Risevember is just around the corner...
Tumblr media
Yeah, I wanted to post this earlier to give people a headstart but something, something happened lately and I had to put it on hold. You don't really have to take part of this if you don't want to, considering the stuff we all went through with Risetober.
Anyway, you guys knows the drill; anyone can participate and have fun! Go crazy with the prompts! Write! Draw! Make silly Tik-Tok videos! Get creative! We gotta keep the spirit of Rise TMNT alive and let @nickelodeon know that we, the fans, want MORE of Rise TMNT.

Risevember 2023: Day 2 - Day of the Dead
Tumblr media
Leo was quite accustomed to Run of the Mill pizzeria. Portal to the alleyway outside it, enter the restaurant, pick up a stack of pizza, mess with Señor Hueso a little bit, portal home. The routine was easy.
One day, however, as the red-eared slider casually entered the restaurant like normal, he noticed something different. It was just as busy as it normally was, but the scenery was significantly different. More decorations, more happy chatter, overall, just a much more jovial spirit in the place.
Leo noticed Señor Hueso passing by in a rush and, much to Hueso’s dismay, flagged the yōkai down.
“Woah, bone man, what’s the special occasion? There a wedding or something I didn’t know about?” the blue clad turtle jested lightheartedly.
“Not that, pepino,” Señor Hueso, the “bone man” in question, deadpanned at the young turtle’s flippancy. But he was in too high of spirits to be brought down by the childish nickname. “Hoy es el Día de los Muertos, so that’s why we’ve spruced the place up a bit.”
The skeleton gestured to the eye-catching papel picado strewn about the pizzeria, the candles brilliantly illuminating the room, and, most prominently, the grand altar containing an array of tenderly crafted items.
Leo tilted his head in confusion. “El Día de… ¿Qué?”
“El Día de los Muertos. En tu mundo, mayormente se celebra esta tradición en México,” Hueso commented, “but there are similar holidays in the Hidden City.”
“So it’s some sort of death celebration day?” Leo raised his brow bone. “Seems sort of morbid, you know?”
“Eh, less of a death celebration, and more of a commemoration of their lives,” the bone man explained as he walked up to the altar and kneeled before it. Leo joined him. “We adorn their altars, sus ofrendas con velas, calaveras de azúcar, papel picado, fotos, cempasúchil, y símbolos de sus vidas. We also place their favorite foods to nurture their spirits, and we do it all to honor their lives.”
Leo nodded along and stared inquisitively at the altar, enjoying the opportunity to deepen his understanding of the holiday.
After gazing upon the pan de muerto, mole con arroz, flowers, candles, all of the trinkets representing the life and love of so many people, Leo looked back at Hueso exuberantly.
“Teach me more.”
(@sariphantom gotta love the Leo-Hueso dynamic)

Summary of Art 2024! ✨
This was the year of the dragon and I was determined to draw as many dragons as I could! ...until I felt burnt out and had to stop! BUT I did pretty good, with 219 dragons posted in total! And every month I wanted to do at least one fully shaded image of my gemstone dragons I have in Flight Rising, so each month is a different birthstone too.
January - Garnet the Coatl!
February - Amethyst the Nocturne!
March - Aquamarine the Ridgeback!
April - Diamond the Tundra!
May - Emerald the Skydancer!
June - Pearl the Pearlcatcher!
July - Ruby the Imperial!
August - Peridot the Skydancer!
September - Sapphire the Guardian!
October - Opal the Bogsneak!
November - Citrine the Bogsneak!
December - Turquoise the Fae!
Boy, I do love shading shiny things. 💎✨
And with that, I think it's time to conclude the daily dragons this year. I don't think I can do a new drawing Every Single Day, but I am still interested in more challenges in the future... I've been thinking about doing alternate colored Pokémon a lot lately, and once or twice a week seems more reasonable to achieve. I want to start posting my own characters again too, I didn't really do that this whole year!
Although I am probably about to get busy again... my mom is expected to have another surgery in January if everything goes as planned. Basically her SI joint is hurting her A Lot and All Of The Time, and this should help her, but I won't have much time to draw while she's recovering, so I won't immediately jump into a new challenge quite yet since I'll be helping her with so much.
...amongst the other challenges that are likely to pop up in the next few years. Like probably having to move. And whatever's happening in White House. I don't know, let's just try our best.
Whew... if you're here, thanks for checking out my art! Have a good day! :D

society of HAIQIN
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
date: november 11, 2024
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The living Society of Haiqin
Society
Haiqin's society is deeply rooted in values of equality, harmony, and advancement. The structure is fluid, offering pathways for social mobility based on merit, contributions, and education, while ensuring a balance between progress and tradition.
Class Structure
Fluid Class System:
Haiqin's class system isn't rigidly defined, but it does show distinctions based on factors like wealth, education, and social contribution. Wealthy families and aristocracy still hold sway in certain sectors, yet individuals can rise through merit-based achievements such as education or societal contributions. The emphasis on meritocracy encourages innovation and intellectual growth, particularly among the younger generation.
