are you just never going to answer gg asks again or what
I mean, you're assuming I get all that many asks about GG these days. The show ended three years ago, and while it's still one that I love very dearly, I don't know if I have all that much left to say about it - I answered a lot of asks while the show was airing and in the year after it, and I wrote a lot of fic for it. While there are still some wips I'd like to finish one day (and it's those that I still sometimes get asks about), the truth is I haven't worked on them in a minute and don't know when inspiration will strike again (because inspiration does still sometimes strike - I even posted a new fic back in January).
I don't know. I'm allowed to be excited about other things, and sending an ask like this doesn't exactly make me want to run back to what's left of the fandom.
#i'm always going to be grateful for the gg fandom experience because i do think it helped me through a chapter in my life#both with moving interstate and re-establishing my life and of course with the covid lockdowns#and i am still very good friends with some people in the fandom but we mostly talk off tumblr these days#actually i'm going to the states and meeting megan in person in a few weeks which is crazy and exciting#but i'd be lying if i said that the experience was all roses and it's definitely shaped how i've engaged with fandoms since#anyway i do still follow what jenna and the cast are doing too#and i'll be watching grosse pointe garden society when it airs in particular#am very excited for melissa fumero and aja naomi king to be in jenna's new show!#trying to end on a positive as usual haha#gg asks#welcome to my ama

Three songs for Far Cry The Silver Chronicles, A Radioactive Calamity of Love, Bombs & Gore and Life, Despair & Monsters. Also the last song is a song from Season 1 of Hazbin Hotel, which I'm aware isn't fully out yet, so maybe SPOILERS! Avoid the last song if you care enough. Music below:
Nadi Sinclair, a sharpshooter amongst Task Force 141, is forced to go on the run with Soap and Price in the Call To Arms duology after killing Shepard and try their darnedest to put an end to Makarov once and for all (therefore running with the metaphorical wolves after the ultranationalist leader). Though alternatively, this could be after Call To Arms, where she joins up with the Project at Eden's Gate under Alexander Khaos and Jacob Seed's tutelage, where, she literally and figuratively runs with the wolves, away from society's expectations, technology and whatnot. Song below:
youtube
"Trick or treat, what would it be? I walk alone, I'm everything My ears can hear and my mouth can speak My spirit talks, I know my soul believes
But we're running out of time (Time, oh) All the echoes in my mind cry There's blood on your lies The sky's open wide There is nowhere for you to hide The hunter's moon is shining
I'm running with the wolves tonight I'm running with the wolves I'm running with the wolves tonight I'm running with the wolves I'm running with the wolves tonight I'm running with the wolves I'm running with the wolves tonight I'm running with the wolves
A gift, a curse, they track and hurt Say can your dream, in nightmares seems A million voices silent screams Where hope is left so incomplete."
"cardigan" is a specific song that makes me think of Ortega "Ore" Brantley's final moments in The House Always On Top, as he stands in a dam that has an active nuclear warhead nearby, injured beyond belief, with one of his father's most dangerous spellcasters, Aggravor, keeping him in one place with nothing more than one hand touching his back, a fatal touch that would soon kill him whenever Aggravor chooses. And Ore reflects with what little time he has left on his loved ones, his companions, friends, family, mother, sister, the innocents killed by Urias under his watch, even the recent loss of Ryder, the Courier's presence being the cause of why he came to Hoover Dam in the first place if only because he saw a slim chance she survived and had to jump to it before it was too late. He thinks over his regret of not killing his father sooner, of being too late to save others, but also his accomplishments, over the fact his sister, and both of their students, had survived, and Ress had evolved far from the arrogant and immaturely entitled girl she started off as. And with that, when Ress finally enters the room, he makes sure to look upon her with pride, and knowing she won't be needing him anymore, verbally passes the torch to her. He has full confidence that she will end their father's blight even when Aggravor ends his life. This song can also be towards Ress as she loses her big brother, the one constant support in her life, the one person never willing to give up on her no matter how much of an ass she made of herself, the one person she thought she would walk the Earth with forever and ever due to their ageless immortality, so she would never be alone. Her big brother who took the roles of teacher, friend and father all in one, always there to guide and support her want for freedom (unlike Urias, who would have used her as a pawn), always there to say "I'll take it from here" whenever she messed up, whenever she needed help fighting. Which must be why Ore's last words, though reassuring, had hurt so much as well. Song below:
youtube
"To kiss in cars and downtown bars Was all we needed You drew stars around my scars But now I'm bleeding Cause I knew you stepping on the last train Marked me like a bloodstain, I, I knew you Tried to change the ending, Peter losing Wendy I, I knew you Leaving like a father, running like water When you are young they assume you know nothing But I knew you'd linger, like a tattoo kiss I knew you'd haunt all of my what-ifs The smell of smoke would hang around this long Cause I knew everything when I was young I knew I'd curse you for the longest time Chasing shadows in the grocery line I knew you'd miss me once the thrill expired And you'd be standing in my front porch light And I knew you'd come back to me You'd come back to me. And you'd come back to me. And you'd come back."
