Thinking about this project and how excited I am for updates is the only thing that's getting me through the fact that we may never get an anime adaptation of TMM a la mode/2020 return or even TMM ole/Au lait

IKUMI’S TRANSLATION PROJECT by BERRY BERRY SCANS ♥

Hello guys! ♥

I’m KuRo93.

As you may already know, I’m taking care of Ikumi’s Translation Project, which has as its goal to let the world know, read and love Mia Ikumi’s most important mangas. Unfortunately, unless Tokyo Mew Mew, her mangas have been poorly supported outside Japan and have never been scanned or fan-translated from Japanese. Thankfully, most of them have been published in my country, Italy, during the early 2000’s, following the massive success Tokyo Mew Mew had here. I bought a second copy of each Ikumi’s manga volumes published in Italy (Super Doll Licca-chan, Repure and Wish).

I also bought from Japan Girls fight!, an Ikumi’s oneshot published on Nakayoshi in 2004. This one in particular is pretty unknown to…the world.

  I will take care of scanning, translating and editing of the scans and will update the process in this post from time to time ♥ Some people will help me and will be credited for their work ♥ All the works will be signed with the Berry Berry Scans logo to prevent theft of material.

Please, be informed that we all have a life outside here, so we will work on the project when we will have time.

How about Koi Cupid? Koi Cupid has never been published outside Japan and the whole serie is extremely hard to find at the moment. Since we all want to read it, I will do my best to find it and do the same with this manga ♥

Still related to Koikyuu and TMMN Episode 9 As soon as the couple confesses their love for one another, the cupid with mission accomplished and proof ofsucceeding gains the couple love letter, Thus the love letter being a proof of their love.

I was wondering if you know whether or not Mia Ikumi is still active as a manga-ka? It's been almost 10 years since her last work. I just really love TMM and her art and it'd be a shame if she retired or something.

I don’t really have any explicit info on this because there’s nothing online, but I kind of assume she has at this point since like you said, it’s been 10 years since Koi Cupid. Realistically speaking, TMM was her one really big hit since none of her other stuff made it past one or two volumes except for KoiKyu, and the magazine that ran in was discontinued. If she couldn’t get another series picked up back then, then there’s no way she could have afforded not to find another job. She did do those drawings for the Nakayoshi 60th anniversary though, so she’s clearly not given up on drawing entirely. She could be working as an assistant to someone else or just drawing in her free time while working a different job.

I guess it’s also possible she’s working under a different name and/or only putting out doujinshi, but there’s no way to really tell! I hope she’s doing well.

Hello! This is KuRo93.

Some time passed from the last update. I summarized the main reasons why it took so long in this reply already.

As you maybe know from my recent, interesting findings, me and @berrychanx decided to work also on the new material Mia Kyatto and Ichigo Fuumi (even though the latter is not strictly from Ikumi). Some people helped us in polishing our work and has been properly credited.

Likely, we will work also on the “supposed Ikumi” works in the future.