Economic Disparities:
While there is no formal caste system, the wealth gap is significant between urban and rural areas. Urban centers, such as Haiqin's capital, offer advanced opportunities in education, business, and employment. In contrast, rural areas face challenges like limited access to infrastructure, resources, and services. This disparity can affect social mobility and quality of life but is gradually addressed through governmental initiatives aimed at providing better resources to the rural populace.
I don't think I need to address this again.
Education
Haiqin places a high value on education, seeing it as key to societal progress. The education system is structured to produce not only skilled professionals but also well-rounded individuals who understand their responsibility to society.
Structure and Values:
Education is mandatory, with primary and secondary education focusing on foundational knowledge and specialized skills. Primary education includes basic literacy, mathematics, and physical education, while secondary education has tracks for those pursuing higher education or vocational training. The curriculum is rich in philosophy, environmental studies, and traditional arts, emphasizing both critical thinking and creativity. STEM fields are equally prioritized for fostering innovation, alongside values such as empathy, responsibility, and sustainability.
Elite Institutions and Accessibility:
While there are prestigious "Academies of Excellence" that provide advanced networking and training opportunities, Haiqin has also made great strides in making education accessible to people from lower-income backgrounds. Scholarships are available for bright students, regardless of their social class, creating pathways for upward mobility. The nation believes that intellectual development should be available to all its citizens, particularly as it serves as the backbone of Haiqin's cultural and technological advancement.
Healthcare
Universal Healthcare:
Haiqin offers universal healthcare to all its citizens, ensuring that access to medical care is not restricted by economic status. The healthcare system focuses on preventive measures, public health initiatives, and widespread community health education. This reflects Haiqin's belief that a healthy society is a productive society.
Access and Quality:
Healthcare facilities in urban areas tend to be more advanced, offering cutting-edge technology and specialized treatments. The government is aware of disparities between urban and rural regions, and efforts are continually made to improve rural healthcare access. Telemedicine, mobile clinics, and traveling medical professionals are common ways to extend healthcare services to underserved populations.
Private Healthcare Options:
For those who can afford it, private healthcare offers faster services and access to specialized medical treatment. While these private institutions thrive, they are regulated to ensure that they do not create a stark divide in access to care.
Gender Roles
Haiqin is known for its progressive views on gender and sexuality, where individuals have the freedom to define their identities beyond traditional roles. Historically, women in Haiqin have held leadership roles in politics, military, and business.
Traditional and Fluid Roles:
Though traditional gender roles still exist, the country fosters a society that values fluidity, particularly regarding women’s roles. Women hold prominent positions, not only in domestic affairs but also in governance, the military, and other key areas. The presence of women in positions of power, such as Sloane Tuoapizan, has solidified Haiqin as an example of progressive gender equality.
Sexuality and Gender Identity:
Haiqin embraces a wide spectrum of gender identities and sexual orientations. Public campaigns are regularly conducted to promote respect and understanding for diverse identities, and societal norms increasingly reflect acceptance. Laws are in place to protect against discrimination, and advocacy groups work actively to educate the public on matters related to gender and sexuality.
Crime and Punishment
Justice System:
Haiqin has a justice system that balances punishment with rehabilitation. Minor crimes tend to result in fines or community service, while rehabilitation programs aim to reintegrate offenders into society. The justice system places emphasis on restorative justice, where the goal is to repair harm rather than merely punish.
Common Crimes:
Petty theft and property crimes are fairly common in Haiqin, often arising from economic disparities. Environmental violations, such as illegal logging or pollution, are harshly penalized given the nation’s commitment to environmental preservation. With the rise of technology, cybercrimes such as hacking and data theft are becoming more frequent, prompting new legislation and surveillance systems to combat these issues.
Punishments and Crimes
Common Crimes
Property Crimes: (Theft and Burglary)
Punishments:For theft or burglary, the justice system emphasizes rehabilitation over punishment. Common punishments include fines, community service, and restorative justice programs where offenders work directly with victims to make amends. For repeat offenders or more serious thefts, prison sentences may be imposed. In certain cases, a restorative justice circle is held, where both offender and victim meet with community members to discuss the impact and agree on steps to repair harm.
Environmental Violations:
Punishments:Environmental violations, such as illegal dumping or deforestation, are treated seriously due to Haiqin's commitment to sustainability. Offenders may face hefty fines, along with the requirement to participate in environmental restoration projects. In severe cases, the offender may be subjected to community labor to repair environmental damage, including tree planting or soil regeneration efforts. Jail time can be imposed for repeated or severe offenses that cause significant environmental harm.
Cybercrimes (Information Theft, Hacking, etc.)
Punishments: Cybercrimes, such as hacking, information theft, or unauthorized surveillance, are growing in Haiqin with the rise of technology. Punishments typically involve heavy fines and mandatory cybersecurity education programs to prevent future offenses. In cases of severe data breaches or espionage, offenders may be incarcerated for a set period and monitored after release. For crimes involving the exposure of state secrets, there may be higher penalties, including exile or longer prison terms, depending on the level of harm caused.
