Here's a thought I had. Arthur humming to himself absent-mindedly. John harmonizing. Both creating a beautiful few seconds of a little harmony that only they can hear. A shared moment between them and only ever them.

update re: I Watch Marvel Content So You Don’t Have To: they did give the teenage boy a boyfriend. i mean technically he’s had one the whole time but they gave him one on screen and not just as a number on a missed call with a single line. they got to kiss and have several scenes together. i begrudgingly enter Didn’t Fumble This into the record.

The casting in The Last Airbender movie is all over the place, but we all knew about the whitewashing. What we didn’t remember is that Monk Gyatso is Black (shout out to Damon Jamal Gupton). And also they muted Gyatso’s lines, for some reason. Well, Dallas had a field day with that. Check out our Last Airbender reaction for more of what we think Monk Jamal might be saying.

The Dead Ringers TV Show Surprised Us, To Say The Least
Tumblr media
It's no secret that we are extremely against most remakes or reboots. There's just something about touching a great original piece and trying to do it yourself or modernize it for whatever reason.
Then in comes Dead Ringers. We tried so hard not to watch. But finally gave in. And we are glad we did.
David Cronenberg is a masterful director. The pieces he turns in are usually amazing all around.
This series was brought in to update it. There is a new flair here with the genders being reversed. The show doesn't pull any punches either.
There's a sense of uneasiness as you watch Rachel Weisz slither through each scene. She is great in this role. The show may have changed the gender roles in this but it's far from being a "woke" show as a lot of other people have described.
Some of the dialogue and scenes are offensive in nature. They show brutal violence up close and births of children in graphic detail. They curse and swear and it's not heavily leaned into the political or societal elements at all.
It's just a well made television show with great performances all around. Rachel Weisz is amazing as usual.
And for those unaware, Dead Ringers is about a set of twin doctors who are pushing themselves further i to insanity as time progesses. This feels like Cronenberg would appreciate what they did with the show.
