we don’t talk about dream (dream x reader)
summary (slight!au for convenience, really) tommy grew up in fear of the man he never truly knew. but as he grew older and old secrets come into light during the development of l’manburg, tommy searches for answers about the name that many no longer say.
warning swearing, mentions of murder
a/n yes, this was totally to feed my simultaneous dream smp and encanto addictions. no further questions (it’s got a slow start but i promise it gets better!!!!)
gif cred belongs to @calamardo-sad
“send tommy to the basement, they said,” tommy mimicked, his voice high pitched in his muttering despite mocking his father’s words. he opened the loud door to the basement of his childhood home. “he can find it, they said.” he huffed out, flicking at the light switch. nothing happened. he flickered at it a few more times before groaning out. “you’re fucking kidding.”
he rubbed a hand down his face as he stared into the darkness of the basement, the wooden stairs the only thing visible to him at that angle. still, his chest filled with childish fear.
tommy sighed. “stupid technoblade and his stupid birthday..” he began down the stairs, still rambling angrily to himself. “why would he want to look through that stupid journal anyway? he probably couldn’t understand anything that’s written in there anyway..” he groaned again at the sea of boxes awaiting him. “im the best fucking brother ever for this.”
he weaved through the dusty boxes, squinting at the old sharpie to make out what was written on them while muttering about how wilbur owed him. it took him ten minutes before he finally made out a faint ‘technoblade’ on a pile of boxes. he sighed again heavily, dropping to his knees and getting to the real search.
it would have been a nice, nostalgic feeling going through them had it not been for the layers of dust that kicked into his face at every other thing he pulled out of the boxes. finally, after sneezing and coughing more than he had in his entire life, tommy found a box of old books and journals.
he grabbed out the journals--three small books with a child’s shorthand proclaiming ‘techno’ on the front of it. tommy smiled slightly, feeling a small weight lift off his shoulders. he was about to open one, take a look at young technoblade’s thoughts, when he heard something fall behind him.
his head immediately snapped over, eyes drawn to a shining object that caught the slight glint of light in the dark basement. he tucked the journals under his arm and cautiously headed over to the object.
kneeling down by it, tommy realized it was an old disc peeking out of its cover. he slipped it back in before picking up the casing. he nearly dropped it again when he saw what was written on.
‘FROM DREAM’
growing up, dream was a household name for tommy. from his brother’s scheming of rising up and breaking dream’s tyrannical foundation, to the fight for l’manburg itself, tommy grew to live in fear of the man he had only met twice; once, he was too young to remember, and again when the man threatened his life on his own doorstep. and yet, that was still years ago.
so why was a disc with his name on it in their basement?
tommy held it up to the light more, blood rushing loudly in his ears. when he saw what else was written, he actually did drop the disc, yelping as though it had burned him.
‘TO TOMMY’
tommy knelt down slowly, his breathing suddenly heavy with the fear that filled his chest. his hands were shaking as he went to grasp the disc, seeing it was anything like those he had collected. maybe it was one he had stolen from him.
but when he went to pull the disc from its casing, only a portion of it came out. tommy shook the case, and the rest of the broken pieces scattered onto the floor; at least eight different portions of the disc from a man who almost killed his entire family and country.
“shit.”
...
tommy sighed at the laid out pieces of the broken disc. “why is this here for me, dream?”
the loud creak of the front door opening made tommy flinch, quickly wheeling around and brushing the broken pieces further behind his back. karl stood in the doorway, looking curiously over at tommy with a box in hand.
“karl!” tommy exclaimed breathlessly. “jesus, man, you scared me.”
“sorry, sorry,” the man shrugged with a huff. “i was dropping off some things for philza when i, uh..” he placed down the box and looked over at tommy again. “heard the name we don’t speak.”
right. tommy had forgotten about the country’s superstition; never say dream’s name, for he has ears everywhere.
“right, uh, sorry,” tommy coughed. karl just turned away, probably going to get another box from outside. “but..” the brunette turned to him again. “if there were to be anything said about dream..”
“we don’t talk about dream,” karl reiterated, holding up his hands to stop tommy from pressing the topic. he already seemed stressed at just the thought of the man.
“but-”
“tommy, i would drop it,” he shook his head, eyes shifting out the doorway.
tommy couldn’t help it--if anyone were to know anything, it would be karl. that guy seemed to have limitless information at his disposal. “but say that, in theory, d- he,” karl raised his eyebrows, but said nothing, “was out for you.. what would he do?”
before karl even had the chance to try to lecture him, sapnap burst through the door, another box in hand. “he was nightmare!”
“sap!” karl pleaded, tugging at his arm after he placed the box down.
“karl, he deserves to know,” sapnap brushed, beginning toward tommy. “he would make terrible promises, manipulate you until you didn’t know what was true, and then BOOM!” tommy flinched when sapnap lurched suddenly toward his face. “and there was nothing you could do.”
“sapnap, please!”
“what if you didn’t know whether or not he was coming after you?” tommy rushed out. “what would you do if you didn’t know where you stood with him?”
“well, you’d better figure it out,” sapnap warned, shaking his head. “because he was coming for you.” before tommy could ask anything else, karl wedged his way between them and pushed sapnap away.
“we don’t talk about dream!” he proclaimed, loud and adamant. “okay? not since..” karl sighed out. sapnap placed a hand on his husband’s shoulder as his head dropped. there was a moment of tense silence where guilt creeped at tommy’s heart before karl’s bright, passionate eyes turned to him again.
“i’ll talk about him just this once,” karl spoke seriously. “but then never again.” tommy nodded fervently, discreetly sweeping the broken vinyl pieces into one of the set out bowls as sapnap lead his husband to sit down. “it was our wedding day.. we were getting ready when it started raining.”
“it wasn’t ideal, but it was just a little rain,” sapnap cut in. karl sent him a light glare.
“right, we weren’t going to let that ruin our wedding,” karl continued. tommy nodded. he vaguely remembered their wedding; it had only been a few years ago.. but he didn’t remember anything about dream. “then dream happened. all we saw was a lightning strike-”
“the kind that can only happen from a trident summoning it,” sapnap clarified and karl hit his arm.
“are you telling this story, or am i?”
sapnap smiled at his husband, grabbing the hand that just hit him and pressed a kiss to his knuckles. tommy would’ve gagged had he not been so focused on the main point of the story. “im sorry, darlin’. go on.”
karl rolled his eyes with a smile, turning back to tommy. “well, whenever lightnings starts.. it doesn’t stop.” sapnap squeezed his husband’s hand. “one thing lead to another, the weather turned into a full-fledged storm by the time of the reception--practically a hurricane!”
“i do remember that,” tommy nodded. “the wedding moved into your house after that. phil had me and techno move all the tables inside.”
“it was still the most amazing day of our lives,” sapnap reaffirmed. “we didn’t let that idiot ruin it, but.. after that day we started living by the superstition.”
“we don’t talk about dream,” karl spoke as he stood from the table. “so whatever this new curiosity you have, tommy..” him and sapnap looked at him seriously. “i would drop it.”
...
he didn’t drop it.
“well, we all grew up fearing him,” tubbo shook his head. “but even now, he’s everywhere. always mumbling, planning.. i bet he practically lives in l’manburg.”
“you think?” tommy questioned. him, tubbo, and ranboo were sitting on the outskirts of the country, lounging in the shade of a large tree when tommy “casually” brought up the feared man again.
“there’s no way he just left us alone after all that’s happened,” tubbo continued. “it’s been nearly two years since the war ended, but it’s not over. not really. not as long as he’s out there.” tommy and ranboo shared an uneasy look. “i associate him with the sound of the shifting stone. every time we hear that loud shift, president soot always says it’s the wall settling, but i think it’s dream. he’s probably watching us from our very own wall.
“and he scares them all. leaves the president and the entire country fumbling at just the sound of his name. just the idea of him.” tubbo sat up straight. “one day, i’m going to be president. and i’m going to defeat dream once and for all.”
tommy thought for a moment. “why do you think they fear him so much?”
“he’s unpredictable,” tubbo shrugged. “he’s manipulative, he’s crazy.. he’s someone you can’t quite figure out. no one understands.” tubbo brushed some of his hair out of his wide eyes to look clearly at tommy. “do you understand?”
…
“he’s seven feet tall,” wilbur spoke ominously but strongly, voice taunting, “weapons strapped along his back..” he circled his younger brother like a vulture and tommy found himself wishing he had never come to visit. “remember that day, all those years ago, when he came to visit?” tommy didn’t get to answer before wil was back in front of him, speaking, “you say you only remember him saying your name before it all faded to black.
“he knows when you’re thinking about him,” wilbur continued, tone growing more ferocious as he walked forward. every step he took, tommy took one back. fear grew in his heart. “and i bet he practically feasts on the memory of your scream that day. treasures it like your disc.” tommy hit the wall with a small yelp in surprise.
“so stop. talking. about. him.” wilbur’s eyes were furious. “if i hear again that you’re asking around about dream, i’m bringing philza into it. and i’ll rethink the vice presidency thing we talked about.” then wilbur walked away, leaving tommy to gulp with fear. he called back one final, “we don’t talk about dream.”
…
“i don’t know much,” niki offered quietly, shifting her bread basket on her arm. “once he told me he’d kill my fox, and the next day it was dead.” she shook her head, continuing her walk that tommy had interrupted. “i wouldn’t go around asking about him, tommy. nothing good can come from it.”
tommy frowned.
…
“dream?” badboyhalo sounded, looking taken aback by the younger boy’s question. “i never really liked him.. we were okay, kind of, until a few rougher things happened..” bad shook his head, finally looking into tommy’s eyes. “last time i saw him, he said i would end up drunk and crazy with a beer gut if i continued to follow the egg. and i’ve already got body image issues, so..” bad shrugged with a wave. “wouldn’t trust him. that’s what i tell myself.”
tommy watched with wide, slightly-amused eyes as bad walked away.
…
“he told me that my sight would disappear,” eret spoke, deep voice sending a chill down tommy’s spine as he whipped off his sunglasses, “now look at my eyes!” tommy flinched with fear at the empty orbs stared at him. then eret laughed out, offering a charming smile. “just kidding. i was born like this.”
“jesus, man..,” tommy huffed. he was often understood and appreciated eret’s humor, but it could be annoying when tommy had a goal in mind. he wanted answers, not jokes.
“i wouldn’t go around asking about dream so freely, tommy,” eret shrugged, pushing his sunglasses back onto his nose. “you never know who you can trust these days because of him--anyone could be a spy. even me.” tommy tensed for a moment, furrowing his brow skeptically as eret walked past him. “im kidding, im kidding! ..kinda.” and the man walked away and laughed, leaving tommy more annoyed than before.
...
“why are you asking that?” george spoke slowly and unsurely.
“i..,” tommy began, trailing off. he didn’t know whether or not to be honest. “i don’t know. i think im at the age where i can finally understand and know a little about him. and i want to know.”
george just frowned, looking at the grass below them. he spoke slowly and quietly, “dream was.. he was strange with me. he was protective of me for the majority of our friendship, before i realized that his idea of “protection” was just plain manipulation.” he looked up and shrugged at tommy. “he would always tell me that everything i wanted was promised to me, and would someday be mine. i felt..” he shook his head with honest shame. tommy was listening intently at this rate; this was the most open he had ever seen george. “powerful. but i think my power only really grew when i was finally away from him.
“dream is complicated,” george continued, crossing his arms. “he does things only for his own benefit. whatever you’re asking around for, you’re only going to find the same answer; dream is a terrible man who did terrible things.” george picked up the bag he had laid on the ground. “that’s just the truth.” and he walked away without saying anything else.
tommy stood in the shade for a moment as he processed.
...
it was sunset when tommy finally reached your house. he took a deep breath before heading around back, where he knew you would be lounging by this time.
“tommy?”
you were reading a book on your lit up back porch, enjoying the cool evening breeze as the sun dipped below the horizon. your eyes were on him, brows raised curiously. he coughed out, “hey, y/n. how-”
“i know why you’re here,” you cut in. he silenced himself immediately, watching as you bookmarked your book before turning looking up at him again with a solemn smile. you waved a hand to the seat across from you. “let’s talk.”
tommy slowly sank into the comfortable chair, heart beginning to beat nervously. he began, “so..” but he didn’t know where to begin, and frankly was a little embarrassed that word of his curiosity had gotten back to you. he prayed it hadn’t found wilbur again. he shook his head--this was you. the most comfortable, kind person he knew. there was no reason to freeze up now. “.. where do i start?”
you offered him a short chuckle. “let me start.” tommy nodded, turning his body toward you. “george told me you were coming, by the way.” tommy pursed his lips. “and sapnap before that.”
“yeah,” tommy coughed, rubbing his neck sheepishly. “just.. covering all of the bases, i guess.”
you nodded, not looking at him. “i don’t know what has you so curious, but..” you shrugged. “if anyone around here is going to silence that mind of yours.. it might just be me.” tommy raised his eyebrows in the slightest, but your gaze remained on the small table between your seats. “dream was the most honest with me. he, uh, told me loved me after all.”
“do you not believe it?” tommy cut in. when you looked up, he quickly added, “sorry.”
“no, you’re fine,” you assured, shaking your head at him. “i did, at one point, but.. i don’t know what i believe about him anymore.” you paused, hugging one of your knees to your chest as you spoke, “dream used to tell me that we were meant for each other. that he was the man i was supposed to be with, that i was the one of his dreams. and if i were to ever leave him..” you shook your head to yourself, busying your hands with brushing your hair out of your face. “if he ever were to be out of reach, i would realize that i could never love again.”
“he was in love with you,” tommy summarized and you pursed your lips. “but you don’t know whether it was truly love or.. i don’t know, mania?”
“yeah,” you affirmed. “i left him before sapnap and george parted. he-he wanted to lock me down, keep me caged. and i couldn’t bear it.” you stood from your seat, finally meeting eyes with tommy’s wary gaze. “i know you’ve heard it a thousand times before, but please, tommy..” your pleading gaze sent a chill down his spine. “we don’t talk about dream.”
tommy gulped and nodded. the distant bell of the hours changing broke your focus. you looked into the distant sky with a sigh, “i’ve got to get changed. i have to be at the white house in an hour.”
“the white house?” tommy questioned, rising from his own seat. “why?”
“technoblade’s coming for dinner,” you explained, heading toward your back door, “and i think wilbur’s taking it as a chance to finally set us up.” you paused in your doorway as tommy raised his eyebrows. “i’ll see you there?”
“yeah,” he nodded, voice quieter than he would have liked. you just nodded in return and disappeared inside your house.
as tommy walked away, pondering dream’s obsession for you, he couldn’t help but shiver at the feeling of being watched.
...
tommy’s mind was swirling with a million thoughts when he returned to his house. quickly, he drew out the bowl he had swept the vinyl pieces into a few days prior. he poured them out onto the table, nearly ten pieces to a puzzle he didn’t know if he was ready to piece together. but he had bought some epoxy a day prior to try.
he began to piece together the vinyl, keeping an eye on the kitchen clock.
we don’t talk about dream.
he was a nightmare!
three pieces were cleanly fitted to each other.
wouldn’t trust him. that’s what i tell myself.
dream used to tell me we were meant for each other.
it felt as if the entire house was on edge.
