Kdrama that should have been bls
FIRST UP- MATCH MADE IN HELL
Hell is other people - calls him darling, protects him from *evil* people, keeps him company, makes him a custom bracelet. Need I say more. his girlfriend and him had 0 chemistry. because all the chemistry was between him and the *weird dentist who seems to be too much in me*. and *weird dentist* was not afraid to show his love outwards. if only we could them being reciprocated. but he loved him. so much so that he turns into him. would have been a perfect murder couple.
Psychopath diary- another attempt at trying to turn his boyfriend into him. even does all of the preparations . but his boyfriend is too dumb. always love the part where he shows off his special interest in his boyfriend. CEO!?!?!! with a measly employee. and the way he gets jealous when his boyfriend has other plans. would have been the psychopath and his cute boyfriend. but only some people know what kind of a person he can be *wink wink*.
The merciless- unlike the previous ones. this one did not need to MAKE his boy. he already came with the preparations. he just needed to tame him. but went too far with a brat and paid the price. (seems like im siwan has a thing for gay-coded roles. and unlike the others the direction of this film did say that the characters were written as having a romantic relationship but changed it in the end to avoid criticism. F*ck homophobes.)
Beyond evil- (haven't seen but know its gay) seems like all my favorite boys are gay-coded. not that i'm complaining. If Hollywood was brave enough and artsy enough during those buddy cop movies we would get something like this.
The devil judge- (haven't seen but know its gay) f*ck world. I just wanna be a malewife to the dictator in a dystopian world.

finally posted jinyoung's the devil judge interview that's a japan dvd exclusive!!
translation by @maystea and review by @yohannoir
translation is in the description of the vid
youtube
Ah, yes, about Kim Ga-On's character - he’s an associate judge who is next to Yo-Han. He’s a righteous character that tracks a very mysterious person, Yo-Han and reveals (shines the bright on/tn) truth.
First, the character is really three-dimensional (0:24), so he has a lot of charm. I could shoot it together with Ji-Sung sunbaenim a character who pushes until the very end with him, so I learned a lot. I first saw the news about Ji-Sung hyungnim… Ji-Sung sunbaenim through articles, and I auditioned with a thought that it’s a good thing to make, and in the meeting, fortunately, the director and the writer saw me as really good, and I got to shoot the drama.
I only followed what Ji-Sung hyung told me, so I don’t know if I did well. But it’s a relief that you watched it pleasantly.
(1:07) I thought I would have to become really sharp. I've played a lot of young characters, college students, people in their early 20s and it was my first time playing a slightly older character, so I paid a lot of attention to having to speak more pointedly. (1:35) And the character's emotions change so much that I think I looked at the script a lot in order to go along with those emotions well.
(1:42) I'd seen a lot of things in lots of different genres except for horror, so I didn't feel any difference in that regard. Yes, so there wasn’t a backup plan. Because I originally didn’t have many shootings of judge’s profession; I learned a lot of phrases with the writer.
(2:06) There wasn't really anyone who was the "mood maker" on set. I don't think anyone had a really great sense of humor... Sorry, sunbaenim. So it wasn't like we were really laughing a lot. But I think we all tried to make sure everyone was having a good time.
(2:13), but everyone was doing it (probably: approached/tn) each other happily since the structure of the drama itself was heavy; if we were being serious, I was worried whenever that would be too much, myself. Although my character has bright sides, in reality I was trying to be brighter. Because the longer the harder it would be to remain serious, so I said to myself: “Just let’s be enjoyably bright.”
At the end of ep. 4, Yohan goes out hugging Elijah/with Elijah in his arms, when I saw (2:51). When they saw such a terrible sight. I really liked that scene. I thought that everything was really contained in that one shot of Ji Sung hyung. I really liked that scene, Jisung-hyung's only heart, I thought he was hugging his everything. My favorite line is, um, “The judge is the strongest when they follow the law.” Everything in the reality of the drama is so horrible, but... (3:17), I think this line shows the efforts of a character who still tries to protect something, and I like that.
(3:31) I thought it would really be a shame to show too simple of a character-- too simple emotions. The director never okayed it if I showed emotions too simply. That's how I wanted it, too. And they really did a good job of filming the emotions that came up naturally. So I tried not to show one-dimensional emotions. I think I paid a lot of attention to that. (3:41), I never laughed/smiled. I wanted that as well. And they shouted the emotions that came naturally well. That is why I was worried about the emotions coming out at first try (and tried to prevent it).
(4:00) First of all, I learned a lot at the shooting scene. At every scene, he (Ji-Sung or writer or director/tn) told me everything. It was like I met a teacher. (That’s why) he’s always (a/the) sunbaenim I should be always thankful to. (4:20) There weren't a lot of funny scenes. I had lot of scenes where I had to cry... I only have memories of crying (laughs).
