i. cursed energy — used by cursed spirits ( eg. jogo ) and sorcerers ( eg. nanami )

it's aligned with negative emotions and used to fuel someone's ( only sorcerers and cursed spirits! ) jujutsu¹. for example:

we all know negative emotions are home to humans, however, this doesn't mean a regular human can see cursed spirits. while most humans in jjk possess cursed energy to a degree, only those whose energy's at a higher level are able to see cursed spirits ( ie. jujutsu sorcerers. )

cursed energy can "leak" from a human body & ferments until a cursed spirit manifests ( kinda like baking a cake in the oven except more complicated. ) that only happens with non-sorcerers ( regular humans basically ) — jujutsu sorcerers can control their energy + channel it into jujutsu¹.

ii. jujutsu — jujutsu sorcery, one of the key elements in jjk. it's an umbrella term that includes all sorcery-related abilities ( eg. previously mentioned cursed energy. ) aside from that, it's used as a prefix within jujutsuers: jujutsu high(school), jujutsu sorcerer, etc.

anyone with the ability to utilize jujutsu is referred to as a jujutsu sorcerer.

jujutsu's exact "age" is unknown. it's been around since curses dawned the earth.

note: you'll often see 'heian era' when reading jjk. heian era, aka golden age of jujutsu, dates back to 1,000 years ago when sukuna reigned.

iii. cursed techniques — specific abilities that activate when cursed energy is channeled ( think of the process as something similar to solving algebra but mentally. )

cursed techniques are activated by manipulating cursed energy using two key operations known as lapse and reversal + much more ( innate techniques, barriers, etc )

lapse: basic, default or neutral state of activation. when casting cursed techniques through lapse, the caster circulates their energy in a forward direction to channel it into their ability. ( it's very confusing )

reversal: produces positive energy by multiplying negative energy with negative energy ( for example using math: -3 × -2 = 6 | in math, two negatives makes a positive.) negative energy is NOT suitable for recovering but positive energy can heal physical injuries. usually it requires a very high manipulation of cursed energy so it's kinda rare.

iv. domain expansions — an advanced barrier technique and the pinnacle of jujutsu sorcery. within a domain expansion, the user's cursed techniques are improved and are guaranteed to hit the opponent ( eg. gojo's domain expansion in season one with yuuji + jogo. )

it's achieved by expanding an innate domain with cursed energy while using a barrier to construct it inside another separate space ( like sukuna's, for example. )

the caster imbues their cursed techniques within the barrier to complete the expansion, allowing them to use their ability throughout every nook & cranny of the domain.

to trigger d.e the caster must use a specific hand sign or signal unique to them ONLY. from the outside, the barrier is closed and usually appears as a floating orb.

here's where gojo satoru comes into play & why his existence itself is important.

jujutsu sorcerers are recruited and trained through two schools located in tokyo and kyoto. both schoold are the "pillars" of the jujutsu community alongside the headquarters. as population increases, so does the strength of curses. the only thing that's keeping the balance are the crown jewels of the gojo clan: six eyes & limitless technique.

gojo satoru's the only person in 700 years to possess both six eyes and limitless. his birth itself not only made him an important figure in jjk but also created balance between both worlds ( which also shifted the advantage from cursed spirits to jujutsu sorcerers ) — hence why he's one of the main protagonists along with itadori yuuji.

the only way to stop gojo satoru is to use the prism realm, however, it failed to stop gojo. all of this happened during the shibuya arc to the current arc, which is mainly focused on gojo vs. sukuna.

your story talked about faeries being able to see stuff that humans can't (the dark fire). And you said it was similar to gamma rays. can faeries see colors we can't?

