"It's fine," Jaromir shouted, hewing away at the rubble. Lorck had been quiet on the way down there, not even one moping word. "I'll take this. You're probably spent already, with those boulders you took care of earlier. Remi said he'd never done labour like this."

"Beaudard had a pickaxe appear in his hands all right," Lorck said, flopping down on the ground.

"Oh, really? Good." Briefly frowning, Jaromir continued hacking and slashing, getting into a rhythm. "You really don't want to call the Captain by his given name, do you."

Lorck swooshed some sand away. "It's a girl's name. It's pathetic," he said after a long while.

In a wave of grit, the pile collapsed. When the dust cleared away Lorck came forward to pick up one of the big rocks, trying to fold it in his sweater, assessing the weight. "Here we go again."

He pushed away Jaromir's help, but at length at the cliff path he gave in. The men carried the rock in between them, climbing up, slowly while the sun was setting, taking a very long time before through the trees, camp became visible again.

But at the beach, everyone awaited them and waved. It made their last stretch easier. And Jaromir smiled, as he saw a grin appear on Lorck's face.

Just going to show you a recap of my first No Straight Roads AU from my old account. It is called The Creatures of Vinyl City. It is an au where everything is the same, but the scenery changes to a Cryptidcore aesthetic and shout out to @sundove88 for helping out with this one, soooo enjoy!

The D20 fanfic discord server invite is available here

So I didn't update this for like ten months and it fell something like forty fics behind. Let's ignore that and redo it, huh? I'm going to try to limit how much I say about these (other than the long works) because there's a ton of them, and I'm grouping them roughly into categories.

Also, I'm putting it behind a read more because it's a long list.

Long Works:

These are multi-chapter stories, aiming for a longer narrative that is not necessarily fully satisfying on a chapter to chapter read.

Lunacy is probably the work most people know me for; this is a novel-length AU working off of Adaine failing her con save at the Black Pit and becoming a werewolf. It hews a lot closer to canon than most anything else here, with the divergences by and large being as logical as I can manage them. This one's going to be fully complete Before Junior Year, because otherwise half the assumptions I made (particularly about character ages, which get whiplashed wildly around from season to season anyway) will get blown up. It's basically as long as everything else on this list combined. Adaine centric, though Aelwyn is most definitely the second most important character and takes over protagonist duties at points where Adaine is indisposed.

Missing is a much more off the cuff piece, starting a little over two years pre-canon with Aelwyn, being a little braver, deciding to run away from her shitty parents and taking Adaine with her. She still has lousy judgement, so they get into a whole bunch of adventures and both of them end up in interesting multi-classes. Aelwyn's the main character in this one, with about one in four chapters being from Adaine's PoV instead and then some chapters being one-off interludes from others' PoVs.

Reversal of Fortune is a role swap AU, where Penny Luckstone is investigating the disappearance of her friend and babysit-ee Riz Gukgak and a series of other freshmen-to-be at the Aguefort Adventuring Academy. Most chapters are Penny's PoV; the interludes feature other characters, generally characters about to have a really bad day.

Short Fic Series

These are series of related oneshots, often a sequence of stories set within the same canon-divergent AU. Links are to the first story in each series.

Poison follows a sequence of events from Penelope Everpetal's PoV at first and then Aelwyn's in which Penelope blackmails Aelwyn into a relationship and also kidnaps Adaine. Malignancy, the last of my stories in this AU, features a choice between two endings; stories in the less bad version of that ending have been written by Tangerine Blast and are incredible in their own right.

Pact follows an AU in which Fig is raised in hell by Gorthalax the Insatiable, and one Adaine Abernant accidentally summons her and sells her her soul at the age of eight. The series as a whole runs over the course of decades, with the characters being eight at the start and the last work in it set after Fig and Ayda are married. This one's largely comedic except for a lot of Aelwyn's bits which are quite sincere, and if you've read something of mine other than Lunacy already there's a really good chance it's this.

Care is the first of MY works in an AU of Tangerine's, following a Rogue Adaine. Tangerine wrote the AU originally off a prompt I gave of Riz going along with Biz's request to kidnap Adaine for some reason; in this case, the reason was to trick Biz into revealing enough to find everyone else. I have three pieces in this one, and Tangerine has another four; full links and suggested reading order are in the fic. (I am particularly fond of Camp, the Calethriel Tower fic in this AU, which I poured a lot of my soul into.)