In The Thorned Crown of Iron Thrones, much like canon, Aegon II Targaryen isn't a good brother, nor is he a first son to be proud of (as evident by his father's absolute indifference with him and his mother's disappointment), even less a candidate to be a king of all things (sometimes he was thankful it was his half-sister who would sit the Iron Throne, though he knew that meant him and his younger siblings would be put to the sword, which was the only downside). He knew this to be true, everyone knew, even his own grandsire recognized more potential in Aemond even after his younger brother lost his eye. After the funeral of their older cousin Laena, after Aemond lost an eye to their half-sister's children for claiming a dragon which their deceased cousin had ridden on, after the arguments and screaming between everyone on both sides, for justice, for blood, for punishment, for some shred of care from the man who conceived them. And especially after hearing Corvus, the only older sibling that treated Aegon, his brothers, his sister, and his mother with more decency and kindness than their apathetic father and scornful half-sister (despite Corvus conviction to continue helping his adopted sister keep her claim), break down when father revealed the most damning and life-shattering secret about his "adopted" son (thanks Dad), Aegon couldn't handle it. Couldn't handle the shame, disappointment and hopelessness of the situation, so that night, he ran off. He ended up running off into Driftmark's woods, hoping that, maybe if he disappeared, everything would get better, that his half-sister that his father doted on more than Aegon and his siblings, or his younger brother who would do mother and his grandsire proud, or even their recently discovered half-brother, as merciful and decisive as he is (though Aegon highly doubted either father nor grandsire would allow it to happen), would sit the dreadful throne, be the ruler people wanted. Hell, he would even have Cecil to sit the throne, if it meant the self-proclaimed Royce woman would send her father, his terrifying uncle, to the Wall and marry off his siblings to noble houses willing to care for them. Not him. He wished to be forgotten, to curl up and shrink and shrink until he couldn't be seen anymore. He had not intended of coming across an ex-assassin woman who called herself Okkotsu, who had tried to murder his father back in the day and had a special connection with the recently deceased Laena. Nor had he foreseen them connecting with their troubles, through such unorthodox means. Okkotsu may not know what Aegon is exactly going through, but she knows enough to help lift his spirits up... through the power of accepting yourself as a sopping wet sad little meow-meow blorbo? Song below:

[I'm not going to include all the lyrics, just the ones I find matter to these two downtrodden losers. Also LOTS-OH cursing here]
"So things look bad, and you're backs against the wall Your whole existence seems fuckin' hopeless You're feeling filthy as a dive bar bathroom stall Can't face the world sober and dopeless You've lost your way, you think your life is wrecked Well, let me just say you're correct!"
"Wait what?"
"You're a loser, baby A loser, goddamn baby You're a fucked-up little whiny bitch."
"Hey!"
"You're a loser just like me."
...
"This supposed to make me feel better?"
"There was a time I thought that no one could relate To the gruesome ways in which I'm damaged But lettin' walls down, it can sometimes set you straight! We're all living in the same shit sandwich."
...
"I'm a loser, honey A schmoozer and a dummy But at least I know I'm not alone."
"You're a loser."
"Just like me."
...
"I'm trapped and it gets worse with every hour."
"You're a loser, baby."
"A loser, but just maybe if we-"
"Eat shit together, things will end up differently."
