What is up with the Toji pairings? Am I really the only one who just wants to see Mother Shiki rip Toji a new one for messing with her kid? Maybe while lecturing him on how to parent to really seal the deal?
But instead of striking the death blow, she giftwraps him for her former mentee, Yuki Tsukumo's pet project. Then adopts his son and stepdaughter to really rub salt in the wound.
I mean, that's the original direction things were headed in, probably? Before we got sidetracked by 'what if Shiki/Toji was a thing.'
Satoru still has his near-death experience, except when he goes to fight Toji for round 2, he finds his mother standing over the bleeding Zenin man with her sword in hand. ("Satoru! There you are." "Really, mother? You couldn't leave him for me?" "Then be faster next time, Yuki called dibs.")
Or something like that, probably.

Round 3, Day 1 - ALL TEAMS (Event)
Tumblr media
The third 'round' begins, as the sky grows dark.
And the Holy Grail begins to stir. Dark clouds begin to gather, beckoning something forth. The air grows thick with mana, sickeningly so, as if it would make one ill to simply stand outside.
Tumblr media
The Count rushes to the outside of the prison, mouth splitting into a ghastly grin as magical power begins surging through the air.
Tumblr media
The holy maiden looks up into the sky with a pensive expression, her eyes daring and her resolve unwavering.
Tumblr media
The hesitant god, sequestered off from the outside world, gets a divine sense- and feels a cold chill run down her spine.
Tumblr media
The fragmented dancer stares up at the sky, lightly licking her lips as she feels the energy collecting in the air.
Tumblr media
The fairy king, calm and collected as ever, only gives a vague smile as he sees the clouds gather.
Tumblr media
Even the innocent boy feels a change in the air, looking up at the inclement clouds with worry.
The Grail stirs… temporarily reaching out with a call…. summoning another Extra-Class!
Tumblr media
Wild thunder rumbles, the Servant of the mad god of revelry manifesting. Skeletal hoofbeats crack the heavens, as a deafening war cry fills the skies. There is no 'True Name' to be salvaged here, no weaknesses to be exploited, simply an entity of pure warfare and power, battle prowess and magic weaved together into a perfect warrior.
A heretical chariot rips through the heavens, holding a lone figure.
She grabs a sword, raising it high into the air as thunder strikes it, and she lets out another deafening proclamation of war, her voice rumbling like the thunder that surrounds her.
Laughter. Thunder. Lightning. The glint of silver as she draws her sword and slashes it through the air, maelstrom winds blowing around her.
Behold, the unknown warrior. The Heroic Spirit of Imposters. Forgotten to history, unknown to mankind, left eternally in the cracks of the Throne of Heroes to be summoned only by those willing to traverse the darkness.
Behold--
Tumblr media
The Extra Class of Nameless Shadow, Faker!
Event Start! - [Extra Summon - Tempest]
Rules:
For this round, it seems as if a new combatant has entered the battlefield! Will you engage, or will you simply try to avoid danger?
The battle will function as a Free-for-All, however there is no limit to how many participants can engage! In the case only one Servant engages, then the fight is given a unique poll!
The Servant who contributes the most (as in, gets 1st place) will gain a reward of their choosing from a set list for the next round (however, it will fade once the round ends)!
Servants may simply choose to fight or defend like normal, however if you target a Servant engaging with the Extra Summon, you will be pulled into the crossfire!
Regarding damage, the Servant in last place will sustain a wound (in the case of more than 3 Servants, anyone between 2nd and Last will sustain a -2% demerit in the immediate next round). This wound bypasses any sort of passive abilities that a Servant may possess.
However, if the Extra Summon is left completely uncontested (as in, no Servants choose to engage), then a notable penalty will be placed on the Servants with the highest 'health value'!

Let's Plan a Rescue Mission
A comic for Song of Wolves, a Gintama fanfiction with something like 5 Gintama things left in it at this point
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here is the written version because I am well aware I have doctor handwriting:
Let's Plan a Rescue Mission | Chapter Excerpt
“Why should we trust you?” Hayato said.
“You shouldn’t,” the samurai said.
“Then it sounds like I should kill you,” Yuki said, which Hayato knew was an empty threat. Unlike him and Masashi, Yuki would never kill someone without very, very good reason.
But this samurai didn’t know that.
“Leave him alive,” Hayato said. “We’ll find a way to get the information out of him.”
“Yes, we will,” Yuki said, looking sharply at the samurai, which scared him again because even though Yuki was a whole head shorter than him, he could most definitely rip him in half. And he didn’t need to turn into a lion first.
Yuki turned to Hayato. “What happened with Sagara, anyway?”
Hayato briefly explained, ending it with, “And then we ran away because no one needs to be electrocuted again.”
The samurai immediately looked a thousand times more terrified, and Yuki said, “YOU ran from a fight? When have you ever run? What, did you get a sudden sense of self-preservation?”
“Never mind that,” Hayato said, but looking at the samurai, he was starting to get an idea.
This samurai was terrified of Sagara. He could use that.
“You,” Hayato said. “Ronin.”
The samurai looked over at him, eyes wide.
“Sagara’s gonna be pretty damn pissed we got you,” Hayato said. “He’s not gonna let you off easy. He’s probably gonna kill you, let’s be real.”
He reached for his sword. “Now us, we won’t kill you unless you give us a reason. Your best bet is to join us. Have a new life. Survive. And all you gotta do is help us find our leader.”
And if you don’t, he added silently, pointing his sword at the samurai, I’ll happily kill you myself.
“There’s no catch?” the samurai said. “All you want is help finding your leader?”
“You’ll have to buy me coke,” Hayato said. “Daily. Fresh.”
The samurai started jumping up and down. “Oh! I love soda! We could–”
Hayato looked him dead in the eyes. “I don’t drink soda.”
The samurai froze and stared at him, now realizing what he meant.
“Recruitment’s my job,” Guren said. “I don’t trust this guy.”
“I don’t either,” Hayato said, “but he can take us to Katsura, and we have no time to lose. Remember, he could very well already be dead.”

Sword Art Online Progressive -Scherzo of Deep Night- Review
So in a move absolutely everyone saw coming, I manipulated my work schedule to go see the new Sword Art Online movie opening night, and I thought I would share some of my thoughts on it here. As an obligatory notice I will go in-depth on the movie here and touch on the novel it's based on, so spoilers abound. I'll put a little non-spoiler review here though just to be nice.
SPOILER-FREE REVIEW
Overall, this film is a more solid outing than it's predecessor. Instead of feeling like two different stories patched together, it stands as one cohesive work. Special recognition goes to the score and voice acting, while the animation leaves a little to be desired, especially in the climactic final battle.
PLOT
The biggest issue I had with the first movie, Aria, is that it feels like two separate plots kind of haphazardly put together, which is largely due to the fact that half of it is original content. Scherzo doesn't have this issue, as it stays much closer to it's source work. The biggest changes lie in the complete erasure of the Elf War campaign (for understandable reasons), and Nezuha being swapped for Mito in the final battle (which I knew was going to happen the first time she appeared in promotional artwork). Overall, the story hits the same beats - Kirito and Asuna catch wind of a plot orchestrated by the proto-Laughing Coffin to get the Aincrad Liberation Squad to attempt the floor five boss and get a rare item that would disrupt the power balance, and decide to put together a crack team of trusted allies to beat them to it. The story itself is solid, and it's further bolstered by some sublime fight scenes. A major weakness, though, is several mentions of events that have not been depicted in the anime in any form that are treated like given knowledge, and with the next project in the SAO portfolio being an original story, it seems unlikely any of these things will be shown in the near future.
ANIMATION
This seems like it would be a given for a high-budget movie in one of the biggest anime franchises of the 2010's, but I still feel the need to address it. Given some slight reshuffling of staff for these movies, I've noticed a major, glaring weakness in the animation, and it's that the faces are ridiculously awkward compared to earlier entries. I know part of this is probably owed to the decision to make the characters visibly younger, but a lot of shots are just off, like the animators didn't have a good reference sheet or just weren't used to drawing these characters this way. And dear God, the CG model on the final boss looks like it was ripped out of a fucking PS2 game. Even the boss monsters in the original Aincrad arc at least kind of fit the visual style of the anime. I visibly cringed at the first shot of it, and a couple people in the theatre made comments about it too.
