hello!!! i just stumbled across your resurgence au (i think that's the name lol) and it looks super cool!!!! :OOO may i ask what is maki's whole deal,,,i love her a lot :3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's Maki time!
So in Resurgence, like the rest of the V3 cast, Maki is saved from the simulation by Future Foundation. I've touched on this in a few older posts, but their recovery took place in a hastily thrown together field base/hospital in a city that's still pretty deep in despair. It was a matter of not being able to get transport in for everyone right away - they had a set date for the helicopters to come for them all.
By unfortunate coincidence (coincidence, huh) - the day the helicopters come, the hospital is bombed by a Despair mob. They weren't so happy with their show being cancelled by stupid teenagers (THH was streamed to the world, then despair audiences kinda gutted and reverse engineered the Neo World Program after the Remnants were restored to their og personalities, I'd say it's probably because of the brainwashed Future Foundation members that it got out to the world - so yeah "Danganronpa" is a "TV" show in that regard, but its not how the V3 ending explains it)
Maki was in a separate wing from most of the others when the bombs went off, and her escape route ended up on the side where the mob was gathered (a lot of the others got around the mob by going out other exits) - So Maki has to fight her way to safety, and unfortunately, she misses out on the helicopter evacuation.
Now, Maki can take care of herself. She might not be Ultimate Apocalypse Survivor, but she has the training to patch wounds, adapt to harsh conditions, and defend herself. So she's doing about as fine as one can in a city that's basically an active war zone.
Then Kaede shows up.
Honestly, I'm not sure why I chose Kaede, I really wanna explore that dynamic but haven't gotten around to it yet - I think their personalities would blend and butt against each other in a situation like this, it's like a hardcore setting for the killing game with no rules. Kaede was with Future Foundation as a field agent, but her squad got separated during an attack (they were probably looking for the missing V3 cast) - Funnily enough Kaito, Tenko, and Shuichi were on that squad so - yikes on missing them.
So now it's Maki and Kaede vs the world!
Until Kaede's radio starts unscrambling itself and picking up Future Foundation communications again - but they can't reply it seems. The signal seems to fade in and out each time they leave this district, maybe they should investigate, right?
... Oh hi Kokichi and Kiibo!
---
That's about as far as I've gotten in the general aspect of Maki's arc! I could go into detail about points up until now, but this post is already getting long on me. There will be bonding, there will be old scores to settle, there will be... forgiveness? Well, it's too early to say. I think the four of them are an interesting squad to shove into the apocalypse together, especially knowing the later game dynamics of Kokichi, Kiibo, and Maki, and me basically having to figure out Kaede and if the blank slate of her not being around for most of V3 is something that helps them all get along or complete ruins the dynamic at moments.

We need more Danganronpa characters as evil groups, but not the Ultimate Despair or its remnants. Too abstract. Too bland. Fuck despair. Fuck Junko. I'm either killing her off or she doesn't exist. Danganronpa villain groups completely distanced from the Ultimate Despair:
Makoto Naegi is the charismatic head of a dictatorship. Perhaps he believes this is what's best for the world. Or he just wants a throne to sit on. This is an alternative timeline, maybe he's evil here. Either way, he managed to rope in his 14 other classmates into joining him in his empire. Byakuya uses the Togami Corporation to clench Makoto's rule and fund projects wherever he can. He's also a consultant, alongside Yasuhiro Hagakure. Kyoko Kirigiri is the head of the espionage department, with Chihiro as the second-in-command and head of data management. Kiyotaka manages the police force, acting as judge, jury, and executioner. Mondo, Sakura, Aoi, and Mukuro all work in Makoto's army. Sayaka, Leon, Hifumi, and Toko work in the entertainment (or in other words, propaganda,) division. Genocider is allowed to kill any pretty boys the espionage department lets her. Celestia rules over her own chunk of land as gothic lolita queen and is arguably the loosest link, but ultimately still abides by Makoto's laws.