"It's time to lose your self-loathin' Excuse yourself, let hope in, baby Play your card, be who you are."
"A loser, just like me."

Briarlights death makes sense to me. As much as I love her character, the movement technology you’ve come up with wouldn’t be enough to keep her alive in a society where her nether regions are constantly exposed to the outdoors. She would get UTIs and kidney infections very quickly, which would be fatal when you can’t feel pain. My partner has to use catheters to avoid them (he is paralyzed in the same spot Briarlight would be.)
I think it’s disingenuous to have a character that’s paralyzed but have no other health problems or concerns regarding it, even if it’s uncomfortable to think about for some readers. It’s just as ableist to minimize the additional struggles she’d face as it is to kill her off unnecessarily.
Not accusing you of ableism, but expressing my concern. They’d need to find a way for her to poop and pee in a way that’s sanitary and a way to combat infections long term - even if the thought is “gross” to some people it’s the reality she’d have to live with. She should, at the very least, remain immunocompromised.
That is a valid concern. I will keep this in mind-- I'll make sure to note her immediately being cleared out of camp at the first sign of sniffles to avoid it. My cats can do some very minor building and there are now several cats on Jayfeather's Garden Patrol, it wouldn't be too much of a problem to make that area into a comfortable "satellite camp".
I do want to add though that my most important guiding principle is a stronger narrative which includes better portrayals of disabled characters, not perfect rugged woodsman realism. The medicine I add and the guides I write are in the hopes of better representing the lives of the real-life people who see themselves in the fantasy battle cats.
Realism does factor into that of course! But it goes out the door the minute it would smash up against a disabled character's inclusion. This is a series for human beings like your partner; as close to it as I can get by bending the setting when needed.
For example, Epilepsy
Epilepsy was deadly before modern medicine. Full stop. The herbs I created for that guide would not save someone like Shadowsight, whose convulsions are at extreme risk of turning into Status Epilepticus. It would help manage, but Shadowsight's life would have been very brief.
All the chamomile in the world wouldn't replace phenobarbital... or even the older medications, barbituates. Barbituates have been replaced and good riddance, but it's important to understand that even this drug known for causing EXTREME lethargy and horrible side effects was revolutionary. It saved countless lives.
But I'm not here to write a story for the real-life horror that is epilepsy in a pre-modern society. I'm here for the parent who personally thanked me for making their daughter feel less alone.
Evil spirits attacking the living! God knocking over trees! Attacking a bulldozer! That all happens; there's no reason they can't help Briarlight too!!
But I'll make sure to include her being immunocompromised. And I'll include ways they handle that. Just like I included a cat engineer who made a blanket sled.
So... suggestion accepted! I will keep this in mind.
Briarlight's Canon Death
...I will maintain though that the canonical death of Briarlight was one of the worst, most short-sighted, cruelest decisions that has ever been made in this series.
Because ultimately Briarlight is not a real person. She is a writing choice. She is a character based on Vicky's paralyzed cousin, "Dan," and Briarlight was directly modeled on Dan's personality and recovery.
What did the new writing team do, the minute they were writing a series without Vicky? Killed Briarlight to fucking greencough. For shock points. Narrative moves right on back to the MAIN conflict-- Alderheart having feelings for Velvet and Jayfeather enforcing the vow of chastity. ShadowClan officially falls apart in the background lol
It was never about realism, or realistic portrayal of disability.
This series doesn't care about realism when cats have bloody Freddy Kruger deaths in their sleep, or when shadow goo starts eating cat hell, or when lightning strikes Shadowsight. But they suddenly care about how realistic it is that the only paralyzed character survives greencough?? No! Of course not!
In the middle of the CONSTANT "Ohh she's finally in heaven where she can run and jump and not have a disabled life"? And the infamous Squirrelflight's Hope line, "You don't want to be alive again, Squirrelflight! You might become disabled like BRIARLIGHT"
(WHICH BTW THEY STILL HAVE NOT REMOVED DESPITE PROMISING IT YEARS AGO)
I absolutely do not believe for a second that they had a realistic portrayal of an immunocompromised cat in mind when they did it! Hell, screw it. I'll just say it outright;
I firmly believe that the new writing team killed Briarlight because they did not want to deal with her.
