i just noticed this parallel in elrondriel and saudar -- i am not in either fandom but I thought it was cool how there is this pattern of friendship/love/what have you being formed in giving drink to the thirsty, and that being used as a symbol of recognition.

but also maybe a contrast in what galadriel has to offer (water) vs what sauron offers (wine), one being cleansing, the other intoxicating.

If you try to imagine two seasons of RoP without Adar (it's impossible, but if you strain and try), who would be your favorite then?

Arghhh!!! Such an interesting but incredibly difficult ask to answer... And I'm straining really hard...

I did really like him anyway, but I was so invested in the Adar/ Galadriel and Sauron/ Celebrimbor storylines that I probably didn't give enough credit to his storyline in season 2, though it was pretty epic when he got the sword and when he punched Kemen. In season 1, I loved all his scenes with Galadriel, Miriel and Isildur.

I'm definitely looking forward to him reuniting with Galadriel in season 3 as I thought they were lots of fun together and I also want to see him meeting Gil-Galad - but I'll miss him with Miriel! It's also a bit sad that we know his fate already, but hopefully he'll be around for all the seasons??? I assume his demise will be close to the end of the last season - but who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

Also, TBH, Adar wasn't my favourite in season 1 as I didn't have my awakening until season 2... But I don't think I had an overriding favourite back then, though I did ship Haladriel as I loved the chemistry between them.

I jumped off that ship as soon as Galadriel met Adar again in S2!!
