Hair Hacks
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you cannot save your dead ends and the hair product industry is selling you lies. Get yourself an appointment and cut off the split ends! I'm a long hair girl myself so growing my hair is my ultimate goal, but not for the price of having damaged hair because in my honest opinion: healthy hair > long hair.
Personally I prefer natural colored hair but if you are into hair dye treat yourself (and especially your hair with moisturizing products).
Oiling your hair is key to shiny and healthy hair and you should do it regularly (create your own oil it's so much fun)
for the non curly girls: brush your hair daily but gently
apply a hair mask 2x a week
use gentle hair ties for overnight braids
don't wash your hair with too hot water and rinse with cold water, rice water, etc.
avoid tight hair styles
use heat protection and stop applying to much heat
do scalp massages to stimulate hair growth
use a claw clip instead of hair ties
use sulfate free shampoo only
invest in silk pillow cases (game changer but it took me some time to get used to it)
wash your brushes (could be a major factor for greasy hair)
do not over touch your hair
conditioner only belongs on the ends
use a microfibre towel or old t-shirt to dry your hair after showering
wash your hair 1-3 per week depending on your hair type

PLSSSS GIVE ME CURLY HAIR ROUTINE AND PROTUCTS. I HAVE CURLY HAIR AND I KNOW NOTHINGGGG. Your also so beautiful girl 😍✨️
MY CURLY HAIR ROUTINE!!!
for reference i have 3A/3B hair
shampoo and conditioner is the mielle rosemary mint line
i shampoo my hair really well. make sure to focus shampooing your roots to wash the build up off the roots
i condition my hair after and leave it in while i wash my face then i detangle with a wide tooth comb and rinse my hair
mielle rice water length retention spray
after my shower while my hair is still a bit wet but not to the point where it’s dripping on the floor i spray the rice water length retention spray all over my hair and comb it again to make sure it’s all over my hair
mielle rice water split end serum treatment
i then use the split end treatment on my ends to keep them moisturized and not nasty
mielle rosemary mint oil
i use VERY LITTLE of this oil. i put two or theee drops on my hand and rub it into my ends to ensure i keep my hair healthy
mielle rosemary mint styling cream
after coming all those products in, i take a few pumps of the styling cream and incorporate it all through my hair and i part my hair after. (make sure you’re adding water to your hair if it starts to dry because that helps with frizziness)
styling brush
i use a denman brush to style my curls. i part my hair and take small sections to brush through my hair at a certain angle and shake it a bit to help it curl up. (finger coiling is also a great method there’s many videos on this)
tresemme mousse
i flip my hair upside down and i take some mousse and SCRUNCHHHHHHHHH SCRUNCH SCRUNCH it into your hair
microfiber towel/cotton shirt
use either of these to scrunch your hair to remove excess water
diffuse
i put my diffuser on warm for the first 5 minutes of the medium speed to create somewhat of a cast which is caused from the mousse. i then turn up the heat and diffuse my hair til it’s 80% dry.
AGAIN with the rosemary mint oil
using some drops of the oil on your hands then scrunching your hair helps break the cast so your hair isn’t crunchy!!
tips:
- doing oil treatments often can help with hair growth and increase hair thickness
- wash your hair as often as you need to, if your hair gets greasy easily WASH IT, if it takes a couple days you don’t need to wash it especially curly hair because it can dry your hair out
- when showering, rinse your hair with cool water because hot water can dry your hair out
happy styling girl queens!!!!

Black Hair Care myths BUSTED!
Tumblr media
Since I’m fighting off the plague and have nothing else better to do but lay here pitifully, I’ve decided to talk about hair again after my last two posts on shampoo types and curly hair care , only this time focusing on Black folks’ hair and the misinformation lots of us grew up on.
Now, because I know the gowrls like to tussle (and Mercury in Microbraids along with an eclipse is upon us), lemme just say this: if you’re absolutely happy with your hair care routine, then this post isn’t for you.
This post is only for people who are curious and want to evolve and simplify their hair care routines.
OKAY LEGGO:
The hair typing chart is garbage.
Tumblr media
Everyone and they mama should be familiar with this chart. So many of us use it to determine what type of hair products to buy that work best for our hair type.
Unfortunately, the chart is pseudo-science.
Tumblr media
All hair types need the same basic care (shampooing/conditioning at least every week), and products that claim to cater to a specific hair type is just a marketing tactic. This chart also promotes texturism; Oprah’s stylist literally made up the type 4 category to say that the only thing to do to tight curls is to straighten or loosen them. 🥲
Products can’t give you the kind of curls you want.
I touched on this a bit in my first hair post, but it bears repeating here: Curl “activators”, Shea butter, raw oil blends, creams, leave-in conditioners, texturizing shampoos… all of them are finessing you, beloveds. If your hair isn’t holding defined clumps of curls immediately after shampooing, then your hair is likely chronically dehydrated and needs to be detoxed.
We’re kinda raised to product chase because we’re told that the way our hair grows out of our heads is bad and needs to be fixed, and the $2.5 billion Black hair care industry is always eager to offer us placebos for our coin. We see someone with the hair texture and length we want and we immediately ask “what products do you use??” as if the answer is in a bottle when it’s really just genetics. 🤷🏽‍♀️
Greasing/oiling your scalp does not moisturize it, get rid of dandruff, or make your hair grow faster.
Tumblr media
As a kid I remember my hairdresser using a fine toothed comb and “breaking up” the dandruff on my scalp before applying Sea Breeze to soothe it. Every single time, the dandruff came back worse. 😩 If I put oil on my scalp, it would take only a day before build up and large yellow flakes would rain out of my hair. But I thought because my scalp and my hair needed moisturizing that I couldn’t go without oils.
Well, I was right on one thing; my scalp and hair def needed moisture. But I wasn’t gonna get moisture from anything but water, and at the time I was avoiding water like the plague because I always had a fresh silk press or perm and I didn’t want my hair “reverting”.
If you have a scalp condition or chronic itchiness, you are very much making it worse by adding any of that to your head. The only solution is to wash your hair, loves. Yes, you may have to choose between looking “laid” and what’s actually good for your hair and scalp, but them’s the breaks.
The hair growth oils that line the shelves at Sally’s? Literally snake oil. Same goes for hair vitamins, biotin, MSM, rice water, JBCO, egg white/tea rinse/fruit or food products, African Black soap, rose water, etc. Nothing topical, save for specific medicated prescription drugs from a dermatologist, can make hair grow. Save ya money, hunny!
Co-washing and water-only washing doesn’t get your hair clean.
Conditioner is incapable of doing what shampoo does. You’re just gonna add layers of build up on your hair doing co-washes. Water-only cleansing is like never using soap in your laundry and expecting your clothes to be clean. 😬 Only putting shampoo on your scalp and carefully avoiding the length of your hair is the equivalent of white folks not washing their legs in the shower. Don’t do any of this.
I actually do not know where the myth started that Black folks hair is somehow too fragile to handle shampoo, a thing that is specifically formulated for hair. 😅 If shampoo is drying your hair out, you need to make sure you’re using the right kind of shampoo, not ditching shampoo altogether. If you need help, I touched on shampoo basics here!
Using a spray bottle to “refresh” your hair doesn’t do what you think it’s doing.
Tumblr media
Tiny water droplets from a spray bottle only sit on the surface of your hair, even more so if your hair already has product in it. If your styles aren’t holding until your next wash, you may need to re-examine what you’re using, how you apply it, and how you set it. If you need to refresh a style or get moisture, nothing less than washing your hair will do.
Finger detangling or using a wide toothed comb or denman brush isn’t doing the job.
I know we’ve been raised to think that because our hair is tightly coiled, that we have to treat it with kid gloves. But we actually do more harm to our hair by not detangling correctly. Detangling is the act of getting shed hair out from your head so it doesn’t wrap up in your healthy hair and cause breakage. A wide toothed comb can’t do that, and neither can your fingers. A denman brush is ONLY supposed to be used to hold tension in the hair when blowdrying it straight. What you want is a Felicia Leatherwood brush and to use that bad boy in the shower right after putting conditioner on sopping wet hair, trust me.
Protective styles don’t exist.
