I really think that the draw to Solas for me was in his loneliness and the eccentricity solitude fosters. He says himself that he has basically no friends who are not spirits. In Veilguard this is only reinforced when he says it took him centuries to build a rapport with members of the rebellion. Sometimes it just hits me how lonely he was.

I also think it's interesting that, if the Inquisitor romances Blackwall, Solas tells him that he's glad he's found some happiness despite everything. And when Blackwall asks him if he has found someone, Solas says 'no, I find my peace elsewhere'... he's really not all that romantically inclined. One of the reasons I hate most solavellan fic is that people tend to write him as this super experienced fuckboy when the text tells us over and over again that he doesn't form bonds with living people very easily. I get that some people find the idea of being with someone who has thousands of years of experience sexy, but the text tells us repeatedly that he isn't especially invested in relationships with non-spirits, who are non-sexual, so he probably isn't as experienced as people think. I won't get into it too much bc I've already spoken about it, but he never properly learned to bond as a person and not as a spirit. So prior to DAI, he simply doesn't, and we can infer--especially given that he's described as never having been in love before--that he hasn't pursued romance a great deal in his life.

This is probably fed by my own bullshit (it's definitely fed by my own bullshit), but I think I had a hard time figuring out how to romance him bc they would only allow you to romance him with a female elf due to time constraints. This is despite him saying repeatedly that he loves Lavellan's spirit. When you're trans or nonbinary, it's hard to explain how exciting that is; to have characters who say explicitly that they do not define others by their bodies. It's very cool on its own, but for nb players in particular it's especially important. If you struggle with how you're perceived physically, it's nice to be able to make a character who is loved for who they actually are and not for what they look like. To have someone who sees them for who they are and not for what others want them to be. It's something people like me crave and I think this is why I'm so pro-queer Solas, pro-Solas doesn't give a shit about how on fleek your Lavellan's eyebrows are, etc. The physical doesn't factor in to why he loves. He simply loves others for their character, and although he often lets his first impressions colour his views of entire people, he is still willing to listen and learn if you give him a chance to be Wisdom and not Pride. We literally see him begin to question his own convictions re: the Dalish during the balcony scene. Contrary to popular fandom belief, he actually admits to being wrong all the time.

Idk man I just really like having a Lavellan that is an outsider all their life and isn't understood even by their own Clan, only to find her kindred spirit in Fen'harel, the adversary of her people. I'm obsessed with the fact that Solas fell in love for the first time with a mortal, who exists because of his mistake, who he loves enough to throw away his plans and only doesn't follow through because of his guilt. I need to write more fic jsdkdfhkjsg

Yes. Well, and no. At their core Florian is incredibly insecure, because there is a eternal mismatch between what they want and what they look like - for example they want to be the fittest and agilest they can be, but without the bulky muscles Finn fortunately loves, yet at the same time, those are the beauty ideal, so Flo get compliments on their physicality, which then is the two-edged sword of validating they're attractive (nice), but also fuelling slight gender dysphoria (not nice). They also grew into their looks quite a bit, still figuring out what looks good and feels good. If they dress more masc with short hair or more casual long hair, they're a "hot guy", but...Yeah. Thanks, I guess? But dressing more femme but too short and frilly etc can quickly look awkward. I want to convert the assymetrical top and skirt from @sentate's new set that would look SO GOOD on them.

However, rather being put together and hovering between slightly awkward and misgendered (depending what they got for on the masc-femme spectrum that day) is always way better than not put together at all, they have pretty privilege and in a world that is inherently against their identity, that's something good to take advantage of. And being seen as a hot white guy, however, uncomfortable it may feel in the moment, has piles of advantages.

No the hell no. Well not on purpose. They would more so despise that someone likes them if they don't like them back and be annoyed by it and not know what to do and just trying to stay friendly and calm and accidentally taking advantage of them in the meantime, but deliberatel manipulate, no.

Velvet did almost EVERYTHING in high school. She was in band, dance company, choir, thespian club, and arts committee. It was very stressful for her, but she really wanted to impress her parents. In the yearbook, she got the “Most Busy” superlative.

She had a huge friend group with most of the popular kids, including Veneer. Velvet was basically teen royalty at Mount Rageous High School.

