Vibe check for borderline crack but also kinda serious AU where Baldr somehow finds himself heart freeloading in Riku years after his death, and now Riku has a keyblade wielder with a body count hanging around over the events of the mainline games. Baldr haunting the narative figuratively AND literally.
Extra features such as Riku and Baldr having extra strong light in them because to quote the intro to KH1 "the closer you get to light the greater your shadow becomes" but much like how negative times can easily overtake positive ones, it's not easily noticeable.
Featuring events such as:
Hanging around Destiny Islands as an incorporeal ghost that can barely interact with Riku but spending most of his time sleeping or at ease kinda does wonders for all those repressed emotions and trauma.
Adults think Riku has an imaginary friend. Riku was halfway convinced he was being haunted thanks to Baldr's white hair, eyes and lashes.
Baldr gets attached. Just a little bit.
Watching Riku struggle with his inner darkness and feeling abandoned in KH1 hits a little too close for comfort for Baldr, but hey, he knows from experience that anyone's voice would be preferable to the darkness.
Baldr clocking Xehanort almost immediately and going what the fuck. What the hell are you doing. Bastard what happened to you after all these years. Finds out Xehanort's trying to create Kingdom Hearts and is all OH so when *I* try to do it, you kill me, but if it's you, it's totally fine? I hope the kid beats your ass.
Baldr popping in as a voice in the climax and giving Ansem Seeker of Darkness a crisis before he dies, which he didn't quite *mean* to but he can still read emotions as a heart ghost. Feels kinda good he's not gonna lie.
Riku eventually grows taller than Baldr and he feels slighted. Offended. You're supposed to be a pipsqueak stop that.
Riku instead of turning into Ansem SoD in KH2 takes on the form of Baldr from connecting with his own darkness and, by proxy, Baldr. Instead of getting taller he gets shorter.
Cue Baldr weighing the pros and cons of Riku revealing his new form in front of Xemnas like- Cons: The possible rise of danger my heart innkeeper will be in. Pros: Chaos.
Sora squinting at Baldr!Riku until he screams and points like "YOU'RE THE GUY! FROM RIKU'S DRAWINGS! THE GHOST!" and Kairi doesn't get it until Sora reminds her of the guy Riku sometimes talked about when they were kids and drew pictures of and then SHE'S pointing like !??!!?! and Riku's like uuuuhhhh I can explain but it'll take a while.
"You know Xehanort? Why didn't you say anything??" "Yeah he was my classmate. And then he executed me after I killed the others in our class. And some of our upperclassmen. It's not the best conversation opener."
Riku becoming understandably distressed once he finds out how exactly Baldr died and the lead-up to his breakdown. Has to go talk to Mickey and be reassured that if Riku ever loses his way in the darkness again, they'll pull him right out no matter how many times it takes.
Baldr tries very, very hard not to be bitter.
"My feelings about my friends, sister and place of birth are complicated on the best of days, but I'm glad you don't have to live with the suffocating guilt and anxiety that there's something inherently wrong with you for having even a sliver more darkness in you than what's considered acceptable and worrying your loved ones will put you down if they find out. I'm glad you have people who understand you, and who try to understand you."
"Do you ever wish you could meet your sister again?" "I'm content mourning her."
The state of Sora, Riku and Kairi's friendship and complicated feelings about each other is almost enough to give Baldr an aneurysm when he feels them.
The fun of DDD where Baldr can take a solid form inside the dream realm and meets young Xehanort when his death is still fresh in his mind :^ )
Baldr, finding out about what happened with Eraqus and his apprentices; "Goddamnit Eraqus."
Someone telling Riku to follow his heart and he goes "Are you asking me to kill?"
Baldr; The number one guy who can get under Xehanort's skin and tear down his 'specialest guy' mindset, and only partly because his emotions are an open book to him. Takes a look at adult versions of him and goes "Oh I want to bully him so bad, it'd be so easy." Xehanort; Has spent the last decades researching darkness because of Baldr, while also pointedly not thinking about Baldr, that Baldr killed their friends, or that Xehanort killed him.
Why is Baldr in Riku? Eeeh, unsure. Mayhaps the kids were all meant to go to Quadratum after they died but Baldr went "nope" and drifted around instead until Riku was born and his heart went "oh twinsies". Maybe his classmates have been looking for him, after time has passed to think and reflect yet there's still been no sign of him.
And since I'm a sucker for happy endings all the DR kids reunite in Quadratum and Xehanort and Baldr can now kick each other's ankles and be the kind of pair that would be unbelievably toxic where they different people but it somehow works. Being able to read your partner's emotions would be very one-sided in any situation except where they can read yours right back.
#baldr#riku#khdr#xehabaldr#kingdom hearts dark road#baldr kh#xehanort#pardon me i'm brainrotting about a character in a kh mobile game#and the parallels between him and the main villain for most of the series only for it to turn out OH HE'S THE GHOST HAUNTING HIM TOO#and the parallels between him and riku#shits delicious#but because it's from a mobile side game the fanbase is miniscule and it's so sad cause there's so much good in it#nomura please give me high definition baldr i know he's gonna crash the “prettiest kh character” ranklist like an atomic bomb#if anything seems out of character it's cause i haven't been here long#kingdom hearts

Nomura climbed out of his cave to tell us that not only is he possibly retiring in a few years, but that he will either finish the series before he retires or retire and let someone else finish the series. What a bombshell today has turned out to be.