SCORE
This is the easiest part for me- the music! It's fucking awesome. Yuki Kajiura has slowly been incorporating more electronics into her work, and it's most prominent on Fuscus the Vacant Colossus, my favorite track on the album. It's a nine-minute banger.
VOICE OVER
I can't comment on the dub (yet), but the Japanese voice work is great as usual.
DIFFERENCES FROM THE SOURCE
Yes, I'm doing this. I've read this book about eight times since it came out and I'd like to point out the changes made, but I'm only gonna list off the major ones because I don't feel like doing everything.
Flour foor boss fight, Viscount Yofilis was absent entirely
Kirito and Asuna's duel was cut
Changes to the dungeon sequence
Mild changes to the DKB/ALS party scheme
Mito/Asuna duel is original to the movie, as is her inclusion in the boss fight
Kirito alone encounters PoH at the end
Anyway, that's my opinion. Overall, if you enjoyed Aria, you'll probably like this too. However, unless you're super into the series, you can probably stand to wait for it to hit streaming services.

The Butler
Chapter 10: Butler's Trial
Pg 7 (Previous, Next)
Rating: T for Teen
He had barely made a show of drying his already dry eyes when the jury of fae and demons had returned. There was a speaker from both sides, holding papers in their hands. One was a fae woman, scowling deeply and glowing mustard yellow. She looked stuffy, not a hair in her bun out of place and her little pinched face with black eyes stern. The other was a purple demon woman with four eyes and short purple hair, soft around the middle and standing tall. She looked far too gentle.
“Jury, you may speak,” Queen Aikaterine beckoned.
“We of the jury find this man guilty,” the fae woman said. Her voice was high, and hurt Butler’s ears. “Unanimously.”
“Even we of the demon side,” the purple woman said. Her voice was even, almost sweet. “Despite the fact that we see that this man gave the fae exactly what he said he would give, it was not what was expected. He is guilty of tricking the fae royals.”
“The vote to punish the offender,” The yellow mustard woman went on, her black eyes narrowing as she glanced at the purple one. They were both so ugly in their own unique ways.. “Is six to four, with half in favor of a heavy punishment, and the other half claiming he has already been punished.”
“Then it falls to us royals,” Queen Aikaterine said. “I find our Butler guilty. What of you, your fae highnesses? Prince Yuki?”
“Oh, he’s definitely guilty,” Prince Yuki said, his stupid teenage voice- as deep as it was- so cheerful. “But I do think he’s already been punished.”
Anger rose in Butler’s stomach anyways, despite knowing this was what his royals must do. They must take the side of those he had wronged to keep their peace. He wondered what inane thing he would be asked for. The air was beginning to smell different, the bit of luck he had caught wind of shifting. Luck was fickle, in the end. It never did like to stay on one side.
“Guilty, without a doubt,” King Mifispectuus said. “I did not live through the pain of having a potential child ripped from my hands to not find him so.”
“And I find that my emotional damage outweighs the punishment we have already given,” Queen Liita said. “I demand repercussions for that alone.”
“Then I am for one final punishment,” Queen Aikaterine said. “For your emotional damage, Queen Liita.”
Butler felt something in his chest deflate, and the fear spark in his stomach. He knew he had asked Queen Aikaterine and the prince not to be dragged back to the fae realms, but what if they let him be dragged back anyways? What if that had all been a bluff to get him to easily go along with the trial, and the questions? Queen Liita and King Mifispectuus would have done it that way, tricking him into divulging his own secrets so he could splay himself flat. He wondered if giving him a sword to die on had been a lie, too-
The fear was gripping. The panic took hold in his chest.
Queen Aikaterine shifted in her throne, standing. “Of course, the jury and both of us must decide on the proper punishment, as he is both our Butler, don’t you think, Queen Liita? King Mifispectuus?”
Butler’s heart soared. It was like she had put her calming hand right on it, pulling back the fear just enough for him to breathe. That was his queen! He relished the sour looks on the fae king and Queen’s faces. They wouldn’t go to war for something like this. The fae royals wouldn’t risk their peace for this.

OHMIGOSH SUNNY HIIIIIIIIIII bro you know you don't have to stay anon you can totally come hang out with us!!! the bnnuy sandtrap is a welcoming place I prommy
I am brought the GREATEST joy by seeing Ela's art getting appreciated!!! she's got access to the Sword Lifted draft so I routinely get suprise-blasted with incredible art and then I'm like I NEED TO YELL TO SOMEONE ABOUT THIS, ARE YOU SEEING THIS SHIT the colours, the expressions, the incredibly good shape language....... I think you're entirely right in saying that Yuki's whole upper body is YOKED, dude swings a sword around with *both hands*, he's strong as hell
honestly preemptive RIP for all of us because whenever Ela draws big Tetsuya + Yusuke feelings stuff I just immediately collapse fhdlsfhsd we got really into the weeds about how the two of them really Get what it's like expecting Keiko to be around and then noticing her absence deeply - Yuki does too ofc but. y'know
Tumblr media
pain
Anyway YES Ken will not be free from getting his ass whooped, but he does bring it on himself..... and ueueueueue thank you so much, I'm glad you liked it??? ;w; the draft of Sword Lifted just surpassed 100k words, it's literally the biggest thing I've ever written, I'm so lost in the sauce, and hearing that even one other person is enjoying it makes me so happy I'm gonna sob into my tea about it GRACIAS FR
THE DOLLS ARE BACK AND WETTER, SADDER, CUTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER!!!
Yuki's DRENCHED, that poor bnnuy boy. I never knew how much I needed to see a wet pathetic rabbit until now. He looks like he'd make a wet splat sound if he was slapped on a wall (like throwing a soaked towel on tile.)
TETSU AND YUSUKE NOOOOO- There's so many emotionsss!!!! They're so disappointed in themselves, how could they let eachother down so terribly. But, God, they're so relieved to see eachother again. At the end of the day, they're still brothers and they love each other sososososo much. But they've made so many mistakes that hurt one another and themselves. It's so sad don't do this to meeee (jk, I LOVE ITTTTT)
and...the cuddles...the cuddles...THE CUDDLES!!
soff bunny's cuddling??? BIG BNUUY TUCK LIL BNUUY TO BEDD????? They're adorable pleaseeeee spareee meeeee aaaahhhhhh. I know for a FACT it HAD to have hurt Yusuke that he doesn't remember him...like, not even ONE bit??? after all the cuddles and games of peek-a-boo? not a single memory? that definitely stung. unsurprising considering Yuki's age at the time, but still hard to think about for sure.
and martial arts bunny's??? guys...they're so strong ya'll, DON'T mess with them!!! Don't let the fluff deceive you, they're not cute pet store bunny's!!
Not sure if it's the sharp lining style or Yuki's muscles, but i'm choosing to believe Yuki has fat biceps, yeah he's super strong ya'll.
also, Ken getting his ass handed to him buy an 18 year old?? get humbled old-young man
anyway's back into the abyss I go, lots of love and kisses to You and Rhin!!! (Also Rhin if you're reading this, the new UTSLH update was so delicious i'm foaming from the mouth!!!! expect a comment sometime soon, love youuu 🫶)
- 😎
OH YEEAHH AND YOU'RE BACK TOO!!! WELCOME!!!
I really REALLY needed to try my hand at doing wet fur, the images wouldn't leave my brain jhdfjg "He looks like he'd make a wet splat sound if he was slapped on a wall" YESSS OH THAT WAS THE EXACT GOAL, GOOD. I will say these are mostly inspired by yet-to-be-released Sword Lifted chapters sooo... spoilers without context? But here, enjoy our delightful Wet Yuki commentary:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
AWH MAN I've been drawing Tetsu A LOT lately (and I will dO IT AGAIN) but I realized I hadn't really drawn that many sibling moments between him and Yusuke, so there's THE COMFOOORT! My thought with that one was them comforting each other about having lost Keiko. Tetsuya is not one to cry often at all, but Keiko was his whole world for twenty-five years of his life. That kind of pain doesn't go away so easily... It's so good that they both can have someone to grieve with now, though. They don't have to go through this alone!!