Chronic pain 😔

She struggles with chronic pain in her lower back/hip. Velvet has to take many breaks between songs when performing because she hurts so bad. She goes to physical therapy every weekend, but it doesn’t really work. Velvet tore her muscle once and it never recovered right. (Me too girl, me too 😔)

Favorite Child

Veneer was the “golden child” of the family. He was always spoiled and loved by his parents, but that only made Velvet jealous. He didn’t like all the attention because he never got alone time. Veneer did even more than Velvet; he was in dance company, arts committee, dance outside of school, track, tennis, choir, and show choir. Even when Velvet was struggling with her ex, their parents didn’t comfort her. It was Veneer. He spends most of his time giving her the attention she never got from home.

Extremely protective

He absolutely loves his people. Veneer is extremely protective of his friends and sister. One time, Kid Ritz was getting flamed on social media, so Veneer backed him up. He said: “dont be sayin shit abt ppl when u know it aint true. kid ritz is one of my best friends and if yall start being bitchy towards him imma be bitchy towards yall”

Theatre Kid

Veneer was a huge theatre kid. He did a lot of productions during middle school; his first production he ever did he got a lead role. He was Sebastian in the Little Mermaid.

Doesn’t know his own strength

He is surprisingly strong. Veneer isn’t muscular or buff, but he can beat a bitch. He got into many fights in school and won almost all of them, but he doesn’t like to admit it. He has a killer grip, and that is why he could catch Velvet before she fell when Floyd flew out of the shoulder pads.

Casual smoker

He started smoking when he was around 16. Veneer would steal cigarettes from his grandmother and smoke them at home. His dumbass got addicted and it was very bad, but Velvet helped him quit. He was only a few months sober when they became famous.

Shopaholic

Veneer loves shopping! When he was a kid, he’d beg to go to the mall, and he’d buy so much stuff. He knows he has a bit of a spending problem, but why worry? He has money! Anyway, he always wants to go to the mall or even just the grocery store to buy something. Veneer likes to buy matching outfits or accessories for him and Velvet.

Hey, so when it comes to my fliff fic the next chapter will most likely be posted by the end of next week. Im getting a tattoo on Saturday so im going to be semi out of commission.

Floyd and creeks relationship is one that I’ve thought a lot about, you can actually see how i perceive them in my breek fic. But to sum it up: Floyd’s empathy and the fact that he was in a similar boat, on top of my psychological analysis of creek, equals them eventually actually bonding. Creek helps him with yoga and they talk about their boys together.

Creek is in no way attracted to Floyd, i genuinely despise fleek because of a lottt of reasons. Riff is head over heels for Floyd and treats him like royalty <3

What are some of your favourite ships in Trolls?

Most hated ships?

Honestly, I'm not much of a shipper in general but most of the ships in the Trolls fandom have no appeal to me.

I'm a big Broppy fan, I love these two and I think their relationship is so sweet and beautifully developed. A lot of my focus is still on Branch independently but I think these two are amazing together and I love writing about and thinking about their connection. Even if sometimes I want to shake Poppy like a ragdoll, especially during World Tour and the cartoons.

Ships like Fliff and Cliva I think are cute but I don't really care for them. I think the art for them is really cute and I'd definitely repost it or read comics about it but it's not something I'd go out of my way to find or really put any thought into. To each their own, and I can appreciate the idea.

I honestly don't really like the idea of John Dory with anyone, though. It doesn't feel right when I see ships with him in them, like Hickdory and whatever the name for him and Delta is. I might stand for AroAce John Dory, honestly. I just can't see him in a committed relationship but that could just be the commitment issues after BroZone.

Some things I just can't let slide, however. I think Fleek has some amazing angst potential and I adore some of the art for it but as a ship itself I despise it. I hate Creek with a passion. Love him as an antagonist but I don't like the idea of him having a redemption or finding happiness with the people he betrayed.

As I've seen these couples too often on AO3, what're your opinions on Fleek and Floydneer? Personally, I tend to avoid them

They're not my thing, and I tend to avoid Floydneer extra because of the 'teenager' comment, even though he reads as a young adult to me.

I honestly don't really have a ship I like for Floyd, or any of the brothers really, minus Bruce's canonical one.

John Dory strikes me as a guy who can't make a relationship work to save his life.

Clay and Viva are cute but I'm neutral on them. Like if I see Cliva in something I'm just like "Yeah that's fair" but I'm not seeking it out, if that makes sense.

And Floyd seems to me like the guy who's "working on himself" before he dates.

The Fleek Family

Floyd please to stop crying for two seconds you're ruining the updated family portrait-

FLEEK FAMILYYY!! Don't worry Floyd's only crying cuz he's not ready for both his babies to be grown up he wants them to stay babies forever!