If he retires and decides to finish the series, KH4 will ultimately be the last Kingdom Hearts game.
Meaning our last Kingdom Hearts game is Dream Drop Distance 2.0
Take a minute to let that soak in.
Sora and Riku clawing through the streets and alleys of Quadratum, Riku desperately searching for Sora and Sora (not knowing Riku was coming to save him) searching for a way back home, the two finally reunite after Yozora (possibly) turns Sora into a popsicle and Riku thaws him out (with his love), then Sora realizes Riku is the one who is always saving and protecting him and realizes that Riku is his Light. The two then fight their way through the Lost Masters and Master of Masters who is possibly responsible for Yozora's body being swapped and make their way home holding hands with fingers intertwined (and with Strelitzia in tow). The rest of the cast celebrate their return, Strelitzia returns to her brother. Cue end credits.
Something like that (but with much more detail, addressing many more story plots and maaaybe not as romantic lol) would pretty much be Dream Drop Distance Soriku the Game all over again.
If the entire series wraps up in a single game, there's no way to fit everyone else into the story. They will probably all show up in between cutscenes here and there and then return once more at the end when Riku brings Sora home. The main focus, the final focus, would be on Sora and Riku. Endgame would be Soriku. There would be little way to fit SK into the current scenario given that K is all the way in the Kingdom Hearts realm training under Aqua and won't be a major part of Quadratum at least for the first half. Unless they complete her training mid-game and shoehorn her in to save Sora at the last second then I guess that ship would sail, but I simply don't see it happening. Nomura just hasn't been the one to use K that way, at all. Ever. He has yet to shoehorn any character anywhere, he always makes sure the characters fit in with purpose. The only time would be the FF7 cast in the Limit Cut episode and that was only after huge demand from fans asking for the FF7 crew. If Nomura has no intentions of making use of characters then he simply doesn't use them and he makes it very clear.
Plus if KH4 is the last and they confirm Soriku, then they don't have to care about fan backlash because the series would just be over. There would be nothing left to lose with no future titles to worry about tanking. It would work all around.
Of course, if he retires and decides NOT to end the series then anything could happen. Literally anything. Even a SK endgame if the new writers or director are fans of SK. I hope Nomura finishes what he started, for the sake of everything that has been built up towards this game. Or we're going to have to hope the new team follow Nomura's notes and don't diverge.
Okay that's enough brainrot for me, goodnight all
Adding in that I think they'll squeeze in a final game, KH5 (or Kh4 Part 2.7292728 w/e tf Nomura decides to name it), but I really don't see too many additional games since they take like 8 years to develop. 2 more games alone will tack on 15-16 years.

riku kh & silver twst comparisons
am i only on book 3 of twst? yes. will this stop me? no.
(please for the love of all that exists do not spoil me on anything past book 3)
(i havent taken my adhd meds in over a week someone please save me. im descending into brainrot madness.)
first off, they're near identical (especially with riku's weird horseshoe crab-lookin hairstyle. it looks fine here but it's weird when u see it from behind lol)
only glaring difference (appearance-wise) is the eye color
i mean look at them. ripped? yes. gorgeous silver hair? yep. popped collar? indeed.
look at them! theyre so pretty!
besides appearances, we've also got their connections to maleficent. (silver is in Diasomnia, the dorm dedicated to maleficent; and maleficent all-but adopted riku in kh1)
they're both good at wielding swords (riku is a keyblade master, silver's icon is a sword and one of his quotes is about sword training)
they both have connections to sleep/dreams (silver is always fighting off sleep and i believe i've heard smth about his signature spell relating to dreams but i have not seen that personally yet; riku is sora's dream eater which is a WHOLE other thing that i will go insane if i think about too much)
and theyre both light-coded (ive heard that silver is supposed to represent aurora and/or prince philip but again i dont know for sure; RIKU IS THE LIGHT!!!!! boy is the sun, given SO many halos in-game and in official artwork, nomura when will you reveal your secrets)
they both act tough but they're actually really caring (i know this for certain with riku, but it's just a feeling i have that may or may not be supported for silver)
also i have a major crush and/or gender envy for both of them so. that one's more of a personal judgement but whatever.

Vanitas HAS to be in KH4.
So I watched a couple of Vanitas scenes and now my brainrot is back in FULL force so im gonna be annoying for a bit.
I genuinely think Vanitas is one of the best characters that Nomura can put into KH4 thematically.
This is the game where:
1) Sora will be struggling with his own darkness, especially after his breakdown in KH3. Someone on here had a brilliant theory on how light represents selflessness and darkness selfishness, ill link it below since Tumblr won't let me tag them @andrewwtca
Anyways, Sora as we all now is a very selfless, downright self sacrificial person which what can be theorized is what happens when there is "too much light".
(Need I call back to the the stronger your light the stronger your shadow grows opening from KH1)
No doubt Rage form and Anti-form will be explained or at least the game will lay the groundwork for the explanation in the future, my point is, what better way to add weight to Sora's arc than bringing up Vanitas someone hes met that is "pure darkness".
2) The start of the foretellers arc which would be a great opportunity to tie in the Darkness and Vanitas content we got from Dark Road and KHUX, especially with Strelitzia being a secondary character in the game.