Yes indeed, many of the folk are able to see a very different range upon the electromagnetic spectrum, or even a much greater range. They may even be able to differentiate more individual shades in every hue. And of course, let us not forget that they could even be capable of seeing colors entirely unique, colors we cannot even imagine. That is... assuming that their ability to perceive such things manifests as anything remotely like our ability to see certain wavelengths of light as color. Perhaps instead they might hear it, or smell it instead. Or maybe exactly 333 tiny sense organs that are easily mistaken for the tips of antlers or some other such appendage will all send a specific signal to their brains upon being hit with an exact frequency of light wave and their brain will move the 12 bones in their left vestigial wing in such a way that the twitch tells them exactly what color they're seeing. Sort of like an internal dowsing rod. An entirely different sense altogether, with all of its own nuances and insights. All of this is speculation based upon the assumption that their senses even work like our own, with nerve ending and sense organs and signals to and from a complicated brain. If, perhaps, a Faerie were to be closer to a tree, then they might sense things in the ways of those ancient standing sentinels. Trees (and other plants) have photoreceptors all over their bodies instead of contained within eyes (though you may yet meet a tree with two or significantly more eyes) and thus are capable of seeing light in a way. They speak through their roots by sending out trace amounts of chemicals into the soil and through vast networks of tree roots and fungus roots. For all you and I know, the Dryads we see as beautiful women, and the Greenmen who guard the lonely forests, could merely be a projection, a sort of living avatar of the trees or the forest. Not true in of itself, but for your benefit, a humanoid form where the preferred tree wouldn't do. (It is proposed by some researchers that not only do plants possess all five senses commonly found in humans, after a fashion, but approximately fifteen further ones that we do not possess nor require. I'm ever so excited to see where this line of research leads.) But of course, besides grand extensions of the senses we are familiar with, as well as a series of new and unique new senses we can only guess at that come with strange sense organs or entirely different biological makeups, we still have further to dream of the Folk and what they might be able to perceive. Once, when you were in a math class, you might have been introduced to the very basics of geometry. Along with a number of formulas, symbols, and numbers which we will not be going in to, they taught you of subjects such as a point, a line, and a plane? Let me remind you some of it. A point is a little dot. It is Zero Dimensional you could say, because it does not extend for any distance in any direction, but remains confined and contained within itself. Then we have a line, stretching infinitely in two directions. This is One Dimensional. If you were a creature who lived and dwelled in this Dimension you would only be able to perceive things along that line. Not up nor down nor side to side, only forward or back. Let us add another dimension. A plane, flat like a sheet of the thinnest paper in existence, so thin that it becomes invisible if seen perfectly from the edge. A being who lived and died within this plane is Two Dimensional (2D). Forever unable to look to either side, it can only see the things which lie up or down or forward or back, or any other direction you wish to give a name to, so long as it lies upon the plane and not off of it. Then we come to three dimensions (3D). In many ways, humans are in a world of three physical dimensions (at least as far as we are able to perceive for now). Like the dimensions before, it merely adds one more vector to our flat plane, one more direction in which we are able to move. Instead of a flat surface, we can suddenly move forward, back, up,

down, and side to side. Now.... what if we went further? It is easy enough in mathematics, simply account for a fourth vector, add one more set of numbers to take into account for your calculations. But how would that translate for us? We who are trapped so happily within our own perceptions? Well... let us return to our flat plane. If we were to send a sphere through the flat plane, any living flat being would see only a circle. But to their astonishment the circle would first appear from nowhere at all, then grow to an enormous size, then inexplicably shrink before vanishing once more. You see, the flat person we've made up for this exercise is only capable of seeing things that are directly on their flat plane. It can only see one very very thin slice of the sphere at any given time, so as the sphere moves through their flat world and off to the other side it appears to be changing through some strange sorcery. Now, sadly, we must cause our fictitious flat person, whom I have arbitrarily decided to name Wendell, a certain amount of emotional stress. Let us take poor, flat Wendell and turn him so that he is facing a direction that is not normally accounted for on his 2D plane. He cannot, of course, turn back. This is because he lacks the capability to turn sideways, so for the same reason he was unable to turn in this direction to begin with is why he cannot turn away from it now that we have turned him. So what shall Wendel see? Well more of the world, parts of it that connect and work with the parts he knows so well, but that he was never able to see or interact with before, parts he didn't even know were there. Like suddenly finding a new hallway in your own house that reveals an entire wing you were unaware of, but yet you cannot seem to get back to the parts you know, despite still being able to see the faded flowered wallpaper you picked out three years ago, still see the yard from the window (it is not a part of the yard you recognize, clearly your yard, but a section where the grass hasn't been mown in some time). Perhaps, if he stands in exactly the right place, Wendell might be able to hear the television still going in the living room where he left it on, still be able to catch a glimpse of the newspaper he just sat on the countertop in the kitchen. When he is where his old plane and his new plane intersect, he might be able to catch the briefest glimpse of the place he knows he ought to be. Let us restore Wendell to his proper place and look at the problem in another way. Let's say you start with a square. A flat shape. Then lets make it 3 Dimensional, a cube. Excellent. Now it has six different sides to it. But perhaps our little cube friend is being mischievous and continues on without us, becoming an entirely 4 Dimensional shape without our knowing it. What would that be like? Well... to our eyes, it would remain very much cube shaped. We could turn it and look at each side in turn, but what's this? The cube now seems to have 24 different faces instead of the usual six. As you turn it, the object seems to shift its shape, becoming almost like a hexagonal prism or a rhombic dodecahedron, before eventually returning to the shape you're familiar with but with a side you are not. This is no longer a cube, but a Tesseract, a four dimensional shape. But where is this extra part of the Tesseract at? Why can't you see it without turning this cube? It is because you are turning it through your dimension, leaving the missing sides in a fourth spatial dimension you cannot see. A direction you cannot look in. Some might like to argue that Time is the fourth dimension, and in a way, they too are correct. But that's only for a very specific type of calculations and isn't entirely relevant when looking at spatial dimensions. You could describe our ordinary every day world as 3 Dimensions of Space, and 1 Dimension of Time. Separate, but there with the other three. Now of course, you could continue on this way in mathematics, adding further vectors, directions, to shapes. Describing with fancy numbers all the

