Twenty-eight Constellations From The Temple Of Supreme Talisman
Pottery figurines of the Twenty-Eight Constellations from the Ziwei Pavilion (紫薇閣) in Supreme Talisman (Taifu) Temple (太符觀) are quietly chatting.
The Taoist temple itself, located in Fenyang (汾陽), Shanxi, was built in the fifth year of the Jin dynasty (1200). The Jade Emperor is enshrined in the main hall. The other halls on the both sides are dedicated to the Holy Mother of Houtu (后土聖母), aka Xiwangmu, The Queen Mother of the West, and to the Five Sacred Mountains (五嶽).
The figurines, just like some of the buildings, date back to the Ming dynasty. Each is about half a meter high. Of the original number, eight have been lost over the centuries. The rest were moved to the Shanxi Museum (山西博物院).

Things my self proclaimed “Mormon” mom has said about gender identity that I find neat:
“Spirit has no gender, so non binary people are really just more in-tune with their higher spiritual selves”
“Masculine energy and feminine energy has nothing to do with gender, those are two separate things”
“In the future there will be no gender, I can see it developing right now in your generation”

since its midterm/final season i wanted to talk about how sashisu would deal with it
i think gojo would be the type to be really talented when he was younger so he's used to goofing off in class and dozing off since he assumes he understands all the information, but when it's time for midterms he's staying up late making study guides and looking through quizlets to cram. he does not know how to study. at all. (he has a reels folder full of study reels but never looks at them) i still think he does very well on his exams though
getou's used to having to work for his grades i think, so he kinda understands the basics of studying and what type works for him. he's very competitive with gojo and will work to get to his level, which is why they often set up study dates. whether they actually get work done during these dates or not is irrelevant. he's totally one of those study with me pomodoro timer fiends
shoko is naturally brilliant, and is one of those students with pull allnighters before the final combining red bull with five hour energy. she definitely falls asleep during exams but somehow ends up doing well anyways, and refuses to get more sleep at night instead of having to snooze during the exam. she's the type to stockpile old textbooks on her subjects instead of using online study options, it somehow works.
after exams are over they fall into a pile on the bed and sleep for 4 days

My name is Sasha. I am a cosmic/astro/lunar witch. This means: I do a lot of rituals around the moon cycles, I tend to also do intention setting based on lunar phases, and live my life by astrological and cosmic patterns and magic.
I am also an astrologer (I’ve been practicing and studying for over 6 years). I’m a Sagittarius sun, Sagittarius moon, and Cancer ascendant in Tropical Astrology. {Scorpio Sun, Sagittarius Moon, and Gemini Ascendant in Western Sidereal.} I study all types of astrology but I’m most well versed in Western Tropical and am studying Traditional Hellenistic Tropical Astrology to blend the aspects of both together.
I also do tarot, oracle, & dabble with other forms of divination. Plus, I believe myself to be claircognizant and use this to help aide in my witchery.
I consider myself an Agnostic Pagan and Witchy. I am also and animist. I identified as a Hellenic Polytheist for a while but have recently decided to explore my ancestry and it’s relation to other spiritual paths (absolutely not in a folkish or racist way btw!) I am adopted and it’s always been really hard for me, not being able to explore my ancestry and do ancestor work within my spiritual practice.
I am possibly a mix of Anglo-Saxon, Devon, & Cornish descent. My adopted family is of Scottish, Welsh, & French descent. I’m still putting together my biological family tree. This very hard for me to do as I don’t have a lot of access to info being an adoptee. (I am not claiming I have certain rights to cultures because of this, I am just trying to learn about my ancestors and their spiritual practices to find answers about my own inherent beliefs about spirituality that I was born with.)
I have always had a love for religious and philosophical studies. I had very profound spiritual experiences at a very young age (for example: I knew I was reincarnated without even really knowing what death was or about spirituality). Most people in these spaces have a similar story to starting off Christian and not being satisfied (or being traumatized) by their church. I grew up Baptist and when I could explore other options after I left home I did.
I currently research: Christian Sects (especially Catholicism and Greek Orthodoxy, but also really enjoy niche fringe sects and “folk Catholicism” or “Christian Witchcraft”), Pagan and Polytheistic religions (Hellenic Polytheism, Proto Indo-European Polytheism, Anglo-Saxon Heathenry, Norse Heathenry, & Celtic Polytheism or more specifically Cornish/Devon/Welsh Druidism), Hinduism, Buddhism, Atheism, and honestly I could add more to list but I don’t want to ramble on. This does not mean I am an eclectic witch or that I mix pantheons or practices, I just enjoy reading/studying all types of world religions and I’m still searching for the right practice for me.
This is just a place where I can share and reblog helpful info and share aspects of my craft ~

Dramatic Twenty-eight Constellation Figurines From The Jade Emperor Temple
Twenty-eight Constellations (二十八星宿) provided an inexhaustible source of inspiration for Chinese religious art of the Song and Yuan dynasties. Such images are characterized by amazing expressiveness. Something you can never unsee.)
These samples date back to the Yuan dynasty. The statues are on display in the Jade Emperor Temple (玉皇廟), located in Jincheng (晉城), Shanxi.
The temple itself and the main hall were erected during the Northern Song dynasty. These stunning clay figures appeared a bit later and remained there during all subsequent architectural expansions and transformations.

Religious fundamentalists who seek to tell their own and others how to live, and atheists who live unquestioningly by the “bible” of whatever the corporate-funded patriarchal structures have labeled Science but automatically reject anything not labeled Science, are two groups of people that have significantly more in common to me than all the diverse range of peoples I see on the internet who’ve found their own forms of divinity to incorporate into their lives. Forms that they came to on their own, because those Gods, forces, rituals, symbols, ideals, concepts, whatever spoke to them personally; and forms that don’t seek to give them a list of rigid rules they must model their personal lives on.
Seriously, how beautiful it is to see so many in today’s world who are doing spirituality in ways that honor their own souls. The world isn’t becoming more faithless; more people are just finding expressions of a higher power or other spiritual concepts that actually empower them, in place of being policed about how to live or how to see the world by other people.

God did not make me, yet try I did to live in his image.
I came into the world sharp in places I should not have been. I hide claws and teeth and spines, I walk among men.

I described myself as irreligious earlier and that's certainly true : I don't attend church/mosque/shul or participate in any organised religion. but on the topic of 〜belief〜 ... I don't actually know....
like intellectually I know a deity probably doesn't exist. so I'm probably some flavour of atheist/agnostic. but when I think about the universe and life and look at old trees I'm like there must be something. surely. I can feel it. but then... is this deity omnipotent and uncaring because suffering, in which case I don't want to be a believer, or are they not omnipotent albeit capable of creation or just so fundamentally unhuman that any kind of prayer and devotion is utterly pointless.
the best description I can think of for now, is I am either an atheist who wants to believe, or a believer who doesn't

astrology is something humans have done forever and is fairly harmless/can be fun imo but also i think people are allowed to be annoyed if they go out to an event and it turns into a discussion of how everyone is assigned unchangeable personality traits based on birth (which is what bio determinism is ftr!) that they have no control over and no say in.
plus "oh wow that's so interesting you're Not a coldly ambitious uptight asshole like capricorns are supposed to be!" is not the compliment they think it is lol
