What would happen if Joffrey executed both Ned and Sansa?
I mean…a small riot happens? but maybe not? things definitely get more tense between the north and the iron throne that’s for damn sure. There’s not a reason to execute Sansa - she cooperated, she tried to help Cersei, and she’s eleven, and Ned specifically confessed to keep Sansa safe. If Joffrey says “all traitors and traitor’s blood must die” and then has eleven year old Sansa’s head lopped off in front of a crowd, i do imagine this is gonna ruffle some feathers.
There’s a few flashpoints here - the actual execution, Robb’s reaction to it, and Tywin’s reaction to Robb. Take the execution first.
there’s not a lot Ned can do in this situation but if Joffrey is stupid enough to say he’s going to kill them both, Ned is not going to willingly walk to his death. He’s gonna start screaming that Joffrey is a bastard born of incest, or he’s going to insist that Sansa is innocent and he never told anyone of his treason, but either way he’s gonna get the crowd riled up and start acting up to get Joffrey to change his mind, and let us remember how recent it was that a stark father pleaded for the life of his child and a stark child pleaded for the life of their father In This Very King’s Landing. If this becomes A Whole Big(ger) Scene, that’s bad. If Joffrey kills Ned and THEN says “actually bring Sansa up here too” - and doesn’t Sansa pass out at some point after Ned is killed?? - what does he do here? Has her woken up so he can kill her? has her executed while she’s passed out or heaving and sobbing and saying she never betrayed him and she loves him? I don’t think Joffrey has enough reason to execute her, and if Ned, Sansa, or both are yelling and pleading as they’re held down and executed, it’s gonna give a lot of people flashbacks. He can do it, of course, but I do think there will be some hesitancy, maybe some arguing, and probably some loudly expressed opinions. and meanwhile Arya is watching all of this happen with Yoren. What is KL going to even look like after this? by the time Tyrion gets there, what’s happened without Sansa there? Dontos is dead. Littlefinger has to go back to fixating on Catelyn. Joffrey has started sexually abusing random maids and ladies because he has had no Sansa outlet for his temper. They can’t hold onto staff because Joffrey put Sansa’s head on a spike and won’t take it down and it’s freaking people out. Cersei and Joffrey keep having knock out fights in public over what to do about Jaime. Joffrey is devolving much faster here, and Jaime’s life hangs in the balance.
Then there’s Robb’s reaction to whatever the hell happens in this scenario. He has just captured Jaime, and remember Cersei was nervous about Joffrey killing Ned bc Robb might kill Jaime in reprisal. If Joffrey executes Sansa? I think without Sansa as a hostage, Robb gets more reckless on the whole. I don’t think he’ll do anything stupid - nor would the lords at Riverrun agree to anything they thought was stupid - but Rickard Karstark and Edmure Tully as well as several other lords, are pushing for Jaime to be killed. He’s not fighting to save anyone at the capital anymore; this has strictly become a rebellion. I’m sure the Lannisters would try to lie about having Arya but Robb has Jaime, he has Riverrun, he has the North, he has everything to lose, and the Lannisters have no bargaining chip. Even if you assume battles and tactics stay completely the same, would Catelyn release Jaime in this scenario, if she knows Sansa is dead, and they have zero proof Arya is alive and zero explanation for her disappearance? I think it’s more likely she’s either continuing to work as an envoy, praying she’ll get word of Arya from someone if only she keeps asking and searching, or somehow in contact with Tyrion, trying to get more information on what may have happened. It’s possible she still gets herself in trouble, but is she going to just randomly set Jaime free? No, not without proof Arya is alive. Robb could choose to use Jaime in his terms - acknowledge me as King in the North and of the Trident, get your people out of the Riverlands, agree to these borders, and I’ll give you Jaime back - or give into the anger of the people around him and send Cleos Frey back to KL with Jaime’s head and a note that says fuck you and your family. Even if Stannis and Renly are still acting dumb (likely), and Catelyn comes back with Brienne and a wild story, does Robb just send her back out as an envoy to someone else? I mean potential shadow baby assassins notwithstanding, Jaime’s presence at Riverrun (or death to lord over everyone) is useful for Robb here.
(I keep dancing around Arya because - is Yoren unable to stop her from straight up storming the execution, if Sansa gets brought out? In the commotion of whatever scene is happening, does Arya get lost? Get caught? Get hurt? Are there more guards out looking for her because she’s the only chance Cersei has of trading for Jaime now? Can she even get out of KL? Is Yoren more desperate to hand her off quickly now that he’s seen Sansa get executed? Lots of factors here!)
Then there’s Tywin’s reaction to Robb. Jaime may or may not have been executed but he’s certainly in a much more perilous situation. Even with Roose helping to sabotage shit (would Roose decide this is the time to enter his villain era or would he figure joffrey is too much of a risk, and bide his time a bit more??), even if Robb still sends Theon with the exact same deal, at the exact same time, and that happens the exact same way, Tywin has to take into account that Jaime is a hostage in Riverrun when he gets to king’s landing to scheme the red wedding up, OR he gets to King’s Landing ready to scheme the wedding up and devices something 100x more brutal because Robb killed Jaime. Lannister dynamics are WILDLY different here with Jaime not coming back with Brienne, too!!
Uh anyways the point is I think most everything in Westeros is affected by this.
My opinion is that KL becomes much more stressful to live in, because Joffrey has to crack down on the population, because they didn’t appreciate him killing Sansa, and also Cersei is hysterically angry with him, Tyrion has a much harder time getting control of the city back, the Tyrells are much more nervous about negotiations with Littlefinger in Bitterbridge, and Catelyn does not set Jaime free, which puts both the Iron Throne and the North/Riverlands in a weird ass position.
#from there it’s hard to predict.#asks#anons#i think keeping jaime alive is smarter but would the lords go for it. if joff killed sansa i’m not sure the tyrells are open to lf.#more likely mace sits on his hands at bitterbridge maybe even rebuffs tywin when he comes to talk to.#but idk i think robb sends theon with wild terms like ‘do u want the crownlands’ & balon might not care but maybe asha would.#doran ignores tyrion’s calls once they get myrcella.#but the thing is. everything could technically go the same. the tyrells were already planning to off joffrey. the north could still#botch the strategy in the riverlands. jaime would be much more heavily guarded. sibel spicer could be in contact with him directly?#but….idk i just don’t think robb makes the same ultimate decisions in the beginning which changes the whole thing.#i think arya is emotionally wrecked by this. losing cat & robb really breaks her. i think if she lost ned AND sansa#right out the gate it would really hurt her. this is a scenario that makes me most sad for arya.#once again life is hardest on the best sisters to ever do it 😭

Heard your call. So let's chat!
So, I've been kinda writing something about my playthrough, Orin has kidnapped Lae'zel and my Tav comes to camp in a rage looking for Lae'zel. Astarion tried to calm her down but then she lashes out at him. He feels rejected af and lashes out too, then she leaves with the rest of the party looking for Lae'zel in Baldur's Gate. Then of course they don't find her at the end of the day and back to camp both my Tav and Astarion need to have "the talk".
And I've been wondering what would be Astarion's feelings on this? Would he be mad because he was yelled at when all he tried to do was to help her out? Would he be sulking because he thinks he did something wrong and fears she is gonna leave him? Or both?
I've been analyzing this out but I'm at a loss here. What do you think?
Hello friend!! Thank you for coming over for a chat!
I've been thinking about this too some time before and I was so far too anxious to write a situation like this.
I think it really depends on different factors: I think his temper would really flare up for a while, he tends to have angry outbursts - we know that. But he also cares about Tav and when you start the dialogue to break up with him (like, who would do that but thanks for the people doing it for science) he immediately asks if he's done something wrong.
Then we also know he tends to deflect his real feelings with mean jokes or lewd comments.
Now if you came back still angry he might even not come talk to you for a while because 1) nah, not going to get yelled at again and 2) he just went through this cycle of emotions and knows you should calm down first. It might be too that he's actually scared to initiate to talk about this.
In fact, in every scenario Tav would have to be the one to address this to work it through or Astarion will just brush it off and swallow it down (obviously for worse and not better).
So I can definitely imagine that when Tav finally comes over he starts by throwing them an offhand comment and almost makes Tav snap at him again. But Tav takes a deep breath and apologises, tells him that they're sorry they snapped at him, that they didn't mean to hurt them.
Because I can imagine Tav is very vulnerable in this situation because their friend has been taken and they're desperate and exhausted. Maybe they even start crying in between because now they feel like they not only failed Lae'zel but now Astarion too.
And I would think Astarion sees that in that moment because he's really started caring for Tav and comforts them and accepts their apology and might also apologise for his own lashing out. They talk about it. Astarion might not be ready to confess his constant fear of just doing something small wrong and Tav leaving him for that but he'll work on that.
Giving them both an opportunity to learn that you make mistakes and that that's okay as long as you make it right after with reflecting on it and speaking your feelings.
So there you go - this is what I would personally imagine. Hope this helps (and also sorry lol, I can't be short with these kinds of things).

Hello luv <3
I just saw the song that you dedicated to your friend that is no longer with us. A beautiful song, my mum and dad love it. But what's also beautiful is that you remember her even now. It's real friendship <3
If you could tell Anja a few things now that she's gone, what would you tell her? What are some things that you should've told her but maybe you never did because you thought there's plenty of time ahead? Some places you'd like to show her? Some things you'd love to do with her? What is something that she told you or that she did that sticked with you and you still remember it? And something of hers that now that she's not here anymore, it brings tears to your eyes?
So many questions, I know, but I'm sensitive to the topic. I lost my best friend to suicide, and as much as I hate making assumptions, I feel like Anja did the same thing. Consciously or subconsciously, and I am so terribly sorry for that. I am asking you the same questions that I'd love to answer about my friend, beautiful questions, but I cannot do so, because the circumstances of her death remain unknown, so maybe connecting with you who maybe are going through the same thing might help, even if anonymously.
<3
Hello, dear 💜
I literally thought upon seeing this ask in notifications that you were about to fill me in on The Beach Boys song, but that I didn't expect at all. It wasn't a dedication, more like a immediate recall of her, because she loved "The Piper at The Gates of Dawn" and "The Gnome" was one of the songs she recommended me to listen to - Syd was the main writer of it, he was her favourite, of course she recommended me his song. If it comes to dedicating, I did that with a whole fic, because she helped me a ton with how to make it work and she enjoyed teasing me about Uncle Ernie.
Oh, I won't ever forget her. She was my bestie, no way I will show her out of my memory.
So many questions, oh God. Wait, let me answer them one by one.
If you could tell Anja a few things now that she's gone, what would you tell her?
I would definitely thank her for the year we've spend, it was a blast really. I wished for a friend who I could talk with each day and she appeared in my DMs a month later. Then I would call her an idiot for drinking this much while she already had a close call with death a few months ago, double the idiot because she fell into drug addiction - ya really can't do anything through text, not with an addict. And then I would probably tell her what happened after her death but I would rather focus on the good stuff. I would definitely tell her about the fic, heck, I'm sure she was reading it behind my back when I was writing it!
What are some things that you should've told her but maybe you never did because you thought there's plenty of time ahead?
I told her everything I wanted. Hah, I even warned her that if she keeps living like she did, she will end like Keith Moon. Ya know? I HATE being right.
Some places you'd like to show her?
Definitely Poland and the place I live in. She loved Poland and our culture. I even was sending her photos of my place almost each day. Didn't send one because she deleted her account.
Some things you'd love to do with her?
Hang out, visit her, listen to music together, probably get drunk together - I'm not drinking, but she said she would make me - be stupid, dance, laugh, tease each other etc etc etc.
What is something that she told you or that she did that sticked with you and you still remember it?
I remember a lot of things. From the evenings we were chatting and being stupid, when I was supporting her, when we both teased each, wrote fics and scenarios for each other. One thing that stuck out happened a few weeks before she disappeared from tumblr. She thanked me for being her friend, telling me that she never had such a friend. Only later did I realise it was her goodbye. It still hurts.
And something of hers that now that she's not here anymore, it brings tears to your eyes?
It's not a thing I can hold, it's the general feeling of missing her. You know, when you feel that empty part inside you that someone is not here. It's something like that.
The only things I have from her are the fanfics she wrote and I have them saved all on my pc. Will never delete them.
I'm very sorry for your loss, but I think Anja didn't commit suicide. She took too many pills that had to help her get out of her addictions and she was found dead in her bed *looks at Keith on my pfp* I hate being right, fuck, I hate it so fucking much.
You don't know what happened to your friend? Christ, this is even worse, having a friend who disappears one day and never comes back, I'm so sorry *offers a big hug*

Ok tell me about your ocs right now
-fuckitwebhaal
I was thinking really hard about who to talk about because I HAVE SO MANY but I decided on my two main Baldur's Gate characters so RAAAA
First is Zenith the Silver aka The Dark Urge
Zenith is 42 years old and kind of pissed about it cus his knees are starting to hurt. When he was adopted into his family he was given the name Zenith and after the whole killing your family cus the urges manifested thing he stopped using the name. Eventually when he moved into the city proper and knew he would need a name that wouldn't set off any red flags for people he went back to it.
He's a dual wielder fighter/rogue. He's incredibly efficient and doesn't care about right or wrong, nice or mean, he'll put on the mask that he needs when the situation requires it. He will gaslight the hell out of you and you know what that's okay. Very calculating, very quiet most of the time but when he does speak it's LOUD. So he tends to be a man of few words. His favorite animals are hyenas, he likes to read since that's how he learns to adapt to different situations (basically absorbing scenarios and playing them out since he doesn't get a lot of actual living interactions), and he has a very strong sense of smell. Incredibly insightful always people watching, looking at the subtleties
And now Santino! A Cleric of Talos
Santino is a 54 year old mortal son of a cambion. He was raised by his cambion father and was named Santino as a joke. An infernal son named "Saint" raised by a devil. He was born because his mother was cursed with never-ending pain, she made a deal to that once she gave birth to a son she would be free from said pain. She died immediately after his birth. He was raised in like a basement demi-plane and when he was 13 he got kicked out and was told to go help bring people to make deals with. He was basically an unofficial warlock but his dad fucking hates him so he barely got anything out of it.
Santino was sick of it so he ran away instead and went to school. He sucked at it. He did eventually meet a girl at that school who he eventually married. They wanted to move to Waterdeep so she could continue her studies as an alchemist but on the way over there it was storming like crazy and the visibility was shit so they got ambushed by bandits. The bandits ended up killing Santino's wife while he was pinned under the cart. He begged his father to come help but he didn't show up and so instead he turned to the Stormlord Talos to give him the strength to imbue him with his fury and let him avenge his wife. And so he did. So he turned from the infernal to the divine and became a tempest cleric.
He's also ridiculously insane and completely unpredictable. This guy was my first Tav and he's been with me since Early Access. He's like chaos incarnate and i do love him.
Yes they are both evil, yes i can talk about them WAY more. I just love them so much

