INTERVIEWS - ADULT FAME DR
REMINDER! I haven’t shifted yet, so all these is just my imagination 🤍
masterlist - main mastelist
Interviews, a dynamic form of communication, serve as a gateway to understanding individuals, their experiences, and their perspectives. Whether conducted for journalistic purposes, research, or casual conversation, interviews unravel stories, insights, and the diverse tapestry of human narratives. Through questions and answers, interviews facilitate connection, exploration, and the exchange of knowledge, offering a platform to explore the depth and richness of the human experience.
THE TONIGHT SHOW - JIMMY FALLON
2019
Appearing on "The Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon was an absolute blast. We sat down to discuss my upcoming film, "Knives Out," diving into the intriguing details of the project. The conversation seamlessly flowed from the movie to my recent photoshoot, which evidently left everyone with their mouths agape. Jimmy, true to his playful style, explored various facets of my life, including my marriage with Penn, a topic we hadn't openly discussed before. The atmosphere was light and enjoyable as we delved into a range of topics, spiced up by games that had us both laughing. The entire experience was a perfect blend of fun, genuine conversation, and a touch of Jimmy's signature humor, making it a memorable night on "The Tonight Show."
HOT ONES - SEAN EVANS
2021
Appearing on "Hot Ones" was an exhilarating experience that blended spice, humor, and insightful conversations. While I might not have aced the wing challenge, the intense flavors added a unique element to the interview. Adorned with plenty of jewelry, devouring wings proved to be a slight challenge, adding an amusing twist to the fiery ordeal. Sean Evans skillfully steered the conversation through my future projects, providing a platform to discuss everything from quarantine experiences to the unexpected hobbies I explored in my free time. The entire encounter was a flavorful journey, where the heat of the wings mirrored the warmth of engaging discussions on "Hot Ones."
WIRED AUTOCOMPLETE INTERVIEW
2021
The Wired Autocomplete Interview was a solo adventure filled with fun, especially after just wrapping up filming for the new sequel "Top Gun: Maverick." As I navigated through the most searched questions about me on the internet, the queries ranged from the infamous kiss between Andrew Garfield and Ryan Reynolds at the Golden Globes (an event I attended) to unraveling the story behind a song I wrote five years ago. Exploring topics like my transition from medicine school to acting, the interview provided a platform to address lingering curiosities. The experience was not only informative but incredibly enjoyable, and I left with the feeling that I'd gladly dive into it again.
SPILL YOUR GUTS - JAMES CORDEN
2022
Stepping into the "Spill Your Guts" segment with James Corden alongside Miles Teller was quite the adventure, especially as we discussed our latest film, "Top Gun: Maverick." Rocking a green suit and a white T-shirt, topped off with green nails, I brought a colorful vibe to the interview. Things got personal when they probed about my marriage with Penn, a topic we had kept private since our separation. The questions delved into the reasons behind our divorce, shedding light on a part of my life rarely discussed in the press. To add a twist, there was even a question about revisiting a relationship reminiscent of our (miles and I) teenage years. The segment blended humor, revelation, and a touch of nostalgia, giving viewers a unique peek into the unexpected turns of celebrity interviews.
73 QUESTIONS - VOUGE
2022
Vogue's 73 Questions interviews not only offer a rapid-fire insight into the lives of celebrities but also grant fans an unprecedented peek into their homes. As I navigated through the questions, my fans got to explore various corners of my house, creating a more intimate connection. The inquiries ranged from my hobbies to a tour of my extensive library, where I shared books I've read, those waiting to be explored, and even recommended some favorites. Responding to the curiosity about my culinary skills, I discussed what I enjoy eating and whether I possess any culinary prowess. To add a musical note, they asked me to play the piano, a personal touch that added an extra layer to the interview. Vogue's 73 Questions not only captures the essence of celebrities' lives but also establishes a direct and engaging connection with the audience.
VANITY FAIR LIE DETECTOR
2023
Participating in Vanity Fair's Lie Detector interview alongside Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively was an absolute riot, made even more memorable by the fact that I wore an entire pink outfit that drew compliments. The atmosphere was lively and playful throughout, and we had an incredible amount of fun. In a particularly memorable moment, Ryan turned the tables on me, asking about a quirky incident during quarantine when his beloved Canadian maple syrup mysteriously disappeared. Despite my denial, the lie detector hilariously exposed the truth, and Ryan, who has a deep love for that syrup, was genuinely offended. The revelation left us all in fits of laughter, and Ryan playfully expressed his dismay, sharing that he had to wait a whopping two years to go back to Canada and buy his cherished maple syrup again. The Lie Detector interview, with its blend of humor, fashion flair, and unexpected revelations, became a delightful and beautiful experience.
THE TONIGHT SHOW - JIMMY FALLON
2023
During my recent appearance on "The Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon, we delved into the exciting details of my upcoming film, "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo." Jimmy expressed his admiration for the character and my performance, playfully saying "I think the academy is calling Winter!" Our conversation extended to the source material, the book, where we shared our favorite scenes and discussed the nuanced differences between the film adaptation and the literary masterpiece. I revealed that I was already a devoted fan of the book before the film was announced, and my audition was fueled by a genuine love for the character of Evelyn Hugo. Expressing how the role had elevated my craft, I shared with Jimmy that stepping into Evelyn's shoes was not just acting; it was a transformative experience. At the premiere, I found myself feeling more like Evelyn Hugo than Winter Jackman, a testament to the immersive joy that this role brought to my journey as an actress.

