My favorite outfits from Lewis Hamilton's Fashion Week (LHFW) 2023
Seeing people post the compilations had me wondering what was my favorite paddock look he wore. This was very hard because there were over 80 outfits to choose from. I am not a fashion expert but i know what i do and do not like. And if there's one thing about me, imma give my opinions that literally nobody asked for. Credits to @.hamazinglew on Instagram for their work on sourcing the brands he's wearing.
These are in no particular order because I don't have it in me to rank the best of the best. That's just way too hard
Bahrain Race Day - Dior
The top is alright but what really gets my attention is the half-skirt part of the outfit. More of that please and thank you
Jeddah Quali Day - Rick Owens
His waist was snatched and the top was sleeveless. What more could you ask for?? I wish he was wearing skinny jeans with the signature Rick Owen's high heel boots but I understand why he isn't 😅
Miami Race Day - Rick Owens
I know it was hot as hell on that day. But he wanted to make history, and that's what this is. I love sequins, and I love the color purple, so this is like my dream outfit in a way
Baku Race Day - Tommy Hilfiger
I give Tommy Hilfiger a lot flack because a lot of the outfits in their recent collections don't move me at all. It's really all about the styling. If he buttoned down the jacket all the way I probably wouldn't have cared much for this outfit
Silverstone Practice Day - Louis Vuitton
I liked Pharrell's Louis Vuitton collection for the most part. A lot of people said that it was uninspired and tacky but I was living for it. What can I say, I am easily influenced. Lewis really had that shit on and the bell-bottom pants completes this look
Zandvoort Race Day - Rick Owens
The fabric looks so cool. It's like his outfit is wet but it's not at the same time. If the top was completely see-through this probably would have been my favorite outfit of the year
Qatar Practice and Quali - JW Anderson and Rick Owens
This outfit would be considered average if it wasn't for his chest tattoo being shown. Normalize boob windows. More people need to wear tops like this please and thank you 🙏
Las Vegas Race Day - Burberry
The outfits he wore during the Vegas weekend chewed. And this one had to be the best one. He's sparkly and shiny like what more could you ask for???
Honorable Mention: Paris Fashion Week - Wales Bonner
I cannot talk about LHFW without talking about his best outfit of the year. Lives were changed when these images first hit the TL. This is the best suit he's ever worn. I am not quite sure how he's gonna top this but he will find a way
I personally dgaf about dior i’d rather see lewis be an ambassador for brands like zegna, rick owens or ferragamo. Maybe throw a little bit of versace and bottega in the mix. He looks so hot in these brands.
i'm saying dior because it's the current topic. but also there's already history and good relationship there. i'd take any, give me wales bonner??? but anyway, we need him a big brand where he'll be able to collab and create. where's his jordan moment? we neeeeed 🥲
Pitchfork is to be folded into GQ as it's music vertical :( Conde Nast fired all the main staff. People are looking to streaming services to save them now for recommendations but they're algorithmic or circular - major label artists and bigger independent artists favoured. Or TikTok but bands don't really thrive on there - they thrive more on traditional methods like music press......
The Kitchen has been released on Netflix.

Rick Owens FW23- loved the apartment
Comme Des Garçons HOMME PLUS FW24 - love the hair and make up - “SPIRITUAL WORLD. White is symbolic of prayer."
Wales Bonner AW24 - love the ambiance and shoes
Loewe - set design - American artist Richard Hawkins (b.1961, Mexia, Texas), whose practice is rooted in collage and the provocation of juxtaposition, used 1960s LOEWE window designs by José Pérez de Rozas—the mastermind of the house's iconic store visuals for over 30 years—as a starting point for the 12 video works.
Notes for shows I didn't 100% like: LV's show was inspired by American Western aesthetics and P's home state of Virginia. Fendi's collection was inspired by Princess Anne and her uniform (anti fashion - very funny phrase coming back into the loop - almost...anti creativity and anti freedom)
John Metcalfe - Tree - a modern classical suite with both chamber and orchestral arrangements.
Tree is eight immersive compositions that take the listener through twenty-four hours in the life of one of nature’s most majestic creations
The Durutti Column viola-playing master - a composer and arranger for the likes of U2, Coldplay, Peter Gabriel and Blur, as well as co-founder with Tony Wilson of the Factory Classical label – had been composing music spontaneously, instinctively, when the idea of Tree arrived. The album came from a desire in John Metcalfe to write at scale – perhaps a natural reaction for a composer writing out of the silences and solitude of our recent pandemic years.
