The Hoax by happyaspie
No Archive Warnings Apply | Rated T | Chp. 1/? | No Powers AU, OOC May Parker, Peter Parker, Tony Stark, Happy Hogan, Ned Leeds. Warnings for Gaslighting and Emotional Manipulation.
Summary: Even after years of no evidence, Tony Stark refused to stop looking for his kidnapped son. Some people called it false hope, others called it fatherly love. But May Parker called it an opportunity.
“You and that kid share quite a few similarities, and the case has so little evidence. With your help, I really think we could use those things to our advantage.” Peter was dubious. “How, though?” he asked, his tone teetering toward sarcasm. It was a natural impulse that he couldn’t consistently avoid. No matter how hard he tried. “What do you want me to do? Knock on Tony Stark's front door and pretend to be Arno?” May said nothing as she stared at him from across the table. Initially, he didn’t understand. But as she elevated her eyebrows and tilted her head, it clicked. That was exactly what May wanted him to do.
[Exceprt Below the Cut]
Peter sat down at the kitchen table and twirled some spaghetti around his fork. Of all the things his Aunt May attempted to cook, pasta topped with a jar of tomato sauce and some cheap parmesan cheese was his favorite. He considered not mentioning his backpack had given up on him part way through the school day. He knew she’d be disappointed and didn't want to ruin the pleasant meal. However, no amount of pleasant conversation was going to make it any easier to get around his giant high school without a bag. He sighed nervously and glanced down at his plate. “I, uh, I need a new backpack,” he mumbled under his breath.
May brought her finger up to her ear and tapped it, her face one of disbelief. “Excuse me?” she questioned. “What was that?”
Peter swallowed hard and forced a smile. “I need a new backpack?” he repeated louder and with more clarity than before.
A huff of annoyance escaped May’s lips as she dropped her fork and crossed her arms over her chest. “I bought you one right at the beginning of the school year,” she replied.
“Yeah, but one of the seams ripped,” Peter attempted to defend, then pulled his lip between his teeth. May has asked him to quit the band, Academic Decathlon, and robotics club so he could get a part-time job. He’d easily complied, eager to contribute to the household income. Although he didn’t actually know how much he was actually helping. Each week he signed his check over to May, and she deposited it into her account. He never asked where it went after that. “If you would-” he began but quickly backtracked. “I mean, If I could just use a little bit of my paycheck from Delmar’s, maybe-”
“Peter. Sweetie,” May gently interjected. “You know that money is supposed to help us pay the bills. You don’t want to be the reason we can’t afford rent next month, do you?” she asked, her smile not quite meeting her eyes. “This neighborhood is expensive. Every little bit counts.”
“I don’t know. It’s a lot of books and stuff,” he unsurely replied. Even though his best friend was kind enough to allow him to use some of his locker space, Midtown was a specialized science and technology school. His schedule was rigorous and required a lot of materials. He wasn’t sure carrying everything around was all that reasonable.
“Don’t be selfish, Peter,” May mildly scolded. “There are only a few weeks of school left to go. You can get by with one of my reusable shopping bags until then.”
May was right. Peter knew she was right. There wasn't too much school left. Carrying his supplies around in a stupid cloth shopping bag wouldn’t kill him. Even if there were a handful of students who would never let him live it down. Starting with Flash Thompson. But he could handle that if it meant making things easier for his aunt. “Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I’m sorry. You’re right. It’s fine,” he swiftly agreed. He glanced at his half-eaten dinner and bit back a sigh. “May I be excused?”