... and the next day it was dead.
we don’t talk about dream.
his hands were shaking as he tried the last few pieces.
practically a hurricane!
weapons strapped along his back..
the second the record was laid out, altogether at last, tommy shakily poured the epoxy along the cracks. his heart was racing, and he raked a stressed hand through his hair as he checked the clock once more. he’d have to wait for the glue-like substance to settle before he could toss the record onto a player, but he didn’t have enough time to wait for it. then, the front door slammed open.
“hey, tommy! you better get your nice shirt on, ‘cause techno is com- ing...” tommy turned to philza in absolute fear, listening as phil’s words trailed off when he spotted the disc on the table. his eyes were locked directly on the small green ring that outlined the center, jaw dropping slowly as tommy’s veins filled with horror, weakly attempted to cover the pieced disc. but the damage had already been done.
“i-i..,” tommy sputtered before the dam holding him together finally broke, and he rushed out in nearly one breath, “you sent me to the basement for techno’s gift, and i found a disc with my name on it from dream, but i broke it!, and i tried to ask around for clues but wilbur yelled at me, and karl’s furious, and i think.. dream’s after me?” the last part wasn’t meant to be so much of a question, but tommy could barely think of the inflection of his words when philza’s usually fatherly blue eyes looked so mortified.
his father took a few slow steps forward, painfully loud in the silent house.
“phil?”
philza gently pushed tommy to the side to view the cracked disc in full. he practically watched as his father’s chest filled and released with air, the expression in his eyes changing every moment as his eyes swirled with a thousand thoughts. his feathers were both literally and metaphorically ruffled.
then, the town’s bell rang in the distance and philza seemed to resolve. he glanced back at the door before to the disc.
“here’s what we’re going to do,” phil began, clearing his throat. he rushed over to grasp a plate from the cabinet. “we shut our mouths. wilbur is using tonight as a chance to finally reconnect technoblade and y/n after so many years of being on opposing sides, and we are not ruining that.” philza gently swept the drying disc onto the plate. “so for tonight, we are not thinking about dream, dream is not thinking about you, this disc does not exist, and we are one, big, happy, dream-less nation.” philza grasped lightly at tommy’s shoulders. tommy felt intensely guilty for the worry in his father’s composed orbs. “no one has to know. not as long as we keep quiet. no one has to know.” tommy nodded fearfully.
a noise at the door made them both jump in the slightest. they slowly turned their heads toward the creaking noise to see the silhouette of ranboo’s looming figure, mismatched eyes wide as he stared into the house.
“i know.”

Human GPS
Pairing: c!Technoblade x f!reader
Summary: [Dream SMP!AU] Technoblade really needs some books of mending, and you just happen to be the daughter of the village cleric.
Word Count: 3.8k
A/N: this a repost of the first ever story i posted when i first made my blog. this story takes place back when technoblade was still allied with pogtopia. i hope you like it as much as i did! <3
Technoblade blinked, his eyes squinting up at the clear, cerulean sky. It was about midday now, and the beating sun sat in the center of the sky, almost taunting him from where it hung.
If the sun is directly above me, he thought, then west must be… He frowned. Somewhere. Maybe.
He groaned and swung his legs off of Carl, the horse letting out a soft whinny as he hopped onto the ground. He had been travelling for what must have been close to an hour now, and he still hadn’t found a village. It was almost like the universe was trying to waste his time. All he wanted was to get his hands on some books of mending so he didn’t have to worry about any of his armour breaking, yet the world was sending him on a wild goose chase, anyways.
“Seriously,” he muttered, irritation gnawing away at his already dwindling patience, “how hard can it be to find just one cleric? It’s not like I’m asking to find a woodland mansion, or something.”
Letting out yet another long groan, Technoblade flipped open the pack he attached to Carl’s saddle. He pulled out a baked potato and bit in, allowing himself a few seconds of relief as he ate.
For a brief moment, he considered digging through his bag to look for a compass or—better yet—a map. But then he remembered that just prior to leaving, he had reminded himself that he was a human GPS and that “Technoblade never fails.”
He sighed. No compass, it is.
He took another bite of the potato in his hands, looking around at the terrain around him. There was a lush birch forest to his left and a barren desert on the opposite side. Just a little to his right was a river and—
Wait a second.
Technoblade froze, his jaw freezing halfway through chewing another bite of potato.
He recognized that river.
A wide grin split across his lips.
He totally knew where to find a village.
Doing his best not to choke, Technoblade stuffed the rest of the baked potato in his mouth and buckled his pack shut. With a grunt, he pulled himself back onto Carl, picking up the reins. “Like I said, Carl, who even needs a compass? I’ve got the map memorized, and my inner compass is perfectly calibrated.”
Carl looked back at him and let out an almost sarcastic sounding neigh that seemed to say, “Sure.”
Technoblade’s face rolled his eyes. He snapped the reins once, and Carl charged forward.
The human GPS never failed.
You let out an ecstatic cry as you pushed the last book in your hands onto the creaky bookshelf, stepping back to look at your work in pride. You’d been organizing the library for a little over half the day now, and you were almost finished. Each shelf was now in alphabetical order.
Dusting off your skirt, you took one last glance at the shelves before settling down at the table in the corner of the room, looking over the to-do list you had set out for yourself the night before. “Let’s see,” you hummed to yourself, “I already dusted all the tabletops, mopped the floor, and delivered that order to Mr. Hart. Now I can check ‘organize bookshelves’ off the list, too.”
You set the quill down on the table. “Meanwhile, dad’s out trading with Mrs. Lee and said he would be back soon.” You stared down at the page for a moment longer before sighing. A frown etched itself onto your features. You leaned your elbows on the oak tabletop as your gaze trailed out the church window and up at the cloudless sky.
You had lived in the village your whole life with your father, the village cleric. Everything was peaceful and you loved the familiar environment you resided in, but things had also become so… boring in the village. So bland, so dull. You can’t even remember the last time you did something fun. Sure, you were productive and made sure to help your father around his workspace the best you could, but you wanted more than this.
Please, you thought to yourself, squeezing your eyes shut in a silent prayer. Please, please, please let something new and exciting happen. At least just once in my life.
All of a sudden, you heard a distant rumbling.
You sat up straight, blinking awake from your reverie. What’s that sound?
The rumbling grew louder, and you could now recognize it as the galloping of a horse. Your thoughts were only confirmed by the loud whinny you heard right after the rumbles stopped.
You pushed your chair back, standing up from the table and walking over to the front window, crouching down to peek outside. You squinted, your eyes scanning around outside before they landed on an unfamiliar shape.
Your heart suddenly barrelled over in your chest.
Sitting atop a horse wearing diamond armour in the center of the village square was a stranger.
His back was facing you, but from what you could see of him, the first thing you noticed was the crimson robe hanging off his shoulders, cascading down his back like a scarlet waterfall. An axe was strapped to his back, tinted with a murky, violet hue. His hair was a vibrant shade of cherry blossom pink like nothing you had ever laid eyes on before, and on his head sat a golden crown encrusted with glittering gems. You wondered what his face looked like, curiosity bubbling in your chest.
Just then, he slid off his horse, landing on the ground with a small thump. He stood tall and proud, turning his head this way and that as he looked around at the houses around him, an air of regality surrounding him.
Then, he turned.
Your eyes only met for a fraction of a second before you immediately ducked down, hiding your figure from view in the window. The moment you were out of sight, you stilled, doing your best not to give yourself away.
He was handsome.
His face was calm and demure, reflecting his royal air almost perfectly, and his eyes, like his robe, were a piercing crimson red. They almost seemed to stare into your soul, laying every part of yourself bare for him to see.
He looked like a king in every sense of the word, and you just had to meet him.
Your heart was thrumming wildly in your chest as you struggled to regain your breath. You peeked over the windowsill carefully, glancing past the glass outside once more. The stranger had tied his horse to a post in the square and was walking around, glancing at the villagers here and there. Most of them seemed to be slightly wary of him—after all, it wasn’t everyday a king showed up at your doorstep. He seemed to be looking for something with the way he kept looking around him, his eyes sweeping over every inch of the village. Perhaps you could help him.
Slowly, you slid away from the windowsill and carefully clicked open the front door, stepping outside. The sun shone brilliantly on your face as you made your way toward the stranger. Once again, his back was turned to you, and you stopped a few feet behind him. Taking a deep breath, you mustered up what courage you had before speaking.
“Hello.”
The man turned at the sudden sound of your voice, his scarlet eyes piercing into yours. “Oh, hello.” His voice was deep, laced with a low rasp that sent a shiver down your spine.
Your offered him a warm smile. “Welcome to our humble village. I’m [Y/N].” You extended your hand, and he took it in a friendly handshake, smiling back.
“The name’s Technoblade.”
Your eyebrows quirked. “Technoblade,” you repeated. “That’s a unique name.”
“Thanks,” he said, jokingly adding, “I got it for my birthday.”
You giggled at that. He may look regal and intimidating, but right off the bat, it seemed that his personality was far from it. “You know what they say, a bad joke is always the best way to leave a good first impression.”
He frowned, feigning sadness. “Oh, c’mon, it wasn’t that bad.”
Your lips twitched. “Well, I laughed at it, so I’ll give you that.” His face lit up once more, and you felt your stomach churn with warmth. “Well, what brings you here?”
He gestured to the pack he had clipped to his belt. “Just looking to do a few trades, really.”
You looked at him in confusion. “A king? Trading with commoners like us?”
He blinked for a moment. “Ah, about that, I’m not really a king, per se.” He plucked his crown from off his head, tossing it casually in his hands. “The crown and robes are more for… aesthetic purposes, to say the least. I don’t really rule over my own country or anything.
Your tilted your head at him. “Where do you come from, then? I can only imagine you travelled for a while to get here.”
He shrugged. “It was kind of far, but it wasn’t a big deal, really. I never got lost.”
You raised your eyebrows at him. “Never?” you said.
“Never,” he confirmed. His grinned smugly, your heart reeling at the sight. “I’m a human GPS, if you will.”
You stifled a laugh but couldn’t hide your smile. What a dork. “Totally.”
His grin only widened. “Anyways, I’m from this place called Pogtopia.” You must have made a face at his words, because he laughed at you and god, even his laugh was pretty. “Yeah, it’s kind of a funny name, isn’t it? Well, I didn’t come up with it. My friends Tommy and Wilbur did.”
“They must be…” You looked for a good word. “…interesting people.”
He laughed. “It’s okay—you’re allowed to say they have bad taste in names.”
You giggled, your cheeks flushing in slight embarrassment. “Okay, yeah, their taste is pretty poor.” You glanced at him. “Are they the kings of your country then, since they named it?”
“Kind of. I guess you could call them kings, but they’re more like self-instated presidents, even though that kind of defeats the whole purpose of having a president.” You nodded, following along in agreement. “They’re trying to win back some land they were exiled from a while back called L’Manberg, although it was recently renamed Manberg, but there’s also Dream and his SMP, and—” He sighed, running a hand through his rosy locks. “It’s complicated. Basically, we’re sort of in the middle of this war, and I just kind of got roped into it.”
Your eyes widened in alarm. “A war?! Surely we wouldn’t get involved, right?” Your village, like many others, was a pacifist group of people, having no source of defense or battle skills to protect yourselves with. If this supposed war came all the way to your little village, all of you would surely perish.
Technoblade raised his arms in front of him, quickly shaking his head. “Oh, definitely not. You’ve got nothing to worry about, I swear.”
You pressed a hand to your chest as you let out a breath of relief. “Oh, thank goodness.” Technoblade smiled at you from the corner of your eye, amusement lacing his lips. You suddenly straightened, another thought popping into your head. “What about you, then? Aren’t you worried?”
He laughed again, though it sounded more like a cackle. “Me? Worried? Nahhh.” He swung his axe off his back, being careful to point it away from you. “I may not look like it, but I’m actually one of the most feared warriors in the land. Tommy and Wilbur basically begged me to join their side so I can help them win.” He gestured to himself. “You don’t have to believe me, but I think it’s pretty clear to see I’m pretty much a god at PVP.”
You hummed, shaking your head. “No, I believe you. You do look like you could seriously teach someone a thing or two with that axe, but I really don’t think I need to feed your ego anymore.” You smiled bemusedly. “It already seems to be quite large on its own.”
His grin dropped. “Wait, please, feed my ego, I thrive off complime—”
A giggle escaped your mouth as you waved your hand at him. “I’m kidding, I’m kidding!” Your expression grew a bit more serious. “But honestly, you’re not scared? Even a little?”
Technoblade shook his head. “Nope. A war is just a lot of fights lined up one after the other, and I’m great at winning fights. Heck, I could probably wipe out the other side in a heartbeat with what I’ve got in my arsenal. Tommy and Wilbur might just send me out by myself to do just that.”
“They would?” you said in disbelief. “Aren’t they worried for you, either?”
He snorted. “They were the ones who wanted me here to help them win, so they definitely aren’t worried.”
Your eyebrows furrowed. Well, that was no good—no good at all. Wasn’t a single person concerned for this man’s safety, not even just one? No matter how powerful he may be, this was a war you two were talking about, and wars don’t always go according to plan.
Suddenly, it hit you.
“I see,” you murmured. You raised your chin, resolve filling your veins. “Then I’ll worry for you.”
Technoblade stared at you for a long moment, stunned into silence. Panicking, you began to ramble. “You and your friends may have overwhelming confidence in you and your abilities,” you said, “but it’s still important that you recognize that sometimes things don’t go according to plan. That’s why you should worry, and if you won’t, then I’ll do it in your stead.”
When he still didn’t say anything after yet another moment, you felt embarrassment rise up in you. “I’m sorry, we just met and that was totally uncalled for of m—”
“No, no, really,” he abruptly said, shaking his head. “It’s all good. Seriously.” There was a slight pause. Then, he softly added, “Thank you. I appreciate your concern.”
His lips curled to form a smile, but this one was different from the ones he gave you before. Those ones were proud and teasing, full of mirth and some level of arrogance. But this one was softer, kinder. More genuine and real.
You liked this one more.
Still feeling slightly embarrassed from having just rambled about caring about a near stranger to his face, you quickly shifted gears. “W-Well, I should probably ask what exactly you wanted to trade for,” you said as your cheeks flushed pink. You lowered your gaze to the ground, trying to avert your eyes from his. “I can probably help you find whatever it is you need.”
Technoblade hummed. “I have a bunch of stuff with me that I can use to trade, but I’m looking for a cleric to get some mending books from.”
Your head shot up in recognition. “A cleric, you say?” Your lips curled into a small grin when he nodded. “I know just where to find him. Wait here for a minute, okay?”
As soon as he nodded his head once more, you had already taken off, bounding down the grassy path with your skirt trailing behind you. Technoblade’s gaze followed you as you rushed down the path, a pleasant warmth bubbling in the pit of stomach and he watched you run off.