(4:35) They set the atmosphere like that for you, so rather than saying that I cried, it's more like they made it so that you couldn't help but cry.
Interviewer: ah, but the tear scenes are so… they are so real. I guess I’m a crybaby [laughs]. I guess I just want to cry.
It’s a drama that can be shot and made once, I think. I had a lot of worries about how should I shoot this since I wasn’t sure how, but I still had the greed to shoot it. I ran to it at all costs, I think I should walk to it a little bit more, (still) it’s a work that I could catch (work on, make my own/tn).
Yes, sure. Even now I’m hardworkingly recording, and (5:27) that drama is still airing. I’m trying hard to make/play characters who are different from Gaon.
My routine-first, after The Devil Judge, I didn’t have many proper days-off, so sport/exercising. Waking up in the morning, eating a breakfast that is not heavy, home work, laundry [laughs]. Well, about laundry and cleaning, (5:57) I think all I do is laundry and cleaning.
Something like, when you just come back home and work, when I saw a clean house, I (felt like) I rested well. If the house is dirty, I cannot watch it, so (because) I cannot handle it for too long I cleaned it myself. “I should do it,” it bothered me like this. (6:17) I can't stand the sight of it, so even when I don't have a lot of time to sleep, I clean and then sleep. I have to do that to feel relaxed. It's not that I have this really clean personality, it's just that I can't look at things piling up. With clothes too, if I don't wear them a lot, I just get rid of them. I don't have that strong a sense of wanting to own stuff, so when I see things pile up, I think, "I have to hurry up and clean this."
I'm not that tidy type of a person, I cannot watch the (6:27) … . (The same for clothes,) if I see many clothes, I will just throw them to the laundry. I don’t have that (6:34), just looking at the size (makes me go) “Ah, clean it up, you boy. I need to (handle it) to the laundry,” in my thoughts.
(6:42) I'm a hypochondriac, so I think I really look after my health.
I’m a healthy man. I think I’m doing really great in laundry and (being) healthy.
Hello. I'm actor Park Jinyoung who plays the role of Kim Gaon. I'm very curious about how you watched the drama. I would like it to be the drama that would remain in your memory for a long time. I will meet you in another drama in an even cooler role. Thank you.

My Favorite K-Pop Albums as a Newbie K-Pop Stan
Some of My Fave K-Pop Albums as a New K-Pop Fan
This Blog post does include affiliates and my buy me a coffee below where you can choose to send tips as I’m not in a country that allows Stripe Pay, so Medium can’t support me. If you’d like to get your hands on BTS Photofolios, or a specially curated K-Lifestyle and More K-Pop Merch while saving money, use the links here or mentioned below!
Jay B: Be Yourself
If you don’t know by now, I’m an Ahgase. I have a strong love for these seven men who may never know me. Their songs however, have quickly found a space in my heart. Especially their Leader’s songs, Lim Jaebeom, otherwise known as Jay B or Def. His voice carries so much R&B that when my Caribbean mother heard him, she immediately joked that he was a black man in a past life. His vocals in all of his Solos and with Got7 songs satisfy my eardrums all the time.
So, when I learned that he was releasing a Solo Album in late 2022, I just had to listen to it! The album named, Be Yourself was a collection of Soul, Hip Hop paired with sensual vocals. Jay B himself has said, “I want my fans to be comforted by it.” Boy, did it comfort. Actually, for a whole month I, alongside my mother listened to the Album over and over, just vibing to the funk, old school R&B vibes it gave me. Only to realize we had yet to look up any translations for the songs.
I was so engrossed in the music that I didn’t look for any meaning behind it. When I could literally feel the meaning. The Mini Album has a total of six songs and the Title Track ‘Go Up' has over 3 Million Views on Youtube. This was hands down one of my most loved Albums in K-Pop to date. If you’d like to get 10% Off when buying your Jay B’s Be Yourself or Seasonal Hiatus Album from Daebak Company, use my code UREIGN.
J-Hope (BTS)- Jack in the Box
It really should not come as a surprise to many that this Album is on my list. I’ve loved Hobi’s solos and his rap flow since I heard him on BTS Rapline’s song, Outro: Tear as I first really got into BTS in January 2022. His duality and tone stood out a lot to me and while he deserves to lead the Title of the Best 3rd Gen Dancer, he should also be given some credit as he’s one of the Best Rappers in the K-Pop Industry.