Treason and Severe Crimes
Treason
Punishments: Acts of treason or severe offenses against the state, such as espionage, betrayal, or assassination attempts on high-ranking officials, are considered the highest form of crime. Punishments for treason are harsh and often irreversible. The primary punishment is exile, where the offender is stripped of their citizenship and banished to a remote, uninhabited area with minimal resources, ensuring they cannot return. Exiled individuals may live out their lives in isolation or serve as labor for state projects, depending on the severity of their crime. In certain extreme cases, execution is reserved for the most egregious violations, such as betrayal of the nation leading to widespread harm.
Terrorism
Punishments: Terrorism, defined as the use of violence or threats to destabilize the government or society, is considered one of the gravest crimes. The punishment for terrorism typically includes execution or life imprisonment if the offender has been involved in the planning or execution of such acts. The death penalty is applied for acts that cause significant loss of life or for individuals who lead terrorist organizations. Public executions serve as a deterrent to others and are meant to signal the government’s commitment to protecting its citizens.
Multiple Murders
Punishments: For individuals convicted of serial killings or multiple murders, the punishment is typically execution. Execution is publicized to reinforce the society’s stance against such violence. In some cases, if the individual has shown remorse or participated in rehabilitation efforts, the sentence may be reduced to life imprisonment with a focus on psychological evaluation and therapy to address underlying issues.
Minor Crimes and Rehabilitation
Minor Offenses (Petty Theft, Vandalism, etc.)
Punishments:For less severe crimes such as petty theft, vandalism, or minor public disturbances, fines and community service are the primary forms of punishment. Offenders may be required to pay restitution to victims or contribute to local community projects, such as cleaning public spaces, mentoring younger individuals, or supporting charitable causes. The goal is to reintegrate the offender back into society while promoting personal growth.
Substance Abuse and Addiction Crimes
Punishments: Haiqin adopts a rehabilitative approach for crimes related to substance abuse, treating the root cause of addiction rather than focusing solely on punitive measures. Individuals arrested for substance abuse-related crimes are typically sentenced to rehabilitation programs and mandatory counseling. Repeat offenders may face longer-term rehabilitation efforts and be monitored in halfway houses or therapeutic communities.
scripted drugs aren't a thing, minus tobacco and p0t, but still. Good to have nonetheless.
Prison System and Rehabilitation
Prison:
Crimes: Serious theft, fraud, assault, drug trafficking, and large-scale property damage, murder, high cybercrimes
Punishments:Prison sentences are primarily reserved for serious crimes, including theft, violent offenses, and corruption. The prison system is designed not only to punish but to rehabilitate. Inmates are encouraged to engage in educational programs, where they can earn diplomas or certifications in vocational skills such as carpentry, plumbing, or computer science. Work programs within the prison help offenders develop a strong work ethic and prepare them for reintegration into society. Psychological counseling is often provided to address emotional and behavioral issues. Violent offenders or those with histories of aggression may be placed in higher-security prisons where rehabilitation efforts are more intensive, including anger management programs.
Restorative Justice Programs:
Crimes: Small thefts, vandalism, minor corruption, or small-scale financial crimes.
Punishments: Restorative justice programs are a key feature of Haiqin’s legal system, especially for minor offenses. These programs encourage offenders to make amends with victims through actions such as community service, financial restitution, and apology letters. Offenders may also be required to participate in mediation sessions with victims and community leaders to discuss the impact of their actions and develop a mutual understanding. These programs focus on healing the community and restoring relationships rather than solely punishing the offender.
Execution
Crimes: Terrorism, mass murder, severe cases of treason.
Public Execution:
Punishments:Public executions are reserved for crimes of the highest magnitude, such as terrorism, mass murder, or treason. The process is highly ritualized, and the goal is to deter future crimes by demonstrating the severe consequences of such actions. The execution is broadcasted to the public as a solemn reminder of the state's authority and commitment to justice. The use of public executions, however, is carefully controlled to avoid the potential for inciting unrest.
Private Execution:
Punishments:For cases where the crime is extremely heinous but does not warrant a public display, a private execution may be carried out. The offender is executed in a closed ceremony, and the details are not released to the public. This is typically reserved for individuals who have committed crimes that disrupt societal stability in profound ways.
Exile as Punishment:
Crimes: High treason, espionage, and other crimes that threaten national security but may not warrant execution.
Punishments: Exile is one of the most severe forms of punishment in Haiqin, often used for high treason or crimes that involve a severe betrayal of the nation. Offenders are stripped of all legal rights and removed from society, left to survive in remote regions with minimal support. Exile can be a form of both punishment and protection, as it removes dangerous individuals from society without resorting to execution. Exiled individuals may be forced to live in harsh conditions, working on public projects or subsisting in isolation.
General Principles
Rehabilitation over Retribution:
The justice system is more focused on rehabilitating offenders than punishing them. The idea is to correct behavior, address underlying causes, and reintegrate the offender into society as a productive member.
Restorative Justice:
Encouraging offenders to take responsibility for their actions and make amends, either through financial restitution or community service, is a central tenet of Haiqin's legal philosophy.
