brianna wu is the second example i have seen of someone who seems to be a fairly sober, fairly grounded, fairly normal person who is doing incredible, amazing pro-trans activism in a very real, on the ground, legislative sense, pushing for actual laws, bills, canvassing, talking face to face with representatives, all that good stuff.
and then they get exposed to internet progressivism and they lose their fucking minds, just completly, mind rotten coo-coo banana levels of losing their shit

I really really really love the people on the Left who I have found and chosen to learn from. They’re intelligent and eloquent and curious and give me so much hope (as well as turning me on to other amazing people). Just <3 <3 <3 <3

Who's you favorite YouTuber
VERY difficult question to answer because it shifts around a lot depending on what kinda videos people are dropping. I could do like a top 10 in no order which right now would be something like Anthony Fantano, Yhara Zayd, Sarah Z, Big Joel, Jack Saint, Swell Entertainment, Casey Aonso, Riley Grace Roshong, Kat Blaque and José.

I almost get second hand embarrassment for Riley Grace Roshong because she really was bragging about changing Kalvin Garrah’s mind only for him to continue to post on transmed subreddits and socialize with truscum on Twitter…. 😕 tsk tsk

Oh gosh my girls!
You are all well familiar with contrapoints but the other person here is RGR, Riley Grace Roshong. Way back when she was one of my favourite trans political youtubers/streamers. She got burned really bad by the nature of internet discourse(and because she decided to die on a hill that was frankly kind of stupid) and decided to quit, finish her carrer in law, and dedicate to actually work in congress, side by side with politicians to pass actual trans legislation in the state of maryland.
Seeing them together after all these years is a real treat, and on pride month no less!

Hay I know this is the first time we've interacted and I'm sorry to bring up discourse, but do you have your source list for that argument a few days ago? Your arguments were incredible and I wanna use it to explain being intersex and nonbinary to people.
Sure.
So in my pinned post there's a link to a Twitter account RGR Research Docs. So she's gone through as many studies as she could find and summarizes it within those docs, links to the studies included in her summary.
You should also give Riley grace roshong a watch on YouTube since she deals with political matters such as trans rights and arguments transphobes use, using actual studies.
Otherwise there's also vaush and xanderhal on YouTube
But for other sources I use
https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/voices/stop-using-phony-science-to-justify-transphobia/
https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/d/1Cx2skhMH-WhVi0VmoW-TQfZ-hbOBupAnsREmZfSAAoI/mobilebasic
Then just to get some insight here's a story of an ex terf
https://medium.com/@BeauDyess/prodigal-butch-7f0d2e00f693
And if you ever need to argue about JK Rowlings transphobia here's a nice article explaining all the problems with her

Sometimes twitter actually is really enjoyable. The last couple weeks Constanze was getting a rise out of smug debatebros and siss by impersonating the liles of Destiny, Riley Grace Roshong, Emerican Johnson etc and repeating their trans-med, eugenicist etc arguments and posts in a less paraphrased way that hit the exact spot of representing their opinions but in a way you would think: "they would never say it open like this, would they?".
Overall just major confusion an autost getting a rise out of smug assholes and one hell of a ride.
Sadly that Constanze Arc is over now. Sus sus amogus leftist twitter 2021 you won't be forgotten.

Another one bites the dust
After 3 conversations, a friendship I've had for over a decade may be over exclusively because I'm trans. One in a long line.
It started by her stating she agreed with JK Rowlings recent transphobic statements. After being as calm and collected as I could I listened to her explain her viewpoint. Her argument can be condensed into 'trans women aren't women'. Yes she talked a lot about biology and but after getting all that out the way I asked her so what your are saying is trans people aren't who they say they are and she agreed. After she posited there should be a different word, trans women calling themselves women angered her, I sarcastically added 'Yeah, desperate but equal' and she, not knowing the history of that phrase, excitedly agreed.
She believes gay people to be defective (but not in a bad way) since the biological fact dictates a man and a women be together (she's a lesbian) she also believes the only purpose for humanity is to have children.
I sent her a research paper and a video from a law student in Baltimore called Riley Grace Roshong because I believed these could put my points across far more eloquently than I ever could. I'm not in the best place to argue over things that effect so many people's lives and her telling me outright I'll never be a real man didn't make me feel like a million bucks, I can't keep an objective stance under those circumstances.
I'll add the research paper, she dismissed it, attacking the presenters character and called the research onesided.i asked her to send me studies showing otherwise.
She told me to apologise for calling her transphobic.
I can't even begin to explain how much this has fucking affected me the last few days.

Validating Trans Rights
Unfortunately, there is a lot of misinformation concerning trans issues and trans rights. Riley Grace Roshong has a research document that seems to cover a lot of points I see being brought up. I have recently been binging her videos and enjoy them a lot. I’ll link the document below... Have fun!

Just wanted to say i strongly agree w your comment on the Lindsay Ellis post. It's a message a lot of people on the left need to hear if we're to achieve literally any of our goals
In reference to this post.
Thank you for your thoughts. I'm glad this post resonated with you.
I think the issue is that a lot of people on the left confuse criticism from a place of genuine concern with concern trolling or harassment. This in turn leads to people bullying leftists people off of platforms who are doing a lot of good for the left based off of spurious accusations. Or, conversely, allowing bad actors to use this state of affairs to claim that they are being cancelled unjustly while perpetuating bad behaviors or ignoring legitimate criticism (think Destiny or Riley Grace Roshong, who I think should be relatively uncontroversial picks in this regard).
At the end of the day, the only thing to do here is to always take a moment to breathe, take a step back, and research before you cancel someone. And then still probably don't do it. There are tons of people who spread false/lopsided information around about people, either to maintain an aesthetic of progressive action ("hating the right people") or to deliberately divide and conquer (trolls and other agitators). Anger clouds judgement, and it is best to take a step back when someone is stoking your emotions to outrage.

Just go watch some debates from Vaush or Riley Grace Roshong and you'll see how they dissect conservative arguments. I learned a lot from Riley that if I were to defend my position, I have to have legit sources. You also have to look at how the sources came to their conclusion. You can't go on intuition alone, you have to have empirical evidence.