Oh it definitely stung Yusuke that his nephew doesn't remember him, and it's really weird on Yuki's part too! Rhin and I keep going back to discussing Yuki's characterization in Sword Lifted just because the situation on his part is so strange it's impossible to "react accordingly". This guy you don't remember and whom nobody told you about was almost like an older brother to you and played with you and cradled you to sleep as a baby, how wild is that??? But listen, I do know if anyone was going to look at this situation in the most practical, polite and straightforward way, it would be Yuki.
THEY'RE BATTLE BNNUYYYS you know, for being a samurai-inspired AU on an action shonen show's setting, I sure don't draw as much actual samurai-ing as I should djfgjdf I NEED TO REMEDY THAT, I'm really itching to do some big dramatic illustrations, but my to-draw list just keeps getting larger and larger with bunny stuff..... awh lord save me.
Oh Yuki is definitely all steel under that fur for sure for sure. I feel like I tend to draw characters scrawnier than they'd realistically be, but it's kind of my brain unconsciously going LITTLE BOY djfdgf to be honest Yusuke, Ken and Mari are the ones I'm generally more conscious about, when it comes to body types? Just because Rhin made a really good point of them being Big Guy, Tall Slim Guy and Hourglass Woman and I'm so weak about SHAPES. But also as I keep improving with my anatomy I try to be more aware of what the body types of my OCs are, and how to show that with time too.
AND RHIN SAYS HI BACK!!!
Tumblr media
It's always a delight to have you buddy 💕 Stay tuned for more rabbits!!!

“I’m back. . .” a young man said, tired from work.
Two other young men are waiting for him sitting at the table, one looking excited, and one looking nervous.
“Welcome back Rei!” The excited one said. This boy is about 20 years old with pink hair and a medium build, in a white t-shirt and basketball shorts.
“W-welcome back. . .” The shy one muttered, this boy is about 19 years old with short silver hair and a thinner build.
Rei walks over to the pink-haired boy and gives him a kiss on the forehead “I missed you today at work Yuki”. He then turned to the silver-haired boy “Oh and Ven came to visit too!”
Ven blushed a bit and sunk down on his chair.
“What's up with him today. . . “ Rei thought to himself “I know he has a crush on me but today is a bit odd. . . “
Yuki looked at Rei with a smirk on his face “Well he’s visiting because. . . you always said you want to do ‘it’ with another person!”
Ven turned a bit more red.
“W-wait. . .you can’t be serious!” Rei said, with a mix of excitement and nervousness.
Yuki hugged Ven from behind “Yup! He even agreed~ Lets go go go!”
Yuki grabbed both Rei and Ven and walked into the living room.
“Is this really okay?” Rei thought to himself. But before he could ask, Yuki rips off Rei’s close and stares at Rei’s hard shaft.
“I see he’s excited for this too!” Yuki thought as he began to suck on Rei’s dick.
Rei moans as his hard sword disappears into Yuki’s sheath.
“Mmmm… mmmm” Yuki moan in pleasure as his body warmed up “I feel so warm. . .Its starting!”
As yuki sucked, his limbs start to shrink and retract into his clothing. His skin turning reddish with black stripes going around his body.
“I can feel my insides turning hollow! Shit I wish I can stay like this forever” Yuki thought as his head began to shrink, his clothes falling to the ground.
Soon his body has become a red sock with black stripes wrapped around Rei’s cock.
“You look pretty hot today!” Rei says, picking up Yuki’s new body, still pulsating and twitching with joy.
“No way. . .” Ven thought, staring at awe of the sock that used to be his brother.
Rei slipped Yuki onto his right foot and lifted it up to Ven.
“Want a whiff?”
Ven walked by and sniffed Rei’s foot “It smells like Yuki’s foot. . .” He gasped.
“Yup its still him in there and now its your turn!”
Yuki was shocked nervously. “Maybe its a bit soon. . .” He thought to himself
“Knew he was nervous. . .guess I’ll helped him” Rei chuckled as he put his hand on Van’s chin and pulls him in for a kiss.
The two begin to make out.
“I-i’m kissing Rei! I never thought I’d get the chance to!” Ven thought, his mind blanking out “I-it feels so hot right now. . .my insides feel like they are melting. . .my limbs are going. . . numb. . .” He thought. His skin starts turning into a gray color as his limbs also start sinking in. “Mind. . .blanking. . . f-feet. .  .must have feet. . .” Ven’s body starts to shrink like Yuki’s until he becomes a short gray sock.
Rei takes Ven out of his mouth and gives it a nice sniff
“Smells just like Ven’s feet, but I wish these two brothers would at least transform into a matching pair. . . oh well at least I finally get to wear two guys!” Rei says smiling, putting Ven on.
“How’d you like it?” A voice sounds in Ven’s head.
“W-who’s there??” Ven thought.
“Its me Yuki!”
“B-but how?” Ven thought.
Rei spoke up “When you turn into someone’s clothing, a psychic link is made between everyone, merging our minds. . . and Ven your mind is pretty interesting.”
“C-crap he knows now?!” Ven panicked, if he had a face still it would be bright red. “But who cares this feels so good to be worn by Rei!”
“Thats the spirit. . .time to go for a run in you two!” Rei said putting on some compression tights and shorts. He moves to the door and looks at Ven’s shoes.
“S-sure. . .” Ven though.
“Sweet!” Rei says putting on Ren’s shows.
“This psychic link is cool! I can smell the inside of the shoe! Its getting me so hard but gotta go for a run first!”
Rei runs out the door in Ven’s shoes.
“He’s crushing me. . .feels so good! Step on me daddy!” Ven thought with every step.
“His sweat smells so good! Gotta absorb it!” Ven thought as Rei’s feet start sweating.
“Sweat, yum! Feet! FEET” Ven’s thoughts started blanking out into his new role.
“Looks like he’s having the time of his life!” Yuki thought.
After doing a few laps around the block, Rei goes back into the apartment and takes off Ven’s shoes, giving them a sniff.
He then moves to the couch and lifts up his feet smelling them.
“Looks like these two have taken on my scent!” Rei thought
“W-whats gonna happen now?” Ven thought
“Once you guys have taken on my scent then you guys won’t be able to transform back unless I say so!” Rei smirked.
Yuki’s voice chimed “Lets finish this!”
Rei took Yuki and Ven off and wrapped them both around his cock, first Ven and then Yuki over him.
Rei then starts to masturbate with Yuki and Ven wrapped around his member.
“W-what do you mean by finish??” Ven asked nervously.
“You’ll see!” Yuki thought with glee as they feel Rei speeding up.
“Ohh these two are so hot!” Rei thought to himself. The feeling of the two socks twitching in lust massaging his cock fills his mind.
“This feels. . .so good! More cock more feet!!” Ven thought as his mind goes blank again as he massages Rei rock hard cock.
Yuki begins to twitch and move his body around, pleasuring both Rei and Ven.
“C-can’t hold it!” Rei says, trying to hold his cum back, as precum flows out of him.
“No! I want your cummies!” Ven thought as he start to twist his sock body around too like Yuki.
The combined effort and lust of all three boys filled Rei’s head as he can no longer hold himself back.
Streams of cum jets out of Rei’s cock into Ven and then Yuki, covering the boys in Rei’s cum.
As the sperm coats Yuki and Ven’s sock bodies, their voices fade as they become just two socks covered in cum. No other thoughts fill their head besides, “Cum. . .Feet” fill the two former boy’s heads, succumbing to their new life as socks.
Rei can still feel their minds inside their sock bodies, but they could no longer move nor communicate with each other.
