Ora, my little protagonist, is selectively mute!

Ora and the Rift in Time is a story that I daydream about turning into a game, so they would be a silent protagonist. One of the very choices Ora comes across is obtaining a book of sign language to learn or not.

Reading it opens more dialogue options. Choosing not to leads to bits where your opponent waits for Ora to respond but nothing happens, and that turns everything into an awkward one-sided monologue.

And their pronouns are they/them.

I am weak for pure characters going darkside. You know what, Luigi deserves to fck sht up as a treat. But oooh also the angst cause I can't imagine what poor Mario would feel seeing Luigi become different, meaner, less restrained, more comfortable with hurting others even if it's at first against those being rude and dismissive of him; just at first Luigi standing up for himself. But then it slowly starts escalating, especially in battle with Luigi starting to enjoy chaos. Maybe Luigi even refuses and gets angry at Mario, despite him being his beloved older twin. And Mario doesn't know what to do especially if Luigi is getting a taste for this sort of power and how strong it makes him feel. Like how can Mario save Luigi from himself @-@

an AU that tries to follow the canon of rain world in it's own unique way, creating new landscapes, added backgrounds that weren't there in rain world, new characters, and overall headcanons galore!

The AU is heavily inspired by things like Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time and Omori! Character refs and information below!

The premise of the au is about Survivor and Monk being contacted by a familiar white iterator from the void, who sends them on a mission to fix this world before things get messy with the landscapes they stand on shifting from times ahead and before, the memories they gained being wiped from them completely, and everything being set back to the very beginning. Their goal is to close time rifts causing this calamity, with the help of the Echos trapped inside these rifts, not only will they gain power to help the world but also gain memory the player never got to see... Will they be doomed to repeat this loop again due to their own problems? Or will they stop it all in time, before they have to repeat it all over again? They are all stuck here for their flaws, much like the echoes before them... maybe it is possible to break the cycle for once...? Meet the Main Cast!:

"Seth" aka The Survivor

"Still full of curiosity, they are a sucker for nature much like their sibling. They are deeply curious about nature and wants to explore the world for what it has to offer. Their thoughts cannot be trusted however, despite it being full of curiosity, it is also full of doubt and bad faith after bring them down and keeping them rather depressed. They are numbed by the cruelty of this world, often not showing their emotions due to feeling static. It makes it hard to understand what's going on with them when they don't show a lot that's going on inside. However, they try their best to see a brighter future. Flourishing their way through this world with kindness has it's ups and downs however, we'll just have to see how they take it." They can be naive and foolish, they aren't super smart but they try their hardest... though sometimes they push themselves a little too hard. Due to the incident with Seth, they HATE being separated from him and suffers from separation anxiety. "Grant" aka The Gourmand

Age: 25 Likes: Mold Slime (Loves it so much that 80% of their body is made OF it!... wait that's probably really unhealthy- uhhh-), taking care of slugpups, crafting handy tools, hugging, and art Dislikes: People hurting their tribe, not eating for a period of time, seeing others sad, letting their craving/urges win. "One of the slugcat tribe's greatest warriors and excellent crafter, only thing holding them back from their truest peak is their huge appetite." "Carefree and always willing to protect those they love most. They be a bit slow but they are a lovable guy all around! They often get hungry due to them consuming a lot of mold slime, needing more food to feed their belly and having a shift in mind if they don't get food right away, they often eat other people's food without realizing it. This becomes a problem when people need to save food, it's a huge struggle for them to control these new found urges and often gets disappointed in themselves for letting those urges win. Despite this, they make up for it by trying to be a good role model and inspiration for people. They aren't the actual leader of the slugcats, however, they do take role as leader when the current leader is dead (unlikely but can happen) or they need to split up for expeditions. "Asher"/"Ashley" The Artificer