Long Hot Summer
The Rise of the Far Right on Britain’s Streets
Tumblr media
Source: Sky News
By Honest John
SUDDENLY, BRITAIN’s fascist moment seems to be a little bit closer. As the summer’s temperatures rise, so does the heat on the street, and the far right are now on a wholly nihilistic march. It has been clear for some years that the fascist right in this country has long abandoned its historical attachment to anti-semitism and visceral biological racism and has turned its focus on Islam - portraying the religion, but more importantly, Muslims themselves, as fundamentally opposed to British values and with an intent to “take over” the country culturally and in population terms. This anti-Muslim stance is allied to a hostility to illegal migration (the “small boats” of Rishi Sunak’s half hearted culture war) and a peculiar advocacy for authoritarian law and order despite the far right “protests” being reliably intimidatory and destructive in towns and cities all over the U.K. since the appalling murders of three children in Southport last week.
There have been a series of “incidents” over the last month that have provoked the spin offs of the disbanded English Defence League, which are myriad and hard to pin down but nonetheless organised, to take to the streets in overtly anti-Muslim, anti-immigrant and racist riots masquerading as protests. The first was a punch-up at Manchester Airport, recorded on CCTV and phone video footage, when two thuggish Asian lads assaulted police officers called to break up a fight, but which culminated in one of said lads being tasered and then kicked in the head while helpless on the floor by an armed officer clearly out of control. This led almost immediately to a liberal leftist/Muslim activist rent-a-crowd protest against alleged racist policing and the Asian boys being represented by dubious lawyer Akhmed Yakoob (who has form as a pro-Gaza candidate at the General Election, and also outed as a base misogynist). What should have been no more than an “incident” requiring investigation, soon took on the contours of a culture war as hyper liberal activists in possession of half the facts turned the fight into a “Muslim” issue and the reliably loathsome Reform MP Lee Anderson opined that he would like to give the police officer who kicked the prone suspect in the head, a medal for his assault. The temperature began to rise, despite the nuanced nature of the affair (significantly Yakoob has since dropped the case).
This incident had been preceded a few days before by a riot in the Hatfield area of Leeds instigated by the Roma Romanian population in response to some Roma children being taken into care by police and Leeds Social Services for Safeguarding reasons. The riot was large scale, dramatic and involved burned out vehicles, damaged buildings and assaults on the police who at one stage vacated the Hatfield streets altogether. This situation got the right wing media outlets (GB News, Talk TV, the Telegraph and the Mail) into a lather along with malign YouTubers like conspiracy theorist and Muslim-hater Charlie Veitch, who arrived in Hatfield to proclaim the site of a burned-out bus was a result of an “Islamist insurgency”. There are legitimate concerns about how the Roma community behaved in Leeds, but whatever the Hatfield riot was, it was neither Islamist nor an insurgency: it was a reaction to what was perceived as a kidnapping of children by the British state, by a group that is over 95% Christian. The riot had literally nothing to do with Muslims or Islamism. But such facts do not get in the way of the false reporting by the right wing media or the “patriotic” Tik-Tokkers and YouTubers that now proliferate.
And so the scene was set for the explosion of far right rage that followed the terrible murders of three young girls attending a Taylor Swift dance class in Southport by a 17 year old young man of Rwandan descent, born in Cardiff and a Southport resident. In the time it took for these crucial details about the identity of the murderer to be revealed, the far right had developed an entirely invented narrative of its own: the murderer was an immigrant, worse than that he was an illegal who arrived in a “small boat”; the murderer was a Muslim called Ali Al-Shakati and an Islamist terrorist to boot. The lines between all three incidents were connected to present a situation of migrants and Muslims, aided by their leftist allies, fighting murderously and violently against British values and British citizens. The fact that none of this was true (the alleged murderer, Axel Muganwa Rudakubana, is likely also to have a Christian background) was irrelevant to the EDL successor groups. In no time Southport, Westminster, Hartlepool, Leeds, Nottingham, Sunderland and many other towns and cities became scenes of riot, intimidation, destruction and the violent targeting of mosques. The would-be Ernst Rohm figure of Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, absurdly known to his fans as “Tommy Robinson”, swaggered through the streets of London, mouthing anti-Islam banalities, until his arrest under the Terrorism Act, but clearly not in charge of anything very much, and even less so since his flight from the U.K. to avoid his court appearance. The far right cells who are organising the disorder are organic in nature, their actual leaders unknown. Their ideology is unclear, but they are given cover by the cynics of GB News (with particular reference to the atrocious Mike Graham and Isabel Oakeshot) who openly describe the criminal activity as somehow a legitimate expression of patriotic opinion by an English population pushed too far. The groups are however also given legitimacy by the ultimate provocateur, Nigel Farage MP, sitting like a Prussian aristocrat in 1930s Germany speculating on whether the government or the police are being entirely honest about the Southport murders, while the modern equivalents of the Brownshirts run riot in British towns. This is the real danger of the swirling toxicity of the current unrest. The middle-aged flag-waving male thugs are easily dismissed as criminals, conspiracy-believing oddballs and yobboes, but their enablers in the right wing media, Reform and the Tory right, provide a level of encouragement, justification and even ideological ballast to what currently remains a street movement but, under more serious leadership than that of Yaxley-Lennon, could morph into something far more sinister.