Rei peels the brothers off of his now flaccid cock and licks them a bit.
“Now you two will stay just socks until I clean you off.” He giggles as he puts the two on again.
“Don’t worry I’ll turn you guys back eventually, there's all sorts of naughty stuff for us to do together Ven.” Rei says passing out from joy.

Hello!
Ikemen sé request
the warlords realizing that Mc is very popular with their soldiers. Sending love letters and stuff.
IkeSen Boys + Popular!MC
This was so cute ahhh although I'm sorry if it's a little short, there's a lot of Ikemen to get through. Thank you and I hope you like this work!
Nobunaga Oda
Nobunaga thought it was quite odd that there were a lot of presents delivered to you... Which he didn't gift...
After some digging, he found out that you had garnered some popularity after a campaign
He was dumbfounded at the idea that other men could be attracted to you
He didn't quite like that, but being the person he is he did tell you his thoughts
You insisted that you wanted to keep some gifts to distribute to your maids. He agreed, but he just buys better gifts for you anyway
He's not as jealous as you'd expect, since the man is also a bit egotistical when it comes to himself and your feelings for him
"Oh... Nobunaga..." You wanted to laugh at how childish he was but it wouldn't be in the right taste.
You stopped your giggling when Nobunaga muttered, "I could transfer whoever sent those gifts to you away..."
"At least let me keep some!"
He silenced you with a quick kiss. "Whatever you like from the pile, I'll purchase better ones from the merchants."
Hideyoshi Toyotomi
He doesn't want to admit that he's jealous, but he is. He unknowingly calls out the soldier that was about to gift you a present in an oh so convenient timing…
He doesn't take it to such extremes, he still respects the other soldiers. Although, he found it quite tempting from time to time to not bring you along for some campaigns
In this case, he wished that Nobunaga hadn't demanded such things of you. He really does appreciate your skills on the field, but he doesn't like that he can't control how much attention you're getting
He only realises it once someone points it out to him, or when someone sends you a letter. Letters are an absolute no from him
"Lord Hideyoshi, what should I do with these letters for YN?"
"Burn them."
"Lord Hideyoshi, what should I do with these letters from the townswomen?"
"Oh, send them to my office-"
YN smacked Hideyoshi up in the head. "You hypocrite."
Mitsunari Ishida
Mitsunari did notice that you gained a lot of attention, but he knew that it was only from your good merits and character
In no way did he ever thought it was romantic, until Mitsuhide pointed it out
He wasn't sure how to feel about it. Sure, he was happy that a lot of people thought you were a wonderful person
However a small inkling of him wanted to keep it to himself
Seeing the multitude of gifts for you, the guilt hit him hard. What if you wanted gifts all along?
"YN, do you like it when those soldiers give you gifts?" He asked, as you opened another gift that consisted of a bunch of fabrics.
"I do appreciate it," You admitted. "But I don't plan to keep them for long. I share any snacks with the maids and fabrics with the seamstresses. Why?"
He didn't reply, except for the blush that bloomed on his cheeks.
You pecked his cheek, understanding what he meant. "You have no reason to be jealous, my sweet angel."
Mitsuhide Akechi
Not a lot of people can read him, and he uses that to his advantage. He sneaks up on those who had planned to give you gifts, and instead direct their attention to another maid or townswoman
In the end, with this strategy, you don't receive much gifts from soldiers. This doesn't work on his fellow warlords however
With you, he doesn't hide his frown when people like Shingen or Masamune send you gifts
He doesn't care for what reason it was for, the gift shall not be touched by you
"Mitsuhide? Have you seen a package from Masamune? He sent some really pretty Oshu fabrics for me…"
He sipped on his bland concoction of tea. "Why my dear, I wonder where it could be…"
You sighed. "You gave it away didn't you? Now I have to write to Masamune- Ah!"
Before you could continue any thoughts, your charming kitsune sweeped you up in his arms, smiling coyly at you. "Write to him? I'm afraid my jealousy won't allow that YN… I'd certainly be interested in writing my thoughts of you on your body…"
Ieyasu Tokugawa
Ieyasu surprisingly doesn't notice any traffic of gifts to you. It might be due to the fact that he publicly ban any gifters from his estate…
You still manage to get some from soldiers passing by or Ieyasu's fellow warlords gifting you as a token of appreciation
Only when you bring the gift home is when he realises how popular you are. He doesn't initially care, but similarly to Hideyoshi, he gets rid of any letters
He doesn't burn them, but he moreso stages it so you'd see adorable Wasabi chewing on the papers
"Hey Ieyasu? Oh-" You dropped to your knees, seeing Wasabi with some paper in its mouth once again. "Wasabi, you should know better than to chew on my letters! Ha… Looks like I have to apologise later on."
"Do you even remember the soldier that gave you the letter?" He looked up from his work to ask you.
You pouted. "No… But I'm sure I can ask around!"
He patted you head. "Don't waste your time on that. The maids should be done with dinner now. Let's go and eat."
Masamune Date
He notices your popularity early on, but he's not too bothered about it. In fact, he shows off that you and him are in a relationship
It might be a 'rubbing salt in wound' move but he doesn't care. He has a thrill of seeing some of his jealous subordinates, which he trusts that it is in all good favour
With the way he approached it, most admired you in a non-romantic way, and for those few that actually do, Masamune opts for a duel as a 'wholesome' way to solve the solution
The duels end up with him winning, and the challenger often with some pointers from Masamune during fighting
You wiped off Masamune's sweat from his brow, wondering why he suddenly went up to that random soldier. "Did something happen?"
"Didn't he give you that gift earlier?" He asked, confused. He put up a good fight, although he'd probably have to answer to Hideyoshi since the boy was under his army…
You shook your head. "It wasn't. He has a twin, and the twin is working under Mitsunari…"
Masamune stood up, groaning. "Looks like I have another duel YN. I'll be back by dinner!"
"H-Hoi! Masamune!"
Kenshin Uesugi
Jealousy plus Uesugi Kenshin equals disaster in Kasugayama Castle
Kenshin was shocked when he saw the servants carrying the presents in, specifically addressed to 'Princess YN'
No one could stop him from drawing his sword and rushing to the training grounds, where every poor soldier who passed by was forced to duel him
Yukimura and Sasuke were already battered from the multiple duels they had to face. You pitied the poor souls, so you sent some of your maids to heal up the soldiers that faced his wrath
Holding one of your many bunny children, you walked up to your soon-to-be husband, smiling at him. "Kenshin my dear, we should be on our way to our stroll…"
He tugged off the upper part of his kimono, his torso and upper body dripping with sweat from the fights. "I'll be with you YN, I just need to cool off. I shouldn't dirty you with my sweat."
For as much as you wanted to be proper, you couldn't help but stare at your perfectly sculpted fiance. "T-Take you time my dear."
Sasuke Sarutobi
For the many things he was dense about, this was not one of them. He saw the way some of the Nokizaru looked at you
He of course told them off, but he still had an inkling that some didn't get the memo
Within whatever wisdom he had left, he somehow consulted Kenshin on how to resolve this, which ended up Sasuke battling about half of the Nokizaru
You had no words on why half the men were injured and why your boyfriend was bruised as well. Initially you thought it was from some dispute, but Yukimura so kindly filled you in
You tightened the bandage around Sasuke's arm, giving a disappointed look to the group of ninja. "What do you have to say for yourselves?"
"We're sorry Princess YN."
"And what do you have to say, Sarutobi Sasuke?" You huffed.
"I won't go to Kenshin for romantic advice."
"Good."
Shingen Takeda
He is not oblivious to your charms, as well as the way other people were attracted to your charms
He'd be lying if he said he weren't jealous. Of course he was, but he didn't plan to do anything malicious to whoever sent you gifts
They were free to waste their money and/or time, it wasn't his business. He'd however, make it clear that you were taken
He's not above doting you in public, and sneaking kisses in the markets or kissing you as the rain goes by. He's very calm about it, since he sees the way you were attracted to him
"S-Shingen! We're going to a war council!" You patted his face away from your own, as the much taller man held you in his embrace.
