imagine steve martin hiring martin short as his servant and everything is normal until marty gets his "sister" hired as the maid cause then steve ends up cheating on his fiancee with the maid because she seduced him and steve soon finds out marty and the maid aren't actually siblings at all and it was all a lie and they tell steve they've been secretly engaged to be married this whole time and then because of all this steve fires marty but they both end up losing their fiancees and they meet up again at a bar and marty begs steve for a second chance because marty knows he lied but his ex fiancee made him do it, please take him back, what would he be without steve... and steve is like okay fine you can come back but the dynamic has changed and it seems like marty and his ex fiancee were in cahoots trying to ruin steve's relationship with his ex fiancee on purpose and the mutual betrayal thing was all an act but steve has been in so deep he doesn't realize it and it keeps getting deeper and now marty has started demanding steve help around the house and it starts to seem more like marty is in the position of a frustrated housewife than what most people would expect from a domestic servant and it's obvious that marty has been manipulating him but there's no turning back and it basically ends with something of an annihilation of steve's psyche. i'm both caffeinated and antihistamine drowsy as i write this sorry if it doesn't make sense.