(I also suspect that Ventus is going to be a major player in the arc to come with the addition of that Chriithy and Ven interaction at the end of KH3)
Because as much as everyone says otherwise...we don't really have confirmation on w h a t exactly Vanitas is, sure characters and Vanitas himself guess and speculate but we haven't got confirmation and I think thats important.
Kingdom hearts is a series which allows its characters to be wrong, we've seen this time and time again (nobodies can't grow hearts for example) which is why I find it kinda hard to believe that Vanitas is and will stay some "ancient evil pure darkness".
Especially when, regardless of whether you think the novels are canon, Vanitas is an abuse victim in the BBS novel, he comes off more as a scared child than an ancient evil. Its plain as day you can't interpret it any other way
(also canon or not Nomura had to approve them pre release)
Add to that the subtle changes in expressions and voice acting during the end of BBS, the KH3 Monsters Inc world and his theme being in the Heroes section of an orchestra.
Idk gang some of yall have way too little faith in Nomura and the team behind these games.
I was dissapointed with Vanitas' handling in KH3 at first too but if you look at it from a deeper lens (as we should always its KH after all) the Two Vanitas theory, especìally @embraceyourdestiny 's explanation which I think is fantastic btw, works.
Or at the very least, him starting a redemption arc in KH4 is more thematically cohesive with that game rather than KH3, frankly I think it would have been too rushed to add into KH3 with everything else going on.
"But he said he fully accepted his darkness" Yeah and Xigbar is Luxu, characters can hide their feelings or lie yall.
Even if he DOES truly believe that, don't you think its a touching story for a character who's hit rock bottom and has 0 faith in themselves to start their road to redemption? KH has always been sappy it would be a hard oppurtunity to miss.
#kingdom hearts#kh4#kh4 speculation#vanitas kh#vanitas#vanitas kingdom hearts#Anyways I have a massive Vanitas problem I love him so so so much guys#I have a pinterest board dedicated to him my old phone had an archive of saved art n fanfic of him#On an informal note if I don't see him in KH4 ill cry :(

I've been dealing with KH brainrot lately and, lacking for other things to do, decided to make a masterpost of all potential evidence pointing to Vanitas (who's one of my favorite characters) making a comeback in KH4.
The first indication that Vanitas could reappear in the future comes in Dream Drop Distance, which implies that he found his way into Sora's heart at the end of Birth by Sleep, much like Ven did. Let me explain.
Xehanort's entire plan in DDD is based on Sora having the whole Heart Hotel thing going on. During his encounter with Sora in La Cité des Cloches, Young Xehanort outright proclaims:
"You are the one who has made your heart a prison. [...] Even if you are not the prisoner."
While it may seem that he's just talking about Ven, Xion, and Roxas here, that notion is contradicted at the end of the game when Riku meets with Data-Ansem the Wise, who says this:
"And some of those hearts never left him- whether they fell into darkness or were trapped there- whether they sleep in the darkness of Sora's heart, or were welcomed into its warmth- they can be saved."
Ven, Xion, and Roxas are all shown to be in a recreation of Destiny Islands - the light of Sora's heart. They can't be who Data-Ansem is talking about here. The only person who can be inside the darkness of Sora's heart is Vanitas.
Vanitas's final scene in KH3 adds to this, where he has this exchange with Sora after being defeated.
Sora: Then why won't you stand by our side? Instead of with darkness? Vanitas: Because I am darkness. And I do stand by your side. I'm the shadow that you cast. How much closer could I be?
This exchange takes on a whole new level once you take Rage Form into account, where Sora becomes consumed with anger (remember that the Unversed are basically Vanitas's negative emotions given physical form), uses darkness-based attacks and the same fighting stance as Vanitas, and doesn't cast a shadow.
Neither does KH2's Anti Form, for that matter. Although Nomura said in an interview that Rage Form and Anti Form are based on separate concepts (Anti is Sora "being completely stained in darkness" while Rage is him "going into a rampage state, controlled by feelings of anger"), I still find the connection notable. Mainly because KH2's Drive Forms are symbolic of a bond Sora has (Valor = Goofy, Wisdom = Donald, Limit = Kairi, and Master = Mickey) but have to be activated manually. That is, except for the two that activate randomly - Final (which is a reward for beating Roxas and thus represents him) and Anti, which Sora has from the very beginning.
Also from KH3 is the chess match between Eraqus and Xehanort. Looking at the board, you can see two versions of the piece that represents Vanitas - one that's still on the board and another that has been captured by Eraqus. Take a look.
Even though it's not strictly canon, there's a passage from BBS's light novel that I want to include. In it, Vanitas is enveloped in the same light that Ven is, the light that brings him to Sora's heart.
"Light arose from the spot where Vanitas had disappeared. It flared, then blanketed Ven's body as well. It was soft and tender. Radiant and whole. Is it over...? Wrapped in this strong, benevolent light, Ven descended into the darkness. I know this place - it's so familiar. This...is your heart."
I know, I know - the light novels aren't canon. However, the BBS novel depicts Vanitas in a far more sympathetic and tragic light than in the original game, which his latest appearance in the games, Dark Road, leans slightly more towards. In it, he disobeys Xehanort's order to stay in the Keyblade Graveyard out of concern for/curiosity regarding Ven's condition post-split and becomes scared after Xehanort threatens him.