The first five MRU universes
So again, gonna be a while before these actually happen because I want to actually write out the process of Piper stealing the HMG research, some of the preparations for Launch Day, and the actual First Activation, and I'm waiting until after I finish the Wonder Arc to write those so I don't end up abandoning it half-finished for months. But I at least wanted to list them out.
Again, universe 1 is basically the Test Universe, while 2-5 are in one batch that gets activated all at once.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Anchor: Link
Supervisor: Trinity
MRUs: 0 and 1
To justify having references to every game (because why wouldn’t it) Time Portals appeared basically everywhere at the same time the Memes did. Also, the Internet Graveyard got merged with the Wild-Era Sacred Realm (which was obviously never visited and is at the current End of the timeline so it doesn’t mess anything up and I can do whatever I want with its aesthetic). Yes, whoever did the setup had to get every Korok seed so the Key Items menu couldn’t canonically update and potentially break something. They did, in fact, get a raise for that.
Hamtor Tubez
Anchor: Doc the Hamtor
Supervisor: GIF
MRUs: 2 and 3
A puzzle game about leading Hamster-like creatures called Hamtors through elaborate tube mazes. Doc is a Mad Scientist and the leader of the Hamtors and is training them for when he will one day TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!!!, and there’s other unique Hamtors with special abilities that get introduced throughout the game as new puzzle elements.
Beneath the Faerie Mound
Anchor: Frida
Supervisor: Quazar
MRUs: 4 and 5
A metroidvania about a Changeling who gets Taken Back and has to fight her way out of Faery Country so she can return home. She initially thinks that MRU5 is another faerie who's come to try Taking her again.
The Fairly Oddparents!
Anchor: Timmy Turner
Supervisor: Spreadsheet
MRUs: 6 and 7
Look, making the Pokemon Anime universe part of the AU has set the precedent for also being able to use cartoons as SMG/MRU universes instead of just Games.
Interestingly, the Memes changing things to make the universe more entertaining undid a lot of the later season retcons, especially the Season 9 ones, so a lot of the characters are actually less Mean and Stupid than before. I'm using kid Timmy because he's the Real One so the live action movies and That One Spinoff aren't canon outside of memes, but Nicktoons Unite and its sequels are. So are seasons 9 and 10, 10 because I happen to like Chloe (or at least what she had the potential to be) and 9 because I think it would be funny to have Sparky be The Thing We Never Speak Of among the characters who would know about him.
Janitor of Heart: Stain Rising
Anchor: Rodney Teegan (Champion Form only)
Supervisor: Connectivity
MRUs: 8 and 9
A Magical Girl Beat-'em-Up that's actually a tie-in to an in-universe comic series called Rodney Teegan: Janitor of Heart.
The premise of the comic series is that a girl named Mina Reynolds who is Exactly the sort of person you'd expect to be a Magical Girl Protagonist gets her chance to when her school is attacked by a goop monster (part of an eldritch being known as The Stain) and she finds a magic bracelet containing the Spirit of Heart, Harmony, who chooses her as the Champion of Heart. But, when she tries to transform, some wires get crossed somewhere and the bracelet's power instead flows into Rodney Teegan, a 57-year-old janitor who Mina considers a close friend and who was with her when she found the bracelet. And because the transformation is based on what Mina wanted to look like as a magical superhero, he ends up in the body of a teenage girl with a cute poofy pink outfit. Whoops.
In his Champion form, Rodney has the expected enhanced strength, and can heal very quickly, but his main power is being able to turn cleaning supplies into weapons. It can be something as simple as a broom (in fact his signature weapon is a spear made from a push broom) or as massive and complex as a street sweeper truck. Also, Harmony isn't just a Cute Mascot Character and actually joins in fighting, mainly using super-strong punches and kicks and acting as a healer. Mina still has the bracelet (it actually can't come off at all) and needs to be nearby in order for Rodney and Harmony's powers to work. I have not come up with what Rodney's hero name would be.
Anyway, the game depicts the events of a particularly large Stain attack, this one being an invasion of the whole city, but other than the larger workload it'd be a fairly normal day (since by this point the three of them are more-or-less used to this since it's been a few months) if not for someone new joining the fray. It turns out that Harmony isn't the only Spirit in town, because we're introduced to the Champion of Storms, Thunderbird, and her Spirit partner Zap. Thunderbird has weather control powers, usually favoring lightning, and has a strange transforming mechanical construct that she uses both as a weapon and mobility aid, usually mechanical wings, giant electrified gauntlets, or supersonic skates. She's fighting the stain too, but has apparently decided to start a rivalry with Rodney's team instead of working with them just 'cause. Also, when her machine isn't in Skate Mode it's revealed that she has a translucent magical construct in place of her right leg.
She's eventually revealed to be Hazel O'Brien, one of Mina's classmates. The machine is her wheelchair, which transformed along with her because why wouldn't it?
Interestingly, Connected Cosmos Company were the ones who made the game, and also the ones who came up with Hazel and her Thunderbird persona. However, due to the terms of the licensing agreement the comic's creator owns the rights to the character, and has made sure that the specific designer in CCC who made her gets the royalties for the character being used in the comic (because the game is canon to the comic and Hazel's now a major character), rather than the company as a whole. She's the one character created by CCC that Jayin doesn't own, and I like to think that grates on her, especially because she can't do anything about it without damaging her company's carefully cultivated reputation.
Anyway, as far as the MRU stuff goes, there is one odd quirk about Rodney's Anchor Status: due to only his Champion Form being playable, his Anchor code is dormant in his normal form. Thankfully this doesn't cause problems for the Meme Cycle or the universe's stability, and it doesn't have the same negative effects as actively suppressing his Anchor Tendencies would. It does, however, make it so his Champion form has a different personality (bubbly airhead with occasional violent tendencies) than his normal form, which is very much Not A Thing in canon.