Usually whenever he came to a village, the people he met were wary of him and hardly ever spoke more than the bare minimum to him. Most of them were intimidated by his appearance, others thrown off by his cockiness. And yet here you were, treating him like a friend when so many before you had done the exact opposite. You were kind, compassionate, and you saw more than just his arrogant exterior. You genuinely cared for the person he was underneath the crown and the robes. Not to mention, you were quite the sight for sore eyes.
Warmth blossomed in his chest and something fluttered in his stomach.
He was glad he came to this village.
To say your father was more than pleased to trade some books of mending for the stacks upon stacks of emeralds Technoblade had was an understatement.
“I thought you said you weren’t a king,” you said to him, your eyes nearly bulging out of your head when you saw him open his pack.
“I’m not,” Technoblade said, twirling an emerald between his fingers. “I just happen to be very wealthy.”
You shook your head at him, a smile gracing your lips. “You’re a maniac.”
He shot you a smug look. “Oh, don’t I know it.”
After he had traded for some mending books with your father, he had asked you if your village had a fletcher.
“Oh, I made a delivery to Mr. Hart earlier today,” you said. “Here, follow me.”
The trek to the other side of the village was short enough, and you were content to wait on the sides while Technoblade made some negotiations. Just then, Mrs. Lee spotted you and strode up to you.
“Good afternoon, [Y/N],” she greeted, her lips tilting into a familiar gentle smile.
“Hello, Mrs. Lee!” you chirped happily, turning to face her. “Thank you for the pumpkins, earlier today! I’ll be sure to give you some of the pumpkin pie I bake tomorrow.”
“Why, there’s no need for you to do that, dear.” She leaned close to your ear to whisper, “You know you’re my favourite of the youngins here.”
You blushed. “You know that’s not true.”
She held a finger to her lips. “It’s our little secret, alright?” She looked over your shoulder at Technoblade, who was still debating with Mr. Hart. “Looks like you’ve become acquainted with our visitor, haven’t you, dear?”
Your blush deepened. “Y-Yes! I have. His name is Technoblade and he comes from a country called Pogtopia. He traded for some books with my father just now.”
Mrs. Lee wrinkled her nose. “Weird name, the both of them, but never mind that.” She smirked at you, glancing just behind you. “He’s quite the looker, isn’t he?”
Your face exploded like a bright red tomato. “I-I, um, he’s. Um.” You took a deep breath and fanned your face, lowering your voice. “He’s handsome.”
Her smirk only grew larger. “I hope the two of you become even more acquainted then,” she said cryptically, patting your shoulder. “I’ll be on my way now, but do let me know how it goes, okay?”
You nodded dutifully, too embarrassed to say anything else. Mrs. Lee turned away and continued her way down the grassy path, smiling to herself.
If only you had seen the way he had looked at you.
Hours had passed since Technoblade had first arrived in the village, and the sun was just beginning to set. The two of you had visited just about every working person in the village, chatting away as Technoblade traded for whatever he needed from each person you two saw.
The two of you learned a lot about each other in the time you spent together. You learned that Technoblade wasn’t a huge fan of government and much preferred anarchy. He learned that you longed for something much more than your normal life in the village, but you had yet to discover what it was you wanted to do. You learned that he owned a dog named Floof. He learned the location of your favourite spot in the village. By the end of the day, it felt like you two had known each other for ages.
You secretly hoped that he would stay, but you knew that he couldn’t. The village wasn’t his home, after all.
You stood nearby as Technoblade strapped his pack back onto Carl’s saddle, chewing the inside of your lip. He climbed onto Carl, securing his axe on his back and picking up the reins in his hands. “Well, [Y/N],” he said, a hint of disappointment tinging his voice, “it looks like this is goodbye.”
“I guess so,” you murmured sadly, casting your gaze down at your feet. You had only known him for so long, but an overwhelming sense of loss filled you knowing that Technoblade was leaving and may very well never return. He was funny with his dry, dorky sense of humour and charming with his sharp grins and deep voice.
You weren’t sure you were quite ready to let go just yet.
“Um,” you spoke up, your voice cracking a little, “will you…” You peeked up at him, nervously biting the inside of your cheek as you fiddled with your fingers. “Will you ever come back?”
Something in Technoblade’s chest seized at the shy look on your face, your cheeks rosy and your gaze darting back and forth between his eyes and the ground. While he had originally only come in search of this village to trade with a cleric, he supposed he might always need more mending books in the future. Not to mention, he would also get to see you.
He smiled, letting out a soft laugh. “Yeah,” he said, “I’ll be back, so wait up for me, yeah?”
Your eyes lit up and an elated grin spread across your face. “I-I will!”
He chuckled at your giddiness, his own heart beating wildly against his rib cage. “Good.”
Sharing one last look with you, he snapped his reins and held on tight as Carl dashed forward, his gaze trailing behind him as he watched you wave your arms frantically at him. He couldn’t help but crack a smile at your enthusiasm, raising his arm to wave back at you himself. He kept waving until he could no longer see you, and only then did he face forward to find his way home.
The journey back was significantly shorter than the trip to the village, and before he knew it, he was tying Carl to his usual fence post. He was a human GPS, after all. How else would he have found the village—and you—with so much ease?
He tilted his head up, looking up at the rising moon in the east. Now he knew that the village (and you, his heart helpfully supplied once more) lay to the west, just beyond the birch forest, desert, and river. Above him, he could make out the shapes of a handful of constellations, the stars twinkling and winking down at him from space. He wondered if you were looking up at the same starry sky as him. He wondered if your stomach was full of butterflies, too.
“So,” he mused to himself aloud, his heart thump-thump-thumping in his chest, “[Y/N], huh?”
He was definitely going back.

Going to School with Ranboo!|| 📌
[i was going to answer this but i was a big dummy dum dum and accidentally deleted the ask bUT I REMEMBERED YOU DEAR ANON]
irl / in-game
Genre| fluff and (minor) angst
h e a d-c a n n o n s||
Sypnosis|
You and Ranboo go to school together, so have some scenarios and thoughts about it!!
Artist| grapeichie on twitter!!
warnings| bullying, stress, swearing
Note: you are a streamer in this!! You are also in the SMP!
optional platonic or romantic!!
- so going to school with Ranboo is both amazing and weird. You two have tons of stories of the dumb shit that happened there.
- Nobody will ever find Y/N and Ranboo far apart, even if you guys dont share classes one of you will randomly appear and at this point no one questions it
- Both of you meeting up at eachothers classroom/locker to walk together to your next destination
- Both of you helping eachother with schoolwork, Ranboo would totally tutor you in any subject you struggle with. Both of you go to his house but you two end up getting bored, so he does a Facecam stream with you in the background vibing. (It was so much fun)
- You guys are both the teacher’s favorites and least favorites. You both add so much life to the school but thats the exact problem.
- Y/N: haha look at that high waisted man he got feminine hips!!
Ranboo: NOOOO THATS THE THING HE’S SENSITIVE ABOUT
That Poor Teacher:
- I can totally imagine some kids in your school being invested in the SMP and both of you just nervously sweat in the background. Bonus points if ya’ll’s friends are into it so its just absolute panic
- You trying to help him not be awkward, especially when it comes to talking to new people. I can totally see like a new girl trying to talk to him and he just panics, so you have to step in and explain and help the poor boy out.
- You two are like,, inseparable. Like literally rarely does anyone see you guys apart. So this kinda urks some people who have crushes on him, or literally just your stereotypical bully.
- So one day while you we’re grabbing things for your next class, someone slammed against the locker next to yours, slamming yours shut in the process.
“Well well well, if it isnt the clingy one. Im surprised your not with that dork, you two practically don’t function without the other.” The guy snickered, leaning forward directly in Y/N’s face.
“And how is that any of your concern? And why does it matter?” Y/N said, standing straight up staring at the guy. “Because your fucking pathetic, thats why. Your useless without him and both of us know it.” He spat, pushing Y/N to the floor with a thud, they’re books crashing to the ground around them. Snickers could be heard from around them, as well as gasps and ‘oh-no’s’.
“Awww whatcha gonna do now, freak? You gonna go cry to that loser? Because i have a better idea. Your gonna shut up, and if not, he gets hurt.” The boy said, picking Y/N up by the collar of they’re shirt, and soon slamming them back into the lockers. All he did was laugh and walk away, muttering “pathetic, good for nothing freak.”
- You went home by yourself that day, usually Ranboo walks you home so you two can hangout, but you were nowhere to be seen. This went on for 2 weeks, and you practically avoided him at all costs, not wanting him to get hurt.
- But when he walked into school one day and saw Y/N being harassed by a group of people, he surely wasn’t the one hurt.
“Awww, cant move?” One said, twisting Y/N’s wrist even more, bruising they’re arm as they whimpered in pain. “Awww i think they’re gonna cry!!” Someone else chimmed in, one girl quickly said “better take a picture of this before the moments gone.” As she giggled, snapping a photo of you in the middle of being bullied.
“Delete it, and leave.” Ranboo said, looking down at the three who were currently tormenting you. You looked so sad yet happy, but you knew what was about to happen. “I thought i fucking told you not to tell him, guess your getting it.” The guy said, kicking your stomach and slamming you against the lockers.
You never in your wildest dreams expected Ranboo to punch someone, he was so sweet and charismatic, very passive and neutral. But now, your bully laid on the floor, a bloody nose, and Ranboo towering over him. “Dont. Touch. Them.” Ranboo snarled, leaning down and looking at the bully directly in the eyes.
- A fight soon broke out, leaving one guy with a black eye, bloody nose and a bruised arm and shoulder. Ranboo got suspended, but you left with him, not wanting to be at school and instead with him.
- While walking home he stopped, pulled off his white and black hoodie, put it on you, and soon enveloped you in a hug. Y/N return the favor, and all he said shakily was ‘i love you’
- God no one ever fucked with Y/N again everyone was scared spineless
- The entire SMP had a ‘bruh’ moment when you two told them. Of course Techno was very happy about Ranboo beating some kids up.
- But like back to happy stuff,,
- Kahoot? Idk if you guys play it in school but i do, and both you and Ranboo are such a power duo in Kahoot games
- Trading each others lunch because thats what duo’s like you two do, share with the homies
- Both of you being referees in sports because if other wise someone is going to accidentally get hurt
- You having to walk Ranboo to the nurses office after he got hit in the face with a basketball.
- The librarian does not like the fact you two cannot be quiet. You both are constantly cracking up and can never keep it down
- I know for a FACT one of you got your hands on the teacher’s computer, and i know one of you are playing memes during class while your Teacher is screeching
- All your teachers think both of you are cheating because you have synced brains and get every single answer the exact. same.
- Pulling some kind of huge end of the year prank
- Both of you speaking in zoomer language and not even your classmates have any idea what your saying
- I can see both of you accidentally writing/typing ‘pog’ into a essay/class assignment and your teacher being VERY confused
- Blasting fan-made songs about both of your guys characters and everyone liking them, and both of you are just giggling and smiling because they dont know
- Your friend group see you two doing something and they’re just like “ah shit, here we go again”
- Both of you going to school events only to ensue chaos and be idiots
- On the first day one of you getting lost and the other having to go fetch the other one
- Both of you crashing at the others house to study but it probably didnt go well
- You two are honestly just encased in your own little shared bubble, just vibing and being yourselves
- i feel like this is going on forever and most of it was just angst so I’ll go ahead and cut this off lol
a/n: TWO UPLOADS IN ONE DAY??? CALL ME GO-
Okay but in all seriousness i hope this was not total shit and actually pleasant to read. Idk i just feel like this bad
Anyways I promise I’ll get to working on pt. 2 of dad wilbur but i have some other requests i need to work on. But in the meantime simp for Ranboo and Wilbur okay bye

The Prison Stream
(This portion of the recap will be more detailed than normal since it’s one long conversation and there are many important lines here, including a couple that were hard to hear during the stream)
---
- Tommy’s stream starts with him making sounds and singing “Roadtrip.” Dream tells him to stop, he’s trying to write a book.
Tommy: “What are you writing, Dream? What are you writing?”
Dream: “None of your business.”
- There’s a little gray and white cat sat on the chest. Tommy says it’s annoying.
Dream: “No he’s not...he’s actually the best thing that’s happened to us.”
Tommy: (Trying to lead the cat away) “Come with me, come with me...you know what I named him, don’t you? Pussboy, Pussboy!”
- The cat returns to its spot on the chest
Tommy: “Oh, Pussboy, you are so ugly.”
Dream: “C’mon, you’re being mean!”
(Tommy punches the cat)
Dream: “Tommy! Stop!”
- Tommy starts singing “Roadtrip” in autotune. Dream tells Tommy that if he can be quiet, he’ll give Tommy more potatoes.
Dream: “I think that...the cat is the best thing that’s happened to us.”
- Sam joins the call to say hello and ask how it’s been going. He’s come to drop more food into the cell. Tommy also picks up a new clock.
- Tommy asks to be let out, but Sam says he still hasn’t found out what the security issue is. Dream asks how long Tommy will be in here for. Potentially for a while, but not forever.
- Tommy protests about how bad the prison has been. He threatens to get lawyers on Sam, he knows Big Law.
Tommy: "Sam...you know I don’t deal very well in...close quarters situations for a long time, Sam. Sam, you remember when you visited me in exile, Sam? Alright, this is worse than that, Sam...let me out. I don’t like this. Let. Me. Out. Sam.”
- Sam insists he’s doing the best he can and leaves.
- Dream tries to say that it’s not that bad. He’s been in there for a long time, but now it’s better! Tommy writes a book to Dream, signs it and throws it to him.
Dream: “I have company. I have a cat -- I mean, technically it’s not my cat, technically it’s your cat, but still! It’s just as good, keeps me company when I write and everything, we talk sometimes -- ‘cause you’re annoying a lot of the time--”
- Dream throws away the clock in the lava, saying they don’t need it. Tommy punches the cat again.
Dream: “Tommy, hear me out, hear me out...what if...we get out together, okay?”
- Tommy is not a fan of the idea, Dream shouldn’t be let out too. He goes over to the cat and shouts at it for being in his spot. He punches Pussboy twice.
Dream: “Tommy...TOMMY, STOP!”
Tommy: “Excuse me! Come this way, come this way, excuse me Dream I’m trying to right-click Pussboy--”
(Dream moves to get in front of the cat)
Dream: “Tommy.”
Tommy: “Come here, come here! Do you like this cat, Dream?”
Dream: “Yes, I do.”
Tommy: “Why?”
Dream: “Because he -- Tommy, he keeps me company --”
(Tommy punches Pussboy again and leads him towards the lava)
Tommy: “Pussboy, this way. Pussboy, this way. Let me show you the light--”
Dream: “He’s probably low, he’s probably low!”
Tommy: “Oh what, you love him? Do you love him? Do you love him?”
Dream: “Yes, I do...Tommy, he’s made things better in here -- okay listen! When you leave, can you sit him down and leave him here?”