shapes you might find in a 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th or even higher dimension. But because your average everyday human can only see in the usual 3 dimensions, it becomes very difficult to visualize what things might look like with extra dimensions added on. So some mathematicians have tried to solve the problem in various ways. They either look at a four dimensional shape in a large number of slices (or pieces) and try to understand it that way, or they unfold it until it's a flat shape and they can count all the points and edges. Not a good method for seeing it properly in its entirety, but unless we manage to develop four dimensional vision it's really all we have to work with. You're probably wondering how this deals with the Folk. I shall tell you. Imagine a faerie creature who, for all intents and purposes, appeared more or less human. Maybe they move in a slightly odd way, and seem to possess very odd abilities regarding their appearance (seeming to shift colors and shapes and details with every new angle or movement). But still, they look human. Yet... you cannot help but feel something is off. This hypothetical Faerie Creature is actually a being who lives in no less than 7 Dimensions at once. A very complicated creature with a very odd and complex form. As it not only needs to interact with its fellow 7D friends but also all the Faeries and humans who exist only in dimensions below it, it has to adapt so that what each dimension sees is something they can understand. So should you suddenly gain the ability to see in 4 Dimensions you would see more of this Faerie Creature than you would before, though not all by any means. Now that we've explored this idea somewhat, let's make some important points. Some physicists have the most annoying tendency to point out various details such as the fact that we've not discovered evidence that further spatial dimensions exist or that if they do they might be very finite and looking in that direction wouldn't show you anything because it doesn't go very far (via experiments mostly to do with gravity). And others might sit and argue about the semantics of what a dimension is defined as and why time is one or isn't one, etc etc. They also love to point out that the landscape of physics is always turning, always changing, and that new things are discovered all the time which wipe away entire categories of thinking that no longer work. Or how there are a lot of mathematical ideas that are entirely abstract and theoretical with no current basis in real life. All of this is absolutely true, and well done to them for being aware of it. But still, rushing in to point it out at every opportunity is still an incredibly annoying habit. Regardless, another important thing to consider is how very alien the way a being who can not only boast of vastly different senses but extra dimensions on top of that would be to us. While not impossible for us to vaguely conceive of and write about in a tale, you run the risk of confusing your audience and shattering their willing suspension of disbelief if you stretch it too far. As much as I would love to extend myself entirely into the mindset of my hypothetical 7th Dimensional Faerie Creature with his extra seven inhuman senses and write an epic story from such a viewpoint.... the result would be a very conceptual and avant garde piece with very little for my readers to relate to and even less that they could understand without a great deal of mental effort. While a very fun exercise and test of ability, a way to explore, challenge myself, and develop my skills... It is not a story that is likely to be appreciated. If that's not your goal, then carry on. But the point remains. For those trying to build an audience, you might need to limit how many boundaries you push in each piece, slowly work your way up to greater heights, taking care to give your audience a solid trail to follow. PTSD and Math

I may never be ‘normal’ after my past, but I’ll be glad if I can function. After all, I’m not the person I used to be, and things are always changing.