On Sunday 31st of July 2022, J-Hope performed his debut Solo Album, Jack in a Box at Lollapalooza, for one hundred thousand attendees after fearing Armys or Music lovers wouldn’t attend. This performance was it for me. I was hooked on Hobi after this, he outshone legendary music artists that day and his performance resembled that of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
His Album, Jack in the Box no longer carried the bright colors that symbolized J-Hope, known as the Sunshine of BTS. Donning dark grunge, hip hop, R&B roots, while addressing some deep topics such as his future and society. With ten tracks on the Album and endless five-star reviews, this Album will be engrained into my head and forever change the Music Industry as a whole.
As of January 2023, Daebak company has sold out J-Hope’s Jack in the Box Merch. However, AK-Pop has Hope in a Box and Jack in a Box Merch for up to 40% off using my Link to purchase!
GOT7: 2022 Album
I got into GOT7 before I stanned BTS. I was only listening to Jin’s Solo’s at the time and was hesitant to get into BTS because I had heard all sorts of horror stories about BTS stans, the Army. Being an Army myself and engaging online, I can see that most are welcoming and understanding people. So Got7 was the first group I listened to officially, because I knew Jinyoung from the Drama, The Devil’s Judge.
Got7's 2022 Album is one of my fave from them, because of how happy and loving the Album feels. Learning that their Leader, Jaebeom fought for them to own their Name and then to self produce an Album that included songs written by the members. The Title Track, NANANA and Performance Video have over 50 Million Views on Youtube. The songs, Don’t Leave me Alone and You Don’t Care about me have a special space in my heart.
The album has 6 songs, giving you a feel-good vibe, while being dedicated to the Fans. This was the first K-Pop Comeback I have ever experienced and it was so fun, a memory to forever cherish as it really helped me through some tough times. You guys can listen to the album here or Order Got7 Merch and Solo Albums using my code UREIGN on Daebak link!
Stray Kids: NoEasy
Second to Got7 was Stray Kids. I don’t remember fully how I found them, but I think it’s the usual way. Through God’s Menu and Felix's voice. Which I listened to for a whole week before looking for more information on Stray Kids. As I said, I was afraid of getting into K-Pop because of all the rumors. But Felix’s voice really just dragged me in. Although God’s Menu isn’t on the NoEasy Album, It’s still one of the Best K-Pop Songs to date. Afterward, I finally searched more on their discography and listened to NoEasy.
With 14 Tracks that include a mixture of 3Racha madness, Pop, Rock and more, they easily dragged me into being a Stay. NoEasy holds some of my absolute favorite K-Pop songs to date, such as; Cheese, Sorry I Love You and Wolfgang to name a few. The whole Album is a no-skip, much like all the albums on this list. It always manages to make me motivated while working and has broken all my expectations of K-Pop.
The Title Song, Thunderous has crossed 250 Million Views on Youtube and the Album has won Performance of the Year 2021 and Best Album at the Golden Disc Awards 2022. Get 10% Off your NoEasy, In Life, or other Stray Kids Albums or Merch when ordering from Daebak with my code UREIGN.

Behold my utterly unasked for reviews for all of these dramas. I will be rating based on enjoyment and gayness. I'm here to be queer baiting and i need these dramas to fucking deliver.
Beyond Evil: 9/10 Plot is engaging and entertaining and goddamn do the main characters have that "obsessed with each other" "got an illness only the other can cure" vibes. like, sometimes i look back thinking "was it really as gay as i remember?" and the answer is yes.
Devil Judge: 5/10 It LITERALLY loses the plot in a really disappointing away, but it has some FANTASTIC female characters. and Goddamn. if i were rating JUST on gayness. it doesn't get gayer. this is where you wanna be to be queerbaited. don't come for the story. come for the pretty boys uhauling it.
Strangers From Hell: 8/10 Really awesome plot. really tense and enjoyable. I'm here for the "corrupting you because i'm obsessed with you" vibe. Stalker love? hell yes. Really did love this one.
Worst of Evil: 6/10 Coulda been gayer. It lost itself, and didn't use the plot tools it had on hand. the gay moments it had WERE delicious, but not consistent enough to REALLY make me care.
Evilive: 6/10 Interesting plot, liked the characters, loved the theme of corruption. Needed more gay though. queer bait me harder daddy.
Character: 3/10 Didn't really like any of the characters, It didn't USE the characters it did have. had an interesting aesthetic. and it wasn't gay enough at all.
Forgotten: 4/10 The plot was good, the end was disappointing. the characters were under utilized. not a rainbow coded moment to be found.
The Merciless: 10/10 Loved this one. Plot was tight, the homoerotic themes were so delicious. it was genuinely so enjoyable.
VIP: 3/10 I didn't spend enough time caring about the characters. There wasn't enough tension (and i don't just mean homoerotic), there were no stakes to the game. it felt very flat.