I flatly refuse to give them charity towards this choice. At NO POINT did they earn a speck of good faith. They continued every negative trend that was set up by the previous writers (including Vicky herself tbf), and went a step further by killing her to "we need to get rid of some randos" disease.
Not only that; but the Clan dynamics were NEVER the same after her death, because there was no character who could replace her personality. In this cast of cardboard cats, they plucked out one of the few optimists with a clear, unique perspective, not shared by ANYONE else.
My ire wouldn't JUST be because they happened to kill a disabled character in the way they did (though that is frustrating on its own imo). It's because it was Briarlight.
I hope every writer involved with the decision to kill Briarlight in the "Nothing is Happening! Quick! Kill Someone!" book of AVoS chokes on it. I will DIE on this hill and my blood will never wash out of the grass.
#I've been getting a surprising amount of interest in the idea of portraying some of the 'grosser' aspects of disability#and illness in general while we're at it#I don't mind showing it but I do want to strike a balance for those who are more squeamish#Maybe I'll make follow-up guides when I tackle certain disabilities where it's relevant?#Maybe I can save the very sensitive things for the post-cut of a post?#My posts would get a lot longer though and I notice people are less likely to spread and share very long posts#Abelism#Disability#Briarlight#Bonefall Rewrite#Warrior Cats Analysis#I hope the part on realism makes sense#Realism to me is for fun and as a means to an end#Not THE point of what I do#I am an opponent of the sorts of people who say ''Oh there can't be [minority] in this because Realism''#Yeah well there CAN be two of my fingers in ur eye NERD#Not that I'm accusing you of that either anon dsgffd#Just explaining my own feelings too you get me?#You clearly have a person in your life you care immensely about and want a good portrayal!!#I will try my hardest to give you that

Appendix IV: Sociability of Animals
That the sociability of animals was greater when they were less hunted by man, is confirmed by many facts showing that those animals who now live isolated in countries inhabited by man continue to live in herds in uninhabited regions. Thus on the waterless plateau deserts of Northern Thibet Prjevalsky found bears living in societies. He mentions numerous “herds of yaks, khulans, antelopes, and even bears.” The latter, he says, feed upon the extremely numerous small rodents, and are so numerous that, “as the natives assured me, they have found a hundred or a hundred and fifty of them asleep in the same cave” (Yearly Report of the Russian Geographical Society for 1885, p. 11; Russian). Hares (Lepus Lehmani) live in large societies in the Transcaspian territory (N. Zarudnyi, Recherches zoologiques dans la contrée Transcaspienne, in Bull. Soc. Natur. Moscou, 1889, 4). The small Californian foxes, who, according to E.S. Holden, live round the Lick observatory “on a mixed diet of Manzanita berries and astronomers’ chickens” (Nature, Nov. 5, 1891), seem also to be very sociable.
Some very interesting instances of the love of society among animals have lately been given by Mr. C.J. Cornish (Animals at Work and Play, London, 1896). All animals, he truly remarks, hate solitude. He gives also an amusing instance of the habit of the prairie dogs of keeping sentries. It is so great that they always keep a sentinel on duty, even at the London Zoological Garden, and in the Paris Jardin d’Acclimatation (p. 46).
Professor Kessler was quite right in pointing out that the young broods of birds, keeping together in autumn, contribute to the development of feelings of sociability. Mr. Cornish (Animals at Work and Play) has given several examples of the plays of young mammals, such as, for instance, lambs playing at “follow my leader,” or at “I’m the king of the castle,” and their love of steeplechases; also the fawns playing a kind of “cross-touch,” the touch being given by the nose. Altogether we have, moreover, the excellent work by Karl Gross, The Play of Animals.

What Law & Order Thursday Could Look Like Next Season as Organized Crime Moves to Peacock
What Law & Order Thursday Could Look Like Next Season as Organized Crime Moves to Peacock
Could a Criminal Intent Reboot Be the Answer?