The Danganronpa V3 cast has been corrupted into animalistic monsters, think Steven Universe. Gonta's body has been converted into a flying hive for all manner of bugs, all sorts of flyers coming from his eyesockets and mouth carrying centipedes, spiders, and other flightless bugs so they all can feed and bring food back to the husk that was once a gentleman. Kirumi now resembles a marble statue with a blindfold over her eyes and a clock on her backside, where her four arms and four legs move in orderly, yet seemingly random fashions. If you come across her, you have to play a game of following her increasingly complex commands, often akin to a game of Simon Says, or risk searing throbbing pain. Kiibo is one of the more threatening ones. With his body inorganic and unable to be distorted like the others, his mind was merely warped into malware that can possess anything with a computer inside it. This includes cell phones, calculators, thermostats, cars with built-in GPSes and cameras, etc. His body, the source of the malware, is still unknown. A two-faced gorgon obsessed with creating rudimentary-yet-effective deathtraps. A gorgeous and colorful false angel. A blob of goo that somehow knows how to use various machinery. Perhaps the three survivors are akin to the Crystal Gems here, survivors in a different sense here, the ones fighting their former friends for the sake of everyone else.
Ruruka Ando as the queen of what is essentially candyland, with Sonosuke Izayoi as her knight in sweet, delicious, and surprisingly durable armor. All citizens in her expanding country are given free sweets to devour, and those who don't are punished for their insolence.
Finally, the cast of Super Danganronpa 2 are a team of mercenaries. Evil goons for hire, as that's what they've been typecast as at this point. Maybe life has just been really harsh on them and NezumiVA was right. Or maybe this is similar to canon, where they got puppeted into evil and were eventually freed, only to annihilate their reputation by continuing to pose as villains, effectively pigeonholing themselves into evil from society's eyes. As for what they could do: Kazuichi could build a robotic army or just machines for the lower mooks to ride on. Sonia, Fuyuhiko, and Twogami could all rule conquered provinces in the empire. Nekomaru could command minions while Akane and Peko act as elite troops. Ibuki could too, considering the lethality of her music, or she could act in espionage alongside Mahiru and Hiyoko, considering her hearing skills. Gundham could add various animals to the armada. Teruteru can produce food for the army. Mikan is literally a medic. Izuru Kamakura lives on, and is the Ultimate Ultimate. Possibly even more, considering the timeline. Nagito Komaeda is the equivalent of one of those really small cylinders of play-doh that are wider than they are tall. I can't imagine Chiaki being in the group, however. Either way, I can imagine this quirky miniboss squad having various unique interactions with our heroes, whoever they may be. I'd imagine Nekomaru would befriend the heroes in an odd way, being supportive of their strength and a fair fighter despite being on the villain's side, while Teruteru would repulse our heroes for being a sexual harasser, for example.
Also @goshdangronpa I want you to look at this, girlie. Read it all. Soak it up.

DRV3 meets SDR2
A drabble for that idea where the DRV3 cast also went through a simulation.
.·:*¨ ✘♚✘ ¨*:·.
He’s been speculated, many times, if he really was the Ultimate Liar and not the Ultimate Supreme Leader with how often his mouth spews bullshit.
But everything was a lie, so what does it matter anymore?
There’s the strange way he had to look at this man, with dark hair cropped under the cheap, shitty lighting that fills this facility, claiming to have all the talents under the sun, and simply trust that their talents weren’t real.
“But, you have them now.” He stated, again in this monotone voice that grated his ears. He sounded so bored while everyone else's world crashed around him like the predictable little pawns they were not that he was faring that much better.
“You sure seem pretty nonchalant about this! I sure thought you’d be more touchy-feely, Mr. Kamukura, sir.”
Heterochromatic eyes immediately sharpened toward him. He heard the way his classmates whisper, how loudly they go, “Kamukura? That guy’s name is Hajime Hinata, isn’t it?”, but he ignored it all. Despite his sly tone, he knew his face is only dead serious. He heard all about this man in passing, from the whispers of other Remnants and snooping into places he got into with more ease than he probably should’ve. There was no use playing pretend with this man. He was a cold, unfeeling robot- full offense Kiibo- but a masterful genius who contributed to the Tragedy.