(Tommy goes over and punches Pussboy again. He tries to lead Pussboy away again, but when the cat doesn’t come he punches Pussboy twice more, killing him)
Tommy: “Yeah. And that’s what happens when you love something, bitch.”
...
Tommy: “See, now when I leave, when I leave, you’ll have nothing! ‘Cause you are lonely, and you’re m-m-manipulative, you’re a fuckin’ twat, and I mean that.”
Dream: “Tommy...I’m gonna get out! And you just motivated me -- you motivated me all the time, you just -- that was hope, right? The cat was hope -- the cat was hope that I could live a nice life in here--”
Tommy: “And now it’s dead, now it’s dead.”
- Dream insists that he’ll get out, and when he does, he’ll get his revenge on everyone who wronged him. Tommy asks if he’d kill Tubbo.
- The subject goes back to Dream’s plan of escape.
Dream: “I have a plan. And the thing is, Awesamdude’s never gonna believe you that I have a plan because he thinks it’s unbreakable, unescapable--”
“I have a plan. And you know, there’s a certain someone who owes me a favor, but -- that might be a part of it, but...I do have a plan.”
- They argue about the conditions of the prison again.
Dream: “I’ve been in here a for hundred times longer than you, and you sit there trying to tell me that it’s so horrible, that it’s so bad -- yeah, it was! But guess what, we have each other to talk to, and we had a cat until you fucking killed it!”
Tommy: “Dream...Dream, and listen to this -- fucking engrave this on you, write this into your arms, Dream...You don’t have me. You’ll never have me. We don’t have each other, alright? I am me, and you are this fuckin’ loser who goes around manipulating people, lying to get what he wants. You are a fuckin’ no one, man, alright? And when I’m going to leave here, you’re not! You might have a favor -- you think, who is it, Technoblade’s gonna be able to come in here to let you out -- Technoblade, he doesn’t like governments, but he likes self gain! You think he wants to piss off the owner of the most POWERFUL building on the entire server, just so that he can get a video that BARELY scrapes the five million view mark -- NO, Dream, alright? You’re a fuckin’ asshole, you’re deluded, you’re delusional, and I fuckin’ hate you.”
Dream: “Okay...yeah, but I have something Techno would want, so...it means knowledge, alright?”
- Dream says that even when he’s in here, he’s more powerful than Tommy outside. Tommy replies that if he wanted to, he could kill Dream right now. The only reason he doesn’t is because they need the revive book.
- Dream says that he will never use the revive book to help Tommy or his friends. Ever.
Dream: “So kill me. Go ahead, come on.”
- When if Tubbo dies, Dream says, they’ll come begging for Tubbo to be revived, and Dream will ask to be let out.
- Tommy then says that this isn’t worse than exile, because in exile, Tommy thought Dream had all the power, and Tommy knows something...he thinks the revive book isn’t real. Jschlatt was just a drunk, why would he have this book?
Dream: “Jschlatt gave me the book -- why else would I switch to Jschlatt’s side?!”
...
“I’m not lying! Jschlatt gave me a revive book after...before he died....because...he said--” (he cuts off here)
- Dream asks why he would be lying about that.
Tommy: “You’re a liar! You’re a liar, and really, through your Netherite armor and skin, I look at you and you know what I see? I see a sad little man who’s insecure about the fact that this server has gotten so far ahead of him that his only little glimpse of power in this world is gone. And I see an insecure, sad little man. So fuck off. You stupid green lad.”
Dream: “Your life...is literally in my hands. Does that piss you off? Does that make you mad? Does that make you so mad that I -- if you kill me -- I MIGHT AS WELL BE A GOD, TOMMY! YOU CAN’T KILL ME, AND I CAN KILL YOU! So what does it mean, that you can’t kill me because of the revive book -- what does that mean? If you can’t kill me, does that make me some kind of god?”
Tommy: “No Dream. I could kill you right now. If I wanted to.”
Dream: “Okay. But you won’t. But you won’t! I could kill you if I wanted to! I could kill you right now, actually.”
...
Tommy: “I don’t think this revive book is real. Schlatt? He’s fuckin’ dead. I’ve seen his grave! His grave is real, his corpse is there!”
Dream: “Okay...Why don’t you go see him then?”
Tommy: “NO -- stop it stop it stop it st--”
--- ---
CANON DEATH: TOMMY
Cause: Punched to death
--- ---
End of stream.
---
- Tubbo, Ranboo and Jack see Tommy’s death message in game chat.
- They go to the prison and Sam is there to tell them what happened. Sam couldn’t get there in time. He didn’t think Dream would actually kill him. They’re all in shock.
- Tubbo and Ranboo think Tommy will be back. There’s no way he’s actually dead, right?
- Jack Manifold is in celebration. He got what he wanted! He thought Dream would want Tommy alive, and killing Tommy himself would be an extra jab in the chest for Dream, but apparently not? And now he has a hotel!
- He decides to check on Tubbo and makes sure he’s okay.
- Jack walks down to the shore and looks up at the prison, and...it hits him. He’s spent months plotting to kill Tommy. Jack realizes his victory feels hollow. Even now, Tommy and Dream have managed to take away this from him.
- Of Ze Haus, he says that this place no longer means anything to him. He gets a flint and steel and sets it alight, watching it burn.
- He passes by Tommy’s house and finds Ranboo planting red and white flowers outside.
- Jack switches into his L’manburg uniform and walks along the Prime Path.
Jack: “I remember the day I joined the server. The day after the first war. L’manburg was still a big hole, and we built it up. And Tommy invited me to join. And I betrayed him (laughs), so really this has all come full circle.”
“Maybe I was always really just upset because I always felt like he cared more about the discs than...anyone. And I guess I just enjoyed it when we were friends...and...I’ve not really had any friends...since...then, really. Never really wanted any.”
- Jack later speaks with Foolish and tells him that Tommy’s never coming back from prison. Foolish didn’t know him too well, but he’s still a bit sad. When anyone passes, it’s sad.
- Jack heads back out into the wilderness, wandering to the beach area at the edge of the forest where Quackity had his argument with Badboyhalo a while back. There’s something just beyond the hill.
- Quackity meets him there and escorts him back home, telling him he was heading too close to something, could have gotten “a nice view of it.”
- He’s been thinking of writing up a draft of their contract. He also sees the new McPuffy’s.
- Jack tells Quackity that Tommy’s not in the prison anymore. Quackity says they need to talk to him and make sure Jack keeps his hotel. As the rain pours, Jack tells him. Tommy didn’t make it.
- Quackity and Jack have a moment in front of Tommy’s house. Though upset, Quackity says it’s time to get back to work.
Quackity: “Jack...don’t let this affect business. The train doesn’t stop.”
Jack: “No, it only goes faster.”
- Jack also speaks with Antfrost. Antfrost gives his condolences, and says he’ll put together a celebration “of life.”
Ant: “Bad and Sam will be happy...to attend, of course!”
- Afterwards, Jack heads down into Karls nightclub and ends stream there.
- Connor speaks with Sam Nook at the hotel.
- Bad meets Ant at the Holy Land. Ant asks if the church would be a good place for a celebration. Ant sits Bad down to tell him. Bad is overjoyed.
- Bad says that now, they don’t even have to do any preparations:
They can move into the Final Stage.
- They get milk for the cake and decide to throw the party at Tommy’s house!
- They meet with Sam at the prison entrance. He sounds dejected.
Sam: “I didn’t think Dream would ever actually...try and kill him”
Bad: (laughs) “Is this the same Dream we’re talking about? It’s Dream, Sam.”
Sam: “I mean...Dream had...I thought I had...broken the will out of him, to do something like that. But he...he did.”
- He says they need to find out what it was -- he wandered around the prison several times and couldn’t find any sign that someone had done something.
- Ant and Bad try to reassure Sam that Tommy signed the waivers, he went to see Dream, and Sam shouldn’t blame himself. Sam doesn’t see it that way.
- They say they’ll talk to Sam later and leave the prison. They see Sam Nook at the hotel. Sam is excited about the new upgrades for the hotel! Tommy will be so excited to see them!
- They return to Tommy’s house and speak with Punz as they make a party floor and sing the Crab Rave song in dudududus.
- Meanwhile, Captain Puffy is grieving, feeling like she failed Tommy. As she logs on, Bad and Ant decide that Puffy might want to join them for the party!
- Punz meets them there, and they tell him that Tommy’s dead. Punz isn’t sure how he feels, it’s bittersweet.
- Puffy arrives and angrily tells them to leave. What’s wrong with them?!
- The Eggpire sees Sam Nook at the hotel and goes up the floors to find a place to party. Puffy comes up and tells them to find another place to party. They argue again.
- Foolish arrives to visit his room in the hotel. Puffy leaves them. They quarrel about who has the room for the night.
- Puffy mines down the Eggpire’s meeting room. She’s noticed that being a hero hasn’t worked. Sparing people, being merciful, it hasn’t worked. She might need a change of perspective.
- The Eggpire decides to visit the Egg and break the news to it. They see the wreckage, but Puffy is in the Nether by the time they get there.
- Puffy visits Logsted.
- The Eggpire goes down to the Egg Room and finds the pathway blocked up with obsidian...is this why the Vines have been slower to grow lately?
- They break the barrier and find the Egg drenched in water. They wake up the Egg and it speaks.
“This world is mine. It belongs to me.”
“No no no, I know, but we’ve got something to tell you!”
“I see all...I...am...all...”
“Oh so you--”
“I know all.”
“You know then! Guess -- well, we’ll tell you anyway in case you don’t know -- but guess what? Tommy’s dead! Dream -- the green guy, you met him -- killed him in the prison! I guess Tommy got stuck there, and Dream killed him! Are you happy?"
“Feed me...I require nourishment.”
“No no no, don’t worry -- that’s coming soon! We’ll take care of that! We’re already gonna begin the preparations, right guys? Yeah, we’re gonna begin the preparations, and we’ll send out the invitations, we’ll let everyone know...and the final stage can commence! This is wonderful!”
- Once on the surface, Bad announces that with a little more preparation, they’ll all get exactly what they want. The final stage is about to commence.
The day of celebrations, the day they’ve been preparing for, the day the Egg has been preparing for, is about to happen...
- Bad goes down to the Egg Room one last time and stands at the Egg to give a final speech.
“Everything leading up to this point, EVERYTHING, all the way going back to the discovery of this...beautiful, luxurious Egg, okay...we had it all planned. As soon as we found it, we knew what was gonna happen. We knew the objective...”
“We may have forgotten what it was, forgotten the ultimate goal as soon as we boxed the Egg up in obsidian. But guess what -- that didn’t stop the Egg! Boxing it up only made it STRONGER, and LARGER, and more powerful! And the Egg’s been storing up that energy, okay? You may have been thinking the Vines have not been spreading...but that’s because we haven’t WANTED them to spread. We have been working, storing energy, storing power...in preparation for the final plan. The final objective. And there were only a couple people getting in the way. But guess what? One of the biggest obstacles -- Tommy -- is no longer in the way...now that he’s not in the way, we can commence with the final stage...the final party...before it all comes to a conclusion...”
“Brace yourselves...everybody on this server, prepare. Anyone who is anti-Egg...you guys better get ready, because we know who you are. And at the end of the day, the Egg is gonna be victorious. And there’s nothing ANYBODY can do to stop it.”
“Good luck.”

Had an idea for a fic I’m never going to write. So Empires SMP has a bad ending for the rulers, and Gem and Pearl decide to move on without their memories and end up in Hermitcraft. They’re at peace but weighed down by something they don’t know. And then Gem sees Fwip. Maximum angst potential of either her remembering everything right then or remembering nothing and Fwip trying to convince her they know each other. “Do I know you?”’s are always heartbreaking
You did this to me. XD
Disclaimers: I don't know how to write fWhip yet, so he's prolly at least a little OCC. Also, we're gonna pretend that timelines are ours to do as we please with, and say that Empires has ended several months prior to MCC17. Just. Because. Wibbly-wobbly.
Anyway here, have some Whizbang sibs content. :D
____________________
Sometimes it was little things. Sometimes the little things didn’t feel so… little.
Like when Gem held the Tegg in her hands, the void-dark shell rough and cold under her fingers, and was unsettled by how… lifeless it felt. It would hatch if put in the right circumstances, she knew, the egg wasn’t dead. But something in her heart quickened with undefined panic at the idea that it might not hatch, and something else… mourned? That she couldn’t feel the life inside?
She shook her head and set the egg down with hands that only trembled a little.
She knew why these phantom feelings were chasing her heart, she just didn’t know what lay underneath that foggy surface of hidden memories.
And she didn’t want to.
They’d agreed.
So she hid the Tegg, and she laughed when it was found, and the idea that there ought to be anything more to a dragon’s egg slowly faded into the back of her mind, gathering dust on the shelves of other forgotten things.
Sometimes it was the big things. Things that shouldn’t have seemed so inconsequential.
Like when she fell while mining and died with her items scattered across the bottom of a ravine, and she woke with a gasp in her own bed.
And when it happened again, on a day when she missed seeing a creeper until too late. And again, falling from the top of her build. And death just… didn’t matter much. Or enough. Or at all. It felt like it should matter, somehow — she knew it didn’t, she knew respawn was waiting, she knew there were no real consequences in this world for death.
And yet on some level each respawn felt like a failure. Her bones ached with the sense that she’d missed something, some detail that would have saved them all—
But they didn’t need saving. The hermits were fine. It was fine. This wasn’t a defeat, or a loss, or a reason for an ally to potentially lose something as well, or for an enemy to claim victory over you. There were no enemies here. No allies, either, really. They were all friends.
It was fine.
And with each respawn, it hurt a little less, and felt a little bit more like freedom.
~*~
The MCC lobby was brilliantly-colored and smelled of junk food, hot concrete, and salty wind from the sea that swirled somewhere miles below them. fWhip took in a deep breath and his face split into a grin — a grin that had been a little… lacking, recently. He’d done a lot to distance himself from the darkness they’d fled, but…
Well. A day playing insane games with friends and strangers alike would be just the thing. A much-needed break.
He paced back and forth just inside the main gates, watching the other competitors bounce around and shout back and forth — insults, greetings, questions, challenges — it was a cacophony of noise and color, and its sandpaper-rough edges of chaos smoothed away another layer of the angry burrs in his mind.
He caught a glimpse of something bright green through the crowd, and stood on tiptoe to see — yes! Another one of his teammates, finally heading over to their agreed meeting point. He lost them in the crowd for a moment, but then saw the ginger hair (so much like his own) and a smiling face beneath small, dainty antlers.
Gem.
He didn’t expect the dagger of pain that went through him at the sight of her face, nor that the way her eyes lit up when she spotted him would sooth away some of that same pain.
“Gem!” he shouted. “Hey — over here!”
She waved, and dodged a gaggle of cyan- and red-clad players shoving each other goodnaturedly across the courtyard.
“Hey, fWhip!” she called as she neared him. She looked… happy, he thought. He didn’t see the shadows under her eyes that he’d expected, and she was freckled and tanned instead of the pale, cloaked figure he remembered.