Buns, braids, wigs… all of them look fantastic when done right and it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t wear them. But they are all just alternative styles; nothing is being protected. I know a lot of us love the low maintenance that having these styles provide, but I want us to examine why they are thought of as low maintenance: it’s because folks are less likely to wash their hair/detangle while having them.
Any style that discourages you from weekly hair washing cannot be protective. It instead promotes hair neglect. Yes, I know, it can cost thousands of dollars for those waist length box braids or sew in, but you paid for the labor that goes into those kinds of styles, not the ability to keep them in for as long as possible. Not touching your hair for weeks on end means you’ll have dehydrated hair with mad buildup to get rid of. And btw, that type of damage to the hair cannot be fixed in just one visit to the salon. For as many weeks as you go without washing your hair, you need that many weeks out of an alternative style with frequent washing to help it recover.
Dry hair is determined by its behavior, not how it feels.
Tumblr media
This one has a lot of folks tripped out because logically, we should be able to just touch our strands and know that it needs moisture. Unfortunately, so many of us don’t know what our actual hair feels like without it being slathered in products, so the moment that we stop using them we think our hair is “dry” when it’s really just how our natural hair texture may feel. It’s def not easy in the beginning to let go of the familiarity a nicely oiled head of hair presents. 🥲
So, how do you know if you have dry hair? If it can’t hold a curl pattern without manipulation, is hydrophobic (if water doesn’t completely flatten hair to your scalp when you wash it, it’s not absorbing), is extremely difficult to detangle, breaks off easily, etc.
You don’t need to rinse your hair in cold water.
Only reason you should even consider it is if you have vivid color in your hair, but… lemme tell y’all sumn.
Years ago when I started dyeing my hair, it was typical for a permanent black hair dye to act like a semi-perm and wash almost completely out or turn grey in a few weeks. Now that I have a much better hair regimen that keeps my hair in the best health it can be, my semi-permanent fashion colors last for months until I decide to touch it up again. And I absolutely do not relish being cold in the shower, so I just use hot water.
The health of your hair matters more than any gimmicks or products you can use to fix a problem.
Long hair/shiny hair is not an indicator of health, it is an indicator of genetics.
I want DESPERATELY for us as a people to break the shackles of thinking that the only hair that matters is long and thick, or that someone who has long hair is an automatic authority on hair care.
If you want an idea of how long your hair can get, then look to your family. If your mom or dad don’t have hair touching their waist then it’s highly possible you were not blessed with the DNA to get your hair waist length either. And that’s okay! You aren’t any less valid. It will just save you a LOT of heartache to learn to embrace your hair the way it naturally is rather than to run around buying products and chasing haircare trends in hopes that a miracle will happen. Not to mention, I’ve seen a lot of folks with long hair but they ain’t had a trim in years and it absolutely shows. 😬
A lot of folks do not have shiny hair, that is once again due to genetics not hair health. Matte hair has a different surface texture and that’s absolutely fine! Only manufactured beauty standards glorify long and shiny hair.
Speaking of hair length…
Shrinkage is not your enemy.
Tumblr media
A general rule is that the only hair length that matters is how you regularly wear it.
My hair stays comfortably at the nape of my neck now that I wear my curls 100% of the time. If I pull it taut, then it’ll reach mid-back. But I don’t plan on straightening my hair ever again to show that mid-back length, so… 🤷🏽‍♀️ I have short hair because that is how it lays without manipulation. And that’s fine.
Shrinkage doesn’t scare me because it’s what healthy curly hair DOES. If my hair springs like a coil and retains shape, then I’m doing something right! I have always wanted long hair, I won’t deny that. But if I have to stretch my natural hair in any way in order to GET that long hair, it’s not worth it to me. I’ll just wear a wig for a hot min if I wanna whip my hair back and forth.
Air drying your hair isn’t better than diffusing it with a hair dryer.
Another thing we’ve been told is that heat damages our hair and that air drying is best. That’s not necessarily true.
DIRECT heat can damage your hair (flat irons, blow outs, pressing combs). INDIRECT heat (hooded dryers, a diffuser attachment on a handheld dryer) does not. In fact, diffused heat sets your wash and gos/twist outs way better than air drying. It cuts down on frizz and ensures your style will last through the week.
Also, it’s better to dry your hair completely rather than wait hours for it to air dry and then maybe sleep on wet hair. Fun fact: Leaving your hair wet for too long can cause mold to grow in your hair! 😱 And if you lay a wet head on a pillow, the bacteria transfers to your pillowcase and you continue to sleep in that until you wash the pillow!
You can’t “lock moisture in” your hair.
Water evaporates. It’s what it’s gonna do. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Putting leave ins or oils on your hair in hopes that water stays in your strands longer isn’t a thing, despite what a lot of us have been told. The only thing you’re gonna be left with is greasy, dehydrated hair if you don’t wash it weekly.
Avoiding getting a hair cut will not grant you healthy or long hair.
Hair grows an average of half an inch per month, regardless of race. The belief that “Black hair doesn’t grow” is rooted in anti-Blackness. 😅 If you’re not seeing growth, then it’s most likely that your hair is simply breaking off faster than the rate of growth, or you have an underlying health issue that needs to be addressed by a doctor.
I know I used to hate hairdressers who seemed “scissor happy” because I was always chasing length, so I would often only tell them to “dust” the ends if they do anything. Now, I will grab my clippers and cut inches off my hair in a heartbeat if my hair starts looking raggedy. Clinging on to scraggly hair because it takes “so long to grow” doesn’t do you any favors, trust me. 😭 Take better care of your hair and you will retain length a lot easier, and that includes getting quarterly haircuts.
Porosity does not matter.
Tumblr media
How many of us did this whole “put a strand of hair in a cup of water and see if it floats or sinks”? Well, what if I told you that it means absolutely nothing for everyday hair care? 😭 Porosity isn’t even a static state, so many things can change it on a dime!
The only time porosity matters is if you are getting a color service and that is only for your stylist to determine. And you will never see a stylist worth their salt putting your hair in a cup of water to figure it out. Also, a lot of “low” porosity hair is just product build up.
Using home remedies to address hair loss concerns doesn’t work.
No, it doesn’t matter that your grandma did black tea rinses regularly to stop her hair from shedding. It doesn’t matter what women in India do with their hair, either. This may be a hard pill to swallow, but it’s perfectly okay to evolve past things that aren’t truly helpful even if it’s a Black culture staple.
Please don’t be afraid to go to a dermatologist. 🥺 There’s even a Black Dermatologist Directory to reference if you don’t wanna go to just anybody. Yeah, it may seem pricey, but Dermatologists have the training to cut through the guesswork, pinpoint what the problem is and save you a LOT of time and pain. You don’t wanna fuck around and make your hair loss WORSE by doing psuedo-chemistry in your kitchen.
“Do what works for you” doesn’t have the mileage you think it does.
Tumblr media
When people don’t want to hear that their current hair practices aren’t really helping them, they default to “Well, it works for ME!” or “Everyone’s hair is different!”
Nobody’s hair is so different that it doesn’t need a weekly wash with shampoo. Nobody’s hair is the magical unicorn that grew 4 inches in a month because they used JBCO. Your hair is not “built different”, and believing that it is will lead you to spending money on things you don’t need. Doing what works for you only comes after you have nailed the basics of healthy hair care, and it only varies in like… if you prefer to use styling foam to set your wash n go as opposed to gel. Or using one brand’s shampoo over another. Not “my hair likes butters and oils and staying in protective styles for months on end and is doing just fine, and you telling me otherwise is anti-Black”.
If you have unexamined hatred of your natural hair texture, then nothing in this long-ass post will hit for you. If a large part of your identity as a Black person is rooted in product chasing, protective styles and taking an entire business day to wash your hair, then a lot of this will offend you. I’m really sorry for that, and I am not here to argue with anybody. I’ll just tell you “if you like it, I love it” and go on about my business.