Coming off the heels of my recent post on the current state of the franchise and the news that broke earlier this week (via The Hollywood Reporter) - Law & Order: Organized Crime has a deal being made to be renewed to run a fifth season, exclusively on Peacock for 10 episodes, the first time an L&O series will air first-run episodes on a streaming service. NBC has yet to announce any plans on the 3rd hour of Law & Order Thursday, which begs the question is: what will Thursday nights look like next season as there will likely be a void in the 3rd hour without another L&O series in its place?
NBC's newest arrivals, Found and The Irrational could potentially be scheduled on Thursdays in the new season. NBC also has two dramas, Dr. Wolf and The Hunting Party, set for next season, with two more drama pilots: Suits L.A. (spinoff from USA Network's original series, Suits) and Grosse Pointe Garden Society — in the works. Meanwhile, NBC could also acquire rights to air Canada's CityTV's version of L&O, Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent (10 episode 1st season) -- which hasn't been renewed for a 2nd season as of yet.
But from a Law & Order franchise/Wolf World perspective, this is a chance to see if there is another new iteration of the brand that can be in addition to the already robust brand as Wolf's worlds continually build themselves (the FBI franchise on CBS as well as One Chicago on NBC Wednesdays - which all are renewed for the upcoming season).
We all know pilot order spin-offs Hate Crimes (co created by Criminal Intent and SVU executive producer Warren Leight, originally posed for Peacock) and For The Defense (co created by CSI veteran executive producer Carol Mendelsohn) went to the back-burner and never became series. Also Wolf has the True Crime iteration (co creator L&O and CI executive producer Rene Balcer) of the brand that while isn't canceled in an official capacity, NBC hasn't shown recent interest in seeing it go on. Then there are 3 canceled former spinoffs; Criminal Intent (ended in 2011), Los Angeles (ended in 2011), and Trial by Jury (ended in 2005).
In interviews (one here via TV Line) and across social media, former stars Vincent D'Onofrio (Det. Robert Goren), Kathryn Erbe (Lt. Alexandra Eames), Alicia Witt (Det. Nola Falacci), and Annabella Sciorra (Lt. Carolyn Barek) as well as former executive producers Warren Leight, Julie Martin, Norberto Barba, and Michael Chernuchin - who all reunited as executive producers on SVU - have shown or voiced interest in a TV reboot of some kind. Star D'Onofrio stated on Twitter/X that the decision to reboot would ultimately be up to creator Dick Wolf but that he would love to reunite with Kathryn to do it.
The question is: would a Criminal Intent reboot be worth it for Wolf Entertainment/NBC to reboot and/or would it suffer the same fate as Organized Crime?
The answer? Yes. It would be totally be worth it for all involved. While stating the obvious, it brings our old favorites back into a new era of television and showing that element of the criminal mind and "why dunnit" in this new age that we live in, and of course the number of new jobs created as well as old jobs reopened; to this day Criminal Intent has something that Organized Crime hasn't, and that is syndication rights with a solid following still tuning in (even after the show has been off the air well over a decade)!
It is a factor that helped reboot the mothership series back in 2022 after NBC canceled it in 2010, the solid audience of syndication viewers (i.e. TNT, ION Television, WEtv), sales from home entertainment (DVDs/Amazon) and streaming services (Peacock) aided in NBC making the decision easy to reboot the flagship Law & Order series. And while the reboot isn't NBC's highest rated show, it's in the top 20 and performs pretty solid, enough to score a full 22-episode twenty-fourth (S4 of reboot), season next season. It also proves to be a great lead-in for SVU (renewed for S26), that comes on right after.
And much like the reboot and even SVU which has reinvented itself more than once over it's 25 seasons, not only could old viewers return, but this also opens the door to introduce the series to new viewers as well, especially if our favorites do make a return on screen.
What do you all think? With Organized Crime going to Peacock, could a Criminal Intent (or other spinoff) reboot help revitalize NBC Thursday nights as well as the franchise? Or is it time to try something new with the brand? Sound off!

Wake Up Call - AxelShine
TURTLE DOVES!!!
GUESS WHO DECIDED TO PARTICIPATE IN THEIR OWN PROMPT CHALLENGE
Finally
And I'm coming in hot with some AxelShine 🔧☀️
REMINDER:
This is a WLW Romance. Axel and Sunshine are GIRLFRIENDS. This series is not for everyone, and that's ok 🫶🏼💕
Disclaimer:
Axel belongs to @shiftandshade, and I appreciate the hell out of her for letting me write Axel into Sunshine's shenanigans 🥰💖
Wake Up Call
After Axel and Sunshine had 'retired' from their positions with the mercenary group, the women found a nice house out in the middle of nowhere to live away from the craziness of society.