“Hermitcraft’s been good to you,” he said, grabbing her in a one-armed shoulder hug.
To his surprise, she tensed a little — as if surprised — before returning the hug.
“Yeah, yeah,” she agreed. “The hermits are great.” Then, stepping back, she tilted her head at him. “So — long time, no see. What’ve you been up to?”
He shrugged, leaning back against the bright-red concrete wall. “Oh. You know. Lots of building, some exploring… been thinkin’ about checking out one of those new snapshots people are talking about.” He examined her. “You, ah… heard from any of the others lately?”
Something like a shadow chased across her face, but Gem gave him a slightly confused smile. “The others?”
“Scott, or Sausage, or Katherine…” There was no comprehension in her expression, and fWhip’s heart constricted. “I mean, you haven’t even messaged me in months.”
“I… I didn’t realize I should have…?” Gem crossed her arms over her chest, rubbing at her upper arm as if she’d gotten a chill. “I mean, we haven’t chatted much since XLife — I was glad to see a familiar face for my first MCC, but it’s not like we’re… ya know. Besties or anything — no offense, of course.”
If she’d tossed him off the edge of the lobby island into the void, it might have shocked him less.
“Gem, I—” he shook his head. “You were my… I was your brother? I know that’s not the same as ‘besties’ but… that kinda hurts, I won’t lie.”
Now she did go pale. And still.
“I…” she stopped, her voice dying away amidst the chaos. “fWhip, I don’t… know what you’re talking about.”
fWhip froze. “You what?” He stepped forward and gripped her by the shoulders. “Gem, are you okay? Did they — did the hermits do something to you?”
“What? No — don’t be ridiculous.” She tugged out of his grasp but didn’t move away. “The hermits are amazing and would never do anything to hurt me. Not like—” Gem’s eyes snapped up to lock on his, and she frowned, distressed. “fWhip… what’s going on?”
She’d forgotten. He didn’t know how — repressing the trauma? Magic? Knowing Gem, it was probably the latter… because of the former.
“We — Empires,” he said, fumbling for words. “You and I were allies. Siblings, even. And there was a demon, and the dragon egg—”
Gem grabbed his arm. “The egg!” she exclaimed. “I knew there was something—”
He could see the moment she remembered. And then the moment she chose not to.
“There’s something sad there,” she said, her voice nearly lost in the noise of the crowd. Her gaze flicked back and forth between his eyes, pleading. “Something… lost. And I don’t want to be lost, fWhip.”
He started to argue with her, and then paused.
What good did remembering do any of them? What good had it done him? What was the point of the sleepless nights, wondering what he could have done differently? The nightmares where he relived every mistake and had to watch their failures and defeat over and over again? The fact that he still shied away from shadows, and that the MCC world was the safest he’d felt in months?
“No,” he said slowly, even though it felt like he was letting a piece of himself slip away. He’d missed having a sister. But what were brothers for, if not for things like this? “No, you don’t need to be lost, Gem. If you ever want to come back, I’ll be here but… it’s okay if it’s not today. Or—” he swallowed, but pushed the words out anyway. “Or ever.”
A glint of something that could have been gratitude or could have been a tear glittered in her gaze for just a moment — and then there were other voices, and the boisterous greeting of Jimmy and Quig, and they stepped apart, each plastering a grin on their faces to welcome their teammates.
fWhip couldn’t help but glance at Gem as she greeted Jimmy, but there was no recognition of the Codfather on her face, and Jimmy, he knew, was content to let the past lie. It didn’t take away the sting of loss — or the slight bitterness that tanged in the back of his throat, that Gem could forget and move on, and he… he couldn’t. Not yet.
But she seemed happy. Wasn’t that enough?
It could be. For now. For today.
A voice over the PA system urged them to head into the starting area, and fWhip followed his team up the path, merging with the other players. He almost didn’t notice Gem slipping her hand into his, until she squeezed it gently.
He looked down at her, and she offered him a smile.
“We’ll talk later, maybe?” she said.
It was a start.
“Sure,” he said. “But first, we gotta win this thing. Grab you a win for your first MCC, right?”
Gem laughed. “Sure, wFhip,” she said. “Sure.”

And you know what was the saddest part about c!Tommy dying in that damn prison? He died without ever letting out his burdens. Canonically only c!Sam knows what really happened to c!Tommy back in exile. No one else will ever know unless c!Sam says something. People in the SMP will have this corrupt opinion about c!Tommy because no one will ever know what happened during that time. He is gonna be remembered as a selfish child that initiated all these big wars out of his own greed. His sacrifices will be overlooked as if they meant absolutely nothing and that makes me unbelievably sad. Because that brave child gave his life, his priced possessions and his youth for a nation that never cared about him, for people who looked down on him and resented him. Only to brutally die from the hands of his own abuser. He was locked for several days with the man who caused him his biggest traumas. I believe we can all agreed that no matter what your opinion was for c!Tommy, he deserved so much better than this. o7

c!JackManifold x gn!Reader - Spiritual
Genre: Angst, sad, /rom
Warnings: Mentioned character death, sad
Anon asked: first of all YESSSSSS i dont see enough jack manifold on here he is so S tier. secondly, can i just request angsty stuff with jack having an s/o but they pass away during the manburg war. then later on when jack comes back from death and starts his villain arc they just show up out of nowhere as a ghost, like ghostbur but they show up way later then he did. the only person they can remember is jack. basically jack with a ghost s/o.
Hello!! I completely agree. I started writing these bc I could not find anything on some of the members!! I'm on an angst arc so you are in luck. I wrote this loosely based on information I got from the Dream SMP wiki, so not too accurate but not too bad. Here it is, I hope you enjoy <3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Jack! Don't let them get away, Wilbur's orders!" You yelled before taking off after the duo going into the woods.
"Y/N! Be careful, you're at risk, remember!" You ignored him, focusing on Sapanp; Dream had split off, likely to lead Jack in another direction.
You were tired of it. Tired of all the crap that Dream and Pogtopia had put you and Jack through. This was your time to get revenge. Eventually, Sapnap was trapped against a large mountain, you staring him down, his chances of escape slim.
"I've been waiting for this." You sneered at him. There was a glint in his eye, then a sharp pain in the back of your head. You hit the ground with a grunt, the pain spreading through your body.
"Should've listened to Jack." Dream snickered. With two final swings, you were done for. The pain spread through you on a deeper level. This wasn't the same as losing your first and second lives; this was harsher, more painful. It wasn't just your life that was draining but also your soul tearing away from you.
"Y/N!" Jack fell beside you. Dream and Sapnap were long gone, nowhere to be seen. Jack held you against him, tears running down his cheeks.
"I'm so so sorry, love. This is all my fault." He sobbed out. You reached weakly to wipe his tear, cupping his cheek.
"Jack, this is not your fault, okay? Do you understand?" He nodded slowly.
"I have to go, but I love you, Jack Manifold. I love you for infinity."
He grabbed your hand, squeezing it close to his chest, whispering, "I love you Y/N, till the end of time." With that, you took your last breath, your eyes closed, and you disappeared from Jack's arms, leaving behind only your armor, a potion, and your ax. The yelp and screams he let out that day haunted the forest themselves. His person, gone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[ Two years later ]
"Don't worry about it, we'll get him next time, alright?" Niki tried to comfort Jack. Their plan to finally get rid of Tommy had failed disastrously. Jack was pissed, fuming that something that had been so perfectly planned could go so wrong.
"I know, but we had it set up, how did it go so wrong? It doesn't make sense." Jack rubbed his head.
Niki stopped walking and faced him. "Look, it failed but that's alright because we are going to have way more chances to do what we really need to do. So stop whining and just think about the next plan, alright?"
Jack looked at her and smiled, nodding in response. Niki had been the most supportive one of Jack ever since your death. She had been the only one that could get him out of the woods and into Jack and your shared home. She had made sure he ate, slept, showered, basically mothered him just to make sure he didn't go too far. After the Doomsday War and Jacks' experience in Hell, they had only been brought closer due to their mutual hatred for Tommy and Dream. The two people Jack blamed ultimately for your death.
"I know. Thank you, Niki." They continued the trek to Jack's home, however, when it finally came into view, they hesitated.
The front door was open. Jack and Niki looked at each other.
"Who knows where you live?"
"No one. Only me, you, and..."
Niki nodded, "I'll take the front, you go 'round back." They went off.
Niki held her sword at her side, ready to swing at any sudden movement. As she walked into the house it seemed nothing had been too badly disturbed.
Then she heard it. A faint voice singing a soft song. It was coming from Jack's bedroom. Niki went up to the door, listening closely to see who could possibly be in the house. She couldn't help but think how it sounded just like you.
She pushed the door open, withdrew it, and held out against the intruder.
"Who-" She gasped and the sword clattered against the ground. You. It was actually you. You had less color, an almost gray tint surrounded you. But it was you. Niki knew that for sure.
"Who are you?" You looked at her confused.
"You-you don't recognize me?" Niki was hurt. You and she had been close. Then it dawned on her. It was Ghostbur all over again.
"Niki what happened? I heard the-" He stopped once her saw you.
"Jack!" Your voice echoed with excitement as you rushed towards him. He was almost knocked back by you, wrapping your arms around him. He tried to do the same, but he couldn't seem to grab you. His arms just went through your figure.
He looked to Niki, who was just as dumbfounded.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm definitely making a part two to this. Way more domestic stuff, I promise!
gods and the mortals they worship
A/N: honestly this idea started out due to the fact that scott and jack are gonna be housemates, and a friend and i were like "haha what if c!scott moved into Innit Hotel with jack" which turned into "haha what if c!scott was the god of mcc but he just seemed like a Dude to everyone else" which made my brain go brrr and think "haha what if god!scott and goddess!kristin met for tea" and then this fic happened. it got much angstier than i intended it to whoops
Warnings: implied/referenced temporary character death, grief/mourning, hugs, emotional hurt/comfort
Summary: Kristin, the goddess of death. Scott, the god of champions. Two deities that at first glance, have nothing to do with the other. But all the same, the two deities are close friends, meeting for tea and talking about the mortals they adore. However, some conversations painfully remind them of the mortality of their loved ones.
-
Kristin rather enjoyed it when a fellow deity joined her for tea. Not many would, XD was a little wary of her, being her opposite in a sense. And his sister Drista visited her often enough, but the young goddess was a bit on the rambunctious side, which was expected for the trickster. But the deity's whose visits pleased her the most were Scott's. The god of champions was always lovely to chat with, and she looked forward to each event he organized- always rooting for her husband's team, of course.
They met for tea weekly, but this visit... something seemed off about Scott. He seemed cheery enough, talking about how he had recently moved into the Innit Hotel with Jack and the other servers he was drifting between. But there was a melancholy expression on his face for a brief moment as he traced the flower pattern on his teacup, and a lost, faraway expression would come over his face from time to time. These were expressions Kristin recognized all too well- grief. She saw it in the faces of many mortals when she called their loved ones to her side- and it was unnerving to say the least to see such an expression on a god's face.
"Who are you mourning?" she asked, startling Scott slightly. The god's ever color-shifting eyes refused to meet her.
"The loss of my mcc team, of course," Scott countered with a half-hearted smirk. Kristin gave him an expression of disbelief, and the smirk melted away to something more downcast as he fiddled with something on a chain around his neck. A ring.
"Oh Scott," she said softly.
"Tried the married life thing. It was nice, for a bit. But it was a modified hardcore world, and it didn't end well. For him... or for me," Scott said, hand drifting to his throat with a grimace. Kristin set down her tea, placing a comforting hand on Scott's shoulder. Scott had a unique position as a god- he was one of the few who felt the sting of death. As he willingly lived among mortals most of the time, his godly power had to be diminished to do so. Which meant he could die- but it would never truly stick for him. Granted, death didn't really stick for most of the crowd he stuck around with. They would be reborn into other servers, maybe retaining impressions of the ones before- but Scott was the only one who truly remembered each server he had been on.
"I'm so sorry. Is he..." Kristin trailed off, unsure if she wanted to know if Scott's husband had been reborn into a different server.
"He's on another server with me now. Empires SMP. Calls himself the Codfather these days. I keep hoping he'll remember... but I don't know if I want him to," Scott said, eyes watery.
"Why not?" Kristin asked. If she was in a similar situation with Phil, she absolutely would want him to remember her.
"Because what kind of god can't even keep his husband alive?! I couldn't protect him before, who says I could do it now. Besides with my luck, by the time he'd remember me, I'd only lose him again. Why waste the effort on more heartbreak," Scott said, something vengeful in his tone. The aura around him tinged red, and Kristin drew her hand back with a jolt. Scott took notice of his surroundings, and with a sheepish smile his aura shifted to something more neutral and warm.
"That's why you're hiding in the Dream SMP with Jack, isn't it? You don't want to risk him remembering," Kristin asked softly. Scott let out a sigh.
"I'm not... hiding, exactly. Just lying low, somewhere where I don't have to pretend I'm not a god," Scott explained with a faraway glance.
“What if you were to tell this... Codfather," Kristin suggested. Scott wrinkled his nose in disgust in the name.
"Jimmy. His name is Jimmy," Scott corrected, sounding reverent as he murmured his name the second time. It was almost silly, a god worshipping the ground a mortal walked on- not that Kristin was one to talk. But then again, Phil wasn't exactly mortal.
"Then why don't you tell Jimmy the truth about who you are," Kristin prodded. Few knew the truth about Scott's godly status- Phil, most notably, and Wilbur. And now, she supposed, all who were on the Dream SMP. Otherwise, most knew Scott as someone who had a connection to the god of champions, and carried out his invitations to the games- not that Scott himself was the god in question.
"I... I don't know. Maybe it's safer for him if he never knows," Scott said with a sigh. Kristin squinted at him suspiciously.
"Scott, I've known you for centuries. Tell me the real reason you don't want to tell him," she said pointedly. Scott laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. With a deep breath, his expression settled into something more solemn.
"I don't want things to be different between us. I liked the way it was, on that modified hardcore world. We had a flower valley, with a pond and overgrowth and- and his silly insistence on wanting to protect me, like I was the fragile one, not him. I even experienced a brief afterlife with him, after we had lost all our lives on that world. And that... that was beautiful. But then things reset, and he was reincarnated. And how could I not follow him?" Scott said wistfully. His eyes shone with bittersweet tears, a fond smile on his face.
"You truly have the heart of a mortal, my friend," Kristin said with a soft smile. Scott chuckled, shaking his head.
"Well I certainly can't let anyone know that, think of my reputation," he joked. Kristin laughed.
"Oh please, we all know how much you cherish your champions," she teased.
"Don't tell a soul," Scott said in a mock-serious tone.
"Oh please, the only souls I know are dead ones," Kristin replied with a chuckle. Scott laughed too, but it fell short as his eyes landed on the flowers that decorated the teacups.
"I think the worst part is that he sees me as an enemy. I guess rightfully so, I pushed him away because I was afraid of letting him back in. I don't think I'll be able to look him in the eyes if we end up on the opposite sides of a battle," Scott said, voice fragile as the delicate teacups on the table before them.
