Yes, this! I tend to forget about The Jungle Book for some reason, and "Bare Necessities" is about the only song I usually remember...but this is absolutely what AJ and Kaley were referencing. Not sure how I missed this, because it seems obvious now...but thank you so much for your input!

And funnily enough, I'm watching the Jangle Ball digital ticket and I started typing this reply just as they started singing the "Golden Rule" reprise as part of a "Capitalism is the Real Villain" medley. Especially when paired with the rest of this particular medley ("Cup of Roasted Coffee" and "Tickle-Me Wiggly Jingle" from the Hatchetfield shows), the reprise really holds its own as a cynical villain song, not just a twisted mirror to the original.

Pop culture parodies tread fine lines to avoid copyright violations, especially when it comes to music. Some go for a certain mood or genre to evoke the source. Holy Musical B@man! is a great example. Nick Gage and Scott Lamps used strictly synthesizer and an electronic drum kit. They made great use of the standard synthesizer sound, calling to mind ‘80s new wave electronic music; a darker electric guitar sound to capture the gritty Batman from The Dark Knight or The Killing Joke; and light and playful bell tones, representing the innocence of Robin or perhaps the campy silliness of the ‘60s Batman TV show.

When it’s a parody musical of a musical, the challenge is even greater. Enter Twisted: The Untold Story of a Royal Vizier.

It's a good thing I think that umbrella academy was renewed as the final season. Because at least we know for sure that it'll all get wrapped up and finished, not ending on a cliffhanger meant to be resolved in the next season. Right now it seems too bad now that this is it, but long term it's better

For anyone who wasn't here for this last time, Rewatchers1000 was a weekly "event" where we would all watch a specific Starkid, TCB or Shipwrecked show at some point in the week, and then spend the rest of the week talking about/ making posts/content for the show.