“The pieces I was writing were big and trying to be bigger, so I knew they had to be to do with something – and then I thought about one of the most profound experiences of my life.” He is referring to seeing Tāne Mahuta as an adult, the largest known living kauri tree in the world. Set in an ancient subtropical rainforest on the North Island of Aoreatoa / New Zealand, John had spent his early childhood living in that part of the world after his British father had "escaped there as a ten-pound Pom".
Having emigrated to England as a child, he went back to New Zealand with his wife when he was 26. He explains, “…we thought we’d tick something off the tourist list, and I thought we're going to see trees, which is great – but we weren’t prepared for what happened.”. They both cried when they found Tãne Mahuta, and Metcalfe is still amazed at the reaction he had: “… as an atheist, it was the closest I’ve ever got to a spiritual moment… there was something extraordinary about the atmosphere in the forest and the size of this tree, and the sense that it had been there a long time. It was about the protection it gave, and the sense of connection we had with that protection.”
Written for live players and recorded in Abbey Road Studios to convey human connection at scale, Tree imagines what it would be like to be sat completely still under a tree that you love, being alive to the ever-shifting interplay of light, colour, weather and sound. Shimmering pulsating layered tracks take the listener on a voyage that takes in the dawn chorus, depicted by conversations between chirruping woodwind and staccato strings, through to the solemnity of dusk and into the playful night. The album at times summons up the folkloric power of ancient forests through an emotional crescendo in emotion and sound, before bringing us back to sunrise, and a reflection on the journey we’ve taken.
Tree isn’t just about Tãne Mahuta, explains Metcalfe: “It could be about any tree – they’re all very magical.” This record isn’t a political statement, but it's clear to him that as science progresses, and as climate breakdown progresses, people are trying to find deeper ways to understand and cherish nature. "It’s about the music that people are trying to create to connect with things that are huge and beautiful and inexplicable around them."
Tree is John's beautiful, emotional attempt. "My album's about describing our relationship with something as every-day and extraordinary as a tree, and how it can be an incredibly important part of who we are.”

really feeling drawn to adding a skirt to my wardrobe and seeing you in full look Thom confirmed it, i wanted to hear your thoughts or approach to wearing them if you're willing to share!
I’m about to write a novel about this if you don’t want to see me ramble please scroll away:
There’s a lot to talk about here in regards to gendered clothing but I’m going to make some assumptions when answering this. If I’m off base or this doesn’t really answer your question send me another ask and I’ll clarify.
I approach skirts in my own wardrobe in a couple of different ways that vary based on the context of the outfit. At the end of the day, silhouette is always what I focus on the most and that’s the largest stumbling block I see for most people who are not used to styling a skirt (especially in a more traditionally masculine wardrobe).
Generally speaking, if you have broader shoulders like I do something with more volume is going to balance out your proportions and be most flattering. You’ll want to look for a-line shapes and details that create volume towards the hem like pleats or ruffles. I also like wrap styles because they’re much more flexible as far as fit and styling go. I don’t really like skirts that accentuate any of the contours of my body above the hemline but if that’s what you’re after there are definitely designers doing that in the men’s space (Rick Owens, Ann Demeulemeester, Dries Van Noten). If you’re shopping in women’s, look for keywords like sheath/body-con for that look. For shoes I prefer a boot/loafer/oxford/sandal rather than a sneaker with a skirt even in a more causal outfit because I think a sneaker can look awkward very easily but your mileage may vary. If you do wear a sneaker a high top and a long sock are best imo. In a more formal context, I like a skirt that operates the same way as a suit trouser. I want a shape that will compliment the cut of the blazer, and a fabric with similar weight and structure. Both pieces in the same fabric for a true suit is ideal imo if you want to present a skirt in a more traditionally masculine way, but I think mixing materials can work as long as the shapes are complimentary. For me, Thom is the benchmark for this look in the world of menswear and nobody does it better. Comme des Garçons Homme Plus has also done a few that I really like. If you’re open to buying from a women’s collection, look to brands like The Row, Tibi, Peter Do, Alaïa, and Wales Bonner for inspiration. Or if you want buy a fetish store latex skirt and wear it with like a band tee and flip flops like live your dream or whatever it really is Just Clothes.