Larissa Weems x Reader
AN: This was for an ask on my previous account. Hasn’t been proofread, forgive me for poor writing, I just started.
Summary: Larissa and Y/N have been parent trapped.
“I cannot comprehend how you think that it’s okay to encourage this behavior!”
“They’re kids, Larissa! They’re supposed to have fun and make mistakes. They’re supposed to figure things out on their own sometimes!”
“Y/N, you knowingly let them leave school grounds after I /specifically/ told everyone they were not allowed to.”
“I didn’t encourage them. I told them it was a poor idea, but they went ahead with it anyway.”
“You are the adult! You are the one in charge, not them! I just- I can’t even look at you right now. Please, leave my office.”
“Rissa, you cannot be serious.”
“Out. Now.”
The students had a feeling that what they’d done had gotten you in trouble with Principal Weems. Ears against the door of her office, they all crouched around to eavesdrop in on the conversation. Enid was the first to bounce back from the door after hearing your footsteps grow closer. Scattering, they tried to play it cool and not make it noticeable that they had heard everything. “You guys are terrible at eavesdropping,” with a sad half smirk, you turned on your feet, and headed down the hall.
You knew that there was a decent chance that Larissa would find out that you had turned a blind eye when the kids left that night, but you didn’t think she would be this upset. She’s been stressed lately with the recent influx in attention directed at Nevermore, not that all of it has been necessarily negative either. You figured letting Enid, Wednesday, and Xavier go out and explore the normie town at night would be fine. What you didn’t anticipate is that they’d take Eugene and Ajax too, or that they’d drag a reluctant Bianca along, as well.
With six students disobeying direct orders given by Larissa, and a teacher who knowingly looked away, you knew you were in deep shit. What really put the nail in the coffin was the fact that Sheriff Galpin had escorted the students back to Nevermore after finding them trespassing, himself. To their surprise, Galpin didn’t think them “exploring” was a valid reason to be crossing the gate to pilgrim world grounds.
The stern scolding you got from Larissa that night was one you certainly won’t forget. You’ve never heard her raise her voice so loud and look at you the way she did that night. You tried talking to her again today, but it got you nowhere and she ended up asking you to leave her office.
It’s been a week and she still hasn’t paid mind to you. It was starting to affect your mood more than you’d like to admit. And, whether she knew it or not, it was doing the same to her. Both too stubborn to talk and apologize, Eugene had proposed the idea of trapping you two and forcing you to talk to each other. It took some convincing, but eventually everyone was on board. Even Wednesday, who thought this was all blown out of proportion.
It took a couple afternoons to plan and set everything up, but eventually everything was ready.
“Okay, Xavier and Ajax, you two are gonna go make sure that the area stays clear and ready to lock them in,” pointing at each person as she goes over the plan, “ Enid, you’re going to go find Miss Y/L/N and tell her Principal Weems urgently needs her help, and Wednesday, you’re going to get Weems and tell her that Miss Y/L/ N is hurt and needs her in her study,” nearly done, Bianca looks over at Eugene,”Hive man, you and I are going to keep an eye and make sure everything is going smoothly. Worst case scenario, I’ll politely remove my amulet and get them to cooperate,” with a shinning smile, proud of herself, Bianca set off in the direction of your study.
“Miss Y/L/N! Miss! Principal Weems has asked for you to meet her in your study. She says it’s urgent!,” frantically grabbing your attention, Enid rushed to pull you towards the door. Immediately concerned, you sped behind her.
“What’s wrong? Is she alright? Is everything okay?” you were worried something has happened and that there was a chance it was your fault.
“Principal Weems, you’re needed in Miss Y/L/N’s study,” with the same expression she always holds, Wednesday barely got Larissa’s attention. “Not now, Miss Addams. I’m busy,” barely looking up from her paper work. “Who then do you suggest I go find to patch up Miss Y/L/N’s injuries?” Barely coming out as a question, it still most certainly grabbed Larissa’s attention. “Injuries?! Is she alright? What happened?” Eyes snapping up to Wednesday, Weems shot up out of her chair and she raced to the door of her office, ushering Wednesday with her.
Both Bianca and Eugene seeing that the two women were on their way to the study, they alerted Ajax and Xavier to be ready at both entrances.
Both of the doors flying open at nearly the same time, the women couldn’t reach each other quick enough. “Rissa, you okay? What’s wrong? Let me help,” with pleading eyes, you were ready to comfort or assist her in any way. “What- are you okay? Where are you hurt, Sweetheart? Show me, please,” Larissa scanned every inch of you that she could, checking for injuries. Each of you silent for a moment, searching for something in the others eyes. You were suddenly pulled back to real life when you both heard each of the doors being shut and locked.
“Children! What is the meaning of this?” Larissa pulled back and moved towards the door she came through. You, a little stunned with how close you two were, did the same. Simultaneously yanking on the door knobs and telling the students to let you two out “this instant!”as Principal Weems would say. Giving up on the door, you turn towards one of the windows in the study. “So, you’re okay, Rissa?” Looking at her once more as you fiddle with the latch on the window. “Yes, I’m okay. Are you quite alright?” Subtly examining you again, she decides to do the same and try the opposite window. You silently cursed yourself for showing the kids how to rig latches. There was really no need for it but they finished their lessons early and there was nothing else to really do. “Yeah, I’m okay too. It’s no use, Rissa. They rigged the latches,” looking back at her, defeated. She kept trying the latch anyway until looking up with a puzzled expression, “How would the students know how to rig a window lock?” Sucking your teeth and looking around the room, knowing damn well you’re the reason, “I haven’t got a clue, Weems.” Shooting a knowing look at you she smirked.
Still being stubborn, you both sat in there for the next 45 minutes. “I just don’t understand! Why would they purposely trap us in here. It’s preposterous,” her signature thinking expression showing. Silence enveloping the room, you decide to bite the bullet and apologize. “I’m sorry, Larissa,” looking down fiddling with your hands, “it was wrong of me to not stop the kids that night. I just want them to make their choices, learn from their mistakes, and grow to trust their judgement. I went about it the wrong way. I’m sorry,” looking up at her with those last words just to make sure she knows it’s sincere. Before you could continue apologizing, she spoke up, “I’m sorry, too. I may have over reacted,” gazing out the window before looking back at you, “trying to keep Nevermore in good light recently has certainly taken its toll. But, this past week, not having you occasionally barge into my office and keep me company, I’m afraid I was miserable.”
Neither of you spoke for a moment, still processing what the other said. She noticed a large grin forming on your face and immediately knew that she wouldn’t live this down. She missed you and she knew it, and now so did you. Laughter bubbling out of your throat, “oh. my. god. Larissa Weems, you missed me! You loooooove me,” poking fun at her. The kids hiding out besides the window we’re all giddy that their plan worked, even Wednesday in her own way.
“You’re right. I do,” gulping as she folded her hands and stalled for your reaction. “I think I have for a while, but I tried to ignore it. Write it off as some measly confusion on my part. But, I do.”
Your face dropped, you knew you had feelings for her, but you didn’t think there was even a chance she’d feel the same. You’d flirt, she’d flirt back, but still you thought it wasn’t anything more than platonic banter.
“Are you joking, Larissa? Please, don’t play with me like that,” pleading eyes staring into her. “I understand you don’t feel the same but I simply couldn’t bare the weight of keeping that a secret, any longer,” you’ve only ever seen Larissa so vulnerable a few times. This was something else, entirely. She was being genuine and you knew it. “I hope this won’t make things difficult with work. I do apologize-“ you cut her off, utterly appalled that she’d assume that you couldn’t feel the same. “Rissa, I have loved you from the first moment I saw you. I walked in and immediately, your presence was all I cared for. I couldn’t fathom the idea of you reciprocating any feelings, simply because I thought you deserved more than what I am. More than what I can give.”
Once again, searching for something in each others eyes. She grabbed your hand and opened her mouth to speak again. “YAY AH,” the immediate recognizable voice of Miss Sinclair echoed through the study. Wednesday and the rest of the gang followed closely. “Took you two long enough,” Wednesday rolled her eyes.
“You do know that you’re all in big trouble, correct?” Wide eyed, they all stared as Principal Weems then over to you, “Don’t look at me! You guys are the ones who trapped us in here!”
Looking at each other, seemingly conversing with no words, you two knew you couldn’t stay mad at the kids. “Go, we will discuss this later,” you told them with a subtle wink to let them know you’ve got them and not go worry. Quickly they scrambled out of the study and back to the quad. You felt completely giddy. It was like two awkward teenagers smiling and adoring each other. “You know…if they hadn’t tricked us, we wouldn’t know how we both felt. Maybe we can take it easy on them?” Your infamous cheeky smile overtook your features and Larissa couldn’t resist. “Maybe so. It’d help me decide whether or not for sure, if some one were to kiss me right now,” panning around the room with a smirk, she knew that the kids would be let off the hook pretty quickly.

Speaking of ideas. There's one thing I still don't get about that explanation from a BTS for that scene from Wild Blue Yonder. Because inactual future timelines can actually affect the past, even in such a way as to prevent themselves, right? There's canon precedent — Seasons of Fear (Big Finish audio thing), Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS, even the Valeyard depending on your theory. I'll accept everyone's memory retroactively changing, since the Web of Time is self-healing, and one time almost self-healed Evelyn Smythe out of existence, so that's not a problem — and people sometimes being able to remember inactual timelines also has (inconsistent) precedent, as per Name of the Doctor/JttCotT again, Amy Pond's whole thing, and the story The End with Valarie Lockwood. The question is — where did the Doctor and Donna from the actual 'mavity' timeline go? So far I've only found two explanations that I'm satisfied with. One is that they created and retroactively merged into the 'gravity' timeline — symmetrically to the pair we followed throughout the episode. Or it was a similar, but longer and more complicated loop The other option is that the 'mavity' timeline is stable — that Donna jokes about 'the mavity of the situation' and Newton just remembers her correctly — in that case there's already a whole timeline merge happening in that scene. The minor problem of the TARDIS not insulating the travellers from the timeline change as it usually does (Out of Time - The Gates of Hell, probably a bunch of other stories which I can't remember right now where characters return to find a wrong future/present and retroactively fix it) I'll just chalk up to the malfunction. That's fine, it does that :)
i try not to think too hard about time travel loops bc it starts to make my head hurt bc a lot of it boils down to a bootstrap paradox and that’s an argument that will never really be solved re: egg or chicken.
in this scenario tho i imagine it’s such a small change that the timelines just kinda merged at parallel like you mentioned. the doctor seems to remember it being gravity before so he is aware of the two timelines (he’s a time lord, i would hope he is).
idk overall time travel IS weird
as for the tardis not protecting donna from the timeline change like that…well. she was kinda on fire so i’ll forgive her.

Okay, so what if Ingo was taken first, disappeared alone like in canon, let's say from the subway tunnels. It's been a few years since then, but Emmet is adamant that he's still alive somewhere. Vivi and Lewis are depot agents themselves, but Vivi in particular is stricken by how her boss just vanished on her watch, and she loves figuring out mysteries, so periodically she, Lewis, and Arthur (+ Mystery, who is her ace pokemon) will go into the tunnels to look for clues that might have gone overlooked.
Then one time they're searching and a rift like the kind that took Ingo opens up near them, which allows Arthur to get possessed (love the idea that he's Volo's descendant, that honestly makes the most sense given the context), so when Vivi and Lewis go to get a closer look, possessed!Arthur pushes Lewis in, then goes to push Vivi in which is when Mystery bites his arm off, but he unbalances her enough that she falls in anyway and Mystery jumps after her. They end up in different places because they all entered at different times and Lewis gets a much harsher landing which ends up killing him. I wanna say they all lose the majority of their memories, but just like Ingo still remembers a few things, Lewis remembers the backstabbing wretch who killed him even though he loses a bit of the circumstances surrounding it, and he *hates* him. In order for Vivi to get the arc phone and quest line, maybe Arceus spotted her as she was falling because she's the descendant to the hero, and they gave her both the those and a soft landing near people who would take her in.
For Mystery, there are a few routes he could take, but there are some problems with each. First is that he could just be a ninetales who is constantly casting an illusion to make himself look like a vulpix... for some reason... or he could be some legendary we haven't seen yet or an ultra beast, which does have a small form that looks kind of like a weird vulpix so everyone just assumes he's a vulpix variant.
Does Lewis illusion himself to look like his human body most of the time? I don't see many people trusting him or what he says if he looks like Zoroark, but if he just goes around everywhere looking like he did when he was alive, then they'd be more likely to believe him that, whoever this Arthur dude is, he's bad news. It'd also mean they had no basis for a good Zoroark, so when they see Emmet, who is mistaken to be a Zoroark, it adds to this "Arthur is evil" narrative that Lewis has been feeding them. Which sucks for them!
The good news is that if they're taking the train, they're probably not going to be losing any of their pokemon, so Emmet gets to keep his massively overpowered team. I think it'd be funny if Arthur was a depot agent who didn't actually work on the battle trains, just the regular commuter ones, so he has like, the one joltik Galaham and that's it. It's not even high leveled, it's just his little pet. Let's hope they don't get separated or Arthur is gonna be really screwed, especially considering he's still recovering.
I was picturing Arthur driving as like, a worst case scenario where Emmet was either knocked out somehow or just what *Emmet* imagines will happen if for some reason he didn't go with him. It's part of why he goes with Arthur, because if he doesn't Arthur's probably gonna end up killing himself right out the gate via a literal train wreck. Emmet still goes careening down the mountain a bit, to the tune of Arthur screaming, but it's a much more controlled crash so neither of them actually end up hurt. Emmet is very much carrying this team, but in Arthur's defense he's incredibly sleep deprived, terrified, in pain, down an arm, and hopped up on pain killers that are only sort of working. Without Emmet he's an easy kill for pretty much anything in Hisui, since he wouldn't even be able to dodge right.
Oh, whoops, just saw that other ask on this! I like both the angst of Arthur being possessed and pushing them in, and the angst of Arthur trying to save Lewis (I assume Vivi and Mystery already fell through somehow, maybe they were directly above it when it opened and had no time to grab onto anything) and the rift literally severing his arm as it closed, which in turn dropped Lewis. The first would be a case of either he doesn't remember being possessed like in msa canon or he does sort of remember but is freaked out because what the hell happened and why did he do that and will it happen again. Plus, it opens up a potential storyline where Volo manages to get giratina to possess him again in Hisui and use him like a puppet. Dunno what he'd do that for, but it could be interesting. The second would be a case of some sweet, sweet survivor's guilt. Arthur's manic drive to get to Hisui would then be fueled solely by his desperation see if they're still alive and appease the guilt of "failing" them, whereas in the possessed version he has a little bit different motives. In the version where he doesn't remember what he did, he's driven mostly by his need to know what happened and to rescue them, kinda like how he's searching for any leads on what happened to Lewis and where he is in canon, and in the version where he does remember what he did he'd still want to go because he's terrified that he murdered them, but there's an underlying worry that he might not be safe around them anymore (which is also why he's relieved Emmet chose to go with them - if he becomes compromised then Emmet is more than capable of taking him down).
(Sorry for the length!)
vivi and lewis being depot agents is interesting... tbh i was just imagining them being locals who happen to frequent the subway (bc vivi has aspirations of being champion and so wants to hone her battling abilities). also i can't imagine lewis not working at his family's restaurant lmao. and mystery being her ace is interesting! i DEFINITELY think he should be some kind of legendary that takes the disguised form of a vulpix/ninetales (i think ive talked abt some hypothetical version of this before?) and i would also like to propose that he's ice/ghost type to match with vivi's two specialties—ice from family tradition, ghost bc Ghosts.
REGARDLESS the idea that ingo disappeared first and then the second rift happened while the ghost hunting squad was investigating his disapperance—that's very fun. i like that. you can also spin it like arthur is intermittently possessed and caused both of them, unbeknownst to everyone else (and himself)
lewis i think is maintaining a human illusion most of the time, but it's also not really a secret that he's a zoroark bc like. he Floats. it would be a pretty shitty secret. plus he's constantly talking about his murderer which does not help his case of being an alive human. probably his first human contact is ingo, who's much less instantly fearful of zoroark, and then ingo introduced other people to him and/or spread the word of warning around. actually re: emmet being mistaken for a zoroark, wouldn't be so fucked up if, if they "know" (believe) that arthur has killed and zorua-ified at least one person, they automatically assume that emmet's just another victim
see i WAS thinking that arthur isn't even like, a depot agent in the sense that he works the floor (? do you call it the floor in a train station? you know what i mean. the Public Facing part.) he's like, a maintenance worker. he DEFINITELY doesn't battle anyone bc he hates confrontation. galahad is level 4. so ghsksjshjh Yeah he is definitely hiding behind his boss if they need to battle
i mean. tbf arthur's probably not like, fresh out of the hospital, building the engine took a while and his leave was probably pretty extended on account of losing a whole arm/suddenly having a prosthetic (depending on whether he has that or not in this au) takes some getting used to and he probably wouldn't be able to do much at work in the interim anyway. but by the same token, recovery would have taken a While and he definitely wouldn't have waited until he was healed, are you crazy, that's wasted time, and also not ruling out being injured/generally fucked up by the post-rift-travel crash, so yeah kshkjshkjsh. look, he got them here, he's tapped out now. emmet take over.
YEAH... ooh him getting possessed in hisui is a very fun plotline. i wonder if it could be both somehow? like, i really like the idea of him being volo's descendant and giratina possessed, but i also really like the version of events where he tries and fails to catch them and that's what severs his arm. maybe bc he's so far away from hisui/sinnoh, the link connecting him to the distortion world is very faint, so the possession can only be very brief (but can still, obviously, be very destructive if timed right, and also probably leaves a big cloud of haziness/missing memories around it. though the memory loss could also easily be attributed to all the blood loss) so he WAS a conduit for the power being channeled, but then the link was broken and he rushed in to save them? or is that too convoluted, idk.
#the nemesis speaks#the nemesis answers#anonymous#msaxpla#something where his branch of the family moved away from sinnoh Specifically to snap the distortion link#but artie's extra sensitive or something idk