Small farm. Horses. Honeybees. A sad garden that Sunshine religiously killed off.
The good life.
Axel had her own garage in town that she worked at a few days a week - just to keep herself busy and to keep her mechanic skills up to par.
Sunny stayed home and cared for the animals, did the household chores, and tortured loved that poor garden.
Axel had taken a few months off to really relax before she had decided to buy her garage. This meant that Sunshine was used to her morning cuddles.
So, when Axel started getting up at the ass crack of dawn to get ready, and Sunshine woke up next to a cold bed, she was a sad, sad girl.
"Axel, why don't you wake me up in the morning, when you get up for work?" Sunshine asked as they were climbing into bed together one night.
"Sunshine. I love you. I'm not waking you up before the *actual* sun shines through those windows."
"But… I love you too, and I want to get up with you," Sunshine pouted, giving Axel unintentional puppy dog eyes.
"Don't give me that look," the mechanic said with a quirked brow, a smile playing at the corner of her mouth as she slid into the bed next to the blonde. "And I want you to get enough sleep, love. Before you get up and care for our home. Besides. I've never left without giving you a kiss," she told her Sunshine.
Sunny sighed in frustration but also knew she wouldn't be any different if the tables were turned.
A couple of weeks went by and Sunny was still pouting.
She wanted to see Axel off to work. She wanted to have breakfast with her.
She wanted to reciprocate that kiss in the morning before Axel left for the day.
So, being the little shit she was, Sunny set the alarm on her watch and wore it to bed that night.
The first time was a bust. She got up at 630 to find Axel had already drank her coffee, eaten her breakfast, and was currently getting ready in the bathroom.
"Geez, Axel…" complained Sunshine as she shuffled into the bathroom, scaring the life out of the poor mechanic.
"SUNSHINE!" Axel squawked with a startled jump. "What are you doing up?!"
Sunshine pointed to the toilet.
"Ah. Let me step out, for you," she acknowledged, kissing Sunny on her way out the door.
Sunshine grabbed Axel's shirt to give her a few more pecks. "What time do you even get up?" She asked, her kisses getting increasingly longer.
Axel answered without giving it a second thought. "5:15" Sunny's kisses were a bit needier than pecks, if we're being honest. They had Axel's brain in a fog.
"Before God. You get up before God," Sunny sassed, pulling a snicker from the other woman.
"Which is why I don't wake you up," Axel replied, poking Sunny in the stomach. "Now use the bathroom and go back to sleep, angel. Before the devil comes after you and those kisses."
Sunshine smiled into one more kiss, but did as Axel requested.
That night Sunshine reset her alarm. And was very excited.
It was 4:15am.
Gross.
How do people live like this? Thought the blonde as she snuck out of bed and down to the kitchen.
But! This was worth it. Axel was worth it.
Sunny finished her little shenanigans in the kitchen and made it back to bed by 5am. She laid in bed quietly with a smirk on her face.
15 minutes later, she heard the tiny beeps of Axel's tactical watch.
Axel sighed and looked over at the sleeping blonde next to her. What she wouldn't give for another ten minutes to cuddle her.
As she went to get out of bed, she felt a hand grab her arm. She turned with a surprised look to see Sunshine, eyes wide, silently pleading for her to stay.
How was she supposed to resist that face?
Axel smiled and slunk back under the covers, as Sunshine grinned and yanked the mechanic impossibly close.
"Ten minutes," Axel said with a chuckle as Sunshine let out a quiet squeal of delight.
Axel laid next to Sunshine, basking in her warmth as the blonde dragged her blunt nails through the undercut of her hair.
"I know what you're doing, Sunshine," Axel snickered through a warning.
"Is it working?" Sunshine smiled, dragging those delicious nails down Axel's neck, making her shiver.
"Yes. And I have to get ready for work," she told the blonde, burying her face in Sunshine's neck and nipping the soft skin.
