 Reuben Dangoor

I first discovered Reuben’s work on instagram during the 2020 pandemic, shortly after the death of George Floyd. His work surrounding racial injustice was inspiring, and spoke to many people to help begin the conversation around the subject. 

It was since then I started to become a big fan of his work, mostly his current affairs work. These varied around different topics from the importance to stay at home during the pandemic, along with the infamous “Party Gate” at Downing Street in which he portrays two police officers raiding number 10.

It was only recently I found out he was part of the team that created one of my famous billboard advertisements for the BBC tv series, Draclua. Where 3D wooden stakes are used with a lamp shining as the daylight leaves a Dracula shadow appears. Reuben has also worked with Adidas, Transport for London and most recently Arsenal Football Club.

Today I'm voting for: Top 10 General Election illustrations

TV debates (or rather lack of) has caught the attention of voters but in this general election there’s another platform raking in the likes.

Today I learned that the hashtags: #VoteLabour, #Grime4Corbyn and #VoteJeremy return over 50,000 results on Instagram.

Now type in the search: ‘#VoteConservative’, there are only 3,638 results. ‘#VoteTory’ has just 799 results and ‘#Votetheresamay’ a staggering 22 results.

So what’s happening? Behind the selfies and filters, Instagram has essentially become the Creatives’ pot of gold.

It seems like those making the most of the social media during this election are labour-supporting artists?!?