Dominate is almost certainly my angstiest AU, in which Fabian gets mind controlled by Aelwyn who gives an order that he interprets in a way she wouldn't have entirely anticipated. Major temporary character death warning, here.

Foster is a two-shot of an AU in which Adaine and Aelwyn grew up in a series of foster homes after their parents got pursued for fiscal crimes and Solace wasn't quite willing to send children there to be punished for their parents' crimes. It's based on the premise that Aelwyn would be a very protective sister in most circumstances, even bad ones, so long as she wasn't being specifically turned against that.

What's In a Name? is a series of three fics focused on the premise that after Sophomore Year, Arianwen worked a bit of elven magic that wiped out her wayward children's names and much of their identities. Tangerine did a version of this based on a horror prompt I wrote of the idea that become Only Oracle; this version is much more fluffy.

Chill is an AU in which Angwyn is not biologically either Adaine or Aelwyn's father, which he knew and did not mind but which becomes too obvious for him to allow when it turns out that Aelwyn's father was a silver dragon in disguise and she starts showing draconic traits. He passes her off to a local family in a 'culteral exchange' and thus Aelwyn is adopted by Gilear.

As a fun treat, Adaine's father in this is Telemaine, making her Fabian's aunt.

Fantasy High Canon Compatible-ish One-shots

These are all either post-Sophomore year or are 'missing scenes' from within or pre-canon. Many of these are strictly comedic.

Waiting features the Bad Kids, plus Ayda and Aelwyn, getting a summer job at a waffle house equivalent the summer after FHSY. Combat skills ARE required.

Minutes from the July Mordred Manor Wizards' Council Meeting is a one-shot presented as minutes from a meeting of that esteemed council of wizards in Mordred Manor the summer after FHSY.

Childhood's End is a somewhat more serious piece, a missing scene of sorts of the first time Aelwyn snuck out of home and disobeyed her parents.

Cuddles is a post-FHSY piece focused on Ragh supporting Aelwyn after she and Fabian break up.

Bunk is technically a missing scene from the finale of Jawbone talking to this new elf wizard in his house who he watched on livestream watch her sister die.

Five Times Assassination Attempts were made on the Traitor Elven Oracle without a Death, and One Time With. is exactly what its title suggests, taking place during a Junior Year to come.

Locate Creatures is a cute little Riz-And-Penny summer investigation fic, featuring them looking for lost pets.

Past Performance does not Guarantee Future Results is an Arianwen-PoV fic from when she was pregnant with Adaine. She's a great person in it, really.

Coup takes place after Ayda sees Fig's grades for the year and decides it is a clear sign that her father is too senile to be in charge of her paramour's education.

Fantasy High AU Oneshots

Dreams is set in a world where Kalina and her master are much more morally grey, and follows a Riz being taught to be a cleric of the "Sleeping God".

Twelve Hours takes place during the Sisterly Showdown, except Adaine makes the choice to attack Aguefort's pocketwatch, trapping the Bad Kids + Aelwyn in a pocket of frozen time...

The Princess in a Tower is a class swap AU in which Adaine is a bard; she is captured and brought to Calethriel Tower not because she's the Oracle but rather because she's persuasively been telling the world how much her parents and Fallinel suck. Somewhat fairy tale inspired, the meat of this story is Adaine trying to bring her sister to some sort of sense which she waits to either lose her own mind or be rescued.

The Ghost of Me features a Fallinel that's a lot quicker to put Adaine on trial and have her executed, and the Bad Kids being just a bit slower to get to her... But she keeps her promises. Probably my own favorite one-shot of mine.

Dig Out takes place about a year after a tragic death among the bad kids, and features an accidental undead...

Flames of Passion is my infamous Gilear/Kalvaxus fic. I'm sure they're very happy together.

Thorns is a Never After fusion, featuring Adaine waking up the first day of High School with thorns and brambles growing under her skin...

Watcher features an Adaine who was lost in the Ethereal Plane as a child, and has grown up as a Paladin of the Oath of Watchers. I'll be following this one up sometime but it weirdly isn't very well liked from what I can tell.

