Most of the rules are around how the MANN must pursue the WOMAN who should play COY and not LOOK LIKE SHE WANTS IT TOO MUCH. Interesting to see Gen X be interested in this style of courtship, while Millennials try to reject it but can't fully escape these norms, and Gen Z is too TikTok brained/anxious/incel to even date.

“Please put that back.”

The Husk was grabbing every junk food item he could from the shelves. He had plopped himself into the cart, forcing Rene to push both him and all of the groceries. He wasn’t a very heavy guy by any means, and Rene was a very strong person, but she still scoffed at the audacity. Nevertheless, she continued onward, searching for a certain brand of spaghetti sauce. 

“If you love me you’ll buy me these s'more pop tarts!” 

Rene sighed, reluctantly putting the pop tarts in the cart. “You’re lucky you’re cute.” Rene pinched the bridge of her nose. “Otherwise you would be dead in a ditch by now.”

“Tee hee!”

Rene and The Husk continued on their journey to find the ingredients needed for dinner. Rene was obviously the more responsible person in the relationship, diligently checking the list of groceries they had to get. The Husk was complaining about how bored he was. These two were a very unlikely pair, but somehow, it worked. They fit comfortably together, like puzzle pieces. Rene was there to keep The Husk stable, and The Husk was there to keep Rene happy. They were each other's life line, the hot to the other’s cold, the yin to the other's yang, and together they made each other complete. Rene looked down at The Husk with adoration. She never knew that she could love a person so much. Without him she would feel lost, back in that state of darkness and depression. She wouldn’t just be lonely, she would be desolate. 

The Husk turned his attention to Rene, about to ask for another snack. He then noticed her staring at him. He quickly turned away, trying to hide his blush. Rene always knew how to make him flustered, and most times not even on purpose. The Husk never knew that someone could have such an effect on him. Never in his life has someone ever made him feel the way that she does. He knows that he isn’t the most fantastic person to be around, and yet Rene still stuck around. She taught him how to love, and how to be loved. 

The Husk absentmindedly grabbed a bag of chips and opened them, eating them in the store.”Dude! We haven’t paid yet!” The husk scoffed. “What are they gonna do, make me uneat them?”

“I will personally make you uneat them if you don't cut that shit out right now little man.”

The husk slowly put the chips away, not wanting to anger Rene further. He sighed, sinking further into the cart. Rene felt a twinge of guilt. “Hey, how about we get some popcorn chicken to tide you over?” The Husk perked up, nodding vigorously. The pair strolled their way over to the deli, The Husk looking much happier now. Rene bought the chicken, and The Husk happily chowed down, and the rest of the grocery run went by pretty smoothly.