“I… apologize.” Kamukura’s tone turned more contemplative, but still undeniably monotone. He even had the audacity to nod at him, as if acknowledging what he said, but he knew he’s not even going to attempt to address it. “I harbour empathy for you all, despite how I express it.”
That was the worst lie he ever heard, but the man had no tells suggesting it, or perhaps he will never be able to recover the ability to understand a person from their body language. So what’s the point then? None of this was going to be worthwhile. Might as well tune it out. It's all white noise, until-
“I was once a talentless nobody, and I gained every talent at once.”
“How… is that possible?” Shuichi’s voice chimed in, and Kokichi started. The detective hadn’t made a single sound since everyone came in.
“Human experimentation.”
Silence.
“I have no desire to discuss it. I hardly remember it, regardless. The fact of the matter is, I was talentless, a Reserve Course student of Hope’s Peak, and well… I obtained a talent. Talents.”
He looked around the room. “You would be going through an experience. The inverse of my situation applies to you, so I cannot say much. The talents you had in the game were false, but that does not mean no portion of it was real. I know some of you have already recovered some of your past memories.
Being talentless does not mean useless. This I swear to you.”
“Easy for you to say! You have every talent at your disposal! We lost the one thing that makes us-!”
“‘-who you are.’” Kamukura finished. “Predictable. Bor-.” A pause.
Suddenly, his eyebrows furrowed and a scowl painted his features. This was Hajime. “I’m sorry about him, he’s trying. Look, just take it from me, even when I was talentless I was probably the most sane and helpful out of all the damn Ultimates in my killing game. Hope’s Peak were monsters for making us think that not being labeled as Ultimates suddenly meant you were useless. They forced society to care about a select few individuals and look where it got us.”
“Your talents didn’t make you who you are. You made your way through because of everything, and the talents you had didn’t really help much in the end, did they? Because they sure as hell didn’t help me.”

So like. Danganronpa V3 au idea I had. Where all the V3 cast are someone who was personally attacked/effected by the actions of one of the remnants of despair/Junko/Izuru.
(List of who effected who- I have vague ideas for each)
Izuru- Rantaro
Junko- Tsumugi
Nagito- Kiibo
Fuyuhiko- Ryoma
Akane- Kaito
Sonia- Kirumi
Kazuichi- Miu
Imposter- Angie
Teruteru- Korekiyo
Mahiru- Shuichi
Peko- Maki
Ibuki- Kaede
Hyoko- Himiko
Mikan- Kokichi
Nekomaru- Tenko
Gundham- Gonta
And they all end up being targeted and arrested by a governing power (NOT the Future Foundation) who have found out the Remnants are alive and wish to kill them once and for all. They basically end up shaping the V3 cast to take down the Sdr2 cast-
The story would be the Sdr2 cast and the V3 cast clashing with ultimately the Sdr2 cast proving they have changed for the better, and the V3 cast getting the closure they need + escaping from the governing body that only used them for vengeance.
Idk feel free to add on I’m just having fun. :))

i like your interesting take on tsumugi as a protagonist. i don't hear tsumugi a lot in terms of meta reasons and appreciation and i'd like to hear your though about tsumugi being a main protagonist please. :)
I'd LOVE to. Protagonist Tsumugi is something I really do think fondly of and often wish for.
Firstly, I think Tsumugi is really the only mastermind who you feasibly could play in a perspective of without making them forget they're the mastermind (a la Izuru). So much of V3 is either pre-planned or run by others on Team Danganronpa that her actual involvement as a mastermind is essentially nil - she's just doing damage control. It would be very easy to foreshadow the reveal without outright revealing that she's involved, the same way as with Kaede in the first trial.