So what is to be done?
Keir Starmer for the second time in a month, struck precisely the right tone and spoke for the decent majority of this country when he described the rioting as driven by “far right hatred” and announced an intention to protect Muslim citizens from harm and to pool police, security and anti-terrorism resources to combat the extremists on the street, but also to break up its cellular structure. This hard action must be taken. The issue of a Section 34 Dispersal Notice in Greater Manchester which blunted far right action this weekend, is a start. History tells us that the far right do not go away and a level of force is what works to disrupt them - but administered by the police and judiciary, not by left wing groups and their “smash the fascists” placards, who usually prove themselves incapable, in reality, of “smashing” anything very much.
Probably more importantly, is the need for the government and Ofcom to pay far more attention to the toxic falsehoods sprayed indiscriminately by the likes of GB News and Talk TV, and to insist misinformation posing as news is banned and political opinion is confined to explicit opinion slots. Influence over the Wild West of social media is more difficult but the faux-legitimacy of the right wing TV outlets is dangerous while our streets burn, so their lying output must be controlled. Parliament must also exercise control over maverick MPs. In the aftermath of Southport, Farage chose not to attend the House of Commons and represent his constituents but instead decided to post a video slot encouraging conspiracy theorists and rioters. It is high time that the indulgence of Farage’s hail-fellow-well-met persona ends and if an MP can be seen to be implicitly endorsing criminal activity, he or she should be hauled before the Privileges Committee, or even prosecuted.
My final recommendation is hard to make. I believe we have reached the limits of identity politics and multi-culturalism. We talk casually of the “Muslim community” in this country when in reality, there is no such thing. The self-identification of population groups who once described themselves as Asian or South Asian as “Muslim”, prioritising religious identity above all others, together with the “Arabisation” of Islamic observant clothing and Qu’ranic interpretation thanks to the influence of Saudi-funded preachers and madrassas, makes the Bengali, Pakistani, Afghan and Indian heritage population visibly different and just the sort of potential scapegoat for societal woes that fascism thrives on. Together with assertive Muslim activism, this level of identity politics gives credence to the othering narrative of the far right. As a democrat, this is difficult to write. Why shouldn’t people be able to wear what they want, worship as they wish, believe what they believe? But in an increasingly divided society, I believe the priority for identity groups should be to accentuate the common social concerns they share with all other communities and to seek far more enthusiastically to integrate with the majority population while maintaining their beliefs. Such a shift after at least twenty years of embedded identitarianism will be difficult and it may never happen, but I maintain that social solidarity is a crucial factor in the long term defeat of fascism and racism.
It may be that these riots will fizzle out as the weather cools, but the current moment feels it might be leading somewhere very dark. An organised street fighting movement, aided by a toxic right wing TV media and encouraged by a far right Parliamentary presence carries too many historical echoes for comfort. All eyes are now on Starmer and Yvette Cooper to control the symptoms of street disorder, but by far the greatest priority is for the Labour government to create a fair economic settlement for all British communities and thus consign the paranoid and violent fantasies of the far right into the dustbin of history, once and for all.