"But!" Sunshine complained.
"But?! It's already 5:45!" Axel laughed, as Sunny pulled her back to her lips. “I was only supposed to be here for ten minutes!”
Sunshine let out a mischievous giggle, "I know. But you don't have to worry. Your breakfast is in the warmed oven. The coffee is brewed, and your lunch is packed and in the fridge," the blonde told her, nuzzling her nose, and making Axel chase her lips for another kiss.
"God, I love you," Axel whispered.
"I love you too. And you can just stick with calling me Sunshine," She winked.

Rose Nicholas ; The Ultimate Good Cop (Danganronpa The Privileged Traitor)
Rose Nicholas (As it sounds) ; 21 Years Old ; From Chicago, Illinois ; The Ultimate Good Cop
Rose Nicholas is a student of Hopes Peak College Class B-3 in Danganronpa The Privileged Traitor. She is nobody’s favorite character.
Rose is a privileged kid, as someone who was born in a family with high influence, her father being the country treasury and her mother being a military captain. She was born weaker than an average infant, but that didn’t stop her.
Growing up, she’s always had a dream of making the world a better place, as the head of the entire country’s police force.
So she worked HARD for that goal of making the world her image and training to be a proper police officer. She quickly became a heavily established member of the force despite just being in training, and earned high respect from her chief for her ‘sweet’ personality.
It’s in the name really. Rose is sweet as roses. She’s the good cop. She’s the one who always has the moral high ground and can’t ever be wrong ever-
But to her, that isn’t enough. As she’s had a few problems. Problems that are not her fault at all why even suggest such-?!
One, she doesn’t actually have friends. No one wants to be her friend. She’s not sure why, as all she ever does towards her peers is judge them and tell them exactly what they are, and most of them are degenerates or degenerate sympathizers so really they don’t deserve her-
Two, her little sister, Rain Nicholas. Ever since the speck was born, Rain has been the favorite by everyone but the chief, who prefers Rose. Rain follows Rose to a T and mimics everything she does, to the point where she too becomes a cop, and is sometimes said to be stronger and more reliable on the field than even Rose.
But Rose calmly tolerates it to Rains face cause she’s the good cop. Despite how erratic her sister is to the point of sabotaging Rose’s training grades and social life sometimes. Everything wrong with Roses life is totally just Rain’s fault and not Roses. But someone has to keep her little sister in check. Even if it is extremely grating to even look her in the eye-
Rose is VERY passionate about her ideologies. She will protect those who need it, she claims. She will make the world a better place, she claims. As a member of the police, she is the good figure of society and can do no wrong, she claims.
In her mind, a perfect world is reached when she is at front and center and in charge. It is law to have rose gardens in your home. The evil men are in jail or dead. The ‘good’ men are stuck in office where they belong. Baseball is illegal. Bollywood is displayed prominently. No debt. No murders. No suffering for anyone but the evil party. And there are no vigilantes of any kind cause those people are objectively evil-
Rose has an absolute awful time taking criticism towards herself. Towards Rain, she absolutely supports it, but towards herself that’s another story.
See, to Rose, because she is so sweet and a lawful good, she’s never wrong.
Everything she does is objectively the correct thing to do in any situation. If she’s not calling the shots, or agreeing with the shot being taken, there’s a problem.
Every opinion she has is objectively a fact. Anything else is not a different opinion, it is simply a lie.
Don’t even slightly imply you don’t agree with her. She will let you know you’re wrong. After all, disagree with her and you’re just exposing yourself as a pure evil person out to destroy the world and commit global crimes.
Agree with Rain? You’re an awful person cause no one should ever side with the bad cop.
Not follow her plan? You’re a criminal sympathizer who wants bad stuff to happen.
Don’t agree with an opinion she has? You’re spreading lies and you’re a gross whiny human being for it.
Just simply don’t like her? You’re misogynistic and a disgusting piece of garbage that deserves to rot cause CLEARLY you just don’t like her because she is a woman with power. And you don’t, so you’re just jealous and insecure. Disliking Rose is objectively wrong.
At least that’s all what Rose thinks. That’s her headspace when it comes to opposition.