For everyone else, I really hope this post helps to shed some light on hair care and set you on a better journey that gives you more time and more confidence in your styles! 🥹

Rice Water Haircare Market Forecast and Analysis Report (2023-2032)
Tumblr media
The Global Rice Water Haircare Market is projected to grow from USD 1276 million in 2024 to USD 2379.33 million by 2032, expanding at a CAGR of 8.10%,
Rice water has gained significant popularity in the haircare world due to its rich nutrient profile and traditional roots in Asian beauty practices. The starchy water left over after rinsing or boiling rice is loaded with vitamins, minerals, and amino acids that are believed to promote hair growth, strengthen strands, and improve overall hair health. Key nutrients such as inositol, a carbohydrate that repairs and protects damaged hair, and amino acids, which strengthen the hair shaft, contribute to the benefits of rice water. This natural remedy is also rich in vitamins B, C, and E, which are essential for healthy hair growth. Regular use of rice water is said to detangle hair, add shine, and improve elasticity, making it particularly beneficial for those with dull or brittle hair.
Moreover, the simplicity of making rice water at home adds to its appeal, allowing users to harness its benefits without relying on commercial products filled with chemicals. While scientific research on rice water is still emerging, the anecdotal evidence and centuries of use in places like Japan and China lend credibility to its efficacy in enhancing hair texture and promoting growth. As more people turn to natural and sustainable beauty practices, rice water has cemented its place as a go-to treatment for maintaining healthy, vibrant hair.
Here are the key uses of rice water in haircare:
Hair Growth Promotion: Rice water is believed to stimulate hair growth due to its rich content of amino acids, vitamins, and minerals, which nourish the scalp and strengthen hair follicles.
Strengthening Hair Strands: The inositol found in rice water helps repair damaged hair and strengthens hair strands, reducing breakage and split ends.
Improving Hair Texture: Regular use of rice water can enhance hair texture, making it smoother, shinier, and more manageable by improving hair elasticity and reducing frizz.
Detangling Hair: Rice water acts as a natural conditioner, making it easier to detangle hair, particularly for those with curly or textured hair.
Soothing the Scalp: Rice water has a calming effect on the scalp, which can help reduce irritation, dandruff, and other scalp conditions.
Protecting Hair from Damage: The amino acids and vitamins in rice water create a protective layer on the hair, shielding it from environmental damage and heat styling.
Enhancing Shine and Luster: The starch in rice water coats the hair, adding a natural shine and making hair appear healthier and more vibrant.
Balancing Scalp pH: Rice water can help maintain a healthy scalp by balancing its pH level, which is essential for overall hair health.
The Rice Water Haircare Market is evolving rapidly, with several innovative trends shaping its growth. Here are some key trends:
Customization and Personalization: Brands are offering personalized rice water haircare solutions tailored to individual hair types and concerns. Customized products, such as bespoke rice water shampoos and conditioners, allow consumers to address specific needs like dryness, hair loss, or scalp sensitivity.
Hybrid Formulations: Rice water is being combined with other potent natural ingredients like aloe vera, argan oil, and green tea to create multi-functional haircare products. These hybrid formulations offer enhanced benefits, such as added moisture, UV protection, and antioxidant properties, making them more appealing to health-conscious consumers.
Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Packaging: In line with the growing demand for sustainable beauty products, companies are embracing eco-friendly packaging solutions. This includes using recyclable, biodegradable, or refillable containers, which resonate with environmentally conscious consumers and reduce the carbon footprint of rice water haircare products.
DIY Kits and Concentrates: To cater to the DIY beauty trend, brands are launching rice water concentrates and kits that allow consumers to create their own rice water haircare products at home. These kits often come with additional ingredients and detailed instructions, empowering users to craft personalized treatments while ensuring freshness and potency.
Scalp Care Focus: With the increasing recognition of the importance of scalp health in overall hair care, rice water products are being developed with a focus on soothing, nourishing, and balancing the scalp. These products often include ingredients that promote scalp health, such as probiotics, anti-inflammatory agents, and mild exfoliants.
Expanded Product Lines: Beyond traditional shampoos and conditioners, brands are expanding their rice water product lines to include a variety of offerings such as leave-in treatments, hair mists, serums, and overnight masks. This diversification caters to different consumer preferences and haircare routines, broadening the appeal of rice water haircare.
Scientific Validation and Transparency: As consumers become more discerning, there is a trend towards greater transparency and scientific validation of the benefits of rice water. Brands are investing in research and clinical trials to substantiate their claims, providing evidence-based marketing that builds consumer trust.
Influencer and Social Media Marketing: The popularity of rice water haircare has been fueled by social media platforms, where influencers and beauty bloggers share their experiences and results. Brands are leveraging this trend by collaborating with influencers to reach wider audiences and create buzz around their rice water haircare products.

Summer'21 Prep&Plan
I am using this summer as a chance to completely reset my life and glow up, and you should too <3
Here's what you need to do to have the best summer ever:
Phase 1 (Plan)
Figure out what you want out of this summer, get crystal clear on who you want to be by the end of the summer
Identify the goals to get you there, for every aspect of your life (school/ work/ health/ personal/ etc.)
Figure out what you need to do on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to get there
Establish a Flexible daily, weekly and monthly routine that you can stick to
Make sure your plan makes it impossible for you not to follow through
Draft a shopping list (this tip is easier to do at the end), it can be anything from straight white jeans to stationary to a lip scrub to AirPods, anything that will help you reach your goals
Tumblr media
Phase 2 (Feel your best)
Health is wealth
How I live a healthy lifestyle - Part 1: Nutrition and Diet
Get into a calories deficit/ surplus if you want to lose/ gain weight (Do not count calories if they are a trigger!!)
Establish an exercise routine and stick to it (bonus tip: make sure it lines up with your hair washdays)
10,000 steps per day minimum, taking daily walks will help you reach your goals
Dance more
Eat healthier, you can go on a diet like the keto/ Mediterranean/ paleo diet or you can take a more intuitive approach and just improve your existing eating habits
Look into fasting and it's many benefits, you can do OMAD, intermittent fasting, alternate day fasting, 24 hour fasts, 72 hour fasts, etc. but start small if you are not used to it. You can even have a schedule (eg. one 72 hour fast per month)
Make sure you are getting all your vitamins and minerals
Water (2 liters per day), but you already knew that, didn't you?
Incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your diet
Stop snacking, unless you need to for health reasons
Quit sugar
Quit fizzy drinks (don't drink your calories)
Quit junk food (much healthier alternatives out there)
Tumblr media
Skin
Do your research on different ingredients and products, you don't want to mess up your skin
Identify your specific sink type, needs and concerns (this is vital)
Figure out your AM and PM routine
Speaking of AM, wear your sunscreen!!
Get lip balm with SPF, my favourite is Palmer's dark chocolate and cherry
Try slugging (applying a thin layer of vaseline/ glycerin at the end of your PM routine)
De-puff your face in the morning, a Gua Sha is good for this or you could perform a facial massage with your hands
Ice your face in the morning, good for circulation and de-puffing
Use a facial oil, there are so many good ones out there, especially Argon and Rosehip oil
Do a weekly at-home facial
Apply a face mask AT LEAST once a week
Look into professional treatments if needed
Incorporate face yoga
Don't neglect your neck or chest
Establish an anti-ageing routine, prevention is better than treatment (will def have to make an in-depth post about this one)
Tumblr media
Hair
Understanding your hair is a game changer!!
Identify your hair type, needs and concerns
Figure out how often you need to wash your hair and create a schedule
Establish a hair care routine for your washday
Establish a hair care routine for maintenance in between washdays
Treat any damage, Olaplex 3 is quite good
Oil your hair once a week or more, depending on your hair type and needs
Apply a hair mask/ a hot oil treatment as often as you can
Get henna treatments every 3 months or so
Look into dusting to maintain the health of your hair and keep up in between treatments
hair cuts, either a trim or to change up the look of your hair
Get any professional treatments if needed
The curly girl method is a good starting point if you have curly hair and don't know how to take care of it
Monthly rice water treatments
Apple cider vinegar rinse + a clarifying shampoo (no more than once a week) if you have hard water
A filter is quite good for hard water as well
Use a heat protectant, they work (if you get the right one)
Take care of your lashes and eyebrows, please.
Tumblr media
Body care
Identify anything you want to change (stretch marks, cellulite, dark knees, etc.)
