“stay there.” you said firmly, running your fingers through your dampened hair, shaking off a little powder that hadn’t yet melted.

you gave him a chance to reconsider his actions, but when he showed no signs of remorse, you settled for revenge. your sudden jolt forward made him flinch, and when he least expected it, you ran full speed ahead, tailing behind him as he stumbled through the snow.

“yn! yn! im sorry!” he exclaimed in a series of laughter and pleas. “i said im sorry!” he looked over his shoulder and saw you catching up. “you’re not sorry enough!” your tone was threatening. when he saw you cup your hands into the snow, he accepted his fate.

the sensation of the snow against his cheek made him shiver, so he buried his face into the collar of his coat in an attempt to warm up. “it’s cold!” he whined, waddling up to you and even trying to get inside your coat too.

he dropped his dramatic act when he got an idea. “hey we should make snow angels!” he jumped behind you to hug your back, craning his neck over your shoulder so you could see him. “don’t i look like an angel?” he teased, fluttering his eyes. “…don’t i?”

“riku, you are literally the embodiment of satan himself.”

dismissing your insult, he lowered to the ground and allowed himself to sink into the white, swiping his arms and legs side to side. shortly after, he was dusting his jeans off and taking a stand next to you.

“look.” he grinned, proudly observing his not-so-hard work. you pointed at his creation in horror. “ahh i think it has horns!” his smile quickly faded. “shut up, yn.”

K I threw together a translation for the new es21 anniversary chapter! There's probably mistakes and some awkward phrasing because I always end up prioritizing accuracy over flow rip. Hopefully the way I've formatted this isn't a total pain to read. I recommend looking at the page first, and then referring to the translation when you can't read something. Kaishin Reveal and What It Means For You

Okay I need everyone to keep their shit together because I think this is being blown out of proportion. What follows is a quick rant about what the hell is going in the DCMK fandom and what is going on in fandom in general cause I don’t know why I’m seeing so many people lose their shit over something that was most likely going to happen followed by a quick lesson by a ‘fandom elder’ on how to ignore canon and make a ship your own. 

Spoilers ahead and whatnot. 

April 11th the DCMK 27 movie came out and information was revealed about how Kaito Kuroba and Shinichi Kudou are now cousins. Twitter lost its mind, Tumblr lost its mind, Discord servers are being created and now everyone is wondering what the hell should they do. 

I’m going to be honest, if you are a creator for KaiShin, please don’t delete your work. 

Either archive it or orphan it but please don’t delete it.

You put time and effort into this, into something you love, and just because the mangaka is so SO set in his ways of every single ship being friends to lovers does not mean you have to follow the same format. This doesn’t make you an incest shipper or whatever, it doesn’t make you a person who you don’t want to be, it’s just something that you had no idea of knowing was going to happen and I hope that you can look back at it fondly. 

Anyways, for those enjoying Kaishin on the sidelines all I’m going to say is Pick a Lane. 

Ignore Canon 

If you are an old time shipper then this may not be new for you. I mean Gosho literally had another ship that turned out to be cousins like at this point it’s ‘who is my cousin’ being played in the entire Detective Conan manga. You either already guessed it, are an active incest shipper (hi, hello, tis a me) or you are used to your favourites dying. This situation is no fucking different. 

Wolfwood is dead, in my head he is alive and well and treating his Plant husband right. 

Sora is missing, not in my head where he is kissing Roxas and Riku and Kairi and whoever else wants to get at the sunshine of the KH universe. 

Ben is dead, NOT IN MY REYLO FANFICTION. 

If you are a person who actively kept up with the manga or actively kept up with the show it is possible to ignore canon because they do not suddenly go super deep into being cousins and knowing about each other. They both don’t know if they are cousins or else the jig would be up immediately and the manga would be finished. You CAN ignore canon and if Kaishin is a ship that brings you joy and just serotonin production I implore you guys to choose this lane if you still want to enjoy Kaishin. 

It’s by far the healthiest option and teaches you how to curate your own fandom experience. 