BUT.

I have to request accommodations for my math class this quarter. This is the same math I passed in high school. Now we are strangers to each other, and despite the Covid lockdown, I’m getting a tutor. I plan on getting as much out of them as humanly possible. They may very well wind up hating me, but I will adore them.

Dyscalculia is real. This is why damage to the brain, be it physical, emotional, and mental, is important. This is your BRAIN. Your brain does not care which form the damage is in. Throw the dice, the roll will come up DAMAGE. Don’t even start on the ‘sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me’. We’re grown adults in a scientific age. We know that is malarky now. It CAN hurt. It WILL hurt.

And math, which is absolutely crucial to cognitive tests, your ability to function, problem solving and critical thought...in short, your ability to function without dying...is one of the first victims to be forcibly evicted from your brain under trauma. There’s a reason why people are so slow to admit--really admit--they struggle with math. They feel alone. They feel isolated. Jokes about math are acceptable, but not your feeling of failure.

Fight or flight is a simple, dark and dirty response to a threat. Once you have that in your head, you will have to retrain yourself to solve problems again. Now that I’ve realized this, my friends are talking. One said the first time she had to struggle with math, ever, was when she was under trauma. She hadn’t known what was happening--suddenly, math was no longer a source of joy, but stress and discomfort.

If you are stressed enough, you will have a stroke. 

The difference between ‘real’ and ‘imagined’ damage is written on air.

Because your brain is injured. Your brain is still doing its best to take care of you. Your brain wants you to survive. It sees something that kicks in your stress levels, and it will do its damned best to get you away from that bad situation. What are you doing? It screeches. Don’t stop to take its name! Get away from that junk! There is no amazement in learning anxiety is a contributor for dyscalculia.

Schools of all grades, colleges, training facilities and prisons struggle with this problem nonstop. 

There are recognized, legal definitions of math disabilities such as dyscalculia. It’s a bigger presence in the world than most people are willing to believe. It affects not just your math, but the proper order of numbers. Your sense of time.  You ability to hold on to money and spend it wisely--these are only a small fraction of how this can affect you.

Maybe it was being hit in the head physically. Maybe it was my brain trying to block out the beatings. Maybe it was the day to day erosion of my self-worth until I believed i deserved it. All I know is, NONE of that helped me at all. And now, if I want a job with an actual living wage, I need to struggle out of my AA’s degree requirements and put myself right back into debt with a BA. Terrifying as that sounds, I am resolved to do this. What’s in my way more than anything? Basic homegrown mail-order math functions.

So, test yourself. Play pattern recognition games on your phone, simple puzzles, sudoku, WHATEVER. Because if there are days when you can’t seem to win the level, or your concentration flags, that’s a warning sign for your stress levels. Pay attention. The Internet chuckles about this poor soul who played the same sudoku game for weeks without realizing it was the same, single game. Yes, he really should have told his doctor about it. That’s important. That’s not insignificant.

Your brain has only one job, and that is to have your back.

Make sure you have its back. You need each other.

Math. Is. Achievable. You need it to know the difference between putting your pants on your legs or your ears. You recognize the spiral of a snail shell but do you know it’s the Golden Mean? Fractals make no sense but you’re awesome at origami? What we get wrong about math is the equations are a developed system of achievement on a conscious level. You can fathom quantum physics and still struggle to explain why x=y. But once you can prove you can do this math, you’ll have a grade that no one can take away from you.

You can have a degree at the highest levels, and still possess dyscalculia. That’s a part of you. Just remember...math is about problem-solving.

Some solutions mean stop trying to take the same tests as everyone else. I guarantee you see a different number of colors than other people. You’re not the same height; ergo, your perspective will be different. You hear differently. Your brain is unique to everyone else’s. You read different books and your handwriting will never look like they teach you in school. Damn it, you are going to process differently from the rest of the world.

And you know what? Math has grown up in the past 4,000 years. Math makes allowances for truths such as different processing and perspective. Don’t think you’re stupid, or there’s something missing in your head. 

Just...learn to get to know this part of you.