"Embarrassed Princess?" He teased, giving you his sweetest smile reserved just for you. "But we've done many affectionate things in public…" "People will see!"
He kissed your cheek. "Let them see how in love we are."
Yukimura Sanada
He is another victim of Kenshin's not-so great love advice, hesitating to pick up his spear at anyone who sent you glances. Well… it was Kenshin's advice… and no way he'd risk getting teased by Shingen by asking him!
He then opted for a silent jealous strategy, keeping you by him and covering you with his body everytime he felt someone looking at you
You wondered why he was acting so odd, after all, you just wanted to go on a nice stroll with Yuki and Muramasa
Luckily, to Yuki's benefit, Muramasa is a good wolf who knows to rip apart any letters that come to you or hound after any men that look at you the wrong way
"Is it just me, or is Muramasa a little more energetic than usual?" You asked your boyfriend as you folded your kimono underneath you to sit on the impromptu picnic blanket.
Yuki shook his head, handing you over the basket of food. "He's probably just excited to see us… I think…" He said, as Muramasa runs off into the bushes with what he could see was a paper in his mouth.
Kennyo
Kennyo doesn't really know what to do with this information. He's quite unsure if you wanted the attention or not
He thought the issue didn't need to be brought to your attention, as most of those around you are most likely his subordinates
He could… simply remind them of the holistic teachings that was preached to them
It does a good effect, as most quickly dispelled any sort of romantic attraction
He doesn't mind his subordinates admiring you out of respect, as he thinks you deserve such respect for your deeds
You clapped your hands after hearing your boyfriend's sermons. "You impress me every time my beloved," You said, pecking him on the cheek. "I'm always in awe when you deliver your preachings."
He shied away from you, "My dear, you praise me so…" He couldn’t stop repeating those praises over and over in his head, wanting to pen down the exact words you said. "Thank you YN."

titled “shin shin”.txt
came across a post... a long, long while ago about a god of death type reader and got super interested, since of all the cyikemen games, ikesen is the one most surrounded by death on a larger scale (cause, war and stuff), so i wrote this at... 2020? almost one year before, at 21th of july. i had more of it written, but i really didn’t like it cause it felt too “quirky wattpad reader” and plus me just copying from the original prlogue without adding anything, so... yeah. enjoy!
(also, very important that anyone who wants to do whatever with this idea, feel free, no need to ask me)
You didn’t like your existence
To call it “your life” would be simply wrong; you don’t breathe, you don’t eat, you don’t sleep. All you are is a walking, talking existence that has a job to do until you fade away. You didn’t even like your job.
To lead a soul from their death to the Land of the Dead was a grim job. You learnt their regrets, their anger, their sadness, all which you knew was personal. But you had to be there. You had to ensure that their soul is at peace, so when the time comes to cross to the afterlife, they don’t get reincarnated as a ghost, stuck forever with their past emotions.
Shinigami, was your kinds’ name. God of Death.
You were a part of the blanket term ‘yokai’, or as some would call in other names such as ‘ayakashi’. Those who fall under the category were spirits, demons, animal-like creatures, or, similar to you, gods. For as long as you’ve known, supernatural creatures didn’t mesh with humans well most of the time.
Fear of unknown from both parties led to anger, rashness, and cut communication and involvement altogether for perhaps half your life.
You’ve existed for long; you stopped remembering the exact number after 1.000 years. All you did now was remember the year you came to the world, and do the math. But that doesn’t matter much, does it? The only thing you concerned yourself with is when you’ll fade away.
However, for your own sake, you do take a break. Such a job is heavy for the heart, and a walk doesn’t help as much, but it’s a nice thing nonetheless.
Kyoto. You were just done leading a soul that got caught in a traffic accident. You never traveled outside of the country, but would it really matter if you did? You still appreciated everything as it were; there has to be some light in a life to look forward to.
This particular city was rich in human history, you knew that. Maybe it’d be a fun thing to do, even if you didn’t have much an interest in it.
“All your famous warlord knowledge, packed in a mag! Come get one now!” A boy’s shouts filled the nearby streets, attracting attention from the occasional passerby’s. Including you. A Quick Guide To Your Warlords, the magazine read on the cover. Sounds interesting, and you were bored, so you took one and stuffed it in your pocket.
With a blank mind, you were brought forth to a temple by your wandering legs. Honno-ji. A small, quiet, quaint place. The setting sky burned up above as the small cries of the crickets sounded all around.
You’ve heard some stories of the small memorial in front of you. One of the unifiers of Japan died here—betrayed, as you remembered. But you can’t draw an exact name.
While drowning in your thoughts, the approaching presence coming to you was acknowledged but not paid mind to further. Until you shift your eyes to the side as said figure was in your peripheral vision—a man dressed in a lab coat. The two of you said no words, only continuing to gaze at the stone in front of you.
You only started to react when the sky above you turned darker and darker—not by the setting sun, but by the awfully black and almost purple clouds gathering up above you. That’s unusual, you’ve never seen anything like that in your life.
The once bright and bold sky now rained down drops of water on your face. You didn’t even notice you shifted to your human form—and a look at your hands covered in specks of droplets confirmed that.
“What poor timing.” The man next to you said, causing your eyes to glance at him. He looked solemnly to the monument, then to you, “Are you alright? Do you have an umbrella?”
“No, unfortunately. I didn’t expect it to rain. . .” your eyes linger to above his head, where a set of numbers and a small text was visible to you only. The death profile, as the others call. A set of information that shinigamis can see in most creatures, usually entailing their names, time of death, and cause of it.
It’s a cursing bit of information; always reminding you of what you are.
Out of nowhere, a thunder ripped through the clouds and hit directly on the small monument—a loud crackle following along. Your arm flew up to protect the man next to you by reflex, as your body stood there in momentary shock. You’ve seen death by  lightning, but that was unlikely to happen now.
You whipped your head towards the human next to you, who seems the slightest bit appalled, but stood his ground. A strange thing catches your attention. . .
His death date. It’s flickering—changing.
From a century where he was supposed to die. . .to the 15-16th century.
A date of death changing has been a rare thing that happens, however unlikely, but—it’s never jumped that far before! To the past, too?
Utter shock froze you in place as the numbers flicker back and forth, leading your attention away from everything else—him asking you if you were okay, and most importantly—
—the black ball that formed where the stone was.
“Watch ou—“ before you can warn the man, the image of him next to you twisted and distorted, slowly getting sucked in whatever it was.
And so were you.
Wait! He isn’t supposed to die yet—!
The world faded to black.
       Ugh. . .my head. . .
Your vision fades in and out, clear then blurry, until you’re finally wide awake. The scenery around you changed drastically, what was first a small place in the city of Kyoto is now. . .a dark forest. You’ve seen this kind of environment before in your memories—you just don’t know how you got here.
The lab coat guy—!
You immediately stood up from the dirt beneath you, looking around and trying to sense his soul around you. Nothing. Pursing your lips in slight unease, you started making your way through the criminally underlighted woods.
You’ve roamed around in the forest before. Most of your time on this world, you didn’t settle in a house or anything, you preferred to just wander around like a lost ghost. You didn’t have a need for one—you don’t need shelter, not food, not clothes, nor drinks. You were a lost ghost.
The branches and rocks and whatever else you tripped on didn’t bother you. All you were focusing on is now just. . .walking. Without even a set destination. The only guidance you had was the occasional moonlight that peeked through the trees up above.
As minutes pass by, you start feeling a faint presence of human souls.
It’s distant, and not much from how weak it is, but I should go and see.
All other senses were rendered useless for now as you focused on the source of the souls, and slowly marched your way to it. It grew closer and closer, until you saw a faint light coming in the middle of the forest.
Two people, you now concluded. Your footsteps remained silent and your presence unknown as you creep near the light.
A fire was set in a small clearing, and you can now see the two people. A man with dark hair, dressed in monk’s clothes and a scar marking his face, with another feminime-looking boy, purple-haired in armor.
