[WM — September 2024] Prompt 3 — Sword.
Rating: G.
TW: none.
Characters: Remus Lupin, Mary Macdonald, Sirius Black, James Potter; mention of Fabian Prewett and Alastor Moody.
Additional Tags: fantasy au; prince Sirius; prince James; scholar Remus; pre-relationship; not included but Regulus is hiding from the training lmao.
Summary: Remus watches the morning training.
Words Count: 374.
A/N: Heya! This one is, once again, from a larger AU idea lodged somewhere in my brain. I’m starting to plot how to actually write it, so we’ll see! Hope you like it 💕
@wolfstarmicrofic
Read on ao3.
-
Morning training is always a nice time of the day; Remus doesn’t have anything to do but watch as the knights and princes go through their repeated movements and sparring.
James and Sirius are, as usual, fighting together, their swords clashing against Fabian's — their sparring partner today. Technically, it’s supposed to be a three-way, every-man-for-himself duel, but those two can’t stop themselves from teaming up at any occasion. It’s endearing; Moody, the Royal Head of the Guard and their trainer, will definitely be displeased when he’ll notice, though.
Remus is sitting on his designated bench, just outside the field, his notebook and pen open as he takes on the scene. As a scholar — like his father before him — and, most importantly, a personal friend of the princes, he likes recording their daily lives, and James and Sirius are more than happy to let him do so.
“Here again?” asks a familiar voice behind him; Remus turns and takes on the sight of Mary, wearing light, comfortable trousers and shirt, her own sword on her hips and her hair carefully up in a perfect bun.
He shrugs, a small smile on his lips. “You know it.” Then, with a large gesture to his papers and casual humor, “I need to record history, after all.”
“Uh-huh,” she nods. Mary glances down at his notebook, a grin on her face as she catches a few words on the page. “And history needs to know everything about Sirius’ bulging muscles, I see.”
Remus flushes. By instinct, he covers up with his hands the two pages long description of, well, Sirius’ current state — but really, is it his fault if Sirius likes to spend his training half-naked?
Mary laughs, and leaves without saying more. She joins her foster brothers and, still grinning, challenges them to a duel against her. Fabian gracefully chooses this moment to make an exit.
James groans — Mary is more proficient with a sword than him, and they both know it. Sirius takes a step back, obviously amused, and catches Remus' gaze. He waves at him, the gesture bringing attention to his perfectly proportioned and not at all attractive arm.
Remus waves back, checks still warm, and tries to ignore the irrational beating of his heart.
-
(Remus' history book is half him thirsting over Sirius and half actual important events lmao)
(Also Sirius may be spending his training half-naked for a reason… who knows.)

⟢ remus lupin x fem!reader ⟢ when james and sirius prank you guys after your third date, you just have to prank them back ⊹ 1.1k ⟢ warnings/tags: no warnings i think, muggle au probably ⟢ requested
── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
Remus leads you into his flat by your hand, briefly dropping it only to lock the door behind you. Meanwhile, you take in the space, trying not to look like you're snooping as you strain your eyes to look at the kitchen through your peripheral vision.
You wander deeper into the flat. It's neither small nor large, and you soon come upon the living room, where you find two boys on the couch snickering to themselves. They straighten out when they notice you and clamp their mouths shut.
"Oh! Hello," you greet them.
Remus rushes up behind you. "Uh, hey guys," he says, sounding airy with nerves. "Um, this is James. And Sirius," he says, pointing to each of his roommates as he introduces you to them.
You shoot them a small wave as Remus introduces you to them.
"It's nice to meet you both," you say politely.
"Likewise," the one with longer hair, Sirius, says.
"Charmed," James, the one with glasses, says at the same time.
"Anyway, we'll be going now!" Remus' voice is up an octave, and he wastes no time to lead you away with a hand pressing against your lower back.
You wave goodbye to the boys, and your eyebrows draw together when they suddenly erupt in a fit of quiet laughter.
"So, I thought we could watch a movie," Remus says as he leads you down the hall. "I remember on our first date you told me your favorite movie was- oh no."
Remus stops in his tracks as he swings open his door. For a moment, the two of you stand immobile in his doorway.
You stare at his bed, which is scattered with red rose petals. In the center of a carefully laid heart, the petals spell out "B MY GF." And on his nightstand, an array of candles burn, filling the room with a sweet aroma.
"This- this-" Remus stammers as he steps further into his room.
You follow, and the door shuts behind you.
"I didn't- this isn't- this is-" Remus is shaking his head as he manages to rip his eyes away from the display on his bed. He holds his hands up in front of him, a sign of innocence.
You bite your lower lip to withhold the smile that's fighting its way onto your lips. "Remus," you try to interrupt, but to no avail.
"I did not put this here. I promise. I- I-"
"Remus!" you exclaim, grabbing his shoulders.
This finally shuts him up. You've never seen him look so worried. Granted, you've only been on three dates with him. Still, he looks riddled with apologetic concern.
You feel desperate to ease his nerves, and you find yourself pushing up on to the tips of your toes and leaning in to press a kiss to his lips. It's slow and sweet, and when he finally recovers from his initial surprise, it's even sweeter as he kisses back.
It's everything you hoped your first kiss with Remus would be.
When you pull away, you notice the nervous look in his eyes has been replaced by a fond, albeit confused, expression.
"I know it wasn't you," you explain. "And if the giggles that came out of the peanut gallery in your living room is any indication, I think I know who did."
"Yeah, I'm really sorry about them. About all of this. I- I would never-"
"I know," you assure him. "Our dates so far are proof that you're far more romantic than this," you snort, looking at the tacky display on his bed.
"Yeah?" he smirks, one of his hands raising to trace up your arm.
"Mhm. And however you do end up asking me to be your girlfriend, I'm sure it will be much more romantic than that."
Remus' eyebrows shoot up, and his momentary confidence fades as he begins to feel flustered under your gaze. "You think so?"
"Oh yeah. So romantic I can almost guarantee I'll say yes."
Remus swallows hard as a blush peppers his cheeks. "You sure are putting a lot of pressure on me, you know?" he says playfully.
"I'm sure you'll manage to impress me."
Remus exhales slowly to expel his nerves. He lets his hand trail down your arm and laces his fingers with yours. "How about we start that movie?" He tugs you deeper into his room, but you don't budge.
"Actually," you say, dragging out the word, your tone laced with mischief. "What do you say we get back at those roommates of yours?"
A grin tugs at the corner of Remus' lips. "What did you have in mind?"
"Just chase after me, and follow my lead," you instruct. Remus nods, and then you storm out of his room, letting his door crash into the wall as you go.
"I mean that's so distasteful! Did you honestly think I'd say yes!?" you shout loud enough for the boys in the living room to hear you.
Remus stifles a laugh as he calls after you.
You stomp down the hall with Remus following closely behind, doing his best to make his begging for you to wait sound genuine.
When you make it to the living room, you spin on your heels.
"Come on. Rose petals on your bed? Candles? Did you think I was going to have sex with you or something!? After only three dates!? God, I really thought you were different!"
"Please, just hear me out," Remus pleads, and you're impressed by his acting.
"Just forget it. I'm out of here!" You sell your act by letting your voice waver, as if you're tearing up.
Finally, you storm out of the flat and let the front door slam behind you. Snickering to yourself, you lean against the wall just outside their door, and begin to count down in your head.
Three... two...
The door swings open, and Remus' roommates rush out.
One.
"Wait! Please wait!"
"It wasn't him!"
The two boys are geared up to run down the corridor. But when they notice you waiting, nonchalantly leaning against the wall, they trip over their own two feet. James runs right into Sirius, and the pair take several moments to untangle themselves from each other.
You can't help but cackle at the sight of them. Soon Remus appears in the doorway, his own laughter mingling with yours.
James and Sirius look between the two of you, perplexed.
"Seriously? You thought I would fall for that?"
James sputters, still confused, but a smirk slowly works its way onto Sirius' face as he begins to understand that he's been bested.
"Oh, I see," you continue. "You didn't think you'd get away with that without being pranked back, did you?"
James puffs out a laugh. "I've got to hand it to you, that was a good one."
Sirius claps Remus on the shoulder. "Oh, mate. She's a keeper."