When Floyd and Creek were down in the Depths, the two didn't think they were ever getting out. So when their relationship progressed rather quickly, and lived briefly with the Original Trolls, the two actually eloped! So when they DID find a way out, Floyd not only had to reintroduce Creek to Troll society, but had to introduce him as his newly-minted husband! Yeah that was rough day lol

Floyd and Creek were actually the first of the fam (aside Bruce) to start having kids. When Floyd found out he was carrying an egg, the two were over the moon about it, but scared as well. With Floyd's weakened physical state, his hair couldn't wrap around the egg properly, requiring him to manually incubate it, along with Creek's help. Rosebud did hatch a bit prematurely, but with lots of care, she grew up to be strong and healthy.

Now Snowdrop is where things get interesting. When Rosebud was eight years old, she found a small, white egg abandoned out in the woods after a huge snowstorm. When she brought it into the house, Floyd and Creek immediately raced it to a hospital. The egg was weak and cold, and the doctors told them outright itd be lucky to survive. But Floyd and Creek were stubborn, and did EVERYTHING they could to save it. And it worked! The egg hatches, revealing a solid white, Original Troll. They're not sure how an original egg made it to the surface, but they scooped them up anyway and raised them as their own, naming them Snowdrop.

In present day, the whole family still lives together out on the outskirts of Trollstopia, in the more rural areas of the city on a large ranch (think stardew valley). Floyd is a motherhen from hell who's constantly doting on his babies, making sure they dress warmly when they leave, asking if they ate breakfast that morning, fussing whenever they come home with any injury whatsoever (Which is mainly Rosebud cuz she's out there fighting criminals lol), while Creek just laughs in the background. He'd say something but he knows his kids love the attention and worrying keeps Floyd happy so he just let's it happen

Why are some people up in arms about Fliff and Fleek?

I've heard Riff is a teen, but how do you know for sure if that's the case? If true, please show proof.

No, I don't consider the wikis to be all that reliable. One of them got Smidge's age wrong: it listed her as four years old when she's actually an adult shortstack.

Fleek can be written any way. It can be written as a bad romance or it can be written as a wholesome relationship. Floyd can be written as a positive influence on Creek.

Creek can be written any way. He can be written as an unrepentant douche or he can be written as someone who has come to regret selling out his friends and entire tribe to the Bergens to save his own hide, and Floyd's kindness could make Creek's heart ache. This cover pretty much sums up that possibility.

And this is all coming from someone who doesn't even ship Fliff or Fleek.

If you just take the time to sit down, think, ask questions and listen, you might come to some realizations and learn a thing or two; and you might come to realize that ships such as Bella Swan X Edward Cullen aren't really all that problematic compared to inc3st, child/adult, and sapient/nonsapient.

(For the sake of this discussion, please ignore the icky Breaking Dawn crud and focus on the nature of Bella and Edward's relationship in the first and/or second instalment. I haven't watched Twilight in a long time and I don't think I watched the entire second movie.)

If anything, Bella Swan X Edward Cullen is just a bad romance, and I'd chalk people shipping it up to having some sort of kink. It's okay not to like that kinda ship, but please don't ruin it for people. The block button and the options to blacklist tags and words are your friends.

The aforementioned icky three aren't bad romance, they're just gross! To call them any form of romance would be an insult to romance as a whole.

“Bakagou we need to go!” you shouted to Bakugou who was in the room next to her also getting ready. “We’re already late to kiriboo’s event and you know how he gets”.

“Really?” He said, sarcasm laced in his voice. “Elaborate please.”

“Boi stop playing, for real!” you laughed.

You began texting Kirishima, your’s and Bakugou’s long time best friend, apologising for your tardiness and telling him how you should be on your way soon. Both of you were unofficial but today you were planning to announce your relationship at his event. Unbeknownst to you, his ex -Mina- was gonna be there too.

“Shut up, oompa loompa body ass b*tch” he smirked; he could hear your laughter from where he was. ”Are you not done yet!”

“Almost!” you said.

Time skip

Walking into the club, everyone knew that you were the baddest b*tch, waist snatched, wig popping, makeup popping, nails on fleek, ass looking delectable. Heads turned everywhere you stepped and everybody, I mean EVeryBody knew you and your best friend were that b*tch how are you? how are we? we are that b*tch.

However, as you got closer to where Kirishima was you noticed something was off. You could hear whispers and at first, you weren’t bothered because duh it was you the baddest b*tch in the building but after a while, it was starting to get really annoying.