Tsumugi is also the V3 character who has the most vested interest in keeping the trials going and making sure they get solved, because if the trial ends there, then there's no show. I could absolutely see Tsumugi's protagonist interventions ("No, that's wrong!") as being subtle interventions to make sure that the group is on the right track, but justified in her not quite knowing the answers because she isn't an ace detective, she's just a cosplayer with a mic in her ear to tell her when she needs to get everyone back on track.
I also think that playing as Tsumugi would play into V3's greater theme of culpability and the control of the audience. By playing as the mastermind, you are directing the killing game. Within the fiction, you, the player, are personally responsible for what happens here. Again, Kaede plays into this in a lot of ways as well (I think a version of the game where you still play as Kaede at first would serve this AU best), but the slow burn of it all makes the realization that much more horrifying, in the same way as the realization that everyone is Remnants at the end of SDR2. Kiibo as protagonist could also accomplish this, since you'd be more connected to the in-universe audience, but I think Tsumugi would provide an interesting take unique to her where the player is really taking on the role of Team Danganronpa itself.
There's an overarching theme that Tsumugi fits into with previous protagonists, too; Komaru had no connection to the mastermind, Makoto was friends with the mastermind once, Kaede and Hajime were accomplices to the mastermind once, and Tsumugi is the mastermind/accomplice to the masterminds. You get the final entry into this sort of sliding scale of connection to the villain, which in current DR is kind of dangling open-ended.
And she's also the only character in V3 who really plays into Danganronpa's overarching theme of the imposter complex ("plain, plain, plain")! I think it'd be so cool to have a take on the I'm Just Some Guy nature of DR's protagonists that is actually very talented, but still has this low self esteem because of the way they think about their talent. They tried to do this with Shuichi a little bit, but imo it wasn't very effective, because it never really came up; Shuichi's arc wasn't about learning that he is actually a good detective, it was about overcoming trauma. A Tsumugi arc where she learns that her talent is valuable, that she can have an impact on the things and people she cares about - especially when we, as the audience, think she's talking about supporting the other players, but in reality she's talking about supporting the killing game? Oh. Ooooooooh. I love that shit.
I do generally think that they should have done a lot more with Tsumugi's character. And, in fairness to them, there are reasons for Tsumugi being just a quiet background character without much impact - it's the big startling counterpoint that she's secretly the mastermind, compared to the more traditional tropes of the rest of the game; Tsumugi's reveal is what really blows the game wide open and makes you rethink the entire story thus far. I just personally think that there are ways they could've done it more effectively, to really give it that oomph.

Postgame is just:
"I'm not a remnant I swear!"
"Oh really, what about when you *insert atrocities here*?"
"I...."*proceeds to disassociate and have flashbacks*
Also these guys can't have deus ex Makoto bust them out, the FF learned their lesson the first time so they aren't telling him, only keeping them alive to get intell about where the rest of the remnants are.
Lets see if we go with the cast survives with Himiko Maki Shuichi Kaito and POTENTIALLY Kiibo i think as long as they all stick to Maki like FUCKING GLUE they'll be fine
Actually that gives me a funny idea
At the final trial
Shuichi: we're done playing your game!
Kokichi and Gonta: Cool
Shuichi: wha-
Kokichi and Gonta: yeah we were getting bored of it, you can go if you want
Shuichi: but...but....
Maki: You're just going to fucking leave???
Kokichi and Gonta walking off: Yeah, bye, you can stay I guess but like, people are looking for you, so maybe you should go find them instead
Shuichi: What the fuck

“Are you done yet?” Ouma whines childishly, swinging his legs back and forth from where he’s sitting.
“Quit your whining, I’ve almost got it,” Miu grumbles. She pulls at a wire on the back of Kiibo’s neck plate before abruptly changing her mind and grabbing a screwdriver instead to loosen something.
“But Iruma-chan is going sooooo slow!” Ouma complains. Miu flips him off, an action which Ouma returns in kind.