Figure out how to treat them
Establish a body care routine
Figure how to incorporate your treatments into your routine
Have a shower and after shower routine
Try to make sure all your body care is the same scent (either all vanilla or all peach or any other scent, Bath & Body Works is AMAZING for this)
Say it with me: SPF
Hand and foot creams are important, so are hand and foot masks
Use lip scrubs regularly
Weekly or bi-monthly at home or in salon manicures and pedicures
Look into dry brushing
Have a shaving/ waxing routine
Consider laser/ electrolysis/ IPL for permanent/ semi-permeant hair removal
Have a tanning routine if you want to
Use a body oil (bonus tip: make sure it shimmers for more fun)
Schedule weekly at home spa/ pamper days
Tumblr media
Scent
I had to make this into it's own category just because it's that important.
How to smell good from head to toe, AKA my scent routine
Try to make sure all your body care is the same scent (either all vanilla or all peach or any other scent, Bath & Body Works is AMAZING for this)
Use a perfume oil on your pulse points, Musk and Oud scents from high quality middle Eastern brands are good for these
Have a scent for your clothing, preferably something light and a scent that can go well with most things, vanilla/ coconut/ musky/ florally body mists are good for this
Use a hair perfume, some hair moisturizing sprays have strong scents and can be used as a perfume, make sure it's low in alcohol
Have a signature scent
Rotate between scents every once in a while, this is good for scent association
Have different scents for different occasions, also good for scent association
Experiment with layering different perfumes
Invest in good quality perfumes
Tumblr media
Teeth
Another important one
Brush your teeth 2x at least, preferably after very meal
Floss and use mouthwash
Go to a dentist regularly
Get professional cleaning and/ or whitening if you can
Get any other treatments you need
Whiten your teeth at home
Try oil pulling
Use a tongue scraper
Phase 3 (Mental Wellbeing)
This is quite personal to you but some suggestions:
Meditate
Script daily and practice LOA
Do Yoga daily even if for 5 minutes
Figure out what you need to work on
Identify any toxic traits you have
Identify where your bad habits/ traits come from and cut off the source
Identify anything stopping you from reaching your fullest potential and work on it
See a professional if needed
Essential oils can be helpful
Get enough sleep!!
Don't waste your time on meaningless things/ people/ situations/ etc.
Change your mindset/ attitude if you don't like it
Start each day by dancing, even if for 5 minutes
Affirmations
Schedule mental health days
A journal is great for venting and clearing your mind, as well as organizing your thoughts (it's insane what happens when you visually see your thoughts on paper)
Have a good work ethic and be disciplined
Go on regular dopamine detoxes
Reduce stress (easier said than done, but try to find your triggers and healthy coping mechanisms, research all there is to know and experiment until you have it under control)
Compliment other people, and accept compliments graciously
Enjoy the small things and romanticise your life
Phase 4 (Look your best)
Fashion
Re-evaluate your wardrobe
Upgrade your basics
Look into creating a capsule wardrobe
Figure out if you are more into timeless classic pieces or trends
With that being said, be careful with trends
Dress your age
Follow dress codes, please.
Always put in effort
Quality > Quantity
Jewellery can be phenomenal for changing an outfit
Speaking of jewellery, real stones/ crystals/ gold/ silver is best
Color coordinate your outfits, make sure they look cohesive
Wear appropriate shoes
Find style inspo
Handbags can elevate an outfit like no other (my favorite bag from my collection currently is the Bottega Veneta chain pouch in black, incredibly high quality)
Invest in good quality shape wear and undergarments
Wear cute Pajamas ( Upgrade your sleepwear. Trust me.)
Tumblr media
Makeup
Doesn't have to be insane
Less is more
Good skin will make this step a lot easier
Have 5 or so signature looks for every occasion
Learn different techniques/ hacks
Find products that work for you
Keep your routine and collection simple
Tumblr media
Hair
Always put in effort to make sure your hair looks good
Align your washdays with important events/ your schedule
Have 5 or so styles that you like
Minimize frizz and maximise shine
Health > length
Misc.
Have a good posture
And a good tongue posture too
Smile, or smize, not too exaggerated
Phase 5 (Live your best)
Lifestyle
This is, again, quite personal but here are some pointers/ ideas
Start/ end/ continue working on any personal projects
Learn a new skill
Learn a new language
Learn new recipes
Academic/ career goals
Cultivate Friendships and relationships
Network!!
Plan a vacation
Or a staycation
Or a mini trip
If you can't travel then fill your day with fun activities (visiting museums, pilates classes, going to theaters, or exploring local towns/ cities
Make lots of plans with friends
Discover new music
Discover new shows/ movies
Quit social media, or take your instagram to the next level, whatever suits you most
Volunteer
Get a summer job
Follow only the podcasts, blogs, subreddits, accounts etc. that help you reach your goals
Keep up with the news and current world events
Learn the basics of politics, economics, history, geography and philosophy (good conversation topics that show you are educated, they are also genuinely interesting)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Organization
Notion is a game changer
Find a to-do list that works for you
Calendar blocking is a great way to plan your day
Be busy but not too busy
Plan your meals in advance
Schedule any events
Reminders on your phone for important things
Misc.
Cancel any subscriptions you don't want
Keep a diary to recount the events of day
Keep a Bullet journal for lists and fun things to note
Take pictures (Bonus points if it's on an ever so slightly grainy camera)
Figure out how you plan to maintain any changes made and the up keep, whether it be with your weekly facials/ academia/ personal projects/ etc., you have to stick with it!
This summer is going to be amazing <3
Best of luck gorgeous,
Serena

ONE PIECE [Headcanons for Everyday Life - Monster Trio]
Tumblr media
Synopsis: How Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji spend their daily life. (Source)
Word Count: 1,866
MONKEY D. LUFFY
Daily Routine
Does the future Pirate King have a specific routine he follows consistently? Hell no. He's as impulsive and scatter-brained as they come.
His lack of a routine causes more stress to his crew than himself. Luffy can't follow a plan to save his life, much to the dismay of his crew but, having known him for so long, they've adapted well to his shenanigans.
He's the one reassuring the more nervous members of his crew, specifically Nami, Usopp, and Chopper, that everything will be fine.
Whatever interests him at that moment, he'll do. If Usopp invites him to go fishing, he'll compete for who can catch the biggest haul. If he's hungry, despite having eaten a substantial breakfast 30 minutes ago, he'll call for Sanji to cook some meat. If Franky instructs him to assist him with a new invention, he'll happily comply.
Waking Up
Luffy doesn't have a set schedule for when he sleeps - he just does.
He doesn't require as much sleep in the first place - averaging about five hours every day - unless, of course, he's recovering from injuries. In which case, he'll sleep for however long it takes for his body to recover, be it 12 hours or three days.
Be prepared for him to straight-up pass out regardless of the time or place.
He'll make sure he's surrounded by someone he trusts that can protect him, so he doesn't inconvenience them as much, but when he can't prevent himself from getting some shuteye, he'll do it irrespective of consequences.
He wakes up of his own accord, without the prompting of his crew or alarms.
When he wakes up, that's it. He's off to his next adventure. He doesn't need time to get dressed; he proceeds to start the day, wearing the same signature red vest and blue shorts he wore the day before.
First Thing
It doesn't take much for Luffy to get ready when he wakes.
Meat's the first thing he thinks about, stomach growling in anticipation as he rushes off to the kitchen.
The smell of Sanji's delicious cooking is enough to make him alert. He doesn't need any further motivation to start the day.
Eating Habits
Luffy has the most voracious appetite of the crew. In the wise words of Nami, his hunger is absolutely limitless.
On multiple occasions, his appetite had gotten the crew into trouble when he ate every single piece of food that was supposed to last them the journey to their next destination.
If he physically could, he'd eat every second of the day.
He needs meat. That's it. Though, he'll eat pretty much anything.
He's not a picky eater and doesn't have any food allergies.
Hygiene Habits
Luffy puts off showering as much as possible, only doing so once or twice a week.
He prefers lukewarm showers and won't even entertain the idea of a bath.
Showers are quick, about five minutes tops. He's not willing to spend any longer bathing. It's just something he does when Nami and Sanji start complaining about his smell.
He shaves when he showers since he doesn't grow much facial hair. He combines both activities simultaneously.
When shaving, he'll grab whoever's razor is available in the men's shared baths - most likely Zoro's or Usopp's.