Bakugou also picked up on your change in mood and placed a hand on the small of your back. The anger you were feeling slowly oozed away at his touch, but you knew he was getting angry too.

“So people have a lot to f*cking say today, huh.” he said, his jaw clenching.”Don’t worry babe, imma give these extras something to f*cking talk about.” His quirk started to stir.

When you finally found Kirishima, both you and Katsuki found the cause of all the whispering.

During your altercation, Mina had strode up towards you along with a slightly embarrassed Eijirou.

“Since you wanna have a conversation about me, Eijirou and I are gonna do it together cos we do things to-ge-ther.” You whipped round to see the pair and a crowd before you.

“We … we … b*tch who the f*ck is we” you said whilst taking your heels off ready to fight. Mina did the same too but whilst smugly holding Eijirou’s hand to rub it in your face that she was the one in the position you were supposed to be.

You turned to Kirishima who looked away from your devastated face. “What the f*ck is the b*tch talking about?” your voice broke a little but you held onto whatever dignity you had left. Mina tried to lunge at you with her shoe but Kirishima grabbed her arm that wasn’t holding her shoe and held her in place whilst Bakugou grabbed your waist and pulled you back and out of her reach.

Chaos broke out as you both were arguing back and forth not really able to throw hands since you both were being held back. You could hear people in the crowd asking what was going on and some trying to explain the situation to curious onlookers, You noticed that Eijirou wasn’t really choosing sides but he was just staying with the girl he came with, still keeping his cool.

“You ain’t sh*t!” you screamed at Mina which she proceeded to say “Ask him where he’s been last night”.

You knew she was bluffing because you and Kirishima had spent the whole yesterday together.

“Liiiaaaarrrr… Liiiiaaaaaarrrrr,” you kept repeating over and over again.

“Oh really, but who’s he standing with right now?” This left you speechless. Even if you wanted to speak only a tiny squeak would have come out.

“Ooo so she’s the side piece,”

You could hear in the crowd. At this point, you had to leave because the reality of this situation was threatening to suffocate you. Bakugou was trying to console you as you were on the brink of tears, pushing against his chest and clutching at yours because you couldn’t breathe, tears blinding your vision.

You grabbed your stuff and quickly left the premises so you wouldn’t end up breaking down crying in front of all these people.

“They really got me f*cked up!” you said on your way out.

“Just ignore these extras and walk away,”

It was really surprising for you that Bakugou was the levelheaded person in this situation. You turned to Bakugou, stray tears streaming out of your eyes.

“But what the f*ck, you and her have been messing with each other for some time and you never thought to tell me she was messing with my dude all this time!” you cried. “She was sitting next to you, rubbing against you, telling you she had a crush on you, flirting with you like what the f*ck”.

“I didn’t know!” he said “ What was I supposed to say, you are mad now at me but when I was upset about the situation I was the bad guy, I was being overprotective but now I’m still the bad guy! What the f*ck am I supposed to do!”

Bakugou wasn’t sure what to do because his so-called long time friend was sneaking dating his best friend and came in with another girl, thus upsetting his best friend. Their friendship? That was looking dead right not.

“Just get in the car,” he said exasperated.

“I’m not getting in the car because I wanna just know why.” You finally broke down crying. All the hurt and pain that you were feeling in that situation came pouring out of you. Your head resting against Bakugou’s chest; soaking his shirt with your tears as he tried to console you.

“Don’t cry he ain’t even worth it,” he said, lifting your head off his chest so he could wipe the rivers of tears that were flowing out of your eyes.

“My feelings is hurt frenn my feelings is hurt!” you said turning your head away from him.

“It’s not worth you shedding no tears babe!” he tried consoling you “Cmon, let’s get you into the car.”

He proceeded to usher you into the passenger’s seat of his car, then jog over to the driver’s side to climb in and drive off.

Once he got in and put his seatbelt on he kissed your forehead and told you ‘i love you’ wiping your remaining tears away, smiling softly as he did so.

Time skip

When you both got to your house, he carried you to your bed, removed your makeup and wig, placed your bonnet on your head and got you changed so you could sleep. He placed the blanket over you and put your phone on charge. He then hugged you till you fell asleep.

Once you had fallen asleep he got a blanket and pillow so he could sleep on the floor next to you and watch you whilst you slept, a hand holding yours drawing small circles with his thumb.

As he drifted off to sleep, he was startled awake by a ping from your phone