Alternate Universes and You 

I was in the Hannibal fandom for a while and I clearly remember the ‘Hannibal is not a Cannibal’ tag on AO3. I thought it was hilarious but I would never dare to make fun of it because that is a prime example of CURATING YOUR FANDOM EXPERIENCE.

Stepping Away

Your moral values are your own, people, and I am in no position or even want to judge them. If you feel uncomfortable about this now, see your love for Kaishin diminishing because of the reveal or just don’t see yourself shipping Kaishin in the future then you are more than capable of measuring your response and stepping away from the ship entirely for your own health. 

Is it going to be sad? Yes, but they are fictional and I recommend having an idea of what you have in your life outside of fandom that makes you happy that you can focus on as you go through this. College, work, whatever hobbies you may have taken up–hell put all your eggs into another ship that you know also brings you joy! 

Do not let this dictate your day or your month or your year. This is just fandom, you don’t have to make a big statement unless asked about it, you do not have to justify your decision to anybody, curate.your.fandom.experience. 

I’m going to end this with a repeat of what I just said. 

This is all fictional. We are playing in a fictional sandbox where we can all make whatever we want in any capacity and as long as it is tagged correctly then nobody’s lines have to be crossed. If you just started enjoying Kaishin, find out how you still want to enjoy it or step away. If you have shipped Kaishin for a while, do the same fucking thing! The east side of the fandom is having a field day with the movie, why can’t the west have some fun too?!

Echoing Sora's first line in the series "I've been having these weird thoughts lately" through his own side of the story, him saying that he doesn't look like how he appears, the 'why do you know that name,' the "save Sora" while immediately drawing a gun on the man in question?? I'm just... *screaming noises* They're bringing everything together with the fiction versus reality stuff they have going on, and guys, I get SO excited when some games go meta. I'm squealing like a little girl; I'm ecstatic. Despite Sora being in (what I now know as Quadratum) and the background of the Yozora fight reflecting that, I can't help but wonder if it was another internal fight due to the arena switching to Sora's Heart Station for a second, akin to Roxas' fight in KH2.

And the music was so pretty... Yozora has a gorgeous theme. The prettier the battle theme, the more insane the KH fight, I say.

Also Riku was dreaming of Sora for a year. Lmao. He just... didn't say anything about it, while everyone was busting their asses. I'll be honest, literally the only way I could take that is that he dismissed his dreams as irrelevant- ah yes, dreaming of Sora? Nothing crazy to see here. Oh, Riku.

Also more importantly than Riku's angst deal- KAIRI WAS LAUNCHED INTO SPACE WHEN SHE WAS A PRESCHOOLER TO ACT AS A KEYBLADE WIELDER HOMING DEVICE, JESUS CHRIST. Kairi 🤝 Megamind 🤝 potentially Superman (I'm not a comics guy):

Getting launched out of their home planets into space in order to escape the destruction of their worlds, given vague and confusing scenarios and instructions to adapt to once they find a new planet, but they really just wanna chill and be loved and keep people safe.

And she's gonna train with Aqua! :D Another professional at getting launched into other worlds (realms). I hope she bonds with Ventus, as I've recently been made aware of their similarities in disposition, and how they are treated by others (hearts of pure light, designated by their groups as "the one who should stay home/be protected", wavering self confidence in their own abilities and self worth). Additionally, the hilarious potential scenarios of Kairi being like "yeah, and my favorite color's actually-" and Ventus interrupts with "Purple. I know," because the man essentially vicariously lived Sora's childhood. I'm super stoked for future Kairi screentime! Loved when she saw Xehanort in her memories and was like 'I don't care if you're a memory, data, manifestation of my heart or any other thing- I hate you, get out of my life forever. Hugs and kisses, die.' Like, 10/10, girl. Fair. Kairi's a volcano wrapped in a sweet package ready to snap at someone.

Riku's like "Y'know Ansem, I'm gonna miss you... 🥺"

And Sora's like "Xemnas, stooop all the violence. How can you take advantage of people with hearts? You should feel your feelings. You're valid, bestie. ☺️"

Kairi's no bleeding heart for baddies, she just wants everyone to get off her damn case, lol!