“Are you ready for this, Ranmaru?” The monk spoke in a low voice. “You’re about to kill the demon. Bring him down for good.”
Kill, huh. An assassination was about to commence.
“. . .Yes, Master Kennyo.” The boy—Ranmaru—spoke, wavering in unease but still tried to be certain.
‘Master Kennyo’ smiled; a bitter, unresting one, “Good. They’ve light the fire at Honno-ji, arrive there and kill him. I will follow shortly once the fire has spread,”
“. . .Understood.”
Clutching his sword until it shook in his hand, Ranmaru turned around and walked off from the clearing.
You overheard the conversation and calmly watched his figure fade away. It isn’t your place to intervene—not if this is fate, but even so—you’ll follow him. At least you can rest the soul of the victim.
In silent steps trailing him, you heard a last piece from Kennyo. “Finally, we’ll have our revenge. . .”
You took your time in following Ranmaru’s path. If whoever’s assassinated dies, it’s soul will still remain until they can go to the afterlife. Time stops for them as long as it takes to get their soul guided away from the living land. Is it immoral in a way? Perhaps.
Unless. . .you can stop them from getting killed. But often when you try to intervene, the death happens either way.
So what’s the point?
Nihilistic thoughts aside, you sensed more human souls coming your way; five, from what you can tell. But you paid no mind to that. Until it got nearer, and nearer, and nearer, and—
“Oof.” In your blank stated mind, you bumped into someone, causing them to huff in surprise. You yourself paused and looked—a brown haired man wearing red armor, “Hey, watch where you’re going—!”
His complaints died on his tongue as soon as he finally saw who he bumped into. His expression, from a slightly irritated frown, turned more into one of confusion, “Huh? Hey, what’s someone like you doing here in the woods? Nighttime, also? Such weird clothing, too. . .”
His spoken words made you raise an eyebrow, “Ignoring all that, I’m sorry for bumping into you. I just had some business is all.”
“In the dead of night? What are you, an. . .enchantress? Those stories of w-witches in the forest?” The man’s voice wavered more with each passing word. The quirk in your eyebrow deepens.
“I assure you, I’m not—“
“Yuki~! We leave you for a few seconds and you’ve already found yourself a partner?” A velvet and rich voice arose from behind the dark bushes and trees, all of them being pushed aside to reveal an auburn haired man, this one more built in his body.
The one you’ve been talking to—Yuki—blushed and shook his head vehemently, “Ugh, no! I’m not like you; we just bumped into each other is all. And I think it’s some kind of witch, too—”
The redhead man tutted at Yuki in a disapproving manner, “Now, now, Yuki. Have I not taught you how to talk properly in front of such a beauty all this time?” His attention turns to you, and in a second, his eyes lit in passion, “Forgive me for his prudeness, my goddess, dear Yuki needs a lot more lessons than I thought. However. . .if you want to be with a real man, I’m always up for service.”
“Will you stop flirting with everything you meet. It’s disgusting.”
Three more people emerge from the shadows, the small bits of moonlight pouring to their features. The one who spoke was a blond one, cladded in blue armor and with eyes that said he wanted to have nothing to do with any of this.
“But Kenshin, you can’t just turn away at such a beauty laid in front of your eyes.” The flirt replied to the cold comment with a smirk.
“Stop. Or I’ll kill you.”
The bickering of the two were left unnoticed as another man with dark blue hair stepped up, far closer than what you were expecting. His hand reaches and caresses lightly on your clothes, “I have never seen such a design or material like this before. How fascinating. Would you like to switch with one of my kimonos?”
“Yoshimoto, I’ve already claimed them! Don’t steal them right under my nose.” Flirt Man threw a light complaint, turning away from Kenshin for a moment.
“Art is to be appreciated by everyone, Shingen.” Yoshimoto simply responds, now tugging lightly at the sleeves of your shirt.
Okay, you’ll admit it. You’re slightly overwhelmed.
So far, you haven’t said anything, mainly because you don’t want to. It feels like anything you say won’t make the situation better anyway. But still. . .even in your long life, this is quite bizzare.
You observed each of them one by one. Then your eyes landed to the last one, the same brown haired man you saw earlier. Now, in. . .some sort of ninja attire. While you tilted your head in slight curiosity, you’re at least satisfied to see he was safe.
And his death date has changed, too. . .
Speaking of death, you’re finally reminded of following. . .who was it, Ranmaru? to an assassination.
Gently freeing yourself from Yoshimoto’s admiring touches to your clothes, you bowed slightly in front of them, “I appreciate meeting all of you, but I have to go.”
You don’t see Sasuke opening his mouth to say something, and neither do the others, as you walked off to the darkness.
You thought by losing your way from your unofficial guide, you wouldn’t find the destination. But luckily, even going in the same direction as he did led you to it. Honno-ji. This time, it’s in the midst of drowning in fire. You made your way through the front door and entered where the fire wouldn’t reach you—but it wouldn’t make a difference anyway.
And in the middle of the room not yet entirely covered in flames, was who you assume the victim, sleeping. The cause of death, “died in an assassination while the building was set on fire”, said as much. Dressed in black armor, you could tell he was important, somehow. Not everyone can casually wear one, despite the past few people you’ve met been donning it.
The text displayed above the man’s head displayed the same old. Nobunaga Oda.
On the other side, you see a silhouette approaching steadily, sword in hand. Ranmaru, you guessed. You double checked yourself to make sure you weren’t visible to the human’s eye, and you were just fine with watching another death as you have—
Until, for the second time today, the death date for Nobunaga Oda flickered.
You froze as what was 21st of July, 1582, blinked into a later date. Much later.
What. . .?! That was the second time today—what am I supposed to—
Your chest felt heavy, and your hands trembled in uncertainty of what you should do. Do you save him? Watch him die? Would he even die at this moment? Or would it be later? You’ve never been in this position—the answer was always clear. And now you’re terrified.
Your body swayed back and forth violently, as two sides fought in your head of what to do. But time was running out—he’d be assassinated if you didn’t take this chance. And he’d die. That’s the same as you killing him, you thought, and you’ve sworn to never do such a thing.
From your disarrayed thoughts, your legs moved on their own and walked to him. You’re saving him, then.

It was hard to face life these days... It wasn’t the first time she had felt like giving up. Even before she travelled 500 years back into the past and found the love of her life, those thoughts were like an annoying guest to her, coming and going as they wished. Back in the future it was alright, times were much more peaceful and she could go to any of her friends or to her family, sometimes even seeking professional help. But now… Now her family wasn’t even born and her friends were mostly his enemies, enemies of the one person she was ready to call her own world, Kenshin Uesugi, the man who had imprisoned her heart, body and destiny.
Nothing particularly bad happened, she just woke up one day and felt… empty. It haunted her from when she was a teen, ever since she lost herself because she wasn’t like other girls on Instagram... She didn’t know how to express her emotions, that was one thing she always struggled with. And being with Kenshin didn’t help her with that.
Kenshin had his own demons that haunted his mind. They left his dreams after she had helped him, but he was still helping himself and couldn’t help her. That’s why she was really happy when she had a chance to see Shingen and Yukimura. Shingen was wiser and older and dealing with his own demons so he could always spare some advice or lend a hearing ear which was helpful to her. She could barely go anywhere alone to scream and release every damned emotion she felt, so she’d find her antidote in her friend Yukimura. Yuki would always bring a smile to her face and to that she was very grateful.
But that bugged Kenshin. He was sickly jealous and didn’t want them to hear her beautiful voice, to smell her beautiful scent, to fell her warm embrace as they hugged her to make her feel better, but he couldn’t be there for her. He was a busy warlord with many enemies. So, the only way to stop those haunting voices in his head was to cut them off. He asked his once arch enemy and his vassal to never show up again or there will be a problem. Shingen understood the hidden motive behind his threatening request, he was painfully aware of his demons and didn’t want his friend that he cared about so deeply going down that damned spiral of self-destruction again. So they retreated back to their own land, silently apologizing to her in their heads.