Public Trials:
Many trials, especially those involving high-profile crimes, are public affairs, with outcomes broadcasted as part of the state’s commitment to transparency and justice.
Women in Power
Haiqin is one of the few societies where women have always played significant roles in leadership, military, and other vital sectors, inspired by both historical figures and contemporary leaders.
Political
Political Leadership:
Women are actively involved in politics, holding high-ranking positions in the government, including in the Council of Ministers and other influential departments. This reflects Haiqin's commitment to gender equality and the belief that leadership should be based on skill, wisdom, and integrity rather than gender.
Military
Military Leadership:
Haiqin’s military is especially notable for the high number of women in combat roles. Women have proven themselves to be highly skilled in the military, particularly within elite units such as sniper squads. These women are known for their precision, strategic thinking, and leadership qualities. Women in Haiqin’s military and intelligence sectors are often seen as role models and are celebrated for their service to the nation.
Specialized Units:
Haiqin’s sniper units are world-renowned, with female snipers often showing exceptional precision and intelligence in operations. These units are considered among the elite in the military, admired for their tactical excellence.
Leadership and Equality:
Women in Haiqin’s military are promoted to high-ranking positions, breaking down traditional gender barriers in armed forces. Female generals and commanders play an essential role in the leadership and direction of the armed forces.
Military
Haiqin’s military is designed for defense, peacekeeping, and protection rather than conquest. It is viewed as a pillar of national stability and sovereignty.
Strategic Defense and Peacekeeping
Purpose and Doctrine:
The military exists not for expansion but for the defense of the nation’s sovereignty and to maintain the delicate balance of peace within Haiqin's borders. They are trained to engage in peacekeeping missions, humanitarian operations, and defensive warfare. While the military can deploy offensive tactics if necessary, its overarching goal is to preserve the nation's culture, values, and environmental harmony.
Honor and Discipline
Military Code:
Honor plays a central role in Haiqin's military training. Soldiers are taught to uphold the values of integrity, honor, and respect for life. The aim is to ensure the minimum impact on civilians and the environment during conflicts. The military does not engage in reckless warfare; instead, it favors precision strikes and minimizes collateral damage.
Training Programs:
Military personnel undergo rigorous physical and mental training, focusing on not just combat but also wisdom, patience, and strategic planning. Soldiers are trained in both conventional and unconventional tactics, with a focus on mental discipline, meditation, and stress management techniques.
Recruitment and Veterans
Recruitment:
Military service is a respected path, and individuals can volunteer for enlistment at age 19 after completing high school. Specialized positions, such as sniper units, require additional training and skills, making them highly competitive. Many young people choose military service for its prestigious status and benefits, including scholarships and job opportunities post-service.
Veterans:
Veterans are well-respected in Haiqin, with many receiving honors and leadership positions within civilian life due to their discipline, skills, and experience. The nation’s commitment to supporting veterans includes offering healthcare, housing assistance, educational subsidies, and job placement programs to ensure a smooth transition to civilian life.
Mental Health Support:
Understanding the psychological toll of military service, Haiqin has established mental health support systems for veterans. Counseling services, support groups, and wellness programs are available to help veterans adjust and maintain mental well-being after service.

Daily Writing Challenge 2024 November Day 4 Words: Surrender/Tranquil @daily-writing-challenge
Tumblr media
Meandering along at a faster pace than usual, it was long past the midnight hour, and Rosselyn was ready to be home, new geographical information successfully reported for the courier team today. The void state of the world crystal the Arathi crowned “Beledar” also spun the grand ‘owl’ faster in search for cover in Hallowfall, attempting to take shelter from the rise of dark forces that a night darker than dark seemed to suddenly breed.
Landing as a flurry of panicking feathers on a high formation of rock, the starry-eyed owl swirled away as she made herself the smallest, most imperceptible mouse when her feet touched ground, scurrying into a crevice of the rocky outcropping.
Trapped in her own dread, Rose heard it again. The solemn hum, some wordless plea resonating from the crystal. Or was it sourced from somewhere else? She had heard the rumors of the strange ‘song’ in passing, heard it hum that terrible, dreadful sound in this place when it would shift. Sometimes, it sounded stupidly scared, like her.
It’s a right horrid way to be, she thought. But I can’t help you. Dunno how…I’m so sorry…
It felt like an eternity of dark on dark, but eventually Azeroth’s called heroes did whatever it was they were called to do, and the great crystal shifted again into its golden hue, bringing the comfort of the skies with it. Rosselyn scurried out of her little crevice to let the warmth flow over her, and with it she returned to her full, human shape. Strangely, she didn’t feel regretful for not knowing how to help. No shame in hiding, in caring for herself. There was warmth, light. Hope, after the dark storm.
Even the dark times, they pass, Rose mused as her dread slowly released her. And we move on.
Rosselyn should have been on her way, the sensible part of her brain knew. But the tranquil moment inspired her, freezing her to the rocky outcropping as she stared at the golden light of the crystal like the light of dawn. The itch flowed into an unexplained compulsion, a moment that needed capturing, her own translation to paper. 2 bells in the dead of the morn, and she just had to surrender to the will of art. As Rose yanked her leather-bound book from her satchel and scrambled for anything she could draw with, she put the future body aches of the unrested to the back of her mind, and focused entirely on her crystalline muse.