He'll grab the closest shampoo or bar/liquid soap, too, applying both to his hair and body. Some days, he'll wash his hair with body soap. Some days, he'll wash his body with shampoo. He doesn't care.
He loves to dry himself with soft and fluffy bath towels since they remind him of Chopper's fur.
He brushes his teeth whenever it occurs to him, thanks to Chopper for reminding him every so often.
And that's the extent of grooming he'll do.
Flossing's pretty much out of the question.
Skincare is non-existent. He washes his face when he showers, which is rare enough as is, using the same soap he uses for his body on his face.
RORONOA ZORO
Daily Routine
The only thing consistent in Zoro's routine is his morning workout. Everything else is fluid.
His training, however, does change depending on what he feels he needs improvement on.
If, for some reason, his morning workout gets interrupted, he gets annoyed though he doesn't hold it against anyone.
He takes great pride in his goal of becoming the world's greatest swordsman, so when circumstances arise where he misses training, he can't help but feel mildly peeved at that moment.
He recovers quickly. After all, he finds strong emotions to distract him from his training. He'd rather resolve the issue himself by working out as soon as in his free time.
Waking Up
Zoro's sleep schedule is not too dissimilar from a cat's. He naps throughout the day, never longer than three hours at a time.
He doesn't use alarms. He'll wake up whenever he wants to.
He has selective hearing when he sleeps, able to discern true danger from the careless bickering of his crewmates.
When he feels unease, he's immediately awake, hands grasping the hilts of his swords, ready to strike at a moment's notice.
If he's recovering from injuries, he'll sleep five hours at max before he regains consciousness. If the injuries are severe enough, he won't move as much, but he'll remain coherent for a while.
First Thing
When Zoro wakes, usually after resting in the crow's nest or on the ship's deck, he starts the day off with a morning workout.
He has incredible self-discipline, refusing to eat breakfast until he completes his workout. Because of his work ethic, he's usually the last person to join the crew for a meal.
He puts off grooming himself until he needs to.
Eating Habits
Zoro prefers drinking alcohol to consuming food.
He understands the need for proper nutrition, however, so he eats whatever the curly brow bastard makes.
Somehow, in their time together, Sanji discovers that Zoro prefers eating rice meals with Sea King meat. Zoro doesn't ever comment on this and just quietly eats.
He eats three standard meals daily - breakfast, lunch, and dinner - with the company of his crew. In between the day, he drinks copious amounts of alcohol.
He hates sweets, so don't even think of giving them to him. It's going to be fed to Chopper or dumped into the trash.
He doesn't ever have food cravings outside of strong alcohol.
His guilty pleasure food is sour gummy candies. Chopper fed it to him once, and Zoro couldn't find it in him to say no, so he took a bite and found it surprisingly enjoyable. He only eats it when Chopper sneakily hands it to him.
Hygiene Habits
Like Luffy, he puts off properly showering as much as possible, doing so only once a week.
This may seem disgusting, especially considering Zoro's inclination to sweat profusely during his intense workout sessions. He does, however, soak in saltwater when he does swimming laps in the sea.
Zoro likes to be clean-shaven. He owns his own razor, and he shaves his facial hair in the bathroom sink every other day. When he has a proper shower, he shaves in the shower instead.
He uses standard liquid body soap and two-in-one shampoo and conditioner, something that Sanji bought the boys to share.
If the soap and shampoo/conditioner runs out, he doesn't say anything. He'll make-do with water.
Usopp has to ask Sanji to buy them new hygiene products when they reach the next island.
You'll never catch him having a bath unless the entire crew goes to an onsen.
He'll slap on some deodorant after a workout as an alternative to showering. It only takes him a few seconds, preferable to spending a few minutes underwater.
Surprisingly, he consistently brushes his teeth and uses mouthwash due to Chopper's insistence. He doesn't want to disappoint, so he does so without complaint.
SANJI
Daily Routine
Without fail, Sanji prepares for bed at 11:30 at night and wakes up when his alarm rings at 5.
His morning routine consists of spending 20 minutes every morning brushing his teeth, washing his face, shaving his facial hair, moisturizing, dressing up, and applying cologne.
His nightly routine is similar with the inclusion of flossing and rinsing with mouthwash. He also prepares his clothing for the next day.
Sanji cares deeply about his appearance, and it shows with the way he grooms himself.
As the chef, he has to abide by a strict schedule since his crew relies on him to prepare everyone's meals.
Waking Up
Sanji's alarm rings at precisely 5 in the morning, and he quickly gets off the bed.
He never snoozes his alarm. It rings no more than three times before he turns it off. He's a morning person.
He has plenty of time to get dressed, having pre-selected his suit the night before.
First Thing
Sanji loves to brew himself a coffee, only with creamer and no sugar, as the first drink to start his day.
While his coffee brews, he prepares a light meal for himself before the rest of the crew wakes.
At 5:30 AM, he's in the kitchen, hard at work preparing everyone else's breakfast.
He is meticulous about his schedule, so if it gets thrown off for whatever reason, he'll feel frazzled.
Eating Habits
When Sanji prepares food for the crew, he quickly eats his own portion immediately after cooking.
He's tried eating after everyone finishes, but it never works out due to Luffy's monstrous appetite. He's had his food stolen by Luffy. Every. Single. Time.
He doesn't eat full meals per se since he taste-tests his food along the way, but he does prepare a decent portion afterward, so he doesn't get hungry.
He rarely eats together with the crew, making sure to cater to everyone's needs during mealtime.
He never wastes food. Ever. He quickly learns everyone's appetite and makes enough food, so there are no leftovers.
With him in the crew, everyone will always taste fresh food.
Having experienced starvation, he never skips the traditional meals, always eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
He doesn't have any food allergies, but he does dislike unhealthy and non-nutritious food.
Hygiene Habits
Sanji is the only man in the crew to shower daily. He has to since he's an avid smoker and cares deeply about presenting himself well to the ladies.
He also handles everyone's meals and is extremely particular in keeping a clean working environment where he cooks.
He has a complete set of hygienic products, ranging from shampoo, conditioner, facial toner, shaving cream, moisturizer, serum, and sunscreen.
He keeps his hair, body, and facial products close to him and refuses to share with the other boys, taking them with him when he's ready to use them and keeping them stashed away in his locker when he's done.
Once he's done showering, he applies deodorant and cologne. The mixed scents work well together and aren't overpowering. Sanji smells damn good, and he knows it.
He likes to shave his facial hair before he showers, perfectly shaping his goatee.
He's not opposed to taking long baths but does prefer cold showers.
He brushes his teeth, flosses, and uses mouthwash every day without fail.
Thanks for reading! 💖

Note
I can not believe there is people out there that tells white people with curly hair that uses black people's hair products is the same as black face but it's not surprising. First off that makes me super happy and proud. It helps support black businesses and including salons. Also to the other anon, this is not a black girl hair trick this is a trick from a woman that I use to live next door to who was from Okinawa. Do rice water rinses, it helped my curls grow out beautifully and less frizz :)

Hey sweetie, so I’ve seen you talk about working out and I think lip care with other girls but I was wondering if you would mind telling me about your hair care routine? I’ve got thick, wavy (but not curly) hair and it tends to get greasy pretty quick. How often do you wash your hair and do you have any products that you’d recommend? Thank you, sis xoxo 🌹
Hi babe I wouldn’t mind at all xx 🌹 I actually have the opposite problem, my hair tends to become dry so I have to wash it every other day and on the days I don’t wash it I still get it soaking wet in the shower. I only put shampoo twice a week though and the other two times I wash it I only put conditioner. I’ll put a screenshot of the shampoo and conditioner under this. I’m not sure if this is a good idea for hair that becomes greasy but I’ve heard that dry shampoos work really well with your hair type in case you don’t want to be washing it so often. About once a month I do a rice water rinse in my hair and I do an apple cider rinse twice a month, it makes it so shiny and it feels so healthy every time I do it so I definitely recommend. As for products, I LOVE Vatika products because they smell absolutely amazing and they make my hair feel really silky, I’d definitely recommend any of their creams but my personal favorites are the Argan Vatika cream and the Vatika naturals (it’s green and has “nourish and protect” written on it). Their egg protein deep conditioning hair mask is also amazing I use it every week. I hope this helped habibti xx 🥰🌹

Fighting Flirty: Special match (V-day)
Special Match
A Valentine Fighting Flirty
Connie Maheswaran yawned as she walked out of Little Homeworld R&D, pockets in her blue lab coat. Morning sunlight was breaking through and unsurprisingly, there were gems already up or who didn’t sleep, roaming around decorating the streets  in red, white, and pink. With hearts, streamers and banners.