"Maybe there's still time to make amends. You could extend some token of peace towards him?" Kristin suggested gently.
"Maybe. I just..." Scott trailed off.
"You just want to mope around in a world of constant hardship and destruction?" Kristin teased lightly, smirking. Scott laughed.
"I guess the Dream SMP isn't the greatest place to hide out," he said, still chuckling. Kristin was relieved to see her friend back to his more genuine smiley self, multicolored eyes glinting with amusement.
"Maybe not. Are Phil and Wilbur staying out of trouble?" Kristin asked, picking her tea back up to sip at. Scott laughed again.
"Staying out of trouble is asking a lot for your family. But I think Phil has forced Wilbur to make friends with Ranboo," he replied, picking up his tea as well.
"Oh? How did that go?" Kristin asked.
"Not sure, honestly. I think they opened a burger place? I've mostly been keeping to myself in the Innit Hotel," Scott said with a shrug.
"I'm sure Tommy loves that," Kristin said dryly.
"Oh yes, cussed me out until I threatened to not let him on mcc anymore. He changed his tune pretty quickly," Scott laughed.
"Doesn't Jack actually own the hotel now?" Kristin asked.
"Yes, but Tommy doesn't seem to know that," Scott answered with a sigh, shaking his head.
"I'm sure he'll get over it. Probably still a little jumbled from being brought back," Kristin muttered, unable to help looking miffed at that. She wasn't exactly fond of people being torn from her domain, especially by an overzealous mortal and the god who he eerily resembled. Although she couldn't exactly blame XD, the book had called him and he was forced to answer.
“Maybe life and death shouldn’t be toyed with anymore,” Scott said softly, after a few beats of silence. Kristin thought of Scott’s struggles with death and rebirth, then thought of her own family. Her husband who survived and lived, never dying- and her son, who fought and died, but ended up living.
“You wouldn’t see me complaining,” Kristin replied, voice coming out more melancholy than she meant it to. Scott looked to her with brows creased in sympathy.
“What a pair we make,” he said with a humorless laugh. Kristin laughed too, just as bleak as Scott’s own laugh.
“The goddess of death whose loved ones live, and the god of champions whose loved ones lose,” she said, voice forlorn. Scott set down his tea, dropping his gaze from Kristin’s.
“I do tend to be drawn towards the lost ones, don’t I?” he said with a weak smile.
“Nothing wrong with rooting for the underdog,” Kristin pointed out with a shrug. Scott looked at the flowers on the teacups, and his smile was a bit brighter this time around, less sad and bittersweet.
“I guess not. Maybe you’re right, maybe there is time to smooth things out with Jimmy,” Scott said, looking back up at Kristin.
“Good! Being mopey doesn’t suit you. And telling him the truth couldn’t hurt either,” Kristin insisted brightly. Scott rolled his eyes with a chuckle.
“Okay Mumza, no need to get on my case. I said I’d try and smooth things over, not reveal that I’m an all-powerful god that was married to him once because I like playing mortal,” he replied, dragging out her nickname with a teasing grin. Kristin grinned back.
“I guess your situation is a little different than when I told Phil I was a goddess,” she said semi-sheepishly.
“Phil was also hopelessly head-over-heels for you when you told him. Jimmy is decidedly not,” Scott pointed out with a laugh.
“Oh Jimmy will come around eventually. If he knows what’s good for him,” Kristin said, sipping at her tea. Scott blinked at her in confusion.
“Are you threatening my ex-husband?” he asked, tone so adorably baffled that Kristin couldn’t help but laugh.
“All I meant was that he doesn’t know what he’s missing. Any man would be lucky to have captured your attention," she clarified with a teasing grin. Scott flushed in embarrassment, the aura around him tinging pink.
“You’re acting like an embarrassing mum trying to convince her son to get out there and start dating,” Scott huffed, trying to play off his flusteredness.
“You’re the one who called me ‘Mumza,’” Kristin pointed out, still grinning.
“This is rude, I’m being attacked and you’re twisting my words against me now-” Scott cut off with a laugh, unable to keep up the mock-offended act as his aura shifted back to being a neutral warm color. Scott finally looked the most himself that he had been all day- aura full of warmth, a smile on his face, and color-shifting eyes sparkling.
“Oh, whatever will you do?” Kristin teased. Scott shook his head, picking up his tea and finishing it off with one last sip before standing from the table.
“I think I’m gonna leave, actually. It’s about time I head out anyway,” Scott said. Kristin looked at how low her own tea had gotten, and sighed before standing with a gentle smile.
“Well as always, it was wonderful to have you. I hope everything works out,” she said softly, holding out her arms. Scott hugged her without hesitation, and Kristin got the feeling he was silently thanking her for her advice through the hug.
“See you next week?” Scott asked after he pulled away.
“I look forward to it,” Kristin replied. Scott smiled, giving a two-fingered salute before disappearing in a burst of color. The lightshow faded, leaving Kristin in her rather gloomy domain. The loneliness after a fellow deity left was always the worst, and the heavy conversation from before didn’t help matters much. Scott and Kristin were very similar beings for two deities that ruled over extremely different things- both of their hearts were too big, too smitten with mortals. Scott could at least compete alongside mortals if he so chose, but Kristin was in a plane of existence that her loved ones could only reach through tragedy. Perhaps Scott had it worse- Kristin could at least distance herself from mortals, while Scott stubbornly refused to. But all the same, Kristin was hopeful that things would work out for the god of champions. And maybe, things would work out for her family as well.
Ok, I've somehow seen quite a few people around saying some things that I just cannot agree with, so let's discuss them:
1) Tommy had no character development. He's a stale character. I'm gonna guess this people have never seen a Tommy stream or a stream involving Tommy at all. This boy has sacrificed so much and changed so much I'm shocked at how many people don't seem to see it.
Let's analyse this from yesterday's stream: he finally gave up the disks after realizing that they really aren't worth his friendships, he apologized multiple times for the things he's done, he recognizes that he's done some awful stuff and that he was becoming someone he didn't want to and actively decided to change his course of action (it is to be pointed out that he and Ranboo are literally the only characters who admitted to their wrongdoings, everyone else still acts like they're on this moral high horse, which is kind of frustrating), at the bench he admitted that, no matter what he's been through, it's not an excuse for his actions. Also he immediately took charge in trying to protect his old friends and the country that threw him out and left him to die trying to left any grudges aside in favour of working towards their common goal. Old Tommy would never have done that! Remember he refused Eret's help multiple times even when he was exiled with Wilbur because of his betrayal? This boy has changed...
2) He betrayed Techno. No he didn't. He was clear with Techno from the start about not wanting to harm Tubbo or destroy L'Manburg. What happened there is that neither of them listened to the other, they both knew their objectives didn't align, but they thought they could change each other mind.
This is obvious when Tommy asks Techno: "You're not really siding with Dream are you?" Or something along those lines. Also it is to be pointed out that Techno did say that he still respected Tommy and that he would respect his decision (which is honestly the most character development we've seen from Techno so far...) and also one more little detail: Techno was siding with Tommy's past abuser! How could Techno think Tommy would be on board with that? He saw the effects of Dream's influence on him! (This is honestly just so frustrating to me...)
3) Niki did nothing wrong. I'm sorry, I know this is controversial and I probably should look at her vod, so my opinion may change later on but, for now though, Niki what the Hell was that?!
Let's start from how everyone immediately believed Dream's accusations, no questions asked. Tommy was right in being angry that no-one (aside from Techno and later Ranboo) stood up for him. Hell, they all still believed Dream after he literally admitted to manipulating Tubbo for the disk, to the fact that he literally only cared about the disk and the fact that his objective was to destroy L'Manburg from the start! He basically told them all to their faces that he was using and manipulating them and they all still went: "yep, seems trustworthy to me!"... are you kidding me?!
So, if everyone was acting so extremely dumb, why am I singling out Niki? Because of the way she attacked Tommy mostly, it was just so hypocritical. She was in the revolution, she saw him fight for L'Manburg, time and time again. And sure, he made a mistake, burned down George's house (which was an accident by the way) and he got punished for it! She knows he'd been exiled because they met before now in canon. He already paid for his actions! Heck, he's literally the only one on the server who ever had any official repercussions for his actions! And still she blames him for all of their problems! The guy who, once more, was willing to give up everything, including his last life, for people who, honestly, don't deserve it one bit. She blamed him constantly, said that he was nothing but a lier (sure he didn't admit immediately to his crime when he burned down George's house, but he did at the end! And that was the only time he lied in an important way! Come on! Plus, as I said before, he already paid for his crimes!)
Also Tommy hasn't been in L'Manburg in months in smp time, and everything fell apart anyway, it just feels very unfair to blame him for everything. Especially when you have Dream right there, admitting to be a manipulative ass and wanting to destroy everything! And especially after you have a 16 year old child-soldier telling everyone in a very obvious way that Dream abused him in exile. (He didn't state it directly, but it was impossible not to understand). At this point it just really feels like victim blaming. I'm sorry, maybe I'm misunderstanding Niki's character, admittingly I don't watch her, so feel free to correct me if I missed something big, but that's just how it felt.
Some last few considerations:
I'm gonna admit I'm sad Techno and Tommy split apart. I loved them together and I really don't think L'Manburg deserves Tommy right now... because it is true that they threw him out at the first hardship they encountered and then left him to die, it is true that they never really tried to get him back and it's true that they never stood up for him. Time and time again they forced him in the position of the hero and then acted like that was just what he owed them, but it isn't. He doesn't owe them his life, he doesn't owe them his loyalty, he didn't even owe them his disks! But this is Tommy's choice (even Techno recognized) and he chose to, once again, be selfless. He could have stayed with Techno and chose the easy path, the safe path, but he decided to stand up for what he believes in and fight for his ideals and I think that's something we can all respect in a character.
I hope the others (especially the adults... please don't let the literal kids of the server be the only rational ones...) will be able to put their grudges aside and fight together for the greater good... but I have the feeling they'll fall apart. So adamant in not being on Tommy's side that they'll end up helping Dream take over. Also I'm so afraid for Ranboo and Tommy right now, I feel like at least one of them isn't gonna survive today (either that or Ranboo will switch sides).
Also, Punz is not gonna betray them in this battle, or at least, that wasn't the plan he and Dream had. Dream was planning to do something big that would force him to leave for a while and was planning to leave Punz there as his spy on the inside. Their plan is going swimmingly so far...
(Also, on a little note, I love how supportive and understanding Fundy was of Ranboo after the reveal of his "betrayal". He thinks Ranboo was right, he still trusts him and I just... their friendship just makes me so soft and it's honestly my favourite relationship in the smp)
#dream smp#tommyinnit#dreamwastaken#technoblade#niki#niachu#l'manburg#dream smp spoilers#spoilers#ranboo#fundy#punz#I'm always happy when I get to talk about him!#also I felt so bad for tubbo when dream was telling him how bad of a president he was#I mean#he was right#but the boy is just 17 people#what did you expect?!#also techno really should learne to look at the bigger picture#l'manburg has no power anymore#tubbo is the only citizen left basically since ranboo was deemed a traitor#it's basically an empty crater with no power#how is destroying that husk of a state gonna help hi. achieve anarchy???#come on man#get your shit together!#my post
I’ll Be There When Your Reality Drowns (Ranboo x platonic!Reader)
Based very loosely off the song ‘Siren’ by Kailee Morgue. Content Warnings- character death, some weird stuff, i don’t know how to warn for it so just be careful it shouldn’t be bad though A03 link- wow. Word Count- 2,121
I said that there would be another fic. Well, enjoy! And reblogs are very much welcome as well as likes. I appreciate every like that I get, and it makes me happy when I see that people liked what I wrote.
It starts normally like always. Ranboo’s just walking aimlessly around an unknown village when he spots her. He doesn’t know why she’s always there, or why he feels an immediate pull towards her, but nonetheless it’s there. His attempts to get to her always fail and he wakes up feeling severely disappointed and depressed.
“Hey, Ranboo, are you okay?” Tubbo asks as he gives Micheal a golden apple.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Just a little tired. Didn’t sleep too well last night.” It’s the same reason he’s given everyone whenever they ask about his abnormal silence and slight air of sadness that follows him recently.
“Okay. If you want to talk about it I’m always here.” He offers and Ranboo nods.
With everything else going on, these dreams are just the tip of the iceberg. How does he tell his husband that he stole Tommy’s disk, helped blow up L’Manberg, and worked with Dream to do god knows what else? Tubbo wouldn’t handle it well, not in the slightest. And there’s no reason to anger the man who currently possesses nukes. There’s no one he can tell now.
Ranboo completes his jobs for the day and finds himself wandering around the SMP, hoping that maybe today the woman from his dreams will be here and he’ll be able to get some answers as to why he feels like a planet being sucked into the sun in his dreams whenever he sees her. But she’s not there. She’s only in his dreams to torment him, maybe something that Dream is making him see.
Dejected, he returns to Snowchester and the mansion where he finds Tubbo playing with Micheal outside in the snow.
“Hey, come play with us,” Tubbo says.
Ranboo thinks about it for a moment. “Okay.”
The three spend the rest of the day outside, only coming back inside when the sun starts setting. Their nightly routine drags by as Ranboo waits in anticipation for when he can fall asleep and see the woman again. If that’s the only place he can see her, then so be it.
After taking showers, brushing teeth, and getting changed into pajamas, everyone’s finally in bed with Tubbo bidding Ranboo goodnight and going to his own room. They found out the hard way that Ranboo is not a nice bedmate most nights and spends the entire time kicking hard enough to leave bruises for weeks.
Ranboo settles in between the blankets and closes his eyes. Just for a moment, he thinks he sees something in the corner of the room, but by then it’s too late to think about it. He’s already asleep. And this goes on for weeks. The same routine, never changing except for when either he or Tubbo have something super important to attend to. The same dream every night and the same waking fear that he’s never going to meet the woman. Until one day, it all seems to come crashing down on him.
Ranboo steps onto the path leading into the village and looks around slowly. He spots her quickly, standing next to the same building that she always is. Her black wings seem to glitter in the sunlight while also soaking up all the light that hits them like a black hole.
“Hello?” This is the first time he’s tried calling out to her, and she makes no movement to indicate that she’d heard.
Ranboo steps forward until he’s next to her and she turns around to look behind her, but the look isn’t one that might appear when seeing a stranger. Rather, it was one that you might get when seeing a friend again for the first time in a while.
“Hey… it’s been a while.” She walks over and hugs him.
“Uh yeah. My name’s Ranboo. I keep seeing you in my dreams and I don’t know why.” He says bluntly and she laughs loudly.
“I know who you are, silly. You’re my son. How have you been?” She says with a smile.
“Uh… I’ve been good. I’ve been having some really weird dreams lately though…” he trails off, rubbing the back of his neck with his hand.
“Oh what about?” She asks and he struggles with what to tell her.
