Don’t Fry Day
Be aware of the dangers of sun exposure and try hosting an indoor picnic or movie marathon on the Council for Skin Cancer Prevention’s No Fry Day.
Although it might sound more like a dieter’s mantra, Don’t Fry Day is actually not about eating healthy food. Instead, the day is an initiative of the National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention. So get that SPF sunscreen on hand and get ready to celebrate Don’t Fry Day!
History of Don’t Fry Day
Since the beginning of time, the sun has been critical for human life on planet Earth. Without the sun, people would literally freeze to death! But, less dramatically, people who do not get enough exposure to sunlight can have health problems such as Vitamin D deficiency and decreased serotonin. Lack of sunshine has also been linked to other health problems such as bone problems, skin problems, weight gain, depression, some cancers and more.
With that in mind, it’s important to remember that this day is not about making sure that people don’t get any sun exposure at all! The purpose of Don’t Fry Day is just what the name says – be careful not to get a sunburn.
The Skin Cancer Foundation, National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention, and other important organizations have made it clear that getting a little sun is good, but getting too much sun, or a sunburn, can be dangerous. Especially if sunburns are repeated over and over again. In fact, sunburn is a leading cause of a few different forms of skin cancer, including the most deadly one, melanoma.
The great news is that sunburn is completely preventable! And that’s why Don’t Fry Day was established by the National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention, to raise awareness for the various actions that can be taken to protect and prevent children and adults from too much exposure to the sun.
Situated just in advance of the warmest months of the year, at least in the northern hemisphere, Don’t Fry Day offers a kind reminder each year for people to be careful and take care of their skin health!
How to Celebrate Don’t Fry Day
Try out some of these ideas for celebrating Don’t Fry Day:
Use Sunburn Precaution Tactics
With the days of tanning and basking in the sun all day long behind us, the words on everyone’s lips these days might be something along the lines of ‘slip, slop, slap and wrap’. This little mantra can be a great encouragement for sun worshippers to slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen (SPF 30 and above is ideal), slap on a hat, and wrap on sunglasses.
Throw Out Old Sunscreen
One important thing to remember is that sunscreen can lose its effectiveness after sitting for a while. So be sure to check the expiration dates on bottles of sunscreen and throw out anything that is too old to be effective. If there’s not a date on the bottle and no one in the family can remember when it was purchased, then it’s probably time for it to go!
Teach Kids About Sun Exposure
Don’t Fry Day is a great opportunity to teach kids about being sun smart in a light-hearted way. Sure, a little sunburn might not feel like the end of the world just one time, but kids need to know that prolonged exposure to the sun without protection, especially in certain areas of the world, can be a health risk. So perhaps parents and teachers can try to make the education about Don’t Fry Day a bit fun and talk about ways to avoid becoming a lobster and living in the pain of sunburn through prevention and protection methods.
Host an Indoor Activity
Rather than staying out in the sun all day, why not celebrate by holding an indoor picnic and having a movie marathon for at least part of the day? Or if the weather’s nice, grab some friends, get a beach umbrella, and have some sun-smart fun in the great outdoors. Just remember to follow the rules: slip, slop, slap and wrap between the hours of 10 and 4!

Flexibility of LED Displays: From Hospital to Banquet Halls
LED displays now are deployed through various sectors with dynamic visual solutions tailored to very specific needs. They enhance patient care within hospitals and confer communication within conference rooms. In banquet halls, they make events more valued, whereas in rentals, they serve the needs of temporary demands. Let's look through some of the applications of LED displays into hospitals, conferences, and banquet halls, along with the rising demand for LED screen rentals:
LED Displays in Hospitals: The Next Horizon of Health Care Communication
LED display for hospitals by Jona LED have emerged as the next generation of change in the methodology of passing on information, thereby enhancing the experience of the patient and the staff. These are found to be rather widely used in:
Waiting Rooms: Parents and patients can find live information regarding their appointments, doctor availability, and critical health alerts. This rids confusion and therefore reduces anxiety during lengthy waiting times.
Operating Theatres and Emergency Rooms: Critical information regarding patients, including their vital signs and test reports, will be displayed on the LED screens on which doctors and medical staff can decide very quickly. Displays will be bright and clear under pressure and poor lighting conditions.
Hospital Corridors and Nurse Stations: Hospitals can really put LED displays to good use by streamlining their operations in the presentation of important notices, emergencies, and the availability of rooms. They make the perfect way to communicate essential hospital regulations, security instructions, and healthy guidelines.
A hospital LED display ensures communication that may be used in saving lives, smoothing workflows, and, above all, improving the overall efficiency of a medical environment.