The scene also reveals that Xehanort suspected that Vanitas is one of the Willful Darknesses and was never part of Ven, instead being a separate entity that was merely hiding inside him. That being said, this goes against a previous reveal in the game, which establishes that, if someone keeps foreign darkness inside them long enough, it will become a permanent part of them. As Baldr's darkness puts it:
"Are you sure you want to do that? We're one now. If I disappear, he will too."
While Ven's own heart and the Willful Darkness inside him may have been separate, they likely weren't by the time of Vanitas's birth - explaining both Vanitas's ability to feel some of Ven's emotions and how the whole thing almost killed Ven. It wasn't the surgical removal of a parasite, it was a limb being ripped off.
Of course, the connection is still an important one that, given KH's explorations of personhood, individuality, and identity, will likely be explored further. (Especially since Strelitzia is most likely going to be a major character in KH4.) Also, while Vanitas says that he was never a part of Ven in Re Mind, he only does so after Ven shot down them being brothers in favor of them being the "same"... which he doesn't take well.
There's a few more things I want to go over before ending. First, "Heroes and Heroines: Characters' Medley" is a medley combining the leitmotifs for the main protagonists of the series before ending with, of all songs, Vanitas's boss theme.
As part of the celebrations for the franchise's 20th anniversary, a special artwork was released. In it, characters that are connected are grouped together. At the bottom left, we have reformed antagonists. The Seekers of Darkness's traitor trio (Isa, Even, and Demyx) is there, as is Ienzo. However, there's one outlier:

KH Animated Series Rough Draft - Xehanort/Ansem
So I’ve kinda had like KH brainrot coming back, mostly in the form of BBS up to KH2, and one of the few thoughts I’ve had was “how the hell can this series be adapted WHILE being completely distinct from the narrative from both the Pre-BBS and Post-BBS content?” So I just thought about how to adapt Xehanort. Not the old man, I’m referring to Terranort/Ansem. Here’s what I have down so far.
He’s still Terra-Xehanort with amnesia, and not even becoming Ansem SoD changes that.
There is no Master Xehanort grand plan.
Kairi actually full on remembers that this man EXPERIMENTED on her.
His role during the KH1 section of the show would remain the same, except his reports are given more focus, and he at least appears once in between the first and last half of season 1.
In Season 2, the CoM and 358/2 Days parts of the show, Ansem would take up a similar role that he had in CoM for the first half, even taking over his body completely during Riku’s fight against Lexeaus. The only differences are that DiZ never disguises himself as his former apprentice, and Ansem is pretty much a consistent voice in Riku's head until Riku takes on his form in Days.
Ansem gets defeated by Riku, but this isn't the last we'd see of him in the narrative, because he spends the rest of season 3 haunting it through his research, and his nobody, Xemnas.
In season 4 (or at least a 3 part special finale), Xehanort is back as himself, but he gains the memories that Xemnas had, and by extension KNOWS enough pieces of his past lives as two Keyblade wielders to form a new plan to drown the worlds in darkness and become a god.
He sets up shop at the Keyblade Graveyard, and revives a Lingering Spirit to do his dirty work.
He welcomes Braig/Xigbar back into his employ to assist him.
He manages to convince Maleficent and Pete to join up with him.
He also brings 9 more people into his new little gang, Saix, Luxord, Malden, a Riku Replica, a younger replica of Master Xehanort based off scraps of his memory (We'll just call him Copy X), a replica of himself that takes more after Terra (Copy T), Replica No. I, a Roxas replica, and last but not least, a heartless Aqua.
In case you can't tell these 13 fellows are the XIII Darknesses, and they end up at least taking... 3 hearts from the Princesses of Light.
Xehanort has his eyes set on the X-Blade entirely for this plan, and gets it after his lackeys get beaten into paste, and by straight up offing Riku, who took a huge bullet for his friends.
Xehanort is enjoying his newfound power, and attempts to unlock Kingdom Hearts with it, but before he could ever manage to succeed, Sora and Kairi DEMOLISH him, along with the X-Blade.
Finally, Xehanort dies for good, as he starts to feel the life leave his body, he is on his knees and is having a full on breakdown, not understanding how Sora and Kairi were able to stop him, screaming that he "has to know," meanwhile Sora and Kairi just don't respond and watch as the man who's terrorized them and the entire universe fades away for good.
So yeah, this is my rough draft, and its basically just Ansem/Xehanort II from the games in the first half of the show, and for the second half he takes on a less confusing version of Master Xehanort's path, complete with a deserved demolishing. Again this is a rough draft, but I like what I've concocted so far in my head.

-BATS EYES-
What got u into rokushi? 🥺
FSDFSGFS honestly i forgor,,, but i think it was like this
Back in 2015-2016 ish i got into KH and was really obsessed with it. I was like reading wikis, watching cutscenes, watching gameplays, reading posts, just ANYTHING. The brainrot was so real you have no idea.
So I stumbled upon days and read the lore and such. Roxas and xion's relationship really caught my eye at the moment. Roxas and xion was already climbing up my ladder as one of my faves so I was really hyperfixated on them and researched the hell out of days. Just how much they both struggled, how much trauma they went through, and the irony that even tho they're nobodies they displayed some of the most emotional potrayals in the games. The xion death scene, when xion screamed when confronted by riku, roxas' battle with riku, roxas' arguments with axel, etc etc. Like, KH is usually NOT that emotional (it was at some occasions but not to this extent) and I was so invested with all the angst that the trio had to deal with.
