So I just saw a post by a random personal blog that said “don’t follow me if we never even had a conversation before” and?????? Not to be rude but literally what the fuck??????????

I’ve had people (non-pornbots) try to strike conversation out of nowhere in my DMs recently, and now I’m wondering if they were doing that because they wanted to follow me and thought they needed to interact first. I feel compelled to say, just in case, that it’s totally okay to follow this blog (or my side blog, for that matter) even if we’ve never talked before.

Also, I’m legit confused. Is this how follow culture works right now? It was worded like it’s common sense but is that really a thing?

Feeling some kinda way this afternoon in regards to my art I guess.

I just did this back in 2020, but I find it funny how my opinion on what my favorite piece for a few years SHIFTED really hard actually because of overall colors and composition.

I gotta remind myself if I do at LEAST one or two pieces a year that I'm REALLY excited to still see years later, that means something. Right?

But god damn I gotta say, I really wish I knew how I did Ren's skin so perfect because he's ALWAYS going to be my favorite piece of 2020. Like holy SHIT I love how the washes came out, and the layering and face and eVERYTHIN' IS PERFECT. That's my boy. There he IS!!!

I constantly think of redoing some pieces but like, fart noises. I wanna redo some because I have better understanding of value muddying up and making things indecipherable now :T

I’ve been patiently waiting for a nice second-hand wood dresser to appear on fb marketplace or at Goodwill for months. Finally, I grabbed this one yesterday for $50.

My inspiration for this project are some dressers I saw at Anthropology that have gorgeous carved details. But I want my dresser to cost $200 or less rather than $2,000.

Of course I can’t add actual hand-carved wood, but I’ve got clay and some silicon molds + epoxy and a potential overconfidence in my DIY abilities.

First up, I removed the existing hardware and sanded this pretty lady down. She is now looking MUCH better without all those terrible stains (and the drawer pulls weren’t doing it for her, tbh).

Up next, I’ll give her a paint wash or three and start trying my hand at faking some carvings!

It would finally make manufacturers design vehicles that are safer for pedestrians and cyclists, instead of the massive wall-of-steel front ends that are excessively deadly for no reason. Europe already has rules like this, but unless we comment in approval, they're not going to do anything to halt the increasing pedestrian deaths in our country.