Age: 20 Likes: Taking care of slugpups and baby scavs, when people do their job, quiet, listening to music, combat, scav boxing matches that take place every Wednesday night (they like watching them instead of being in them cuz they don't trust themselves with fighting people as they get, rough, really rough.) Dislikes: Loud noises, Seeing slugpups get hurt, leeches, water fuck water FUCK WATER FUCK WATER-, having breathing problems, smoke, being reminded of their mistakes, having to get violent. "A strict but fair ruler to the scavengers, swore to make sure scavs don't dare try and step out of line with slugcats ever again. Despite their rage and violent past, they have calmed down and learned that taking on this role (the role the old ruler barely did right) would be a good change in the slugcat race." "Ash often gets a bit annoyed when people step out of line, but luckily they don't expect people to be perfect, they will NOT give slack to people that step out of line on purpose. They are more mature and parent like when it comes to ruling over the scavs, at first they saw them as freaks, but they grew on them after awhile and treated every single scav as if they were their own, even if they don't show it, they appreciate their hard work. They can be demanding but they would never ask anyone to do something dangerous unless they knew they could handle it. They can be pessimistic, most of the time feeling down due to thoughts, that doesn't make them less of a fighter however. They are a combat warrior when it comes to fighting, just because they got rid of their violent ways to the scavs... doesn't mean they got rid of it for the other creatures like vultures, lizards, and centipedes. "Ruffles"/"WD (Water Dancer)" aka The Rivulet

Age: 18 Likes: Collecting pearls with Seth, Swimming, relaxing and chilling with LTTM, other fishes, pretty lights. Dislikes: Huge waves, being Pressured, being on a deadline, being made fun of, getting startled by people, rain, and the rot. "Being on the run for awhile, they were sent out by chasing wind to deliver a data pearl to any surviving iterators out there. Their anxiety is the key to their speed as they rush towards their destination out of fear alone." "Ruffles gets startled pretty easily, though their reaction is oddly... delayed. They often have trouble controlling their vocal volume when they are not relaxed, often getting shaky and anxious when put on the spot or is the center of attention... but when they are relaxed and calm, they really open up to be a fun loving slugcat! They feel they need to get things done quickly due to the events that happened with trying to GET to shoreline, that and they think people might get disappointed in them if they don't do it quick enough. This results in them getting more anxious and things could easily fall apart if people don't catch up. They can be clumsy but makes up for it by having fast reflexes, they almost drop your birthday cake? Fear not as they will do their DAMNEST to have that birthday cake be perfectly fine! They see LTTM as their best friend, often feeling relaxed and comfortable around her, LTTM is the only time where Ruffles feels safe... other than their friends of course." Relationship Chart:

"Sii07" aka The Spearmaster

Age: 19 Likes: Challenging themselves, having a goal and completing it, drawing/painting, SRS... and warm places. Dislikes: Failing a goal, not having a purpose, being bored, people getting in their way, and vultures. "A message slug created by Seven Red Suns that fulfilled their purpose... but found themselves in an unsatisfying life after their loss. They find new albeit, risky and hurtful adventures to challenge themselves so they can feel they have purpose... or at least try to think they do."

"Sii has a knack for putting themselves in dangerous expeditions, resulting in them getting hurt often... but they feel completely numb to it all. They set too ambitious goals with only satisfaction as their reward. It takes a lot to get them to stop trying to do dangerous expeditions but when they do stop even if for a bit, they can be a chill and almost inspiring! They are a pretty good critic too when it comes to art and combat, even though they can be harsh whenever it's negative, they want people to improve upon their skills... It seems pointless to them to try and teach people things... for now at least. They are highly determined, always preserving no matter what, this can be a good... and bad thing. They can get bored pretty easily so they like to doodle or draw full on pieces of art for however long they feel like it, it's much rarer nowadays... but when you get to see it, it's beautiful." "Sage" aka The Saint

Age: 21 Likes: Uhh... Guiding people to the right path...? They didn't really... fill this out. Dislikes: They don't like meat... that's pretty much all I could gather. "Created by-" what?... would you rather that be private? You sure there are people already kno- Okay, okay. We can skip that part. "They set up to help people in need, and be of a sort of guide for Seth and Manny on their quest to fix this big problem... again." "A pacifistic being whom aims to help others in need of guidance. Although their perfectionist nature holds them back from being happy with their results often times. They do their best to support Seth and Manny in their adventure, testing their new found powers and helping them be better people. They have a tendency to not let people in their personal life... but sometimes, just sometimes, people can gain their trust. They are highly mysterious and it's hard to tell if they mean well or not... but they haven't hurt anyone so far and they seem to want to help people with their calm and on form approach." I just found this blog and this is so so cool!! I love the graphics and omigosh everything seems so very well done?? I'm honest.y surprised I hadn't found this sooner. I just wanted to ask about the details of the game: if you're planning on releasing it, what the gameplay would be, and anything else you'd like to share!