It was not until I read the manga that rokushi really got to my attention. Like they already did but it caught more of my attention. The way the manga potrayed all the charcters was just so... idk how to describe it. It was just so dear to me. They're 100x funnier, livelier, goofier, more expressive than the games (which I'm not saying the games are bad, games have their limitations after all).
The way the manga potrayed roxas and xion's interactions was just 🥺🥺🥺 he was just so captivated by her at first sight and that moment really caught my attention. As they progressed, they cling by each other and showed how much they cared so much for each other.
There was one scene in the manga where roxas was in a coma I think and the dusks were messing with him like scribbling on his face and tying his hair and xion was there taking care of him and cleaning him like 😭😭😭
TL;DR the manga really caught my eye and amplified my love for them. I have so many more moments and trivias that I could talk about that shows how much they care about each other but this asnwer is already long enough dsfsjdgfsd
#asks#when I said you could bother and annoy me oh boy YOU DELIVERED#thank you so much#kwoojii#i'll answer the other asks later lol

I feel like tiering the child headcanons that I’ve seen in Xenoblade 3 :)
S Tier (literally just canon)
Nia + Rex >> Mio
The game confirms this one, right?
Pyra + Rex >> Glimmer
I’m going to pretend to make an analysis here.
Shulk + Fiora >> Nikol
They’re very cute together in-game. Shulk’s a cute father.
Morag + Brighid >> Sena
I mean, I guess it’s technically not explicitly canon, but like, explain Sena’s hair if she’s not related to Brighid challenge.
Riki + Oka >> Riku
In hindsight, I’m kinda surprised I never saw this proposed as a headcanon considering the brainrot surrounding the other Keves pairs.
A Tier (I personally hold these headcanons)
Shulk + Fiora >> Crys
I think Crys is a lame villain that is conceptually very interesting. I think the reason this is a somewhat common headcanon is because *look at him*, but also, Crys talks a lot about carving his own fate and controlling his destiny in rebellion to a world that denies him that control. He’s defined by his decision to intentionally die before reaching Homecoming. It’s an interesting perversion of Shulk’s will to defy fate. Where that will eventually results in him opposing the heroes. So, I think making Crys Shulk’s son adds to the concepts behind his character.
Shulk >> A
I wrote a fanfiction about this concept :)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/46817347
I’ve been a fan of Shalvis for a while, but I’m not really interested in writing romance for them (I’m aroace and autistic, writing romance just doesn’t click for me). But I really like the idea that Shulk’s will and belief in the Monado is what caused it to become alive. Which is also (somewhat) supported by the information we have about how Ontos functions. Where Ontos is reliant on the wills of others to exist as a person. Furthermore, Alvis’s design is a mash between Klaus in Galea, while A’s design is a mash between Shulk’s and Alvis’s. I’ve been growing rapidly attached to parental Shalvis since the DLC’s release.
Dunban >> Ashera
I’m guessing the main reason this isn’t the accepted headcanon is because Dunban doesn’t canonically lay down with anyone. If I were to guess, I’d say that he gets together with someone post-game, and it’s probably an OC (or NPC if you want to stick to existing characters). But, yeah, Ashera definitely looks like Dunban, she has several references to his kit in her own, they’re both dodge-tanks that also like to do dps, and she has the signature Dunban Family Stubbornness (and disregard for safety lmao). Plus her big neck injury plot stuff feels very “Dunban” to me. Like, her will is too powerful for Aionios. I imagine that the Ashera in Aionios would remind Dunban painfully of a younger version of himself, which is the main reason I like this one. I think what I like the most about this concept is that I imagine that the Ashera who grew up as Dunban’s child would be an almost unrecognizably different person than the Ashera in Aionios. Which I think could say a lot about the Aionios Ashera. Also, I imagine that Ashera’s neck injury would persist even after Aionios, which would give Dunban a massive parenting challenge to deal with.
B Tier (plausible but I disagree)
Reyn + Sharla >> Ashera
I mean, I agree with the idea that she’s the kid of someone in the main cast, but I just think her being Dunban’s kid makes more sense. That said, I totally believe in the potential for this to be fun in a fic. Like, imagine Reyn having to do anything with baby Ashera while Sharla’s just disappointed in the background. Flawless.
Melia + Shulk >> Zeon
I suspect that this is a headcanon even if I haven’t seen it. Mostly because the thought passed through my brain. My main argument against this is that I’m pretty sure Melia and Shulk didn’t get together. That said, I could totally see Zeon being Melia’s son. He’s got a noble air to him. Also, something funny about the heir to the High Entian throne become a potato farmer. He kinda gives off Kallian vibes tho. I think Melia would be proud of her potato son.
C Tier (not impossible but lame)
Shulk + Melia >> Eunie
I find Eunie as Melia’s kid to be rather lame ngl. There’s not much to work with here in terms of story prompts and it feels like a commonly accepted headcanon solely because Eunie’s in the main cast. That said, if I were to propose an alternative off the top of my head, making her Tyrea’s kid would be fucking hilarious. Like, imagine Assassin Mom and Chaos (Medic) Child.
D Tier (I disagree and think it’s lame)
Shulk + Fiora >> Noah
I mean, this headcanon only existed because Noah’s the protagonist of 3. But, it’s never made sense. Especially after the DLC and we know that Shulk has no affinity with N (plus now Shulk has an actual son). I’m not going to shit on works for including this headcanon since it’s all whatever and some of them are still very fun reads. But I, personally, find this headcanon to be both lame and unlikely.