Growing Into His Dress Code
In the quaint city of Westbrook, a peculiar dress code had become the norm. Every man 18 years old or older wore a shirt and tie, or a full suit daily. Grooming was held to the highest standards, and Mr. Reynolds was a staunch supporter of this unique tradition.
One sunny afternoon, a new tenant named Jason arrived to rent Mr. Reynolds' guest house. As a freelance graphic designer who primarily worked from home, Jason was accustomed to a more casual attire during his creative endeavors. Signing the lease agreement, he noticed an additional clause reinforcing the suit requirement and its extension to everyday living in the guest house.
Curiosity piqued, Jason asked Mr. Reynolds about the dress code's origins and rationale. The landlord's eyes gleamed with pride as he recounted stories of a bygone era, where gentlemen embodied elegance and refinement. Jason listened attentively, initially skeptical of the strict requirements but intrigued by the rich history behind them.
In the first few days, Jason reluctantly donned his shirt and tie, often opting for a white dress shirt or occasionally experimenting with a touch of color. However, he couldn't help but roll up his sleeves during solitary moments, relishing the comfort of casualness in his private space.
Mr. Reynolds, while adamant about the dress code, recognized Jason's compromise and allowed him minor freedom within the confines of the guest house. He agreed that as long as Jason was alone, he could roll up his sleeves. But whenever Jason had to meet Mr. Reynolds in person, he found himself instinctively unrolling his sleeves, tightening his cuffs, and donning a suitcoat without a second thought. It was an unspoken tribute to the respect he held for his landlord and the traditions he upheld.
In the beginning, Jason found himself somewhat ill-equipped to fully embrace the dress code requirements of his new living arrangement. With only a couple of pairs of dress pants and a handful of shirts and ties, his wardrobe felt limited and uninspiring. However, Mr. Reynolds recognized Jason's genuine effort and saw an opportunity to help him fully embrace this way of life.
One sunny Saturday morning, Mr. Reynolds invited Jason for an unexpected outing. Curiosity piqued, Jason accepted the invitation, unaware of the surprises that lay ahead. As they strolled through the city's bustling streets, Mr. Reynolds introduced him to a world of sartorial wonders.
Their first stop was a renowned tailor, where Mr. Reynolds shared his insights on fabric quality, the perfect fit, and the nuances of choosing the right suit. Jason marveled at the meticulous attention to detail and craftsmanship that went into creating a well-tailored garment. Guided by Mr. Reynolds' expertise, Jason selected a couple of impeccably fitted suits, each exuding its own unique charm.
Next, they ventured into a sophisticated men's boutique, where a plethora of shirts and ties awaited them. Mr. Reynolds, acting as Jason's personal style guru, imparted his wisdom on color combinations, pattern mixing, and the art of accessorizing. With each shirt and tie carefully selected, Jason felt a surge of confidence and a newfound appreciation for the myriad possibilities within his grasp.
It was during this shopping spree that Mr. Reynolds introduced Jason to bowties. They perused an array of elegant and quirky designs, exploring different textures, colors, and patterns. With patience and guidance, Mr. Reynolds taught Jason the intricacies of tying a bowtie, ensuring it sat perfectly at the collar of his shirts. After a while, Jason came to prefer the bowtie, which became Jason's signature, a symbol of his growing affinity for the dress code and his own evolving style.
As they perused the shoe store, Mr. Reynolds insisted on adding high-quality dress shoes to Jason's collection, perfectly matching different suit colors and styles. Mr. Reynolds' generosity extended further as he surprised Jason with a selection of essential accessories, including cufflinks, pocket squares, belts, and tie clips.
Not stopping there, Mr. Reynolds also handpicked high-quality underwear, socks, and even a couple of sock garters, emphasizing the importance of attention to detail in achieving a polished and refined appearance. These items were a thoughtful present from Mr. Reynolds, further enhancing Jason's evolving style and commitment to professionalism.
Leaving the shoe store, they next arrived at a traditional barber shop that exuded an air of nostalgia. Stepping inside, they were greeted by the warm hum of buzzing clippers, the scent of aftershave, and the lively chatter of patrons sharing stories.
As Jason sat in one of the comfortable leather chairs, Mr. Reynolds turned to him with a mischievous grin. "Today, my friend, we shall embark on a new chapter of your transformation," he declared, beckoning the barber with a nod.
The skilled barber, with his years of experience etched on his face, listened attentively as Mr. Reynolds explained his vision. He then turned to Jason, meeting his gaze in the mirror. "Trust me, young man," he said, his voice carrying a soothing confidence. "I have a style in mind that will complement your features and maintain the professionalism you strive for."
Jason, intrigued and willing to place his trust in Mr. Reynolds' hands once again, nodded in agreement. However, he did express his reservations about a few hairstyles he felt wouldn't suit him. The barber nodded understandingly, appreciating Jason's desire for a style that felt more aligned with his personal taste.
With a careful eye and skilled hands, the barber set to work, gracefully maneuvering his tools through Jason's hair. As the minutes ticked by, Jason found himself entranced by the transformation unfolding before him in the mirror.
Gently, the barber styled Jason's hair, sculpting it to perfection. He shaped the sides and back, maintaining a clean and polished appearance, while leaving enough length on top to allow for versatility. Jason's hair no longer appeared unkempt; instead, it exuded a sense of purpose and sophistication.
As the barber finished his masterpiece, he twirled his chair to face Jason. The young man's eyes widened with pleasant surprise. His hair, now meticulously coiffed, struck a delicate balance between refined elegance and contemporary charm. It perfectly complemented his facial features, enhancing his overall appearance without compromising his unique sense of self.
Mr. Reynolds, observing Jason's metamorphosis, beamed with pride. Their shared journey had transformed not only Jason but also the bond between tenant and landlord. It was a testament to the power of mentorship, friendship, and the willingness to embrace change.
As Jason stepped out of the barber shop, the warm sunlight caressed his face, and he breathed in the fragrant air of newfound self-assurance. With a final glance back at the barber shop, he nodded to Mr. Reynolds, grateful for the guidance that had led him to this moment.
With his wardrobe now complete, Jason stood before the mirror, admiring the transformation that had taken place. The suits, shirts, ties, and accessories exuded an aura of elegance and sophistication. Every element of his attire had been carefully chosen, each piece coming together to create a harmonious ensemble that reflected not only the city's dress code but also his personal journey.
From that day forward, Jason not only wore the dress code with pride but also carried himself with an air of professionalism and confidence that commanded respect. The suits, shoes, and carefully chosen accessories became a second skin, reminding him of the values he held dear and the sense of identity he had discovered in the process.
As he stepped out into the world, fully adorned in the gifts bestowed upon him by Mr. Reynolds, Jason felt a deep sense of gratitude and purpose. His appearance now aligned with the standards of Westbrook, and he was determined to honor the dress code not only in his attire but also in his conduct and contributions to the community.
As weeks turned into months, Jason's wardrobe transformed from a meager collection to a meticulously curated ensemble. The collaboration between tenant and landlord continued, as Mr. Reynolds shared his expertise in garment care, teaching Jason the importance of proper laundering, pressing, and maintaining the longevity of his clothing.
As Jason walked through the city streets, his meticulously crafted suits, perfectly tied bowties, and a confident smile became a testament to the transformative journey he had undertaken. He had grown from a hesitant tenant into a staunch supporter of the dress code, understanding that it was not merely a set of rules, but a symbol of dignity, respect, and the pursuit of excellence.
The city of Westbrook, with its streets adorned by elegantly dressed men, recognized Jason as a model of their unique traditions. He had become a part of the tapestry that wove together the city's identity, a living embodiment of the values it held dear. And with each passing day, as he continued to honor the dress code, Jason embraced a sense of pride and belonging that he had never experienced before.

Well for those who still haven't know me, obviously Avril Lavigne is my ultimate no 1 Favourite! I've love her as long as i can remember. She's my IDOL. And I've learned a lot from her. Im damn proud and happy for her huge comeback this year. She's AMAZING. Let them know she still Rock N Roll!!! I also do love Taylor Swift. Can't believe She's rules the music world era for years, and she the same age as me. The other music I listen to and really enjoy include Pink, Simple Plan, Billie Ellis, Justin Timberlake, Eminem, the Black Eyed Peas, Jason Derulo, Shawn Mendes.

Basically, I simply love anything girly, chic flick novels.
My fave two makeup product
Well Honestly I actually only wear this two makeup whenever I'm going out. Simply cant be bothered with the others. First my fave lipgloss, the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer. Its super cute, and I love the shiny light pink shade. It have shea butter enriches from within. Wearing it sure makes my lips look instantly fuller, with a non-sticky formula that’s super shiny and has an addictive peach-vanilla scent I just can’t get enough of. I loves smoky eye and light lip look. One can never forget my fave signature smoky, kohl-rimmed eyes.So yeah my second fave makeup will be my black eyeliner esp MAC Eye Kohl Eyeliner. Been using this since my early teens! I'd always LOVES those black eyes when I was younger, in fact, I still do now too actually. I still will use whatever I could get my hands on. It was so hard to find a black eyeliner that had pigment. Everything i put on was gray. So It was a lot of smudging with eyeliner.
My List of The World Hottest Guys:
My HUSBAND! of coz, dhuh!
My Dad!
Adam Levine
Andrew Garfield
Ryan Reynolds
Eminem
The Yana Diet on how to maintain my body figure!