ㅤThat last little flame of defensive anger snuffed out at his words, dampening whatever retort Addi might have thrown back. These kinds of back-and-forths were not uncommon, but they were usually out of a place of jest, light-hearted and not meant to sting. Any other time she would have laughed, suggested the perfect place or thanked him with full sarcasm, but the words faded before she even thought of them. In her mind, her sour attitude was justified, though she was becoming unsure.
ㅤHad she gone alone, ( and survived ) , this whole mess would have been kept behind sealed lips, any injury waved away with her usual excuses of 'gravitationally challenged'. Of course she would bring it up weeks, even months, from then when all sense of punishment would be useless, equating the encounter like she ran across an ornery lizard. But she wasn't alone, and that guilt took up the space left behind from her anger. It would have been a pretty big screw up to get the son of the clan chief hurt, or in the worst case scenario - she didn't want to think about it. Was she really expected to casually accept praise after that?
ㅤShe opted to remain quiet for the rest of the journey back, only offering a word of thanks upon their return. The hiss of the airlock doors closing behind her finally put something between them besides awkward silence. Funny how they had bickered over her preference of RDA buildings when she herself had to return to one, whether she wanted to or not.
ㅤIt just made sense.
ㅤWhat didn't make sense, to others at least, was the change in her attitude over the next few days. She seemed all together allergic to anything that was a typical good time, if it made her smile, she wanted nothing to do with it.
ㅤNeedless to say, those inside their human community found out what had happened. The questions came, the stern talking happened, and suddenly it was old news. Others even tried offering their own near - death experiences ( such as nearly falling into a pitcher plant ), but that wasn't what bogged her down. She hadn't filled them in on what had followed.
ㅤIt was like the repeat button of her brain was stuck down. The whole scenario would play from start to finish, skip around, repeat conversations, and interject new sentences that could have changed the outcome. A recent series came in the form of Alternative Endings, which only brought even more gloom and guilt and, strangest of all, lingering embarrassment.
ㅤHow difficult would it be to avoid one specific person for the rest of her life? Not impossible, right?
ㅤAddi had been doing good so far and she was only on day four. Though, she was risking it as she had been unceremoniously dragged out of Hell's Gate ( for the first time in those four days ) to join the others at the longhouse outside. Lanterns cast a warm glow as did the small cooking fires outside, and violin music filled the space between conversations courtesy of her own father. She had taken up a small space beside some low crates, using the surface of one to hold her game of Solitaire as she was deemed supervisor to some of the kids playing around.
neteyam nodded, still stiff and still tense, but no less sincere with his reasoning. addi didn't seem to approve and that familiar tug of irritation bit at him. did she think he was lying? trying to placate her? or did she truly think so little of herself and her actions that she failed to see them for what they were? did she need him to spell it out for her? ❝ it did do something, ❞ neteyam said, ❝ it distracted the txumre and gave me the opening i needed to make a killing shot, ❞
neteyam watched her take her few short steps only to stop and face him, that strange look on her face again. one he couldn't read clearly and her words did little to help explain it. it seemed the more they spoke, the more time they spent together, the less he understood about her. strong heart, yes, but also a rock hard head that refused to accept even the slightest word of encouragement or pride.
❝ why are you saying these things? ❞ neteyam asked sharply, ❝ i ask you to explain yourself, you refuse. i tell you you did well, you throw it back at me. ❞ there was no common ground, no equal footing, she seemed content to disregard and dismiss his every effort. it was her right, she was not obligated to accept his praise, nor was she obligated to sooth his irritation, yet it still hurt.
❝ we'll find a nice rda outpost for you to be laid to rest in, since you like them so much, ❞ neteyam said to her back tartly. he followed behind her but left a fair distance between them.
#sayitan#sayitan | 04#here just take my crinkled 11 draft before i'm here by the time the fifth movie comes out#i don't know if you want a time skip but i put one in just in caaaase? otherwise i guess they can just stay mad at each other

Iwaizumi:
He was physically crushing you
Did you care? Not at all
This was Hajime, a soon to be athletic trainer, someone who seemed intimidating with his muscles and overall beefiness
But here he was
Here was your hajime that melted anytime you called him cute or any other cutesy, mushy gushy nickname
He was a puddle in your arms and he didn’t care what he looked like - as long as no one else besides you or the dog saw
Even your guys’ dog was the same as him — an intimidating Rottweiler, muscular, growl so low that would make those that didn’t sit right with him, scurry far far away
His name was Zilla, short for Godzilla named by Hajime yet he was such a puppy whenever you were around, his tail wagging like crazy as he nuzzled his snout against your legs, whining whenever you went away for even just a few minutes, waiting by the door until you returned home from wherever
Yep, they were two peas in a pod
And as Hajime laid on you, Zilla laid beside you on the bedroom floor, the two of them fast asleep
Your legs tangled beneath the sheets on the gloomy day outside as rain trickled down from the clouds, tapping the windows and rooftops all throughout the city
You brushed your fingers through his hair, slowly scratching the base of his scalp as he snored lightly into your shoulder, his cheek squished against you, making his lips all pouty
No matter what angle you saw him in whenever he slept on you, you could never bring yourself to make the smile on your face falter
For someone who looked so beefy, you never knew they could look so soft at the same time yet here he was
Whenever you moved just the slightest bit, readjusting the blankets or pillows, he woke just the slightest, lifting his head off of you until you were ready and patted his head down against your body again
You held him closer, squishing him into your arms even if it didn’t feel like much to him
a slight, sleepy smile spread on his lips, his face showing he was in true bliss while he slept on you
Domestic:
The fire crackled in the fireplace behind the iron gate while you sat on the couch on the ground beside the coffee table and Zilla at your feet, fast asleep while your fingers rapidly typing away at your laptop, finding the recipe you needed so you could make some agedashi tofu, a favorite of Hajime’s
Your little girl crawled about around the couches, staring out the windows seeing the tufts of snowflakes fall onto the snow covered ground, already a couple inches high
She was so small yet she saw so much of the world, it felt like she could fit the world and the universe in those eyes
You made sure to keep her away from the fireplace, not letting her get too close, steering her away, giving her one of her favorite toys, or to even hold her in your lap while you watched numerous videos of others making the tofu
though after about an hour or so, as the snowflakes only got bigger, she no longer had any interest for the things floating silently to the ground as she crawled down the hall, the baby gates keeping her from falling down the stairs or bumping into the taller dining room table
“D/N?” you looked up, finding your little girl’s legs disappearing into the room where Hajime slept soundly, his snores kind of echoing louder into the hall now that the door was cracked wider
she let out such a pure sounding giggle as her wide eyes fell upon her sleeping father as he laid flat on the futon fast asleep
she crawled faster, her little hands making little thumping noises against the plush covers he slept under as she crawled and climbed onto his sleeping body
until she finally did it
she had successfully made her way to the top of his chest, laid right on him, a smile of wonder spreading over her chubby cheeks as she slowly rose and fell as Hajime breathed
Hajime was still undisturbed as he slept, catching up on the hours of sleep he had missed, practically unbothered by the slightly extra weight added onto him by his little girl
that was until she made her way toward her sleepy father, reaching her little hand to his chin, doing her best to grab him, though it would be quite some time before she could properly hold his face
she continuously patted his chin until he woke
it took a moment as his eyed adjusted to the sight of his baby girl, a chuckle escaping his chest as he smiled, his eyes drawing into lines
“Hi, mochi,” his voice raspy from sleep as she cooed, her smile contagious, cheeks so chubby, Hajime just wanted to bite them
like mochi
she adorable tilted her head side to side, shying away from the loving eyes of her papa as he tickled her, poking her puffy cheeks with his finger, getting her to easily fill the room with her giggles every time he did it
“Wanna sleep with papa?” he hummed as he sleepily looked to her, a yawn escaping him as he reached his head up to peck a kiss to her face before he turned to his side, laying his little girl beside him, beneath the warm covers of his futon
“nap time, moch,” he chuckled to himself as the two of them stared at each other before he gently blew a raspberry into her cheek
her cheeks were just too irresistible to him
gif from @rivaillerose 💛
Sakusa:
His footsteps sounded through the bathroom as you stood, brushing your teeth, your hair still damp from your shower, the mirrors steamy
Kiyoomi stood behind you, his figure towering through the foggy mirror
His movements faltered before he gave in, snaking his hands from behind you, around you, letting his chest melt to your back
“You smell good,” he said but subtly sounded bubbly as he buried his face into your shoulder, bending his back to a “C” shape so he could match your height
You only smiled through the mirror as he began to sway side to side slowly while you brushed your teeth, finishing
“I did just shower, Omi,” you smiled up to your curly haired husband
The two of you paused in place as you looked up to him, adoring his features as he did the same to you, something neither of you could never get over - the fact that you two had each other
“Mmhm,” he cuddled himself even closer like a kitten when you were fresh out the shower
Your skin and body was so warm, so fresh and clean and he could hold you without letting any of his fears interfering
He stood beside you, just standing awkwardly with you in the bathroom before he followed you out to the bedroom
The two of you got into bed but before you could really settle, you were suddenly pulled into his embrace, his arms wrapping around you, his body curving to match against yours
“Aren’t you cuddly tonight,” you murmured as you turned your head back to the best of your abilities turning so you could face him
“I’m tired,” he matched your volume in the darkness
“Sleepsies,” you brushed your fingers through his hair, getting a relaxing sigh from him as he hummed in agreement
“Sleepsies,” his voice barely audible
“Goodnight,” you smiled into his chest
He held you close to him, a scenario your high school self could have imagined with the Sakusa Kiyoomi
Omg was always distant, known to be quite handsome yet no one ever had a chance with him
So many others thought he would never be with him, that no one would be good enough for him but he was a great volleyball player
And now you were a Sakusa too
Domestic:
The sun kept him warm as he laid beneath the open blinded windows as the summer rays cast down into the living room, right onto Omi as he laid on his back, his arm draped over his eyes now that he got to relax
The house had been cleaned through his monthly sanitization day
The past few days were making his skin itch but now - it was all okay
Birds chirped in the neighborhood, outside in the distance, it was a beautiful day
The house was oddly silent as he laid on the couch, his chest slowly rising and falling
But before he could fall asleep, let his energy recharge, just before he drifted off, the smallest sounding steps approached the couch and then stopped right beside him
Omi slowly lifted his arm, turning his head to take a peek at what could be happening but he had an inkling of who it could be
And he was right
He saw his little girl, her teddy in hand as she stood beside the couch, her chin just able to reach the couch cushion
Her beady eyes looked up to him, cheeks round, her lips almost in a pout as she stood looking up to him to the best that she could, the sun shining into her eyes
“What is it, pum?” He lifted his hand, blocking the sun from hurting her eyes
His little girl was observant, kept to herself, speaking up when asked or when she didn’t like something or if something didn’t go her way
She was just like him
She blinked looking up to him before she raised her arms, her teddy in her hand waiting patently to be lifted
“You wanna nap with me?” a smile cracked onto his lips
and all she did was nod
“Mmhm,” he complied as he sat himself up, scooping his little girl, pushing out a yawn as he laid back down as D/N made herself comfortable on top of him before cuddling close into his side in between him and the couch
she hugged her teddy close in her arms while Sakusa laid sort of on his side, turned toward her at a slight angle
from the perspective of anyone else if they entered the living room, they would only see Kiyoomi’s back, and only stepping closer would they see his little girl cuddled close, the two of them fast asleep together in the summer sun as it shined in through the window

Hello, this is the same person who ask for a scenario where jean found out her s/o is a fatui harbringer. I would like to continue the story if that's okay? Basically after some time have pass s/o were attacked by the other harbringers because the tsarista replace s/o with a new harbringer. S/o fend off the harbringers and fled and stay in the abyss where they would meet the traveler while exploring the abyss s/o would talk to the traveler and the traveler tell jean and jean would investigate and meet s/o
I hope I understood what you mean-
Part 1
Traveler telling Jean about her Ex-S/O Ex-Harbinger's fate
Reader here is gender neutral
Traveler here is gender neutral
Turns out not only Jean was betrayed. You were a fool for thinking you cannot be easily discarded by the fatui. Even if you were a harbinger.
Your little attack made a lot of problems, and even the Tsaritsa agreed that you should be stripped from your position and replaced with someone more suitable.
And with that you also had to escape death itself. They couldn't just let you go after all.
You managed to lose them all. It was a miracle indeed... You didn't expect Tartaglia out of everyone to hesitate before striking you down. His inexperience with a bow really showed when he missed so terribly... Good thing that you were alone- since you could only imagine what would happen to him if anyone else saw it.
But now you had nowhere to go.
You got rather far as you traveled for days, reaching Sumeru and then you saw an entrance portal. But it wasn't any regular portal, you recognized the portal that could lead you to only one place.
The Abyss. Perhaps if you joined the traveler's sibling's cause you could get something out of it...
As you approached the portal you met a familiar face...
The last thing you expected to see was the honorary knight. Although it made sense for them to be there.
As you bearly escaped from your former colleagues you were deeply injured, although time had passed- you still were hurt (especially since you were so restless). They didn't care for your injuries- but they didn't fight you either.
They wanted to know what you were doing here. Although they were certain that even in this state you'd spew nothing but lies.
You told them the truth, and they left you alone. They had more important matters at hand.
You entered the abyss only after you recovered from fatigue from your travel.
By that time, the traveler had left already... Well, more thrown out than left on their own.
And the portal took them back to Mondstadt. Needless to say they were tired.
As they entered the city, they just wanted to rest for a while. When paimon spotted Jean, she told her about seeing you by abyss' entrance.
She was surprised to hear of you again. And hearing of your fate did make her feel pity towards you... But nothing else.
She hadn't forgotten how you made her feel. Or what you had said when you left.
When she was talking to paimon, you didn't make it to the traveler's sibling before a lector had noticed you. Since you were weakened you couldn't put much of a fight and neither could you buy yourself some time to explain yourself. Right now you weren't far from Mondstadt's gates.
And your terrible luck had it that a knight had noticed you, so before you knew it- you were dragged to the city. Although Mondstadt and Shneznaya no longer are on friendly terms, some diplomats did see you being dragged around, and they started whispering among themselves.
You were actually lucky that they brought you to Jean, because anyone else would definitely not be even half as polite.
When you saw her you felt sudden regret. Although you didn't feel anything for her back then, it felt bad to remember that day.
"You don't need to explain yourself, paimon and the traveler explained everything to me... Unless of course- you lied to them"
Although you were imprisoned for your crimes, Jean swore to not allow anyone to get their hands on you. Since the harbingers will look for you, and I don't need to say what will happen once they do find you.

i remember...
synopsis: there is only so far that emotions of the past can be hidden and denied. after ayato asked you to open up, your initial reaction always remained the same. until now. getting the things you thought you wanted can actually mean suffering sometimes.
part iv of my short ayato series called ‘reinvention’ word count: 1.2k
A week has already passed since your exchange with Ayato. Time is both a blessing and a curse in the way that it never stops. He had asked you, under that tree and under those fireworks, to open yourself up more; he practically begged you but you did not say anything.
Sometimes the best course of action in dealing with inner turmoil is silence. The silence comes naturally, the cold shoulder felt right in the moment after you got up and started walking away. No further words were exchanged on the way back and Ayato let you have your peace by walking a step and a half behind. So careful, so calculating – like he knew what you needed in that moment.
When you walked through the gate into the estate, you rushed to your room and Ayato stood there in the corridor whispering good night to no one. He begged for his voice to carry over, he begged for you to have understanding; but it seemed futile. That night was Ayato’s last resort and since then; things changed.
The days changed.
He did not greet you good morning or good night, the meals you two participated in together were cut short and happened less often. Ayato was avoiding you just like you were avoiding him. There was a certain edge to his voice when he would lie to his servants that he had an urgent matter to take care of so he would not be at dinner. There was a certain flickering gaze as the two of you crossed paths. It really shouldn’t have hurt you, but somehow it did.
Your relationship with Thoma and Ayaka did not change; you still did the same things and spent the same amount of time together. Except now, both of them were reluctant with mentioning Ayato’s name and it only slipped out in recalling stories. That shouldn’t have hurt you either, but it did.
Your friends inside the estate did not change, the sleepy Shuumatsuban girl was still frequently on your tree – you knew Ayato tasked her with keeping you safe in the worst-case scenario. The other servants did not treat you differently either.
So why? Why did it hurt in such a way to lose parts of Ayato? Is this not what you wanted? You were able to tell yourself that until you had to walk past his door. It was always closed now and you knew you were the cause.
There was something screaming at you in the back of your brain. And, for a week now, you’ve tried different things to distract you. Cooking with Thoma, going on walks with Ayaka, deciding to visit different stores: to their own credit, these things worked for a little while.
Maybe your mistake was deciding to read this day? Maybe that was the butterfly effect that caused your fingers to pick up the ink and write Ayato a letter in the middle of the day. Some elders would scold you for the way the letters started to look but the urgency of the moment was the focus.
‘The real importance, the thing that matters the most, is making our inner lives known to each other.’ It could have been that quote, paired up with the pain of seeing the doors closed every day, that caused you to slip an envelope under his door and run away.
Some people rush and some people wait. When Ayato saw an envelope slide under his door; he was sure he could have waited lifetimes if it meant the same result. Perhaps gods heard his prayers and answered them? Perhaps you were ready to be honest with him now? Those thoughts were the positive ones in his mind but his hand rushed to grab the letter. What if you were running away? What if gods decided to punish him some more?
He did not have time to sit down, Ayato leaned against his desk and started to read. The sun dripped onto the letter, it reminded him of your first meeting but from the first word, he could see that your hands were rushing.
“You once said that you might never learn about the man you remind me of, does this letter come as a win? Is there a point in keeping score? I answered you, I said that you should stop looking for the scars he left but consciously or unconsciously, I am never sure how much information you have thanks to your spies, – you still managed to awoke them. Maybe you consider this a win as well? His mind was hard to grasp and yours seems to be the same way.
Regardless of what you consider it to be – my hands are moving on their own and your wish is about to come true.
I suppose you should know him by name first: Kaeya Alberich. With your knowledge I am sure you already know he does not hail from my homeland. To me, he was all lightning made of ice and while that caused me to fall in love; it caused those around me fear. He is not good enough, they said. People love him now but what about later? What about your future?
Back then, I had a tendency not to listen and it worked out in my favour. I would say he loved me too. Despite what others were saying; I would say we were happy, too. I cannot say he was unkind to me. I cannot say he failed me more than once.
He was kind, when I confessed my feelings during the Windblume celebration under small fireworks, he took them wholeheartedly in the palm of his hand and then he held them like he held me. His eyes were gems. I will forever believe that the moonlight makes lovers’ eyes shine differently.
He was my freedom. You might say it is a paradox to find freedom in a person but I am telling the truth. I thought him a hero.
When it started to get serious, the elders of my family ignored it and they plotted to send me here instead. There is no way I could love a man if we were separated by nations and oceans, they thought. There is no way I could love a man if I was going to another. That is why I asked him to run away with me.
Under the hero’s tree, I asked him for that holy thing. Running away was the best option. We were smart enough to have no issues with that decision, smart enough to leave and still live happily. I was prepared for it. And I thought he was too but..
His charming words told me no. They cut deep. He refused to run away with me. To me, it meant that he refused my love. He knew that I would not run away alone after that and he knew I would be sent to Inazuma – but he still said no.
I would love nothing more than to say that it does not hurt, but I can’t. I would love nothing more than to say that maybe the best thing I ever did was running away from him, but can this even be called by that name?
Now you know the full story.
I remember it all and I am not sure I will ever forget.”
a/n: we are really in it now besties. i would like to call this chapter my pride and prejudice era.
next; part five here