With no one there for her anymore, a new wave of hopelessness washed over her leaving her in even worse state, but like a sign from any gods there are, Sasuke, her buddy from the future, was there with her. He was a busy man, after all he was Kenshin’s employee, his own ninja, but he could always find the time for her, because she was the reason he endured all those four long years of ninja training, only hoping to meet her again and be able to help her. And even if their plans have changed, they were still in this together. Sasuke would listen to her and help her, even whrn she was at her lower points, when she was too close to the rock bottom, he would be with her. He could see her pale face and how much skinner she had become in the last months compared to a year ago when she first arrived in this time period. She didn’t eat properly, she didn’t sleep enough and those thoughts, anxiety and stress were eating her from inside out, she even left her job as the seamstress and decided to sit out her days on the veranda, looking out at the miserable garden that was once full of beautiful flowers with prickly thorns that made her bleed and hurt Kenshin.
Kenshin was once again hurt by her relationship with Sasuke and he didn’t hesitate to pull his trusty sword Himetsuru-Ichimonji on him. He cared for Sasuke, deeply, but he couldn’t shut those horrible, distorted voices in his head that were growing louder by second, telling him the curse and blessing that followed him. He could not be harmed and killed in battle, but everyone around him that he cared and loved ended up getting hurt or dying out of his reach to help them. It was eating him inside out, leaving behind only a shell of a man he once was or could be and a glass heart in his chest, hard to break, but once broken, hardly put together again, slowly killing him…
Sasuke was forbidden from seeing or touching her, only if she was in immediate danger and Kenshin wasn’t there to run to her aid. That broke her, leaving her with barely any hope, not strong enough to outshine the darkness in her mind and soul anymore. With all her loved ones now abandoning her or being forbidden to see her due to the side she chose, she was almost completely alone. There was one last chance to stop it all, to prevent the turmoil that was coming.
She had been alone for a week now, looking for a way to punish herself for being so weak without hurting Kenshin. She looked at that dagger she received from Oda forces before she departed from them in case she ever needed to save herself. ‘Should I do it?’ was her thought as she stared at its blade, pressing it to her fingertip, testing it’s sharpness. It could easily slash someone’s throat in an instant without much pressure applied, she was sure of that as she almost cut her finger and dealt another punch to Kenshin’s still fragile heart. Healing process was never going to be easy, if she wasn’t aware of that before, she was now. She just hoped it would be quicker, but she knew better than to rush him and risk all the progress, all the baby steps they made, going down the drain…
She snapped out of it when she heard the footsteps down the hall, announcing the early return of her healing lover. She frantically hid the dagger. Making sure she doesn’t cut herself, for the sake of both of their sanity. He greeted her as he slid open the door, shutting it behind him when he saw her face with a plastered smile. She is glad he was home in one piece, but she couldn’t find a way to really smile again. Kenshin must’ve been tired because he sat on the futon waiting for her to come and cuddle with him, but she was holding herself back. Maybe she should just talk to him about her demons, he promised to protect her all his life after all. ‘Yeah, I should just talk to him, I love him. He deserves to know what’s going on.’ However when she saw that beautiful true smile on his face when he hugged her, placing an affectionate kiss on top of her head, she lost all her courage to tell him and risk losing this happy Kenshin she loved so much more than his sad side.
That proved to be a fatal mistake on her part.
She couldn’t fight her monsters when it was too dark for her to see ahead anymore. The last light of hope extinguished its flame and left her completely alone and lost, this time with no resort to turn to. The antidote was now useless, nothing could save her. She was too far gone. She finally broke.
She was standing in the middle of her room, finally wearing the kimono she sewed last night using the fabric the Oda clan sent her, the fabric Kenshin would rip off her and burn out of his jealous rage. She wrote him a letter, explaining her thoughts in the best way she could and begging him to not blame himself. This time, it was completely her mistake because the only one getting hurt was him. She took a deep breath and muttered an apology under her breath before she slit her wrist, deep, causing her blood to splatter everywhere, quickly leaving her body. Sasuke was worried about her and he finally found some time to meet her with Kenshin being occupied hunting down some bandits in town. He silently slid into her room and saw a horrifying sight…
There she was, wobbling on her legs, losing conciseness by seconds, he froze to the spot, only to see her holding a bloody dagger with a pained smile on her face. He had to act quickly, he ran to her side, tying a piece of fabric around her wrist doing anything to try and stop the bleeding and, in an instant, he was out in the hallway, running towards the medic’s room, begging her to keep her eyes open and stay with him, he couldn’t lose her when he could’ve helped her. After dropping her of there he practically fell backwards down on to the floor, still covered in her blood and running his hands through his hair, drowning in unbearable guilt. His usually stoic expression was now painted with hurt.
Vassals learned about this and Kenshin was soon brought back to his castle, demons running wild in his mind. ‘What the hell was she thinking? How could I let that happen? Why was fate punishing mr once again, wasn’t the first time enough?? Wasn’t Isehime enough of a punishment for me??!’
But nothing could bring Isehime back… He is the one responsible for her death… He failed to protect his first love from himself and his damned curse that still kept him alive, only to torture him more…
Few hours passed that felt like they were years, he couldn’t bring himself to go to her side now, not when she was still ragging her war, fighting, the only question was to die or to survive. She may thought this was the best way to hurt him, one quick and hard punch to that glass in his chest, but it was the worst torture he could imagine. She was still visible, dying out of his reach. He sat at the veranda where she spent so many nights with her demons, downing bottles of sake, one after the another, and poured himself another cup, the one brewed in Azuchi, one he shared with her. Now it lost its special taste all of a sudden, causing him to push it off the table and shatter into millions of pieces, just like his heart when the final blow was finally delivered… One of those shards from his heart must've flew and stuck in her wrist, deepening the cut and therefore preventing the blood from stopping...
But, sadly, blood can’t piece broken glass back together…
The end.

A thundering boom shook the walls, nearly drowning out the sound of your cries from beyond the sliding doors he’d been forced to wait outside of. Exhaling a slow breath, Shingen closed his eyes against the tears blurring his vision, a steady stream of silent prayers escaping slightly parted lips as he curled in on himself. Yukimura stood nearby, tapping his foot without a word. The older man could tell he wanted to speak and was grateful that he didn’t. In all his years of fighting, he had never been so terrified before, and all he wanted to do was shut down if he couldn’t do anything to bring an end to your suffering.
       He just felt so useless.
Had it been days or hours? Shingen couldn’t tell when each pained scream wrenched at his heart and made him tremble. He had already left bloody crescents in his calloused palms from how hard he’d been clenching his fists, yet he knew the agony he was feeling was nothing compared to what you were going through.
The rain had started last night, the beginning of what promised to be a serious summer storm making its way across Kai, and had continued through the night, gaining intensity. Just that morning - or was it yesterday morning? - Shingen had been sitting with you, watching it drench the garden and the rest of the castle from your shared room. He’d held you safe and sound, sitting between his legs with his arms wrapped around you and your hands covering his as they rested on your pregnant belly.
You had mentioned you’d been feeling pangs when you woke up that morning, but had dismissed them as false contractions. They had occurred a few times in the past few weeks as your due date loomed closer, but you were still a good month away from giving birth. You didn’t seem overly concerned so Shingen decided to trust you on it, but he was still a little concerned, so he insisted you let him pamper you, massaging your sore body from time to time.
Since you had found out you were pregnant, the love and affection he liked to shower you with had increased exponentially. Every spare moment he had was spent with you, to the point that Yukimura liked to grumble that he was attached to you at the hip. You could barely walk a few steps without Shingen at your heels, asking where you were going, if you wanted anything, if you were feeling okay. It annoyed you sometimes when you were trying to sew in peace, but you couldn’t deny him when he was practically buzzing with joy.
“My goddess is pregnant with my child.” Every time he pressed his ear to your growing belly, listening to the sounds of his child moving within, a gentle smile would spread across his handsome face, and he would look up at you with so much love it made your heart swell for the man you’d fallen in love with, for the life you’d created together. “I won’t jinx it by wondering if I deserve to be this happy.”