So telll me again, who says I can't and dunno how to cook? Just because I don't post about my cooking that often over on the internet doesn't mean I can't surprise my hubby by cooking dinner once awhile. Alhamdulliah, my hubby LOVES it. not because he suppose to, but because he genuinely think it really taste marvellous. He often request me to make dem!
I loves eating sushi, esp salmon sashimi. Yums! The combination of fresh fish, rice and seasonings makes sushi a perfect healthy meal, at least for me!

Grass Roots and Herman's Hermits in Concert.
Oldies but Goodies.

Robert M. Massimi.
Until his death in 2011, band member Rob Grill chose replacement band members who would carry on the band's sound for years to come. Since that time, "The Grass Roots" play 100 shows a year throughout the country. Originally from the Los Angeles California area, the band was known for their Folk Rock, pop, pop rock and sunshine pop (arguably, some would even put them in the psychedelic pop category as well).
The band today features the heart and soul of the band, bassist, vocalist Mark Dawson, Joe Dougherty on drums, Larry Nelson on keyboards and Dusty Hanvey on lead guitar. Continuing on its traditions, the band last night churned out 11 songs; aside from a questionable choice of order in those songs, they made their hour onstage pleasurable.
Original songwriters P.F. Sloan and Steve Barri were tremendous in the arrangements, the changing harmonies that earned them 29 charting singles- 13 of which went gold. Only 9 other bands have charted more hits on Billboards Hot 100 than The Grass Roots.
Opening with "I'd Wait a Million Years", the band put the crowd into a groove. The band's second song, "Sooner or Later" should have been the evenings last one. Always a fan favorite, it maybe their most recognizable song. Using a popular Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds cover: "Don't Pull Your Love" was the perfect lead in to the pensive "Let's Live for Today".
As the band really gained their traction, the evenings seventh song and perhaps should have been the second to last song song is the very popular rendition by the band "Love Grows Where My Rosemary Grows" (Edison Lighthouse cover). The Grass Roots popularized this song in the 70's, bringing it to number two on the charts. I am not sure why the band played "Where Where You When I Needed You", a Herman's Hermits song, but they really had a soulful version of this song. This song showed the talent of Larry Nelson on Keyboards.
Ending with "The River Is Wide" and "Midnight Confessions" are two that I would have reconsidered. The Grass Roots are a upbeat band, and are know for their pop, upbeat songs. I think that these two are not signature songs of the band, and a poor choice to close with.
This Grass Roots for the most part fit the image that Rob Grill wanted and imagined. Dusty Hanvey at times struggled on the lead guitar. His playing went from excellent to fair throughout the night. Joe Dougherty at times sounded like he was chopping wood on the drums. His down-strokes were to obtuse making the back beat too staccato. The lighting which is usually a strong point at The Morristown Performing Arts Center was not clear and the choice of colors were questionable. The colors did not match the genre of the music played. At Three Dog Night just two weeks ago, the colors washed well to the music; tonight it just didn't have the proper vibe.
Herman's Hermits.
Peter Noone, from Davyhulme, Lancashire, England got his training as an actor, musician and singer at Manchester college of music and drama. It was there that he founded the group "The Heartbeats". The band would later change its name to Harmans Hermits and later, Herman's Hermits. Noone had taken the role of conductor of the band and from there, Herman's Hermits had a sound of its own.
Because of his training as an actor, Noone (like David Bowie) was always able to bring excitement to the audience. As such, Herman's Hermits quickly became acclaimed as a talented band with a real character as their front man. Having been on regular T.V. shows like The Jackie Gleason show as well as Dean and many more, Noone would act in movies as well. A talented guitarist, pianist, Noone was sought after across all artist boundaries.
In the familiar Union Jack backdrop, Herman's Hermits performed 22 songs in total (many were short formed songs like Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire", "Start Me Up" by the Rolling Stones, "Benny and The Jets", Elton John, "All My Lovin", The Beatles, "Day Dream Believer", The Monkeys and "Do Wah Diddy Diddy"; to Noone, it is as much about the showmanship as it it is the show! And what a showman he is! It did not take long for the audience to figure out that he has an incredible scale range and that his energy makes it difficult to believe that he is 75 years old. Both fit and energized, Peter Noone marched all over the stage in perpetual motion (even in the audience) for an hour and fifteen minutes.
Playing all their hits: "I'm Into Something Good", "Dandy", "Silhouettes", "Mrs. Brown", "You've Got a Lovely Daughter" and ending with their two biggest hits: "I'm Henry the Vlll" and "There's a Kind of Hush", the band was tight all night long feeding the beast of its singer. The stage setup was such that the front man was front and center. The lead and bassist were in the backdrop over Noone's right shoulder, the drummer set far behind his center and the organist off to the left. After all, there is only room for the one big personality at the front, or anywhere near the front.
Like The Grass Roots, Peter Noone was self depreciating about his age, his carrier, where he has been and what he and the band have accomplished. In his British humor he makes fun of his band mates, his family, himself and even his aging audience. Like The Grass Roots, one thing is for certain: both bands love what they do in playing music, still out on the road entertaining their adoring fans.

The Doobie Brothers at The State Theater.
Last night at the beautiful State Theater in New Brunswick, New Jersey, The Doobie Brothers exemplified why they are now Rock & Roll Hall of Famers. Tight all evening, the performance was magnified with the excellent saxophonist, Marc Russo and the expert piano and singing of Michael McDonald.

The Stranger
There was a stranger in Garrett’s kitchen. It was uncanny, the way the stranger looked and acted almost exactly like Jenna, and yet Garrett knew, deep in his bones, that the woman in his kitchen was not his wife. No, not at all. This woman, smiling at him over a plate of scrambled eggs and crisped bacon, was someone else entirely, someone who terrified him in ways he couldn’t explain.

An oasis awaits you at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds Lake Oconee (Photo by Chris Bartlett)

If making spring and summer travel plans are on your agenda, an oasis awaits you at Lake Oconee, about 85 miles east of Atlanta, amid the lush Georgia hillsides, underneath a stunning canopy of evergreen-forested trees. It is here, in “lake country,” that the year-round playground of Reynolds Lake Oconee https://bit.ly/3AojqGD can be explored for an incredible golf-centric trip with friends, a romantic couple’s getaway or a family escape. Many guests love the destination so much that they make it their year ‘round or second home-residence. The Ritz-Carlton, Reynolds, Lake Oconee https://bit.ly/420HzyB is the crown jewel located within the lifestyle-centric community. The resort offers something for everyone; boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, bird watching, serene sunrise strolls upon the exquisite lakefront resort, a spa retreat, shopping and of course, cuisine prepared by talented chefs. Golfers can choose from five nationally ranked golf courses designed by famed golf course architects including Rees Jones, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Fazio and Bob Cupp.