Eleventh of The Fatui Harbingers, Childe, who’s always eager for a challenge. This man holds his ground for being one of the most dangerous member of Snezhnaya’s Darker Side. Though in your eyes? He was your father, the man who always appears with a beaming smile along with his presence that is as warm as the sun.
Out of all the boys, this man is well versed when it comes to taking care of children. After all, it’s a second nature he developed being part of a big family.
With you, everyone doubts that he is a velvet sheath that houses an ostensibly ornamental blade whose unpredictability puts people on edge. Well, you are his child. No father would ever want their kin to see the darkside of their being.
He dotes you a lot, always ready to give you all the sweet pecks and hugs. Whenever you giggle out loud and grin happily, his heart melts into a puddle and he can’t help but just give you more and more.
However, although he is your father, he is still Childe- the Eleventh Of The Fatui Harbingers. He is bound by duty to serve his Lady Tsaritsa. He is a warrior who dedicates his faith to her. So he has to leave you behind with his siblings.
It aches him to the core, he wants to spend time with you- But he needs to go. Truth be told, Childe is always itching to have everything finished. He ends duties as fast as he could just so he can come home and spend his time with you more.
His return is always extravagant, a ship loaded with all sorts of toys and clothes- It’s all for you. It’s one of his ways to compensate for the seconds he wasnt able to spend with you. One time, he even bought a playhouse that was the size of an ordinary house except it was decorated like that of a duke’s palace.
You think that’s all? I beg to differ, in fact, our dear Childe hasn’t even started with you yet!
He’ll spoil you with affection, showering your small body with so much fatherly love. Childe will also let you watch him cook your favourite meal (Bonus dessert too since he loves you so very much!)
“Daddy? What is it like in Liyue?” You tip your head as your father softly bounced you on his lap “Uncle Teucer said that the waters there dont freeze! Is it true?”
“Mhm, the climate there is very warm unlike here in Snezhnaya” Childe replies with a smile.
“What else is in there, daddy? Is there a flower garden there like the bedtime stories you tell me? Is there-is there a big green field too where little animals hop hop on?” Your eyes beamed so much curiousity it made the ginger chuckle in delight.
“Yup, there’s a lot of flowers scattered around in Liyue.”
“Take me there next time, please? Please! Pretty please, daddy? Wont you please?” You start whining.
“Mm, after daddy finishes work I’ll take you there, alright?” Childe storkes your head with his wam hand.
“Awe...” You pouted.”But your work is always piling every second! It’s like bricks, it keeps going up and up and up!”
“Pfft, well I am after all working for the biggest toy company! Daddy needs to make sure everything is perfect!”
“Even Santa Claus doesnt work that much! Daddy is being mean...” You frown while the ginger man laughs at your comment. “Oh I know! How about I eat lots and lots of veggies then daddy will take me to Liyue? Please Daddy? Pleasee!!!”
“Oh dear..” He shakes his head. “Now I remember that time where your uncle Teucer first learned to bargain”
“Please daddy?” You put on your most adorable puppy eyes to add pressure on him.
“Alright, alright” He chuckled and you cheered, jumping on his face and peppering it with chase pecks on his cheek.
Childe’s heart felt so warm, he felt so relived to have you- his precious child, in his arms and peppering him with you tiny and soft pecks. This moment with you was so pure he forgot his hands are that of a warriors, that he is stained with darkness. It doesnt really matter, you dont need to know that side of him. He’s scared of you hating him, he’s scared of you losing your trust and admiration for him. Your loveforhim means the world to him. So please, just stay like this knowing only this him, stay clueless about that part of him stained by battle.

Alright, first of all- No doubt, you will be highly respected and loved in Monstadt since you are the precious child of the charming Chivalry Captain, Kaeya Alberich.
Since he is a knight, he is aware of the possible dangers that might/will come at your way so expect him to be highly protective (But not in a very obvious way ofc).
Sadly, he is a chivalry captain- There are times where he has to leave you to Amber, Lisa or Diluc (especially Diluc). It pains his heart though, time flies so fast and he is scared that he might one day come home to see you all grown up. No parent would want that, Kaeya is no exception.
Though, if you suprise him while he is on duty in guarding the gates- He’ll be more than very happy to have a little knight accompanying him. Kaeya will be even be amused since his ‘work’ wont be that awfully boring anymore.
When it comes to affection- Oh boy. He peppers your face with kisses, snuggles you in every second he can and whispers one of the most adorable things in your small ear. He sometimes teases you too with how tin you are, he cant help it really- You’re just so fragile and you barely even reach pass his knees. Kaeya also spoils you a lot. You want that aodrable little slime pillow? You’ll have all the elemental versions! It doesnt hurt to spend a little more after all. I mean come on, he spends money on drinking fancy wine, why not use that cash on spoiling you instead?
He’s also the type that’s lets you ride on his shoulders, maybe he’ll jog a bit so you can feel like you’re really flying.
Being a captain, he surely has times where he is strict on diciplining (But not strict-strict to the point it’s scary. Nope!) He’ll smile warmly and cooe you into obeying the rules. His rules aren’t really painful, it’s all very basic in fact. “ Ah, ah, ah, what did Daddy say about after eating?” “Y/n, it’s already time for night-night. You wouldn’t want the bad hilichurls to get you, do you now?”
Overall, he’s a very loving father who supports his child in every way he could. You are after all, the small warm flame that melts the icy cryo captain’s heart.
“Daddy! Daddy! Look!” You run over to your father who was boredly staring off into the distance. “Daddy!”
“Oh?” Kaeya smiles warmly, leaning down to your level and picking you up off of the ground. “What would my baby want to show?”
“I-I made Daddy a pretty flower crown! Auntie Amber showed me how to do it!” You stretch out your small arms to show him the Calla Lily flower crown you wholeheartedly made for him. “It’s pretty right? Right?”
“Mhm, it’s very pretty.” Kaeya chuckled lightly.
“Daddy I want to put it on your head! Pretty, pretty please?” Your eyes twinkled innocently, pleading with the most adorable look.
“How can I say no when my little angel when you’remaking that face?” He smiled, lifting you up above his head.
You gently fixed the flowr crown on his head and giggled in absolute delight as you saw your Father’s face with the crown atop his head.
“Daddy looks so handsome!” You clap cutely, making his heart melt even more.
Kaeya couldn’t resist it and he started to nuzzle your cheeks together.
He wanted to tease you a bit more, but this time,... He didnt feel like it. Kaeya just wanted to hold you as close as he possibly can. if he can freezetime, he will. He doesnt want this moments to end and just become a memory of the past you. He wanted to hold you as much as he can right now.
"Wait! Daddy we need to go to uncle Diluc too!" You blurt out.
"Why?" He blinked.
"I made a flower crown for Uncle too!"
"Hold on a second, I'm calling someone to cover for my shift."
Should I feel bad for Diluc now cuz he is about to get bullied by the Alberich Family