A Remus fic where the reader and him just can't stand each-other but she is literally the only person who calms him when the full moon is near?? (Or just straight up can calm 'Moony')
Like, they both hate being around each other but the reader doesn't fight his proximity around that time?? She lowkey knows
Like; "can you stop that?"
"Breathing?"
"Whatever it is, yes."
But around the full moon they are suddenly soft on eachother

B E S T F R E N E M I E S — REMUS LUPIN!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
remus lupin x gn!reader | fluff | 0.9k | masterlist!!
You hate each other. You despise each other. But there’s three or so days every month when you’re a little less antagonistic.
a/n — i love this type of relationship, thanks for the request ml <3
Tumblr media
You don’t need a phase calendar to know when the full moon is coming up.
You don’t need a lunar tracker, or a magical device.
Heck, you don’t even have to look at the moon.
No, none of that matters. You know when the full moon is coming up, because all of a sudden, almost inexplicably, Remus Lupin decides that he wants to spend time in your presence instead of ripping your throat out.
You can’t say you’re exactly sure when it started, when you mutually agreed to cease your incessant bickering just for those few days over the full moon before returning to your previous hatred.
Just as you couldn’t quite remember how you figured out his little ‘problem’ in the first place.
But here you were nonetheless, sat in front of the fireplace in the Gryffindor common room, with you on one end of the sofa and him on the other.
There was no glances, no conversation, but his foot was extended far enough across the cushions to brush against your knee as the two of you sat in parallel, books in your hands and silence in the air.
“Will you stop doing that?”
Remus looks over the rim of his book with furrowed eyebrows. “Doing what?”
“I can hear you breathing, it’s annoying,” You turn the page of your own book with an exaggerated sigh.
“Guess I’ll just suffocate to death then,”
You give Remus a short hum, and he scoffs.
“And stop moving your leg,” You elbow his calf passively, not hard enough to actually prompt him to move, but enough to act as a reprimand.
“I’ve got pins and needles.”
Don’t sit like that then,” You spare him a glance, he’s already looking at you.
You know he won’t move, he never does.
“I’m fine,”
And you’re always right. Especially this close the full moon.
“No you’re not,”
“No, this is uncomfortable as fuck,” Remus agrees with you pretty easily, tugging the decorative pillow from behind his back with a groan. “Why is this sofa so shit?”
“It’s not the sofa, it’s your joints,” You roll your eyes, turning the page of your book. “You’re built like an old man,”
“Oh, wow, thank you.” His expression matches his tone, deadpan and flat, and very clearly unamused.
“You’re welcome,” Your reply is just as enthusiastic.
“I’m too hot,” Remus complains. You’re sure he’s just doing it for the sake of it.
“Move away from the fireplace then,”
“You’re in the way,”
“Oh for Godric’s—” You exhale exasperatedly, shutting your book harshly on your lap and standing up, making a show of gesturing to your, now vacant, spot on the sofa. “Go on then,”
Remus groans exaggeratedly as he stands, his eyes narrowed in an exaggeration of his frustration with your attitude, and he collapses into your spot like a grandpa into an arm chair.
“Happy now?”
He opens his book with one hand. “Chuffed,”
“Wonderful.”
You grit your teeth with a sigh as you watch him sink into the corner cushions, biting any more unsavoury comments on your tongue as you move to sit on the side by the fireplace.
Although there’s really no point, because he stops you before you can even get two steps away.
“Sit down, don’t let me get in your way,”
“That’s what I’m doing?” You gesture almost sarcastically towards the slowly disappearing indentation on the sofa cushion where he’d previously been sat.
“Don’t sit by there. Like I said, it’s too hot,”
He reaches out his arm without looking away from his book, blindly grazing your side until it lands on your wrist, then he’s tugging you back towards him until you’re basically stumbling into his lap.
“Oh, and this isn’t going to be too hot?” You grumble as you land against his thighs. Even those are bony, and not very comfortable either.
“Just be quiet.” Remus shifts underneath you, pulling your legs over his lap until you’re sat perpendicularly to each other, although occupying the same space.
There’s a few moments of the two of you making small adjustments to the way you’re sitting, how you’re positioned and how to work around having enough space for the both of you to read at the same time.
Then the silence returns, and it’s nothing but the crackling of the fireplace and the occasional turning of a page as the two of you sit quietly in the begrudged agreement of each other’s presence without argument.
“You’re a shit cushion,”
Well, almost anyway.
“Shut the fuck up and sit still,”

win - @wolfstarmicrofic - word count: 179
"What...the...fuck..." Sirius sighed, collapsing on the couch next to Remus, surveying the room.
It looked like a bombarda went off. There were toys everywhere, bits of toast smashed into the carpet, ripped up papers littered the hall. Sirius even swore he could see a small handprint on the wall, though he didn't point it out to Remus.
"We got him to bed," Remus said tiredly, wrapping his arms around Sirius and resting his head on his shoulder. "And he took a bath. That's a win, right?"
Sirius snorted. "It's eleven pm, Moons."
Remus groaned. "Oh Merlin, he'll be up again in seven hours."
"Remember when he couldn't walk? Those were the days," Sirius grinned, grabbing Remus's hand and kissing his fingers. "Just when I thought he took after Lily, he hit age three."
The other man chuckled, but a melancholy feel hit the room as they both remembered their friends.
"I'm glad we can do this together," Remus mumbled, pulling Sirius closer. "Couldn't do this without you."
"Me too, Moons," Sirius smiled sadly. "Me, you, and Harry. We're family."