King of Pigs: 3/10 I'll be honest I only made it through about half of this one. i will say there is tension, but it's very heavy handed with it's themes so it just draws everything out to the point of being tedious. only a little bit gay. didn't enjoy this one at all.
similar flavours of shows/movies (i'm eating them all up)
#kdrama#review#queerbait#i use queerbait affectionately i LOVE being queerbaited#If i'm not being baited what's the point of watching?

You have to Know About Law Class
Law school is about the most challenging in addition to rewarding experiences students can have. The reputation and demand upon law schools will continue to expand at a rapid tempo. If you've ever experienced the "Devil's Advocate", Al Pacino (during his dramatic shutting monologue) says there presently exists more people around law school as opposed to there are actual legal representatives. I've done a lot of research and We haven't been able so that you can verify whether or not that is true, but it could not be a total astonish if it was good. Television programs prefer "Law & Order", "Boston Legal" along with "Shark" have glamorized the practice associated with law making it more appealing to young adults. Moreover, the potential major salary one can acquire through a law vocation makes it even more luring. In fact , the average getting into salary for an partner at a mid-sized practice is $93, 000. But keep in mind, a profession in law is invariably not centered round high-drama court conditions and big salaries. In reality, it requires self-discipline, a lot of research, together with strong written/oral capabilities. Let me explain… https://iuscogens.info
This might shock you, however , most lawyers do not step foot inside of a courtroom. This is just because that less than 10% of all motions and additionally cases actually make this to trial. Therefore if you dream about appearing the new Denny Crane (Boston Legal) or simply Samantha Cabbot (Law & Order) it's important to specifically focus on trial period law during your tenture at law faculty. On the subject of salary, absolutely, a lawyer can make a small fortune. But keep in mind that a big-salary jobs tend to be predominantly in the exclusive sector working with management and business clients. Furthermore, co-workers and partners from law firms work, usually, 60 hours in one week. So , you'll get paid that phat income as a lawyer.
Below are a few basic facts in addition to guidelines that you'll have to know if you're serious about visiting law school:
(1. ) In order to get approved to a quality legislation school, you must have a superior GPA and a huge LSAT score. A large number of law schools have got a formula as to where did they determine who these people accept. Yes, ones own essay and numbers of recommendation tend to be, but the combination of a healthy GPA and LSAT score are essential if you'd like applicant reviewers to be able to even consider most people. To get into a top 24 law school, you will want at least a 3. 0 GPA (at least a 3. 5 for top-10 schools) and a LSAT score from at least 152 from 180, but more expensive for a top-10, no less than 165 out of a hundred and eighty.
(2. ) Legal requirements school is high-priced. Most law universities charge $20, 000+ a year just inside tuition and costs. Private law institutions charge even more. For instance , Harvard Law Faculty charges $53, 000 a year for tution… just tuition! It's not including books, your laptop, housing, along with miscellaneous expenses. Therefore , if you're serious about legal requirements school, you'll probably have to obtain a good education loan. Or, try a hardest to earn a scholarship or grant. Here is a helpful resource to get loans, scholarships, together with grants…
(3. ) Law School is normally 3-years in length and you will probably be working nonstop during that period. Laws School is a difficult and difficult effort, especially in the earliest year. Some laws school graduates and additionally professors have perhaps said that the initial year is created to be extremely frustrating so those possibly not truly committed shall be weeded out. Therefore understand that if you enroll in law school you will not regret be a cakewalk. You will want to read hundreds of scenarios, write lengthy reports, do copious degrees of legal research, in addition to argue in front of a good judge in a model trial. So if you abhor to write or connect in public, law higher education is not for you.
(4. ) Even after anyone graduate law the school, you'll still not just a lawyer! That's right, nevertheless had comments 3 years of diligence, you're still not really technically a lawyer. One should pass the tavern exam and obtain a person's license in order to officially be a lawyer (nice play on words and phrases, ey).
Summation: I actually don't want this information to sound morose about the law class experience. It can be probably the most fulfilling ventures in your life. You'll be learning, along with mastering, something that can be involved in all portions of our lives: legislation. Once you graduate, consumers will look to you designed for advice and lawyer on important issues. And the possibility of controlling a high-profile scenario and/or making boatloads of cash is probably possible. But remember, you must have a genuine curiosity about law, or include the inherent skills to undertake the workload for you to succeed in law faculty.

THE DEVIL JUDGE
Nama drama: The Devil Judge
Genre: Crime, mystery, politics
Penasaran? Ngga terlalu. Cocok untuk ditonton marathon? Engga, kasian otaknya nanti panas, tapi kalo kamu lebih suka marathon, jangan lupa rehat. Tontonan seminggu 2x/4x udah cukup biar fresh ngikutin jalan ceritanya. Happy watching!