Southern Generation - Part III *Mature*
Summary: Sy and Lily had a harmonious bubble around them, but ripples are sent through it, with an action of Lily’s and the past haunting Austin.
Pairing: Captain Syverson/Reader
Word Count: 6,211
Warning: M - Language, Fluff, Domestic Kink, PTSD, Attempted Overdose, Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Teeny White Lie, Stalking and Harassment
Inspiration: It’s Sy, need I say more?
Author’s Note: Loving this story! Much love to @wondersofdreaming!
Lily laughed as she played tug-a-war with Aika in the living room, the sound of Sy putting up the last of the siding vibrated throughout the house, with her laughs and Aika's playful growling. The hammering stopped and Sy appeared through the front door, smiling at the two partners in crime.
“I need to go into town.” Sy told Lily, when her attention settled onto him. “The saw blade has dulled and I need to replace it.” He explained to her.
“All right.” She nodded, letting Aika take her rope. “I need to get lunch going.”
“I shouldn't be too long.” He promised, then left.
Sy wasn't gone a minute, when the phone rang in the kitchen and Lily moved to pick it up, before she missed it. “Hello?” She answered, pressing the receiver to her ear with her shoulder and turned towards the refrigerator. “Hello?” She frowned, pulling out food items for her and Sy's lunch.
“How's the business going?” A voice finally answered her.
Lily froze, hand resting on the loaf of bread she was reaching for. “How did you get this number?” She gulped, her heart racing and pounding in her ears.
“I bet once that caveman finishes fixing up the place, it'll look brand new.”
“Ho-” She gasped, a dizzying wave of nausea punched her in the gut, as reality set in.
“Soon, Lily. Soon.” The voice chuckled, then the line went dead.
The phone slipped off of Lily's shoulder and clattered to the floor, alerting Aika, who was chewing on her rope in the living room, and came running in, barking in inquiry and suspicion, standing close to Lily's feet and looked up at her, head cocked to the side. Lily gripped the edge of the counter in front of her, trying to take deep breaths in and out, but her vision swam with an overflow of tears and her chest felt like an elephant was standing on it. She turned and stumbled up the staircase in the kitchen that led upstairs, and went into the hall bathroom, locking herself inside, Aika bounding after her and barking at the bathroom door.
“How? How is this possible?” She trembled, pacing the small space. “I was so careful, so careful. It’s not possible. It’s just a sick joke, from some disgruntled customer. But, what if it isn’t? What if it’s really. Where did I go wrong? I put so many miles between us.”
Her hands shook and she struggled to breath, furious tears streaming down her flushed cheeks. Flashback after flashback rippling through her horrified and panicked mind, her stomach lurched and she dropped to her knees, wrenching violently into the bowl and losing her breakfast into it. She sat there for a long time, before making up her mind, standing up and opening the medicine cabinet, removing a prescription bottle from inside and popped the top off of it. She knew this was a drastic and dark turn to things as she dumped the bottle into her hand, but it wasn’t as dark and ominous, if the voice on the other end of the phone kept their word about finding her, and Lily wasn’t going to take that chance.
She gulped down dozens of the teeny pills, swallowing them down with sink water, then slowly sank down to the floor.
Sy returned twenty minutes later, with a new saw blade and rumbling stomach. He expected, as always, to find Lily had set his lunch down on the table in the breakfast nook, and was either eating hers as well, or she was patiently waiting for him, so they could eat together.
Instead, he entered the house and heard Aika barking incessantly upstairs, which was unusual.
“Lily!” He called out, rounding into the kitchen, finding lunch foods on the counter, some half opened, and the phone on the floor. “Lily!” He yelled out again, a pit forming in his stomach as he mounted the stairs to the second floor.
He had never been upstairs before, everything he needed in the house was downstairs, the kitchen and half bath, so he was unfamiliar with the layout. But, as he reached the second floor landing, he found Aika standing in front of a closed door, barking, whining and scratching at the wood. He crossed the hall and lifted his hand, knocking softly on the door, and listening inside.
“Lily?” He called, knocking again. “Lily, are you all right in there?” He asked, growing even more concerned, when he didn't receive an answer.
Not waiting a moment longer, Sy pushed Aika away from the door and forced it open with his shoulder. As the door flung open and banged against the wall behind it, Sy rushed into the room and felt his heart plummet out of his body, finding Lily laying on the worn and discolored tile floor. He dropped to his knees as he scrambled over to her, cupping her cold, but sweaty, face in his hands, her eyes were rolled back and half lidded, her breathing was shallow and the scent of vomit permeated in the small space. Sy, despite his heart rocketing in his chest, was reasonably calm, his combat cool kicking in, as he quickly pressed his fingers to the spot under the corner of her jaw, feeling how faint her heartbeat was.
“Shit.” He snapped, under his breath, scanning the room, he found a prescription bottle that had rolled under the lip of the vanity, swiped it up and pocketed it. “Lily.” He called, patting her pale cheeks, trying to get any response out of her. “Come on, Lily. Answer me.” He begged her, patting her cheeks a little harder. “What were you thinking.” He growled, then rubbed his knuckles against her sternum in firm circles.
“Oh, thank god.” He sighed, when she whimpered at the painful rub. “Lily, open your eyes and look at me. Come on, darling, look at me.” He coaxed her, rubbing her chest again, but not with his knuckles, just trying to keep her responsive.
“Sy.” She whimpered, eyes fluttering.
“Yeah, love.” He nodded, shifting to pick her up into his arms and carried her out of the bathroom and down the stairs. “Don't worry, honey, I've got you. I'll take care of you and get you to the hospital.” He told her, carrying her out to his truck and got her strapped into the passenger seat, before hopping in and gunning it down the driveway, relieved at his slight laziness, that he left the gate wide open.
“Come on, Lily. Talk to me.” He told her, reaching out to squeeze her shoulder as she whined and pressed her forehead against the window. “Tell me something, anything.”
“I wanna sleep.” She whimpered, brows creased.
“No, no, you can't do that.” Sy shook his head at her, pulling her away from the window. “What color do you want me to paint the house?” He asked, trying to think of anything to keep her engaged long enough to get her to the emergency room.
“What about purple, with hot pink polka dots?” He grinned, blue eyes light up, but still scared for her.
“I hate pink.” Lily whined, her head moving to rest on Sy's broad and stiff shoulder.
“So, pink polka dots.” He said in a voice that said he agreed with the choice.
“No.” She groaned, shaking her head with a whimper, then fell quiet again.
“No, no! Come on, Lily, don't fall asleep.” He begged her, feeling her body relax against him.
The tires of Sy's truck squealed as he parked outside the hospital, pulling Lily out, he quickly carried her into the emergency room, his usual 'cool under pressure' attitude was starting to slip with the desperate situation. The nurse at the station instantly noticed Sy carrying Lily in and read how bad the situation was, jumping out of her seat and barking orders, while guiding Sy to a place he could lay her down and they could start working on her.
“What happened?” She asked Sy.
“I'm pretty sure she overdosed on these.” Sy replied, taking the prescription bottle out of his pocket and handed it to her. “I don't know why she decided to do it, I just found her unresponsive on the bathroom floor. She was responsive for a few minutes, but then stopped just before we got here.”
“How do you know her?” The nurse asked, reading the name off the bottle.
Sy bit his lip, he knew if he admitted that he only worked for Lily as a handyman, then they wouldn't let him see her until after they had done everything they could for her. So, he fibbed. “She's my fiancée.” He told her, his voice steady and his face gave away nothing, but his concern for her.
“So, her name is Lily Ana Moore?” The nurse asked, reading the name off the prescription label.
“Yes, ma'am.” Sy nodded, though he wasn't aware of her middle name.
“And, you are?” She asked, looking up at him.
“Austin Syverson.” He replied, glancing over to Lily's bed as she whimpered.
“We'll take the best care for her, Mr. Syverson.” the Nurse promised him, resting a gentle hand on his forearm and gave it a tender squeeze.
They tended to Lily, while Sy stepped out into the waiting room, he was too high strung and agitated to sit down, so he paced from the humming vending machine and the automatic doors. His mind roiled over reasons and scenarios as to why Lily would try to overdose. She had been fine, before he left to the hardware store for a new saw blade, playing tug-a-war with Aika and about to make them lunch. What could have happened in the, maybe, fifteen minutes he was away, that was so frightening that she would rather take her life, than to either face it or tell him about it. If she had said something to him, told him that she was afraid of something, or someone, then he would have promised to protect her.
In a heartbeat.
“I’ll protect her from now on.” He muttered to himself, still pacing the room.
Once they were satisfied with how stable she was, then sent her up to a private room for an overnight observation, Sy stayed with her the whole time, never leaving her side, even once she was stable and in her room. He sat in a chair beside her bed, chin resting on his chest as he snored softly, the room was dark and quiet, minus the heart monitor she was hooked up too. It was late, when Lily did finally come back around on her own, sighing and whimpering, her body feeling spent and sluggish. She opened her eyes and instantly recognized she wasn't in her own bed, but a strange room, and panic started to set it, causing her to wake Sy.
“Hey.” He sighed, rubbing his tired face and leaning forward to take her hand in his. “You're all right, Lily.” He told her, his voice rough from sleep.
“Where am I?” She asked, squeezing his hand, like it was a lifeline, calm now that she realized Sy was there, watching over her.
“The hospital.” He replied, thumb rubbing the top of her hand. “I barely managed to get you here, after that stunt you pulled.”
She let out a heavy breath and rested back against her pillow, squeezing her eyes shut. “I'm sorry, Sy.” She whispered, not opening her eyes again. “I didn't mean to scare you.”
“And what did you mean to do?” He asked, lifting a brow at her. “Why would you try killing yourself?”
“It's complicated.” She replied, sighing again and opening her eyes.
“Then, uncomplicate it.” Sy begged her, wanting to understand what she was thinking.
“I can't.” Lily shook her head, the fear that had gripped her before her attempt started to return.
Sy could feel the tremble in her hand as it gripped his, he knew there was something she was afraid of, that she was trying to run and hide from, and wanted to help her so much, to protect her, so badly. He got up out of his chair and sat on her bedside, holding her hand in his lap and gently brushed his fingers against her cheek.
“You don't have to be afraid.” He whispered, gently. “I promise, I will protect you.”
“Don't make a promise, you can't keep, Austin.” Lily replied, meeting his eye.
“I can, and I will.” Sy replied, his stomach twitched, hearing her use his first name. “Is there anything I can do for you?” He asked, lifting a brow at her.
Lily paused a moment, regarding him, then bit her lip. “Lay with me?” She whispered, gulping at the strangeness of her own request.
Sy blinked at her for a moment, it was a bit of an odd request, but, if that's what she wanted of him, then Sy would gladly do it. He nodded, feeling slightly awkward, then toed out of his boots, while she shifted and turned onto her side, so Sy had room to lay down with her. He let her shift, her back pressing against his chest, and tucked his arm under her head, gently pulling the blankets over them and resting his other arm over her side.
“This must be awkward for you.” She mumbled, a few minutes later.
“Actually, it's not.” He chuckled back, his breath lightly caressing the back of her hair. “The most awkward thing that I've ever done, happened on my very first deployment to Iraq.”
Lily turned her head to look back over at him. “Tell me about it?”
Sy smiled at her, biting his lip. “So, it was my first deployment, back in 2004, I had been in the country a week, but hadn't left base yet in that time.” He started to explain to her. “So, my first outing off the base was a decent distance, and at some point, I ended up needing to go to the restroom.”
She laughed, starting to get the picture, making Sy smile.
“Now, I wasn't naive. I knew there wasn't a bathroom for several klicks, and I doubted any of the locals were going to let my ass in to use their bathroom.” He laughed, making them both shake from its mirth. “So, I asked my commander, cause then, I was just some lowly runt, where I could go. He walked away for a moment and came back, carrying a short handled shovel, handed it to me and said, 'pick a spot.' motioning to the wide open field we were in.”
“Oh lord, no.” She grinned, blushing at the thought of digging a random hole and going in it. “Tell me you didn't!”
“Of course, I did!” He grinned back. “I really had to go, and I wasn't holding it for another hour on patrol and three hours back. So, I dug a hole, dropped my cameos and did my business, with six guys, more or less, watching me.”
“Watching you?”
“Well, they had to make sure no one snuck up on me, and tried to kill me.” He chuckled, fully amused.
“You're braver than I am.” Lily said, after they stopped laughing. “I would have held it.” She giggled, shaking her head at the thought, relaxing in his arms.
“I think that makes you much braver.” Sy whispered, feeling the change in her breathing against the skin of his bicep as she drifted back off to sleep. “So much braver.”
“Sy, you can't sleep on the couch like this.” Lily sighed, finding him on the couch in the living room.
Ever since she returned home from the hospital, Sy insisted on sleeping on the couch, not wanting to leave her alone in the house. She had tried convincing him that she was all right, that he didn't need to sleep there and keep an eye on her.
“You should go home to Austin, sleep in your own bed.” She told him, handing him a cup of fresh coffee.
“I haven't slept in my own bed, in nearly a month.” Sy replied, taking several deep gulps of the hot brew.
“What?” Lily snapped, sitting down beside him, with a cup of tea. “Still!”
“I told you, I've been sleeping at the motel in Celina.” He confessed to her. “I've been too tired most nights to safely drive back to Austin, and it's only a couple minutes from here, instead of three hours.” He told her, rubbing a hand over his face.
“And I told you, you didn't need too, Sy?” Lily sighed, annoyed with him.
“Because, you would have wanted to pay for it.” He countered.
“No, I would have given you the guest room upstairs, like I said.” She countered back, lifting a brow at him. “And, if you insist on staying here, then I suggest you take the room, instead of the couch, so at least then, you can stretch out and not wake up all stiff and uncomfortable.” She told him, firmly.
“Especially, since Aika seems to enjoy sleeping with you.”
Lily had come downstairs at night, several times, to find Sy's long body stretched out on the couch, his head resting on one armrest, while his feet hung over the other one, and Aika's large body laid on top of him, like some sort of furry blanket.
“I've already made it up for you.” She added, getting back up and going into the kitchen.
Sy got up and followed her, setting his coffee down on the breakfast nook table. “Lily-”
“We both know, you're not going to leave me alone in the house, Austin.” Lily huffed, yanking open the refrigerator door. “So, there's no use for your additional discomfort, by sleeping on a couch that has zero support or comfort, especially after you've spent all day breaking your back to fix up my property.” She explained to him, pulling out a carton of eggs and milk, before letting the door of the original Big Chill refrigerator slam shut behind her.
“There's a comfortable bed in the guestroom, that's situated against the window, with a small walk-in closet and dresser, as well as being across from the hallway bathroom. As I said, I made the bed up for you, clean sheets and pillowcases. I opened the window as well, to air it out, since it's usually closed up and unused.” She explained to him, pulling out a pan and setting it on the stove, clicking on the gas burner.
“I do need to warn you, that the hot water tap in the upstairs bathroom, doesn't work.”
“Is there something wrong with the hot water heater?” Sy asked, lifting a brow at her.
“Not that I'm aware of, but I also don’t know crap about them, so I wouldn't know where to look or how to fix it, without replacing the thing completely. But, I don't think there is a problem with it.”
“Why's that?”
“Because, the hot water in all the sinks work, and the hot water in my master bathroom works as well.” She explained to him, whipping up a pancake batter, while the pan heated up. “I just don't understand why the hot water in that particular bathroom doesn't work.”
“Has it worked at any point, while you lived here?” Sy asked, watching her.
Lily paused and sighed, her brow creasing as she stared off in the middle distance for a moment, trying to recall. “I don't think so.” She finally replied, going back to the batter.
“Hm.” Sy frowned, his own brow deeply creased as he mauled over the numerous reasons the hot water wouldn't work. “I'll check it after breakfast.” He answered, pressing his lips together. “Do you need any help?” He asked, watching her fuss over the rest of breakfast.
“Yeah, can you flip the pancakes for me.” She nodded, side stepping the stove, so he could flip them.
Sy nodded, taking up the rubber spatula she was using and gripped the handle of the pan, carefully working the edge of the spatula around the sides of the bubbling pancake, before slipping it under and flipped it, quite unsuccessfully, splattering half cooked batter all over the pan. Lily saw it from the corner of her eye and laughed, shaking her head at him.
“Have you never flipped a pancake before, Captain?” She teased, turning to face him.
“I have, I'm just shit at it.” He replied, grinning at her, but Lily could see the warmth seeping into his hairy cheeks.
“Here.”
Lily stepped between Sy and the stove, gripping his hand, that still held the utensil, and guided him to the other pancake in the pan, gently slipping the edge of the spatula under it, and with a quick flick of their wrists, she helped him flip over the pancake, perfectly.
“See?” She smiled up at him, her blue eyes filled with pride. “You just have to do it quick and steady, like ripping off a plaster.” She picked up the batter and poured some of it into the sizzling pan. “Give it a minute, then try flipping it again.”
With that, she turned back to what she was doing, dicing up some potatoes. “Look at you!” She exclaimed, watching Sy's smooth pancake flip.
“You're a good teacher.” He smiled at her, setting the finished pancakes on a plate beside the stove.
“Would you like bacon or sausage?” She asked, opening the refrigerator again, turning her head to look at him, a brow lifted in curiosity.
Sy licked his lips and got a funny feeling in his stomach, something he had never felt before, not even as a young boy. He felt like he—belonged, here and now, with Lily. It was a natural feeling of domestic belonging, like there was a oneness between them and he had found his rightful place in the world.
“Sy?” Lily frowned at him, concerned.
She saw that far off look in his eye and worried he was having a flashback. She had seen him have them before, and after the first one, where he nearly took her head off, Lily learned not to touch Sy, calling his name, usually, did the trick of bringing him back around. But, this time was different, there was a sparkle in his cerulean eyes, and a soft smile on his lips.
“Austin?” She said, carefully, licking her lips and feeling butterflies in her stomach.
Sy blinked several times and focused on her, smiling completely, warm and happy. “Sausage, please.” He finally replied, cocking his head at her.
“Okay.” Lily nodded back, eyes wide like a doe's. “Why don't you sit down and relax, I can finish up.” She suggested, motioning to the table. “Your coffee is getting cold.”
“Sure.”
He kept smiling at her, even as he sat down at the table and sipped his cooling coffee; watching her drop the finely diced potatoes into the pan, stirring them around as they cooked and browned, before cracking three eggs on the edge of the pan and dumped the contents in with the potatoes, then tossed the shells into the empty bowl the pancake batter was in. She kept stirring the browned potatoes and fluffy eggs together, then added sliced up sausage. Finishing it up, she brought the food to the table and Sy served himself, heaping the potato, egg and sausage scramble onto his plate with four large pancakes, drizzling maple syrup everywhere. Lily picked Sy's now empty coffee cup up and filled it with fresh coffee, putting in two sugars and set it back down in front of his plate.
“You know how I take my coffee.” He asked, digging his fork into his mountain of food.
“I've known you for several months at this point, so, it's only natural that I've noticed things about you.” She chuckled, sitting down and making her own plate for breakfast.
“Fair enough.” He laughed, and got down to eating.
After breakfast, and helping Lily wash and dry the dishes, Sy went upstairs to the hallway bathroom to try and figure out why the hot water wasn't coming out of the tap. He tested it, spinning the hot tap all the way over, water jetting out of the shower head. He left it running for several long minutes, touching it periodically, and only found it to be even colder than when it first came out. Pressing his lips together and sighing through his nose, Sy turned the tap off and went downstairs to his truck, taking out the tool box from the back and carried it back inside, removing the faucet cover and checked the valve. He removed the tap handle, unscrewed the plate and reached inside for the valve, finding it was broken.
“There you are, you pesky little shit.” He said, setting it on the sink counter. “I need a new one.” He sighed. “Lily.” He called out, going down the hall to her office.
“Sy?” She called back, her eyes still on the work on her computer screen.
“I found the problem with the shower in the hall bath.” He told her, standing in the office doorway. “I'm going to go down to the hardware store to get a replacement part for it.” He explained, looking her over as she sat cross legged in her office chair.
“Will you be okay, while I'm gone?” He asked, his tone careful.
Lily's shoulders slumped and she looked over at him. “I'll be fine, Austin.” She told him, slightly annoyed with him being so overprotective, though she appreciated it and felt incredibly safe with him around. “Go, and if you remember, can you bring me back some Reese cups?” She asked, as he turned to leave.
“I've got a mad chocolate craving going on.”
“A hot shower and chocolate coming up.” He grinned at her, and left for the store. “Keep an eye on her, Aika.” He whispered to the pup as she laid spread out on the front porch, enjoying the warm rays of the sun; patting her on the head.
Aika huffed at him, before getting up and strolling inside, climbing the stairs and wandering into Lily's office, then laid down at her feet, dropping back off to sleep. Lily smiled down at her, bending in her chair to pat her between her proudly standing ears, then returned to her work. Sy returned an hour later, with four packages of king sized Reese Cups and the replacement hot water valve.
“Christ.” Lily laughed, when he set the candy down in front of her. “Did you buy the store out?” She teased, looking up at him.
“Actually,” Sy grinned brazenly at her. “I did. It was all they had in the little corner store, next to the hardware store.” He confessed, he thought it would be funny to buy them all, and one can never have enough chocolate.
“Thank you.” She giggled, opening one of them up, amused by his sense of humor and popped one into her mouth..
“You're welcome.” Sy nodded his head to her, butterflies filling his stomach hearing her laugh, making her laugh, and gulped as he watched her take the candy whole into her mouth, feeling something stir much lower than his stomach, before turning and going back to fix the shower.
“Is it working?” Lily asked, a little while later, coming into the bathroom to watch him work.
“See for yourself.” Sy replied, turning the tap on and stepping aside.
Lily stepped forward and held her hand out under the streaming water, feeling the pleasant warmth of it. She looked over her shoulder at Sy and smiled at him, proud and amazed. “That's amazing! Is there anything you can't fix?” She asked, drying her hand on the towel hanging on the rack.
“Oh, I'm sure there is.” Sy smiled, leaning back against the vanity. “But, if I encounter it, I'm sure I could figure it out.”
“I'm sure you would.” Lily smiled, patting him on the chest as she went out of the bathroom.
Sy beamed with pride, seeing how happy and proud of him she was, her gentle pat only re-enforcing that fact.
Later that night, Sy took the duffle bag he had filled with his clothing and other things he needed, upstairs to Lily's offered guestroom. It was a sweet little room, the window let in a lot of light during the day and he could see Billie Marlowe's crops and the beautiful night sky as he laid in bed. The dresser was big enough for all his things. He toed out of his boots and sat down on the edge of the bed, then laid back. It was a comfortable bed, more comfortable than the couch and the bed in the motel room he had been renting.
Satisfied, Sy stood, pulled out a pair of shorts and a black tank top, with a bar of soap, and crossed the hall to the bathroom.
He stood under the hot spray of the shower head, letting it seep into his tired and sore body for a while, before soaping up his body, head to toe, rinsed and dressed, before stepping out of the steamy bathroom. He paused in the hall and turned his head, Lily's room was at the end of the hall, the staircase leading into the kitchen between them, and her door was closed. But, he could hear the soft creaks of her moving about her room, no doubt doing the similar ritual he was, before going off to sleep.
Sighing, he went into his room, leaving the door cracked open for Aika to come in and out, and crawled into bed, the washed sheets and quilt smelled just like Lily, and he couldn't suppress the moan that escaped from deep in his throat, pressing the quilt to his nose and inhaling deeply. She smelled amazing, he wondered what her skin smelled like, before drifting off.
Lily wasn't sure what time it was, when she first heard it. At first, she thought it was just part of the dream she was having, but as it came more regularly, she realized it wasn't in her dream, but in the house. Her eyes opened, blinking in the darkness of her room as she laid still in bed, listening intently.
Yes, it was real and in the house, but what was it?
Shaking her head, she threw her blankets back and got out of bed, tiptoeing to her closed door and pressed her ear to the wood. It was a loud whimper, followed by a whine, with other noises mixed in. Daring to open her door, she stepped out into the hall and slowly followed the noise, down to Sy's room. She pushed open his half open door and peeked inside, Aika was sitting on the side of the bed, whining as she looked up at Sy, who was laying on his back, sweaty brow deeply creased and shaking his head, like he was trying to wake himself up, to no avail.
“Move.” He called out, body jerking. “Tristan.” He yelled out, then whined.
“Sy.” She called out to him, standing in the doorway. “Sy, wake up.”
But, he didn't.
Biting her lip, and stepping into the fray, Lily moved to the side of the bed, her stomach clenched as she sat down beside him, waiting for him to suddenly lunge at her, but he didn't. Her heart was pounding as she reached out and gently wiped away the heavy sweat on his brow, he made a sound, between a sigh and a growl as she did, his hands coming up, but fell back to the bed, before reaching her. She frowned at him, stroking the side of his face, his hair was slightly longer than it had been, when he first came. He usually kept it very short, but with her going into the hospital, he had neglected cutting it.
She touched the side of his head, feeling the soft hair just above his ear, then petting down his neck and cupping his cheek.
“It's all right.” She cooed at him in a soft and silky voice. “Ssshh, it's all right.” She spoke to him softly, caressing his bearded cheek with her thumb and rubbed his chest through the thin black material of his tank top.
Sy's wide and alarmed eyes shot open and he snapped upright, gasping for air and shaking, but he didn't lash out at her, like he had on the porch that day. She bit her lip, watching this bear of a man tremble, struggling to control his breathing and so frightened. Lily laid her hand on his tense shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze; Sy's head snapped to the side, looking at her, but not quite seeing her, but the face of the teammate he had been calling out for, one of the first men Sy had ever lost in combat.
“Lily.” He whispered, in a disembodied voice. “What are you doing here?” He asked, suddenly sounding alarmed and panicked, his sweaty body rigid. “It’s not safe, you have to leave, before more of them show up.” He told her, his voice still sounding discorporated.
“Who, Austin?” Lily frowned, shaking her head at him, not understanding what he was talking about. “Who’s coming?”
Sy’s vision hyper-focused on the small gap between them, twitching quickly side to side, like he was trying to reconnect unplugged wires in his jumbled up and confused mind, struggling to remember if he was in reality with Lily or in the nightmare of a long ago mission in Iraq that had gone bad for everyone involved, changing Sy forever, the first hung thread in a thick web of PTSD and flashbacks. But, the gentle touch of Lily’s hands on him, the soft whisper of his name in her voice, the close warmth of her body and her sweet smell gave Sy the traction he needed to pull himself back to reality and consciousness.
“I’m sorry.” He whispered, biting his lip, self-conscious. “I didn’t mean to wake you.”
“It’s all right.” She replied, then wrapped her arms around him, hugging him against her and rubbing his back. “It's okay, Austin.” She whispered into his ear as he buried his face into her neck. “You're okay. Safe and sound, back home, and with me.” She told him, closing her eyes as his arms wrapped around her waist and he clutched her against his sweaty and shaking body.
“I've got you, Austin.” She assured him and rested her cheek against his temple, tenderly rubbing the back of his head. “I won't let anything happen.”
Sy nuzzled his face into her neck, taking deep breaths to calm himself down and took in the comforting scent of her skin as he did, it helped him relax, as did the soft words she whispered into his ear and the soothing touch of her hand on his head or on his back. He didn't want to let her go, afraid that as soon as he did, she would fade away and the nightmares would come back, having only tricked him into thinking it was her.
Even though her heart thundered in her chest, she made a choice. “Come on, Austin.” She said into his ear, patting him on the back and wiggling in his arms, trying to entice him to let her go, so she could stand up.
“Where?” He whimpered into her neck.
She licked her lips. “Come to bed with me.” She told him, her lips brushing the rim of his earlobe. “Let me hold you and keep the nightmares away.”
Sy moaned softly into her ear, but his arms secured themselves around her waist, shifting her into his lap and stood, picking her up, still very unwilling to let her go, even for the minute it would take to go down to her room. So, he carried her down the hall and laid down in her bed, only then, letting her go long enough for her to cover them up and lay down beside him. Sy turned onto his side, wrapping his arms around her and hugged her against his body, his head laying on her chest.
Lily frowned, sympathetically, down at Sy, caressing his head, neck and shoulders, whispering soft things to him, soothing and lulling him back to sleep, with the pound of her heart in his ear and the pillow-y warmth of her skin and breasts under his head.
“My sweet bear.” She cooed at his sleeping form, then kissed the top of his head.

