I always hated that aphmau’s (or Jessica idk I haven’t watched her in years aside from revisiting MiD) ONLY black character is Rhys. And I just KNOW not a SINGLE black person was in the room/call with her when designing him (or whoever designed him) because his hair is ATROCIOUS. Like, I read somewhere that they were originally gonna give him dreads, and I’m like “WHY DIDNT THEY GIVE HIM THAT INSTEAD OF THAT GOOFY FLOOFY LOOKING HAIR!?” I get it if it was hard to model in a skin for Minecraft, but if that’s the case why not give him cornrows?💀

like I’ve always been a fan of aphmau before she REALLY started pertaining to the itty bitty kids that watch her channel and it’s kinda disheartening that my race isn’t represented well in ANY of her series (aside from one I think? But I heard it FLOPPED) Not only that, Rhys gets like, the least love out of any other Daemos😭 I love him but it’s hard to find anyone else who’s post isn’t from like MONTHS ago. (Like srsly it’s really rare to find someone who’s fav character is Rhys) And he’s SO underdeveloped. That’s a problem with every character that Aphmau’s ever wrote though. ESPECIALLY her male characters like they act like children when they’re FULL GROWN ADULTS. But I feel with Rhys it’s especially apparent cus his only character trait frfr is “smart fella not a fart smella” and like dang give him something else to work with😭

I also would’ve loved if they would’ve let the daemos find out the culture of some of their races. Cus I know Rhys favorite rapper would’ve been Kendrick and he would choke out Noi if he ever said “Eminem’s better cause he raps faster!” Just a small tiny rant though this was just something that bugged me.

I went from denial after being spoiled on twitter to sadness bc I realized it was actually happening to anger and now I'm at a low simmering level of constant rage bc some of those "fans" on the bird app have no critical thinking skills.

like, JJ shouldn't have ended that way, but I understand fully why Rudy wanted to leave. but that doesn't mean I'm accepting canon. I'm actually already having the story in my head how it's gonna go, I just need to finish this semester and actually pass my exams before I can go back to writing and hopefully posting it.

like, I'm still a bit angry, but I went through all the stages of grief and chose to stick with new stage 6 which is "literary necromancy"

kk last post before I lock in and finish Chapter 3 of the rewrite BUUUUTT.

I finally gotten around to watching the aphmau vid where Rhys comes back! (Lowkey was suffering. I forgot how squeaky they make their voices) and yknow BEFORE he talked I was like “wow! She actually brought him back! Forehead kinda big but that’s fine!”

and then….he started TALKING. EWWWWWW. I’d rather have her bring back the white dude that voiced Rhys in like the beginning of MID than THIS. Like does she have no black friends? Not a single person darker than peanut butter?

It got worse as the video went on cus she had him die in the most disrespectful way possible. Bro got thrown and exploded to his death😭

like how are you gonna bring back your only black character after YEARS and then kill him off like that??? Worst part is I don’t think he’s appeared since like that was canon bruh💀 And then after he died SHE SOLVED THE DANG PUZZLE BROOOO

like…that felt personal dude. Lowkey hurt my soul😭 maybe if he comes back again it’ll be better but still

My friend was hating on him while we were playing the other day and I was HEARTBROKEN. I love pickles so much, he is such a goofy and sweet kid <3 one of my faves fr!!

AND I LOVE THAT LMAOOO I SEE ANY SCRAWNY, BRUNETTE, MUSTACHED MAN AND I AM ALL "RHYS???" GOD, I LOVE HIM LMAOOO. The mustache has definitely grown on me, though 🫣
