You've said you're essentially asexual. Is it possible you haven't yet hit sexual maturity? Or do you believe it is more that your species does not have that biological drive to reprodce because you are effectively immortal? Or do you think that this asexuality is inherent to you as an individual instead of your species?

I honestly don’t know. I have two members of my species who have evinced a desire to mate with me. I have no such desire. No I’ve learned nothing about how we do it, except that they both seem to want to stick their tongues in my mouth.

I think in my case, I’m either not interested, or I have possibly already been through my procreation period and regretted it for whatever reason.

So after twitter use & author Saladin Ahmed points out that Kellog is out here reprodcing a skin color caste system by having the service worker among a fictionalized world of corn pops having fun & living as the only dark skinned corn pop - Kellogg joins the “white people giving whack non-apologies” brigade with this statement:

Kellogg is committed to diversity & inclusion. We did not intend to offend – we apologize. The artwork is updated & will be in stores soon.

What really bothers me about this apology is the implication behind literally saying “don’t forget to darken the skin of that service worker so folks really understand the corn pop social order here” AND THEN following that up with “we did not intend to offend.”

Here’s why it bothers me, this idea that an obviously race based decision that makes a point allocate darker skin to the corn pop serving the rest of a fictionalized scenario isn’t something that should be offensive. And then to precede that with this statement of commitment to diversity and inclusion. 

1) A lot of racist companies and organizations who perpetuate racism are committed to performative acts of diversity & inclusion so that means nothing.

2) Lets talk about being committed to actually being informed on these deeply systemic issue that impact real human beings

3) If you really want to apoligize,IMO, take a break from talking about all the things you’re doing “right” and actually own up to the mistake. State that you have a lot of learning to do and name the fact that this is a result of uninformed folks making marketing decisions that they are not qualified to make. Show that you actually understand what you did wrong.

Isn't there like a critical point in underpopulated where the species can't survive because of inevitable inbreeding that you'd hit before you had no members of the species able to reprodce with eachother?