“So..It’s here again…Valentine’s day, maybe I can sleep through it.”
The twenty years old let loose a cynical smirk. She had a real distaste for Valentine’s day, always had. It just came off as a bit much and a bit too fake.
All the wanting to suddenly admit your ‘love’ to a person.
“Cause there’s a higher chance of getting a date and or get laid.”
All the expectation of giving or getting a gift or candy.
“Cause it’s what’s lover’s supposed to do, how else are they supposed to express their 24hr surge of romance?”
All the social convention and commercialization.  “Cause being single and not spending money on Valentine day is pathetic.”
She shook her head with a chuckle. She didn’t care for the day, at all.
She stopped in front of Lars bakery, seeing it open with a display of chocolate in a circular black box in the window.
“The chocolate is good though, I’ll give it that.”
A few minutes later she was heading towards her LHW residence, box under her left shoulder. She took in the sights of the gem city and as much as she loathed the holiday, she did take a bit of pride in the fact that the gems were so eager to celebrate it.
She arrived at her residence and arched an eyebrow before a small glow came to her tired cheeks.
In front of her door was a bouquet of red and white Chrysanthemums, surrounding a small 'heart’ of bluebells.
“Mister."
it was a whisper that leaked appreciation. She expected him to give her a gift, even knowing her anti-valentine stance, he always does. She lifted the flowers up and carefully tucking them with the chocolate, before opening the door and finding it unlocked.
Again, not surprised; especially since the whole place had the smell of breakfast being made. Entering and closing the door behind her, she followed the smell to the kitchen and there he was.
Big limbed, big torso, lightly tan skin, curly hair, deep almond eyes, and slightly whiskered face. Wearing his black button-up, dark blue jeans with a star buckle belt, pink and blue sneakers. The pink apron was a new addition though.
She gently placed the chocolate down on the table and the flowers in the suspiciously new vase on her island…Which happened to be filled with water, before walking behind him and wrapping he arm around him, resting her hands on his chest as she snuggled her face into his back, smirking at his beach yet earthy smell.
"Heart Berry, burned the midnight oil I see.”
She groaned cutely, giving her Mister a kiss on the the small on his back, getting a chuckle from him.
“You know, it’s action like this that makes people think we’re more than friends.,”
That earned him a little nip, Making him falsely wince before chucking.
“Brat Berry.”
She looked at what he was making and turned her eyes towards him a bit of a childlike glow in her eyes. “You’re making _ Masala dosa?” _
“Why yes? Yes, I am. Very astute of you.”
Connie groaned suspiciously. “What are you up to?”
“Just doing something nice for you..”
“On February fourteenth…Valentine’s day.”
“Coincidence. ..I know you’re the’ antithesis of Valentines day’.” He laughed a bit at that. “I still  can’t believe you called yourself that.”
“I stand by my claim. I’m happily unattached, I don’t expect nor do I give gifts-”
“Yet you accept gifts and you bought chocolate. ”
“First, I was raised with manners and feel it’s rude to reject.. Second… I have plans for those chocolate.”
He sure she did, especially with the slight dripping of seductiveness coming from voice.
“Continuing…I don’t ever date on valentine’s, nor do I take confessions seriously. They’re getting instantly shut down.”
“Ouch..So if I would say, I want to be with you, you’d shut me down. Hypothetically”
Connie looked up with an arched eyebrow. “Hypothetically, if you were to ask on February fourteenth…I’d tell you to ask again tomorrow.”
Steven laughed loudly at that, as he turned to give her a kiss on her crown. “Go sit Heart Berry. I’ll bring the food over.”
She nodded as she tipped-toe to kiss his whiskered cheek, before following his orders. She took off her lab coat, and hung it behind her chair before sitting down, and laying her top half on the table, stretching forward her arms forward and laying head down. Steven shook his head as he saw her, an adoring grin on his face.
“So..Manners, huh?”
“This is my place..I don’t need manners…Besides-” She turned to him tired but bedroom eyed. “You think I’m sexy without manners.”
He growled at her giving a playfully lustful look himself “Oh yeah, irresistible. Make my motor run.” He signaled her to sit up which she did with a back popping stretch, her chest pressing against her green apple sweater lifting enough to show her navel a little.
She caught the appreciative stare he was giving her, and smirked as she shifted in her chair. “So are you gonna eat with me..or just eat me.”
“You’d be happy either way.”
“Does that mean I can have both.”
Steven shook his head as he placed her food down in front of her, and his across from  her. She took a bite of the crepe like food, moaning at the taste of the rice, potatoes coconut oil, spices and seasoning. She took a second bit and her eyes widen at the two other favors, she gave him an accusatory smile.
“Durian and lamb…”
“Two of your favorites, yes.”
“Hmm..Seems very Valentine-ish.”
“Well, I ‘Do’ Valentines day.”
Connie sighed. “I -I know, and I don’t.”
“I know.”
Connie was about to respond when Steven caught her off guard wiping her lip, before giving her a peck.
“You appreciate my gestures all the same, that’s fine by me.”
Connie turned away blushing trying to fight her smile. “Well..it’s you after all…” She took a bite of the food again savoring the taste.
“Exactly.”
She didn’t say anything as a smile enveloped on her lips. The silence was comfortable and serene almost like a newlywed breakfast.  Once they finished the food, feeling more than satisfied, Conie went up stairs to freshen up, hiding a bit of guilt as she did. Going into her room to get her some sleepwear, a towel, and stripping bare before heading across from her room to the bathroom and into the shower. As the slightly hot water cascade over her; she gathered the chai and lilac body wash/shampoo she always wears and he loves so much on her, making it a foam and lathering it upon her. As she soaped and bathed herself, she sighed both in relaxation and remorse.
“This was a nice way to start the day. A very touching way to today. Flowers, food, and my favorite guy… I’m happy and I appreciate it…It’s just..This day…I wish I could enjoy it like he does.”
She grimaced as she rinsed the soap out of her body and hair, the thoughts getting more deprecating. “The flowery words, the extravagant  gestures…I can do without it, but he loves It and deserves it…I want to give it to him.”
She held herself looking down, tears falling in heartbreaking shame, mixing with the shower water. “I don’t think I can give him that. Romance like that.”
Connie wiped her tears as she took a deep breath, turning off the shower as she did. Putting on her sleepwear; An old pink hoodie of his with some black spandex, she shook her head and went to her bedroom.
“Hey Heart Berry.”
She smirked at Steven, he was laying on her just made bed, shoes near hers. She realized her clothes were picked up and in the hamper. She wiped her eye again.
“Thanks for this Steven..I appreciate the gestures…Sorry about you having to pick up my underwear and such.”
“Well, that was more for me than you.”
“Right..”
Steven arched an eyebrow at her low and downtrodden voice. He opened his arms, beckoning  her to lay with him.
She did with no real enthusiasm. She laid her head on his heart, loving the beat of it, the tenderness of his touch on her hips, back and hair.  The security of being in his arms and the feeling of endearment when his lips touched her head. She couldn’t stop herself from wrapping her arms around his torso and locking his leg between her thighs.
“What’s wrong, Connie?”
“Nothing."
She had her head down in his chest, refusing to look at him. "Just… Wish I could do more for you.”
“Huh?"
"In the romance department.”
Steven arched an eyebrow at that statement. “What do you mean?”
Connie growled in annoyance. “Romance…Valentines day..Everything you did so far…”
“Thought you enjoyed what I did?”
“I do.” She looked up at him, her eyes a bit wet. “I love that I got a bouquet of my birthday flowers and the flowers you named after me.  Adore ,the fact that you made an authentic south asian breakfast for me with two of my favorite foods. Touched that you made up my bed and put my clothes away, so I could go straight to sleep. Probably even here, just cause you know I sleep better when you’re around.”