I've already answered the question a few times, but no problem 👍. In theory I would release it for the PC, the only problem is that I have little interest in messing with Disney's lawyers, which is why a release is pretty unlikely.

The game itself is a mix of Banjo Kazooie and Simpsons Hit and Run with the main theme: Easter egg hunt.

The game currently has:

-1 main story

-5 side quests

-1600 coins (1200 large and 400 small)

-6 crystals

-6 escaped animals

-6 time rifts (large jump and run levels)

-16 star pieces

-30 Easter eggs (14 large, 14 small, 2 per quest)

-Shrinking/Growing Feature

-Black Light Feature

-Drivable Golf Cart

-Rocket Boots

-150 NPCs (you can have a conversation with each one)

-Tons of real Easter eggs (Zelda, Mario, Supernatural, Doctor Who, Lucifer, Portal, Hazbin Hotel, Bioshock and much more)

-Day/Night System (NPCs also have a Day/Night-Cycle)

-Weather System

-There are no loading times apart from loading the game

-Fast Travel System

-Code System

-Number/Color puzzles and much more

I have now played the game 7 times to 100% myself for testing and bug fixing (on average I need 6 hours for a 100% run) and have not had a single crash in the whole time 😁 (For your information: During this time I only talk to the quest NPCs and don't look for Easter eggs etc. and I know where 100% of all items are) The whole game will probably have about 14-18 hours of playing time, so my 6 hours can be considered more as speedrun time.

FPS run between 45-60 FPS, depending on the time of day, position of the sun and number of items collected in the game (the more coins are collected and are no longer visible in the game, the better the FPS becomes until it is almost always at 60 FPS). Apart from that, pretty much all locations from Gravity Falls are included, many sounds and co from the series itself and Dipper has his first own journal.

After Damien moved in with Huxley he once woke up at like 2am to get a glass of water and saw FL hunched over sucking the frosting off of the mini cupcakes Huxley buys and chugging milk out of the container, their eyes were glowing in the dark and there was a ton of containers on the floor.

Damien went back to sleep without saying a word. When he woke up all traces of FL being in the house were gone and they don’t recall the night ever happening. No one believes him.

The only reference to the night happening is that all the snacks he saw FL eating were gone.

Lasko believes him but FL won’t let him tell Damien he believes him (it has happened to Lasko too and that’s why he buys offbrand).

The Chaos Heart

Once summoned with the false marriage of Bowser and Peach, it created an interdimensional rift known as The Void, which would eventually engulf all dimensions. The Chaos Heart can only be destroyed by either killing the controller, or with the concentrated power of love embodied by the Purity Heart. As the Chaos Heart empowers its controller to the point of invincibility, the Pure Hearts are necessary to overcome it.

However, despite Count Bleck's defeat, the Chaos Heart remained active. At this point, Dimentio appeared and revealed that he had taken control of the Chaos Heart, planning to use its power to remake the universe in his image. Along with a brainwashed Luigi, Dimentio merges with the Chaos Heart in order to form Super Dimentio - since Luigi was the ideal host for the Chaos Heart, its power was magnified to far greater proportions than the power Count Bleck had wielded. As he shrugged off the heroes' attacks, Super Dimentio used his new powers to accelerate The Void's expansion, rapidly consuming all worlds.

The three remaining heroes use the Pure Hearts to negate much of Super Dimentio's Chaos Heart-derived power, allowing them to defeat him and free Luigi. Although Dimentio expires soon after, his last act is to imbue a "shadow of his power" into the Chaos Heart, preventing it from disappearing long enough to complete the destruction of the universe.

To stop the cataclysm once and for all, Count Bleck and Tippi return to Castle Bleck's chapel, the very spot where the former first created the Chaos Heart. With the dark artifact floating between them, the long-lost lovers finally exchanged vows, reforming the Pure Hearts one last time. As Count Bleck and Tippi reaffirmed their everlasting love for each other, the Pure Hearts encircled the Chaos Heart and united into the Purity Heart, resulting in the annihilation of the Chaos Heart, the sealing of The Void, and the return of all the dimensions it destroyed.