Also LOL at the fairy godmother of all people being the one to ship Riku off to Quadratum after Sora. My Cinderiku jokes (as well as my previous KH3 post's blurb about Riku determinedly walking into the ocean to find Sora) may not be completely unwarranted, now. Like, Miss 'specialty in dreams?' Miss "If you'd lost all your faith, I couldn't be here. And here I am." Not even to mention "a dream is a wish your heart makes," a very relevant lyric for this set of circumstances, if I do say so myself. I guess that's just gonna be another song I love and sing to myself that now makes me think of KH. 🤷 There's worse things I suppose, for example, like Buddy Holly being stuck in my head for three days straight and making me feel like I'm trapped listening to my uncle's records (thanks, Good Omens).

I ended up re-watching "Cinderella" for the first time in a while because of that part of Re:Mind and MoM. The KH association of the part with Fairy Godmother's appearance is now semi-heartwrenching, given the context of her appearance in "Cinderella," as well:

You have the vocalizing chorus throughout the opening of the scene acting as a callback to Cinderella's "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" song as well as reflecting her inner thoughts, and she has a dialogue with it while she sobs alone in the garden:

Chorus: Whatever you wish for, you keep...

Cinderella: "Oh, no... no, it isn't true."

Chorus: Have faith in your dreams and someday... your rainbow will come smiling through!

Cinderella: "It's just no use. No use at all."

Chorus: No matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing...

Cinderella: "I can't believe! Not anymore..."

Chorus: The dream that you wish... *lyric trails off, unfinished*

Cinderella: "There's nothing left to believe in... nothing..."

[Fairy Godmother materializes next to her]

Beautiful scene, really. The chorus assisting the animation is delightful... I watched Bambi and Lady and the Tramp (Bella Notte <3) a lot growing up because I loved that old-timey choral work. So dreamy...

Additional funny/sweet bit: I like how Mickey was freaking out to the point of being pinned down over Riku being unceremoniously dropped into Quadratum via Fairy Godmother's spontaneity and enabling.

'You sent my son to the big city ALONE?! He could get mugged, he could get lost, he could get hate-crimed, he could-'

*jump cut to Riku, and he's trying to gauge the value of Earth Money by spying on hot dog stands. He sheds his first known tear of the series by trying to figure out public transit routes*

This was the next chapter for My Kingdom for A Heart. The fic never got any traction and I lost steam a long time ago.

“Alright, I’m picking the world this time.” Riku stated, stubbornly.

“Of course,” responded Sora, making sure Kairi was comfortable in her seat. “Where to?”

“Umm…” Riku paused for a minute, his hand hovering over the map. He was more concerned with getting to pick, he hadn’t expected Sora to agree so willingly. “Somewhere with a nice temperate climate.” He furrowed his brows. What’s that place with the dragons?”

“Uh, the Land of the Dragons?”

He snorted. “Yeah okay, sure.”

“No seriously! That’s what it’s called! The one with the Emperor you were rude to.”

Riku gave him a look. “You’re never going to drop that, are you?”

“Not a chance.” Sora snickered. “Well, I have friends there that we can ask and see if they know anything. None of the seven Princesses live here, though.”

Riku shrugged. “That’s okay, someone might know something anyway. It doesn’t hurt to ask.”

“Yeah!”

So Sora selected the world on the map, and they were off.

Disembarking from the ship, Riku sighed, content. “This is nice. Not exactly tropical, but mild all the same.”

Sora was looking around. “I don’t think we’re too far from the camp, let’s go.”

“Camp?”

“Yeah! The army training camp!”

“Your friends here are in the army?”

Sora answered as they started walking. “The captain of the guard and uh...well, I’m not sure what Mulan’s rank is, but it was up there. The emperor promoted her to his personal staff.”

“Well, if they are his staff, they probably wouldn’t be at the camp. Would they?”

“Well, it’s a start. I can’t imagine we’d be able to just walk into the palace anyway. Even though I am a hero of China.”

“I walked in.” Riku said easily.

“You probably portaled your way in, you big liar.”

