you know what, as funny and iconic as the scene where kuzco pretends to be pacha's wife is, sometimes i wish they did not include it simply because maybe without that scene more people would realize that pacha is intentionally written as kuzco's father figure. or idk maybe nothing would change and people would still miss the point of the movie even without it. sigh.

It's so funny to me when Gordon Ramsay is shocked when the employees don't eat at the restaurant they work at. And not even because it's Kitchen Nightmares so obviously the food is going to be terrible, but because unless it's free, and not "you take the cost of what I eat out of my paycheck at the end of the week" free, but actually free, I'm not eating at my place of work.

Why? Just so I can give them back a decent chunk of the money they are literally paying me to work there? Fuck that, I'll bring something from home or I'll eat somewhere else, but I'm not giving part of my pay back to my employers so they'll feed me.

okay confession i have never been to applebee’s bc there are like 2 in canada and i’m not seeking them out. i imagine they’re like the america equivalent to kelsey’s, in which case i KNOW that’s the important part. they are YOUNG KIDS with NO MONEY who care more about the GESTURE than the ACTUAL VENUE. it’s not about the applebee’s or about how shitty it is. it’s about them being quietly and newly in love and learning how to navigate that relationship in the spaces they have available to them

I love the ‘if life gives you lemons’ saying because it’s supposed to mean finding a positive in an unfortunate situation but i happen to be very allergic to lemons so it becomes a phrase about how ‘some things that are only a mild inconvenience for you are catastrophic for others’

There’s a mechanical sensor only in the back of their head that detects light and dark.

that’s why Gregory’s flashlight didn’t work. They don’t use their eyes as a light sensor, they use the literal back of their head.

Oooooooooo I like that HC! It also would make more sense from a design perspective. Little kids can be rough (even when they don’t mean to me) and could knock loosen/damage something from the DCAs face by accident. So things like sensors and all that are on the back, lessening the chance of reviving a hard blow.

On that note I HC that they also have other sensors back there. Like a form of spacial awareness and can ‘see’ behind themselves.

Meaning the DCAs could be seen as doing the mom thing,

Sun: I’ve got eyes at the back of my head! ;)

@skimble-shanks-the-railway-cat, pretty much what it sounds like! I haven't been back for several years so I hesitated to Google, but it looks like Mē-kun is thriving! He has an active Instagram and also a toucan friend. I don't know whether the toucan is also affiliated with the pharmacy.

I never actually went in because they were clearly catering to adult entertainment clientele and I was cautious how I conducted myself in that neighborhood, but their online presence is *much* more friendly than the storefront, and they seem to sell general items too! If anyone wants to visit...