F Tier (tbf, funny)
Egil >> Valdi
I’ve only really seen this in Egil Lives AUs, which I think is the least interesting version of this concept. Like, let’s say Egil did have a son and that son was Valdi, that would make Valdi an orphan who has to live with the baggage that his dad tried to kill everyone, including his friends, assuming he makes friends with Bionis-borne life, which could have an interesting dynamic with Valdi being the most healer healer to healer amongst the healers. We know Valdi’s a gearhead, so I wonder if he meets Shulk somehow? Maybe Vanea’s looking after him and she introduced them. Shulk didn’t know that Egil had a kid. Like, fucking imagine. Ouch. That said, I definitely see Valdi as Egil’s son as a funny AU fanfiction prompt more than anything approaching canon, which I’m pretty sure ppl who’ve written that would agree to.
Dunban + Vanea >> Lanz
I’ve seen this proposed once. And, to my understanding, it was done specifically to ruin Egil’s day. Which I, personally, approve of.

i’ll do a better intro post later but just so y’all have the basics: hi i’m fen (she/her), i’m 23, black, and bi. i currently have kingdom hearts brainrot so kh is what i mainly post on here now :)))
more stuff about me in relation to kh if you’re curious:
- i’ve loved kingdom hearts since i was around 3 years old! i started out watching my older sister play kh1 and kh2 until i was able to finally play on my own. 358/2 days was the first kh game i owned but dream drop distance was the first kh game i beat by myself.
- i’m not much of a shipper these days but i love soriku with my whole heart and i do believe in their romantic subtext in the series so some of my discussions could be biased in that regard
- i wasn’t into kh theories/analyses in the past but i’ve gained a lot of interest the past couple years so if you got some to share pls let me know i will eat it up lmao
- i have a variety jrpg youtube channel that features a decent amount of kingdom hearts, a lot of my future video ideas are kh related so if you’re interested consider subscribing (@/fentasies)
- I’ve played through every kh game from start to finish except chain of memories and days. my favorite is kh2 and my second fave is ddd.
- riku is my favorite character!!! love that boi
- my favorite kh songs: TBD but just know that monstrous monstro really gets my spirits up

Thank you for the counterargument! I do admit that my headcanon is purely self indulgent (hence the 'Maybe I'm just looking way too deep into this') to my viewpoint of the KH series as of right now but I want to try to defend it a little bit!
One: Re:Coded takes place in a digital world so while Sora isn't trying to be Master, it makes sense like aesthetic wise to have the command system. Computers can only do so much outside the realm of the real world/realm of canon. TL;DR: no lore analysis from me here, just vibes
Two: I did actually consider Days when making this and my reasoning is just that. It was published on the DS. It's just easier to have a less expansive combat system than to copy KH2, LOL. And... I guess you could just make this argument over and over against my headcanon and well, I wouldn't be able to refute you at all. Because yeah, the reason for these changes at its core is just that it's easier for the console. But at the same time, the curtains are blue because of symbolism ^^
Three: I don't consider CoM to have a command deck as much as just! Well, a deck. This is kind of the same as Coded where it's kind of for the vibes (but there is actual lore reasons that the game provides!)
And I'm not going to actually defend my POV here and I'm going to side with you: Riku does have the most freedom in DDD! And you're also right that hoo boy, it's very suspicious that Riku's most comfortable with using darkness in Sora's heart. I think that's most of the reasoning why his KH3 playstyle isn't as free as his DDD one. In DDD, as you progress in the story, you naturally become stronger and it kind of goes hand in hand with Riku's darkness becoming a more powerful tool as he learns that the test isn't how things seem. In DDD, he wants to protect Sora and feels no restraints to using his darkness, even when his actual commands are restricted. However, in KH3, he has no actual restraints via command systems, but he's in the real world and is no longer defending Sora... so while he's free to not follow things by the book, he's also stopping himself from following his heart.
Thank you for saying that about Riku because you've given me a new batch of brainrot worms!!! Something something, he's free of the pressure of becoming Master and having to prove himself but something something, he won't follow his heart and use his darkness - which he is very much in control of - when he's no longer protecting Sora (and mayhaps given up on his dream of ever being with Sora) which something something, makes him weaker in turn and more restricted in fights.
Maybe I'm just looking way too deep into this, but I think the reason that BBS uses a command system instead of letting you freely use skills and magic because Masterhood requires you to discipline yourself and do things 'by the book'
And that's why in both BBS and DDD a command system is used, because the primary goals is to become a Master. You want to do things 'correctly' so that you can prove that you really understand how a Keyblade works.
(and also, funnily enough, the ones who seem to have the most freedom in this rigid system is Ven and Sora, who only want to be Masters by association of their friends)
And then in KH3, even though Sora was technically trying to be a Keyblade Master alongside Riku, he goes back to the normal action commands menu, because Sora never truly cared for being a master. But.... even then...
The game lets you play as Riku and Aqua, who have become Keyblade Masters, and the combat system doesn't change (and don't you dare stop me here and say, 'Andrew that's because it would be silly to change a combat system for two briefly playable characters' BECAUSE THAT'S NOT THE POINT). They've grown from the games where they achieved Masterhood and they realized the limitations of their teachers and of Mastery itself.