H E A L T H Physical Health: Rafael is in excellent health– he loves doing any sort of physical activity, especially if it involves being outdoors, so he's very fit. He works out on a regular basis and eats quite healthy (though he's not opposed to a little junk food now and then). He gets sick now and then, just minor things like a cold or a mild case of the flu, but he's never been seriously sick or anything. Basically, Rafael takes great care of himself. Physical Abilities/Limitations: He can lift very heavy things thanks to his weight training at the gym. He's got good endurance/stamina– he can hike or run for quite a long time before needing a break. He's a good artist with a very distinctive style; he is constantly drawing, doodling on napkins, just keeping his hands busy whenever he can. Addictions: No addictions to speak of. Allergies: Citrus in general makes his mouth hurt, but sometimes he eats it anyway because he just can't resist. Mental Health: Generally good. H I S T O R Y Summary: Rafael was born in Sunnyvale, California to wealthy parents (his mother is an OB/GYN, and his father is a very successful software engineer). He was the fourth of five children. He grew up surrounded by a very loving family, including much of his extended family, and had a near idyllic childhood. Growing up, Rafael always showed an aptitude for art– he was quite a skilled artist from a young age, but he also had a deep interest in his father’s work and loved all things to do with technology. He taught himself to code when he was about twelve years old and even made a couple of very basic games just to practice. Rafael was always a great student, not exactly straight A’s since he had a bit of a hard time in his literature classes and some of the more complicated math classes, but he never got any grades lower than a B, and he always tried his hardest and studied a lot, did extra credit whenever he could, etc. He also always had a lot of friends and was a bit girl crazy in high school, so he was always dating a new girl. He was on his high school’s soccer team as well– the PE coach always wanted him to go out for the football team, but Rafael hated football and still does, so he never bothered, preferring to use the time to do various volunteer projects or just hang out with his friends. Thanks to his excellent GPA and a wealth of extracurriculars and volunteer experience, Rafael had an easy time getting accepted into UC Berkeley. He initially majored in Computer Software Engineering, as he’d always planned– but after a trip across Europe with some of his friends just before his Sophomore year of college, he had a shift in perspective and realized that he really wanted to focus on his art after all. He changed his major to focus on Drawing and Painting, which was a bit of a surprise to his family, but they were, as always, very supportive of his decision, especially since it turned out he wouldn’t lose any progress toward his degree. After graduating, Rafael decided to do what he’d always wanted to do and live abroad. He decided on living in Spain, since he had taken nearly eight years of Spanish between high school and college and was almost fluent at that point. P E R S O N A L I T Y, M I N D S E T, A N D B E L I E F S Personality Type: ENFP-A Sense of Humor: Rafael loves to laugh and has a pretty open sense of humor. The only type of humor he doesn’t vibe with is super offensive or raunchy/sexual humor, that’s just not his thing. But anything silly, clever, wordplay or puns, non-sequitur/weird humor, all of that is totally his cup of tea. Habits: Rafael is a bit fidgety and always has to be doing something with his hands. He can be still if he actively focuses on not fidgeting, but it's a little difficult for him. He's constantly drawing on napkins or little pieces of paper, on himself, and on others if they'll let him. If he doesn't have a pen handy then he'll crack his knuckles or he'll kinda rock back and forth on the balls of his feet. He just really cannot hold still unless his mind is fully occupied with something. Fears/Phobias: The whole idea of ghosts or demons really freaks him out. He also sometimes has a touch of existential dread and wonders if he’s going to be alone forever, but that usually doesn’t last long, just a sleepless night or two and then he gets past it. Strengths: Rafael is a very caring, sweet person who is genuinely interested in other people and loves to help whenever he can. He is attentive to people’s needs and tends to anticipate those needs in advance, so he is quite a thoughtful person. In general, he’s an optimist who likes to look on the bright side of things no matter how bad the situation may get and tries not to let the little things get him down. He is also very protective of those he loves, and though he is friendly to people almost all of the time, if anyone is rude to or tries to hurt someone he cares about, he won’t hesitate to speak up on behalf of or physically protect his loved one. Tierney’s powers are tied directly to his stamina. It’s taken him years and years of practice to build up the stamina he has now. In your Pinehead Headcanons #54, you mentioned that you think that Oscar will inherit Ozma's magic in time. But Ozpin stated in Volume 5 that his magic was fading, so we can assume that his magic reserves are limited. Do you think this will play a role once Oscar inherits Ozma's magic and if so, how?