Those who want more than just a luxurious guest room, the cottages and The Lake House at The Ritz Carlton feature multiple bedrooms, kitchens, private outdoor space, and a living room.
For those who want to experience what it is like to live at one of Reynolds Lake Oconee communities, choose from National Club cottages, The Landing Cottages or The Village at Lake Club Pointe. To whet your appetite for this experience check it out here: https://bit.ly/440CiZN
Water enthusiasts, get ready for an exhilarating jet-ski experience, a fishing outing, or head out on a pontoon boat or classic Hacker-Craft boat.
There’s no shortage of places to get into the water. The Infinity pool has spectacular views of the lake. Kids will embrace the family pool where they can splash and play in the geysers and on the splash pads. Splash Shack comes to the rescue when hunger hits, featuring light fare, frozen cocktails, wine, and beer.Lap swimmers can get their exercise in the Indoor spa pool. Hours are set aside for adult lap swimming as well as family swim time. Those who enjoy the beach will welcome the private beach at Lake Oconee. Hungry or need a drink to cool down at the beach… check out the Sand Bar.

Live it up by renting a poolside cabana. Not only will you enjoy private seating…the amenities include a freshly sliced-fruit tray, sunscreen, television, cooling system, phone charger, refrigerator with water and soft drinks.
I knew it was going to be a relaxing experience dining at the resort’s “Gaby’s by the Lake” restaurant when I saw the slogan on the sign that says, “No shirt, No Shoes, Our Pleasure.” The signature dish, Lobster Grilled Cheese is a must. Chock full of lobster salad with hints of tarragon, it is topped with Havarti cheese and served on brioche bread. The BBQ Pork Nachos (pulled pork, tortilla chips, Queso cheese, Cotija cheese and bourbon BBQ sauce, served with Pico de Gallo, guacamole, salsa and sour cream) is enough to share. I am told the “Philly” (ribeye, peppers, onions, provolone, garlic aioli served on a hoagie roll) could perhaps win a Philly Cheesesteak competition! While dining, you’ll enjoy the most inspiring vistas of Lake Oconee.

For more formal dining, Linger Longer Steakhouse serves dinner where you can peek into the open kitchen and watch the chefs meticulously performing their craft. The design of the restaurant makes you feel as if you were dining in a stylish lakeside home. The two-sided stone fireplace adds to the elegance of the room. Prepared on the wood-fired grill, choose from the 8-ounce barrel-cut filet mignon, 7-ounce Australian Wagyu striploin, an 18-ounce Delmonico ribeye among other cuts. Indulge with the “Butcher’s Reserve,” a 40-ounce Porterhouse with foie gras butter. Choose from a selection of sauces: red wine, Bearnaise, green peppercorn, chimichurri, or horseradish cream. Not a red meat eater, no worries. The menu includes a selection of fish dishes: striped bass, king salmon, diver sea scallops, and little neck clams. Leave it to the chef – with the “Chef’s Adventure” menu, where you’ll discover what inspired the chef that day. The menu describes it as “a one-of-a-kind tasting menu – culinary adventure featuring seasonal flavors, textures, and creativity.”
Bourbon connoisseurs, get ready for the Barrel Room, where certified bourbon stewards will match your tastes with the perfect pour. The stewards have curated a collection so you can experience rare bourbons and whiskeys. Of course, wines, from the extensive list, and other cocktails, can be sipped on as well, in the beautifully appointed room. Although libations may be the focus, there are creative small plates available to savor while sipping. You’ll be tempted to try Roasted Spicy Cauliflower (pan roasted, herb blue cheese spread, fennel, petite arugula), Barrel Room Sliders (angus beef patty, horseradish-cheddar cheese, caramelized onions) or Brisket Flatbread (smoked brisket, jalapenos, cheddar cheese, cilantro, blueberry BBQ sauce). And, for dessert, Georgia Peach (white chocolate-peach mousse, spiced-peach core, oatmeal-amaretto cookie crumble, passionfruit gel). Chocoholics can get their fix with the German Chocolate Cake (flourless chocolate cake, caramel coconut pecan filling, chocolate sauce, cherry limeade sorbet, toasted marshmallow, chocolate crumble).
Guests at The Ritz Carlton have access to Sandy Creek Sporting Grounds. It was here where I learned clay shooting for the first time (very fun)! Justin Jones, an expert in the development and management of elite resort shooting facilities, has the patience to bring comfort and confidence as you learn the sport. There is a 20- station sporting clays course, plus shooting and archery ranges. Not into this sport, there is fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and an off-roading course. Check out the scenery here – as Justin talks about Sandy Creek Sporting Grounds https://bit.ly/3V8xP3h
Bringing the kids along… Ritz Kids Lake Adventures will keep those who are ages five to twelve occupied for a full or half-day. Their clubhouse has an interactive play floor where they can have loads of fun. Each day, there is a themed experience planned.
On select weekend evenings, the songwriter series hosts songwriters and bands providing music of different genres.
Check out this video where Anne Titlebaum, Director of Operations at The Ritz Carlton talks about the amenities at the resort. https://youtu.be/hTJlbiQux1s
For those who own a home at Reynolds Lake Oconee, planned activities and events will keep you busy. Those interested in the culinary arts will be pleased with the chef series, classes, and curated wine dinners. Executive Chef Zouhair Bellout is at the helm, overseeing the vast food and beverage establishments of the community. I had the opportunity to take one of his classes. Ricotta gnocchi (gnudi) was on the menu.

3 cups ricotta, moisture removed
4 eggs
2 cups grated parmesan
2 cups flour
Salt and pepper to taste
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Put the ricotta and eggs in a large bowl and mix well, add the parmesan, flour salt and pepper and mix to incorporate all of the ingredients. If mixture is too moist and sticky, add a bit more flour. On a floured surface, roll out the dough into ropes, about ¾ inch in diameter. Cut the log into ¾ inch pieces and use a gnocchi roller for making the ridged surface that allows the sauce you use to adhere to the gnudi. You could also choose to roll into small balls. Gently place the gnudi in the boiling water a few at a time. When they float to the top carefully remove from the boiling water. Enjoy with your favorite sauce.