“Yes, but I like cuddling with you too..Definitely when you’re wearing that body wash.” He chuckled giving her temple a kiss, getting a sigh out of her.
“Even your playing around has an aura of romanticism.”
“It is Valentine’s day.. The day of romance.”
“Yeah and I suck at Valentine’s day…At the whole romance thing.”
“I mean romance isn’t really a-”
He stopped when he looked at her blank stare; The Maheswaran stare of indifference. She only uses that when he crossed the line on a serious matter.  Steven looked at her stroking her cheek. ”No pretence?”
“100% percent real talk.”
Steven nodded. “ Fine…Connie.. First thing.. Yeah, you’re not a big romantic, that’s not you. That’s not what I expected from you when we started our ‘breathers’ .
Breathers…The original name of their ‘war game’, or more accurately what their game evolved from. Just a time they set for each other where they kissed, brushed and made the other feel relaxed though talking and  admittedly amorous actions, it worked wondrously. Connie didn’t feel tense about her school work or LHW R&D. Steven didn’t feel stress over gem stuff and diamond duties. Those quite impersonal, very physical, breathers took the first step to their ‘ not-relationship ’when Connie shook him to his core for the first time.
Connie looked wide-eyed at the name, but didn’t say anything.
“I didn’t expect this..Bae-friendship to come from that.”
Connie looked down feeling embarrassed only to have him lift her chin up to him and give her a chaste kiss on the lips.
“But you set the catalyst for it. Not that I regret it.. “
Connie, blushed turning away. “No I didn’t, you flirted and teased me first.”
“The night before in the dome. Remember that.”
Steven smirked as Connie grew redder as she recalled the night.
He was having a particularly bad day. The gems were at each other necks over something at little home school, Jasper and Lapis got into it, nearly flooding half of little homeworld, and  Spinel needed advice dealing with the diamonds (cause he has experience with that, apparently). He was able to do it, but he was pink and flaring a bit by day end, due to the stress.
He remembers sitting in the dome silently trying to relax enough to retract the flares and  drop the pink when she came in. She gave him a gentle, sad smile before sitting by him, pulling his head into her lap. She looked down at him playing with his hair tenderly, before dipping close to him. What he was expecting was rain of kisses upon his cheek..What he got was heartfelt praise, gentle flirting and the “Bisky” title.  It actually made him tear up a bit even more so when she disallowed any gem, including White, to see him until he was ready.
He would never forget the way she looked at him. The proud smile she gave him through moist, dazzling eyes. The look was something he didn’t think he ever got from anyone and it planted something deep in his heart. a desire to make her happy, to make her feel cherished and loved like no other..like she did him at that moment.
From there the teasing and flirting began and the rest is history.
“You remember the things you said to me”
Connie groaned as she threw the hood up covering her face, but nodding nonetheless  Steven laughed as he pulled her in close. His lioness, his minx, his Heart Berry; was now a shy little cub something he hardly ever gets to see..
“It wasn’t out of romance or something..”
He snickered  “Of course, it wasn’t.”
“Stop mocking me.”
“I’m not!”
The roughness in his voice stilled her. Furthermore, when he took off her hood and kissed her tear. “You’re not romantic. You’re passionate, heartfelt, prideful, valorous, flirtatious, impish, amorous, honest and a whole bunch of other stuff that  really doesn’t come close to how amazing you are. You don’t mince words and you don’t do anything half-ass. Rather it’s missions, studying and school work, working at R&D or making me fall for you for the umptenth time. You don’t need to try to be romantic and like valentines day or whatever.”
Connie pouted, folding her arms “What about you though? You like the big gestures of romance and all the fanfare of valentines day. Wouldn’t you appreciate it if I joined in.. Do something extravagantly romantic for you?”
“You mean like the dressing and stripping game at empire, or the game tag throughout the Hattan streets, or not only the private dance in your room, but the performance on New year eve.”
Steven had to hold his chuckle in as Connie once again found her with her hood on.
"Those…Those were more flirtatious and playful than romantic.”
“Ah! You admit that they are romantic on  some level.”
She shrugged. “I concede they could be seen as romantic..but romance wasn’t my attention.”
“I know, it was all part of our war game right?”
“No..I mean it was for fun…But"
Steven looked on at her, knowingly, as she grabbed his hand and massage the back of them.
"You’re my …Sunshine?”
Steven looked at her wide-eyed, before snorting.
“W-what?!”
“I’m not good at this valentine-romance thing ok!”
“That was an attempt at romanticism!?”
“Ugh! Yes, but I’m a cynic at romance and Valentine’s day. I wanted to do something romantic  for you.”
“You sounded so strained, Nini.”
With a groan she let go of his hands. “See…You can say and do all this Valentine-ish stuff, no problem. I can’t even say a goddamn line.”
She leaned forward into him, placing his arms around her waist and midsection.
Steven looked down with a smirk at Connie who was looking up with a grimace.
“You hate this day, so why is this so important to you?”
Connie stared deeply and purposefully at Steven before breathing in.
“Because it’s you, Steven. I don’t care about the day or what it romance represents. I care about you and you like this stuff. That’s why it’s important. You deserve to know how much I adore you, care for you and love you. As my best-friend, my jam bud, My bae…As my Mister and my Man.”
“I’m not your sunshine. Sad.”
Connie snickered at his joke. “You’re more of a starlight than a sunshine.”
Steven poked her nose playfully. “Banned.”
“What?”
“That joke’s banned, no diamond or gem stuff while we’re in bed.”
Connie giggled as she held him tight. “I love you, Bisky.”
“I figured…I didn’t wanna assume though."
That got him a small nip on his chin. "You're  a punk, Mister."
Steven smiled at the playful pout on Connie’s face, before giving her bottom a small pinch "Brat.”
“He-MMM~MMM”
Connie yelp was interrupted by Steven. His lips upon her, his tongue gently teasing her own. The feeling of him pulling her closer to him.
She was all but melted as she caressed his jaw with her left hand and ran her right hand through his hair; kissing him back with each second adding  more fervor to the moment.
The two broke the kiss after a few minutes. Both a bit more light headed and lighthearted as they laid back down. Connie let out a purr-ish sound as Steven rubbed her back, causing the hybrid to laugh.
“You really are a lioness aren’t you."
She looked up before giving him a quick nibble on his bottom lip.
"Rawr!”
Steven smirked as he continued  to rub her back, until he sighed a few moments; a deep sigh.
“Ni’.”
“Hmm..Is this fate of the world related…gem related or diamond related?”
“Nini.”
“If it’s not, then let’s bask in this happy moment, before my cynicism flares up again.”
“Connie. It’s important.”
Connie breathed deeply  before signaling him to continue.
“You know, I love you and what we have right?”
“Had a hutch.”
“Come-
"You didn’t give me a straight answer, either.”
Steven chuckled outta breath as he shook his head. “Anyway, before I lose my train of thought.”
“I-”
“No, listen!”
Connie laughed against his chest, when she heard him grow deeply She looked up at his glare and chuckled a bit more before giving him a few kisses and nip on his chin and neck, making  him chortle himself. She gave his windpipe a quick suckling before backing off..Not before getting a snarl from him.
“So what was you about to tell me?”
Steven kissed his teeth at her cheeky expression, nodding as he did.
“You see what you just did. That is exactly  why you’re wrong.”
“About?”
“About you not being good at romance and valentines day.”
“What, that just now. That was just me playing…Me being coquettish…Trying to bring a smile to my Mister face. Nothing out of the ordinary”
“Exactly.”
Connie gave him a confused stare.
“You don’t need to force yourself to be romantic or extravagant on Valentine’s day to show me how you feel about me..and whatever we have.”
Steven kissed the top of her crown, smiling at the blush on her face. “365 days a year. Every chance you get, you show me. Through your actions, through our games, through our outings, through those very private times together… Times like this.”
Connie held him tight as he spoke. Snuggling her face into the crook of his neck, giving his temple a kiss.
“Connie…You’re loving, passionate, caring and tender. On the flipside you’re an impish, seductive, sexy and sensual little tease. That’s all year round.”
“Only for you, Bisky.” Connie giggled as she kissed his neck. “Not like you can talk, Punk."