JAMES POTTER MASTERLIST
James sends you a look from across the room, the look, and your heart pounds. He is in the middle of a conversation with Remus Lupin, your old Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, and you suddenly find it very hard to concentrate on the conversation you're supposedly having with Hermione.
Three months. Your relationship with James had managed to stay a secret for three months, and you honestly don't know how.
"And so—Y/n? Are you even listening?" Hermione asks, looking at you suspiciously. Ron's arm is draped over her shoulders as he talks with Harry—and Harry, who is holding Ginny's hand.
You look at your friends. Fuck, you think, you must look so pathetically alone.
You answer Hermione quickly, "No, I'm sorry. I am listening," you smile and sneak a glance at James again. Huge mistake considering he's still wearing that look on his face; the one you've learned to read oh so well.
"Actually, I have to use the loo," you mutter, standing up. Hermione frowns, but she doesn't say a thing as you walk down the hallway.
When you reach the small bathroom, you open it and then shut it behind you quietly. You sit on the toilet, nails in your mouth as you wait. A few moments later, the door opens and someone way too familiar slides in. You stand. You feel like the air inside your chest has been ripped from you when he turns and your eyes meet his.
"Funny, it always starts with a bathroom," James jokes in a whisper, causing you to smile. In seconds, his lips are on yours, and he's hoisting you onto the tiny sink. "Bloody hell," he mutters when you subconsciously run your hand up and down his chest, clutching at his shirt.
"I missed you," you pout.
"You talked to me barely thirty minutes ago," he chuckles, "When you kicked my ass in wizard's chess, remember?"
"Yeah, but I mean I missed you like this," you say with a smirk and start to unbutton his shirt. "Mine," you clarify and kiss his cheek quickly. James smiles and dips his head as he nibbles on your exposed shoulder.
"Yours," he whispers and then continues in one breath, "You drive me absolutely insane, dressed in this mini dress," his hand rides the side of your dress up your thighs and then his hand reaches your middle. He looks at you sternly, and you send him a small wink, "No panties? What a naughty girl."
"Only for you," you moan and arch a little when you feel him suddenly ease one finger into you. Just one. One torturous finger that he teases you with. "James," you moan, holding onto his wrist and almost begging him to do something.
Just as his lips attach themselves to your neck and he begins to caress your clit, the latch to the bathroom lock suddenly clicks and the door opens. James's head snaps up too quickly, and he accidentally hits you in the nose. You yelp in pain.
"Dad?" Harry's voice cuts through the tension, and your stomach drops. Immediately, your arms cross over your chest as James spins around and shields you behind him.
"Merlin, get away from her!" Harry suddenly screams out and yanks his father out of the bathroom and into the small hallway.
Adjusting your dress, you rush to follow them and try to explain the situation. "Harry, it's okay! I wanted him," you blurt out as an attempt to calm Harry's anger, but it only makes the entire situation so much worse.
"You wanted my dad!?" Harry screams, and everyone in the living room turns their attention to you three. Your cheeks turn warm, and you're frozen in place. Harry looks distraught, while the guests just look confused, and you want to cry.
"Don't yell at her," James says firmly and frees himself from his son's grasp. He holds Harry's shoulder, taking on a more authoritative parental tone, "Calm down."
Harry just looks more furious. "You're fucking my best friend, and you're telling me to calm down?!!" he accuses, and your tears fall uncontrollably. "She's too young for you, you disgusting pervert," he insults his father as he slaps James's hand away from him.
James looks a mix of ashamed and annoyed. "Harry," he starts, but he's completely taken aback by the punch Harry lands on his cheek. Scared, you rush to James's side without thinking and clutch onto his arm.
"And you," Harry's murderous gaze lands on you this time, and he walks up, causing you to stumble back. "You fucking slut," he hisses, his words a little slurred from the drinks he'd had and full of anger even as Ginny's hand finds his to calm him down.
You feel like you've been punched. You know what you did was wrong—you know Harry has every right to be furious with you—but still, his words hurt.
"Oi!" James's voice booms and he grasps Harry's shoulder again, pushing him away from you. "Do not speak to her like that, you hear me?" he sounds stern, and he looks around the room at everyone staring, then at Harry.
"Take a walk outside. Now," James demands, and his gaze flickers to Hermione, Ron, and Ginny, silently asking them to bring Harry to the garden and have him take a few breaths.
You stand to the side, still crying as the world moves around you in slow motion. James's friends take this as a sign to leave, sending you sympathetic smiles as if they already knew anyway, but you don't focus on that as you lean against the wall and anxiously chew at your nails until blood drips from your finger.
"Hey," James whispers, his hand finding yours, and he brings your bleeding finger to his lips, sucking the blood to soothe you. "It's okay."
You shake your head. "No, it isn't okay, James."
James's shoulders tense, and he moves his hand to the side of your face. "Hey, shh, pretty girl, we wanted them all to know at some point, right?" he reminds you, alluding to the many late-night conversations you'd had over the last three months—conversations you assumed would always remain in the confines of James's bedroom.
You look up at James, and he looks deadly serious.
"Right?" he asks again, gently holding your cheeks in his hands as his thumb wipes away your tears.
You nod, and James rewards you with a kiss on your forehead. "Yeah, there's my good girl," he mutters and holds your cheek, kissing your cheek again. "He'll be fine," James says softly, mentioning Harry. You tense.
"He's my best friend," you whisper. "I don't want to lose him."
James runs his fingers through your hair. "You are not gonna lose him, my darling," he says, but he doesn't sound as sure as he'd like, and you can tell.
James decides he should speak to Harry first, which means you're left sitting on the couch in the living room, biting your nails until you draw blood while James is with his son in the garden.
"How long?" Ron speaks up, his voice strained and high-pitched. He's sitting on the floor across from you with Hermione, her hand in his lap. Ginny stands in the corner of the room, her arms crossed.
"Three months," you sniff and quickly add, "I didn't mean for this to happen—"
"Three months is an awfully long time, Y/n," Hermione interrupts, "and you didn't think to tell Harry?"
"He deserved to know," Ginny's voice sounds strained. She's clearly upset that her boyfriend is upset. It's understandable; you can't blame her.
"Of course I did! But, what was I supposed to say?" you exclaim, "Please, tell me, what's worse? - 'Hey, Harry, I’m fucking your dad,' or 'Hey, Harry, I'm in love with your dad?'"
The room instantly turns silent.
"In love?"
Your chest heaves. You bury your face in your hands. "Yeah," you squeak. "I don't know how it happened, it just did. And these feelings, I can't turn them off," you say, looking up at your friends. "I've tried," you add in a whisper.
Hermione looks understanding while Ginny grumbles something under her breath. She still isn't happy. Ron looks confused, but he decides against making a comment because Hermione is drawing soothing circles around his palm as a silent warning.
After a few moments longer, James walks into the room from the garden and he looks around the room at everyone. He looks a little exhausted, but he doesn't look sad or angry. He focuses his attention on you, smiling a little as he walks over and takes your hand, lifting you up. No one else speaks as they hold their breaths.
"Harry wants to talk to you," James informs you, his voice low. You can tell he wants to press a reassuring kiss to your forehead, but he's holding himself back. He chooses to squeeze your hand instead, nodding his head to the back door. You look at him, unsure, but you drop his hand anyway and walk to the door.
It's a warm evening, so when you walk outside onto the grass, you aren't very cold in your dress. Still, you wrap your arms around yourself for comfort and security as your heart sinks when you see Harry sitting on the cement steps, his hands in his hair. He hears you and looks behind him, not protesting when you sit next to him.
You feel the air on your skin as your mind races, and you think of something to say to him that doesn't sound stupid.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Harry breaks the tension, his voice strained.
There is that question again.
You pick nervously at your nails and answer honestly. "What could I have said to you to make this better?" you whisper.
"So you know it's fucked up," Harry deadpans.
Your eyes widen, and you bite your lip, holding your knees. "I mean, yes. I know it's not exactly ideal—but, I love him, Harry. I really love him, and I didn't mean for it to happen, it just—happened. I know I should have told you, but I didn't know how."
Harry is silent as he takes in your words. He's picking at his jeans, his jaw clenched. "You're my best friend, and he's my dad. It's messed up."
Your heart sinks.
"I– I don't want to lose you, Harry. And I can't lose him either. Please don't make me choose," you say, holding in tears, and for the first time, Harry looks at you and his gaze travels across your features.
"You'd choose him, wouldn't you?" Harry whispers, his voice shaky, "Because you love him, and he loves you. Bloody hell, he'd choose you over me too."
I shake my head. "Harry, no. Your dad loves you more than anyone. I don't think he'd choose me over you. No matter how much he loves me, he's always your dad first. If you gave him the ultimatum and said you didn't want him to date me, I think he would listen."
Harry sighs, shaking his head. "I'm not gonna do that, Y/n. We're adults. I'm not a kid anymore, and I can handle you dating my dad—or I will be able handle it with time—and I just wish someone would have told me because finding you like that in the bathroom was traumatizing."
"I know, I know. I'm sorry," you say quickly.
His expression turns serious again. "Promise me this wasn't a thing when we were in school because I—"
You cut him off and laugh. "Oh my god, no! Never! I know he didn't see me like that when we were younger, Harry. I promise. This is completely new, and I would never be with him if he had seen me like that as a kid," you say seriously.
"Yeah, he said the same," Harry says, and he sounds like he's made up his mind. His jaw ticks and he takes your hand as he pulls you in for a hug. You can still feel his apprehension around the situation but you can't complain.
"Listen, you're my best friend and as my best friend, all I want is your happiness but I need time. Time to wrap my head around all this—oh and I also need you to promise never to talk about anything that has to do with my dad in front of me?"
"I pinky swear," you say instantly, having no desire to have Harry know anything about your relationship with James.
Harry links pinkies with you and he seems satisfied by your answer. He stands to walk inside and you shake your head, silently telling him you want to stay outside a little longer. Harry nods his head and disappears into the house.
After a few minutes, your arms wrapped around your knees as you stare into the dimming light, you sense someone sitting beside you.
It's James. You can smell his cologne.
He turns and rests one hand on your knee, smiling when you lean into him instinctively. "Hi, lovely," he mumbles, moving you inside his side. "You did so good," he continues and kisses your cheek. "I love you. Everything is gonna be okay, mhm. Harry's gonna be fine." James reassures you.
You nod, feeling comforted by James's warmth, and you let out a relieved sigh.
"I like not having to hide anymore," you admit, your hands finding James's as you mindlessly play with his fingers. "It's nice."
James hums. "It is, isn't it?"
"Yeah," you look into his eyes and smile, "I really like it."
James's heart skips, and he leans down, capturing your lips in his for a moment, and all feels okay again.

“Oh, fuck.”
It was a week out until the next full moon, and he was already starting to feel angsty.
The day had been dreadfully long. From the early morning start to nosy colleagues and stupid office drama, all leading up to the fact he wasn’t able to get lunch until an hour before his shift even ended. It was safe to say that Remus was just done with the day.
When he had finally managed to escape the office, he was ready to just shove whatever quick meal he could make before falling face first into bed to enjoy a long lie in before his day off tomorrow. He hadn’t even gotten the chance to call you today during his break, and he kicked himself a little knowing that you’d probably be asleep by the time he arrived home.
But you weren’t. And you weren’t in your own apartment either.
You were here. You were here and you were sprawled on his bed, dressed in some lacy number that he definitely did not remember you owning before. You were here and every exhausting thought in his head was long gone when his pretty girlfriend was waiting for him with a knowing look and a sweet smile.
“Welcome home, baby,” you said to him, propped up on the mattress on your elbows. “Rough day?”
“You…” Remus trailed off, letting out a breathless laugh. “You’re a fucking menace.”
“I thought you liked trouble, Moony,” you said in a teasing voice.
“Don’t call me that,” Remus said, shaking his head as his eyes wandered down your figure. “Not when you’re dressed like that.”
“No?” You raised a brow.
“How did you…” he trailed off, still shaking his head in disbelief as he took a step closer to you.
“Spare key,” you answered before you nodded towards the bedside table. “I thought you could use some…relief after I didn’t hear from you today. Thought I could give my boy a little surprise.”
“Love—” he started but you continued.
“And you should know better than to think you can hide from me,” you said as you shot him a look. “We’ve been dating for three years, Remus. I know how you get before a full moon. And I know what makes you feel better. Stop pulling away. Stop pushing me out.”
“I don’t mean to,” he whispered, a little sheepish as he shrugged his jacket off and kicked his shoes off too. “I’m just—”
“I know,” you reassured him as you reached for his hand and pulled him towards you. “And I know what else makes you feel better,” you continued with a sparkle in your eyes. “Chocolate.”
He paused. “Chocolate?”
You grinned. “Chocolate.”
The lacy number was ripped to shreds on the bedroom floor, your body was arching off the mattress and Remus had never been more glad to have the next day off.
“Merlin,” he groaned, his head ducking down to lick the dribble of melted chocolate that dripped between your tits. “Why have we never done this before?”
“Remus,” you breathed out, aimlessly trying to tug yourself free but his hand kept your wrists pinned above your head. “Please.”
“Nuh uh, honey,” Remus murmured, lips brushing against your skin as he kissed along your skin before licking a long stripe up your stomach. “Gotta keep you still. Thought you wanted to make me feel better?”
“I do,” you whined, nodding your head.
“You gonna let me fuck you, baby?” Remus taunted, his eyes darkening as he took in your flushed cheeks and glossy eyes. “Gonna let me taste that pretty cunt of yours? Bet it tastes better than the chocolate.”
“Remus,” you cried out, squirming beneath him. “Please—”
“I know,” he cooed, throwing your words back at you. “Gonna take care of you, gonna fuck you, gonna make us both feel so fucking good.”