OCxCanon Week Day 5, 6, 7
I've been very sick so Day 5, 6, and 7 are all gonna be short. Also hope they make sense, I tried my best to make them as read able as possible despite how unwell I am. Day 5
Prompt – Getting into trouble Laurie King x Steve Harrington (Stranger Things) “Let me get the popcorn and we can start.” Laurie gives Steve a kiss on the cheek before getting up from the couch. Steve smiles watching Laurie head over to the stove to grab the Jiffy Pop though once Laurie is far enough away Steve's smile momentarily turns to a frown.
Steve has been thinking about earlier today and he chooses to believe that his boss bought his excuse. New releases are not supposed to be held for anyone, including staff. Period. To be fair though Steve had told a version of the truth; he hadn't held the movie, he just hadn't gotten the chance to process the return so it could be rented by someone else till one minute before close. With no one else in the store that meant it was free to be rented by him.
His boss though did comment about how he thought he had noticed the tape in the morning returns bin and went out of his way to remind Steve of the rules. Not that it matters to Steve either way as he didn't get into any real level of trouble, or at most a tiny bit of trouble.
He hopes.
The smile returns as Laurie comes over with a bowl full of popcorn. Laurie has been dying to see this movie and he's been near giddy that Steve was able to grab a copy so soon. He had wanted to go with Steve to see it in the theatre but it's not the type of movie two male 'friends' go see together. Having it be their Friday night, at home date night so soon after rental release seems to be just as good for Laurie.
Which has Steve double down on the thought he had when he set his devious plan in motion this morning. What's getting into a little trouble at work when you get to make your boyfriend so happy? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Day 6 Prompt – An intimate moment Nigel Leeds x Isaac Lahey (MTV's Teen Wolf) Nigel lets out a scream as he sits up, looking around wide eyed and blinking he finds himself to be so confused. He realizes he's laying in a bed. He can feel sweat, and sweat soaked sheets sticking to his skin.
Isaac waits; knowing that he has to give Nigel a moment to catch his breath, figure out his surroundings, and calm down before speaking. “Nightmares about your family again?”
As Nigel nods his head Isaac pulls him close. Sure he could remind Nigel how when push came to shove Nigel whooped his father's ass, or how now that the Jersey Devil is part of the pack he won't have to face them alone if they ever do come back for some reason but instead Isaac chooses not to say anything.
Isaac knows the types of fears fueling these nightmares don't care about reason, or recent events. They're built on so much horrific past experience and subconscious fears that they are immune to logic. The best thing Isaac can do is hold Nigel close, comfort him and if Nigel needs to talk be there to listen. The two stay the way they are, not speaking, simply being till Nigel falls asleep in Isaac's arms some time later; at which point the werewolf allows himself to drift off still holding his love tight.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Day 7
Fashion - Pajamas Laurie King x Steve Harrington (Stranger Things)
“Are you really gonna throw this out?” Laurie picks up the latest addition to Steve's 'get rid of' clothing pile.
Steve smirks, confused; “Yeah it's just an old t-shirt? Why would I keep it?”
“Looks comfy...” Laurie holds it out in front of him. “...and a little stretched out.”
Steve shakes his head; “More reason to get rid of it.”
“Can I have it?”
Steve shrugs, turning his focus his back to the draws. He doesn't understand what Laurie would do with it but he didn't want it so whatever.
“Let's see...” It sounds like Laurie is talking to himself so Steve leaves him to it until he Laurie says; “I thought so.”
Steve looks over and has to do a double take as it appears Laurie did a quick change and is now wearing Steve's old stretched out t-shirt. Steve finds himself...admiring...how it is sitting on Laurie's more slender frame.
