#this is a certified rain dish moment#lombre#bald#though objectively not bald because they're wearing a hat#who remembers the lombre living in pokémon square? i do :) i always remember… i never forget…#pmd characters… they live with me forever… most of the time…#i remember this guy in particular. i don't know why. i probably couldn't name Most of the residents of pokémon square#because. and forgive me for this#rescue team is my least favorite pmd game#i know. it's not like i dislike it or anything but it's definitely my Least Liked pmd game#like! it's the first one and it shows. and this includes the remake. which i played. and felt just about the same about#because i judge pmd games based on story and characters and writing as opposed to gameplay#i've never played a pmd game for the gameplay. gameplay is an afterthought. to me. when it comes to some games#pmd is one of those series#pokémon in general could also be considered one of those theories but the gameplay of pokémon games tends to weave#into the aspects that i like about it a lot more than with pmd#where the gameplay of pmd is almost always very disconnected from the story#which is delivered via lots and lots of scrolling text boxes#which is fine. i still love pmd to death. but the gameplay just doesn't mean much to me

pmd sky is genuinely one of my favorite video games of all time and seeing more and more recent posts abt it fills me with a unique joy bc i thought pmd was kinda just fading from people's minds bc the games got less n less good
#cyspeaks#if they ever do a remake of the ds games like with the rescue team games#they better fucking make it just be one story that is sky's#like sky isn't largely different from time/darkness story-wise but it's different ENOUGH to be the definitive edition#anyway sky is the first game that ever made me break down and bawl my eyes out so it holds an incredibly tender place in my heart

tbh replaying pmdgti makes me curious if any good pmd rom hacks are out there
#also wonder if anyone's hacked conquest#sometimes a difficulty boost to pmd is desired#i saw a cool pmdeos hack that adds more post gen 4 starters#but i want a bit more than that tbh#also conquest can still be pretty challenging to this day#especially after you beat what is essentially the fucking multiple hours long TUTORIAL CAMPAIGN#and start getting into the actual meat of the game#...now i wanna replay conquest#use one of the pokemon event codes to get a cool mon for my character to bond with#i actually have an old conquest oc that's bonded with a gible and deino#using the dragon pseudolegends in the game from start to finish is fun#even though they're powerful the game gives you plenty of powerful opponents as you go to start humbling you lmao#plus the rng of evolving some pokemon like whether you even get the special merchant to show up#to buy evolution items#they should make more pkmn side games man#i love the rescue team remake and technically the legends series is a side game#but i crave pokemon being used in different mechanics#new ranger game when...#you could easily make a ranger game using gyro controls#like okami hd port does with the joycon controls#it'd be fun!#or just use the joystick to do circles#or in handheld the touch screen#possibilities.#HIRE ME#hades.txt

i love rescue team dx . i only have 2 complaints which is that the automation mode is way too easy to accidentally turn on.:( also the art style can be hard to look at for extended periods of time . thats it its bascally perfect other than that
#people never talk about the remake since it came out but :(#i love the mechanics. hate the automation#the style is also very gimmicky i hope its toned down if theres ever a another#rescue team

apart of me doesn't want an explorers of sky remake because its so good and a poorly done remake would CRUSH me
and another part doesn't want it because i KNOW hearing a remade version of dont ever forget with the scene playing would make me sob uncontrollably
#like i listened to a cover of it recently#and i was crying#straight up crying#i also haven't fully seen what the rescue team remake is like#with how the models are animated#i know the visual style of the game is beautiful#but i genuinely don't know if the animations have as much care and emotion put into them as the sprites did#like the animated sprites in eos are so beautiful and i don't know if i would prefer to play a remake if the animations aren't as good#im gonna watch a play through of the remake

#absol#they look happier than umbreon which is strange to me. umbreon being all sad and angry while absol#known widely as The Edgy pokémon‚ is like. smiling a little bit. they're vibing they're totally fine#they're glad they got to be in rescue team#you go girl. go off‚ absol. even in rescue team they didn't feel like they had a Super cohesive tie to the story besides Being There and#helping and whatever but maybe that's just rescue team being my least favorite pmd game. but maybe that's part of *why*#if i'm right. i might not be right. maybe i just didn't pay enough fuckin attention in rescue team. there's *two of them*. someone out there#must like them enough for there to be a remake. and i know the general pmd community considers rescue team better than the 3ds games bc they#'re all nostalgia-driven like all pokémon fans and think that the older games are OBVIOUSly better even though the 3ds titles are#total masterpieces just like the rest of pmd. i'm not gonna complain abt this here bc i think the general pmd fanbase on tumblr are like#generally pretty nice and appreciate the 3ds games. y'all are nice here. elsewhere it gets scary. luckily everywhere else is crashing and#burning before our eyes. score. although apparently tumblr is also trying to given the whole “collapse reblogs” thing they're doing??#big yikes. hope that doesn't happen. anyway

been having a lotttt of fun playing denpa men
#the first one. but i was inspired to play bc of the switch veraion#btw i got the best starter guy ever NORMANNNNNN!!! the thing about og pmd rescue team is that i am not good at it and am usually surviving by pure luck
#choosing chikorita for my partner is gonna bite me during the fugitive arc i know it#but i LIKE the charmander + chikorita duo so i'll deal with it#i've literally never beaten og rescue team btw have i ever mentioned that?#i've beaten the remake many many times but the original tends to kick my ass big time