Hiya Mizuike! Here’s the thing, it’s not so much just that Oscar will inheritOzma’s magic but pretty much become the very personification of it as someonewho is proven to be more powerful than Ozma or any of the past Wizards; if thatmakes any sense.

When I first shared the concept of Oscar inheriting Ozma’s magic and awakening his magical potential, I did it under the pretenceof another Pinehead headcanon of mine where Oscargains the ability to take back magic from the Maidens. The idea I had was that Cinder, upon learning that the Maidenmagic originated from Ozma, will target Oscar in an attempt to drain any bit ofpower that Ozpin claimed to be left dwindling inside him.

Back in V5, we saw Cinder take thismegalomaniac approach when she dared to steal the Spring Maiden powers. So itwouldn’t surprise me if she suddenly got the urge to pull the same stunt withOscar—pilfering the rest of Ozma’s power for herself. But in doing so, shewould simultaneously spark something in Oscar—an ability that could workeither as a semblance or just something unique to Oscar as he is an incarnate of Ozma.It is the ability to revoke magic from the Maidens and return it to itsoriginal source—Ozma’s soul.

If Ozma was able to gift his magic away during the creation of the First Maidens, then surely he (or any of his descendants) must possess the capability of taking said magic back should it fall into the wrong hands, right?

Basically, in a nutshell, what I’m hoping for is for Oscar to revoke the Fall Maiden magic from Cinder Fall, thus empowering him with her share of Ozma’s magic which in turn would make Oscar just as powerful as the Maidens. Maybe even a little stronger.

In a previous Pinehead headcanon on this subject, this is how I worked it out: When Ozma, as Isaac the Hermit, first created the Maidens, let’s say he sacrificed 90% of his magic to the girls while reserving 10% of it to use for himself.

That same 90% magical strength was then divided evenly amongst the four Maidens. Therefore, each Maiden is 22.5% magically powerful. I use this example because it would justify, in a sense, the battles between Cinder vs Raven and Ozpin respectively and why each fight concluded the way they did.

My hunch is that, despite being magically competent, Ozpin or any of the Wizards, for that matter, are only half as powerful as a Maiden. They’re practically immensely weaker now given how much magic the Wizardshave used since the Maidens’ birth.

Even with his experience and superior fighting skills, it is my belief that it was inevitable that Oz would’ve been defeated by Cinder since her magic was far superior than his. The last shot we had of their fight was Cinder unleashing her Fall Maiden magic on Ozpin at full blast while he himself used his to shield against hers. In the end, I think Cinder only won that fight because Ozpin was magically weaker than her. That’s my theory.

As for the Raven and Cinder battle—that dual was pretty much evenly matched since Cinder and Raven were of the same power level, magically. What made the difference was wit and a little outside help. In the end, it was Raven’s tactical prowess coupled together with outside assistance from Vernal that gave her an edge in finally downing Cinder in a battle that probably could have gone on forever since, like I said, both Maidens were evenly match.

No Maiden is more powerful than the other since they all share the same level of magic—hypothetically speaking, of course.

Returning to my point on Oscar—currently Oscar is only working with 10% orless of Ozma’s original magic; similar to what Ozpin has been using prior to him. And it would make sense that the magic is dwindling since, technically Ozma did used some of that magic again before Oscar’s time.

To be fair, who knows what else Ozpin or any of the past Wizards utilized Ozma’s magic to do in the centuries prior. One of my guesses is that Ozma, during his lifetime as the Phadrig—the Warrior King of Vale, must’ve used some of his magic to create the Vaults to hide the Relics. It would make sense if magic was involved in the construction of these mystical vaults since thus far, using theVault of the Spring Maiden as example, these Vaults have been very magical innature. Not to mention the room that was used to house the power of the Relic.

Ozpin—well Ozma’s magic is dwindling or currently weaker since a) he sacrificed the majority of it to create the First Maidens and b) later possibly utilized what little magic he left to forge the Vaults, tailoring them to suit each particular Maiden and Relic.

In addition to that, he also gifted animalistic shapeshifting abilities to the Branwen Twins. So let’s use math again for this. Okay, so after his life as the Hermit, Ozma had been working with only 10% of his magic, correct? (Iknow some RWBY theorists believe that the Hermit came after the King of Valebut this squiggle meister believes in the opposite hunch. My guess is that theHermit came before the King and that’s how I’m going to work it out).