Aqua realized how fragile the balance truly is and Riku, time and time again, learned that doing things 'by the book' entails completely denying the darkness. Both of their struggles stem from darkness - Aqua rejecting it and Riku being unable to reject it. And they learn that the books were wrong: darkness can't be eliminated. They realize how their teachers have failed them, to an extent, and don't hold themselves to their exact teachings.
But, this is only a small example of breaking the toxic cycle their Masters taught them and RIKU IS STILL THE PRIMARY ONE TO LEAD THE CHANGE TO TRULY ACCEPTING BOTH LIGHT AND DARK (ROAD TO DAWN), AND OF COURSE, RIKU ONLY FINDS THE LIGHT BECAUSE OF SORA AND SORA ALSO HAS DARKNESS HE NEEDS TO ACCEPT, SO THEY'RE BOTH THE ONES TO LEAD THE CHANGE, SO THE COMMAND SYSTEM ACTUALLY PROVES SORIKU ENDGAME AND

so if kh3 is the kh1 parallel people say it is—we had sora and kairi separated at the end, and sora and riku were separated too. only the roles are reversed now. this time it’s riku who’s gone to look for sora
when sora went looking for riku in CoM, he did not meet the real riku in castle oblivion, but a clone of riku. while the real riku was underground in the basement floors of castle oblivion, dealing with his darkness, his actions, and his feelings.
so—who will riku meet, if not a clone yozora? and what will sora be doing, i wonder 👀👀👀
#ITS SORAS TURN#also lol why are there so many rikus#all the descent shit. all of it#sora and riku#soriku#riku game brainrot#riku thoughts#sora thoughts#me and my com obsession#i will gladly take a ‘rehash’ of the first half of the kh series if it means we get a roleswap#ROLESWAP AU TIME#will tag properly later#mostly just me asking questions and answering with my opinion lol#if sora and riku really get mirrored arcs —

…Okay but what if there was two Paopu scene in KH3? I’m being held at gunpoint by my Soriku brainrot so please bear with me.
The weirdest part about them is that they’re fully opposed, and that’s what makes me think the second one is a paopu scene.
We all know the first and famous Paopu scene;
And then the second Ill be mixing with is that one;
Now let’s explain.
In KH1, the drawing that Sora made, is painted like some wish of his. And in KH3, that wish finally came true.
Yet we all know how he reacted to it. For a wish that he seemed to have for a whole game, he looked surprised and really confused. As if, not that he didn’t want it anymore, but more like his intention changed since then. After all, approximately 2 years had passed since that drawing.
He did take the fruit in the end, but not before it was explained to him that it was just for the event that was to come. “That’s all.”
Please note that, in the scene, they each had their own Paopu, which resulted in two fruits.
Sora’s wish to share a Paopu wasn’t the only one in KH. There was also Riku’s. Remember that scene where he talk about the Poapu’s legend to Sora? He hands him one Paopu and tell him about the legend.
He adds a “I know you wanna try it” before leaving while laughing. Riku teasing Sora with the legend and about him wanting to try it because he know/thinks Sora has a crush on her means, that Riku see the legend as something romantic. But Sora doesn’t understand what his fiend is talking about and throw it.
How I see the meaning of this scene is Riku wanting to share a Paopu with Sora, but Sora doesn’t understand yet. What does he not understand yet? Pretty much Riku’s feeling and what are feeling on a whole. But he’s not aware that he doesn’t understand yet, he’ll become aware of that in KH3 as we all saw.
The following day, after Riku explicitly told him what that was, he teases him again with this time the winner being able to share a Paopu with her. (Iirc Sora canonically wins that race). And after that, during the food rations quest, we get the scene of Sora’s wish being drawn.
We’re now in DDD. Just after finishing the World of Fantasia, in which Sora and Riku both learned about Dearly Beloved, a symphony that their hearts created in resonance, we get to access The World That Never Was. And what de we unlock there? Nightmare’s end for Sora and Mirage Split for Riku. Or in other words, the gayblade combined keyblade.
I’ll talk about it more in details in an other post, but to me, the combined keyblade is the incarnation of Riku & Sora’s hearts reciprocating the wish of sharing a Paopu fruit; the wish of being tied to another and thus forever, hence the paopu keychain. After hearing what both of your hearts produce together, honestly who wouldn’t. But, once again, Sora isn’t fully conscious of it. His heart on the opposite, understood.
I wanna add something about DDD’s keyblade scene. Whenever they use it, one of them isn’t fully visible. Even if it’s supposed to be their holograms, I see this as being their hearts not sure of how the other feels. If the other reciprocate it or not. They still don’t know.
Now, back to KH3. After Riku triangle to Sora, the later arrives, all happy to be here, to see Riku, who by the way was literally exhausted before Sora arrived, but when he’s here it’s “Oh, I’m cool now”. Sora has absolutely no goddamn clues of what the hell is going on, and yet, without a word they both summon the combined keyblade, after literally just smiling to each other.
This is what I mean by sharing a paopu. They shared that Keyblade without being in Sora’s dream, “I’m not dreaming this time, right?”, they shared it in their reality, without having to say anything to each other. They understood each other.
Now, the opposite I was talking about.
For the scenery, it’s obvious for one is the day/end of the day, and the other is the middle of an endless night.
The spot is kind of an opposite if you include the “importance” it has. The paopu tree is of course an important to both of Sora and K, but it also is to Riku. They were never showed there only the two of them until the paopu scene. On the contrary, Sora & Riku were left alone in that same beach. They even said to each other that they were fine there, just the two of them, forever.
