je elfde!”

Ik klets met een vrouw die ik niet meer ken.

De duinen zijn weer een stukje verschoven.

Er zit zand in mijn schoenen, haar en jas.

Ik blijf onbewogen,

net zolang tot de wind mij mee neemt.

Het meeste is hetzelfde, veel is anders.

Ik ben weer op visite in mijn ouderlijk huis.

Tourist tussen de eilanders.

Ondanks alles, het blijft thuis.

Living alone on a small island isn't easy. While there were people nearby, it would get really lonely sometimes, especially since her family... disappeared. Every time a ship would strand, she'd look for them, but to no avail.

Loved by the people for her kind heart and selfless nature, she'd visit every time somebody got sick, and care for them. Her castle doors were always open wide for anyone to stay, yet no one stayed for longer than a day. Afterwards, she'd return to a lonely castle, with rooms unused, halls unwalked, and food uneaten.

At least caring for her people made her go outside, where she would encounter some... unusual things.