Right Where You Left Me
Request: I would love to request a fic where the reader is Sirius' wife who reunites with him after he escapes from Azkaban, takes care of him e.g. feeding him and grooming him, and helping him get better.
Hi! I’m so sorry for the wait, it took me forever to get to this request, and even longer to finish it. I’ve been in a bit of a slump, but I feel better. I love this request, thank you so much for sending it in! I hope you enjoy it :)
(Warnings: swearing, mentions of azkaban and sirius’s treatment there, mentions of death, vague mention of nudity, let me know if i missed anything)
—
When you received the Patronus from Remus telling you Sirius had escaped from Azkaban, it brought you to your knees.
You thought about him every day. But you could only ever picture him in the days before he was arrested. It hurt too much to think about him rotting away in prison. But hearing that he got out? That he was out in the world and could be anywhere by now? The fact that he was suddenly much closer to you than you thought he would ever be again?
It terrified you.
You married Sirius right after school ended and the war was beginning to pick up. He proposed on a whim, telling you that the rest of your days weren’t guaranteed, and he didn’t want to live through another day without you tied to him. You would have always been by his side, but this was tying more than just your lives together—it was your souls. When Harry was born, you were named his godparents. All was well for a while. Calm, even. Of course, the calm didn’t last.
It wasn’t long after your marriage before that night in Godric’s Hollow came, and Sirius was taken away from you.
But it wasn’t just Sirius.
It was James, Lily, and Peter—even Mary. Marlene was in the weeks before, and Dorcas too. They were ripped away from you, far before you were ready to let them go. Remus was the only one who you kept in touch with after that night. You clung to each other in the weeks after, seeming to be the only people in the world the other could find solace in. But as the years passed, your visits and letters became few and far in between.
Then—after all that time—another Patronus came.
Sirius had come to Hogwarts, and he’d proved his innocence to those who mattered. It was Peter who had betrayed everyone, and he was still alive.
And, while Sirius had you and Remus on his side, he was still considered a fugitive. The Aurors were after him, and he needed to be kept some place safe where they wouldn’t come looking. Luckily for you, the flat you bought was outside of Wizarding London. Sirius had always loved the feeling of places untouched by magic, so after you married, you moved in together in a quiet area on the outskirts of London. It was his idea to use magic to ward it so that people looking for you would have a hard time, and after so long away from the Wizarding community, not many people would think it was worth it or even remember to come looking for Sirius in hiding with you.
After twelve years of solitude, you couldn’t fathom the idea of your husband coming back to you. You couldn’t fathom the idea of him being part of your day to day life again. All you could do to keep yourself together was tidy up and prepare for Sirius’s arrival.
You couldn’t believe it when Remus finally brought him home to you.
Your boy—who was a man now, or at least the shell of one—was sitting right in your living room. The only home he had ever known outside of Grimmauld Place or Hogwarts, and he couldn’t have looked more out of place.
Neither of you spoke when Remus eased him down onto the couch, before coming to your side. You’d always pictured that by some miracle if Sirius ever came home to you, you’d rush into his arms and he’d hold you like no time had passed. You spent years missing his touch, wishing you could hug him just one more time. But now he was right in front of you, and you had no idea how to act. You didn’t know if he even wanted you to touch him. You couldn’t take your eyes off Sirius, eyes wide as you looked him over.
Time had not been kind to him.
You could see the man you once knew bleeding through, but so much of this version of him was unknown to you. Sirius kept his eyes on the floor, but would occasionally glance up at you. You knew he was seeing a stranger, too.
“I have to go back,” Remus whispered, turning your attention to him. “They’ll know what’s happened back at Hogwarts if I don’t leave soon, and too many people know what’s happened already. I’m sorry. I’ll come back as soon as I can, yeah?”
You could hardly hear him, but you quickly nodded, giving him a squeeze. “Be careful, Remus. I’ll take care of him while you’re gone.”
“I know you will,” he murmured, squeezing you tight.
He let you go, kneeling down next to Sirius who was watching you both with a look full of anxiety. Remus placed a hand on Sirius’s shoulder, his touch light and gentle.
“I have to go, alright? But you’re safe here. I promise. It’s just Y/N.”
Just Y/N, Sirius thought. He just nodded, a conflicted look on his face. Remus stood up, giving you one last look of sympathy, before walking out the door. He left a deafening silence in his wake.
It took you forever to get your feet to move. But when you did, you were falling. You landed on your knees just in front of Sirius, peering up at him through teary eyes. You could see him take a breath, stilling as you got closer.
“Can I touch you?” You asked, your voice barely a whisper.
Sirius swallowed hard. He gave you an almost imperceptible nod, and you gently reached your hand up, your fingertips hovering over his face. Taking a breath, you cradled his cheek in your palm. You could feel the stubble along his jaw, and the sharpness off his cheek. His skin was cool, far from the usual flush you remembered from all those years ago.
“You’re really here,” you murmured, your voice catching in your throat. “Oh, love. You’re so beautiful.”
Your words pulled a pained whimper from Sirius’s chest. He nestled his face into your hand, a few stray tears pooling in your palm. You were quick to wipe them away, leaning in close. He tilted his head down, resting his forehead against yours. He took a deep breath, taking you in.
“I pictured your face every day, and I still think I’ll never get tired of looking at you. How could I? You’re right here in front of me, as beautiful as the day I lost you. But you’ve always been the pretty one in this relationship, haven’t you?”
You let out a watery laugh, shaking your head. “In my dreams. But it’s good to see your sense of humor is still intact.”
The next few moments were quiet, nothing but the sound of sniffles and shaky breaths reaching your ears.
Finally, Sirius forced himself to look around. He’d braced himself from the moment he walked in to see all that had changed since he left. He’d expected you to move on and live your life without him, and he’d expected the flat to reflect that. It was honestly more of a shock to him when Remus told him you still lived there than anything else. But as he looked around and took everything in, he realized how wrong he had been.
“You haven’t changed a thing,” he said, looking at the art on the walls you’d picked out together when you first moved in.
You glanced around as well. You wanted to tell him how you didn’t have the heart to change anything. And although seeing him in everything around you felt like you were being stabbed, you just couldn’t get rid of anything. Getting rid of it would mean getting rid of all you had left of him.
And you would have rather been stabbed a thousand times than do that.
You shook your head, pointing to the spare room. “Actually, Remus lived here for a while. He pretty much flipped that whole room. Said something about you having too expensive a taste for him to have to endure for extended periods of time.”
“Merlin, I bet it looks like grunge threw up in there,” he mused, making you smile and nod.
You stood up, offering him your hands. “Are you hungry? We need to get you fed and cleaned up, love.”
Sirius looked down to the robes he was wearing. They were tattered—resembling rags stitched together more than they were resembling clothes. His hair was greasy and matted to his head, and his face and body was caked in dirt. He had almost forgotten just how dirty he was, a flush spreading across his cheeks as he gave you an embarrassed look.
“It’s alright, darling,” you said softly, taking his hands in yours. “We’ll take it at your pace. Don’t worry, I’ve got you.”
Reluctantly, Sirius nodded. You smiled, gently leading him up off the sofa and into the kitchen.
—
It took ages to find him something to eat.
You nearly keeled over when he told you that pretty much the only thing he had been given to eat for the past twelve years was bread and water. It was what he’d grown accustomed to eating, and he wasn’t sure he could stomach anything else. You had to choke back tears when you finally suggested soup—one of the first things he learned to make on his own without magic. It took a while, but he managed to get most of it down.
You made small talk while he ate, telling him little things he’d missed while he was gone. You left out the most painful details. You could tell him about those later.
Finally, he couldn’t stall anymore.
He let you take him by the hand and lead him to the bathroom, his eyes on the floor as you shut the door behind him.
“Shower or bath?” You asked, turning the water on to let it heat up. “A bath might be easier. You look tired, and I don’t want you falling over or something.”
Sirius just nodded, and you assumed he was alright with you choosing for him. You let the tub fill up, making sure the water wasn’t too hot before you turned the faucet off. You turned back around, frowning when you saw Sirius looking back at you with anxious eyes.
“It’s ready,” you said softly, stepping out of the way.
Sirius watched you for a moment, fidgeting back and forth on his heels. Just as you opened your mouth to speak again, he beat you to it.
“Can you turn around?” He asked, lowering his eyes to the floor. “I don’t mind if you stay, but could you…could you maybe turn around for this part?”
You quickly nodded, stepping towards the door. “Of course! I’m sorry, I didn’t even ask if you wanted me in here—”
He was quick to speak, his voice shaky. “I do! But this is just a little weird, you know?”
You nodded, backing up to the doorway and turning to face it. You could feel the heat creep up to your cheeks as you heard his clothes hit the floor, followed by the sound of him climbing into the tub. You had seen Sirius naked a thousand times before. He was never ashamed of his body, he never shied away, and you had seen plenty of him in your years of knowing him. This version of him made your chest tighten, and all you could do was stand there and hope he wasn’t feeling the emotions you were. You waited another moment before talking over your shoulder.
“Do you need anything, love? I’ll wait outside if you want me to. Unless you want me here. I’m happy to do whatever you want, it’s up to you.”
Sirius cleared his throat. “Uh…could you maybe help me? My hair is matted and I don’t think I can fix it on my own.”
There was probably a spell you could have used—some sort of detangling charm to help get the mats out. But Sirius had gotten used to not being able to use magic, and you didn’t feel like using it either. The truth was, you preferred it this way.
It was an excuse to get close to him again and spend time with him.
It was an excuse to take care of him.
You nodded, turning around to grab your brush. You kept your eyes on his as you sat down on the edge of the tub, trying your best not to let your eyes wander. You set your brush on your knees, reaching for a cup off the ledge of the tub to dip down into the water and fill up.
“Tilt your head back for me, love,” you directed, smoothing your hand over his hairline as he tipped back far enough for you to pour the water over his hair.
You repeated the process a few more times before setting the cup down and grabbing the conditioner. You smoothed it through his hair, gently tugging at the knots with your fingers before you grabbed your brush. It was silent while you worked, making slow but steady progress. Eventually, Sirius shifted, and the water sloshed just over the side of the tub.
“Sorry,” he muttered, looking over his shoulder with guilty eyes to see if he splashed you.