she's all i wanna be
today, she is lorelei andez.
she wakes up at 4 a.m. she gives herself time to rejuvenate from a night drenched in liquor and secrets. she lights a candle and cleanses herself with burning sage and crystals. she takes a half-an-hour long bath, because lorelei values her ‘me’ time for self love.
she does her make-up, going with as little as eyeliner, blush and a little bit of highlighter. lorelei believes in the afterglow of her sun-kissed skin, so she will believe in it too. she glues on a pearl, just under each black butterfly wing accentuating her eye shape.
she looks herself in the mirror for a moment. she grabs her favourite tube of lipstick. she puts it on, and on the mirror writes ‘xoxo’. she hesitates for a faction, then kisses the reflection of herself.
she undresses. the sunlight bends at her will. she decides on a lace bralette and her beige blazer with black jeans and 3-inch stilettos. lorelei lives for champagne gold and rings. she puts on 5 rings in total, even the one made of jade that she swore never to put on due to it’s history. she puts on her signature designer cologne.
she makes herself breakfast. sliced avocado and egg toast, with a side of earl grey. she doesn’t rush herself, lorelei does not like to be rushed. she places her phone on the other end of the table, she doesn’t need to be distracted focusing on herself. she takes 7 bites out of the toast and decides it was enough to last her through the morning.
she packs her purse with her phone, her wallet and keys. her headphones are in its casing, along with chocolate and a water bottle. she checks for her lipgloss and spare earrings, lorelei’s always the one to be prepared for any occasion, and does up the magnets. she places her laptop in its carrier and puts on her vintage sunglasses.
she sits in the lecture hall, taking notes for the english literature lecture. she kept her handwriting neat, aligned with the grids of her notebook and in elegant cursive. every once in a while, she takes a sip from her fruit-infused tea, not missing a beat of the discussion on of Shakespeare’s Othello. she sits at the middle rows, front and centre. she participates occasionally, because lorelei would know everyone’s watching her every move.
she takes the subway home, missing her stop on purpose. she watches the daylight drain from the rain-stained windows of the metro and reads her French novel. she feels another sit next to her and smiles at them. they smile back and make brief conversation. they exchange phone numbers, the stranger leaves. she feels a foreign feeling swell in her guts and sighs. lorelei loves this feeling.
she unlocks the door and places the fresh ingredients on the counter. she changes out of her day clothes into her oversized sweater. she pulls her hair up to a bun and makes caesar salad with a poached egg and parmesan cheese. she has it with a cup of apple tea, on the couch, with her favourite series playing on the television. lorelei knows the best way to cure a hectic day.
she cleans herself of makeup and does her skin care routine. she cleans off the mirror and does her nails to the radio. she dances to her favourite songs in her room and drinks a few more glasses of water, because that’s what lorelei loves about nights in her room alone.
she was out like a light by 10:30 p.m.
---
today, she is tate reynolds.
she wakes up at 6:40 a.m. she lays in bed for 10 minutes more. she gets over her existential dread and puts on her favourite pairs of stockings. she flips through her magazines with a cup of freshly brewed coffee, on the floor of the living room. she leaves the curtains open and bites back a smile when the sun rays warm up her skin. tate may hate mornings, but the sun, before it ripens into a sweltering afternoon, is her reason to live on.
she puts her playlist on full volume and curls her hair. she sings to herself in the mirror, making a mental note to keep the beautiful little art form to herself and herself only. tate loves to see herself energised and thrilled for the day yet to come. she plays around with her perfumes and draws text emojis on her cheek, flushed from all the dancing. she decides on a small ‘:p’ and twirls her hair in between her fingers.
she turns on her stereo and undresses. she decides halfway to undo the blinds and lay in the sun spot on her bed. she gets up when her phone chimes with a text, because tate always knows what to say, and responds after a few moments of consideration. she pokes another hole in the new belt she bought and threaded them through the loops of her suit pants. she switches out her bra for a red corset top and an oversized black cardigan. she layers her pearl necklaces and weaves a ribbon through her hair.
she has another cup of coffee, with skimmed milk and vanilla this time, and made herself pancakes with assorted berries. she buries her toppings in whipped cream and has it on the carpet, leaning against the corduroy loveseat. she puts her hand up against the sunlight and squints, letting the halo of gold filter through the gaps of her fingers. tate is immortal, and the sun is her only eternal companion.
she finishes the stack of pancakes and places the dishes in the sink. she saves the cup of coffee for later, because tate cannot stay awake at all without it. she picks out her heels, 6-inch nudes with attached silver chains. she puts on her safety pin earrings and lays on her sofa, awaiting her friends’ notice. she thinks, tate tends to overthink a lot of things, weighing the pros and cons of the outing.
she sits, shotgun, in her best friend’s Porsche. she listens to them gossip, never intervenes. she watches the malibu sun float along the light-bleached clouds and closes her eyes. she takes initiative to undo the roof of the car and link her streaming service to the speaker system. she plays infinite by lyn lapid, because the song has made home and lives in tate’s heart, and takes in the scent of leather and oceans. she is forever 16, and she doesn’t have the luxury of dying young.
she lets her friends pick out her clothes in each store. she tries them on, and whether she likes it or not, she showcases it to them. she treats them to gelato and smiles when they get it on the tip of their noses. tate loves each one of her friends with her own life. she sits with them, on the beach, with her magazines while they splash each other with saltwater by the shoreline. she thinks to herself, this is the life lorde talks about in her songs, and lets the golden sky devour each longing inch of her skin.
she invites her friends over. she borrows to them her stash of hoodies and they stay in for the night. she takes pictures with her polaroid camera and films moments of their sleepover on her video camera. she captures as much of the euphoria bleeding from each second that passes as she possibly could, and records it all on rolls and rolls of video tape. tate will miss them, and she always does her best to keep as many pieces of them as her fingers and memory would allow her to.
she talks to them. about her life. they listen and kiss her on the cheeks. they rope her into a hug, and god, it feels so good to be touched again. they tell her it’s okay, and for once she believes them, because tate knows the consequences of not trusting her friends enough. they pop open a bottle of tequila and they make cake together. she smooths out the frosting and sneak in extra pieces of chocolate truffle. they sit, together, under the midnight sky, out on the front porch with pieces of the cake, and feel.
she falls asleep last, by the window seat of her room, with a bottle of half-empty liquor, at 2:37 a.m.
---
today, she is demilia locke.
she wakes up at 9:49 a.m. she doesn’t want to get out of bed. she stays in bed for another 2 hours. she puts on her reading glasses and lights a candle. she gathers her tablet and stack of annotated books and flipped through them, reading over every highlighted verse with nostalgia. she browses on tumblr, through all the feeds with aesthetic quotations and low-quality images that seemed cut out from a magazine.
she pulls a hoodie on, over her oversized band t-shirt. she doesn’t bother fixing her hair, because who was going to see her like this anyway? she washes her face and sits on in the dry bathtub with her face in a white fluffy towel for a few minutes.
she slices up an assortment of fruit to the steady rainfall. she accidentally cuts her thumb. she runs it under cold water and leaves the little wound alone. she tosses the fruit pieces in a bowl and pours herself a mug of hot water. she lays on the carpet and feels the centre of gravity shift inside of her. it sinks, down her veins, until it gathers like a bruise where her skin connects the floor.
she has her fruit salad in silence. the silence helps demi think. she traces her eyes over the walls, over each pigmented pattern etched on. she blows on the hot water and admires the way white smoke drifts off until it thins into invisibility. she takes a sip and breathes out a sigh.
she washes the dishes and dries them off, putting back to where they originated from. she returns to her room, to her bed. she removes her laptop from her backpack and places it above her sheets. she opens it, runs her fingers over each sticker surrounding the display retina. each one has it’s story, and demi loves each one more than she did life.
she opens another word document and stared at the blank page. she couldn’t feel anything. she puts on her writer’s playlist. the only thing she could hear was her heartbeat choking her by the throat. she slams the laptop shut and lies down. maybe she cries a little, but that’s okay, creative burnouts happen all the time for demi.
she feels horrible. so she turns on her current series. she takes pictures of scenes and matches lyrics to them. she whispers each lyric to herself, sacred as any oath and smile a little when it planted a soft candle-like glow inside of her chest.
she opens her laptop again and types. she spills her guts out onto the page, until grey and white blurs with ink. she feels a hollow beckoning that came with its catharsis, one that strangely brings her enough peace to look up. it was dark outside, her clock reading 4:19 a.m.
she writes some more, and passes out somewhere in between the lines of passing time.
and she woke up.
today, she is eris darklight.

