Completely rehabbed 1890 home in Saint Louis, Missouri. 3bds, 4ba, $525K.

A wall was opened to give it a modern open concept and they gave it a new fireplace with an exposed brick feature wall.

The kitchen's lovely and the island is huge. Like gray cabinets.

At the end of the kitchen is a spacious dining area.

There's a back door and behind the 3/4 wall is a very nice mud room and powder room.

Very nice. Looks like a custom made counter.

In this bedroom is an en-suite, built-in closet and a stripper pole that conveys.

The shower room is very well done.

The pretty windows on the exterior look beautiful inside.

Bedroom #2 is an office with standard 3 piece bath. Like the gray subway tile.

There's also a 3rd level.

The finished attic has a beautiful family room.

It's even got a small wet bar.

The bath up here has a vintage tub.

Plus a nice big shower.

The primary bedroom is up here. It's quite large and has access to the rec room, so it's like a suite.

The yard is big enough to have a pretty garden.

Plus, there's a new garage.

The home is on a 4,721 sq. ft lot.

In my quest for adding more whimsical details to the house I managed to find these vintage overstock pushplates on Etsy!

They’re cast iron and I love that they show their age. The patina delights me.

They’re gonna look so gooooood!

I'm begging home renovators. If you're in a position where you have to remove outdoor steps anyway - why not just update them with a ramp?

Disabled people. Young children. The elderly. Those are a few good examples of why you should choose to update with a ramp. Not to mention it's easier to move stuff in & out.

& as someone who used to volunteer with the historical society & help renovate/repair old homes & buildings. You can update with ramps that fit the aesthetic/time period of the property.

If you're doing a new build. Please consider ramps inside instead of stairs too. For the same reasons!

Plus, they're super cool looking!

Reasonably priced 1900 home in Louisville, Kentucky has 3bds, 2ba, $315K. What do you think of the reno- too modern, or just right? Cute little fence around the front yard.

Original front door painted gray and given new modern house numbers that are easily visible.

The color scheme of the house is white with black trim. In the entrance hall they left the exposed brick and sealed it. Should it be shiny or should they have done it in a flat finish for more authenticity?

I like the little lamp over the door by the stairs.

They left the phone cubby.

Very modern light fixture adaptation. Looks like the fireplace was given a new modern surround and painted black. Lots of exposed brick.

This is nice, the fireplace is a little more original. Modern chandelier.

New white cabinets and modern light in the pantry.

Completely remodeled modern white kitchen.

Interesting- they carpeted the floor in here and left the brick natural. The carpet though, in a room w/a door to the outside.

2nd floor. The spindles looks original, but it they're not, it was a good choice.

Primary bedroom has an original fireplace.

They made a nice closet.

The bath is totally modern. Well, that's cheap- they gave you one bulb.

Shower with penny tile floor and white subway tile with dark grout. I get the shelves, but I wonder what that box is on top.

Separate toilet.

Nice secondary bedroom. The simpler ceiling light looks good.

Modern bath with the currently popular design in floor tiles.

Double size shower.

Laundry room hookup.

Fenced-in yard is a nice size. 5,227 sq. ft. lot