Theory time!: All what happened in Spm, must have it the contrary. The Light Prognosticus and the Pure Hearts were written to counter the Dark Prognosticus and the Chaos Heart. Everything that is written on the LP is the opposite of the DP and vice versa. Ok? NOW, Mario is the first hero, and the legendary hero who will save all the dimensions. AND, if we realize, Mario and Luigi look like contraries: one is brave, the other is fearful, one is short, the other is tall, okay? That's why Luigi was the perfect host for the Chaos heart, because he is the counter of Mario. Each book has a perfect host for their part of the prophecy. But, in the end, the light always wins over the darkness. Although, maybe, without darkness, the consequences would be disastrous... That is why there must always be balance..

Gameplay, characters, story, everything. It all passed far beyond my expectations! Even when I was grinding, I didn’t feel like I was grinding, I felt like someone trying to help Hyrule, which was great

Zelda herself is at LEAST my second favorite Zelda ever. I think she might be tied with Tetra for first place, which is saying something with me. Zelda/Echo is just so cool, but so feminine and kind! I loved collecting different outfits and accessories and then swarming monsters with a wolf pack XD

I thought the last dungeon/Null fights were great, too. Not too long since you can’t save, but still some good puzzles that challenge everything you’ve learned in the game. And all the final battles I’ve played in LoZ where both Link and Zelda fight at the same time have been EPIC

and I love all the attention to detail, especially how you can learn a ton about Link/Rift. He’s another amazing Link! I hc that he was quiet before he lost his voice, but after EoW, he’s a complete and adorable chatterbox. And Lueberry more or less adopting him is so sweet

I do wish they’d changed 2 things with the ending, but I completely understand why they didn’t. I wish I’d known what Link said in the end scene in Castle Town that had everyone stunned, and I thought it was odd that everyone seemed a little shock when Link told them about Zelda’s heroics. I mean, at this point, they all know Zelda went off to save Hyrule and can ABSOLUTELY throw down if she needs to. They know she went to save Link and destroy Null. So why would they be surprised? But I also understand it’s important to show clearly, without any words we “hear” (because it would be weird to hear Link talk at this point in LoZ’s history), that Zelda gets credit for all she’s done.

I also really liked that they didn’t turn Link into the guy version of a damsel in distress. Triforce wielders are capable people and I like that they showed how strong Link and Zelda are separately and together!

um, so, yeah, it was a great game. I really liked it. XD

now I need to find another game to play … might do my umpteenth billionth playthrough of Super Paper Mario that game has my heart so bad

Thoughts on the Zelda news

HOLY SHIT

I'm surprised we're getting a new mainline game so soon. I genuinely expected a port of older existing games at best if anything. (We did get Four Swords which I'm really happy about). I was worried TOTK would ruin future Zelda games for me but the prospect of playable zelda saved it (which almost feels purposeful so good on you Nintendo)

Speaking of TOTK, thank the stars they're not trying to squeeze a third game out of the BOTW map. TOTK is amazing and a third one would just be tired out

I like that it's in the Link's Awakening remake toy style. It'd feel wrong for Nintendo to make a new realistic 3D open world type game that we have to wait 6 years for like TOTK (still waiting on the TP port tho!). However, a shift to a more cute cartoony look makes more sense without regurgitating the same toon Link designs from the Wind Waker and Four Swords trilogies. Plus LA is so charming!

I'm hyped for playable Zelda! I know there's been Wand of Gamelon (and Spirit Tracks as a command-able companion) but this is so exciting since it's a more new mainline release. This truly is Zelda's Awakening (for taking a more active protagonist role in her own franchise). And hopefully this'll open the door for more playable Zelda? (but I'm getting ahead of myself). It truly is the legend of Zelda!

This might be controversial but I think it's a good decision for Zelda to not wield a sword and shield. Cause that would defeat the purpose of having a new protagonist in my mind; if you just swap Link for Zelda but don't change anything else than what's the point? What distinguishes the hero's Courage from Wisdom? She can fight but has the wisdom to take a more magic-based combat approach with the tri-rod or wand (of Gamelon haha). Though it'd still be pretty sweet if EOW Zelda pulled out some Sheik moves or a cool shot with a bow to be honest.

I really appreciate the union between the older top-down style (hopefully more linear!) and the newer mechanics that allows for multiple creative solutions for the same puzzles. Of course, Nintendo's trying to lean towards the openness and creativity of individualizing one's gameplay experience from TOTK by incorporating the echo mechanic but it really works to give it to Zelda! I will find a way to complete the game solely with the potted plant echo or something stupid.