“Don’t be,” you replied quickly, smoothing a comforting hand across his shoulder before moving back up to his hair. “Are you alright? Getting cold?”
Sirius opened his mouth to speak, before deciding against it and closing it. He just shook his head, growing silent once more. You knew there was something he wasn’t saying, and you didn’t want to push him. But you hadn’t made much progress with his hair, and you didn’t fancy sitting in silence for the rest of the evening.
You set your brush down, gently smoothing your palm over his hair. “Sirius…you can tell me anything. You know that, right? I know this feels strange, but it’s still me you’re talking to. Alright? It’s me. There’s nothing you can’t tell me. Whatever it is, I’m here to listen.”
There was another splash as he shifted, twisting around to face you. He was going to say that he’d tell you another time, and that he didn’t have it in him to say it just yet.
But then he looked into your eyes.
And you were looking at him with such sincerity and warmth that he couldn’t help but spill. You watched his eyes fill with tears, and you quickly reached for his hand which he gladly let you take.
“I saw Harry,” he finally choked out.
You felt your breath catch in your chest. A deep sorrow spread through you, filling your gut with dread. You could feel your own tears stinging behind your eyes, but you quickly blinked them away. It wasn’t the time for them.
“He looks just like them, doesn’t he?” You breathed, squeezing Sirius’s hand. “I haven’t seen him in a while. Remus promised he’d say hello for me once he got to Hogwarts.”
“He knows who you are?” Sirius asked, his voice full of surprise.
“Dumbledore wouldn’t tell me where he was when they came for him. The bastard said I was “in no shape” to look after him, and it was too dangerous for me to get involved. I tried so many times to get him to tell me, but I knew he had already pushed me and Remus to the back of the list as far as who could be around Harry…I didn’t even catch a glimpse of him until he was eight. Merlin, you have no idea how angry I was when I found out they had given him to Petunia and her sorry excuse for a husband.”
Sirius’s jaw clenched. You could see the anger brewing inside him, watching as he took deep breaths to calm himself. But he didn’t let it out on you. He just squeezed your hand, tightening his grip.
Sirius cleared his throat. “Did you try and go get him?”
“Dumbledore threatened to have my magic taken away if I didn’t leave the matter be. He didn’t tell me anything about Harry or where he was kept hidden away. He just brought me a picture of him, and promised that when it was finally time for Harry to go to Hogwarts, he’d let me see him. Remus had to keep an eye on me till he was sure I wouldn’t do something stupid before that time came. He’d been waiting as long as me—he’s just better than me at patience, I guess.”
“You never were very good at being patient,” Sirius mused, but you could hear the strain in his voice as he spoke.
You gave him a tight lipped smile, trying your best to mean it. “Anyway, I met Harry for the first time in Diagon Alley. Dumbledore finally let me see him under the condition that it be in a public and magical place—but I wasn’t allowed to tell him about you.”
Sirius frowned, and you could feel your chest tighten. You ran your thumb along the back of his hand, your eyes in your lap.
“I wanted to tell him—so badly. But Dumblefore wouldn’t let me. All I could say was that I was a friend of Harry’s parents, and that I was there to help him get ready for school. I finally told him I was his godmother last summer when I took him for school supplies again. He spent the afternoon asking me about how I knew his parents. He kept pressing for every detail about them and how I knew them, and I couldn’t hold it in anymore. I told him everything about James and Lily I could remember. It just about killed me—”
Your words caught in your throat, cutting you short. Sirius reached his other hand up to reach for yours, his brows furrowing in concern. You looked up, giving him a sad smile.
You swallowed, choking back tears. “He’s so like them, Sirius. He’s got James’s ridiculous hair, and Lily’s fire. I can hardly look at him without seeing her eyes staring back at me. It’s so fucking unfair.”
A pained sound was pulled from Sirius’s throat, and you stopped yourself from talking about James and Lily any further. You grabbed the brush again, burying your nose in your work as you tried to ignore the sorrow you caught in his eyes before he turned his head straight.
“Tell me about it,” you prompted, changing the subject. “Tell me about him.”
Sirius was quiet a moment, like he was trying to find the right words. “He was…beautiful.”
You smiled, nodding for him to continue as you worked the knots out of his hair.
“He’s got this little witch by his side who quite honestly scared me—”
“Hermione,” you finished for him, grinning. “She’s a wonder, isn’t she? Ron, too.”
Sirius nodded, wringing his hands. “I’m glad Harry has someone. They seem like good friends. He’ll at least have them by his side to keep him from getting into too much trouble. He’ll certainly have a better shot than we did.”
You chuckled, smoothing your hand over his hair. “Remus told me he’s doing really well. It was a big year for him, but…he’ll be alright. We’ll see to that now.”
Sirius stiffened, turning around to face you. You paused what you were doing, setting down the brush. His eyes were lowered, his voice quiet as he spoke.
“I told him he could come stay with me, at least once it was safe to and he was able. I wasn’t really thinking about where that would be. My first thought was Grimmauld Place, but I don’t think I can stomach having him there. It’s not right. But I didn’t think to ask you—”
“Sirius, love,” you interrupted, gently cupping his cheek. “This is your home. You can invite whoever you want—you don’t have to ask my permission. And Harry will always be welcome here. If it’s what he wants, he can come stay with us. It can be his home too.”
His eyes softened, and his shoulders fell as he let out a breath of relief. “Merlin, I missed you.”
You could feel yourself growing emotional again, but you refused to let it show. There was so much you wanted to say to him, but you couldn’t bring yourself to speak without your eyes welling with tears. You just cleared your throat as you leaned forward, pressing a chaste kiss to his shoulder.
“Tilt your head back for me again, darling,” you managed to whisper, rinsing his hair out. “Almost done. We’ll get you cleaned up so you can rest, alright?”
—
Not long after, you had Sirius clean and out of the tub, bundled up under the pile of blankets you had dragged over to your bed. He looked a bit ridiculous buried under them all, but it made you smile seeing him comfortable, and he was very happy to oblige you.
You laid next to him, under a considerably less amount of layers. “Warm enough?”
A warm laugh came from next to you as Sirius rolled over to face you. “Yeah, I think I’m all set, darling.”
You smiled, and the room fell into a comfortable silence. Out of habit—one you didn’t even know you still had—you reached for his hand under the sheets. You used to always wind down every night like this, cherishing the time you had together. You never knew how much longer you’d be able to do it with the war raging on, and you both got quite used to doing this each night.
Sirius stiffened in surprise when he felt your fingers reach his, but he quickly recovered once he realized what you were doing. He let you take his hand in yours, intertwining your fingers.
“This bed is so soft,” he murmured, tilting his chin down to look at you. “I forgot how soft it was.”
You tried not to let your mind wander, thinking about the sleeping conditions he would have had in Azkaban. He would tell you one day about what it was like there.
Neither of you were prepared to talk about it just yet.
“Do you wanna sleep somewhere else? I could make up the couch—”
“No, love,” he said, squeezing your hand. “This is good.”
You nodded, resting your head against the pillow. Another silence fell over the room. You shuffled to get a little closer, absentmindedly tracing your thumb along the back of his hand. Sirius let out a heavy sigh, drawing your attention up to him. You waited for him to speak, lying still until he looked down and his eyes met yours. There was a pain in them you couldn’t describe.
“Did you think I did it?”
You sucked in a breath, your grip on his hand tightening. You could feel his eyes on you as you frowned, bring your joined hands up from under the sheets to rest on top of the blanket.
You had been waiting for him to ask you this.
You knew he must have spent the past decade wondering what you thought happened. He’d sat in that cell all alone, thinking his wife thought he was a cold blooded murderer who had killed her best friends.
The world thought he was a killer. Why wouldn’t you?
You dropped his hand, gently reaching up to cup his cheek. His skin was warm against yours, a pink flush spreading. Was he embarrassed? Ashamed? You didn’t know. You caressed his cheek, giving him a sad smile. You could see his eyes welling with tears.
“No,” you finally said, your voice sure. “I didn’t think it was you. I didn’t know what had happened, but I didn’t think it was you.”
Sirius let out a breath, his voice cracking. “Really?”
You swallowed hard, nodding.
“You would have died before ever hurting James—and you would have done a lot worse to save him. There wasn’t a single part of me that thought you could have killed James and Lily. I just couldn’t fathom it. There was no one in this world you loved more than them, and I knew that it couldn’t have been you. I didn’t know they had made Peter the secret keeper last minute, and I didn’t know where his body was if he was supposed to be dead, but I knew you had absolutely nothing to do with it. I think Remus knew it too…deep down. He thought I was crazy with the theories I was coming up with to try and absolve you. But he never truly blamed you—and eventually, we stopped talking about it all together. It hurt too much to keep trying to solve the mystery. It was easier to let it go.”
Fresh tears spilled, and Sirius was quick to wipe them away. Your heart ached at his kindness, even after all these years. All these years of solitude when you had left him behind, and yet, he was the one consoling you.
“I’m so sorry,” you choked out, composing yourself the best you could. “I’m so sorry I didn’t try harder to get you back. I’m so sorry you had to suffer there all those years while I got to just keep living my life. You don’t know how sorry I am. Please forgive me, Sirius.”
Sirius quickly shook his head, his palm resting against your cheek. “None of that, pretty girl. It’s not your fault—”
“But it is,” you tried to say, but he just kept shaking his head.
“Well, I don’t care—it doesn’t matter…I don’t blame you. I never blamed you, darling. So stop blaming yourself. I’m sure you’ve spent long enough doing that, and I won’t watch you torture yourself. Don’t you think we’ve both been through enough torture?”
You could hardly believe what you were hearing. He was so strong. It shocked you, just how strong he was. He had been through so much, and yet he still carried himself like the man you knew. He still let other people lean on him even when it should have been him doing the leaning. It was remarkable, really.
“Since when did you get so wise?” You asked, and you had mustered a grin that made him smile too. “Where’s the stubborn man I once knew?”
Sirius shrugged. “He’s still in here somewhere. Just needs a little practice. Don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll meet him again soon.”
You scoffed, breathing out a laugh. “That’s alright. I kinda missed him.”
Sirius chuckled, and your smile widened. This felt easy—this was good. You were so worried that, after all this time, you wouldn’t know how to act around each other. You were so afraid that Sirius would walk around the flat like a ghost of the man who once called it home. But he didn’t. It only took him a few hours to start cracking jokes, brushing his fingers against yours.
It wasn’t perfect—neither of you expected it to be.
But it gave you hope. Sirius was going to be okay. You both were going to be okay. And you’d get there together.