Hey Everyone- We apologize for the delay on this update. We had hoped to have more tangible progress and updates to present to you before posting this, but an update is overdue. First off, we all want to say how much we appreciate everyone’s patience and continued support for this project. It’s taken much longer than any of us had anticipated, but our team is committed to seeing this project through. Unfortunately this year has been challenging for everyone, and progress has reflected that. While VFX has made progress in the past year, it is not as much as we would have hoped. We’ve lost a number of our artists this year, both due to Rowling’s ongoing bigotry making it understandably hard for people to continue working on the film, as well as unrelated schedule and workload issues outside of the project. We started 2023 with 10 artists on our VFX team, and nowadays even on our best days we have less than half that. This leaves plenty of days/weeks where members of our smaller, but dedicated team are entirely unavailable.
While I presume most of you are aware of the WGA & SAG strikes that shut down much of the film industry from May to November, what many people outside of the industry aren’t aware of was the pressure that came down from the studios on those who work in Post Production, especially VFX, during that time. Many of the talented artists on the TGS team work in VFX as their day job as well, and this studio crunch left little to no time for side projects unfortunately. We had artists report working 60-80 hours a week. Other members of the team were out on the picket lines fighting to protect the industry and their livelihoods. All of this led to a rough summer and fall for progress on the project.       Beyond that, a variety of other struggles have also faced our team throughout this past year. Without going into too much detail so as to protect the feelings and privacy of our amazing team, we have had members dealing with life threatening illnesses, deaths of loved ones, others facing numerous struggles due to rising transphobia, and several who simply had less time for TGS due to being forced to take up lower-wage jobs to survive during the strikes.
That said, it hasn't all been negative. We've also had members of our team forced to lighten their workloads due to happier circumstances, such as welcoming children, getting married, or attending grad school. It's not all dark clouds and gloomy circumstances, but one way or the other, the past year has undoubtedly thrown so much at our team that progress has at times become far slower and far less than we would have always liked.
All of that said, there has been some wonderful progress made this year. After a tremendous amount of collaboration between multiple artists, one of our most deceptively challenging VFX shots, the Dungbomb Prank seen in our very first piece of concept art was finally wrapped up by artist Porter Justus.     Work has also progressed beautifully on various digital establishing shots. After a ton of work, our VFX Supervisor Martin Bayang was able to solve the issue of a particularly problematic Petrificus Totalus shot. There has been continued work on some very exciting Potions and Invisibility Cloak effects, and we recently wrapped up the spells for a very fun Lily versus Regulus altercation. And while not completed, there has been a lot of excellent progress has been made on much of the third act, including many of the most difficult sequences of the film.
To put some more-concrete numbers on the amount of progress we’ve made versus what we still have to tackle, only about 12 minutes of the film remain unfinished as of the time of this update. The vast majority of the film is just about fully locked, barring color and some slight timing adjustments. Within what remains, most if not all effects are already in progress. Obviously the climactic third act contains some relatively complicated VFX shots that may take slightly more time to complete, but the finish line truly is in sight now.
One of the last big updates, and perhaps the elephant in the room, is that this year we also found ourselves forced to finally part ways with a member of our team - our composer. This was an incredibly difficult decision and one that we obviously did not take lightly. In truth, we probably took far longer to arrive at this decision than we should have, given our affection for the person involved and how excited we were about the work they had done.
Unfortunately, we reached a point where essentially no new work had been done for over a year, despite multiple efforts to reach out and work through various struggles. Continuing with the same situation and with the same composer simply became untenable and we were forced to make the very difficult decision to move on and try to finish off the last several minutes of music needed with a new voice. We are currently in talks with a talented new composer, and had hoped to have the details locked in place before giving this update, but the transition is taking a bit longer than expected. Moving forward, we are hopeful that we will be able to still make use of all the excellent music that our original composer did create for TGS, but working through the logistics of that between him and our new music team remains an ongoing conversation as of the time of this update. We hope to have more details for you in the coming weeks. As difficult a decision as it was, it does also feel like a dramatic step forward that gives us much more confidence today than we had prior to the decision that the film is actually, finally, nearing completion.
We have said this many times before, and unfortunately it still bears repeating: no one wants to see this film completed and released to all of you more than we do. Even with the tremendous toll JKR’s vile conduct has taken on all of us, our hope remains that TGS can be a small piece of that universe untouched by the emotional baggage that the canonical franchise now carries. In light of the recent strikes in Hollywood, some attention is finally being paid to the insane working conditions many, if not all, VFX artists are subjected to. They are one of the last groups left in the entertainment industry that is not protected by a union, and as such they face essentially unfettered pressure from the studios they work for. Many of the artists volunteering their precious free time to TGS face these conditions in their day-to-day lives, and have still found it in their hearts to carve out time for our little movie. We are so incredibly grateful for them, for their time, and for the contributions they continue to make to make this film look as great as it possibly can. We are committed to delivering the best possible version of this film that we can to you when all is said and done.
