There are two deaths that I wish the showrunners had written out of the show. Mainly because they were either totally pointless or they hurt me to my soul, the only reason Im making this is because they killed characters that never died in the books, they could PLEASE STOP KILLING MY FAVES.
Renfri and Tissaia. Renfri made me angry, Everything that ever happened to her could have been avoided, her death was meaningless and only happened to give trauma to geralt, who knew her maybe a day and then acted like he was the most affected by it. I wish she had survived, or at least had a more impactful role in the story
Tissaias made me uncontrollably sob. That death scene hit me so close to home that it scares me, The woman who until this point has been a boulder in the way of everything falling apart watching her friends and family be killed around her, and loosing herself completely when there was nothing she could do.
I miss her so much.

Me? Posting Renfri content in 2023? It's more likely than you think. Anyway, this fic is about mourning nothing from your shitty childhood except the person you lost to it. And then getting that person back.
Rating: T Word Count: ~8k Pairing(s): Yennefer/Renfri Summary:  Yennefer says, "Someone had to leave, Ren." Renfri's throat burns. She watches the water and says, "Yeah, well. Someone had to fucking stay."
Or: After surviving a dark childhood together, Yennefer and Renfri meet for the first time in six years.

I’m gonna stick with my Witcher theme in naming my characters.
My Lavellan was Cirilla “Ciri” Lavellan.
But I swear to god, “Renfri” sounds perfect for a Lord of Fortune Rook.
That, or Essi.
Obviously, my Rook wouldn’t be like Renfri but I’ve always loved that name
No.
FALKA!!!!!