The triforce is back, baby! The little fairy Tri reminds me of Rosalina's star pet thing from Mario Galaxy. I can't believe the essence of the triforce incarnate is Zelda's cute travelling companion. Does this make her one of the most powerful heroes? (aside from the earliest ones where Link wields the entire triforce). Also it's probably for the sake of the echo mechanic but I'm curious why Tri seems to have 4 little triangles instead of 3? Lore implications?

Speaking of lore implications, WHERE in the timeline will this go??? I've seen a lot of people suspect it's in the downfall timeline, maybe after Link's Awakening or ALTTP because it's the same Hyrule map so I'm willing to agree for now. Even if I'm getting OOT vibes for whatever reason. Though if Ganon isn't creating the purple cracks in space, there has to be a cool new villain for Zelda to face off against that messed with the triforce in some way for Tri to become the way they are. For lack of knowledge, my silly little theory is the multiverse is collapsing and Cia comes back or something idk (I may be biased tho because the cracks are visibly inspiring the rifts in space-time I'm planning for TC).

All in all, I'm so happy!

Octoposse Tari AU

Around 2016, Tari goes to Inkopolis for some event and visits an arcade and plays a shooting game. While there, her skills are noticed by Desti who gives her the offer to join the Octoposse. While relucent Tari accepts the offer and moves to Inkopolis.

While Tari struggles at first due to her lack of athletic ability, she eventually gets the hang of it due to the same game logic as in canon. In exchange, Tari starts to show Desti that there is more to life than winning. This, however, starts a rift between the two and the rest of the Octoposse, who feel Desti is losing sight of their victory. Things come to a head after "If Mario was in Splatoon 2?" where the Octoposse decide that Desti doesn't care about them after trying to recruit Mario (Tari was elsewhere at the time). This leaves Tari and Desti desperate for new teammates.

Tari goes to the Mushroom Kingdom to pick up a game and winds up meeting Mario who asks her to teach him how to be a better gamer like in canon. Tari decides to teach him in hopes of convincing Mario to join her and Desti. Desti is in full approval of this plan.

Things go about the same as canon, just with a more distant Tari.

That is until Bob drops his diss track, resulting in Desti showing up to beat him up for insulting her best friend. This exposes their connection to the crew, and that Tari had been trying to recruit Mario. This leads to a furious Meggy breaking their friendship, which hurts Tari more than the gamer expected. Desti meanwhile only becomes more aggressive towards Meggy.

Tari and Desti have a few smaller roles, before getting involved in the Anime Arc when Desti is a suspect in Meggy's disappearance. The two join the rescue mission, and things play out the same.

Until the Sephiroth fight...

Tari and Desti stick by each other during the fight, and Tari sees the second Sephiroth and pushes Desti out of the way, but her Meta Runner arm is damaged in the process.

So Desti lives!

However, Francis is more focused on killing the crew and is more aggressive, which damages the Ink Zuccer. Because of this, when the Ink Zuccer explodes, it is more destructive...and Meggy doesn't make it.

(Francis makes it on to the boat, only to be killed by a grieving and furious Mario).

The crew are heartbroken by this. Desti regrets the way she treated Meggy, and Tari feels extremely guilty about going being Meggy's back. The two decided to win the last Splatfest in Meggy's honor.

Meggy's spirit talks to Desti and says she forgives her and Tari. The two soon move to the Mushroom Kingdom, due to the new anti-human laws. As the years go on, the two start to fall for each other, and start dating in late 2021.

Minor Notes for Later In the Timeline:

Desti encounters past Meggy while trying to stop SMG3's plan to delete the crew and is freaked out by it.

Desti and Kaizo are chaotic friends.

Desti gets a redesign at the end of the Lawsuit Arc. She's still an Octoling, but her jacket becomes a blue, striped vest and her tentacles change appearance, so she is Legally Distinct. She also gets a fang, just because that is cool.

Western Spaghetti would be very different as I don't know if Desti would look up to Wren.

I like the idea of Desti being a former soldier in the Octoling military. Puzzles might bring that side out through something like the keyboard to get her to work for him.

Introducing: Jay!! My ducktales oc!! (If it wasn't blatantly obvious lmao)

Do you want to know more about them? No? Too bad!

Jay, aka January was the first ever clone F.O.W.L. created. However, due to a lab accident, Jay ended up not only with scrooge's DNA, but also Bradford's. Deeming the clone a "failure", Heron drops the created baby off at an orphanage.