It has been a long road. The end is finally, truly in sight. Please know that we are eternally grateful for your ongoing support and your ongoing patience. We are very much looking forward to finally reaching the end of this journey, together, and finally being able to share this film with you all. Thank you again, and all our love to all of you and yours in the new year.

2023 YEAR IN REVIEW!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My artstyle changed a lot this year, especially after my shift from ibis paint to procreate after getting my iPad (drawing on an iPad is the BEST btw 100% recommend I love it way more than a phone and it didn’t die after a month like my old wacom 💀💀). I’m relatively happy with where my art is atm and I hope to continue to improve in 2024!
Explanation of all the silly art down below! (Mostly so I can tell y’all who the fanart is for but also cause I like rambling)
January: A drawing of my Rise Leo human design I did to test out a pixel brush I found for Ibis Paint. He’s very fun to draw hehe I need to draw him more-
February: I wanted to learn how to draw the future designs of Leo and Mikey along with CJ so I planned to draw them all together! I struggled with Leo though so I just got rid of him. Sorry Peepaw 😞😞💔💔💔
March: Fanart for @beannary ‘s TLP au! I love it so much so I had to draw smth for it hehe 😈😈💥💥💥 which reminds me I need to draw more at some point- might redraw it at some point cause I’m not super happy with how it turned out but I do like the idea a lot
April: The month I created Reticent! April’s Fools was the first episode I came up with so I drew a chapter poster! It ended up being very different to the chapter cover I drew a couple months later but it’s still cool :D Leo is being weirdly affectionate to Mikey though what the heck that isn’t like him smh. Although I guess it was meant to be purposefully exaggerated sooooo 🥰
May: Reticent Casey!!! I don’t have much to say it’s just Reticent Casey HDKSGXKSHD this wasnt a very good art month
June: Krangified Donnie is literally my favourite concept ever thats it that’s all I have to say dbskdbwkh I adore Krangified Donnie and if the Rise brainrot takes over the Reticent brainrot for a while then I will probably be drawing Krangified Donnie during that time sorry not sorry
July: Reticent Chapter 3’s cover yippee!!! Still my favourite Reticent cover although Chapter 8’s is a close second (I can’t wait to post it once it’s been betaread yippee!!!). The scribble over Leo’s eyes is literally just because I was struggling to draw his eyes and i was getting annoyed dbskdbskdb it’s actually a very common issue with him (common Ret!Leo L). Also Mikey being reflected in the mirror is a reference to Mirror Man by Jack Stauber which I’ve basically considered his theme song since @aaronymous999 introduced it to me ebwjcbkwhd thank you Mr. Aaronymous! Also somebody said he was in the barbie box and I still need to draw that to this day because Mikey would’ve killed to go see Barbie.
August: RET DONNIE WOOOOO he’s being bullied again!!! I drew that piece for a colour palette challenge request and realised I got the prompt wrong so I just made it into its own thing 💥💥💥 it’s usually a flickering light gif but I chose to just use the version with the light on for this post. The photos in the background were really fun to draw hehe either April’s or Mikey’s is my favourite.
September: MY 500 FOLLOWER DTIYS YIPPEE (/my 150 follower DTIYS for tumblr). This one took me. Forever to draw and I love it to pieces hehe it was really fun to design Mikey’s room and figure out outfits for the sillies and idk the concept of a sleepover just seemed really fun to me dbskbdkdb- and all the entries I got were so so awesome I loved them all to pieces!!! I still look at them all the time hehe
October: FANART OF @endlesslogo ‘S HUMAN RISE LEO DESIGN WOOOOOO!!! This was the piece I started rendering on hehe it was so much fun to draw!!!! Although I did have a fight with rendering the hair for over an hour svsjegksbdk HOW DO PEOPLE DO IT FR!!!
November: Me and my friends were working on a crossover between our TMNT iterations so I drew all of our Karai’s together!!! Confluence Karai is on the left, created by Salem and Marine, New Stars Karai is in the middle created by Starla, and Reticent Karai is on the right created by me! All our Karais have such cool designs AHHHHH literally dead over them constantly/pos
December: Most of December I spent drawing Christmas presents so this was my present for Salem!!! Confluence!Jonatello my beloved….

The Primacy of Creativity: Philosophical Reflections on the Paleolithic Human Experience
Professor Allen Speight's lecture offers a profound exploration of Paleolithic cave art, prompting a reevaluation of the relationship between creativity, symbolism, and human nature. By delving into the complexities of interpreting early art, the lecture challenges traditional notions of art's genesis, inviting a more nuanced understanding that acknowledges the interplay between representation, abstraction, and expressive creation.
The mimetic theory of art, which assumes that art originates from an impulse to imitate the world, is complicated by the abstract symbols and non-representational elements in cave art, as well as the intimate, expressive process of creation. This challenge gives rise to fundamental philosophical inquiries regarding the definition of "art" in the context of early human creativity and the interpretation of symbolism in cave art. These questions underscore the need for a more inclusive definition of art, one that accommodates both representational and abstract forms, and encourages a deeper exploration of the cognitive and creative processes underlying early human artistic expression.
