IKUMI’S TRANSLATION PROJECT by BERRY BERRY SCANS ♥

Hello guys! ♥

I’m KuRo93.

As you may already know, I’m taking care of Ikumi’s Translation Project, which has as its goal to let the world know, read and love Mia Ikumi’s most important mangas. Unfortunately, unless Tokyo Mew Mew, her mangas have been poorly supported outside Japan and have never been scanned or fan-translated from Japanese. Thankfully, most of them have been published in my country, Italy, during the early 2000’s, following the massive success Tokyo Mew Mew had here. I bought a second copy of each Ikumi’s manga volumes published in Italy (Super Doll Licca-chan, Repure and Wish).

I also bought from Japan Girls fight!, an Ikumi’s oneshot published on Nakayoshi in 2004. This one in particular is pretty unknown to…the world.

  I will take care of scanning, translating and editing of the scans and will update the process in this post from time to time ♥ Some people will help me and will be credited for their work ♥ All the works will be signed with the Berry Berry Scans logo to prevent theft of material.

Please, be informed that we all have a life outside here, so we will work on the project when we will have time.

How about Koi Cupid? Koi Cupid has never been published outside Japan and the whole serie is extremely hard to find at the moment. Since we all want to read it, I will do my best to find it and do the same with this manga ♥

Here’s the full version of the swap AU Filming Industry — The B.A.S.S. Mercenaries.

The B.A.S.S. Mercenaries operates beyond the reach of the Alliance. No one knows exactly where the team members hail from, when did they become a team, or what drives their actions. They have a repuration for completing any mission as long as the price is right, though money alone won’t suffice. Payment must be made in rare metal, gun powder, and other valuable commodities. Or else, part of the client’s body will be removed, heads and cores made up a large percentage. 

The B.A.S.S. ’s service range from blackmailing, assassination, security convoy, and sabotage, as an acronym of the team’s name.

Introducing the team members:

Balisong (He/him) - Demolitionist, explosive engineer. Younger brother of Lavalier. As volatile as the materials he works with, known for his quick temper, likely fueled by his addiction to smoking gunpower — a habit he’s never been able to get rid of. Quiet and reserved, only speaks when he’s working or when the conversation touches on a subject he’s pasionate about. Rumors had it that he had been a victim of Glitch Toilet, much like Lumix. Absolutely disapproves Lavalier’s relationship with Monochrome.

Lavalier (She/her) - Assassin, team leader. Older sister of Balisong, girlfriend of Monochrome. Ruthless, efficient, beneath her hardened exterior lies a soft spot reserved exclusively for those she considers family. Slightly jealous of Lumix because she has a dashing fiancé and an adorable boy. Has a substantial bounty on her head due to her act of sabotaging crucial intelligence from both the TV faction and the Skibidis. Rumors circulates that she might have been the original prototype for the current speaker matriach.

Monochrome (He/them) - Former butler. Worked as an interrogator for the TV faction for a few years before join the B.A.S.S. Partner of Lavalier. Unlike Foley, he is a virgin, yet he loves teasing Lavalier with inappropriate jokes. An accident during a sparring match with the TV elite left Monochrome with significant processor damage. Capable of using light ability and teleportation. However, when he teleports, large amount of red smoke will leak from their body for an extended peroid. Has invented a multitude of methods to torture his victims to death using nothing but chains. Has a collection of skulls, Polaroid’s included. Lumix almost pumped his head with lead because of it.

Lumix (She/her) - Gunswoman. Former human, fiancee of Sawmus and biological mother of Polaroid. Faked her death in the Glitch Toilet accident and aidded Lavalier in reassembling Balisong, later stayed in the B.A.S.S. due to her ties with Lavalier, unable to return to the Alliance. Misses Sawmus so much that she sometimes hacks the surveillance camera in the Alliance base, or stalks Sawmus’ team during their missions. Her precision and fierceness with her shotgun is absolutely viscious (Polaroid inherits his sniper genes from her). Doesn’t have any memories of her past as a human, but she finds solace in the fact that someday she would have Polaroid as her son.

Other info: in the swap AU, Sawmus and Polaroid’s storyline remains the same. Except for the part where Polaroid never joins the science department and keeps his position as a special op sniper in Sawmus’ team.

Media: Mia Ikumi Collaborative Manga, Baying Shakedown, 吠える大捜査線, Part I Source: Personal Collection Full Resolution Download: ♡ Commentary: Recently, I was looking to pick up some of Mia Ikumi's other manga, like RePure and Super Doll Lica Chan!, and I stumbled across a listing of her work that mentioned a manga I hadn't seen documented anywhere else. It's a collaboration between Ikumi and several other Nakayoshi artists, and is called 吠える大捜査線, or Baying Shakedown. The title is a reference to a Japanese police comedy series called 踊る大捜査線, or Bayside Shakedown. The story involves the main characters from the artists' manga stories visiting the home of the Nakayoshi Editor In Chief to deliver presents for his dog's birthday. The dog is injured, however, and the girls proceed to investigate. The title seems to be a pun on 踊る, or Bayside, with 吠える replacing 踊る. In this case, I believe 吠える refers to a specific way in which some dogs howl or bark, called baying, thus phonetically parodying the original. I haven't been able to translate it yet, but the artwork is nice, and I really like the limited palette of just blues and reds. Unfortunately, this is a two part manga, and I haven't found a copy of the magazine that the concluding half was published in for sale as yet.

Okay. So basically peace happens handwave Cybertron and Humanity are united in friendship. Decepticon and Autobots are good and Megatron and Optimus are both co-ruling and it is chill.

In 2050 humans discovers a new energy resource called Angolmois Energy and use it to make and power "Selectors" which are a race of Transformers humans create to do manual and menial labor jobs except they are sentient. Earth becomes a paradise of relaxation for humanity with their alliance with Cybertron protecting them from at large.

Humans don't really think much of them beyond necesaary evil and Optimus has concerns but doesn't call them put on it. The Selectors obviously aren't happy being slaves. Rung, who has become their leader, petitions Megatron for help gaining their freedom comparing their treatment to Cybertronians in the past. Megatron agrees and he and the Decepticons join the Selectors on Earth and help them start a full scale rebellion.

Optimus arrives with the Autobots and fights them. He is, rightfully, called out on his hypocrisy and if freedom is the right of all sentient beings why not the Selectors. He is convinced and joins them but the Dinobots and Technobots flip to protect humanity and act as a third party to work out how they can bring peace without humanity getting squished or thrown off their homeworld.

Spike Witwicky meanwhile has made a swcret alliance with the Quintessons in order to win for humanity and they arrive on Earth and attack with the Terrorcons that mess everyone up.

Spike gets followed by Rung and Rung gets to see his come to Primus moment when Spike realizes "oh shit they are people and we enslaved them" right before he gets shot. Rung saves him and the Quintessons let slip that humanity's evil actions towards the Selectors corrupted the A-Energy with that evil. Whoch makes it bad. Spike realizes due to this it would make it dangerous for humanity to be near and the Earth needs to be evacuated anyway.

Handwavey battles with the A-Energy fucking with people and Selectors helping save the day and both humans and Selectors are evacuated and Earth condemned. Humanity makes repurations and apologies and Spike promises Rung that humanity will support them.

Timeskip and it shows they've settled peacefully on Mars while searching for a new home.