Kiibo beams. He’s so happy that his friends are getting along with each other!
“I still don’t get the point of this,” Saihara interjects. “Right now, Kiibo-kun does everything we say, why undo that?”
Ouma sighs dramatically. “Kiiboy’s so boring now! The emotion blockers Iruma-chan put in keep him from being interesting!” He smirks. “So this is just for fun!”
Momota snorts. “Of course you would think this is fun.”
“Well, I’m sorry you have a terrible sense of humor,” Ouma snarks back.
“Everyone, shut up, I’ve almost got it,” Miu orders, having returned to adjusting the wires at Kiibo’s neck.
“I believe in you, Miu!” Akamatsu cheers from her position draped across Harukawa, who bears it with an expression of complete stoicism.
“I don’t!” Ouma chimes in cheerfully, prompting an indignant “Oi!” from Miu.
“One last touch…” Miu mutters. There’s a slight jolt as she clicks something into place, then a larger one as she yanks a wire out. “Got it!”
There’s nothing for a second, before something clicks.
Images pour into Kiibo’s mind immediately in a dizzying whirl. Momota and Saihara laughing as they burn a building to the ground. Shirogane infiltrating the Future Foundation, sabotaging their efforts from the inside.
What…
Harukawa fully embracing her assassin side, killing people mercilessly left, right and centre. Chabashira becoming so infatuated with Enoshima that she starts to push everyone away, completely blind to the monster Enoshima really is. Yonaga spreading her new ‘religion’, desecrating locations worldwide and bringing despair everywhere she goes.
Why didn’t I stop this?...
Akamatsu weaving beautiful, horrifying pieces of music, plunging anyone who hears it into mind-numbing despair and smiling. Gonta, the gentle giant, abandoning all his values and dreams of being a gentleman, descending into being completely feral. Shinguji sobbing as his beloved artefacts are mercilessly destroyed, despite his attempts to save them.
No…
Ouma brutally slaughtering DICE, his closest friends as tears run down his face and he laughs in ecstasy. Miu herself, constructing machines that bring destruction to the world, the complete opposite of her goals. Tojo, snapping under the constant pressure and deciding to take control of everyone in order to fulfil people’s wishes.
Stop it…
Everyone else. Yumeno, Hoshi, Amami Kamukura- and Kiibo. Standing and watching as the world burns. As his friends carry out these atrocious acts. Smiling. Encouraging them. Doing nothing to stop them.
Stop it!
“Stop it!” he screams, completely overwhelmed by the rush of emotions. “Stop it stop it stop it…” he dies off to a whimper, clutching his head in pain.
“So, Kiiboy! How’re you feeling?~” Ouma sing-songs. When Kiibo looks back at him, he’s grinning madly, eyes alight with something psychotic.
(He can only think of how Ouma screamed and wailed and sobbed as he killed DICE, his friends, his family in all but blood, yet had kept on at it, smiling through his tears. How broken he had looked afterwards, blood staining his clothes and dripping down his body.)
The feeling gets worse as he looks at the rest of them, flowing through his insides like poison. Of how broken all of them look, hollow shells filled with despair, eyes swirling but empty at the same time-
Kiibo whirls to face Miu, holding onto her desperately as he begs, “Put it back! Please, Miu, just- whatever it was, put it back please!”
He squeezes his eyes shut, unable to bear the sight of all his friends with their red, swirling eyes. He thinks he hears Ouma, Saihara and…Momota, maybe? All laughing as they watch his breakdown.
“Please…It’s too much- I…I can’t-” he manages to gasp out. His circuitry is going haywire with the sheer amount of emotions pouring into him, not meant to withstand this many. And maybe it’s selfish, to want to get rid of these feelings, when he should be trying to stop them - his friends - from doing all these awful deeds.
A small part of his brain is screaming at him to activate his rocket boosters and fly away, find the Future Foundation and help them to fight against the Remnants.
