Not only that but imagine going on to listen to the companion podcast hoping for some kind of insight only to spend the duration listening to rdm add insult to injury with zero self awareness.

Everything about Maelstrom lore is a punch to the face, but my favorite part has to be that the network was like absolutely not you are not killing Starbuck??? She's a favorite??? Are you out of your mind??? And then rdm straight up ~lied about how she was gonna be brought back so it'd be ok, which got the storyline approved.

Unparalleled media experience, I must say. It would not be until the great Supernatural clusterfuck of censorship and gaslighting of 2020 that we would see such audacity again.

I cannot fathom what the experience must have been like back on the night of March 4th 2007 when Maelstrom aired. When up until now the show had killed a few characters but really the only main character had been Billy. The whole hour is like, this is weird but they wouldn't kill Starbuck, right? Right?? Right??!!

but honestly! if you look at bsg fandom back in the day it seemed like folks were having one hell of a good time, but things seem to have petered out completely by 2014-- i mean i get it, with the way the show ended and all that, but still, it's sad.

you don’t understand, i’d kill to have been into battlestar when it had an active fandom. i mean it does. but on a VERY small scale. i wish there were more of us and i wish the actors posted about it more and i wish there was more behind the scenes footage and merch and fanfic and art. i love this show with all my heart but i wish the fandom didn’t feel so empty yknow?? like i’ve connected with most of it, where are the rest of y’all

so i went to my local library's website to double check which nearby library had the bsg boxset available and somehow it was checked out

whomst in the year of our lord 2023 is checking out the only complete series copy of battlestar galactica in the area

(before anyone says "you" i have an excuse i have rot of the brain)