A/N - Hi! Again, I'm so sorry for the wait. I honestly don’t love the outcome of this, but I figured I’d finish it anyways. I loved this request, and I just kept coming back to it and adding it. Hopefully this is what you were looking for, sorry if it’s shit. Thanks for the request :)

Spending the summer at home was hard, horrible even. All your friends decided to spend their summer together, at James Potter's house. You couldn’t join, not when your parents were fanatic purebloods with a grip so hard it bruised, literally.
Sirius had managed to run away, to flee from his parents' iron grip. You admired him for his bravery, but in all honesty, you were a coward, right?
Did enduring it all, pushing through every insult and curse make you strong or weak? You didn’t quite know. The train came to a halt, the whistle reminding every student to get off.
You had avoided them, your friends. You’d usually walk past the Hufflepuffs to the wagon the Gryffindors inhapitated but this year you didn’t. The Slytherin wagon seemed more comfortable, quieter than their wagon. Just to avoid their questions, their worry.
With your bag around your shoulder you exited the train, a heavy feeling on your chest. You could feel it, the way they stared at you.
You looked him in the eyes, Sirius. No smile graced your face this year, there was just nothing to smile about. Your mother had made sure that you’d remember that.
“Y/N, where were yo-” he stopped talking as you walked past them, not giving them the time of day.
“What the fuck.” You heard Sirius say as James rushed after you. “Hey, Y/N.” He caught your shoulder, a confused look on his face.
“Didn’t you see-”I did.” You paused before turning around. “Let go of me, Potter.” You spat, the cold look on your face was painful. You wanted nothing more than to jump into their arms, to give them the warm smiles they deserved.
You ripped your shoulder out of his grip and stalked off, tears threatening to spill. You were sorry, so sorry it hurt.
“Y/N!” Remus yelled after you, but you were too far ahead, thankfully. You would’ve turned around otherwise.
-
Breakfast the next day was weird, you sat at your house’s table, the Slytherins. Nobody talked to you, you had sat at the Gryffindor table the past six years for all they knew.
The boys stared your way, watched how you didn’t eat. The way your eyes looked lifeless and you hadn’t touched your cup once.
It made them sick.
“She’s not eating.” Sirius said, bread in his hand. James leaned over looking over the heads of his friends.
“Is she even breathing?” he paused, taking a sip from his cup.
“She looks dead.” Lily sighed, her head whipped around to look at you.
“She’s skinnier. What did they do to her?” Remus looked over his shoulder as well, the sight of you, how broken you seemed hurt him. It was devastating to see you like this.
The food made you sick and without another thought you stood, determined to get away from it, from them.
Their eyes were on you, you could feel it. Your eyes found James’, against your will because the look in his hurt more than the crucio curse your mother had sent your way when you arrived back home this summer.
Your heart began to pound as you caught a glimpse of them making their way over to you. Your feet began to walk faster, to get away. “Y/N!” You could hear Lily but you didn’t stop walking. You cut the corner, your shoulder almost hitting the brick wall in the process. "Y/N!" Stop!” Sirius's loud voice stopped you in your tracks, your breath hitched as your eyes widened.
“Just, stop.” he spoke quieter, a hand already on your shoulder. You took a breath, eyes closing in defeat before you turned around, face in the cold mask you were just so familiar with.
“What?” you spoke, voice almost too quiet to hear. His eyebrows furrowed as he stared at you.
“What the fuck do you mean, what?”
You looked away, anywhere but his face. “Did you need anything?” A sigh escaped you and James pushed forwards.
“Are you kidding me? You’ve been avoiding us like the plague since we came back.” You crossed your arms and nodded.
“What is wrong?” Remus said, a hand outstretched to grab your arm, you flinched away. “Nothing.”
Sirius scoffed. “You can’t fool us.” he shook his head.
“Something happened to you back home, tell us.” he tried. A cuckle escaped you, face in a frown.
“You don’t know shit about what happened to me.”
Lily took a step toward you, your herbology book in hand. You took it without saying anything. “How could we, you won’t talk to us.”
“I’m busy.” You paused and took a step back.
“Astronomy Tower, 8pm.” Was all you gave them before you took off. Lily tried to reach for you but you were too fast.

There they stood, 8 pm sharp. “She’s not coming.” Moony spoke, elbows on the railing. Lily sighed and sat down next to Sirius who had just lit his next fag. “Just wait.” He spoke, breathing out the smoke. “It’s not been five minutes yet.” He said, shoulder leant on the brick wall behind him.
The door squeaked and their heads whipped around, you could feel their stares. With a smooth movement, you swooped your own pack of cigarettes from your pocket. Sirius had sprung to his feet, his lighter almost lit. You were faster and lit the stick on your own. “I got it.” you almost whispered before he retreated with a frown on his face.
“So, you gon’ talk now?” James threw your way, impatiently. “God, James.” Lily spat and stood next to you.
“What? It’s the truth, she’s been avoiding us, not wanting to be around us. I don’t know what the fuck is wrong with you.” He directed towards you, you sighed and took another drag of your cigarette.
“I will.” You said as you pushed your hand through your hair, desperately begging your heart to stop pounding.
You reached for your wand which was tucked in your right boot and took a breath before you called off the concealment charm and within a second the atmosphere on top of the astronomy tower changed.
Your friends now saw what you saw every day.
What the mirror showed you every time your laid your eyes upon it.
The scars of the objects your mother had sent your way in a fit of anger, the bruises of charms and hexes your father had used when you spoke back and the twitch of your eye, your lips of the many crucio curses you had to endure when you defended your friends.
“Oh my god.” Remus whispered, you took another drag of your cigarette. Your left eye still stung, it was probably blue too. You lifted your head, now looking at them.
“That’s why I couldn't talk to you.” You stomped on the done cigarette and sighed.
“I’m not as brave as you, Sirius.” Tears stung at your eyes, your chest tight.
“My parents are just like yours, selfish, hateful, awful people.” You paused and turned around, staring down the tower. The view was as beautiful as it had been the first time you looked down it. Absolutely breathtaking.
“I can’t seem to leave them, though.” Lily’s hand was on your shoulder now. “I’m too weak.” You let the tears fall, your clammy cold hands wiped at your nose.
“You’re not weak, Y/N.” Sirius spoke, no next to you, his elbow rested on the railing as well. “For all I know, you’re one of the bravest people I know.”
You stared at him now, your eye twitched again. You could feel it now, the pain, all over again.
“I’m not-”To take all of that, whatever your parents did to you and still stand here.” Lily’s hand rubbed your back as you tried to hold back the sob.
“You’re not at all weak, Y/N.”
Remus stood next to Sirius, his elbow on his friend's shoulder. A sad smile formed on his lips as he wiped the tears.
“We’ll take care of those.” He waved at the scars. “I’ve had my fare share of those myself.” he tried, a weak chuckle escaped your lips. An attempt to lighten the mood.
“There she is.” James grinned. “A smile suits you better.” You punched his shoulder softly and he chuckled at you.
“I’m sorry for ignoring you.” Lily waved you off, an arm now around your shoulder. “Don’t sweat it, love.” Sirius threw in.
“You’re not going back there, though. I hope you know that.” Sirius spoke.
“You could stay with us, I’m sure mom wouldn’t mind now that Pads is stayin’ with us anyway.” James smiled at you and you tried to give him a small smile yourself.
“Or with us, I’m sure my parents wouldn’t mind if I explained.” Lily spoke as she rubbed your shoulder.
“You’re not alone in this.” Remus spoke, a hand on your cheek to wipe the tears.
“We hold together, no matter what.” Sirius said, a hand stroked your hair as he gave you a small smile.
“I love you, all of you.” You spoke, a new fag in your mouth now.
“You’re more than friends” You paused and lit the stick.
“You’re my family.”
James barked out a laugh and took a sip from the bottle he brought up here.
“To family then.” You chuckled and nodded. “To family, cause my own sucks.” Sirius nodded and took a drag from his fag as well.
“This family only.”