The selective focus on particular animals in cave art, juxtaposed with the notable absence of human and landscape representations, presents a thought-provoking puzzle. While initial theories offer partial explanations, they ultimately fall short, suggesting that this symbolic selectivity may reflect a more complex relationship between early humans, their environment, and the visual perception and symbolic communication that underpin artistic expression. The incorporation of natural rock features into paintings and the canonical perspective of animal depictions hint at a sophisticated understanding of visual perception and symbolic communication, highlighting the embodied nature of human creativity and cognition.
The analysis of Paleolithic cave art through a philosophical lens yields significant implications for our broader understanding of art and human nature. It underscores the reciprocal relationship between artistic expression and human cognition, wherein art shapes perceptual awareness and understanding of the world. Furthermore, the unique experience of encountering original cave art raises poignant questions about the nature of authenticity and value in art, emphasizing the contribution of these aspects to our appreciation and understanding of artistic works.
The lecture makes a compelling argument for embracing the intricacies of early art, urging us to move past oversimplified explanations and instead cultivate a richer, more nuanced understanding of art, symbolism, and the human experience. As we wrestle with the questions sparked by these ancient works, we’re inadvertently reflecting on the very essence of what makes us human: our identity, our creative spark, and our relationship with the world around us. This introspection, in turn, deepens our understanding of humanity, creativity, and our place within the world.

The New Daily
Furore as The Apprentice gets US release
Sep 20, 2024
The Apprentice director Ali Abbasi insists his new film about Donald Trump is “not a hatchet job”.
Sebastian Stan takes on the role of the former US president in the drama that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May, but it struggled to find a distributor after Trump’s team sent a cease-and-desist letter in a bid to block its release.
Its director Abbasi now declares he was stunned by the backlash.
“I am quite shocked, to be honest,” he told Variety.
“This is not a political piece. It’s not a hit piece; it’s not a hatchet job; it’s not propaganda. The fact that it’s been so challenging is shocking.”
The director, who was born in Iran, was condemned by the country’s government over his last film Holy Spider but he was still more shocked by the reaction to his Trump project.
“OK, that’s Iran – that is unfortunately expected. But I wasn’t expecting this (over The Apprentice),” he said.
The new movie covers Trump’s rise from real estate developer to a household name in the 1980s and is set before he became the star of his own reality TV show The Apprentice, from which the film derives its name.
The film did eventually sell to a small distribution company – which launched a crowdfunding campaign to get the movie into cinemas in October – but it’s still not won over Trump’s team who declared the movie belongs in a “dumpster fire”.
A spokesperson for the Trump campaign told Variety: “This ‘film’ is pure malicious defamation, should never see the light of day and doesn’t even deserve a place in the straight-to-DVD section of a bargain bin at a soon-to-be-closed discount movie store, it belongs in a dumpster fire.”
The Apprentice lands in US cinemas on October 11, weeks before the country goes to the polls for the November 4 election as Republican candidate Trump takes on Democrat Vice-President Kamala Harris in a bid to land a second term in the White House.
************
I can't believe that ANYONE could possibly think that a film about Trump, that is not endorsed by Trump, wouldn't be a huge goddamned deal in America. Is the fact that our country is dangerously divided along Pro-Trump Anti-Trump lines not obvious to the rest of the world?
And if he is saying this regarding the difficulties getting distribution, I should think it wouldn't be too difficult to see that mainstream movie production companies are a billion dollar business, and billionaires love Trump.
But also, Trumps supporters, the MAGA crowd, are absolutely rabid for him and will do anything that they think will please him. Boycotts and pickets are not out of the question, and what movie company, no matter what size, wants to deal with that? Also, movie theaters are mostly chain operations owned by large companies, they are very unlikely to want negative MAGA attention turned toward them, as well. So who is going to show it?
If Abbasi didn't know these things because he is Iranian, I'm very surprised that no one informed him.
But, someone has apparently grown the balls to distribute it, now we have to see who will show it. Art houses and independent theaters who show independent films? Will any of them be afraid of the negative publicity? If they show it, will they advertise it to anyone but those who have signed up to get their email with the movies scheduled for the month? I guess we will have to see in October what happens. Will it be considered campaign propaganda? For or against? Wil MAGAs make it dangerous to show it? Or will they make it dangerous to see it. By dangerous I mean will hateful crowds gather in front of the theaters where it is showing, not necessarily poisoned popcorn, or snipers somewhere. But, who knows?
I wish Sebastian hadn't done it, because having played Trump might affect his career, or his safety. But I undestand with his attitude about taking the roles that make you scared, why he did.
However, sometimes fear is there to warn you that you are about to do something dangerous, so sometimes, I hope he realizes it is there to tell him "if you have any spread of self-preservation, walk away".