Riku shrugged. “Something like that.”

When they reached the camp, they were suddenly surrounded by three men, one tall and skinny, one short and stocky, and one huge.

“Sora! Long time no see!” Said Ling.

“Hey guys!” He greeted with enthusiasm.

“Who’s the pretty boy?” Asked Yow.

“This is my friend, Riku.” Then he patted Kairi’s knees. “And this is Kairi. She doesn’t talk much.”

“Is she alright?” Asked Po.

“She will be.” Sora supplied. “Is Mulan around?”

Yow scoffed. “Nah, she and Captain Loveboat are up at the palace.”

“Told you.” Riku snickered.

Sora ignored him. “Loveboat?”

“Oh what? You haven’t heard? You live under a rock or somethin’?”

“Something like that.” Riku answered.

“Mulan and Captain Shang are engaged to be married. It’s a big deal.”

“It sure is!” Sora nearly shouted with excitement. “Good for them!”

“You can tell them yourself. We’ll take you to the palace...but you have to help us with a little problem here.”

“Little problem?”

Ling rolled his eyes. “Yeah, there’s this new trainee, thinks he’s all that and a box of pot stickers. Some son of a swordsman. Problem is, he actually is pretty good, so he thinks he doesn’t have to do what everyone else is doing.”

“Why not just kick him out?” Asked Riku.

“Because we’re low in numbers. Mulan and Sora defeated Shan-Yu, but that doesn’t mean the Huns are done. There’s camps all over the countryside that aren’t leaving anytime soon. We need as many abled-bodied men as we can get.”

“Oh,” said Sora, thinking, “then should Riku and I stay for a while?”

“Nah,” said Yao. “We need men, not boys.”

“Whatchu say?!”

Po interrupted, “you did your time let others have the honor to fight.”

Ling then continued, “but can you please put this kid in his place?”

Sora smiled. “Alright, just show me the way.”

On the other side of camp, Sora and company were led to a ring. Po took a seat on the ground, cross legged. “Come Riku, sit with me.”

“‘Kay. I’d love a front row seat to seeing Sora get his ass kicked.”

Sora set Kairi down beside him, making sure she was comfortable. She didn’t sit up well on the ground, so Riku placed his arm behind her, propping her up.

“Ah, Riku, it shall be I who does the kicking ass.” He stuck his tongue out. “Cheer for me, Kai?”

It's actually really funny cause we read this post like five minutes ago and were like "Lets turn on music" and Riku-dominant Fei brain was just like "no I dont want to listen to Ren, weve listened to that specific song so much Im kinda sick and over it" then put on bloodborne music and then I was like "bruh I want to actually listen to something good and with a story" and promptly went back to put on the previously mentioned song cause I'm still not over it.

It's kinda funny, for the most part we've been pretty much identifying today (and probably the last few days) as a singular whole with different dominant sides and part of the reason we did this was cause there was a barely conscious and audible

Like I can meme about how we basically did the same thing and claim myself as "Chunn" cause it wouldn't be wrong at all, but I didn't really switch I just put on a different hat. That hat just also makes me like some songs better than other

DID is weird because I find myself gathering shit on critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy 14 and then go "why tf am I doing this I hate this so much" and questioning all my life choices that led up to this point where I'm wasting my life away gathering and gathering and gathering materials with no end in sight and then switch to doing dungeons to level up my combat classes, 30 minutes later I'm like "actually I wanna go back to gathering I dont even know why I was running dungeons I'm not a fan of doing dungeons", then 15 minutes later going "god fucking dammit I'm doing it again I fucking hate gathering, back to dungeons" and then-

Like I know to anyone who doesn't know that we're a system this sounds like we just keep doing shit we don't enjoy doing in the game but it's definitely kinda amusing/annoying how we keep accidentally switching with each other when we're playing and are unable to just let whoever is fronting enjoy doing what they do lol.

Oh, and it's also funny how we might switch mid-raid and suddenly have to scramble to remember what all our buttons do while internally screaming trying to also not die to the boss.