STOP BACA SAMPAI SINI KALAU NGGA MAU SPOILER ENDING
Jadi buat endingnya sendiri, Mbak Polisinya sempet ditembak. Ya sama siapa lagi kalo bukan suruhannya Sun Ah. Mati? Iya. So everyone, enjoy the drama!

Review: The Devil Judge
Year: 2021 Country: Korea Platform: Netflix Ji Sung has been one of my perennial favs since Secret and Protect the Boss (though I dropped the latter bc Choi Kang Hee annoyed me to no end) so this show was on my radar for a while. Then I saw some behind the scenes clips and sold my little queer heart to the devil and started live-watching (which I so rarely do as an act of self-care). Waiting each week was as exquisite an agony as Jinyoung Ga On being choked by Kang Yo Han.
The show is another entry in drama-land’s field of revenge dramas with a tortured, anti-hero judge, Kang Yo Han, played to delectable perfection by Ji Sung, pursuing his vigilante justice in a near-future dystopia. Part of his plan is the seduction, intellectual and … otherwise…, of Jinyoung’s Kim Ga On, a fresh-faced, newly minted Judge with wrongs in his own past he wants righted.
The show wrestles with concepts of justice played out in a modern world steeped in social-media, drawing parallels that show that, for all our claims to civility, we are not far removed from a past we try to delineate as barbaric and other, with its tortures and public executions. It also confronts the topics of corruption, the ability to discern truth in an age of Fake News, and what true justice actually looks like.
It actually engages with all these issues thoughtfully and meaningfully; reams of meta and analysis can be made on these points that provide unique insight into our modern world. I don’t want to discount the importance of that, and have engaged on these topics in various group chats since the show began airing. However, I’ll be honest, the thing that rotted my brain from the inside out was our leads. The writer of the show is on record as striving for queerness with his story in as much as he was able within Korea’s social landscape.
The show was written casting Jinyoung’s character in the role Kdramas usually reserve for our female lead and it is so damned gay I was forced to write out nearly 30,000 words of gay fanfiction in just over two weeks like a woman possessed, it was all just too much. This show and these two characters have fundamentally broken me in some way and I will never be the same. Do the sum of all these parts, rationally, add up to this impact in me? No, not really, but that is just the power of a fangirl brain.
The show wasn’t absolutely perfect, so I don’t quite give it a perfect score. The secondary female lead is underwhelming in many ways, both as I feel the actress felt short, and as she was written (which, actually I don’t think was a failing of the writing but of the tropes embedded in this genre). She served her plot purposed well enough but was mostly frustrating to watch, which is actually fairly reminiscent of secondary male leads in this type of show.
The other weakness is that this show was originally mapped out to be more episodes then was truncated, I believe, and the writing for the plot reveals this. The last few episodes resolve themselves a bit too easily/ quickly and could have benefited from being expanded a bit so the plot flowed a bit better. It’s a minor quibble as the central emotional relationship was what I really cared about.
Before I wrap this up, though, I have to highlight a few other elements of the show. Number one is to give a shout out to Kim Min Jung who is so wonderfully unhinged, she stepped all over my bisexual heart and left me wanting more. There is one scene, set in a barber shop, between her and Yo Han that is so intense I had to pause and walk away for a while to take it all in.
All in all, despite its flaws, this may be my absolute favorite drama of the year. The gift that keeps on giving as I look at my To Write list.

THE DEVIL JUDGE
THE CASE:
I saw promotional posters and clips for The Devil Judge, starring Ji Sung as the main star of the drama. I was intrigued, and put it into my long list of drama I intend to check out. I mean Ji Sung playing such a brazen character reminded me of when he was in Secret Love.
Feedback on The Devil Judge that appeared on my dash seems promising, so I decided to follow its broadcast.
EVIDENCE:
I couldn’t help but taking screenshots whenever the Devil Judge appeared on my screen. Seriously, that look with that hairstyle with those outfits???
After deleting some duplicates, there were 98 remaining screenshots, and around 80% of them were close ups on Ji Sung’s face. Some of them include:
MY DEFENCE:
THE VERDICT:
#BYE#the devil judge#ji sung#kdrama#kdrama review#kinda but not really#personal#anyway I'd probably be shitposting about this drama a lot so consider yourselves warned

I'm really disappointed in Strangers from Hell, it looked like something that i would like, but it really has nothing of what i like People said if i like Beyond evil or Hannibal or Devil Judge etc i would like this one. But it's simple and boring and charmless and senseless, how is it similar to any of the dramas above? The beginning actually does promise smth interesting but it doesn't deliver at any point. No character development, no connections between characters, a lot of cheap tricks with hallucinations. People are crazy or cruel for the sake of the plot, all of them very flat and unpleasant.