Let’s say, as the King of Vale, from that 10% magical strength, Ozmaused 4% of said power in the construction of each Vault of the Maidens to housethe Relics. He may have even used differing amounts of magic for certain vaultsfor certain Relics since I’d imagine the creating a Vault to house the Relic ofDestruction, might not be so simple.

But for the sake of this example, let’s keep it even steven. So after creating the Vaults, Ozma was left with 6% magical strength.

So when Ozpin came into the picture, he was only working with 6% of the previous 10% he had since the King of Vale used some of it to create the Vaults, allegedly.So Ozpin was only 6% magically strong during his reign. However, eventually Ozpin gifted some of Ozma’s magic yet again to turn the Branwen Twins of Team STQR into his heralds—his travelling eyes in the sky.

And once again, for the sake of this example, let’s say Oz gave up 2% of his magic to turn both twins into birds. He did mention in V5 that turning the Branwens into birds only required a little bit of magic and it would make sense. I’d imagine turning two impressionable teenagers into shapeshifters was child’s play compared to what Ozma has done with his magic both in current Remnant and First Remnant.

But if Ozma, as Ozpin, yet again gave up some of his magic, what does that leave him with now? Only 4% magical strength.

At the start, Ozma was 100% as powerfulas any person from First Remnant. But after creating Maidens and vaults andshapeshifters, all that’s left of his original power is a measly 4% of howpowerful he originally was.

Let’s not forget that technically, Ozma was more powerful than Salem, mind you. Ozma defeated Salem during his second life as Diggs. He succeeded in killing her but if it weren’t for the Brother Gods’ dumbass idea of gifting immortality to the very being who double-crossed them and then dared to destroy them both—if it weren’t for that Salem would be a thing of the past.

So between our two titular remnants of First Remnant, Ozma was magically superior at full strength. This would additionally make sense from a fairy tale standpoint since in the Wizard of Oz, as the true ruler of Oz, Princess Ozma was the most powerful magi in Oz—more powerful than the Wizard of Oz and the Wicked Witch.

But ultimately, despite being sopowerful, Ozma gave away his magic and opted to work with only a small fractionof his power. A power that will soon be inherited by Oscar. But it’s such a small amount.

This is why I like the idea of Oscar taking back Ozma’s power from theMaidens; starting with Cinder.

My theory was that at some point, Oscarwill come to the realization that if he was to ever stand a fighting chance magicallyagainst Salem and her forces, he needed to be at fullpower. So after revoking the Fall Maiden magic,Oscar planned to take back the magic from the remaining Maidens so that bythen, he’ll be closer in power to how he used to be—at least how Ozma used tobe.

This then ties into my theory that Oscar is Ozma—his trueincarnation as the manifestation of Ozma’s originalbody (that he never got back) reborn in Modern Remnant. My idea is that theMerge isn’t meant to kill Oscar. It’s meant to make him whole againas he remembers who he truly is. If Ozpin is the current culmination of Ozma’ssoul plus all the past Wizards then, hypothetically, by my assumption, that would make Ozpinthe current version of Ozma’s soul.

These are the pre-rolled ability scores for the Magpie in every version of the character. Only Palladium doesn’t use Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom or Charisma. Oh no. Kevin likes to use two letter codes instead. (Or possibly four characters with at least one “.”)

I.Q. (Intelligence Quotient) instead of Int. M.E. (Mental Endurance) instead of Wis. M.A. (Mental Affinity) instead of Cha. P.S. (Physical Strength) instead of Str. P.P. (Physical Prowess) instead of Dex. P.E. (Physical Endurance) instead of Con.

Then he adds two new ones.

Okay so the first six are easy. I just convert the D&D ability score into the Palladium attribute score at 1:1.

The last two require 3d6 rolls. Thankfully my old trusty plastic knuckle bones are with me today. I roll a 15 for P.B. Yeah I’d say that’s about right. And then I roll and 18 for Spd. Jay is a fast boi.

I.Q 16, M.E. 11, M.A. 14, P.S. 13, P.P. 15, P.E. 17, P.B. 15, Spd. 18

Next we choose Race and Class. There, again, is no Dhampir and given that Palladium vampires are more like Buffy vampires (’demonic’ intelligences possessing and animating the dead) there isn’t any likelihood of there ever being any.
