Last month was kinda crazy creativity wise, and I spent most of it busting a gut over my Halloween costume. But I did manage to finish this piece. It’s my entry for @totalrayhem’s Rayman Invasion Collab! I went with the Truce option as for me the Sparks of Hope DLC really nailed the relationship between Rayman, Rabbid Peach and Rabbid Mario.

I think bonding with the two really gave Ray some food for thought about Rabbids, showing there is far more to them than the mindless screaming invaders he first encountered. Now he has at least 2 he’d consider friends and that’s wonderful ❤️

I’d like to think RPeach set him up with his own phone so they could stay in contact between dimensions ^_^

…dammit now I want to go replay the dlc XD

This is basically what I want Rayman and Rabbid Mario to have XD. A friendship and camaraderie based on punching stuff :)

Poor Ray is going to have a LOT to take in meeting the SoH Rabbids (flashbacks etc) and it will probably throw him off his normal groove. But Rabbid Mario was just so ready to befriend this weird limbless eggplant dude and only got freaked out after accidentally pulling his hand off. I just get the impression RMario wouldn’t like seeing anyone sad and would try in his weird way to offer support. Turns out their hobbies aren’t too dissimilar :)

Happy 1st Anniversary To Rayman In The Phantom Show!!!🎊💗

(Ft. An unapologetically sentimental essay about my feelings on this dlc and why it means so much to me under the cut)

To anyone who has been following me for a while now, I think you all know about how I feel about rayman as a whole, I love him. I have loved him since I was 6-7 years old when I first played rayman origins on my late brother's psvita we used to own. Rayman is a series that has always been in the back of my mind, even back in my 2020 era when I mostly just posted about don't hug me I'm scared. So it's not hard to figure out that your man was excited when it was announced that he was coming back in full glory in the form of a mario + rabbids dlc.

By the time it was I think june of 2023 I found myself obsessing over rayman again like I used to back then as a child. and it felt great. it felt great to just, actively be heavily invested again in this series after so long, feels good.

the future of rayman himself might be uncertain, but the fact that I was able to spend more time with him after years of being apart is always going to something I cherish.

2023 was a really rough time for me, I mean it's not much better right now. but I was going through a really miserable time in my life at that point. but rayman in the phantom show motivated me to keep going, the promise I would be reunited with an old friend was enough for me to push through despite everything. and it's not much different today, this month has been a very awkward and stressful one, with school eating away at my soul and being constantly reminded of the terrifying idea of adulthood leaving me miserable and bitter as a result. but I was willing to go through all that because I was going to celebrate something I cherish more than life itself ♡