The most obvious opposite that gave me the initial hint is the fact that K had to explain herself to Sora. He didn’t understand right away. Yet, when it came to Riku, they literally just looked at each other, smiled, and did their thing. No words exchanged, nothing. They understood each other directly.
Second most obvious and most simple is the fact that K and Sora “shared” (more like “exchanged” now that I think about it) two paopu when Riku and Sora shared only one. And about that keychains I’ll do a post about it too cause there’s ton of stuff to say on it.
And yeah that’s it. Thanks for listening to something that sat in my draft for 3 months now because I never had the right idea of how to put it and kept writing it all over again😭
#this started has some joke in my mind but the I actually looked up everything and it threw me into one big hell of a brainrot#yeah I hope I could say everything I wanted to talk about#I’ll surely add stuff in the future#kh#soriku#kingdom hearts#riku#sora#kh3#paopu scene#two paopu scenes

sorry marly brainrot i love the horrid flower man
the downfall of "caring big brother" lauriam to "gaslight gatekeep girlboss" marluxia is fascinating to me
like you could chalk it up to "nomura didnt plan UX when CoM was made" but that is boring and doylist so i don't care for that explanation
i havent played or watched ux in a hot secone (like since the ux finale last year) so i may get details wrong but anyway
the most important thing here is that Lauriam is, to some degree, already fucked up. He's vry caring and soft for the people he wishes to protect (biggest example being Strelitzia), but also. He is So Goddamn Unhinged beneath the surface.
Like. Remember when he just went ballistic @ Maleficent and they fought so hard they trashed one of the pods. Or how he did Try To Fight Ven before the whole Darkness reveal (after which he went Big Bro Mode at Ven again which i WILL admit is cute)
Point being that when he blows up the explosion is huge and Soft Flower Boy will fight people to the death.
The Big Factors separating Lauriam and Marluxia are the whole Nobody Business and memory loss.
So the memory loss means "Would Kill For His Friends" Lauriam doesn't remember the bonds keeping him from going apeshit (Streli, Ven, literally all his friends) which is already a big blow to his moral compass. If I didn't have people and responsibilities to be moral for I probably also wouldn't
After that we got him Lacking A Heart, and like, we know Nobodies can get their hearts back, but the heart growing process hingess a lot on belief and bonds which Marly appears very uninterested in (outside of like, manipulating Sora with them in CoM).
No bonds and no feelings and no guidance. So then he ends up in the Org. It's obvious he Does Not Like the Org since he wanted to blow the whole thing up. Which I will blame on the distaste for authority of the union leaders, because that's funny.
It may seem like a big jump at first, but with those things? I can easily imagine how a guy like Lauriam, with a big disregard for collateral damage to achieve the goals he deems necessary, would end up like Marluxia. If anything, the lack of feelings removed his temper from the equation, which allowed him to plan more rationally than just punching whoever is in his way. Which is how we get Gaslight King Marly, The Flower Bitch™ Himself.
And this is just the jump to CoM, honestly. We do see some character development from the one-note villain in KH3. He's a tick more upfront, and his behaviour in the world of Rapunzel (not named for my sanity, thanks), shows a bit of his softer side. He talks big about the Real Org's goals, which rings hollow since he opposed the original Org, and there's a lot of hints that he geniuenly believes his actions will keep Rapunzel safe.
Initially, he wants her to stay with Gothel "so the Org can keep an eye on her easier", to protect her, and when it becomes obvious that Gothel has become the bigger threat to Rapunzel than the outside world, turns Gothel into a Heartless for Sora to dispose of.
He's also notably the least like.. confrontational? of the Real Org members in his world, opting to put Sora to sleep rather than fight him (though he does sicc Reapers on him at first, and then the Gothel Heartless, but that's still less than say, YMX, or Dark Riku).
The more underhanded tactics of his (putting Sora to sleep, taking the place of the goons in Rapunzel and knocking out Eugene) do match up with his manipulative tactics in CoM, however, just with sliiiiightly more benign motivations. A tad more Lauriam than Marluxia. But only a tad.
Honestly! I do love the Flower Bitch. He is, fundamentally, a bitch, though. And I curious to see how his character will develop from here, with the increased importance of X-Saga games what with the Foretelles probably being the new main antagonists.
Will he break down over what he's done now that he can experience guilt again? Will he extend understanding to his former self for the given circumstances? Is he just gonna stay a toxic bitch, just with Lauriam's big bro mode layered on top for the couple people he likes? I dunno, man.
I love a good corruption arc. Throw that man down a flight of stairs.
#Feli speaks#kingdom hearts#marluxia#i call him a bitch a lot in this because he is#soft flower boy lauriam WHO he'd snap a fucker in half if he felt he needs to#forever thinking abt lauriam going ham moments in ux. guy was already a lil fucked up

Riku’s hands. His fingertips are angled and a pale, translucent blue. Crystallised. Sora stares at them for a bit, until the realisation catches up with him, until it hits him with the force of a stone god falling on his head and Sora’s voice gives out on the first “No.”, until it breaks on the next one, the one after. “No. No no no no no. Riku.” Because for every inch that Sora is freed from, Riku’s body is slowly swallowed by the crystal. Sora starts to get the feeling in his legs back, riku’s black pants turn blue. Sora manages to move his hand and watches the light break through Riku’s palm.