But Kiibo was designed to mimic human traits as closely as possible, and thus he is flawed and imperfect and selfish, and he just wants these feelings to go away-
“Aw, not so easy with a conscience, is it?” Miu coos, wrapping her arms around him. “Don’t worry, baby, I’ll fix you up again in a sec.”
“Little baby Kiiboy can’t handle all these emotions?~” Ouma giggles, leaning into his space. “Can’t handle knowing that you were the cause of so much destruction?”
“S-Stay away from me!”
From behind, Akamatsu pouts. “That’s not very nice, Kiibo-kun. Aren’t we friends?”
“Yeah! We’re all on the same team!” Momota chimes in, slinging an arm around Harukawa, who leans into his touch. The assassin doesn’t add on, but her eyes lock on to Kiibo’s, sending a chill up his spine.
“Working towards the same goals, right?” Ouma moves back slightly, letting Saihara approach from the other side.
“You’ve got as much blood on your hands as we do!” Saihara chirps, his normally kind eyes containing nothing but cruel amusement.
“N-No, I-” Kiibo glances down at his hands in distress.
(The worst part is, they’re not lying. Blood drips through his fingers, staining his metal red. Waterfalls of it pool at his feet, thick and cloying. When he closes his eyes, it’s all he can see.
Everywhere.)
“Don’t be so modest, baby, we both know how good you are with your hands~” Miu purrs, grabbing his face gently in her hands.
“Please,” he whispers. “Please just put it back.”
Miu sighs loudly. “And after all the time I spent taking it out. Fine, only for you, baby.”
As she guides him away, Kiibo hears Ouma giggle, “Well, he hates us and himself now! I’d consider that a win.”
“Yeah, that was fun,” Saihara agrees.
“Kaito, if we don’t get out of here in the next one minute, I’m going to slaughter that rat.”
“Gotcha, babe!”

im still imagining the first time the remnants met Kokichi as Izuru's baby. did he just show up to where everyone else was hanging out with a baby sling and not comment? Kazuichi's like "so um. whatcha. whatcha got there bud." and Izuru just holds up paperwork related to the planning of whatever else he's got going on like "is it not clear". also was Kokichi born before SDR2. was the future foundation looking after this baby while his dad was in the computer coma or did the kids come later
Kokichi specifically was born before sdr2 (around the same time as Shuichi) and at some point either Izuru abandoned him :( or he just got seperated from Izuru and the remnants (sick band name ngl) but no matter what he spent a smattering of time on the streets until Naegi found him and made sure he got reunited with Hajime. He showed up on Jabberwock maybe 2 weeks after the survivors woke up.
Honestly Izuru wouldn’t say anything about having a baby let’s be honest. He just disappears for nine months like “I have despair stuff to do dont die while I’m gone” and just reappears with Kokichi like nothing happened. (My man’s really went on maternity leave during the apocalypse)
As for the other Jabberwock kids, Kaede was born around the same time as Shuichi and Kokichi and was adopted a little while after Ibuki and Mikan got together. Rantaro spawned in at some point but he’s also in the Older Kiddos on Jabberwock gang. Himiko was born a while after Gundham woke up and he and Sonia got settled. Kiibo began production one night at 2:46 am because Souda and Alter Ego were bored and wanted to start a kinda big project.

If Physicist got the despair disease what do you think their disease would be?
this is a really interesting question !!!
so , as far as i can tell, there doesnt seem to be much of a discernible pattern in how despair disease affects people? when we first saw owari i assumed it was going to be something that made people act in a polar opposite way to their personalities, but then we had komaeda with the chronic lying ( komaeda , who is definitely Not prone to always telling the truth ) and mioda with the gullibleness when that had never been any sort of established character trait . and finally tsumiki with the remembering disease which . i still think is total bullshit but whatever .
actually , now i think about it - all of these things are definitely something that could increase the likelihood of a murder . like , their friends being sick isnt the only motivation, cause thing about it !! constant crying and thinking of oneself as weak , pathological lying, gulibleness , and remembering you used to be remnant of despair ? its a recipe for murder in the making.