Yenfri ficlet for @stinastar <3 <3 <3 <3
Yen comforts Renfri through a rough patch.
The holidays are hard, especially for two women with such monumentally shitty families. So here is a modern au about Renfri being depressed and trying to hide it, and Yen revealing that she understands more than Renfri thinks.
Obviously CW depression and references to Yen’s self harm.
--------
There was an obnoxiously loud rap at the door. Renfri groaned and pulled the covers over her head.
It was 6pm and she was supposed to meet Yen, the stunning woman she had somehow tricked into dating her. They’d only been going out for a few weeks so the last fucking thing she’d wanted her to see was this goddamn mess. She had texted her, damnit. She had cancelled.
The knock pounded again.
“Coming!”
Renfri dragged herself up and threw on a robe. She ran a hand through her hair and tromped to the door, peeking through the eye hole.
Sure enough. A stunning raven haired woman stood on her doorstep. She was bundled up in a black peacoat and black knee high leather boots, but she hadn’t completely surrendered to winter. She wore purple fishnet stockings that were doing nothing to keep out the cold.
“Fuck.” Renfri whispered against the door, extremely conscious of her threadbare tank top and worn yoga leggings that had never seen the inside of a yoga class in the entirety of their very long lives.
Her car was out front. She had to open the door.
She opened it slowly, as if that would help.
“Hi.” Yennefer’s breath was visible in the cold. Her violet eyes seem to shine with their own light. The tip of her nose was pink. It was adorable.
“Hi.” Renfri leaned against the doorway, trying to look casual and rakish.“Yen. Sorry. I texted you. I cancelled.”
Renfri felt guilty to be standing in her warm house and Yen standing out in the cold, but the idea was to get her to leave before the spell was broken.
In their few dates, Renfri had been funny, sarcastic, entertaining, and beautiful. It had gotten her more dates. She was pretty sure that if Yen saw her like this, it would break the spell.
“You did. But it sounded odd. And the last time we went out, you said a few things that made me think. I just. Are you ok?"
Renfri scoffed. "I'm great. I'm always great. Great."
"You said Great three times."
Renfri cursed herself inwardly. She looked behind her at the mess and back at the immaculate Yennefer.
"Coz I'm great."
Yennefer sighed. "I'll leave if you want. Just tell me to leave. Or let me in, because it's freezing. One or the other."
Renfri could not bring herself to tell her to leave. Deep down inside, in a place she had long ago buried, or so she thought, all she wanted was for someone to hold her when she was like this. For someone to see all of her and still want to hold her.
She was weak. Pitiful. It was fucking stupid.
That was what the voice inside her said. But her body knew something that the voice didn't, because it stepped aside and beckoned for Yen to come in.
She shut the door behind Yen, and stood there, feeling naked, as Yen took off her coat and surveyed her place. Renfri hadn't washed the dishes in a week. Her dirty laundry hung over the back of the sofa.
"Sorry," she mumbled. "It's a mess."
"Why don't you sit. I"ll make some tea," Yen said.
"You don't know where I keep everything."
Yen raised an eyebrow. "Tea in the cupboard, cream in the refrigerator, pot on the stove?"
Renfri nodded. "Yup. You got it."
She plopped down on the sofa while Yen bustled around in the kitchen.
In a matter of moments, Yen stood in front of her with two cups of tea. Under her peacoat, she was dressed in a sweater dress that looked so huggable, Renfri desperately wanted to reach for her and pull her onto the couch. She didn't know if they were quite there in their relationship, plus, she didn't quite want to reveal how badly she needed that embrace.
Yen put down the tea, and sat next to her. She turned to look at Renfri, and took her hand. It was still a little cold from being outside, and Renfri clutched it under the guise of warming it.
"It's ok if you aren't ok."
It was only six words. But the kindness of them was lethal. Renfri blinked back tears. "Am I that obviously pathetic?"
Yen sighed and explained patiently. "You aren't pathetic. You just said a few things about your family. You said it like it was a joke. But I know it isn't a joke. It doesn't actually feel funny to be treated that way. And this time of year, it's hard for people like us."
"Like us?"
"Those who have been made to feel unwanted by the ones who are supposed to love us."
Renfri swallowed hard. "You too? But you're so beautiful. Everyone admires you. And you seem like you have it all together."
Yen smiled an enigmatic smile. "I seem that way because that is what I want you to think. Pride is a funny thing. It can save us, but there is a time a place for it, don't you think? Maybe we should just be honest about who we are. Then we can make proper, real decisions about what we think about one another."
"I like that idea," admitted Renfri. "But you go first."
"That's very convenient."
"Hey, this was your idea, beautiful."
Yennefer nodded. "Alright. Well, my secret is that I know exactly what all of this feels like." She slowly pulled up one of her sleeves. Adorning the skin on her wrists were four slash marks.
Renfri tentatively reached for her hand. Yen watched her movements carefully and let her lift her wrists to her lips.
Renfri held her gaze and kissed each mark. Something glistened in Yen's eyes.
"Now you know. Do you think I"m pathetic? Or weak?"
"No!" Renfri almost shouted it. "You're spectacular."
Yen shrugged. "So are you. We are both spectacular."
Renfri finally allowed herself to do what she yearned to do. She practically dove into Yen's lap. Yen wrapped her arms around her and squeezed her tight. They held each other like that for a long moment. Renfri would have expected it to feel awkward, but it didn't.
But finally Yen pulled back. She took her by the chin and kissed her sweetly, almost bringing tears to Renfri's eyes yet again.
"Sometimes, when I feel like that," Yen said, "it helps to have a little comfort to ride it out. Why don't you just lay your head in my lap and I read to you."
"You're a goddess," Renfri blurted out.
Yen laughed. "Glad you like the idea."
Renfri chose a murder mystery, where a woman got bloody revenge on a man who had done her wrong.
She plopped down in Yen's lap and she read to her. While the wind howled outside, the warm, comforting sound of Yen 's voice and the soothing feeling of her fingers, stroking her hair, carried her into a restful sleep.
And when she woke up, Yen was still there. In fact, she wasn't going anywhere. It turned out that they had far more in common than they realized when they were busy showing off for one another. And though a book and a nap and little understanding couldn't solve Renfri's problems, the presence of such things in her life made it gentler, kinder, and easier to bear.

❛  do  you  really  think  i'm  going  to  let  you  do  this  alone?  ❜ (for Renfri!)
"Usually people do," Renfri says with a shrug. She's used to it, being on her own. She doesn't love it, but she's lucky to be alive at all. So she'll take whatever she can get.

"What are you going to do, anyway?" She asks.