Pairing: Joel Miller x Female!Reader
Warnings: Age gap (the reader is 26 and Joel is 53), a lot of teasing/sexual tension, implied romantic feelings.
Summary: It's been going on for years. They both know better than to act on their feelings, but patience starts running thin when a few boundaries are crossed.
Word Count: 5.280
Author's Note: Okay y'all so I am a whore for Joel with long hair and I unintentionally made this into a fix-it au where Joel is alive. Also, the reader is going to have some OC characteristics to fit the scenario better. Finally, this fic changes POV's a lot, so I'm gonna clear that up:
• ----R and below: The reader's POV.
• ----J and below: Joel's POV.
• ----B and below: Both POV's.
The fic starts off with Joel's POV.
Enjoy!

"Hey, Joel," Dina called over to the man sipping coffee on his porch.
"Mornin' Dina," He replied as his daughter's girlfriend walked over to him. Her baby bump had grown a little more and it never failed to put a smile on Joel's face.
"There's a little trouble with the patrol today," She said. "Jesse won't be able to make it to patrol with (Y/N)."
Shit.
"And they're askin' me to fill in?" He sat up a little.
"Yup, Maria told me to ask you if-"
"No problem, sure, I'll do it." He spoke nonchalantly, then asked if Jesse was alright. Dina told him she wasn't sure, that it must be something important for him to miss patrol, which made Joel nod: "You told (Y/N) too, or...?"
"No, but she's gonna be there regardless. I doubt that she knows."
"Alright, thanks Dina," Joel got up and she smiled in return before walking over to Ellie's place.
It was wrong. By the lord it was wrong, but he couldn't help it. You were fierce, confident, determined and disciplined; qualities he came to appreciate in time, but a bit differently only when it came to you. He shouldn't want you, an unknown source in his mind kept telling himself, but he did. He didn't know why, he never found himself being attracted to a woman your age, yet you had him under your spell. Oh the things you did to him...
Worst part was, he couldn't have you, whether he liked it or not. Nevermind the fact that you were too young for him, you probably didn't want him anyways- despite the crystal clear signals he got from you. It was just how you were, though: A little physical and perhaps a little flirty, but he could just be confusing that with your confidence.
Or he could be overthinking everything.
Joel readied his backpack, but realised there was still a little more than an hour before the rendez-vous, so he decided to head over to your place to tell you about the news to kill some time. After he made it there and knocked on your door while calling your name a couple of times, which were left unanswered, your neighbour curiously looked over the fences and called over to Joel: "She left a while ago... For the gym, I think."
"Thank you," Joel smiled politely and earned a wave from the lady in return. He took his time as he walked over to the gym. After he arrived, he looked around for awhile to spot where you were, but when he found it, the sight almost made him choke.
There you were, ankles crossed as you pulled yourself up and chin over the barfix with closed eyes, a frown and a clenched jaw. Sweat laced the sides of your face and Joel's eyes wandered lower: You were wearing a sports bra and matching shorts which hugged your frame tightly and the sun was shining directly onto your muscles, which the lord himself carved out and were also sweaty, but Joel didn't care - it made you look more attractive, if anything. You let out a huff and lowered yourself down, while he tried to collect himself. He didn't want to disturb you so he decided to wait until you finished...
...but you didn't seem to be finishing any time soon. He didn't want to look like a creep as he stood there and waited, so after you did another pull up and let yourself down, he cleared his throat.
----R
"(Y/N), here you are."
Had you not been already hanging, you definitely would've fell when you heard Joel's voice reach your ears. You opened your eyes to see him slowly approach you, his stupid thumb stuck in behind his stupid belt.
You hated it: You hated finding this man attractive and you hated your guts for occasionally flirting with him - him, who probably would never look at you the way you looked at him. He liked you, of course, he enjoyed your company but not the way you wanted him to. You hated that you had a crush on this man, who became even more gorgeous as he let his hair grow over the last few years, you also hated how he neatly parted it to the left.
Patrol with him was both a treat and a curse at the same time. You got to spend time with him, which made it a treat, but when you watched him- saw him in action, how aggressive he was, heat started to pool between your thighs. He was so rough and precise as he was smart; he always knew what to do under any circumstance, so you almost never worried when you went out with him. He made you feel safe, praised you and played with your heart when he responded to your flirting and nothing came out of it.
You hated it because your little "crush" on him was pathetic, for someone as confident as you. Sure, you teased and flirted with him, but one praise as simple as you did well today and you'd be melting on spot. You even tried to get with other people to distract yourself, to no avail. They weren't Joel.
None of them could ever be Joel.
"Good morning!" You said with a high pitched voice, reflecting your struggle to keep yourself up.
"To you too," He chuckled at your state and watched as you pulled yourself up slowly. "Hey, listen. Jesse ain't gonna make it to patrol today so I'm fillin' in for him."
----B
The way you faltered a little didn't escape him: "Why? Is he okay?"
"I dunno, but I'm sure he is. Something important must've come up," Joel informed you, not wanting to worry you as you seemed to care about him. A lot. Ugh.
"Tsk," You breathed out and closed your eyes to focus on keeping your head above the metal bar.
Joel then spoke again: "Yeah, I was just here to let ya know."
"Okay, well-" You exhaled audibly and suddenly let yourself go. The force of the action sent you flying a little and it almost made you bump into him: "Woah, oh, sorry-"
"Woah there," You both chuckled at the same time. Joel held you by your elbows to help you balance yourself and your heart rate picked up pace when you realised how close your face was to his chest a moment ago - the chest you wanted to get your hands on: How muscular was he? How many scars did he have there? How would it feel to run your fingers through the hair as you ro-
"Uhm, yeah, as I was saying," You snapped yourself back to reality and took a small step back, disappointed by the way his fingers let go of your arms: "I'm done here, just need to do a couple of stretches, then head back and take shower."
"Right. Well, I'll see you at the gate, then?"
"Uh, sure, yeah."
You didn't know what else to say other than stay. You wanted him near you and around you, you wanted to show off to him and you wanted his attention, so you had to think quick.
Joel didn't want to leave either, even though you were going to spend the whole day together. He still nodded and turned around to leave. It was then, when a brilliant idea crossed your mind: "Actually, Joel?" He turned around, gave you a soft look that made you want to run up to him and kiss all over his face. "Could you help me with my stretches?"
If he'd been drinking or eating anything, he most definitely would've choked: "Help you?"
"Yeah," You flashed a smile at him. "It's simple, you just gotta press me down and keep me in place." The widening of his eyes, puzzled face and his tense posture made you shy. "Eh- Normally, Jesse helped me with them."
True. Some stretches required someone to push your body to its limits - when you worked out alone, you stuck to simpler stretches, but right now, you needed a reason to have him by your side.
Joel was torn between leaving, like a responsible person who knew when to walk away would. He was responsible, yes, but his moral compass was thrown out of the window whenever you joined the picture. So far, he wanted to think he was handling his emotions well- by not acting on them and not talking about them.
Now, however, it was as if he was facing the last straw. He had a few boundaries left to cross, and this was one of them.
"Plus, I'm a bit tired to do them. Will you help me?"
Lies. All lies.
You'd been doing these stretches for long enough, even though you'd worked hard, you weren't tired at all. Joel thought this to be the case, so he tried to go around it: "You sure? I mean, how're you tired?"
"I've been training like hell this morning," You settled on the mat. "I don't wanna do these stretches, but I have to. I'm not in the mood to pull a muscle today."
That was good enough for him really: "'Kay," He sighed. "What do you need me to do?"
Your eyes glowed in excitement before you faced forward and explained: "Im gonna lean forward, like this-" You extended your legs forward and lowered yourself down. "All you gotta do is press on my back and stop me from moving away for a few seconds."
A few seconds which felt like five minutes, truth be told.
As soon as he touched your bare back, you sighed, then forced it into a hiss. He immediately retreated his hands, thinking he hurt you, pushing the ludicrous idea that you might have moaned away immediately.
His hands were big and a little cold comparing to your skin which was on fire after the workout, but you'd be lying if you said you didn't do that on purpose. You straightened up and looked at him with an innocent smile: "Your hands are cold."
Not cold enough to make you react like that, obviously.
Joel offered an awkward chuckle from the back of his throat: "You're gonna have to deal with it, missy."
And deal with it you did- barely. Christ, that was a bad idea, your worst one yet. To have his hands on your bare skin, pressing you down made your cheeks burn and mouth hang open as he kept you in place. You almost didn't hear him when he spoke, too busy trying to comprehend the size of his hands and how they'd feel around your throa-
"How many of these do you gotta do?"
"Uh, dunno," You blurted out. "Not too many."
Joel was partly glad, it felt so wrong yet it was just a simple act of help you could've asked from anyone. After 20 seconds of staying like that, you straightened. You went into a head-to-knee position and gave him an okay to press you down again.
You switched to the other leg after half a minute, but you were running out of ideas. There weren't any positions left that you could use his help with, so you played one last card to ruin him: "More."
"W-What?"
Good riddance.
"Press a little harder," You pretended to focus and tried your best not to smirk, knowing you had him where you wanted.
"Oh- hm," He cleared his throat and pressed a little more down on your back. If your plan hadn't backfired and made you almost moan through your teeth, everything was going accordingly.
Joel went to pull back, but stopped when you added: "It's been a while since I did these..."
Christ.
"That enough?" He slowly retreated his hands and stood up, watching you lean up where you sat.
"Yup, that'll be it," You smiled and blinked a couple of times. If Joel had known better, he would've thought you were making him do that, then being all cute on purpose-
It was going to be a long day.
----R
Patrol with the older Miller went as normally as it always was. Part one usually went like this: Meet up at the gate, get your rifles and horses, ride out, reach checkpoint one and sign your names. The road to checkpoint one didn't have any trouble, it usually never did. It was more quiet between you two than usual though. Had you gone too far?
"So, uh," You said once the two of you mounted your horses again. "You coming to the dance tonight?"
"What?" He snapped his head in your direction, looking clueless. "What dance?"
"Well, not a dance exactly but- you know what I mean?" You started riding. "The adults only event?"
He looked really distracted, a bit tense even: "Oh, right. You know those ain't my thing."
"I know," You nodded with a soft smile. "But I haven't seen you in any event ever since you decked Seth."
"Decked?" Joel chuckled bitterly at the memory.
"He deserved it, and more, that prick," You rolled your eyes, making him chortle.
"And nobody managed to shut up about it for the whole month," He sighed with a gorgeous yet tired smile on his face which you managed to see just in time. "So, no thanks. I'll pass."
"Aw, come on," You whined. "You can't avoid coming to these events forever. Please?"
He gave you a confused look, his smile slowly disappearing but not in a bad way: "Why?"
A good question. Oh, no reason, just wanna try and make a move on you, quite possibly jump your bones if it all goes well.
"I wanna make sure you haven't lost your ability to socialise." You offered.
"Really? Why, you're my momma now?"
"Ew, no," You both laughed. "Can't I be sure my friend is alive and well occasionally?"
----J
Friend.
A word that made Joel stop and think.
You saw him as a friend, huh? Two people, with clear sexual tension and an obvious age gap between them- Friends was an awkward description for him, but it was better than nothing.
He opened his mouth to reply, to insist that he was indeed alive and well, but you stopped him: "You know what I mean."
The conversation was making him a little distracted, he noticed, so he decided to keep his mouth shut until you reached checkpoint two. You didn't press him on, which was also a delight. That's another thing he liked about you: You knew your bounds- in patrol anyways. Or maybe it was because you got to know him well over the time, knew what he liked or not.
Part two went quieter too- infected and conversation wise. Not even a single runner was on sight as you swept through the small cabins and houses. Except for the occasional clear's and nothing here's, you didn't say anything else. Joel itched to talk to you, about anything to break the silence, but he was too lost in thought.
When you finally made it back to Jackson, you finally spoke up: "So? You coming?" He chuckled, mostly out of relief, then you added: "I found a new outfit, I wanna know what you think."
That caught Joel's attention. With a curious smile, after handing over your horses, he asked: "What outfit?"
"You'll see... If you come." You smirked, your close proximity making Joel's heart race.
"Don't get your hopes up," He sighed with a small grin and tucked his thumb behind his belt, the other one gripping the strap of his rifle.
"You're the worst," You punched his shoulder with mock upset, making him chortle and stumble a little to the right. "Anyways, I'll see you tomorrow then."
Joel remained quiet, then you walked away with a soft smile gracing your lips. The words sunk deeper than he would've liked, a sudden wave of guilt soaking his guts with regret, even though you didn't sound disappointed or upset. Lips pursed, he watched you hand your rifle to Peter and sign off, then leave; his steps coming to a halt as you did.
He just might check out what was up at the dance tonight, if he could successfully move himself out of his comfort zone in the following few hours.
----R
"Well well, look who it is," Tommy grinned when you approached the doors of the pub. The night had settled across the sky by the time you stepped outside your place. The sound of music and chatter of the people from inside filled your ears.
"Yours truly," You smirked. "It's crowded in there huh?"
"It sure is," Tommy said as he turned around to lead you inside. "Adults only events tend to attract more people, as y'can guess. Don't you look pretty today."
"Why thank you." You smiled playfully: "For no one, but myself, at that."
You lied through your teeth. You had dressed up in the silly hope that Joel would actually show up. You had been planning on it ever since you came across the item wrapped around your hips in an abandoned clothes shop a few weeks ago, and this event was the perfect excuse for you to wear it. For him.
"I ain't sayin' nothing!" Tommy raised his hands up in defense. "Figured that much, haven't seen anyone catch your interest in a long time."
Ha. Nice.
The atmosphere was lively and the air was warm, full of energy. Chatter and dancing went about the packs of people scattered across the space, but you couldn't see Joel, much to your disappointment - you weren't surprised though. What surprised you was Jesse suddenly showing up.
"Where's Ellie and Dina?" You asked after a while of teasing him about missing patrol.
"They decided to stay behind, I guess." He shrugged.
"What can I get y'all?" Tommy smiled, suddenly appearing behind the counter. Without waiting for an answer, he filled two glasses and pushed them towards you. You and Jesse looked at each other for a brief moment, before knocking it back at one go. "Woah there..."
A round of laughter later, you felt someone's presence behind you, then they tapped you on the shoulder: "Hey, (Y/N)!"
Much to your disappointment, once more, it was a boy named Mark. He was a year older than you, had no features whatsoever matching Joel's prettier ones and he took an obvious liking to you, which in truth you didn't appreciate, even though he wasn't weird about it or anything. You faked a smile and turned to him a little: "Hi."
"Good to see you," Sure. "How, uh, how are you?"
"Busy, actually," You pointed at the glass Tommy was refilling for you.
"Mind if I join?" He made himself comfortable on the stool next to you.
"Yeah. I do." Your smile never faded but your words were laced with poison.
He looked between you, Tommy and Jesse, mortified at your answer: "W- Heh, well, would you wanna dance later, then-?"
"No, I don't." You spoke calmly and turned to face Jesse again, only for him to move to tap you on the shoulder, which Tommy stopped from happening.
"Why don't you go home, huh?" He grabbed his wrist firmly, but not hard enough to leave a bruise of course. "The lack of oxygen in your brain's clearly stoppin' you from understandin' a word as simple as no."
You looked over at the younger Miller, a stern look on his face which seemed to make Mark piss himself. Suddenly, an even deeper voice was heard behind the boy: "I advise you to listen to him, son."
You turned completely in your seat to see Joel grabbing Mark by the shoulders, making him jump, then remove him from the seat carefully. Mark's legs were quick to oblige, making him walk towards the exit, but Joel held him in place: "A-ah, what do you say to the lady?"
"I'm s-sorry, (Y/N)," He nodded quickly. "I'll never disturb you again, I promise."
"Good boy," Joel patted him on the back, which sent him running to the door. Your cheeks were suddenly burning and you couldn't help but smile shyly.
"Tsk, what a jackass," Tommy nodded disapprovingly as Joel took the now empty space next to you.
"You decided to show then, huh?" You smirked at Joel.
"Yeah, figured you'd break someone's wrists and make 'em eat it," He chuckled, tipping his head at his brother in a greeting -God he looked so handsome, was that a new shirt?- before he continued: "Decided it'd be a shame to miss it."
You giggled and lightly pushed at his arm, almost immediately feeling the muscles underneath the rolled up sleeve of his blue shirt: "I'll take that as a I came because you asked and I listened for once." The exchange, obviously, didn't go unnoticed by his brother and Jesse, which made you sit upright suddenly: "Tommy was the one who was gonna break his wrist anyways..."
"Nobody gets to disturb anyone here, especially right in front of me," He said and slid a glass to his brother.
Jesse joined in: "I doubt it, but should he ever-"
"Aw, you guys are spoiling me," You grinned and waved your hand down, pressing the other onto your chest.
----J
You looked beautiful. You were wearing a plain, dark green, mid-thigh, flare skirt; which could pass as a miniskirt, but Joel was no fashion expert. You always did come up with the rarest clothing items (like your sports set that morning), so he wasn't surprised that you happened across the skirt. You also had a simple, white, v-neck t-shirt on- which all in all was the reason you left Joel speechless: You could be wearing something as simple as these, but you'd still look so damn pretty.
A few minutes later, after Jesse and Tommy disappeared in different directions and you were finally left alone, Joel spoke up: "Is this the-"
"What made you-" You gave each other a brief look before chuckling: "You go first."
"Ah, I was gonna ask if this was the outfit you wanted me to see," He said, briefly looking down to point at your skirt.
He watched you run a hand through your hair and bite your bottom lip before answering: "Yeah..." You got up and stuffed your hands in your pockets, which made Joel's heart sizzle. "What do you think?"
He gave you a genuine smile: "I think you look beautiful."
The shock on your face made Joel panick a little, but when you offered a shy little smile, he relaxed: "You- Really?"
He gave you a single, slow nod in acknowledgement, his smile grew bigger when you beamed at him and offered him a quiet thank you, then sat back. You were staring hard at your glass, clearly avoiding his gaze and he found it rather cute, but didn't comment on it.
He was looking forward to chat with you, after all, you were the reason why he showed up, but you were unfortunately dragged away by a couple of friends, Jesse included...
To dance.
An upbeat song he didn't recognise started playing, putting you and another boy, Mick, to action. Everyone backed away to give you two space, then started off with what seemed to be something you'd been practicing for a while. You mirrored each other's moves, it was similar to some folk dance he'd watched way before the outbreak, but it most definitely wasn't a folk dance. Your arms linked occasionally, hands on your hips as you crossed each other's legs with fast movements and other types of moves Joel couldn't name if he tried, but it was organised and fun to watch. It wasn't intimate, too, just a silly little dance as you called it minutes later when you finished and walked to the bar for a drink. You didn't stay long, though, just downed your drink, winked at him and went back to the stage where you and Mick (but mostly you) stole the show.
It went on for two more rounds, to the point your t-shirts were absolutely soaked and your legs couldn't take it anymore. Joel had a particularly hard time in his seat, watching your skirt float around your thighs made him feel embarrassed with himself. Tommy even went as far as to tease him about his constant squirming, but a glare from his older brother was enough to shut him up.
The last dance finished off with you in Mick's arms, leaning back in his hold and closing your eyes with laughter. Everyone clapped you both, which earned you a kiss on the cheek from Mick- which you returned. Joel's jaw clenched unintentionally, even though you and him didn't appear to be more than friends.
Stop. Stop it, you idiot.
He couldn't care less about these types of things, drama about who's dating who and whatnot, but when it came to you he naturally grew curious.
He watched you, eyelids struggling to keep themselves open as Jesse led you and helped you onto the stool, next to Joel once more. You huffed and giggled, eyes closed with sweat droplets on your forehead. He couldn't help it when his smile grew wider at your tipsy state.
What he didn't see coming was the sudden hand on his thigh and your back against his arm, letting your head drop onto his shoulder as you let out a brief laugh: "Never let me dance and drink at the same time again."
Joel didn't know what to say, he quickly looked around for Jesse only to find him already gone and a couple of people staring at the both of you. With a rush of panic, he responded: "I don't think I'm the one you should say that to, darlin'."
Your hand and the rest of your body immediately retreated when you jumped at his voice: "Joel?!" You looked a little embarrassed and he couldn't help but smirk. "Uh, where's Jesse?"
The question almost made him scrunch up his face, but he patiently waited until the end of the conversation, which was after you've walked away to find the boy in question and he was alone with his own thoughts... Jealousies...
"He dropped you off and went over there, I think." Joel nodded to the direction he thought Jesse went off to - he didn't see though, he was too busy focusing on you when your fingertips had brushed somewhere dangerously near his crotch.
"Huh," You stared around to find him, but Joel figured you were too intoxicated to actually see that far. "You need to stop wearing the same clothes."
He raised a brow at that: "You tell him that."
"Oh I will," You grinned mischievously and suddenly grabbed Joel's glass of whiskey from his hand, then downed it at one go before he could intervene.
"Hey!" He tried to grab the glass from you but you leaned back. "I think you've had enough for the night."
"Says who-?" You pouted and at the very same time, lost your balance, realising that you leaned a little too back. However, Joel caught you; one hand on your arm, the other on your waist and he pulled you back - he didn't know if you did it purposefully, but you practically fell into his body: "Oh! I'm sorry-" You laughed, not looking sorry at all. "Thanks, Joel," You purred, extending the 's' and the 'l' at the end of each word as you grabbed onto his biceps. "You saved me."
"Pfft," Joel couldn't help but let his hand linger on your waist as he made sure you stood in place. Your eyes met when you lifted your head from his chest - the meaning behind his hazel gaze and your own was similar and it lasted for what felt like a whole minute, while in reality it was no longer than a few seconds.
You finally let his arms go and he took it as his cue to remove his hand from your waist (which, for a moment, felt like it had been glued there): "So... You enjoying yourself, old man?"
Joel sighed through his nose, amused at how the alcohol in your system was slowing your speech, then went back to how he had been sitting before you came. Just when you asked, the smooth, familiar tune of Ain't No Sunshine started playing. After all the excitement, a slower music felt nice: "Sure. You?"
"Oh I sure am," You nodded and leaned back against the counter with something of a triumphant smile.
"I can tell," Joel replied, then without turning his head, side eyed you. His stare later on moved down to your skirt. "Why'd you get all dressed up for, really?"
"Huh?" You blinked, not processing if he was asking what you thought he was.
"I, uh- just never took you for the skirt type."
"Is that so?" You asked, eyes widening. "Well, just trying on a new outfit..." You looked down and bit your lower lip, making Joel's heart skip a beat. He mentally kicked himself for not leaving right then and there and continuing to talk to you: "There's actually another reason."
"Hm?"
"There's this guy," You turned towards him, placed your arm paralleled across his on the counter and leaned forward a little, pretending to look around. His fingertips scratched against the wooden surface of the counter at the mention of this guy in question. "I don't know his name, but maybe you do?"
He just raised a brow when you looked at him innocently: "He's a bit old, around this tall," Your hand went back and forth in the air as you tried to size the man's height in your mind. "Has pretty, long, graying hair with an also graying beard... A little scar on his nose," You looked at him and leaned in a little more, invading his personal space but not touching him, then pointed at the exact spot on your nose and it was then, Joel realised, that you were indeed describing himself. "He's wearing this blue shirt and, honestly, it would look better on him if he opened another button or two."
I know, I know
Hey I oughta leave young thing alone
But ain't no sunshine when she's gone
He wanted to counter, tease you back, lean down and taste your lips, then place a kiss or two on your neck and bite it softly just to hear you moan quietly into his ear- he also needed to get his shit together, as much as he wanted to do all of that.
He couldn't quite believe his self control when he leaned away from you, especially since the tip of your noses almost touched and he felt your hot breath on his lips. He cleared his throat and quickly looked around to see if anyone was looking- no one had seen the rather intimate interaction so he spoke: "I don't know who that is."
The disappointment on your features was like a knife twisting up in his guts. You blinked a couple of times, but didn't lean back: "S- Sure you do..."
"I don't," Joel insisted, his voice stern. "Maybe you should look for someone else."
Your disappointment turned into embarrassment and anger, making you frown and lean back: "Excuse me."
Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
And this house just ain't no home
Anytime she goes away
And with that, you got up and stormed away, leaving Joel wanting, aching and ashamed.
Anytime she goes away
Anytime she goes away
Anytime she goes away