#strangers from hell#this is my review so i tag the drama#beyond evil#hannibal#devil judge#i really want all that wasted time back

Manner of Death (2020) Review/Rec
So I’ve just finished watching this Thai BL, and it’s absolutely excellent. So in the custom of....me. I’m gonna tell you about it.
I’ve talked before about the things that I generally don’t enjoy in BL dramas, and how I am not really a huge fan of most shows. So that’s context.
Manner of Death is the best attempt I’ve seen of any BL show at being a “real” drama, with quality plot and writing, that just happens to also involve a m/m romance as well.
But rather than just say it’s good, pretty much the whole reason I’m writing this post is that the trigger warning list for this show is EXTENSIVE and I feel I have to talk about that.
Manner of Death is a mystery-thriller about a series of mysterious deaths in a small Thai town.
Trigger warnings for: Murder, autopsies, sexual abuse, drug abuse, forced drug abuse, abortion, illegal abortions, abortions gone wrong, rape, coerced sex, coerced drug abuse, suicide, sex trafficking, human trafficking, police corruption, and probably more.
All of those are involved in the main case, not the romance. But parts of the show are ROUGH in the way things play out and how some characters are treated and what is onscreen. So while much of the show is fine and pleasant, exercise care.
Main Characters:
Bun (above right) - Dr. Bunnakit, a medical examiner who has recently returned to his hometown in a rural area after becoming jaded by like in Bankok.
Tan (above left) - a tutor and mysterious person who Bun suspects of murder. Also someone he saw once in a bar and immediately kissed while incredibly drunk.
Also all of those people. ;)
Plot:
I don’t want to spoil things because it’s worth going through the story blind. But, generally: People start turning up dead, and as the medical examiner Bun isn’t satisfied with the police conclusions, so he pursues the truth on his own.
This gets him in danger, and the mysterious Tan appoints himself his protector. Because reasons they end up living together and acting Extremely Married while investigating the mystery that keeps getting more complicated.
Verdict:
A+ honestly.
It’s still clearly made on a limited budget but the production has clearly tried to do the best they can on their resources. The severe color grading gives it a moody but dated air and covers some of the budget issues.
But this really feels like it fits in with some of the other shows I’ve recced, like Beyond Evil and The Devil Judge. It’s not quite at that level, but it’s trying REAL hard and I admire it. PLUS it’s got explicit queer romance that is REALLY satisfying. Like the ending is...SO HAPPY. I fucking MELTED. Out-Loud Squeeing from me.
The gender politics aren’t flawless, in that we get a good amount of female victims and the focus is mostly on the men. The victims do get their own stories but they aren’t really...empowering. I don’t know. It’s not a deal breaker or worse than typical US crime shows, but it’s not perfect and I feel I need to acknowledge it.
Anyway, given all of that, please go watch it if you’re interested. It’s not the easiest show to find online, unless you are a WeTv subscriber. So you may have to do some searching, but it’s worth it.
I mean look at Bun and Tan’s first meeting:

Okay, Lawful Fandom. I don’t know about you, but @madforjisung and me really want to see TDJ having the recognition it deserves and get a second season out of it to see Gaon, Yohan and Elijah again. The writer said he has plans for a second season but only if there’s enough fans that like it.
The first step is bringing more audience and attention to the series. How can we do that?
Requesting it on Netflix:
If you or someone you know has a Netflix account (you can get the one month free trial too) click on this link, type “The Devil Judge (악마판사) by tvN” and hit the red button. There’s no need to do it more than once because Netflix tracks requests from individual members and consider multiple requests of the same title from the same member as a single request.
Alternatively you can just google “Netflix Title Request” and click on the first link or log in to the account, navigate to the Help Center and follow the link to suggest titles.
Spreading the word:
Reblog or like this post, ask people to request the title on Netflix in comments sections on YT, twitter, review sites about the drama, etc.
Let’s do this.
#please and thank you#the devil judge#악마판사#netflix#kang yohan#kim gaon#jisung#park jinyoung#tvN#kdramas#gahan#lawful husbands#lawful family

Hello Luta☺,
Hope you are doing alright.💙
I've been gathering my thoughts to ask you this question for a whole week now, but I didn't know how to phrase my question (or maybe it more of request, I don't know).
The name of k-drama I'm wathing is "The devils judge" and lead character Kang Yohan is giving me strong dominant vibes, but I'm not sure if he is coded as Dom in this k-drama(because there no explicit scenes ore words that will show it) the way he behaves with people reminds me of some staff you was explaining in KinnPorche reviews and answers to some questions.