12 YEARS LATER|S.O BLACK
Author’s note; will definitely be a part 2 to this.
Pairing; Young/POA!Sirius Black x Fem!wife!reader
Summary; 12 years after having your life ripped to pieces your godson walks into your home after returning home from Hogwarts and he’s invited someone else to come as well.
Warnings; Angst? Fluff.
HP/Marauders Master List
Tumblr media
You had tried keeping him out in the beginning, your heart would not be able to bear the pain that a playboy could cause. You had told him so, there would be no chance of you two ever happening, never thinking his womanising personality would change, especially not for someone like you.
But if Sirius Black was anything he was unrelenting, he was determined and genuine in his advances and soon you found your heart fluttering with each sparkling smile and cheeky wink he sent your way.
Each touch would send a spark of electricity shooting through your veins and each lingering stare would burn into your skin, each a reminder of him even when you were apart.
You were sixteen when the pair of you became official, a third of your way through your sixth year of Hogwarts and the pair of you were wrapped up in coats and scarfs, adorned with a heating charm to protect you both from the cool February air at the top of the Astronomy tower.
Who knew Sirius Orion Black could be a romantic?
In that moment as he held you under the night sky, holding your hand as he raised them both into the sky, directing you to where his namesake lay, how could you have said anything but yes to him.
You had spent the best years of your life with him, moving in together at seventeen, engaged at eighteen, married at nineteen, godparents at twenty and well, twenty one had left you and your godson alone.
All Hallows’ Eve of 1981 is a day you never want to remember but it’s a day that remains as a permanent scar on your brain.
Your closest friends had lost their lives, their son had lost their parents, Remus had disappeared without a trace, Peter was dead and your Sirius had been taken to Azkaban.
You didn’t have time to grieve, you had a child to raise and offer him the best life you could and you did.
You watched him adjust to walking by himself, learn how to confess his wants and needs with more than just childish babbles and each day you’d witness as he showed more and more qualities of his parents.
Not only did he share most of his features with James Potter but he also shared his father’s cheeky personality and charisma.
However, the times where you saw Lily in him shined bright; when he’d offer to share any treat with you or when he’d climb into your bed to protect you from the monsters (you knew it was for his own comfort but it still melted your heart).
Now, that little boy was a young man and whilst it was becoming common for him to give you near heart attacks, you couldn’t be more proud of how intelligent and brave he was.
You truly saw his maturity earlier in the year when you’d had to sit him down and tell him the news of Sirius Black, that his godfather had escaped the prison he was put into for the betrayal of James and Lily Potter.
He had been hurt, you had seen that but he had handled it with grace and was more concerned about how you felt than the possible danger he was in, because you were the most important person in his life.
It was now the end of June, you had allowed Harry to make his own way home from Platform nine and three quarters upon his own request, believing he was now old enough to have that extra freedom.
It left you at home to make his favourite meal for when he gets home alone with his favourite snacks, movie and blankets set up in the living room for a movie night after dinner.
It was around five in the evening when you heard the front door being thrown open followed by the dumping of his bags and trunk being dumped on the floor.
Then heavy footsteps pounded through the hallway, shortly followed by your vision being clouded by a mess of jet black hair as Harry launched himself into your arms.
"Merlin, Harry! You’re going to break one of my ribs if you keep growing," you exclaimed, wrapping your arms around him, he was growing far too quickly for your liking.
"I had the best year ever, Y/N!" He told you as he pulled out of your arms. "I think I passed all of my tests except divination but that’s a load of rubbish anyways, Hogsmeade was so much fun and Professor Lupin was actually a good teacher- oh, he told me to tell you he misses you by the way and that he’s sorry for leaving."
You smiled tightly, Harry had told you in his first letter about ‘Professor Lupin’ and whilst you were glad he had a good teacher, it was hard to ignore the pain that came with his name, he had left you and Harry alone in a time where you should’ve been able to rely on each other, you weren’t ready to see him or speak to him again.
"I’m glad you had a good year, Harry," you replied sincerely, turning back to watch the food as he continued speaking.
"Oh, and I met Sirius Black! He’s innocent so don’t worry about it, he’s actually amazing!"
You whipped your head around as the colour drained from your face. "You what?"
Harry couldn’t keep the smile from his face as he nodded "you’ll never believe it, I didn’t believe it in the beginning either but Sirius wasn’t mum and dad’s secret keeper, it was Peter Pettigrew that was secretly working for Voldemort and after my parents were murdered Sirius went to confront him but Pettigrew framed him, chopped off his finger and turned into a rat; can you believe he’s an Animagus!?"
He didn’t seem to realise how you weren’t matching his enthusiasm or how pale you’d gotten.
"Did you know Sirius could turn into a dog?"
"Harry…" you ignored his question. "You’ve seen Sirius? You’ve spoken to him?"
"Yeah!" He replied enthusiastically, not paying attention to the tone of your voice. "I wanted to talk to you about that actually, can he come and stay with us? I assumed it would be okay because the two of you are married and I thought we could be a proper family then."
You couldn’t even process what he was saying, it was as though you had completely disassociated, how could you even fathom seeing Sirius again?
The man you had loved and married all of those years ago, you hadn’t seen him in twelve years, you were two completely different people right now. He had been through unfathomable hell, hell that you couldn’t even begun to imagine and you had changed beyond belief, for Harry to believe you could just start over and pretend nothing happened was ridiculous.
And if Sirius believed that too then he was completely mad if not plain stupid.
A scratching at the door drew both your’s and Harry’s attention and the way his eyes lit up made you feel sick to your stomach. "Harry," you spoke faintly, "what is that?"
Harry titled his head at you curiously, "Well I told him where we lived so he could come and visit me, he was glad you hadn’t moved and well he wanted to see you as well."
You slowly shook your head, feeling completely overwhelmed at everything that had just been shot at you in such a small amount of time. "No no no no no, he can’t be here," you muttered frantically.
"What do you mean?" Your godson asked dumbly.
"I mean that he can’t just show up here out of the blue with absolutely no warning, we can’t just pretend that the past twelve years haven’t happened, Harry. It doesn’t work like that. We’ve both changed and we aren’t going to go back to being husband and wife. I’m happy you have your godfather back, Harry, I truly am but you need to give me some warning for this."
Harry slumped in his seat at the kitchen table. "What, so I tell him to leave? We have so much to catch up on."
The disappointed look on his face made your heart break, you had always struggled saying no to him and had probably spoilt him more than you should have but knowing that the man you had loved more than anything was on the opposite side of the door filled you with a sense of dread.
But how could you take this away from him?
You couldn’t, it was as simple as that.
You’d face your husband for the first time in over a decade if that made Harry happy because that’s all you had lived for the past twelve years, making your godson happy.
"Go and open the door," you regretfully nodded your head towards the front door, joy built up in Harry’s face as he jumped up and rushed for the front door whilst you simply stood alone in the kitchen waiting for your past to come and hit you in the face.
What were you even going to say to him?

"Daddy." Y/n whispered to Sirius, trying to to disrupt Remus and James' study session across the room.
"Yes, Bunny." Sirius smiled, running a hand over Y/n's head, noticing the tears falling down their cheeks. "What's wrong, My love?" He began to look them over for any injuries, though he doubted that was the case as Y/n had been napping for the past hour.
"I woke up an' bunny is ripped." They sobbed quietly. Their back was facing the two other boys, but they noticed the shake of their shoulders and the worried look plastered on Sirius' face. "I don' know what t' do." They pouted, holding their bunny with gentle hands, careful to not touch the loose stitches on it's leg.
"It's a good thing Papa knows how to sew, huh?" Sirius answered, a soft smile sent Y/n's way, hoping it would help calm them down.
Y/n turned to see both Remus and James already clearing the desk, a small sewing kit placed on the table, and a blanket folded in the center. "I din' mean to bother you." Y/n cried harder, watching as the boys got things all set up.
"You didn't bother us, Bunny." James wrapped Y/n up in a hug, his hands rubbing soothing circles on their back. "What are Bubbies for if not emergency Bunny surgery?" He smiled, taking the bunny from Y/n's hand and placing it on the blanket covered table. "I'll be assisting our doctor, Mr Papa today." He said in a silly voice, making Y/n giggle through their tears.
"Please take a seat, Miss Bunny." Remus said, pulling out the desk chair for them.
The surgery was quick and easy, Remus leaned over Y/n as he carefully stitched the leg's seam back together. The cream coloured thread blending in with the Bunny's fur perfectly. With a finishing knot and a kiss to the healed boo boo, Bunny was handed back.
"Thank you Papa." Y/n smiled, tears now dried, a soft smile plastered on their face as they snuggled their stuffed animal.
"Let's remember to finish our manners." Remus said, giving Y/n a soft but firm look.
"Thank you Daddy, and thank you Bubby." They raced to give both boys a big hug, finally settling into Remus' side as he sat on his bed.
"I think it's time for bed, hm?" Sirius smiled, turning off some lights and getting dressed for bed.
"I'm not sleepy." Y/n yawned, the energy they used up worrying over their bunny clearly coming to bite them in the back. "Maybe jus' a little." They smiled, their cheeks heating up in embarrassment.