Blueberry Pie is an Aelwyn PoV inspired by a tumblr prompt about an older sibling not particularly liking their younger sibling but going through hell to protect them anyway. It features both of them venturing forth unto the Faewild...

Blood is my infamous "accidental parody of a sold to one direction" fic, in which Adaine ends up a vampire.

Grape Escape is technically a two chapter fic but I'm counting it as a oneshot, in which Aelwyn got CAUGHT sneaking out and sent to Kei Lumenara, and then most of a year later when Adaine flunks the entrance exam she is sent to follow only to find that her sister has lost her mind in this place.

The Phoenix or the Egg features Ayda accidentally travelling back through time, and meeting a very interesting young wizard who could use some guidance...

Non-Fantasy High Dimension 20 Works

For now, all of these are oneshots.

Unending Summer features Iga's kids a few years after TUC2, with Nick about to start college soon.

Gallivant's End is a post-canon fic focused on Riva's choice in the finale and just what it is that they might be thinking about.

Sisters is similarly a post-canon fic, focused on Ruby handling certain intelligence work on behalf of her half sister, whether her half sister knows it or not.

Duty is a RueHob as a tragedy piece, set thirty years after the Bloom. Andhera, BINX, and Chirp all make important appearances, and are all rather happier than our PoV Hob...

Futures is a pre-canon Ruby and Jet piece I did for @wrenrix that definitely isn't at all a tragedy in disguise.

True Love is my post-canon aro Rosamund manifesto, done as a one-hour writing challenge.

Last, but certainly not least, Salsa Sacerdote was my piece for A Catalogue of Candy zine focused on a priest of the Bulb in a remote border village, with definite Wicker Man vibes.

Thank you! And that depends. Are we talking about fursonas that FIT the characters, or fursonas that they would choose themselves? Because that could be very different depending on the characters. I'll try to give both but some characters I only have one idea for, or just a vague idea for one over the other.

I'm mainly just sticking to real animals. Not so much doing hybrids or mythical animals because I do not have any ideas for those. Because I think a lot of this cast would be some kind of dragon or something haha.

Also put below a read more since you basically want EVERYONE lol

Mayday: I can see her being either a canine or feline, something full of energy or life for what would represent her. But for one she would choose, I would say she'd be a Malayan Civet.

Zuke: For animals that represent him, probably something like a bull or a Malaysian Horned frog. But if he was going to choose a fursona he'd be an alligator, and he's make a point to let you know it's an alligator and not a crocodile.

DJSS: I feel like a sea turtle would best represent him, but if they were to choose one for themself I think he would choose a Goliath Heron as his animal.

Sayu: Sayu kinda already has two animals that represent mer (not counting the mermaid part) which would be a bunny and a cat. Bunny because ze was drawn as a bunny in mer concept art, and a cat because some of the people who work at Metronomik said Sayu's shadow puppet animal would have been a cat. I also think Sayu would choose a bunny as mer fursona. A very colorful and fluffy bunny.

For the rest of the Club I already had animals picked out for when I did a swap of them with 1010, so those I feel best represent them and what they would choose.

Aoi: He would be a wolf.

Haru: Sea is a fox.

Yua: She would be a dragonfly.

Renho: And Renho is a butterfly.

Remi: I can see Remi being represented by a red panda. He would choose a crab though. Or maybe it would be the other way around. Either way, red panda or crab is Remi.

Tila: She would definitely be picking an otter as her go to animal fursona. Though I can see her being represented by a Nightingale.

Dodo: He seems best represented by a Red-Crowned Crane, but would most likely choose a squid of some sort.

Sofa: I can see them being represented by a monkey of some sort, like a macaque monkey. But they would definitely choose a blobfish, but they would make it accurate to how a blobfish looks like under pressure, not the meme blobfish you see on the internet.

Yinu: She would be represented by a Cloudless sulphur butterfly or a honeybee. However, I see her choosing an axolotl as a fursona and she would make the "ears"/fins look like plants or flower petals.

Mama: I can see her being represented by a Red Adder snake. She seems like she would choose to be a Monarch Butterfly though.