“Well, this one for starters. But the others I’ve seen you in I’ve never been able to talk to you like I am now.” Ranboo mutters and she nods, the smile never dropping from her face.
“Well, that’s because you needed to talk to me silly. Don’t you remember the past few times we’ve talked?” She asks and Ranboo feels the color drain from his face.
“What do you mean we’ve talked before? Is my memory that bad? Did I do more than what I can remember?” He mutters quickly, looking down at his hands.
“No no no no no. You can’t remember because I didn’t want you to remember. I’ve been unable to leave the end dimension and I didn’t want to cause you any unnecessary stress or pain or fear or anything. The only reason you couldn’t talk to me recently was that I was escaping. You’re going to see me very soon, don’t worry. You need to go now. It’s not safe to stay here for long.” The woman pulls Ranboo in for a quick hug.
“Wait! No!” Ranboo sits up in the bed, the sunlight streaming in from outside.
“What’s wrong?” Tubbo bursts into the room quickly, worried that something’s happening to his husband.
“Nothing. Just a weird dream.” Ranboo shakes his head.
“The same one?”
“No, a different one this time. Well, a little different. Not sure why though.” It’s not entirely a lie. She told him why, but why did he need to talk to her?
“Okay. I’m gonna take Michael out for a walk. You have to go meet Tommy in the SMP.” Ranboo nods, getting ready for the day before leaving to get on with everything.
Before he can meet with Tommy though, his worst fear comes to pass.
“Wilbur,” Ranboo says slowly.
“Hello, Ranboo. We need to have a chat.” Wilbur's sickeningly sweet smile is enough to put Ranboo on edge.
“About what?” The fear creeps into the young man's voice against his will.
“You know what. And I’ll make you a deal right now. Help me, and I don’t tell anyone what you’ve done. Your secret stays with me. Your precious husband and Tommy will never hear that you helped Dream blow up their country, nor will they find out that you had his disc all along. So, what do you say?” Wilbur says happily, bouncing around energetically while he speaks.
“Go to hell.” Ranboo seethes, a faint static noise starting to come from him.
¨Already been there. It’s not as fun as you’d think. But if that’s what you want then so be it. I just wonder what everyone’s going to say.” Wilbur practically prances off and the realization of the consequences fully hits him.
“Oh fuck. Fuck fuck fuck. I’ve got to get to Tubbo.” He mumbles before running off to Snowchester where his husband is currently.
Tubbo isn’t there when he gets back and he feels the panic set in. Surely Wilbur can’t possibly tell everyone in the time it takes him to get back to the SMP, right? But he did. And that lands Ranboo where he is now.
“You helped Dream!? You stole my disc and helped blow up L’Manberg!?” Tommy screams at the taller man and he holds up his hands in surrender.
“I didn’t know what I was doing! I-” Ranboo tries to defend himself against the onslaught of words from the crowd of people surrounding him but it’s no use.
“You knew damn well what you were doing! You knew who Dream was- knew what he’d done- and yet you still helped him!” Tommy is livid. No one’s ever seen the kid as angry as he was now. Not even when Wilbur and Techno betrayed him in the first destruction of L’Manberg.
“I trusted you, Ranboo. You know what he’s done to Tommy… to me… and you still helped him. I can’t believe you.” Tubbo mumbles and that hurts more than the words that Tommy’s screaming.
“Tubbo I-” Ranboo is cut off from speaking again and tries to curl up as small as he can. The crowd closes in on him, swords and axes in hand.
“You belong in the prison with Dream.”
“You’re just as bad as him. “
“Why shouldn’t we put you in there with him?”
The voices overlap each other- loud, accusing voices.
“Stop!” Someone says, landing in front of the boy and holding their wings out to shield him from the sight of the group of people in front of him.
“And who are you?” Sam asks angrily, eyes red and holding a sword out in preparation to take Ranboo into custody.
“That doesn’t matter. What matters is that you’re not going to touch him. Ever. And if any of you do, I will take all of your remaining lives and then display your bodies outside my house for the rest of my life. And I’m immortal. But don’t worry. He’s coming with me.” Her black scaly wings look familiar, and it takes him a moment before he places where he’s seen them before.
“And why should we give him to you?” Sam asks.
“He needs to be put in prison. He’s not going anywhere with you!” Tommy screams out and runs towards the woman with his sword raised.
She uses her wing to knock Tommy to the ground and looks Sam in the eyes.
“As his mother, I’ve decided to take him with me. You do not get to tell me what I can and can’t do with my son. Last I checked, you aren’t his parent.” The purple glow of her eyes seems to get brighter as she speaks.
“Give him to us or we’ll kill him and you right now.” Someone shouts from the crowd and the rest of them shout words of agreement.
“Is that a threat?” She asks head cocked slightly to the side.
“No. It’s a promise.” The same voice shouts and Ranboo identifies it as Sapnap.
“Well, in that case, come on then. I don’t have all day.” She smiles sweetly.
Sapnap steps forward and draws his axe. Y/n pulls her sword from the scabbard at her hip and the crowd eyes it wearily. The enchantments on it are evident in the runes etched into the blade, and a lot of them are ones that not even Philza recognizes. A slight haze surrounds the metal in the sunlight and Sapnap gulps but doesn’t retreat.
The crowd backs away and Ranboo does the same.
“Get ready to die,” Sapnap says before charging at Y/n.
She steps back, dodging his lunge and making one of her own, at the same time sweeping her leg under his. Sapnap jumps and swipes at her with his blade. She dodges under it, coming up behind him and wrapping hers around his neck. The blade touches his skin and he feels a hot and cold sensation spread through his body, the freezing effect doing nothing to cool the burning that it follows.
“Are you done?” She asks and Sapnap’s breath catches in his throat.
“Never.” He tries to stab behind her but gets nothing but air.
“Your choice.” She mutters before sliding her sword across his neck.
The crowd gasps and screams as they watch the wound on his neck that was just made heal and his body contort and elongate. His screams die out as the fire engulfs his body, disappearing as the blue frost follows it leaving a pure black color in its wake. Not a moment later, he stands back up, but it’s not him. It’s something else. The black figure towers over everyone, giving them a quick look before teleporting away.
Someone screams, and then it’s chaos. Most of the group scatters with Bad simply staring at the spot where Sapnap’s body was.
“No…” he whispers and he feels his heartbreak.
“He’s not dead. He should be back wherever he spawns. You don’t have to worry.” She says, and Bad looks up before taking off to see if she’s telling the truth.
When the area is clear of people, she turns around to look at Ranboo.
“Let’s go. You have a lot to learn.” She says with a gentle smile and places a hand on his shoulder. “And don’t worry about your friends. They’ll come around eventually. Trust me. Everything’s going to work itself out in the end.”
He nods and smiles at her in return. She leads him out of the SMP, one wing wrapped protectively around him.
Fandoms: Empires SMP
Relationships: Scott Smajor & Jimmy | Solidarity Gaming
Characters: Scott Smajor, Jimmy | Solidarity Gaming, Xornoth
Scott thinks about his current life as well as the one before it.
(Fic Tags: Golden Touch Curse, short sweet and angsty, Angst, no happy ending, Scott gets cursed and it does not go well, Xornoth may or may not have something to do with it., and as usual:, goose has no clue how to tag their fics)
For those Reading it here on Tumblr:
To put it simply, wearing a demon as a necklace was never going to end well. Scott never thought it would end this badly though.
It had started about a week ago. Scott was inside making plans for the construction of a new building in Rivendell, when the gem around his neck started glowing. It had never happened before, so he started to get reasonably concerned. Was the containment spell enough to keep Xornoth sealed away in the gem? He had no doubts about the strength of Gem’s magic. He was terrified of how strong his brother might be.
But nothing happened to the necklace. The glow faded, and there were no cracks or chips. So Scott went about with his plans, a little more cautious than normal. Over the next few days, it felt like a small amount of gold glitter followed him wherever he went. It put him on edge, but he tried not to think much of it. His iron ingots seemed to start disappearing over the next couple days, and he noticed having more gold ingots than he remembered.
Then Jimmy visited the next day, a week since the glow of the necklace, and everything went so horribly wrong. Scott hadn’t been sleeping as much as he should have. Nothing made sense with what was happening, and he’d been trying to figure out what the hell was happening. He was exhausted and worried, but became slightly more hopeful when he heard a knock on the door followed by a familiar voice: “Scott? Are you there?” It was Jimmy. “I’m coming in!” The door opened. Scott was sitting at his dining room table as Jimmy entered, walking over to face Scott. “Woah, are you okay? You don’t look so good.”
Scott nodded. “I… I could be better, but nothing bad has happened, so it could be worse.” He hoped he didn’t sound quite as tired as he felt, but he knew he did. Without saying another word, Jimmy took a small step back before stopping with outstretched arms and a soft smile to offer Scott a hug. Scott stood up to accept, wrapping his arms around Jimmy and basking in his warm embrace.
Something was wrong. That was obvious from the moment Jimmy’s breath hitched in a panic. Something was very wrong. Jimmy backed out of the hug to reveal the gold that was quickly covering his entire body. A feeling of pure panic flooded the entire room, as a look of silent fear was frozen in gold on Jimmy’s face, and Scott was left to wonder what the hell he had just done.
Suddenly, everything that had happened that week: the golden dust, the sudden appearance of all those gold ingots, all of it. Curses were nothing new. Being a part of Rivendell royalty, the occasional curse was considered “part of the experience” at this point. But this kind of curse was unlike anything he’d ever seen before.
“I’m so sorry Jimmy.” Scott’s eyes were fixed upon the statue as tears started welling up in his eyes. Through the blur of the tears, he saw a familiar red glow coming from the crystal on his necklace. His sadness mixed with sudden anger as he ripped the necklace from around his neck, holding it out in front of him. “YOU. You did this, didn’t you?” The necklace didn’t say anything. Of course it didn’t. Xornoth couldn’t say anything through the crystal. He had no proof that Xornoth was even behind this, but it was the only thing that made sense. The glow faded, leaving Scott alone in silence.
Sixteen - Dream SMP Drabble
A/N: Based off of @tittybitch’s headcannon on why both Tommy and Tubbo were child soldiers, with the new info Wilbur dropped a while ago on Tubbo and Tommy’s ages when he wrote about them for the Dream SMP - twenty. What if Tommy and Tubbo lied about their ages to Wilbur in order to become soldiers in the First Independence War?
TW: Major Character Death, murder, lying/breaking laws, drug mention, child soldiers, cursing. (Let me know if I need to tag anything else!)
--------------------------------------
When Tommy had fallen into the water, staining it crimson red with a large arrow in his chest, Tubbo had screamed, rushing over. The soldier fell to his knees as Tommy’s items simply began to float towards the surface. Wilbur’s head bowed in respect at his right-hand man, his gaze lingering toward the floor a bit longer than normal. Tommy was a good man, he’d made his choice, this choice, in order to save their nation and he stood by it. That was something even the L’manburg General could admit was admirable. Dream walked up to him.
“So you will disband L’manburg, and Tommy’s discs will be given to me?”
“That was the deal.” Wilbur breathed, putting a comforting hand on Tubbo’s shoulder, who hadn’t moved from his place on the ground, just staring at the mass of items and bloody water. “Alright men, let’s head out with our dignity and honor.”
“No…” Tubbo whispered to himself, his hands gripping the floor as he shook with pure emotion. “No! You don’t get to just brush past this! Dream killed Tommy, he killed him- and… and you’re just gonna give up?!”
“Tubbo, this duel was not our decision or our plan, you know that.”
“Our decision?!” Tubbo snapped, sitting up and getting in the face of his commanding officer. “Our DECISION?! He was sixteen, Wilbur! Sixteen!”
Wilbur’s eyes focused solely on Tubbo’s as he began to calm down, beginning to process what exactly his soldier had said. Sixteen. Tommy Innit, his right-hand man, a fellow soldier who amounted more than his fair share of injuries thus far, someone who just died for their country in a duel… was sixteen years old. A teenager. A kid. Anger boiled within his chest and stomach. “What?”
Tubbo’s eyes tried to avoid the General’s increasingly intense stare. “Oh, you… uh… I’m sorry, Wilbur - I didn’t mean to just go off like that, you know sometimes I just say stuff that just comes off the top of my head, it’s… it’s uh… crazy-!”
“Tubbo, I’m going to ask this once and only once, so listen to me very closely…” Wilbur rested his hand on Tubbo’s shoulder, using the other to tilt his chin up to look at him. Tubbo gulped as he could feel his heart drop looking at how angry Wilbur was becoming. “How old is Tommy Innit?”
Tommy swore Tubbo to secrecy, he made him promise to never, ever, ever tell a soul how old they really were, not even through torture or death. Tommy told him that they’d be ruined if they told anyone their real ages, never taken seriously, and constantly looked down upon. Dream already thought of them as less than him, being children… teenagers, would only make it worse. They were so much more than just teenagers, and they were both so determined to prove how capable they were, how much they could do.
But now Tommy was dead, he saw his best friend die before his eyes and it all became too real. There was so much more they both wanted to do...they were only sixteen, he was only sixteen. This stupid lie that Tommy convinced him was better to tell than the truth could end up costing them their lives. Though it was selfish and cowardly, Tubbo didn’t want to die, he didn’t want Tommy to die. Not yet. Not now.
“Soldier, answer me.”
Tubbo’s throat turned dry as he took a deep breath, the words ‘Not yet’ echoing in his head. “Sixteen.”
Wilbur kneeled down to be more level with the fellow soldier, moving to gently grab both of his arms, his face looking more sympathetic, pitiful. “Yeah? And… and what about you, soldier?”
“I’m sixteen years old, sir.”
Wilbur nodded to himself, still trying to wrap his head around this fact when Fundy piped up from the corner. “Dad, Tommy’s respawned.” Anger and sadness fought in a tangled mess in Wilbur’s stomach as he stood once more.
“Right, men. Let’s go pay a visit to our fallen brother in arms. I have a feeling he’ll need it. Move out.” Fundy walked off quickly with Tubbo trailing behind him, his gaze focused on the ground, both of them silent. Dream and his posse were mostly gone already, not bothering to witness the fallout except for Sapnap and Eret.
Eret’s crown weighed heavy on his head - he betrayed two teenagers, as well as a son and a father to earn this, to earn his crown and his place on the throne. They were kids, they were a family. “Look, Wilbur I-”
“Tommy’s dead, Eret. It’s over, you won. Congrats.” Wilbur crossed his arms over his chest as he stared at Eret intensely. “Look, no matter what happened today, no matter who won what - if I see you within five feet of Fundy, Tubbo, or Tommy, you’ll fucking regret it. I think they’ve suffered enough because of you.”
-----------------------------------------------
When Tommy opened his eyes and the soreness and tiredness took over him, a feeling that he remembered vividly, all he wanted was to curl in on himself and cry. He was ashamed of himself, of that stupid stupid duel - now L’manburg would never get their freedom, and it was all his fault. All because he couldn’t land one arrow. Trying to distract himself from the guilt that weighed on his heart, he moved, wincing at the small pricks of pain spread throughout his body, and opened up the chest near his bed, grabbing some bandages and health potions to help heal him and numb some of the pain.