Laurie snuggles into the old garment; “Yeah, it's as comfy as I thought. It even smells like you a little...defiantly keeping this for my pajama drawer.”
He pulls it off but stops and looks to Steve before putting his original shirt back on. “If that's okay with you.”
It takes a moment for Steve to do more than just stare; with a nod and a great heaping dose of will power he turns his attentions back to the drawers he's going through and forces a shrug. “Uh yeah...yeah. Help yourself to what ever you want.”

Keys to my Heart
PAIRING/FANDOM: Nicholas "Nick" Nelson/Charles "Charlie" Spring GENRE: fluff WORD COUNT: 2,112 WARNINGS: none SUMMARY: "Maybe you can move in with Charlie? You basically live there anyways, and for some reason pay your share of the rent here. Not that we are complaining.” Christian joked. “I don’t live with Charlie. We haven’t been together long enough to live together.” Nick said. “I don’t think that is true.” Sai interjected. or Nick's flatmates decided that they were not going to renew their rent for the next year, so Nick asked Charlie for help finding a flat. Charlie was under the impression that Nick was already slowly moving in with him. ADDITIONAL TAGS: Established Nicholas "Nick" Nelson/Charles "Charlie" Spring, Alternate Universe - College/University, sappy boys, no beta / editor [READ ON AO3]
It’s been four years since Charlie sat next to Nick in their form room back in secondary. It’s been three years and eleven months since Nick and Charlie have been best friends.
It’s been 2 years 6 months 13 days 20 hours and 58 minutes since their friend group decided to skip the last party fresher’s week; the plan to have a film night like when they were in secondary school. Since Nick and Charlie both got a little too drunk and said yes to a game of truth or dare. Since someone dared Charlie to kiss Nick, and Nick was pretty certain Charlie was going to kiss his cheek. Since Nick decided he didn’t want Charlie to kiss his cheek and moved at the last moment for their lips to meet. Since Nick and Charlie kissed for the first time for an unknown amount of time, only breaking apart when Darcy yelled “Get it son!”. Since they fell asleep together that night and decided to be boyfriends the following morning.
Not that Nick has been counting or anything.
Present day Nick is aware he is undeniably down bad for his best friend and boyfriend. He is also aware that he still can’t keep his hands off his boyfriend, so he understands that Charlie wanted a distraction free evening to get a project done for a class. Nick thought about just going to the library for a few hours but he was feeling a little bad that he has only seen his flat mates during rugby practice or matches for the last few months; so, he decides to go to his flat for the night.
“I’m back.” Nick yelled into the flat he shared with a couple of his mates from the rugby team. The three guys that didn’t “banter” at him because he is bisexual, but because of how much of a sap he is about his boyfriend, Charlie.
“Hey, what happened?” Christian asked, from his spot on the sofa next to Sai.
Nick drops his backpack with some clothes in it for tomorrow at the bottom of the stairs. “Nothing’s happened, Charlie just has a project due in a couple of days, and he wants to get it done. He said that if I’m around he gets "too distracted".” Nick answered, making air quotes for emphasis.
Christian and Sai laughed at Nick’s use of quotation marks.
“Well, one of you has to be the sensible one I guess.” Sai said, once he settled down.
“I know.” Nick pouted, plopping down on the recliner next to the sofa.
“Well, it’s good to see you, we’re glad you’re here, even if it is just for one night.” Sai smiled softly.
“I’m not gone that much, and I see you at rugby 4 times a week.”
“But you’re not here, at home. Which is okay, and something we wanted to talk to you about.” Christian replied.
“Graduation is coming up in a couple months, and we talked to Otis about some things, and neither one of us are planning on staying here in Leeds afterwards.” Sai stated.
“Oh.” Nick sighed.
“We know you are going to stay here for your PGCE, but maybe you can move in with Charlie? You basically live there anyways, and for some reason pay your share of the rent here. Not that we are complaining.” Christian joked.