Papa: He'd probably be represented by a Luna Moth. He would have chose a ladybug as a fursona if he was asked to choose when he was alive.

Neon J: Hmmm, maybe he would be represented by a Korean Crevice Salamander, but he would definitely chose a bat as his fursona. Actually maybe the other way around. Either one of these I feel fit Neon, though I think the bat represents him more, while he would actually choose a Korean Crevice Salamander. Yeah, that way works better.

Rin: I can see it choose a mountain goat as its fursona. I'm not sure on what would represent Rin though, I feel like a hairless cat would represent it really well lol.

Purl-hew: Purl is definitely represented by a chameleon as they try to mimic/mirror the people they are around as a form of masking. However, if asked Purl would funnily enough be a Blue Sea Dragon even though Purl hates the ocean so much. That animal is one of Purl's favorites (also what Purl was when swapped with the Mermaid Club).

Zimelu: I think she is best represented by a red betta fish. I can also see her choosing that as a fursona.

Haym: I had said that Haym would be a cat, but I honestly think I changed my mind on that. I think a Jindo dog would best represent Haym, but I can see him choosing something crazy, maybe even doing a hybrid. Hmmm... may he'd pick a kind of cat/reptile hybrid. Like mixing a banana snake (mainly tail and eyes, but some scales) with a Siberian musk deer (fangs and ears) and a leopard (mainly markings).

Eloni: I can see him being represented by the Alpine black swallowtail. But definitely some kind of bug she is choosing for herself, something more dangerous and cool looking. He'd either be a Triangle Crab Spider or a Wasp Spider just with the yellow coloring changes a bit more to green (Eloni loves spiders).

Dew: I don't think Dew would want a fursona at all, like he would definitely keep dodging the question. Though at some point he'd say something like a fur seal or a goral or something just so you leave him alone. I think an armadillo or a pangolin would be best to represent Dew though.

Maragold: They would choose a butterfly with rainbow crystal wings, or a butterfly with multiple sets of wings as a fursona. As long as the wings look pretty, and maybe like flower stained glass, they will be happy. Represented-wise, I don't know why but I can see them being represented by a Dodo bird (which I am now wondering why I didn't make that Dodo's represented animal lol).

Carna: Fae is definitely a racoon for represented animals. I can see faer choosing something really messed up like the fungus that turns ants into zombies. So fae would be an ant, but also looking very gross and dead, maybe even make some pastel gore on faer fursona suit if fae made one.

Eve: Similar thing with Sayu, people at Metronomik said Eve's shadow animals would be a peacock, platypus, or octopus (not canon) so those are the ones that represent her. And honestly, I can see her picking a peacock as her fursona, maybe even a peacock and octopus hybrid if Haym is helping her out.

Tatiana: Okay, I am going into the fantasy a lot with this one, but I just don't see any fursona that better represents Tatiana than a phoenix. She would probably pick that too, or just pick like a bear or something.

Kliff: He'd be represented by a red fox. Hmmm, what would he choose though... I can see him choosing a firehawk as a fursona.

DK West: We already know that West is represented by a bull, and honestly I can see him also choosing that as a fursona. Although, I can also see him choosing a water buffalo or an Asian elephant.

Mystery Man: I don't know what he'd choose, but I can see him as some kind of water snake. Like a snake that can travel on water, but it would probably also be one made out of water (like the pattern of it would look like water).

Cyril: He'd choose a vampire bat as his fursona (wonder if people will get what I am referencing here). As for one that represents him, I'd say a hedgehog would be best.

Noa: Maybe a boar for represented fursona. Though I can see him choosing a group of starling as his fursona (kinda like how those fish in Finding Nemo make faces and images, would be how Noa's fursona would work, so he doesn't have a fursuit but would get his fursona drawn/2D model or someting).

Asa: He is definitely represented by a weasel. He'd probably go for a slow worm/legless lizard though.

Rei: I feel like his representative animal would be the red deer. He'd probably choose a Western Taipan (I can see the tail or just some scales with creative liberty being put over the left eye like Rei likes to do with his hair).

Elivy (Goolings Singer): I don't know, I see his represented animal as a shrew. But I feel like he'd pick a barn owl for his fursona.

