I thought King Rhoam was a kinda tragic character,,, even if he chose the path of the helicopter tiger mom 😔

It was sad to see that he never got the chance to mend his relationship with Zelda, since he seemed to really love her...

On another note, in botw Zelda was only 17 or so, but the king already had white hair and looked pretty aged. Did he have Zelda rather late, or did he already have white hair (like a Sheikah), or did he just age quicker due to stress? Either way, I can't imagine Rhoam without a full beard, so here's younger Rhoam with a smaller santa beard lol

i feel like the most interesting aspect of rhoam (to me at least) that not enough people talk about is the dissonance of post botw link and zelda's memories of him? like, zelda remembers a king who maybe loved her, but even so was a terrible father, who put duty before sentimentality, who constantly pressured her, restricted her, and was just an all-around asshat and a prick. link remembers a fun, mischievous old man, who was the first person he met after his hundred year nap, who was the person who taught him how to navigate the world, to use an axe, to hunt, to cook.

i just feel like link would have trouble linking the old man to the king, and zelda the king to the old man. i feel like link doesn't like cooking the spicy meat and seafood fry around zelda. i feel like zelda feels ever-so-slightly bitter whenever link uses the paraglider, or wears the warm doublet. i feel like zelda sometimes wonders what her life would've been like, if only her father was the old man, instead of the king.

You know what be briliant liushen Botw au. Like both either reincarnaited there or system is pulling something again.

Either way everithings pretty semiliar to canon at the start calamity comes lot of people die zelda awakens to her power and as a treat gets sqq's memories back just to see someone so like Liu Qingge has died. Devastating i know, the shekah take link to the shrine and sqq with a heavy heart goes to the castle.

100 years go by and someone wakes In the shrine its not Link or even Luo bighe its Liu Qingge whos memory is very spotty but he knows he regognizes the Voice that woke him. When he thinks about it its like late afternoon tea, bamboo leaves fluthering In the wind and a smile hiden behind a fan.

He meets the old man, he seems little take a back when he tells him that his name is Liu Qingge.

But he doesent let it bother him too much. There are monsters In this place. They are a hinderens but fighting is like breathing to him.

When he activates the tower he can hear the Voice of tea, bamboo and hiden smiles again. It tells him To try to remeber, he has been asleep for a hundred years it feels longer than that

He sees the beast like dark shadow trying to snuff out the light and just for a moment he can see a difrent scene of beast of a man with blood red eyes (and no ganon isint bighe... Or is he?)

The rest of the platou goes as usual Liu Qingge goes through the shrines and gets To the Temple of time however as he prays to Hylia for a heart containor the statue also gives him a fan.

Its quit old but In good codition. Theres a bamboo design upon it that makes Liu Qingges heart ache. And He remebers, not everithing not even close.

But he holds on to a memory of sqq smile as the him In the memory tells sqq to for the love of god stop leaving his fans all over the place!

Then of course the old man reveals he was the king all along, he tells Liu Qingge that his name is aperently suposed To be Link. Its a name that to him feels lukewarm at Best but wont mind too much if people call him by it.

The king tells him what happend 100 years prior and that he needs to go save his daughter.

And so there two posible ways its gonna go from there either Liu Qingge will just go and storm the castle the moment he gets Off the platou

Or he finds a good weppon and then storms the castle. My dude has a fan to return and doesent want To be slowed down.

So anyways things happend Liu Qingge storms the castle kills the blights and ganon sqq apears annnd

Sqq: i have To ask... Do you really remeber me?

Liu Qingge takes out the fan that the Hylia statue gave him:... you need to stop leaving youre fans all over the place

Sqq:... Liu-shidi?

Liu Qingge nodds and gets knocked over as Sqq hugs him. (theres posibility of kisses too)

And of course afterwards they get to actually Explorer Hyrule and do all the fun stuff! You bet sqq is 100% the compendium.

Thinking about Breath of the Wild Zelda who, once the Calamity is over, feels hesitant to go near any civilization. Link sort of understands, replaying the words her father said in his mind:

"Do you know what the gossip mongers refer to you? They are out there, at this moment, whispering amongst themselves that you are the heir to a throne of nothing. Nothing but failure."

There really is no avoiding the truth of the matter: she did fail. So many people perished because she couldn't access her power in time.

But so did he.

Link ran away from Hyrule Castle once he realized the Divine Beasts were not coming to help defeat the Calamity. He gave up on his mission before it ever truly began. By Zelda's logic, the people should have hated him too.

But the stories the people today tell of him, the songs that Kass sings, show that he was so cherished and loved. They remembered him for 100 years.

And if they could forgive him for what he did, then it can only be ascertained that they would forgive her too.

He stokes the campfire they've made at one of the makeshift campsites and murmurs,

"They'll love you. Promise."

He thinks it goes unheard, as most of his words tended to in the distant past, but her ears flick ever so slightly, rosy in the firelight.

"I hope so," she whispers back, pulling her knees closer to her.

Was working on some timeline stuff for my Astor WIP and realized that he and Rhoam actually meet several times. A few hours later I saw a post revealing that *apparently* Astor is taller than Rhoam.

Suddenly I had a cursed thought: what if, instead of getting with Zelda's mom, he got with her dad? And this toxic crackship was born

So yeah have this high effort shitpost <3