Full Moon in Gemini Astrology Horoscopes for All Sun Signs, Moon Signs, Rising Signs November 20-27, 2023
This week we are heading toward the Full Moon in Gemini on November 27, 2023 which is next week. I wanted to give you an early heads up on this Full Moon influence for you sign well before next week’s horoscopes so I’ve added extra to each of your horoscopes this week.
Tumblr media
Read your Sun Sign, Moon Sign and Rising Sign for a Fuller Picture
Thank you for sharing with your friends.
♈︎ Aries: A new energy is with you where determination to do great things fires you up. This week has the potential for great change in your goals. If you feel extra enthused, slowing down enough to look, listen and make a better aim can help you achieve your goals with desired results. A love and laughter connection is your ticket to healing self doubts. For the Full Moon, the more you wonder, the more you question what doesn’t make sense, the more you know.
♉︎ Taurus: Having more fun and feeling more interested in aiming for new experiences gets activated for you now. Demands by external social concerns may feel like a bother as you get inspired on your own thing. Exploring beauty routinely, motivates your creative insight. As broad as mundane surroundings in everyday life to art and mystical visions, beauty heals your soul. What people talk about means something deeper than the words themselves. With the Full Moon, you’ll notice what people say reveals what beliefs they hold that shapes and support their values.
♊︎ Gemini: Your relationships are ignited this week. But be cautious of your involvement with another in business, especially wherever you feel trust issues. It is your relationships with friends and peers that are most healing now. Conversations can help you see more. It’s your Full Moon in Gemini indicating extra intensity is with you. An impulse to make an announcement or to speak up about what you think of what’s happening, or to make a declaration to yourself can be a decisive moment.
♋︎ Cancer: You interest and enthusiasm in hobbies, exploring new ideas and figuring out ways of going after what you want is activated this week. Facing what has been holding you back gives you the push to get over that hurdle. Your wit and smarts triumph over your doubts. Watch for a lot of meaningful coincidences all this week leading up to the upcoming Full Moon. Information from many resources and looking at both sides can have you realize a hidden secret.
♌︎ Leo: You may want to get yourself further out there in mind and body, stepping outside your comfort zone a little to test your talents. You’ve got a lot of energy to get out but your inhibitions could stop you from feeling free. You’ll get over it and get activated in a smart way. A joke, sarcasm, an opinion, a funny pun, could give you just the flash of insight you need to make a decision as we get closer to the Full Moon.
♍︎ Virgo: A situation at home and a challenge in relationships that brings up the past could bring on a need for a meaningful apology. Being aware of when someone is not being honest or sincere helps you see the bigger picture. Extra effort and energy on being productive and smart in your goal setting is suggested. Communications issues in relationships and a lack of understanding can make decisions challenging with this Full Moon.
♎︎ Libra: Your charm is especially appealing now. You may feel like speaking up about something that is an obstacle to your routine and flow. Finding common ground and rapport in relationships leads to inspired efforts. Talking about more sides of issues, helps you see how the past plan hasn’t been working. Expand your thinking with this Full Moon by asking questions and imagining strategies. Writing helps you to not forget.
♏︎ Scorpio: I hope your birthday month is treating you well. A sense of change within you gets emphasis this week. Think of practical ways to move forward. Money, security and positive health benefit with extra energy this week. Don’t go into debt over something you desire. Think long term about what’s really good for you. Your instincts and emotional intelligence are emphasized with this Full Moon. Use them well to navigate. However, your desire for fun could be inebriating your ability to make rational decisions, especially about money.
♐︎ Sagittarius: Happy birthday to you in the coming month ahead as the Sun enters your sign this week. Extra energy is with you with Mars in the picture which could have you feeling like you have cabin fever with Saturn in conflict early in the week. Pushing yourself gives your more strength and vigor. Your smarts and talents are unique to you because of your past. Make the most of them now. The Full Moon influences your relationships. Personal conversations could be revealing but also have you unsure and with more questions as information shared is not clear. Consider how biases are playing their role. Don’t fall for what others believe that goes against your own logic.
♑︎ Capricorn: You could have quite an interesting time in a social situation giving you a different perspective of yourself. A strong attraction is possible. Try not to say or do anything you might regret. Karma is right there. Questioning the line of thinking, the way of doing things, and the processes and procedures makes you much more aware. But don’t expect totally honest answers to be other people’s top priority as secrets surround this Full Moon.
♒︎ Aquarius: Enthusiasm about something brought to you from your social sphere has you then realize there are limits and it may not be such a secure or financially sound idea. But at least it gives you more to think about. If a person demonstrates inappropriate behavior that has you feeling off you may want to call it a night. With this Full Moon look at a few different angles in your interactions. Opinions of others can be not totally forthcoming, so trust what makes more sense. What you say reaches further, but might not be clear or reflect your true intent.
♓︎ Pisces: Fast logic can have you confused. What someone says gets you thinking about where you’re aiming. Observe the way of the moon starting in your sign as it grows this week to the Full Moon in Gemini. You’ll find a food for thought. Political opinions probably won’t work well for you this week. This Full Moon could have you thinking a lot, and you have mixed feelings about your goals. What drives you and inspires you most? Dinner table conversations may get all the angles.