Quida (Goolings Drummer): Hhmmm. She would pick the Ocellated lizard as her fursona. Either that or she would pick the Processionary Caterpillar, though I also see that as representing her.

Joust (Goolings Bassist): When I drew him I was basing his design off of a shark, and so that would be his represented animal. As for choosing, he might choose a striped hyena.

Martha: A wolf in sheep's clothing lol. That would be her representation (or even Kliff lol). But she would probably choose a Northern Red Salamander.

Aria: And finally, Aria. She would choose to be a firefly for her fursona. I feel like she would have a dove that represents her though.

Headcanon time!!

1. West and DJ have Thier hoodies, shirts and jackets constantly stolen by Thier respective Partners even after offering to just buy the clothes in that size!

10. Zuke, Remi and Eve all have spidersonas (and they all wanted the new spider verse together)

1). Nova is a lot more adamant on their partner just getting a plus size hoodie/shirt to wear as he doesn't like people wearing his clothes except in certain situations (ie. partner is extremely cold even with proper clothes). West on the other hand loves sharing his clothes but after some time not getting it back starts either suggesting them to get clothes his size or will steal his clothes back.

2). Like the spice? I actually see Adder as not having a good tolerance for spice at all. He is much more of a bland food kinda guy.

3). They are also probably talking about all other kinds of alcoholic drinks as well. Purl and Joust arguing if fruity drinks are good or not and Cyril wanting to combine their cultural alcohols together for fun. (also love that you put Purl and Joust together in a HC because they do have a kind of relationship I have yet to publicly explore yet lol).

4). This was definitely Sofa's idea. Asked Dodo for help to teach simple exercises and was able to get Tila and Remi to join in as well. It has helped all of them both physically and mentally to have this active time every day.

5). Well for Nova that's basically canon based off the concept art lol. Yinu I can definitely see her having light up shoes as well. As for May, she would LOVE to have some but can't because light up shoes are super chonky and she hates having big shoes on (heck, she hates having shoes on at all). So she just wishes she could have light up shoes that didn't feel heavy/big.

6). Hmm... Sorry, don't know how I feel about this one. Mainly because my family used "Chewbacca" as an insult growing up for my cousin. Also, calling 1010 clone troopers would probably be more of an insult than an endearing nickname (especially to Purl who has major problems with their identity). So, sorry, but for this one I can't get behind as a headcanon (obviously you can have it though! I just have my own issues with it).

7). Those early 2000s Barbie movies were amazing! Don't know if she would be greatly into them, but I can see her having them just for fun, especially after the new Barbie movie that came out (is coming out? IDK, haven't been keeping up to date with it, only know the memes coming out of it).

8). Him and Purl are the same then lol (though for Purl it's more of an unsettling feeling than a true fear).

9). Technically she can still have it, but I think you mean when it was a solid piece of metal. And yeah, at that point I can definitely see 1010 doing something stupid and next thing you know Eloni has her rind fully stuck in the hand slot thing lol.

10). Ooooh! I still need to see that movie! I've been seeing such good things from it. You better believe those three are loving every moment from it! Eve's spidersona definitely has multiple arms. Purl, Remi, and Sofa are also probably talking about animation. Eve, Zimelu, and Celine are gonna make cosplays. Fun stuff all around.

(Cut to Zuke takes five small hooks and rubber rope with one rope as sneaking to 1010 as he hooks 1010's trunks and runs as hiding the box while he looks and chuckles to 1010, then he pulls out as rips out 1010's trunks which everyone noticed and then laughing at 1010 not even Yinu's Mother covered Yinu's eyes who still laughing, Mayday fainted out as Neon J holds her and looks at 1010 and he started laughing to them. Cut to 1010 confused at everyone continue laughing at them.)

Rin: (confused) What? Why's everyone laughing at us?

(Cut to Tatiana and Eve looking terrible while in background, Zuke throws 1010's trunks on rope as Kliff yelps offscreen, then Zuke laughing and runs to Mayday, DJ Subatomic Supernova, and Neon J, then Zuke noticed Mayday still fainted out as hold by Neon J, and he starts annoying.)

Zuke: (sighs in annoying) She's fainted out about 1010 again.