so if we go with that , combined with phys' established traits .... i think it would affect them in a way that would really ramp up their paranoia . phys isnt an inherently distrustful person , but theyre less faithful in people than , say, momota or kiibo or gokuhara . i think it would be really interesting to see them turn on everyone — all of a sudden they cant be with harukawa, the ultimate assassin , and they have to keep saihara away from them, he's a detective, he could easily kill them and get away with it !! and momota and gokuhara are much stronger than them , and yonaga knows all about bloody rituals from the tales of her island , and ouma? ouma who jokes about killing them all the time ? they might be more afraid of him than anyone else .
this is a rly fun concept . i see hijinks. i see angst potential . i see .... a potential chapter in the au oneshot book that i will eventually get around to publishing .

Today in Danganronpa V3 : February 1st, Day 21
In the morning, Harukawa comes to Saihara's room and asks him to come to the dining hall.
She had found a Flashback Light in there and says they should watch it before making other decisions.
From it, they learn they were actually students from Hope's Peak Academy, and Ouma is a member the Remnants of Despair, the organization they were facing who worshipped Junko Enoshima.
Inspired by Kiibo's words, everyone regains Hope and decides to stop Ouma.
Ouma and Momota are currently in the hangar.
(^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Most important part btw)
So to break in they will need the Electrobomb Harukawa stole and the Electrohammers which are currently out of battery. They take 24h to recharge so they will make their move tomorrow morning.
Harukawa is intent on killing Ouma but the others dissuade her.
In the evening, Saihara goes to the hangar alone and sees Monokuma being surrounded by 4 Exisals. He tries to peer inside from the toilet window and ends up face to face with Momota.
He tells him they will come to his rescue tomorrow but he says he'll also find a way somehow. They are able to reconcile before Saihara goes back to his room.

I'd also like to add this, since this is where the discussion of Kokichi's age and "could he even be Junko's right hand man" comes from
This discussion (and crack AU) started after I was going through the Event Gallery in the Extra's menu and came across an Event titled "The Ultimate Despair Has Arrived!" Which has some dubbed lines over it
Shuichi in this event dialogue says that Kokichi was the leader of the Remnants of Despair, while also saying that "Out of all of us, he is the closest to the Ultimate Despair."
Considering being the Leader of the Remnants would imply he has a very close standing with Junko (as Junko actually corrupted the class herself, where as Tsumugi says they were all fanboys and fangirls of her)
With Maki calling Kokichi a comrade and Kiibo saying Kokichi was "second only to the Ultimate Despair herself!" It implies heavily that Kokichi, as a Remnant of Despair, was her right hand man/second in command.
HOWEVER. The whole start of the discussion here was me pointing out how this was incredibly bogus logic from the start, how the class could have figured out this was all a lie if they stopped hating on Kokichi for one damn second.
Namely, in the main V3 timeline, the V3 cast would be far younger than the DR1 and 2 casts--to the point where Kokichi being "A comrade to Junko Enoshima, The leader of the Remnants of Despair" is utterly ridiculous.
Anyway I'm assuming that's where the Anon was coming from because my blog exploded with the "Six year old Kokichi is the Despair Mascot" AU after @ultimateplaylistmaker made the joke of Kokichi being more akin to a mascot that her actual right hand man
Y'know what's funny to think about, if the chapter 5 flashback light was accurate(the Kokichi was Junkos second hand one) based on the rough timeline given by Tsumugi he would've been like 6-8 at the time which is hilarious
Now forgive me if I'm forgetting something because I've had a terrible headache all day. As funny as this concept is, the chapter 5 flashback light doesn't say that Kokichi was Junko's second hand guy? I quickly rewatched it (but again, headache) and it just seemed to imply that Kokichi was leading the new remnants after the Tragedy that kicked back into mainstream with the despair and panic of the meteorites, and that he worshiped and admired Junko. It never said that he worked with her directly??