Pamela Z - Echolocation - reissue of 1988 experimental new wave LP featuring vocal looping; really psyched to be reintroduced to this artist that I saw live on a visit to San Francisco in 1992. My most distinct memory of that show is “Bald Boyfriend,” not on this album but a video exists (at bottom of post).
Born in Buffalo, New York in 1956, Pamela Z has spent her time performing and composing towards the singular objective of finding sounds yet unfelt. Beginning as singer-songwriter on the guitar while studying music in Boulder, Colorado, most of Z’s musical ventures centered around covering artists like Joni Mitchell and Malvina Reynolds B-sides. While getting gigs around the Denver metro-area and moonlighting as a radio host for public radio station KGNU playing tunes spanning from “Varèse to the Ramones, to the Roches, to Pauline Oliveros”, she soon realized she should be building towards the sounds she listened to so much. This revelation dovetailed with the rise of home taping, the zenith of synthesizer culture, and the acquisition of a digital delay pedal, the Ibanez-DM1000, to bring her the signature sound she continues to perfect. Echolocation was composed by Pamela Z at a time where her name and presence were only beginning to send shockwaves to the Bay Area New Music scene and later the world. Freedom To Spend re-releases Z’s 1988 limited run, cassette only debut onto the New Music scene; a lush tapestry of deep listening vocal meditations, MIDI explorations, and operatic art rock junctures. Echolocation proves in its runtime to still be searching after over three decades since its deliverance.
All pieces composed and performed by Pamela Z Synthesizers on “I Know” by Donald Swearingen Drums on “I Know” by Shof Synthesizers and drum programming on “An In” by Bill Stefanacci The text of “Pop Titles ‘You’” was taken from a 1986 issue of The Phonolog Report The recordings are presented in the best fidelity possible but occasionally betray the limitations of the master source. Originally released on Zed in 1988. Licensed under permission and in cooperation with Pamela Z. Come! Mend! On behalf of Pamela Z, a portion of the proceeds from this release will benefit The Center for New Music, which fosters contemporary music’s growth by giving practicing artists access to professional resources and expertise, and by providing them with opportunities for sharing knowledge and exploring new ideas. centerfornewmusic.com

What album do you think is she going to drop next?
100% it’s gonna be 1989. Simply just because of what she wore at the Brits this year and the fact that she wouldn’t drop red, her signature fall album, in the middle of summer. Any Easter eggs that she’s given away about red probably meant that she was re-recording red at the time. Plus, wildest dreams (Taylor’s version) is already out in that horse film trailer just like love story was used in the Ryan Reynolds advert.
Overall my prediction is
1. 1989 sometime this summer
2. Red in the fall
3. Speak now late December, early next year
4. Taylor swift - I’m just filling in the gap
5. And rep will be last. I know she has to wait 5 years since it’s release date before releasing something to do with legal rights or copy rights idk