Lucas (mafia leader) x Reader (female)
A/N: I had this thought for days now and was like, ya know, just let it out. This is my first NCT (?) WayV (?) fanfic? Scenario? Yea XD For those who have read my past fanfics/scenarios, you know how horrible I am in explaining XD but yea, essentially I just imagine that you, the reader are a uni student whilst Lucas is part of the NCT mafia, "leader" of the WayV unit (I know Kun is technically the leader, but just for the sake of the story), okie, leggo
Sighing in defeat, you gathered all your books, stationery and some clothing before sneakily going out of your dorm and to your boyfriend's apartment since he gave you the spare key, saying that it was for emergencies or whenever you wanted to come over.
After texting Lucas that you were heading to his apartment, you went to grab a cab and head there. Truth be told, you never really went there and only got the address from Lucas. Which is why upon arriving, your jaw nearly dropped when you saw his apartment; even making sure whether the address Lucas gave last time was the exact one and making a mental note to yourself to look up things beforehand.
Upon arriving, you felt like you just came from the countryside to the big city. You went to the front desk and inform them who were you looking for, handing in your ID card and was immediately directed to the elevator, one of the securities pressing the highest floor of the elevator and left you in the elevator on your own.
Just when you thought that it couldn't get any fancier, the minute you stepped out of the elevator, you were amazed at the decor and the fact that there was only one door made it even grander. Taking out the key Lucas gave you, you were actually hoping that it wasn't the correct one and Lucas just sent you the wrong address but as it turns out, the key fits and you took a deep breath, walking into the room.
But on Lucas' side, he actually didn't receive your text message. So, the second he heard someone coming into his suite, he was already reaching for his gun because he wasn't really expecting anyone to come. But as soon as he heard your signature nervous voice, he felt relieved but worried at the same time. Did something happen to you?
"Lucas? Ar-are you in here? The people at the front desk just directed me here. I uh sent you a text" you called out
"I'm here sweetheart. Now, what brings you here at this late hour? Is there anyone I should be concern with?" Lucas stated, coming out of his bedroom
"Huh? Wow. I mean, no. Sorry, it's my first time here. I uh, I was just wondering if I could stay for the night. The dorm was so loud that I couldn't study nor sleep" you admitted, trying to avoid eye contact with Lucas, thinking that it was a lame excuse to come over
"Of course you can. I gave you the spare key for a reason, didn't I? Uh, sorry about the mess and all. I didn't expect you to come. I didn't receive any messages. C'mere sweetheart" Lucas mentioned, giving a hand motion for you to go to him
"Really?! I could've sworn I...(looks at your phone) I forgot to click the send button" you sighed, hitting your head as you went over to Lucas
"Hey, hey. Don't do that. You'll hurt your brain even more. No harm sweetheart. My place is yours. Come. I'll order some McDonalds as well if you'd like" Lucas cooed, bringing you into his office
"Damn. Two desktops?! Bro and this processor is the latest one?!" you commented, placing your bag down and immediately inspecting his desk
"Sometimes I play some games with the guys. Feel free to use it if you'd like. Lemon tea or coke?" Lucas asked, scrolling through his phone
"Lemon tea, no ice. It's worth the money better. Are you sure I can study here? Am I not disturbing you?" you questioned, sitting on the chair
"Not at all, sweetheart. It's almost 10pm. I'm done with work. You're free to use my computer. I've ordered your favourites already. I'm going to go for a shower for a bit. Feel free to turn on some music as well, alright? And please don't study for too long. I worry you'll hurt that gorgeous head of yours" Lucas chuckled, kissing your forehead before leaving you in his study room
After settling, putting on some music with your account (which was already in Lucas' Spotify), you grabbed your books and stationery then started to study for your finals. In the midst of it, you heard Lucas coming in with McDonalds; wearing a plain T-shirt and sweats.
Because there was only one chair in his office, with your consent, Lucas placed you on his lap as he was feeding you McDonalds whilst scrolling through his phone, occasionally leaning his head on your back as he does so.
After finishing the food, Lucas was about to get up and cleaned up so you could study a bit better since he knew you didn't like a messy space but when he felt your head slightly leaning backwards, he questioned whether you were already sleepy or not.
"What's wrong love? Tired?" Lucas murmured as he placed his chin on your neck, wrapping his long arms around your waist
"Huh? Oh? Sorry. I didn't realise I was leaning back" you yawned, scrubbing your eyes but Lucas stopped the motion
"Don't. Your eyes will get irritated. I think it's about time you sleep, hmm?" Lucas commented, tucking a hair behind your ear as he kissed the side of your cheek
"Hmm. I guess so" you sighed, leaning onto Lucas's chest
"Alright princess, let me just shut everything off. Kay, let's go to bed" Lucas chuckled, carrying your small figure in his arms and tucking you into his bed before going to the other side of the bed
The next morning, you were woken up by the sound of your phone's alarm but just stayed in bed whilst scrolling through your phone until you realised that you had exams that starts in 45 minutes. Immediately, you got up and went back to the study room to grab your clothes, without even calling out to Lucas and head to the bathroom to get ready.
After getting ready, you were so ready to rush out the door and call a cab until Lucas finally called out to you. Once you told him that your exam was starting in literally 15 minutes, he just chuckled and told you that he'll drive you there; which was a first since all this time, you guys just have dates near your campus since your dorm had strict rules and Lucas would just walk you there (A/N: how you guys met is a story for next time, lol).
After packing some food for you, Lucas grabbed his car keys in one hand and your hand in the other, making your way down to the parking lot where your jaw also almost dropped again since the car Lucas owned is probably enough to pay your whole entire undergraduate life.
Whilst in the car, Lucas told you to eat so you wouldn't be hungry during the exam. He also mentioned that he'll come to pick you up to celebrate finishing your finals since he knew that you've been stressing over this last final for weeks; saying that he'll treat you out.
Once you've arrived, Lucas pulled you to give a slight peck on your forehead, encouraging you to do well in your finals and that he'll see you right after you're done. You smiled and thank him. Getting out of the car, you saw nearly the whole campus that was by the front gate staring at you; even your friends were stunned before rushing to you, managing to get a glimpse at Lucas who just smiled before leaving.
"Gurl!! I knew your boyfriend was hot, but well off? You definitely hit the jackpot!!" one of your friends blurted
"Sis!! Can we save the conversation for later? I need to get this exam over with first" you bargained
"Okay, okay, good luck with your exams!! I'll see you later!!" your friend exclaimed as you went to your exam hall
Thankfully, the exam wasn't as hard as you'd thought. You didn't know if it's because Lucas actually helped you study since he actually knew the subject or something else but you were glad to finally be done with it. After the exam, you got a text from Lucas, saying that he'll be running a bit late which you didn't mind. Your friend, who was also done with her exam, came to your exam hall and didn't spare a second before plastering with all sorts of questions.
Asking you where you've been the night before since you weren't at your dorm; and when you told her you were at Lucas' place, she squealed, asking if you guys did anything spicy which you immediately cut her off, saying that you just went there to study because the rooms near yours were getting too loud and rowdy.
You also explained how kind and caring Lucas was; despite the amount of work he had to deal with, he was still soft when it came to you. Ordering your favourites from McDonalds, letting you just barged into his apartment whenever and even using whatever he had; hearing this, all your friend can do was just squeal, saying that Lucas was the perfect boyfriend.
And right on cue, Lucas texted you saying that he's almost at the front gate. Your friend saw your smile and teased the heck out of you before letting you off just because she supported your relationship; knowing that you had a rough past and it was nice to finally see you happy with someone; someone that genuinely cares about you.
But of course, life ain't that easy. Because just as you were skidding along the halls to the front gate, you accidentally bumped into someone and dropped your phone. You immediately apologised about to get your phone when the person you bumped into stepped on your phone. Looking up, you met with the campus' miss popular with her boyfriend.
"Can you please let go. I really have to go now" you sighed, looking up
"Can't your boyfriend get you another one? Oh wait, is he the one that you're meeting? Honestly, I dunno what he sees in you. Oh wait, I think I do. He's probably just in it to play around or probably did it because of a bet" the girl scoffed but you were just not having it and shoved her feet off, nearly falling if it weren't for her boyfriend being there
After getting your phone, you were about to make a run for it before she grabbed your hair, pulling you back and making you fall; calling you names and all. When you got back to your feet again, she nearly slapped you when you got ahold of her hand about to push her back when her boyfriend came and took your hand, twisting it behind your back, allowing an opening for her to get a good punch out of you.
It felt like forever since you were trapped between the two "bullies" of your campus and for Lucas, it meant something was wrong. It's been almost 30 minutes since he arrived and called you but there was no answer at all. Frustrated, he called Winwin to track your phone as he went in to find you; thinking that you were held captive by one of NCT's enemy.
When he did see you, he felt a slight relief that it wasn't one of NCT's enemy but he was still very much pissed at the sight. When the girl was about to hit you for like the 15th time, Lucas grabbed ahold of her arm, throwing her to the floor before looking at her boyfriend who turns out to be one of the bartenders in one of NCT's bars.
"B-boss..." the man stammered, letting go of your hand as you almost dropped if it weren't for Lucas catching you
"You better come to work tonight. We'll have a lil discussion about respect? Hmm? Make sure everyone comes. Or I'll just have to report Taeyong about this" Lucas growled, making the man cowered in fear
"N-no sir. Everyone will come tonight" the man stuttered as Lucas stood up, holding your figure firmly in his arms
"Good. Wouldn't want to make a big deal out of this hmm? Oh, and do bring your girlfriend while I take mine to treat the wounds you both caused" Lucas scoffed, bringing you out of the campus
Once you've reached his car, he gently placed you and put your seatbelt on before going to the driver's seat. Once he was in, he called Kun, telling him what happened and that he's planning to have a meeting later tonight in the bar. After the call, Lucas took your hand in his, stroking your knuckles as he drove back to his apartment.
Upon arriving, he helped you get out of the car and into his apartment. Inside, he brought you to his room before going to the bathroom and grabbing some medicine for your bruised face and cut on the lips. Lucas treated all your wounds as gently as possible, worrying that he might accidentally hurt you, treating you as if you're as fragile as an egg.
After he was done, he threw all the cotton buds and ordered some food for the both of you; knowing that you will tell him whenever you're ready. He put his hoodie onto you before bringing you to the living room to cuddle and just watch the whole day. Occasionally, food will come and it was all from your favourite restaurants.
After the next 5th Disney movie ended, you told Lucas that you wanted to take a shower and he told you that you can borrow any of his clothes. He even said that he'll run you a bath but you told him that you were just going to take a light shower which Lucas didn't mind. Whilst you were showering, Lucas prepared a T-shirt and shorts along with the hoodie you were just wearing.
After your shower and putting on the clothes Lucas prepared, Lucas came and redid the medicine on your wounds before going back to watching some heart-warming movies on the bed. Feeling better, you decided to tell Lucas what happened and whilst it seemed that he was calm, his mind was off wondering the endless possibilities of teaching the two that harm you; whether it'd be physically or mentally.
Either way, Lucas listened to all your rambles, wrapping his arm around your shoulder, leaning you onto his chest, giving kisses on your forehead, cheeks and occasionally your neck, chuckling when he saw you flustered; basically making you 10x better, treating you like a queen up until you fell asleep.
When you did fall asleep, he gently tucked you into bed, kissing your forehead, smiling at your sleeping figure before leaving the room to the bar where he was more than ready to make the two-person harmed you suffer; not forgetting to ask Hendery and Yangyang to come over to watch over you.
"Sleep tight sweetheart. I'll be back before you know it, alright? No one treats my queen like trash and gets away with it" Lucas mumbled, kissing your forehead as he left as quietly as possible
and let's just say that everyone in the bar that night experienced a side of Lucas that no one would like to see or hear ever again.
"Try and lay a finger on her again, I won't be so nice next time" Lucas scoffed, seeing all the staff looked down, especially the two-person who hurt you
A/N: I hope that this was alright but yea, this fanfic has been stuck in my head for days