“I don’t live with Charlie. We haven’t been together long enough to live together.” Nick said.
“I don’t think that is true.” Sai interjected, “People move in with their partners at all different times, some don’t even live with their partners if they are married. There’s no rule book on that.”
“Also, you and Charlie have been best mates since secondary school, people can live with their friends.”  Christian added. “But we’re not saying you have to move in with Charlie. There are some guys on the team getting a flat share next year that I’m sure they wouldn’t mind for you to join in on the rent pool.”
“Yeah. I’ll look around too, since I don’t have to be so close to campus next year, I’ll see what options I have.” Nick replied.
After having some take away pizza with the guys, Nick goes to his room to start looking at some flat options.
Upon stepping into his room throwing his overnight bag on his bed, he remembers that his good pillow is still at Charlie’s flat. That’s fine, I’ll be over again tomorrow.
Nick pulls out his laptop and looks on Rightmove and starts looking at flats closest to Charlie’s flat and flats that are just close to the University; both with the idea of making it easier for Charlie if he was to come over. Finding a potential flat easily.
1 Bed | 1 Bath | Recently Upgraded | Nearby University of Leeds
Nick looked at the map and could confirm it was indeed very close to the University, but on the other side than Charlie’s flat, and the price was on the higher end of his price range. Nick decided to look through the photos on the posing anyways seeing that the bedroom barley fit a double bed in it. Maybe. Nick thought as he scrolled on to the next listing.
1 Bed | 1.5 Bath | Paved Front Garden
Nick looked at another listing that was fairly close to Charlie’s flat, but further away to the University. It was much more affordable but the photos showed a very small kitchen. To Nick, the kitchen is the only thing that has to be perfect, everything else doesn’t really matter that much. However, not having a place to live trumps a small kitchen so the flat also gets a maybe.
He decides he may not find anything better until closer to the summer when people are moving out, so he closes his laptop and texts Charlie a “good luck on your project <3” text, and watches YouTube on his phone until he falls asleep.
~●~
“Charlie, can you help me find a new place to live?” Nick asked, laying down with his head on Charlie’s lap. Charlie lounging on his bed, one hand playing with Nick’s hair, the other holding the book he was reading.
“What?” Charlie questioned, shoving an old receipt he’d been using as a bookmark in the book and putting it on the nightstand.
“Well, the guys said that they aren’t going to stay in Leeds for another year after graduation, so I’ll need to find a new place to live.” Nick responded. “I found a couple of different options that might work, but I want your opinion as well.”
“If it’s where you want to live, then it should be your choice.” Charlie replied.
“But I don’t want you to hate it and you never come over.” Nick started, “Like one is expensive and the bedroom is barely big enough for a bed. Another is close by so you can come over whenever you want, but the kitchen is so small, you couldn't even bake brownies from a box in there and have room.”
“Sweetheart, get up for a moment.” Charlie bent his knees slightly to prompt Nick to move, both guys shifting so they were sitting and facing each other.
“Or I was also thinking that I can go down to the leasing office here and see if there are any vacancies available, so then we can live in the same building.”
“Nick-”
“Or if you don’t want that then that’s okay! The small flat is cute, and if you don’t want to come over, that’s fine! I can still come here.” Nick interrupted, already going into a spiral.
“Wait.”
“Or not, it’s okay. I can look on my own, you don’t have t-”
“Hey.” Charlie interrupted, putting his hands on either side of Nick’s face. “What’s up?”
“I don’t know.” Nick sighed, “I guess I’m a little stressed out about finding a place that works for you.”
“Works for me?” Charlie asked, furrowing an eyebrow.
“Yeah, close enough to campus so if you want to stay the night, you’re not late to classes or study groups. Or close by so you can be with your friends. But not like I’m saying you have to spend the night with me-”
“Darling.” Charlie gently interrupted Nick’s spiral again, “You have another place to live that isn’t with the rugby guys.”