Neither of you could wait to meet the child that had been born of your love, a little Takeda prince or princess to love and fawn over and fill Tsutsujigasaki Castle with the sound of little pounding feet. Shingen may have been more excited than you actually. He’d been waiting for a family for so long and now he only had to wait a month longer until his angel added another blessing to the list.
That morning he was holding you as he usually did when your back was aching or your feet hurt, letting you lean into his chest as his hands rubbed gentle circles into your belly and he pressed kisses into your hair. Every time the baby kicked, he would smile and tap back, chuckling into your neck. “Restless today, huh?”
“Mmm,” you hummed in agreement, leaning your head back against his shoulder and exposing your neck to him for kissing. “It feels like they’re trying to fight their way out. Definitely a warlord’s kid.”
Laughing, he caressed your stomach soothingly, murmuring, “Calm down for Mama, huh? There’ll be plenty of fighting later when Kenshin decides you're old enough to hold a sword.”
You grimaced and he laughed some more. Of course, you knew he was kidding. There was no way Shingen wasn’t going to let the battle-obsessed war god anywhere near his child for a long time. The thought of Kenshin’s bloodlust rubbing off on his precious baby…
Suddenly, you gasped and he flew into serious mode, his grip on you tightening protectively. “What? What’s wrong?”
“Shingen, I - my water broke!” Narrowed gaze snapping to your stomach, he felt you jerk in his arms, a pained yelp escaping your lips. “The baby’s coming!”
He didn’t waste a second, even though he was panicking inside. Wasn’t it too early? There was still a good month left before the birth was supposed to take place. Had something suddenly gone wrong? ‘God, please no.’
Lifting you in his arms, he took you back inside and settled you onto the futon, pressing a quick kiss to your head before unwinding your fingers from his and running into the hallway. His booming voice filled the hall, rising above the pounding rain and thunder, and soon enough your shared room was filled with other people, Yukimura trying to pull him out even as Shingen remained rooted at your side, brushing sweaty strands of hair away from your forehead and letting you strangle his hand.
“Shingen-!” you gasped, eyes wide. You knew it was too early and you were scared, scared for your life and the life of your child.
It took every bit of his rapidly fraying composure not to give you the same terrified look in return, pressing his lips hard against your temple instead. It was a wonder he was able to keep his voice steady as he said, “You’re amazing, my love. You can do this. You're stronger than anyone I know. It’s going to be okay. You and the baby are going to be okay.”
“Lord Shingen, we can’t stay in here!” Yukimura insisted, tugging harder. The maids and midwife echoed him, but he barely heard, feeling his heart throb painfully as another contraction wracked your pained form.
“I love you,” he managed before finally letting himself be pulled away, his eyes never leaving you until the sliding door slammed into place before him. It echoed the sound of his heart snapping into pieces, and a sudden flash of lightning made him jump.
Thus began what felt like the longest wait of his life, the only news to go off of the sound of your cries. He ached to be in there with you, holding your hand and supporting you through the pain, but he didn’t want to get in the way, especially if something really was wrong.
Yukimura attempted to talk to him a couple of times as Shingen paced back and forth, but stopped when his lord crumpled to the floor, his strength leaving him as he trembled and prayed to whatever gods were listening.
He’d been sitting there for hours now, his pain numbing to a blinding ache as the seconds, minutes, hours crept by, each cry chipping away at him in a way he hadn’t known was possible. It was fear and pain and despair sharpened to knife-point and steadily being used to stab away at his hope. The storm made it worse, lightning and thunder adding an ominous sense to his terror and bringing out his worst fantasies. Something was wrong. It must be. It was taking too long, and there was no way he was just going to sit here and let you suffer alone.
He stood with a snarl and Yukimura startled, reaching for him as he moved to tear open the screen doors.
“Lord Shingen, no!” The other man wrapped his arms around his lord’s waist who rounded on him with a glare.
“Something’s wrong, Yuki. Don’t you dare stop me.”
“I’m worried too!” he tried to insist, grip tight around his lord’s wrist. “(Y/n)’s my friend! She’s like a sister to me!”
“And she’s my wife!” he growled, the rumble of thunder answering as he turned to the door again. “Giving birth to our child! I can’t sit here anymore!”
“I understand, but please wait a little longer!”
“For her to-?!” he cut off abruptly. He couldn’t say the word, he couldn’t even think it. You couldn’t! Not you! Instead, he ripped his hand out of Yukimura’s grip and reached for the door again.
A cry interrupted him before he could open it, however, making him freeze. It wasn’t a cry from you, tiny and new instead of the pained groans he’d been listening to for hours. His fingers closed on the door before he fully realized it, yanking it back with a resounding slam.
Shingen was so scared of what he might find, he practically collapsed in relief when his gaze landed on you. You were a mess, covered in blood and sweat, but you were alive, blessedly, wonderfully alive.
He was at your side in a split second, scooping your exhausted body into his arms and cradling you against him. For the first time in hours, he felt safe, holding you safe and sound where you belonged.
“Sorry. Did I scare you?” you panted, a breathless chuckle wracking your limp form.
He tried to laugh back, but a choked sob came out instead. The tears he’d been trying to hold back for hours suddenly rushed forth, streaming down his face as he pressed it into your hair, shoulders shaking. Shingen was so grateful that you were still alive, he couldn’t think of anything to say. All he could do was hold you.
“Would you like to meet your daughter?” you murmured softly, reaching up to stroke his hair.
His watery eyes shot open, his mouth opening and closing before he regained his voice. “A daughter? We have a daughter?”
You were so tired and weak, but there was a beautiful sparkle in your eyes, a smile on your lips as your gaze shifted away from him and to an approaching nursemaid. He looked as well, and more emotion and anticipation rose in his throat as his eyes fell on the squirming bundle in the other woman’s arms. He couldn’t tear his gaze away as your outstretched arms embraced the bundle, laying it against your chest as he finally beheld his child’s face.
She had been crying before, but she quieted now, nestled against the familiar warmth of her mother. Shingen could see that she had inherited his coloring, maroon fuzz covering her head and large grey eyes blinking up at him, but he recognized your nose and jawline. He took a shuddering breath and reached out, smiling through his happy tears as a tiny hand wrapped around his finger.
“You couldn't wait another month, huh?” he chuckled, to which she just blinked at him, cooing as she wiggled. “Is she healthy?”
“Yep,” you replied, stroking your thumb across her head. Looking up at him, you asked, “Do you want to hold her?”
He blinked owlishly at you and nodded, his heart jumping in his chest. Fussing at being handed away from you, she quieted as soon as Shingen had her steady. She looked so tiny in his large hands, little limbs kicking in her swadlings, and he could feel her heartbeat, fluttering like a bird. His tears dripped down his face onto her as his heart swelled in his chest, love for his family drowning the last of his fear.
Holding the new Takeda princess in one arm and his goddess of a wife in the other, he pressed his lips to your hair. “Thank you.”
Leaning up, you kissed his cheek in answer before settling back against him, closing your eyes as 20 hours of labor finally got to you. You felt yourself being laid back onto the futon, and heard the maids ushering your husband and child out again to clean you up before settling to sleep, a smile on your face.
At the same time, Shingen was still gazing down at the baby in wonder, watching her take in the world around her with pride. There was so much more inside him now, the final pieces falling into place. She’d broken his heart coming into the world, but put it back together just as easily. How amazing was that?
Sitting down, he smiled as the tiny life in his arms yawned and closed her eyes, tucked safely against his chest. Looking up, he noticed the rain had started to let up, bits of blue sky peeking through the grey. As he watched, a rainbow flared to life, making his smile grow even wider as he reached out to catch the last few raindrops in his hand.
This day could have gone so much worse. The rain could have been so cold, drenching him as he mourned the loss of what heaven had so graciously given him, but it felt warm instead, life-giving. The future he dreamed of remained perfectly intact, his heart blissfully full.