In the past it was a LOT more frustrating though as we didn't realize why we'd be enjoying the game then all of a sudden go "I actually really hate doing this and I don't know why I keep doing this". Made it really easy to get mad at myself and then just drop whatever game I was playing, not because I wasn't having fun but because it was so confusing trying to understand why I kept doing things I didn't enjoy. I thought it was like, a weird need to minmax and thus doing stuff I hated just to eek out every little bit of experience/money/whatever, but that didn't explain why I would earnestly try to stop to try to enjoy the game however I wanted to only to keep going back to the same things that I hated doing over and over.

Anyways, it's kinda silly but knowing that I have DID and these other versions of me has really helped my frustration in this regard. And I know I'm talking about video games in this post, but this also reflects other aspects of my life, from friendships to work to even just grocery shopping. I'm now more accepting of these weird inconsistencies about myself and it's made understanding my life and my actions so much less confusing and frustrating.

[10:42 AM] Fantasy Character!Jeno meets Ex-machina!reader in the middle of nowhere. Seeing her just made Jeno scream at her, blaming her and her species for the cause they damaged during the Eternal Great War.

"People like you shouldn't have just existed! Your species should have died! How dare you guys ruin Imanity!"

Out of guilt, you only spoke but you didn't look at him, just so that you couldn't feel more guilty.

"Jeno, Im not like those people. They have not made me exist. Please just forgive the whole race. We all didn't want Disboard and Imanity this way, did we?"

Jeno could only leave you there, feeling angry while you left yourself there, to burn along with the ashes that were scattered on the ground.

"Jeno, Im sorry and I love you."

That was the last thing you said before you closed your eyes.

Soriku - ATLA short fic idea

(This was supposed to be a short blurb kind of thing but spiralled☔️)

Riku’s an arrogant water bender from the northern water tribe. Like a big fish in a small pond, He thinks he can conquer the world with ice bending alone.

He sneaks out of the frozen fortress in the northern settlement, trying to prove his greatness in the outside world -

- But quickly gets captured the moment he steps foot in the Earth kingdom.

Turns out water benders are pretty rare in the south and hot commodities for bending smugglers.

Riku’s been gagged and stuffed in the back of a wagon for what feels like weeks now. His ego and pride have been shattered, all of his attempts to escape have failed. He has no idea where he is or where he’s being transported to.

Just when he’s about to give up hope entirely, a crash occurs and the wagon is overturned!

He can make out the sounds of a fight - his smugglers versus an unknown party. Riku tries not to feel too hopeful, but maybe someone’s come to save him!

Or not,

He could hear his ‘saviours’ demanding the smugglers hand over their bounty. Riku, still panicked, took slight satisfaction in that it seemed the smugglers were being raided by bandits.

He couldn’t tell which side had won the fight but the noise eventually quietened down, and Riku began to feel dread.

Someone had entered the wagon.

‘Hey! There’s a person in here!’

Riku was pulled into the light, still bound and blindfolded.

Someone reached down and removed his blindfold.

Riku opened his eyes and looked up -

‘Hi, I’m sora!’

A beautiful boy surrounded by the strangest granulated dirt he’s ever seen. It morphed around sora like a shield.

One’s a skilled sand-bending bandit, a sweet boy despite his questionable company, the other’s a sheltered water bender with a giant (now bruised) ego.

Riku sees sand for the first time, sora sees snow for the first time.

They’re opposites, they’re obsessed with each other.

Utsukushii Kare Retrospective Blurb

Although we're worlds apart I'd cross the stars for you In the heart of a sleepless moon I'll be with you forever

What a friggin series. Like well done.

I had gotten a bit bored and mostly just unimpressed with the BLs I had been watching then along came Utsukushii Kare

I love strong characterization and really leaning into those archetypes 

I love how much both Hira and Kiyoi both had such low self-esteem that it made them both dumbasses wrt their feelings

a haunting sense of yearning and longing for connection

the scoring was top notch

I want so much more of this world and these characters and this music

poor Koyama, he did his best

also this was Yusei’s first role, phenomenal

it’s very hard for me to understand how anyone could not see Kiyoi’s interest and ultimately desire for Hira