LED Displays for Conference Rooms: Perfect Facilitating of Professional Communication
An LED display for conference room by Jona LED has become an integral in the business world for smooth communication, presentations, and decision-making. Several benefits to the business fall in line:
Efficient Presentations: Whether it's a small meeting or a large conference, LED screens offer impressive quality visuals regarding PowerPoint presentation, video conferencing, and teamwork tools. High definition ensures the leaders of the business may present data, charts, and graphs with clear detail.
Interactive Features: LED display with touch-based interaction would enable each member of the team to work right on the face of the display during brainstorming, thus making it more engaging.
Diverse Range of Sizes: From a small size of the board room-led to high-capacity video walls for auditoriums, ample number of options are there as per room size and requirement.
Using LED displays within the conference room can cater to better business communication, collaboration, and productivity.
LED Displays for Banquet Halls: Elevate an Event to New Heights with Jaw-Dropping Visuals
Be it a wedding, corporate event, or gala, banquet halls constitute the par excellence of venues. The difference that can be made in the experiences of organizers and guests through a LED display for banquet hall by Jona LED is truly immense:
Event Backgrounds: LED screens can be used as customized backgrounds for events by displaying live feeds, event programs, or dynamic visuals that may match the theme of the occasion.
Real-time Engagement: In case of an award ceremony or a wedding reception, LED screens can display live updates, social media feeds, or live video streams to engage and educate the audience on what is happening.
Customizable Content: If you wish to present your company branding during a corporate event or play a personalized video during a wedding, then LED screens can be customized according to specific needs of an event.
Because of their ability to create immersive and interactive environments, LED displays are a vital tool for banquet halls that want to give their guests unforgettable experiences.
LED Screen Rentals: a Cost-Effective Flexible Solution
LED screen rentals by Jona LED offer a cost-effective and flexible solution for businesses or event organizers that may need LED screens for temporary purposes.
They can be used in some exhibitions/trade shows to attract the attention of the audience by using vibrant visuals for such commodities, services, or promotions.
For outdoor concerts, sports events, or community festivals, many companies provide weather-resistant LED displays that could be the best choice under circumstances.
For pop-up installations, such business houses that organize some temporary event or promotion may not necessarily be required to invest large upfront, but, instead, they could rent a high-quality display.
Rentals allow the use of the screens based on one's preference as far as size and resolution are concerned, fulfilling both the short-term requirements and the long-term needs, thus not incurring the hassle of maintaining and deploying them.
Starting from the critical environment found in hospitals, LED displays are then found in the creative settings of banquet halls. From the improvement of medical communication, enhancement of corporate meetings, high-class social events, and renting temporary LED screens for a one-time occasion, these displays provide unmatched flexibility and clarity.

When 5sos say the show is available on demand what does that mean? Like what platform is it available on, I don't see it on YouTube? Thanks for the help!
I'm glad you asked, I've seen a lot of confusion about this!
This release is being handled as a movie would, so it's available on the platforms you would typically go to rent or purchase a newly released film. For example, in the US, I see it available on Amazon, Google Play, Vudu, Microsoft and YouTube Movies. (These are US links so if they don't auto redirect to your country's version, try searching on your store!) It looks like pricing is generally in the same range (Amazon is a bit higher, go figure), $3.99 for a 48 hour SD rental, $4.99 for HD and $9.99 to purchase in SD, $11.99 HD.
I assume the promise of "more territories soon" refers to the platforms listed above possibly not being available in all countries (I believe Vudu in particular is US only) and they're working on getting it on similar rental/purchase platforms worldwide.
The continued usage of the phrase "on demand" rather than "streaming" leads me to believe that there are currently no deals in place with a subscription service (such as Netflix, Apple, HBO, Disney, Hulu, etc) and that it will remain exclusively on these types of rental/purchase platforms unless something changes with the licensing.
Hope this helps! 💙
#literally as i was typing this Ash ig storied the fuckin links i spent 10 mins gathering but 😁😂#i have seen a lot of surprise/disappointment that it is something that needs purchasing#but to be fair both rental and purchase are significantly cheaper than we were charged to stream live#and in my mind this is the same type of deal as if they had released a physical dvd#it's just that a physical dvd would probs lose them money with manufacturing tbh so digital services are the way to go#and really we know with them paying for this stuff is an investment we know we'll get a return on#we're essentially putting money towards the NEXT special like this or like the anniversary show (which WAS free) yk?#just my two cents tho 🤓#anyways hope this answers your question! 🥰#ask#anon#royal albert hall one night only

National Stay Out of the Sun Day
From carcinomas to sun burns to wrinkles, avoid the negative effects of the sun by staying indoors or in the shade, or investing in a sun shading hat or parasol.