“Char, I don’t want to go back to live with my mom, I want to stay here with you.” Nick pleaded.
“Nick, I’m not talking about living with your mom.” Charlie smiled, moving his hands over Nick’s hands. “Why don’t you live here? With me?”
“But what about Tao?” Nick asked.
“Tao already told me he’s been thinking about moving into a flat with Elle.”
“You don’t think it’s too soon? Won’t your mom be really upset with you?” Nick whispered.
“My mom’s been upset with me half my life Nick, you moving in with me is not going to change her feelings of me.” Charlie half-joked. “Plus, we’ve been best friends for four years, and by next school year it’ll be 2 years since we started dating...”
“But-”
“It’s not like you don’t already practically live here…”
“I don’t live here.”
“You might as well just be paying rent to the wrong bill, love.”
“That’s what the guys said. I do stay here with you a lot, but I don’t think I live here. Plus isn’t your room kind of small for two people? It definitely felt bigger when you moved in.”
“All of your stuff is here Nick; half this room is your stuff. This room has slowly become our room. Even this quilt is yours.” Charlie said, picking up the corner of the quilt closest to him for emphasis.
“Your quilt was too heavy; I was overheating every night.”
“Yes, Nick, that's what I was saying. Every night.” Charlie jokingly poked. “I’m not complaining though, I love my personal human radiator.”
“I knew you just loved me for my body.” Nick fake pouted.
“Yes, duh. Amongst other things.” Charlie chuckled. “But that’s why you have your cooling pillow on your side of the bed. Where the night stand has your reading glasses, and your half empty glass of water. Half my dresser is full of your clothes, half the closet is your clothes.”
“Is that what you’re calling the row of my stolen hoodies.” Nick poked Charlie’s side lightly.
“You needed clothes for when you stayed here, also they’re our hoodies Nicholas. We have joint custody.” Charlie joked, grabbing Nick's finger and not letting go.
“Okay so maybe I live in your room.” Nick acquiesced.
“You have all your soaps in the shower, and half the bathroom sink counter is covered with your stuff. Hell, you even have a cabinet in the kitchen full of your baking stuff.” Charlie started, “And it’s okay, I like it. I want you to feel at home here.”
“You are my home.”
“There’s you being sappy again.”
“You were sappy first!”
“Shut up, I am never sappy.”
“You are, and I think it’s because you love me.” Nick joked, pushing Charlie onto his back with Nick hovering over him.
“No, I don’t.” Charlie shook his head.
“You don’t mean that.” Nick mock gasped, tickling Charlie.
“Nick!” Charlie gasped between laughs. “Stop!”
“Are you going to take it back?” Nick asked, stopping just long enough to get an answer out of Charlie. Charlie used that moment to flip them back over, grabbing Nick’s wrists and pinning them above his head, to keep Nick from tickling him again.
“I do. I was going to say it’s because I really love you, but I’m not sure any more.” Charlie pouted.
“Well, I really love you so I hope you really love me.” Nick smiled.
“You are. Such. A. Sap. Nicholas. Nelson.” Charlie said, punctuating with a poke to Nick’s side.
“I’m your sap, Charles Spring.” Nick said, slightly dazed with the feeling of Charlie’s weight on him.
“Ugh.” Charlie rolled his eyes, before leaning down and kissing Nick.
He kept his hand pinning down Nick’s wrists in place and kissed Nick until he heard a small noise in Nick’s throat.
Charlie pulled back from the kiss gently, laughing softly when he heard Nick groan “Why’d you stop?”
“Nick, if you want to, I would love for you to officially live with me.” Charlie prompted.
“Uhm- YES. Char, obviously. As long as you want to.”
“I just said I want you to!” Charlie laughed, shifting downwards to continue kissing Nick.

It’s only 2 months and 5 days until Nick gets to officially live together with his boyfriend, not that Nick is counting or anything.