(Bradford becomes enraged when he later learns of this - a child with his and scrooge mcduck's dna?? Just out there??? Has Heron no concept how problematic that could shake out to be???)

Jay spends the first 9 years of their life kinda bouncing from foster home to foster home (kinda developing a bit of a thing abt people seeing them eat. Because of how their beak is a bit weirdly aligned, they can't eat quite the same as most others, and people stare.). But eventually they scrape together enough resources for like, one of those online-dna testing kits that spit out who you're related to.

Turns out their parents are Scrooge McDuck!!! (And some random vulture guy? Weird)

Thus, Jay sets out to become an adventurer like their dad, to meet him one day on their adventures!

Except, first adventure they immediately get trapped in a parallel, kind of very hellish dimension. They get out after three years, but they're pretty traumatized - and pretty much pu off of adventuring forever.

(Though they do find and keep a magic amulet in [hell dimension] that they use to cast spells. Mostly teleportation spells, really.)

Deciding they don't really want to meet a guy who's whole schtick is adventuring, they instead begin their search for dad#2, that vulture guy.

They find out he works for scrooge mcdad (of course he does) but don't judge him too harshly yet. From what they can find online (public libraries for the win!) the guy doesn't really... Do anything. Let alone go on adventures.

So Jay decides to find out where he lives and well, just kinda shows up at his door.

Much surprise is had, it's not quite the family reunion Jay was hoping for but they haven't been kicked out so they count it as a win.

Staying with their dad is pretty great, actually. He even hires a private tutor for homeschooling, since Jay missed 3 years of school and has a lot of catching up to do.

(they definitely hoard food in their room somewhere, just in case. They also have a bug-out bag ready at any given time. Just in case.)

Turns out, Dadford doesn't only also hate adventuring with a passion - he has a whole secret organization to take over the world and stop all adventuring! Forever!

(Jay found a secret stash of files on the computer they use for video games.)

Thus, at the ripe age of 13 they become the youngest FOWL agent ever!

And because they are kind of a big security risk now that they know, they get moved out to live in the outpost at the library of Alexandria instead, together with a bunch of the villains Dadford recruited.

(including Phantom Blot who Jay has an ongoing rivalry with just because they use magic sometimes lol)

(they and the villains play mario kart/party together on sundays)

Eventually, (three years later) season 1 happens and seeing the mcduck family successfully overcome the rift that della's absence left, dadford decides to put one of his better pawns into play.

Through some posturing, magic pyrotechnics and a fake mystical artefact, Jay gets planted into the mcduck family as scrooge's "magic child/clone".

(this happens during the episode "The Depths of Cousin Fethry", while huey and dewey are out meeting their cousin, scrooge, louie and webby go to find an invaluable treasure and return with Jay. Cue scrooge introducing Jay as his kid and Huey and Dewey going "wtf did we miss")

They go along on an adventure or two, mainly because saying "I hate adventuring and I don't want to do it because I was traumatized and hate it" doesn't make sense for someone who was just created from an ancient magic artefact. But after a couple adventures they can finally just put their foot down and stay home. It's chill.

They draw sometimes, do a few commissions.

Scrooge wants to bond with them so they teach him how to play video games and they watch some shows together.

Eventually, the last adventure rolls around.

At the point where Webby pretends to be June and kidnaps... Herself (yknow what part i mean. Probably) Jay comes with the clones, obviously shocking Webby.

But they make it to the library without any particular incident - except Huey getting discovered, obviously.

Jay stays behind to "escort June and Webby". They've very much realized the switcheroo that Webby pulled and use their (thus far mostly benign) magic to switcheroo back.

They nod to June, explaining that they didn't say anything earlier so that Director Dad doesn't get on her case too bad about "failing".

After that, Jay kinda just goes off to hang out a bit. Drink some pep. Chill.

On the way to Webby's cell, she wakes up and takes out June. (Because of course she does. She's Webby.)

Cue the rest of the finale.

Right up until Dadford is fighting McDuck and his fam. Because now, he calls Jay forward, who kinda immobilizes the fam with their magic for a bit.

Dadford throws his employees into the death pit, but oh shock! He picks up to throw Jay in as well.

And he does. He does throw them in.

Luckily, Jay is a master at magical teleportation and nobody realizes they weren't, in fact, erased from existence.