"I’m not hiding that I’m a flirt..Besides you love it, Brat Berry.”
Steven chuckled that husky, teasing chuckle reserved for her as he rested his forehead on hers. The two gazed into each other eyes, love clearly in them.
“…You don’t have to celebrate valentine’s day, just because I do..”
“You say that but..I feel like a bad Jam-bae.”
“That’s a new one.”
Connie cheeks burned as she cleared her throat. “..If I didn’t do something. You made my morning something special. Isn’t wrong to want to do the same.
"What makes you think you didn’t? You held me when I cooked in a way you never did before. You were basically glowing when you ate my food.”
“The flowers are beautiful and the food was delicious. I appreciated what you did.”
“And that means everything to me. You could have just wrote it off as something I did for Valentine’s day and moved on, but you didn’t. You tired from whatever you were working on at LHW R&D, decided that eating and talking with me was more important than getting sleep. That means a lot. That made my Valentine’s.”
Connie let loose a tearful laugh. “Got such a schmaltzy man in my life.”
“You're  a bit schmaltzy yourself,  Sunshine..or would you like me to call you twilight. ”
“Oh, shut up…Those jokes are banned remember…and I’m not schmaltzy”
Steven arched an eyebrow in disbelief. “Sure.. What about the chocolates you brought.”
“The chocolate..Hehe..There’s nothing schmaltzy about what I got planned for those.
Steven fought the anxious grin on his face backing his head up.
"Oh really..What you have planned, Minx?”
“Just for us to share it together.”
The seductive sound of her voice, the little bite  and lick of her lip.and that amorous look in her black orbs. She had something planned.. something big, something fun..Something private.
She gave him a quick peck before speaking . “Just need time to prepare.”
With a giggle, she got off his lap laid back onto her bed, finally feeling the night before upon her, yawning while stretching.
Steven stroked her head with a caring smile. “Finally tired, huh?”
Connie nodded, her eyelids drooping heavily. “Emotional based adrenaline gone. Very happy knowing how you feel. Now, I needs my sleep.”
“Fair..Want me to put you to sleep?”
Connie looked up suspiciously. “You wanna tuck me in?”
Steven gave her a very specific grin. “No.”
Connie giggled before smiling. “ Come under, Mister.”
Steven gave her a dangerous smile as he slipped under with her. Her eagerness for him  fought off her previous fatigue and urged her to pull him over her, initiating a deep kiss that would lay him down upon her. His hips between her legs, hands  longer upper and lover back, as her found his shoulders and chest..
they broke the kiss..after a few more chaste ones after resting their now sweaty heads against each other. They  were far from done, but they took a few minutes to admire and adore the person they were with, peppering each other with butterfly  kisses and getting light love filled laughter from each other.
It wasn’t soon those butterflies became bites deep kisses and sucklings, that laughter became  loving whispers and gasp of each other’s name. Their holds, turning to gentle caresses, strokes and private movements.
It would be an hour before they relaxed. Bed a mess as were they themselves. Both bare top, with Connie disheveled head laying on Steven chest, sleeping peacefully, as Steven himself felt his eyelids getting heavy himself, allowing sleep to take him as she stroked Connie hair, his last thought was how this was the best Valentine day he ever had..and it was all thanks to his little Valen-cynic.

How to Prevent Ingrown Hairs, According to Dermatologists Guide 2020
Whether you are a guy or a girl, you have likely experienced it. you understand, pesky ingrown hairs.
We have been there before and also have coped with"ingrown woes". But lumps be gone! As a result of Whish all-natural skincare products, we have developed a range of incredible formulations that can combat ingrown hairs, inhibit hair growth, exfoliate, and moisturize skin. Therefore, you can bid farewell to those reddish bumps post hair removal.
Tumblr media
You deserve to stay in a bump-free Earth, so let us get to the root of the issue (pun completely intended) and tell you all that you want to learn about ingrown hairs, such as products made with natural ingredients and safe to get long-term usage like our bestselling ingrown hair serum.
Ingrowns may be among the most bothersome skin issues because a great deal of folks do not understand what causes them making it hard to stop and cure them. We have done the search for you, so let us take a look at a few of the usual causes of ingrowns.
Genetics
Individuals who have curly hair kinds are more inclined to have ingrown hairs since the hair follicle doesn't grow up and out, causing it to bend back in the skin, thus getting irritated. In case you've got curly tresses, then we constantly advise keeping a jar of our sterile hair on-hand!
Our skin is continually sloughing off dead skin cells that can clog pores, blocking the pathway for hair to grow out and from skin barrier because it obviously needs to, inducing, yep, you guessed it, ingrown hairs. If you are currently dealing with clogged pores and ingrowns, then you require a skincare regimen (full with an ingrown hair serum) to clean up you. If you're searching for something to see to your face (guys and gals), then we surely love our Renewing Mud Mask. This small gem greatly moisturizes and reduces pores, exfoliates and removes dead skin and contains a gentle natural retinol replacement named Bakuchiol.

You will reap all the benefits of this retinol replacement including decreased fine lines and wrinkles, smoother skin texture, reduction in hyperpigmentation, discoloration, and discoloration. This magical ingredient assists in the practice of cell turnover to show new, exquisite skin.
Ever gone a little mad with all the tweezers? Do not worry! Although tweezing can offer a fast fix, in addition, it can break the hair just beneath the epidermis, resulting in painful, nasty ingrowns. If you are a successive tweezer, we then advocate pruning as soon as you've cleansed your face and always use clean tools. A jar of our sterile hair serum does not hurt to have about, either.
Sharpen those razors, gentlemen and ladies! Employing a dull razor without shaving lotion is merely requesting hairs. Furthermore, if you are guilty of yanking skin tightto acquire that extra close shave, it may cause the hair to stay beneath the skin once pressure is released--placing you at risk for ingrowns.
To get a silky-smooth shave, so do not hold skin tight and consistently use a sharp razor, warm water, and a moisturizing shave lotion .
Tumblr media
Waxing is a fast way to remove hair, but it isn't painless. Add ingrown hairs to the mixture and you are likely not feeling that good about your bikini anymore. Like shaving and tweezing, waxing also can break off hairs just under the surface of the skin if not implemented properly or the incorrect kind of wax is utilized.
Blend all that with irritation from clothes and clogged pores and you are taking a look at ingrowns galore. Quick! Catch the ingrown hair !
Do Ingrown Hair Bumps Proceed by Themselves? We get this question a great deal and in summary, the solution is yes. If left untreated, ingrowns will gradually go away by themselves. But generally, it is likely to treat ingrown hairs to help speed along the healing procedure.
Among our all-time favourite products is that our Flawless Post Wax & Shave Serum. This ingrown hair serum banishes nasty bruises, ingrown hairs, along with other small imperfections. Our deliciously fresh smelling formula utilizes clinically proven active ingredients which revive skin's suppleness and interrupts hair follicles preventing future development.
In fact, in an double clinical research, 34 percent of individuals who used our sterile hair serum saw a reduction in hair growth in only four weeks! Unlike pharmacy brand ingrown hair serums, which dry out skin, our product soothes and moisturizes with organic ingredients while controlling ingrown hairs. Shaving in the contrary direction of pure hair development is an almost guaranteed way to get ingrown hairs. Always shave in the direction of hair growth to prevent a possibly debilitating issue afterwards.
A whole lot of individuals use rubbing alcohol in your skin to treat acne and ingrowns. Nevertheless, this will further irritate skin by massaging it out. Prevent using rubbing alcohol on your skin and go using an abysmal ingrown hair serum.
Tags Without Lubrication
It is far better not to shave in any way, then to shave dry skin. Prevent painful razor burn and ingrowns, using a moisturizing shave lotion.
Tumblr media
Shaving using a Dull Blade
Bear in mind, shaving cuts the hair in a sharp angle which makes the hair more inclined to re-enter skin and become bloated.
Not Heard Before Hair Removal
Give yourself the best chance at preventing ingrown hairs, by massaging skin before hair removal. By sloughing off dead skin cells, then you are going to reduce your odds of clogged pores.
Not Heal Skin Following Hair Removal
When it's waxing, shaving, tweezing, you name it, consistently moisturize after eliminating hair.