Hi I'm so freaking obsessed with your twitter.
Also what's your favorite Romione moment in the books and why?
ohohoho thank you, friend, i’m quite proud of some of the stuff i’ve posted on there B)
and as for my favourite romione moment in the books, when i read the question i first blanked out for a couple minutes, thinking of a bunch of smaller, sillier scenes. but then i remembered that i do have a favourite and it’s from chapter 11 of DH, when remus visited the trio at grimmauld place and filled them in on he goings on of the war -including the implementation of the muggle-born registry. ron’s response upon hearing this (after his immediate outrage) was
Tumblr media
and it’s not just the hand holding and the “‘you won’t have a choice’ said Ron fiercely” that played out so vividly in my head like this:
Tumblr media
but this scene demonstrates so perfectly the political weight of this pairing (muggleborn/blood traitor) which i think is the immovable narrative foundation of romione. all of their silly moments and idiosyncrasies aside, there is genuine narrative purpose behind this love. ron has always had an astute understanding of the blood supremacist politics of the wizarding world (need i remind that he was ready to curse shitco at the ripe age of 12 for calling hermione the in-universe slur) and just how wrong it is. ron is a pure-blood wizard and by design has so much privilege in this society bc of it, but by virtue of having parents like arthur and molly, he’s grown up knowing the importance of fighting against blood supremacist ideology. always.
so, after hearing about the completely horrifying muggleborn registry ("People won't let this happen," said Ron. "It is happening, Ron," said Lupin.), he immediately turns to his muggleborn best friend and love of his life and says “i’m making you a family member, i’m going to use the protection my family-name has and use it to protect you from the awful injustice of our situation, no you won’t have a choice but to let me help you”
i remember having such a… visceral reaction while reading this scene like holy shit .. these kids, THESE KIDS!!!!! this is the bone-marrow-deep love that makes me feel insane. this dynamic of the blood traitor/muggleborn always there, from CoS all the way to the epilogue. We get to see that romione is the story’s pure blood/muggleborn that finally made it (rip jily and tedromeda :(). we see it in hermione keeping her muggle last name after they get married (oh my god these two actually got married) and we also see it in the hyphenated Granger-Weasley (granger being first!) in their kids’ last names (oh my gof these two had TWO kids). they are a true symbol of change and progress in their world.
also this is one of those moments where i’m so glad that our only window to romiones relationship development is through harry’s narration because it so brilliantly shows the readers this blossoming love story instead of just telling us about it because harry obviously doesn’t have access to the inner thoughts of his two best friends, he can only witness them fall deeper in love. showing the audience acts of love is always more powerful and my god is this an act of showing your love to your beloved.
(and not to go on an unrelated tangent, but this is exactly why i could never ship my girl hermione w any DE or DE-adjacent character. no fucking way. not when the concept of a muggle-born registry exists in this universe, not when the antagonists in this story wish to eradicate people like her from their society. idk about the rest of y’all but im going to keep taking the narrative seriously bc the worldbuilding obviously has real world ties/implications and i like engaging with the canon. tangently to the tangent, i saw someone (a ron basher) on twitter say that ron, OUR RON FROM THE ABOVE EXCERPT, was “one bad day away from becoming a death eater” ohhhh ohhh i ought to beat you with sticks bc HUH? this is the same kid who said he would’ve boarded the train back to kings cross if he got sorted to slytherin, the house notorious for birthing DEs, at the tender age of 11)
anyways, all this to say is that romione is incredibly, realistically, materially romantic and i love them and i love their love <3

Sirius always insists he has a terrible memory. "Really terrible," he'll laugh. "Actually, what was your name again?"
Remus doesn't see it though. Not when Sirius always knows exactly where James left his socks, or what obscure extracurricular Pete's packed into his schedule now. Especially not when he learnt the dates for every full moon in the next fifty years when researching lycanthropy.
"You know, I don't think your memory is as bad as you say Padfoot," he mentions while they're alone in the dorm. Remus doesn't have a clue where James and Pete are but Sirius wouldn't even have to check the map.
"What're you on about? It's literally rubbish."
Remus raises a brow. "You had every single possible quidditch infraction stuck in your brain - before James did!"
"Yeah well," Sirius shrugs. "That's quidditch. It's just for stuff I care about."
Reaching over and grabbing the nearest textbook, History of Magic: Year 3, Remus flips to a random chapter. "Really? You cannot convince be you care about, hmm," he clears his throat and in his poshest, most snooty voice, says "Changes in potion composition during the French occupation of England." No one could care about that. Not even he did and he actually liked History of Magic.
At least the voice made Sirius giggle. "Shut up. History is easy, it's just dates."
"Then what isn't?"
"Uhh, I don't know," Sirius goes quiet more a moment, then laughs again. Though this time it doesn't quite reach his eyes. "See, this is what I mean."
Remus waits while Sirius works his tongue into words.
"I can't really remember much from my childhood. Sometimes my mum will say something, like 'you were such a difficult child, remember when you did so-and-so' and I pull up a complete blank. Merlin that's bad of me, huh? Forgetting how I hurt people."
Sirius' fists ball up in his lap and Remus wants nothing more than to take them between his hands and smooth them out. He settles for shuffling closer and pressing their sides together.
"And I make things up. That feels like a memory thing too. It's not out of thin air but in my head I'll make something my mum said seem a lot worse than it was. Or I'll forget what prompted it so she seems like the bad guy. Usually I'd call her a lying cunt y'know, but even my dad and Reg agree that it's something I do a lot. Making myself the victim."
He's shaking now, Remus can feel his tremors ripping through him as well. "Sorry," Sirius sniffs. "I'm doing it right now-" he tries to say but Remus cuts him off.
"I think," he whispers, taking hold of Sirius' hand in his palm and tracing the heart line with his finger, "that you're a far better person than you give yourself credit for. And maybe your mum is a bit of a lying cunt."

Today's @wolfstarmicrofic prompt is amorous!
(566 words.)
The howler landing at the table wasn't exactly a surprise for Sirius. It happened way too often. Yeah, it had been a while, but he was going to rock the boat sooner or later. It was like he blacked out during his most recent fight with his parents, though. He couldn't actually remember what he'd said.
This was going to be fun, then.
The letter was already starting to smoke, and Sirius didn't fancy having to sprint with it to the dorm. That decided, he ripped the letter open and figured he could stand the staring. Everyone knew he was the black sheep of his family, anyway. What was one more howler?
He started to tune out the familiar screeching of Walburga Black, not really bothered. James was arching an eyebrow at her wording, and Remus was flinching slightly, his hearing too sensitive for the howler. He threw an apologetic glance towards him. Thankfully, the howler seemed fairly generic-
"You really think you have an amorous connection with that half-blood boy?! You are not going to throw yourself into a life of sodomy!"
All of the blood in Sirius' veins froze, eyes widening. His head snapped almost involuntarily to the howler on the desk as the argument from that half term break came screaming back to him.
'Merlin, you're not listening are you?! I'm not marrying Narcissa! It's bloody stupid, you know full well what her and Lucius are up to behind closed doors!' He folded his arms, the next words flying from him before he had a chance to stop himself. 'Besides, I doubt my boyfriend would fancy the idea of me going off and marrying someone else.'
Shit.
Suddenly, the eyes on him felt much stronger, his face heating up. He could feel his anxiety rising, peaking, and Great Hall stifling him. He needed to get out. Hurriedly, he took a deep, shaking breath, shoved himself up from the table, and practically ran from the room. In his haste, he didn't catch the footsteps following him from the room, right the way up to the dorm.
It was only when Sirius tried to shut the door behind him, get some of his breath back, and try to prevent a panic attack, that he noticed. A hand caught the door, swinging it gently back open as Sirius started to pace, shaking his hands. Remus shot him a gentle smile, shutting the door behind him and leaning against it.
"So..." He said carefully, watching as Sirius tried to walk off the stress. "I heard you've thrown yourself into a life of sodomy?"
"I'm so sorry," Sirius interjected quickly, exhaling suddenly and letting his shoulders slump. "I didn't know she'd- I would have taken it away if I'd known- I just- I can't-"
"Hey, no, it's okay," Remus said, surging forward and catching Sirius just in time for him to crumble. His arms wrapped warmly around Sirius, the panic that was gripping him at war with Remus holding him. Thankfully, a hand in his hair won over the anxiety attack, and a few tears freed themselves as Sirius started to relax.
"I really am sorry," He said again. "I know we hadn't decided on telling people yet-"
"Love, it's okay. I promise you, everything's okay." Sirius just nodded, thanking everything that Remus was so amazing. "Besides, everyone gets to know just how much I love you, now."
