What a year, 2020! It started off with my first international trip in years, to visit my dearest friend, Sineide, in Brazil. 🇧🇷 What an adventure that was and I can’t wait to return!! 💃🏼 . Within 10 minutes of landing back in the states though, my grandmother passed away at 96. 💔 She was absolutely the strongest and most determined woman I have ever known, despite breast cancer and multiple strokes. ❤️ . Within an hour of crying my eyes out in the Logan Airport bathroom @tjconnery was curbside to bring me home to Maine. Little did I know, we would set off on our grandest adventure yet. . Two months later, I bought my first home and we moved in together. He was recovering from his own health challenges and we took everything head on. I am very grateful for him by my side. . Next up, I was supposed to visit another one of my dearest friends @elisebkaufman in France in late May 2020, but the trip was canceled due to COVID. I can’t wait to reschedule that trip and visit her new beautiful baby daughter Claire Skye Kaufman! 🥰 . The summer was so weird. My mother and I started a glamping business together at @topopino a few years ago. We had our most successful summer ever, yet barely saw each other due to COVID. We had a few lovely outdoor lunches on the lawn, but that’s it. I haven’t hugged her since my grandmother died for fear of spreading COVID. We are so excited for 2021 and brainstorming all sorts of auxiliary ideas. Stay tuned! . The light of 2020 for my family has been bringing @chloethemainedoodle into our lives on October 10th. There is nothing like the joy of a puppy to remember everything is new and so incredibly exciting to explore! . I took this photo this afternoon during golden hour trying to remember to make the best of this year. Please pardon my hair, I haven’t been to a salon since January. I am grateful for what I have - my family, friends and partner, as 2020 comes to a close. Back on the bike! 🚴🏼‍♀️ In shorts in November! 😃 For my fastest fondo ever! ⚡️ . Getting a puppy (@chloethemainedoodle) in October has been an incredibly joyous experience. There is this little bundle of love constantly at my side now. 🐶 . It has impacted my ability to go out freely on 4 hour bike rides though. Yesterday, my mother walked with Chloe on the beach and had a little picnic while I got back on the bike and back in my groove. Thankfully, Chloe had gotten used to me on the @onepeloton bike, so I was ready for 💯km at >17mph! . This fondo was so meaningful because I was riding with a new sense of joy. ⚡️ Breakthrough on the bike ⚡️ - Yesterday, I finally broke through what I thought was my limit and reached a new average speed PR of 17.5 mph on a long ride. Today, I followed it up with another speedy 50k ride and think I’ve found my new normal on the bike. ☺️ - Never give up on personal progress, whether you are new to a sport or have been at one for years.