When We Were Young
Cater Diamond x Reader
Summary: It’s been five years since Cater graduated from NRC. He spent his time traveling Twisted Wonderland, visiting the Hot Sands, to the resorts that the Coral Sea has to offer. Yet something was missing. Despite keeping in touch with most of his past classmates. There’s just one person he couldn’t get a hold of. You. One day when he’s back in his hometown. Trey sends him a text saying that they’re planning to hold a reunion party with their first years. Cater agreed right away, not expecting on meeting someone he thought he’d never see again.
Inspired by the song When We Were Young ~ Adele Cover listened to while writing When We Were Young (Acoustic) ~ Shaun Reynolds
Author’s Note: I feel like I made Cater a bit more serious than he actually is but hey! He’s older. Maybe he grew up a bit.
I don’t know if tumblr will actually alert you of this tagging @twistedintern but maybe this will help Cater grow on you? You don’t have to read this of course. I know Mr. Diamond isn’t everyone’s cup of tea,
Just one wave of nostalgia was enough to sweep him off his feet and back to his days at NRC. The jokes you’d crack with your fellow first years, your bravery when Riddle overbolted, the goodbye and longing gaze you shared when he graduated. Cater could’ve sworn everyone was back in their uniforms, only to blink a few times for reality to settle again.
His feet swayed beneath him as forest eyes stared at your ghostly figure. The pumpkin haired male tried to call out to you. Only to be interrupted by Kalim, his signature bright smile painting his lips as he draped himself over his former club mate.
“Did you bring it? I can’t wait to see how everyone’s changed! You don’t mind me taking a peek, do you?” The white haired male asked, already reaching for his friend’s phone.
Chuckling at the gesture. Cater simply held his phone above his head, putting a finger to his lips. “Now, now. I want to leave it as a surprise for everybody. So, you gotta wait like everyone else. Okay ~?” His voice went back to a somewhat cheery tune as he made his way to the clear screen, quickly connecting his device. He couldn’t help but smile at the past memories on his phone as he slowly scrolled his way down to the video he made dedicated to when the first years started.
“Okay everybody! As your lovely seniors we have yet another gift for you! I’m sorry but you can’t get rid of us that easily! I kid. I kid,” He chuckled at his own joke, his eyes scanning the crowd for you. ‘Was he really just seeing what he wanted to see? You did say that you wanted to go back home. There’s no way you stayed.’ He reminded himself before gesturing to the large screen behind him.
“Here we have documentation of us laughing, crying, and everything in between with yours truly as the photographer! Of course, the others sent me some pictures and videos they took. So, please give a round of applause to our anonymous donators!” His smile bloomed wider as he watched the others gave their friends suspicious looks or gazed at the screen with palpable anticipation.
“Please enjoy!” He called out before moving out of the way, quickly making his way to his old dorm mates.
~
Watching the past play before his eyes caused his heart to ache and soar all at the same time. The ‘youthful’ laughter that beamed at him with the comfort of an old friend. Damn, he was barely in his twenties and he already feels old. Is this something Lilia felt regularly?
Before his eyes could even spot the fae, the thought was quickly swept from his mind as his ‘battle’ with Riddle played on screen. Cater chuckled at his former Dorm Leaders blush, resting his hand on Riddle’s shoulder to give it squeeze.
“You won fair and square. Besides, I believe you ran the dorm more smoothly than I ever did,” he whispered to his juniors ear, his bright smile never leaving his lips despite the bitter words that left them.
Roars of laughter filled the room with each clip and picture. Some (many) students tearing up at the years that passed by while old jokes and tales bubbled from their throats.
Everything felt so simple and structured back then. RIP and respect to the teachers that had to raise them into the people they are now.
When your face filled the screen, the room went silent. No one could forget the magicless human that helped them despite being so powerless. Many couldn’t decide if stupidity led their actions or a heart of gold. At the end of day they were grateful for their intervention.
~
Were you even here to enjoy these memories with them? He thought as the video ended and the students went back to cheerful chatter. He couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight of the tweels teasing Azul for his tears. Jade offering the octopus a handkerchief.
Yet despite all the old faces, his mind always wandered back to you. Cater swore he heard Ace and Deuce speak your name. Whether it was in passing or greeting you, he wasn’t sure. But your fleeting figure always danced at the edge of his gaze, only to disappear when he looked for you.
“Cater senpai!”
It couldn’t be. Cater felt his heart jump to his throat as his head whipped to the sound of your all too familiar voice. His legs moved faster than his brain. Arms already wrapped around you as he pulled you close. Head buried against the top of your head with a nuzzle as if to check you were really there.
“Cater senpai. Your hug is killing me. Please let go,” your muffled voice caused him to jump back. His signature smile painting his lips.
‘I thought I was never gonna see you again.’
He kept his thought shut tight in his mind, beaming at you, “you made it! I thought you went back home,” green eyes gazed at you like a puppy greeting their owner back home from work. Everything about you was different, yet the same. Did you grow taller? Were you resting properly? There’s bags under your eyes. So, many questions flooded his mind but all he really wanted was to hear your voice again.
“Well, I decided to stay,” a sheepish smile formed on their features as they continued hesitantly. “I know that I came from another world and there’s people I miss there but if I go back then I’ll miss everyone here. I’ll basically be going back to square one. So, I decided to make a new normal and stay with you guys. Ace and Deuce are already helping me find a part time job while we all room together,” you chuckled at the plan already smelling the chaos that followed.
“Eh? You’d rather hang out with them than me? I thought we had a moment when I graduated,” Cater sighed dramatically, hoping that his playful mask was still snuggly in place.
“About that,” Y/N took his hand, leading him away from the hustle and bustle of the reunion.
When was the last time someone made his heart flutter like this? Sure he dated other people over the years but they never got his heart racing. Not like you and your enchanting smile, your soft touch. Everything about you he just wanted to fill a whole memory card with. Even that wouldn’t be enough.
“Y/N?” your name escaped his lips like a hopeful prayer.
“Do you think we can start something together? We don’t have to date, of course! I don’t mind being friends. It’s just-” a pair of lips swallowed your worries, leaving your heart racing.
“Y/N from the day I left NRC I’ve been traveling the world looking for something. The whole time whenever I tried something new or saw something beautiful I wanted to share it with you. Will you come with me this time?” green eyes burrowed into yours as Cater awaited your answer.

Turd Ferguson from SNL : zangites
I remember growing up watching Norm MacDonald on SNL and on his sitcom, and being laughing quite a lot. His dry wit and cutting delivery was always very sharp, and he had a way to speak directly to his audience that few comedians were about to match.
It was definitely jarring to see that he had passed away today from a decade-long bout with cancer that he kept away from the public eye. So to honor that, I’ll just remember the good, funny times and continue to be Turd Ferguson every so often.
My name is Ken and I’ve been cosplaying since the late 90s/early 2000s, which is crazy since that means I’ve been cosplaying over twenty years, or half of my life since I am going to be 41 in a few months. I can remember going to Wondercon, which was still in San Francisco in the early 2000s, paying like ten bucks for a badge to get one day, and seeing mostly comic book vendors at conventions. We’ve certainly come a long way!
I started going to comic conventions in the mid 90s and remember a sparse set of people going to conventions with even less dressing up. I just though to myself that it would be cool to be a character in this safe space of the comic con. Back then, there wasn’t a lot of places to get costume stuff with most of the geek stuff you could buy at the convention itself. I remember as a kid that I did not like the feeling of cheap Halloween costumes on my skin, as if the costume would fall apart on me in a sudden gust of wind. The inspiration for my first Cosplay came when I saw a blue cadet jacket at an Army/Navy store. I quickly snatched it up, added patches to it, and cut out my own hood to become Cobra Commander. I would be one of a handful of people at my local conventions in the San Francisco Bay Area that would costume often. Something I would bring with me when I moved to Chicago.
I am an SNL megafan, plus I truly enjoy groups that you don’t typically see represented at comic book or anime cons. Of the many characters represented in the over 40 years of the show, I whittled it down to Phil Hartman’s Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer and Norm MacDonald’s Turd Ferguson. I’d lean toward Turd after rewatching a lot of the Celebrity Jeopardy sketch. There was something about the dynamic of that sketch between the principle characters of Will Ferrell’s Alex Trebek, Darryl Hammond’s Sean Connery, and Norm MacDonald’s Burt Reynolds that made for true Comedy Magic.
Turd is among the easiest cosplays I’ve ever put together and perhaps the easiest one I’ve ever worn. The suit pieces were thrifted, and the signature bolo tie and oversized yellow cowboy hat (it’s funny), was purchased through Amazon. To drive the point home, I made a portable “podium” out of the top of a storage container decorated with glow-in-the-dark tape, a name plate with Turd’s signature, and a print out of the Jeopardy logo. This would all be suspended using an old martial arts black belt. Overall, people usually start laughing or freak out when they see me as Turd. Not many people expect to see the character represented at cons, so I’d like to think I provide a needed break between seeing the superhero du jour. This is further compounded by acting the part. Usually the day of the convention, I rewatch the Celebrity Jeopardy to pick up the cadences and deliverances Norm would use when portraying his caricature of Burt Reynolds. I would also watch some clips of Burt Reynolds to further add depth to the bits I’d perform as Turd. Put it all together and it makes for a great, humorous time. Norm’s humor is from the school of Rodney Dangerfield in that there is a glimmer of pain in every joke told. Each joke is sharply sarcastic and rather sardonic, yet relatable to the pain of life. If studying his comedy has taught me anything, it is that life can be laughed at despite it being incredibly tough at times.