Bla bla bla, scrooge signs the papyrus, "family is the greatest adventure of all", boom the other vilalins show up to defeat dadford once and for all.

But what's this? It's Jay, with a magical barrier, protecting her dad from being turned into a non-sentient vulture!

They teleport themself and Dadford outta there.

At this point they're assuming they got thrown in the pit as a sort of surprise/back up, to make everyone think FOWL was already defeated when they were still there and alive. Yknow, a backup plan.

They live on the street for a bit, but Jay manages to get a job, securing the two of them an aprtment.

Dadford doesn't rlly come out of his room for a while.

Jay gets it; having ur thirty year-long plan derailed like that couldn't be, yknow, pleasant.

At some point, Louie finds them at their job and basically blackmails them into helping him out during adventures. (They kinda hide in his shadow, basically/louie summons them, so when something particularly dangerous happens they can subtly magic it away.)

Dadford eventually emerges from his room and drops the bombshell we all already knew: he very much did intend to kill Jay that day.

Jay is kinda shellshocked. They sort of robotically just return to their routine; go to work.

Louie summons them to deal with an adventure again, and wouldn't u know it? Its an adventure in that hell dimension that Jay got stuck in as a kid.

This, coupled with the revelation that one of their dads tried to kill them, kinda makes them very uncareful. They get revealed to the rest of the family but manage to get everyone out of there.

They reveal that Louie's been blackmailing them and the fact dadford tried to actually kill them sorta spills out in the same, emotionally charged rant and to their surprise scrooge offers to allow them back in the mansion, despite everything.

Jay hesitantly accepts, but mentions that they would like to keep working their current job. This is agreeable to everyone.

Jay returns to their apartment later, under the cover of "going to work" and find dadford packing his things.

They're like, what r u doing? Where would u even go?

And he's like, idk, i'll dip into my grandma's account or smth, its not like u want me here anymore, what with the attempted murder.

And Jay's like, I didn't say that.

Stunned silence.

So anyway, Jay sighs and tells dadford he's allowed to stay at the apartment and that Jay will stay at the manor again.

This is how far ive gotten. If u have any ideas/thoughts/complaints, drop 'em somewhere i can see 'em!

I always love it when I read fanfictions, and they portray Luigi and Peach's friendship as either besties or Peach treating Luigi like a little brother (especially if its a Mareach story).

I always wanted to see something like that in the games, but alas.

My theory regarding the game universe is that, while Luigi and Princess Peach are friendly with each other, their difference in status has an effect on their relationship... that Luigi's self consciousness prevents him from trying too hard to make friends with her out of fear of "overstepping his bounds."

In many of the Mario Party games, the Luigi-Peach teamup is called "Green Escort," which about sums it up. They like each other, but Luigi sees her safety as a heavy responsibility, which puts a dent in his ability to loosen up enough to be anything resembling a "bestie."

Mario, in the meantime, is not only far more relaxed by nature, but he's gone through a lot of bs to for Peach's sake... the kind of stuff that'll take a hammer to pretty much any hierarchical rift. And even then their relationship is only hinted at in terms of what we see on screen. In the end, it's up to fanfic writers to fill in the gaps.

HOWEVER... I do see Luigi's Mansion 3 as the end-all and be-all of mainline Mario game characterization, and while the game begins with Luigi minding his own business while his brother engages the princess in friendly conversation, by the end there's revealed to be a closeness between Peach and Luigi that goes beyond just the responsibility of protecting her. First of all, Luigi goes in to hug Peach alongside Mario after rescuing her, which is HUGE.

Second, when King Boo reveals himself, Princess Peach instinctively reaches out her arms to defend Mario and Luigi alike.

TL;DR: I agree with you! I love seeing interpretations of a close Peach and Luigi friendship, and I especially love seeing Peach treat Luigi like a little brother... but like many things in the Mario game universe, that's something that gets expounded on through fandom rather than what we are actually allowed to see in canon. My interpretation is that Luigi's a bit of a tough nut to crack. He's Mr. Anxiety, overthinking and overly self conscious. He's kind to everyone and wants to do what's right, but that includes... like I said... not overstepping his bounds. Princess Peach– being the one of higher status– would have to go out of her way to let him know how much he means to her as a friend before he relaxes enough for them to actually get close. Though I do hold out hope that maybe one day we'll get more Luigi-Peach platonic moments in the games... just a tiny sliver more than those split second instances in LM3. Please.