Also the way he treats Kim Gaon(second lead character)it's just 😳😳😳 to me. Like I was watching first few episode and I'm like "really👀👀?"
Example(spoiler if you will consider to watch this series): https://at.tumblr.com/chachamaru-chan/babyimhome-you-live-alone-right-the-devil-judge/qhup712a92rm
And this one literary drives me crazy why are SLAMING SOMEBODY against EVERY surface like that?
https://at.tumblr.com/thedeviljudges/spicyvampire-you-are-in-his-dms-im-currently/sqtosozrs3cy
And teaser photos are 🤯🤯🤯🤯
https://at.tumblr.com/chachamaru-chan/686111705776930816/oamhbk95je9y
I read that some people on this site draw parallels between VegasPete or KinnPorche and this couple... but the difference is that it's not a BL , but the PINNING IS THERE... and they interaction is heavily queer coded, like there is NO heterosexual explanation to their behaviour 🤭
What I'm trying to say is maybe if you're interested and would like to watch this series, I will love to and be really happy to hear your opinion on interaction between Kang Yohan and Kim Gaon. And your opinion on Kang Yohan in general.
I see people compere Kang Yohan and Kim Gaon to VegasPete or KinnPorche, so I will be really interested in your opinion on this too. Like are Yohan's and Gaon's relationships kinky as some posts on this site clime.
Sorry for the rumbling and I hope it makes any sense. 😅
P.S. If I crossed the line and made you uncomfortable in any way, please ignore this ask/request, as it wasn't my intentions.
P.S.2 If you will be interested to watch or review this k-drama please check that there aren't some staff that can make you uncomfortable or trigger you as some episodes contain references to SA.

Anna💙💙💙
Hey Anna!!!!
I am good, hope you are doing well as well.
Mmm, The Devil's Judge. I've got the book, I just need to read it. So little time, so little time.
Kang Yohan is a Dom Daddy, yes ma'am he is. Which means he can out Dom other Doms. This man ugh.. Not to mention the actor that plays this character. Umph. In all honesty, this is probably the Dom that I most relate to. Not completely bad but not good either, all that matters to him are those that he is close to. He has rigid rules. He wants them to be happy though and will not hesitate to exchange his life for theirs.
People really compare. I could kind of see Vegas cause it's that, I don't give a shit about anyone but those I truly care about type vibe. Those he truly cares about are a short list. Has it been that longs since I watched it that I'm not seeing it.
You did not make me uncomfortable in any way. I appreciate the concern though. I also really really appreciate the trigger warning. You've obviously have been following me long enough or dug deep enough to know I can be triggered. It means the world to me that you would give me a heads up. Truly, Thank You. 💜💜💜

Extraordinary Attorney Woo: Thoughts on episodes 13-14 (spoilers!)
Another bittersweet week with lots to unpack. Spoiler alert!
Let's start with the first hot topic, the redemption arc of everyone's favorite trash boy Kwon Min-woo. I will preface this part of my critique by stating the following:
Redeemable characters are great and can even be some of the best in any story. The best redemption arcs are plotted and hinted at over the course of the show and not sprung upon the audience towards the end.
At the same time, it's ok to have irredeemable characters in any story.
The fact is humans go both ways in that they can be stubborn in some ways yet open to change in others. But within the confines of a story, it all boils down to good storytelling, pacing, and execution.
Considering the format of the show - 16, 60 to 70-minute episodes - this has to be planned from the get-go and not decided in the middle especially because of a potential, and increasingly likely, season 2.
In short, I am iffy about this development.
I don't want to shoot the writers down just because we didn't see signs of Min-woo's potential for kindness in the first half of the show, but I can't be 100% optimistic about his seemingly shrinking devil horns in Su-yeon's presence. We know he's been smitten with her ever since she flipped her hair near the end of ep 9 but I don't think the show is shallow enough for him to change his ways over just that. It's not far-fetched to think he's feigning interest in her because of who her father is.
Instead, I'm counting on his characterization since the beginning of the show. Min-woo's most realistic and most consistent trait is that he's attracted to power. The motivation may not be as clear cut as the familial/financial difficulties he mentioned in ep 13, but whatever it is, he latches on to people with power with the hopes of getting in on some of the action. And if he can't succeed with the first person, he moves onto the next. Most notably, Attorney Jung made it clear that he didn't share his cutthroat ideals, not even his basic understanding of meritocracy. So, he went through the client in ep 5 and eventually, Tae Su-mi once he had what he thought was his golden ticket to Taesan.