With a heavy heart, he hesitated for a moment, taking off his L’manburg coat, knowing it would probably be the last time he’d do so. He ran his hands over the stitching to try and commit it all to memory, in some weird effort to not let L’manburg die. He fought so hard to protect it, yet he killed it with his own hands. He let out a defeated sigh, piling the coat and his hat on top of his chest, moving to take care of the nasty scarring around his chest where Dream had shot him.
He didn’t expect anyone to visit him, let alone Wilbur. The General entered with his hands behind his back, deep in thought, thinking behind his eyes. Tubbo rushed over, nearly crashing into him. “Tommy!”
“Woah, Woah, Woah big man.” Tommy smiled at the sight of his friend, wrapping an arm around him a bit of an embrace. “Thanks for the worry, but I’m still sore-”
“Oh, right, right - sorry.” Tubbo sheepishly added, pulling away from the tight hug he had around his best friend’s middle, moving to sit beside him.
“I...uhm… didn’t expect all of you to be here.”
Fundy walked over, a cloth and a gleaming bottle in his hand. “Here, I just brewed from regen if you need it, it’ll be a lot better than those health pots. A hit like that’ll need lots of healing, that’s for sure.” Tommy’s eyes furrowed at the weird sadness Fundy’s face held, how he seemed like he was forcing a smile. It was weird to see someone act tense around him, and Wilbur’s silence definitely was NOT helping.
“Uh… thanks, Fundy.”
“I’m just glad you’re alright - With your injuries, we weren’t sure you were going to respawn.”
Tommy smirked, moving to take the potion and cloth from the fox hybrid, popping the cork off. “Please, nothing that green bastard could do could ever keep me down.” He took a sip of the potion, the dull and numb sensation traveling throughout his body and slowly melting away any lingering pricks of pain. Laughter echoed from both Tubbo and Fundy, enjoying the slight sense of normalcy.
“Tommy?” Wilbur walked toward the three who sat around or on the bed, his eyes flicking back and forth, looking like he wanted to say something but he didn’t know what to say.
“Sir?” Tommy looked up at the General, sitting up straight almost on instinct at this point. Tommy had never seen Wilbur like this in his entire life, never seen his General this conflicted, this unsure of something. “...Wilbur?”
“I…” Wilbur swallowed thickly, taking a deep breath. “I know, Tommy.” Tommy’s eyes narrowed. “I know what you and Tubbo hid from me, I know you’re not twenty.” Tommy’s eyes flicked over toward Tubbo, who wouldn’t meet his gaze.
“You don’t know shit.” Tommy spat.
“Tommy, I told him.” Tubbo spilled out, clinging on to his best friend’s arm like it was a lifeline.
“Tubbo you promised, you looked me in the eyes and you promised me, you swore to me, not even with death-!”
“I thought...I don’t want you to die, Tommy!” Tubbo finally looked up toward his friend, and Tommy finally saw the distress in his eyes. “You have one life left. ONE. You’re my best friend, I…” Tubbo could see the hurt in Tommy’s eyes, and his gaze fell back on the bedsheets in shame. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”
Tommy took a deep breath, looking at his best friend, then turned toward Wilbur. “So, I guess all those ‘child’ jokes were true, innit?” He glared at the other two in the room. “Come on, out with it then. Tell me how reckless and immature I am. Tell me I never took any of this seriously, how I doomed and destroyed everything because I’m just a ‘stupid child’.” Tommy’s hands gripped into fists, getting up from the bed, angry at the silence. “Come on, just DO IT ALREADY!”
“You’re not a stupid child, Tommy.”
“Don’t you dare fucking pity me-”
“Pity you?! PITY YOU?!” Wilbur exclaimed. “Do you honestly think I would do that? Do you think after everything you’ve done, I pity you?”
“What?”
“Tommy, you’ve dedicated yourself to L’manburg, you put your life on the line for it and were willing to risk your discs for its freedom. That’s earned my respect, however old you are.” Wilbur looked between Tommy and Tubbo. “I wish you would’ve told me, I could’ve been able to protect you from all of this. You wouldn’t have had to fight this war, it’s not yours to fight. Not yet.”
“You know without me or Tubbo you wouldn’t have fared as well with Dream’s army. You needed help, we wanted to fight.” Tommy’s voice was no longer angry but tired. “I don’t regret it, Wilbur.”
“But you’re… you’re both kids, you’re...fuck, what have I done?!” Wilbur cursed under his breath.
“What you had to.” Tubbo’s voice was soft in its reply. Silence passed through the room as Wilbur moved toward both of the teens, shaking his head.
“No, no no no, there was another way, you shouldn’t have- you both should have never had to go through any of this, never been on the battlefield or running for your life. You shouldn’t have had to make those calls, you should’ve just enjoyed being kids instead of getting dragged into my mess...my war. I put you through that - if it wasn’t torture enough to put my own son in that position…”
“If you know me at all, Wil, you know I wouldn’t just sit by and watch. L’manburg… this place… it’s so much more than just a place. You and I started our first drug trades here, you made me feel important, you made me feel a part of something, instead of some kind of prick that everyone just wants to go away. You’ve all had my back, you’re all my friends… this is my home.”
Tubbo sat up to stand beside Tommy with a small hopeful smile. “Our home.”
“Our home.” Tommy echoed. “We needed… no, we wanted to protect it, no matter what. So I don’t regret this at all, Wilbur. Even if we lost. I don’t regret a damn thing.”
At that moment, no truer words had ever been spoken.
I was thinking about something you said yesterday about c!dream not having anyone reach out to him and it go me thinking. Because at least based on what i remember your analysis tends to have this tone of like, blame on others for not being a support system or positive influence on c!dream, which i think us unintetionally. Which made me think. Can you blame someone for not reaching out if they were unaware c!dream was feeling villainsed/unwell mentally? Because to the best of my knowledge he (1/
- never reached out to anyone other then maybe the letter to c!tommy during the pogtopia era, which c!tommy took positively and in fact stated c!dream was his friend several times to him.
Idk if im making sense. Like. If someone does self-harm or suicide or any other thing because of mental illness or otherwise emotional damage, how can people help or be at guilt for not helping if they do not know? The reason reaching out is so important to me is because people reach out when they acknowledge they need help and are willing to get it.
Idk i just feel like any form of emotional support or otherwise won't work unless a person is willing to be helped if that makes sense? Like. Lemme use an example from dsmp.
Would you blame c!dream if c!tommy had ended up commiting suicide? Would you blame c!ranboo? C!dream knew c!tommy was suicidal but didn't like. Encourage him to go to therapy. C!ranboo didn't either but unlike c!dream he had no power to revoke the exile. Would either be at blame for inertia? I genuinely don't know.
Let's go with another example here. C!tommy unintentionally hurts c!tubbo by saying he has thicker skin. C!tubbo hasn't talked to anyone about his trauma or suicidal ideation (one example is the dead man's switch) Is tommy at fault for not knowing tubbo's trauma? No! It's up to whoever has the trauma or mental issue to seek help or let people know, at least in this case.
Sorry if this doesn't make sense pls correct if wrong. Sorry if that last ask doesn't make sense. I'll rewrite it if i need to because i don't wanna come across wrong or offend anyone i just want to share my perspective and thoughts.
I think i know how to express what i wanted to yesterday but more concise and actually makes sense: you can't blame people for not helping if people don't ask for help. I can elaborate if needed
i think it would've been largely blamed on c!dream if c!tommy did end up dying by his own hand in exile. and i think that would've been... in a way fair, because he knew what he was doing, and he knew what was happening to c!tommy. but this is besides the point, because c!tommy was actively stopped from seeking help by c!dream, so the example doesn't really apply.
i think the problem with "he should've let people know" is that a common trauma response is to emotionally isolate yourself (raises hand) like in c!tubbo's case. of course you can't blame someone for not doing something they didn't know they were supposed to do, but it's... it's still bad the person didn't get help.
you know, when i talk about c!dream being abandoned, not being given a chance, or not being helped, i'm not,,, i'm not talking about the people who didn't reach out to him being in the wrong. i'm talking about him and how it affected him. how it was sad and messed up, because people need and deserve support in their life.
i blame the environment, the wars, the cycle of violence, the being hurt and then hurting others and justifying it to yourself. i don't blame the individuals - their mistakes are also a part of this loop, these situations they get stuck inside of, but they're flawed and they're human. they deserve help and they don't get it, not because all of the people around them are bad people, but because they're all hurting and make plenty of mistakes as a result.
i blame the environment for the way c!dream ended up, partially, because it could've been better. it could've ended up otherwise. that's how it should've been in a perfect world. the thing is... the dream smp is the furthest thing from perfect.
the only reason i'm ever critical of characters when it comes to the treatment of c!dream is when they do bad things after not helping him. the entire server watching him be killed twice over even though he had put away all of his weapons. c!sapnap saying he'd kill him if he escaped, while seeing the terrible conditions and what they're doing to him. c!puffy saying he doesn't deserve therapy.
sure, you could come up with justifications for a lot of this stuff, but when knowing they really did nothing to help him when he needed it most, these things just rub me in the wrong way, you know?
at this point, they know something changed. they know something happened, but they dehumanize him and let him be hurt anyways with no further wish to help after not being there in the first place.
c!dream deserved better than to have his home ripped apart and to be left alone and put in such situations. he was affected by the actions and inactions of others.
i'm not saying other people caused his bad reactions to the environment, or that they made him hurt them.
was it awful that c!dream has shown to probably not be in the best place mentally and has had his entire support system shattered when he was possibly in a dark period of his life? yes! do i blame the characters for what happened? no! they all need help! get them therapy! it's all messed up! they're all hurting each other, and that sucks - but they also deserve nothing but to get better.
plz why is dream dt as adora
OKAY SO FJDJDDJDJ THIS IS ABOUT THE DREAM SMP N ITS THE ROLEPLAY/FICTIONAL STUFF SO YHIS IS ACTUALLY C!DREAM GETTING TORTURED BY DREAMXD (god of the dream smp) WHO IS PRETENDING TO BE C!GEORGE LIKE U KNOW. how double trouble pretended to be adora to mess w catra
anyway this means nothing to you but it means SO MUCH to me so let me break it down for a moment
c!george has been having a hard time on the server. he’s been on Not Good terms ever since c!dream dethroned him (a whole other plot to explain, basically c!george felt backstabbed n c!dream claims it was done to protect c!george), and since c!dream is in prison, there really is No One there to Protect him. everyone keeps beating him up and taking his stuff, even a SPECIAL shield that c!dream used to use and gave to c!george to keep him safe. aka, the last item c!george has that could remind him on c!dream :( he even went so far as to make a deal with the devil (this is lightheartedly played by dream’s irl 14 year old sister, referred to as ‘drista’ by everyone, short for dream’s sister. what happened in the irl setting is that dream n drista were streaming n george came online n asked her to give him stuff because she was in creative mode. she really wanted to but dream said no n they made a bet instead n george got sad and acted dramatic about it when he lost) and he LOST so he had like NOTHING
MOVING ON,,, c!george is shown to us in lore the very next day to be burdened and confronted by all the important stuff he missed in the server, aka by not being there he indirectly has caused a lot of bad shit to happen. c!george is experiencing most of his life stuck in dreams, and he’s gotten to the point where he can’t differentiate his dreams from reality very well, and it’s confusing him a lot. c!george is shown to not remember what happened to many stuff he was involved in, such as countries like mexican l’manberg/el rapids for instance
he gets into trouble because his friend c!badboyhalo got corrupted by a huge evil egg (this is another gay ass storyline fjdjdjdj) and DEMANDS that c!george go to the egg w him n like essentially become corrupted too, and c!george is very scared n doesn’t want to :( suddenly, dreamxd descends from the sky and scares c!badboyhalo enough to stop. he kills c!bad to save c!george n also so that c!george can take c!bad’s stuff
but c!george gets worried that c!bad’s stuff is poisoned and hesitates, causing c!bad to run back and take his things. c!george then begins to shamelessly ask dreamXD for more stuff, since the last time they were together, they were building a McDonald’s, and dreamXD showed an unwavering loyalty to c!george and a willingness to give him almost anything
this is the first time we find out that dreamXD isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. his voice corrupts and sounds demonic as he yells at c!george for having the audacity to ask for more stuff after he had already given him stuff. this side of him continues to come and go, and viewers refer to it as ‘dreamon’. however we don’t know whether dreamon is a separate entity from dreamXD or just a different side to dreamXD. we also find out that dreamXD has some connection to c!dream that is also unclear. some fans theorize it has something to do with why c!dream has the power to bring people Back To Life
c!george, as it turns out, is a little confused by dreamXD. he doesn’t like dreamXD when he speaks angrily and demonically, and he notes that dreamXD mostly seems to show up around c!george, and not other people. dreamXD says this is because “you invite me in // how? // you have a welcoming presence” anyway c!george is confused because dreamXD looks like c!dream and he SOUNDS like c!dream but.... c!dream is in prison. and not there with c!george. and c!george MISSES him, and also keeps talking to dreamXD like he’s actually c!dream
he tells him he just wants c!dream to come back so everything can go back to normal. he doesn’t want him in prison, in fact he is notably one of the only people who wasn’t involved in the plot to put c!dream in prison. dreamxd has to keep telling him “i’m not dream.”, but also at some point dreamxd switches to c!dream’s voice to.... well it is unclear why he says “hi, george, it’s me, dream!” to c!george in c!dream’s voice. but it throws c!george off a LOT n he gets very expectant as he asks dreamxd if c!dream really is there, to which dreamxd says “oh. i think he’s gone now” (it’s possible he pulled out the c!dream voice to manipulate c!george into trusting him)
anyway the episode goes on to essentially show c!george trying to teach dreamxd to act more human and be less of a menace. he nearly gives up several times out of frustration, and this seems to tie in with his frustration with c!dream, who like got power hungry n became darker n evil etc, which c!george wishes werent the case, he misses HIS c!dream, the kind one who protected him and made everyone happier just by being around
c!george attempts to teach dreamxd how to prank people, but dreamxd keeps taking it too far. the tension of that is that dreamxd wants to be friends with c!george, but feels like c!george is just using him to get Stuff. on the other hand c!george is annoyed and just wants stuff. at some point dreamxd calls c!george a GOLD DIGGER and also at some point c!george threatens to just completely leave dreamxd, prompting the latter to beg n coax him for forgiveness. eventually they make a deal, where they become friends, in exchange for dreamxd giving c!george full netherite armor and tools. and then soon after c!george wakes up n he realizes the whole thing must’ve been a dream. but then he STILL has the netherite stuff. he begins to drop n pick up all his stuff n touch the world around him to test if anything is real
c!george is also shown to have stood outside the prison, staring but not going in. c!dream has talked about wanting c!george to visit him, and has talked about c!george a lot to his visitors, notably c!tommy, whos very annoyed by it. anyway. it feels like more Stuff is gonna happen that will make me lose my entire mind. god i love gay shit
