I'm rewatching Steven Universe and I will never forgive Fandom for what it did to her

#also watching it at age 19-20 as it was released and experiencing the resulting clusterfuck online fandom response was a wild trip #im finally rewatching it again at 25 and really really feel lucky to have seen it at the age i did #i have completely different perspective on it now that i have 3 young nephews and a neice where before i was in college #the music is still as incredible as it was back then #and the animation #i cant beleive people got honestly and truly upset and violently aggressive about characters being off model sometimes #early stevens voice though kills me after awhile...... the yelling .... but his characters growth and development also being reflected in #his voice changing as he grows up #they also go crazy hard on some scenes #who am i kidding the show was a masterpiece and ahead of its time

Horror's nightmare

Horror doesn't think much on his past anymore, but his nightmares often resurface the guilt he's buried about the idea that he could have prevented it all somehow, even if it came at the cost of his own life.

Thankfully, Nightmare is here to make him a hot drink to calm his nerves and promise him a visit to his brother when the sun is up, because Papyrus will always be very glad to see his brother alive and visiting (and as sleepy as ever).

In case you're wondering Monster Kid and the dog are in the start because it's a dream #In his mind he always remembers horrortale before it started falling apart and losing people #And now... I really appreciate those who gave me some advice this morning on here about types of therapy, the conversation made me realize that the original events that created my PTSD likely were not the ones I thought they were. I've contacted some therapists who specialize in EMDR and loss trauma and hoping that will help some. Thank you! :)

#i deleted the post bci always get scared bothering others about like. Orphan stuff and how i'm unable to be close with others as a result #but the responses earlier really made me realize how likely the trauma started so much earlier than I thought + just bc i had “accepted” it #doesnt mean i was okay #i genuinely appreciate so much that people on here are so kind and helpful.#anyway ty yall and hope you have a good night!!!!

I think that Orym actually does doubt Imogen, but this isn't a thing that is unique to Imogen. Orym doubts all of them to an extent, because paranoia is something he struggles with (and this is continuously reinforced by the story).

It's not a 'good' thing that he should never get over, nor is it an immoral character flaw that proves he actually hates Imogen. However it's also not something I think he can get over as long as the threat of having to possibly fight his friends exists.

What was the vibe like as a foot soldier during the suppression of the North Finn Rebellion? Did it feel doomed from the start or did it only fall apart once the Odomache was assaulted and killed?

#Etsushir is generally very quiet and guarded and wouldn't give this extensive of a response to most people but he CAN be this #talkative when he's comfortable and being approached genuinely as a peer. He has a lot on his mind.#wrt the war:#Basically what happened was that the approach was EXTREMELY confident. The first Imperial Wardi invasion of Finnerich was an almost #one-sided affair. The Wardi side had superiority in numbers + training + weaponry. The Finns had some basal fire lances but no #muskets (and the majority had no firearms whatsoever)#But this time around the rebelling Finns had reverse engineered the muskets and produced their own. Most not of #the same quality as the Wardi muskets due to lack of resources but more than enough to be a threat #They distributed these firearms strategically by need while the Wardi forces distributed their own by rank and among elite #groups of soldiers. Which was a functional strategy to distribute this (very limited) resource when engaged in conventional #warfare but the Finns engaged primarily through guerilla tactics and thus very effectively countered the Wardi military organization.#This resulted in situations where large groups of footsoldiers armed with spears and bows were slaughtered and routed by like #A Single Guy with a gun hiding in ambush. Which was extremely demoralizing #The Wardi military forces were also plagued with infighting which only worsened when this invasion turned out to Not be a cakewalk #which made them slow and ineffective to adjust to the Finns' tactics and further damaged their own troops' morale.#Bottom line being that most of the common footsoldiers got a distinct feeling that they were Fucked pretty soon after it all began #etsushir #ask meme

Really. You don't think that it has anything to do with the trauma of knowing you can be killed or torn from everything you've ever known at the whim of your owner or even a total stranger, that even when you've been 'saved' you can't do anything to help the people left behind.

Nothing to do with being told that caring about a woman left behind in slavery is bad because it means he's attached to her, and then seeing her die because he tried to do what he was told and didn't go to her when she was in danger. That couldn't have possibly given Anakin reason to fear that if he loves someone, the Jedi will refuse to help them if they're in danger.

Completely separate from the manipulation and gaslighting of Palpatine, the trauma of being sent into a war at 19, the harm done by violently severing a child from his family and culture of origin and giving him no tools to deal with it.

No, Anakin's fall is 100% on him and the choices he made. No one else could possibly have contributed to it. How could I be so stupid as to miss that?

#star wars #my bottom line:#Anakin's fall was his responsibility and the result of his choices #but multiple parties were responsible for the psychological trauma that made him vulnerable to it #to say it's entirely on Anakin as if he just /decided/ to turn because he was selfish #no.#talking privileges revoked.#go to the shame corner.