But do you really think CEO Tae would let him get away with blackmailing her in her own office? And judging by the preview to ep 15, his threat is practically void once CEO Han beats him to divulging the info to the press.
This, along with his looming romance with Su-yeon, would put him at the crossroads of his character development. Will he blame Young-woo for his failure? Or will he realize what an ass he has been (seeing the consequences of the reveal) and hesitantly extend kindness to his rival?
Now, I don't expect a huge gesture of an olive branch from him, quite the opposite. Realistically, his pride should still stop him from doing a 180 in the next 10 episodes, let alone 2. But I must admit thinking of the set up in this way isn't half bad. Rushed, yes, but not entirely lazy. We'll have to see on Wednesday.
Moving on to the other hot topic of Jun-ho and Young-woo's break-up. In my previous review (here), I mentioned that a slump of sorts usually takes place following the momentous kiss in most dramas. And this takes shape in one or more of the following ways (verbatim from last week):
The writers give the couple something to disagree on / misunderstand because the honeymoon phase only lasts so long on and off screen.
The writers separate the couple because of a third party (family, love triangle, other).
The writers give the couple something to fix that may not have anything to do with their relationship to give the lovey-dovey stuff a break.
The couple gets boring because the relationship is put on the backburner and the writers are flipping a coin whether to set up a wedding or a breakup. (This is the worst.)
Sure enough, the first three have been realized to some degree, but get this, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Through pain comes growth, so they say, and I like to think this applies to our whale couple, too. Jun-ho has come across several practical challenges being a mainstay in Young-woo's life and he has done beautifully so far. But what's a few months compared to the rest of his life?
This roadblock is one of many that he would realistically have to face with her. Heck, any couple would have issues post-honeymoon stage. Even couples with neurotypical partners aren't always as emotionally well-equipped as Jun-ho (and even Young-woo tbh) to fix them.
I have loved how the show presents Young-woo's empathy and her journey in trying to express herself in a manner that won't be misunderstood. It's a process with a lot of trial and error, and uncomfortable for most because it means being vulnerable in a world that tells you not to be. This is what really made me love Young-woo's character. She experiences the world in ways that I would never understand yet she's still so relatable, not to mention brave and inspiring.
It's so easy to say (as people have done) that she should have told Jun-ho right away about his sister's comments, but it's so much more than that. She realized the burden she has placed and would continue to place on him so the last thing she wanted was to add to his troubles. One can continue to criticize by saying how selfish it was to keep him in the dark like that but one moment of heartbreak is small compared to a lifetime of the loneliness that he might feel by staying with her. In other words, Young-woo was perhaps misguided, but definitely selfless in her decision to set him free.
Critics should take a hint from how the case was resolved in the middle of the break-up:
JH: Remember how the Abbot said that what you see isn't everything?
YW: "What you see isn't everything. Don't be blinded by what you can see. Keep in mind the essence of what lies beyond that."
JH: Yes, that's what the Abbot said.
YW: That's right! I was blinded by what I could see that I forgot the essence of what lies beyond that.
The writer so brilliantly hints that they are both capable of doing just that. Therefore, I'm quite optimistic (though not wanting to jinx it) that Jun-ho and Young-woo are endgame. I'm hoping that her father has something to do with them getting back together once he realizes how much Jun-ho genuinely loves and cares for her.
Now a brief word about Jung Myeong-seok. Last week, we saw him freaking out about a potential attack from a previous client, stressing out about Young-woo's interest in social justice clouding her judgment regarding their case, ultimately coughing up blood at the end of ep 12. We learn a lot about his past and what he sacrificed to get to where he is now. But with his life in danger, it's only logical to ask whether it was all worth it. Young-woo says that it is, and I'm compelled to agree because deep down (again beyond what we see), his honest love for the law is what got him to this point, regardless of his diagnosis.
Based on his actions at the end of ep 14, he would probably adapt by slowly changing how he applies this love, helping more institutions like the temple, much like how the Yangtze River Dolphin adapted to freshwater. Again, I'm also optimistic that he will survive in the finale based on Kang Ki-young's well-deserved skyrocketing popularity. Did I mention his acting was chef's kiss this week? (gif not mine)
At first, I thought this week's case was understandably uninteresting so as not to overshadow the character development in both episodes. But again, taking the Abbot's advice myself, I really appreciate how the writer used elements of this case and setting (the painting, the noodle maker, the road) to tie the main storylines together. I don't want to be overly optimistic about the finale, but the subtlety of the writing this week has renewed my faith in the show's direction. Needless to say, I can't wait to see how this all comes together next week, even though I'm not ready to say goodbye to this beautiful show just yet.
Check out my midseason review (eps 1-8) and last week's review on eps 11-12!