Everybody loves a sunny day, but in the height of summer it’s easy to get dehydrated, sunburnt and worse. Stay Out Of The Sun Day is about looking after yourself by taking a day away from the sun and finding some nice, relaxing shade – and if you are out and about, make sure you’ve got sun cream, plenty of water and some shade!
Learn about Stay Out Of The Sun Day
Do you consider yourself a bit of a sun worshipper? Well, it’s time to have a day off! Stay Out Of The Sun Day is the perfect chance for you to stay indoors and shield yourself from the UV rays.
This day is about giving our skin a break from the sweltering heat. If you simply cannot resist going outside, then you can always find a nice bit of shade, yet make sure you wear sunscreen and make an extra effort to protect your skin. That is what this day is really about.
Moderate exposure to the sun can provide you with a natural and healthy dose of Vitamin D. However, if you end up spending too much time in the sun, this can result in skin damage. This can speed up the ageing process, which we’re sure no one wants!
Plus, there are also links between too much sun exposure and skin cancer, which is why it is so important to make sure you educate yourself and protect yourself when sunbathing. Use Stay Out Of The Sun Day to educate others as well. After all, if you reach just one person, you could actually end up making a difference.
History of Stay Out Of The Sun Day
When you consider the fact that there have been scientific studies into the link between skin cancer and the sun, it is of no surprise that someone decided to create a Stay Out Of The Sun Day in order to encourage people to protect their skin. Skin cancer is the second most common type of cancer for those between the ages of 15-years-old and 29-years-old. Staying out of the sun is the best way to protect your skin.
Nevertheless, we can also use Stay Out Of The Sun Day as a day of education. You can find out more about the damage the sun can cause, as well as the different steps that you can take to ensure you still experience the benefits of the sun but that you protect yourself at the same time. Make sure you share your findings with other people to encourage them to be safer while they are in the sun too.
How to observe Stay Out Of The Sun Day
There are so many different things that you can do to celebrate Stay Out Of The Sun Day. You could decide to spend your day participating in other activities that are good for your health. For example, rather than spending all day in the sunshine, why not hit the gym instead?
This is a great act of self-care, and it will ensure you’re out of the sun, even if it is for one day only. Of course, you could take a dance class or partake in any other sort of exercise.
What about if the sun is shining in your area and you don’t get many sunny days? We understand if you would want to make the most of a situation like this. However, you can still enjoy the sun and the great outdoors while ensuring you are not directly beneath it.
Instead, why not find your nearest willow and try to take cover underneath it? You can enjoy a moment to relax, taking in all of the beautiful nature around you. You can even get stuck into a good book!
If you are going to be taking a trip to the beach on Stay Out Of The Sun Day, please make sure that you are extra careful. There are many different ways that you can do this. Staying hydrated is, of course, the number one rule! Aside from this, you need to make sure that you lather yourself in sunscreen, and we mean a high factor sunscreen!
You can also throw on your favorite floppy hat and hoist an umbrella into the sand to make sure that you have plenty of protection while still enjoying a fun day at the beach.
If you are not desperate to go outside, then you can use Stay Out Of The Sun Day as the perfect excuse for you to kick back and enjoy the great indoors! A lot of people love nothing more than chilling on the sofa and watching their favorite TV series or enjoying a movie marathon.
With Stay Out Of The Sun Day, you have the perfect excuse to do this and you do not need to feel guilty about having a bit of a lazy day. After all, we all deserve time to relax and wind down from time-to-time.
If you are going to be staying indoors, why not use this time to watch a television show based on the sun or a movie? There are a lot of different classic films with ‘sun’ in the title. This includes A Place in the Sun, Little Miss Sunshine, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Empire of the Sun, and Tears of the Sun. Some of the different shows that you could watch include Shahs of Sunset, Sunset Beach, Sunshine, 3rd Rock from the Sun, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, although we do not recommend watching the latter with young viewers. Or, why not listen to a bit of music? KC and the Sunshine Band is the obvious choice that comes to mind here!
If you do have children, you can spend the day doing some sun crafts. All you need to do is a bit of digging online and you will see that there are so many different fun and exciting craft projects that you can work on with your children in honor of this day.
This includes sunshine watches, suncatchers, and much more! Make sure you use this as an opportunity to educate your children about the sun as well. You can teach them about the science behind the sun, as well as informing them of why it is important to protect yourself from the sun’s rays and the different ways that this can be achieved.
