#i usually really like the spirits podcast but sometimes they say something that is soooo. everyone involved was a white woman.#just finished the women and other monsters episode and the ghsjjfjd.... 'the story tells that these people came onto this strange land and#took the cows they saw there and then the harpies came back and saw what was theirs was stolen and they confront the men and im surprised#this obvious connection isnt talked about more'#me: yeah thats a dead ringer for colonialism#them: a man can take and its fine but if a woman demands her rightful place it's evil#.... obviously the influence of the patriarchy cant be denied but that threw me. and no mention of colonisation hfjdjfj#also it just reminded me of that 'a man can laugh but a woman must chuckle' or whatever tweet