kise breaking up with fem s/o like maybe he just used her or it was a bet or idk (yaaas angst but idk if you could make a HEA work at the end?? but yeah :P) scenario pls thank youu ❤️❤️
The DRAMA lmaooo
I really like writing for Kise ngl so it’s kinda long. I hope you like this :) x
Scenario: Kise using and breaking up with a fem! s/o
Kise Ryouta likes playing games. Basketball, football, tennis— you name it, he’s probably played it. But things like sports take a long time to hone enough skills to thoroughly enjoy it. So what does Kise do when he’s in the need for a quick bit of fun? Fool around with girls’ hearts, of course.
Kise’s track record with girls has not been the best. In fact, the track record is so incredibly long that it would take a week to get through it all. Despite this, he gets girls falling for him time and time again because of his looks. It’s quite pathetic to him really. At this point, he’s just seeing how far he can go with this. The moment he gets bored with the girl he’s with, he calls it quits and moves on to the next. Toying with their feelings over and over.
You were fully aware of this. But for some reason, you thought you were different. No one could blame you to be fair. There’s something charming about Kise that no one could resist.
Prior to your relationship, you and Kise were actually quite close as far as classmates went. He was paired as your lab partner for Chemistry and he also sat behind you for Math so it was inevitable that you had to communicate. He’d tell you all about basketball and all his endeavours with other girls and you’d just listen whilst trying to make sure he didn’t cause any chemicals to explode (it was quite ridiculous how often this nearly happened).
“So, Y/N, what’s your deal?” He asked you in the middle of a practical activity one day.
“My deal?” You repeated in a questioning tone, taking your eyes off of your notes to look at him in confusion.
“You know, I’m always the one sharing. Tell me about yourself. Do you have a boyfriend?” he asked you.
You did your best to hold back a laugh so that you didn’t seem pathetic in front of your crush. “No, I don’t,” you answered simply.
“Seriously? When did your last relationship end?” he asked, getting way too comfortable with the questions.
“I’m not sure. Maybe a year ago?” you replied, hoping this conversation would end because it was embarrassing on your part.
“A year?!” Kise exclaimed far too loud for your comfort.
“Geez let the whole school know, why don’t you?” You snapped, a tint of pink rising in your cheeks as you looked around nervously.
“Well that’s just simply wrong. Someone as cute as you shouldn’t be single for that long,” Kise said smoothly, catching you off guard as your cheeks got even brighter.
“Hm, sure,” you muttered in a sarcastic tone as you did your best not to leap in joy at the fact that he called you cute.
“No, I’m serious. Let me take you out on a date,” Kise said with his award winning smile.
You felt like your heart was going to beat right out of your chest and lay limp on the table in front of you. “Ha ha very funny. As if you even like me like that,” you said, maintaining your cool and logical thinking.
Kise placed his hand on top of yours, which was resting on the table, the sudden warmth sending your mind into a frenzy as you looked at him with concern. “Well I’ve actually liked you for a while now. I was kind of just working up the courage to actually ask you out,” he said, the sweetness of his words paired with the way his thumb grazed over the back of your palm swaying your judgement.
You took a deep breath in attempt to collect your thoughts. You had to be realistic here. You didn’t want to end up like those other girls he talked about. “You’ve practically gone around the whole school. What makes me so different to the other people you’ve gone out with?” you said, hating how harsh you sounded.
Kise seemed to be impressed by your response. It wasn’t often that girls would question him like this. However, it just make him smile with joy. He liked a challenge; you would be adding good fun to Kise’s game.
“I’m not sure. Something about you makes you so easy to talk to. You should know— after all, you know so much about me at this point when I barely know anything about you,” Kise said before tightening his grip on your hand. “We’d work well as a couple, don’t you think?”
You tried to think it over, but your mind was far too blown away with this information that you couldn’t even form a coherent thought. Every part of you screamed at you to say yes, but you were still hesitant. You didn’t want to end up getting hurt. “Could you give me some time to think about it?” You asked, noticing Kise’s smile falter a bit.
Hearing that answer made him ecstatic though. It had been a while since someone seemed to be uninterested. It just meant that he could try harder and improve his game. Which is exactly what he did. He gave you a few days to think about it, but he certainly didn’t sit idle and wait around for a response. He’d send you texts every now and then, engage in flirty conversations with you during class, and even buy you chocolates in attempt to get you to say yes.
It worked though. In the end, you couldn’t say no to Kise Ryouta.
To you, it seemed like he liked being around you. He was always giggly and cheery and your relationship seemed to be lasting longer than the average length of Kise’s past relationships. Maybe you were the one who could finally tie him down.
“Hey there, cutie,” Kise smiled at you as he walked into the classroom of your after-school club one evening.
As usual, the supervisor was not around when Kise entered so he took his liberty in placing a peck on your lips as a way to greet you. A few of his exes were a part of your club and they’d always roll their eyes at the act, but you didn’t pay too much attention to it. “Hi Ryouta,” you’d reply softly once he pulled away, though his hand would remain on your waist.
“Ready to go?” He asked.
“Err,” your eyes scanned your area to see if you’d left any of your belongings. “Yep, all good,” you nodded, letting him lead the way out as you waved a quick goodbye to your friends.
“So, how was your practice?” you asked him as you walked across the school campus towards the gates.
“It was fine. Nothing new. You should come watch me practice, it’d be much more fun with you there,” he smiled, swinging his arm around your shoulder and causing you to lose your balance for a moment.
You couldn’t help but giggle at the act. You were now pressed against the side of his body as you walked, and the scent of his sweet cologne was stronger than ever. “You know I would if I could,” you replied.
“I like having you there to cheer me on. Plus I won’t miss you during practice then,” Kise said, causing you to blush. He’d used this line on countless other girls before and it always worked. It was fun to watch how you’d all just wrap around his finger so simply.
“God that’s so cheesy,” you said, averting your gaze out of embarrassment.
“Well it’s true,” Kise responded. He didn’t get that kind of response often but it was still clear as day that you enjoyed it.
Kise placed a kiss on the top of your head as you two continued to walk and talk about your days. This was how it always was with Kise. He’d pick you up after school and walk you home, saying goodbye to you with a rather passionate kiss.
Every now and then, Kise would be left home alone, so he’d call you over. And who were you to say no spending time like that with Kise? You had to admit, Kise knew what he was doing. You were never left unsatisfied. Surprisingly to Kise, he actually enjoyed this time you spent together more than he did with most other girls. He didn’t think too much of it though because he had made up his mind about you. You were just another one of his little games.
A few weeks into the relationship, you had started feeling more comfortable with your relationship with Kise. In fact, most of the school had begun to identify you two as a couple. Everything seemed to be going smoothly with him though, so you weren’t all too worried about that because you genuinely did feel like there was something between you two.
One Friday evening though, he picked you up after school with a smile like he always would. The two of you liked to visit a nearby cafe after school on Fridays so that’s where you were headed. He listened to you talk about your day though he seemed to be a little less responsive than usual.
“Hey Ryouta, is something wrong?” you asked him after you two finally settled down at the cafe after placing your orders.
“I know this is kind of sudden, but can I be honest for a moment?” Kise asked, a discomforted expression sitting upon his face.
“Of course, you can tell me anything,” you nodded, putting a hand over his reassuringly as a waitress placed his hot chocolate and your strawberry milkshake on the table.
“These past few weeks with you have been amazing,” Kise began. He always hated this part— it was such a pain. “And you’re really a cool person.”
“Aw thank you. That’s so sweet of you,” you smiled as he took a sip of his beverage.
“But I don’t think that this is going to work out between us, Y/N,” he said, making your heart sink.
“What?” you said hoarsely, unable to believe your ears.
“I think we should break up,” he reiterated.
You struggled to fight back your tears as your throat felt as though it was closing up. You should’ve known this would happen. “I don’t understand. What went wrong?”
“Y/N, you’re amazing and I feel like you probably deserve better than me,” Kise said. He’d used this line many times before too. However, a small part of him was genuine about it this time.
“Why do I feel like you’re lying to me?” You said, thinking out loud.
Kise was taken aback by your response. Did you see through him? “Lying to you? About what?”
“About why you’re breaking up with me. Someone like you wouldn’t think that there’s anyone ‘better’. So what is it? Is there someone else?” you couldn’t believe how blunt you were being. Your mind was moving too fast for you to process what was even going on.
Kise hesitated for a moment. He didn’t have to tell you the truth. He could easily lie his way out of this. Make up any other reason that isn’t the truth to spare your feelings. How could he say that he’s bored of playing around with you in a nice way? “I never actually wanted to be with you,” he said, words flying out of his mouth as if he drank a truth potion.
“Excuse me?” You said, appalled by what you were hearing.
“I mean, I was using you— wait no, I was just messing around.” Kise was a stuttering mess. Why was he saying this stuff? Why was he nervous to hurt your feelings? Why couldn’t you have just accepted that he wanted to break up easily like everyone else?
“You were using me?” You repeated his words, your sadness slowly turning into anger. “So was I just another fling of yours?”
“No,” Kise replied immediately. What was he saying? Yes you were.
“No?”
“I mean, yes you were. I was just bored and decided to date you for fun,” Kise said honestly, unable to even look at you in the face.
“So it’s true then. I’m just another one of your throwaway girls?”
“Yes,” Kise said. His eyes looked down in shame. Why was he mad at himself?
“You’re such an asshole!” You yelled, throwing your milkshake into his face, gaining the attention of everyone at that cafe. “Never talk to me again.”
You stormed out of the cafe, wiping the tears away from your eyes as you did so. Kise was left sticky, soaking and dumbfounded. This was certainly a first. He grabbed a few tissues to wipe the drink off of himself, but it was no use, he was still visibly covered in it. He quickly left the cafe too after apologising to the workers for causing a scene. He felt so embarrassed. Not once did he ever feel so hurt after a break up.
“Ugh what a bitch,” he muttered to himself as he walked home all sticky. Why was that so incredibly difficult? If anything, he was glad you told him not to talk to you again because he was equally mad at you for putting him on the spot like that.
When he got home, he immediately took a shower and tossed his clothes in the laundry basket. Once he was finally clean, he landed on his bed with a tired sigh, beginning to go through his phone like he usually would when he gets back from school. He noticed that you had blocked him on all social media, so there was no way of contacting you— not that he wanted to anyways.
He spent the rest of his weekend lazing around and going out with his friends like he usually would. He tried to get a fresh start and get the numbers of a few cute girls he saw, but for some reason all he could think about was you. He’d ask for a girl’s number and they were more than compliant, no witty comments like you would do. He’d go to the mall with his friends and remember which stores you liked to shop at. Hell, he couldn’t even have peace in his own bedroom because he’d remember you laying there with him. Countless other girls have been on this bed so why were you the one that stuck?
Kise did his best to avoid you at school. It wasn’t all that hard since you were doing the same. You inevitably had to work with him during Chemistry, but you could do so with minimal words exchanged.
A few weeks went by and Kise still couldn’t get you out of his mind. He tried going out with other girls but they never kept Kise’s attention long enough for him to forget about you. There were even times where he’d almost call them by your name. It was getting pathetic at this point. Maybe he did actually like you.
Kise’s mind entertained this thought for a while and it was slowly picking him apart. It even began to affect his performance at basketball because his mind was so occupied with the thought of being in an actual relationship with you. He was beginning to grow tired of running extra laps as a punishment for not being focused.
What made you so different? Kise couldn’t figure it out no matter how hard he tried. Perhaps that milkshake to the face woke him up. No other girl would dare do that to him. We he really being swayed by the fact that you threw a milkshake at him?
Eventually he gave up trying to figure it out. However he did come to a conclusion. He wanted to be with you. For real this time.
He managed to run into you after school one day. After dating you, he managed to memorise your schedule so finding you wasn’t too much of an issue for him. “Hey Y/N, can we talk?” Kise said.
Hearing his voice immediately made you turn on your heel and attempt to walk away as fast as you could. It was no use though, Kise quickly caught up to you and stopped you my grabbing onto your wrist.
“What the hell do you want?” You snapped.
“I wanted to say that I was sorry for using you like that,” Kise replied, pushing away his pride.
“What do you want me to say? That it’s okay that you wasted my time?” You retorted, trying to wiggle your wrist away from Kise’s hold.
“I genuinely am sorry. Something about you made it so that you never left my mind and now I’m trying to change, I just don’t know where to start,” Kise explained. “How do I get you to forgive me?”
“You can’t. Just leave me alone, why don’t you?” You said, finally breaking away from his grasp and walking away before he could bring you to tears again.
Kise ran after you once more. “Y/N, please. I really like you. I want to date you— for real this time,” he pleaded.
You finally stopped in your tracks. You stared at him with the coldest expression your face had ever worn. “Are you insane? What kind of desperate idiot do you take me to be to think that I’d agree to going out with you again?” you said, raising your voice.
“I don’t know what more I can say except that I’m sorry about before. I genuinely do like you, Y/N. I haven’t been able to get you off my mind since we broke up. Ask any girl I’ve dated and I can assure you that I’ve never backtracked like this before,” Kise said, noticing tears of frustration beginning to well up in your eyes.
If you were being honest, you really wanted to believe that he liked you. The time you spent together wouldn’t have felt like a waste if that were the case. However it still hurt. And you didn’t want to be hurt like that again. “I don’t know, Kise. How can I be sure that you’re not lying to me again?” You said.
“I can’t promise that I won’t hurt you again, but I can promise that I won’t lie. If I lie, I’ll buy you as many milkshakes as you want to throw at me— you can hold me to that.”
You couldn’t help but laugh at the ridiculousness of his promise, putting a smile on Kise’s face as well. You took a moment to think about it before finally letting out a sigh, “Fine, I’ll give you another shot. But one lie and you’re buying me ten milkshakes to throw at you,” you warned.
Kise’s heart filled with glee. He couldn’t remember the last time someone made him feel like this. He was so elated that he nearly started skipping down the pavement. “Oh my god thank you,” he said, pulling you into the tightest hug ever. “I’ll treat you right this time, Y/N-cchi.”