Still, with her power, she can get out of basically anything cause she has the excuse of being correct and justified, and she’s also a privileged kid so…
With it, she and Rain are the officers watching the other students when the whole school scam reveals itself as a killing game. Both the cops are ready to take action and find out who is running the game so justice can be served and the innocent students can be protected. After all, it’s Roses job to protect the others, it’s Rains job to smash stuff.
Get on Roses good side and she will protect you. Just… don’t get on her bad side.
Victim? Killer? Survivor?
I’m not gonna lie, out of everyone in this cast, Rose is at the bottom of my list no contest. Some of the scenes with her I’ve outlined so far, I’ve felt angry at multiple occasions because of her. It’s all intentional, but I will be very surprised if anyone actually likes this character at all.
Also yes, Rain Nicholas is also a student and a character. Take a wild guess what Ultimate she is.

ARC Review of Sinfully Tempted by Kathleen Ayers
Summary:
After being caught in a compromising position with the Duke of Ware, Lady Tamsin Sinclair manages to cling onto what remains of her reputation by agreeing to fake a a short-term relationship with duke. She and Ware will pretend theirs is an intellectual attachment for a few weeks to quiet the gossips, but to her surprise, she begins to fall for the duke...
My review:
I had a lot of fun with this book; Kathleen Ayers loves to write characters with interesting jobs or hobbies, and in this case, the hero, Ware, is an amateur entomologist. As someone who is squeamish around bugs, I thought I'd find it gross or weird, but it actually works! And what more, it works on a romance level— like, Tamsin and Ware's first meeting involves him trying to get a moth off her bare knee without telling he what's going on so she's punching him repeatedly (and then he kisses her thigh?!? bear in mind this is their FIRST MEETING) and they're caught in a compromising position which results in the sham "attachment" they both need to play up to save Tamsin's reputation (and more importantly for Tamsin, save her sister's reputation by proxy). And there's a lot of sly innuendo applied throughout the book related to bugs, and even some pretty damn romantic lines later on. Basically, when Kathleen writes an MC with a hobby, she goes all in.
And here's the thing about Ware: for all that Kathleen (and Tamsin) goes off about how big and awkward he is (sidenote: Ware isn't explicitly written as fat/plus-sized, but he is described as big and has think thighs and a soft stomach), he's actually a REALLY attractive man and when it hits you, it hits. He'll be nattering on about bugs and Tamsin will be snarking about how his hobby involves pinning dead insects into displays and then suddenly he's like "perhaps I'll pin you one day". That single-minded focus he brings to all things really pays off for Tamsin. As for Tamsin, she's an older (well, she's 26 but she's been through it, life-wise), jaded heroine, but she hasn't let society tamp down her spirit. That being said, a lot of the plot is her feeling like she's too improper to be a duchess (her mother was an actress) so she pushes away Ware for a considerable amount of the story until she can't anymore.
The sex:
I really wish there were more sex scenes in this book because what we got was excellent. I will say though, maybe there was merit to them holding off until closer to the end because Tamsin basically had to become half-crazed with longing (to the point where she was driven to drink) in order to admit to herself that she wanted Ware. Here's what I enjoyed most:
a) We love men who attempt to stifle their erection by reciting the Latin names for various insects
b) There was an over-the-clothes stuff moment where Ware is all "we're MORE than a fling bby" and that's always an enjoyable moment for me
c) If you're a fan of the gazebo scene in Bridgerton season 2, you'll love their garden sex scene which had big "don't stop" vibes AND unlike Kate and Anthony, they actually woke up together after falling asleep outside
d) Speaking of Kate and Anthony, there's SNIFFING
e) There is some half-virgin hero rep as well a heroine who is not a virgin
f) The greatest moment might be when he rips her drawers off her and puts them in his pocket while going "you won't be needing these anymore" and then in a scene WE WERE NOT SHOWN, it's insinuated he basically deposited them on her brother's desk and went "well I guess I gotta marry her now". Frankly, this is the one place I felt cheated.
Overall:
I'd recommend this book to any historical romance reader. It has a lot of heart, banter, and a great romance with solid sex scenes, and I look forward to reading the next book in The Five Deadly Sins series.
Thank you to Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my review.

okay idk if you've listened to evermore but i cant stop thinking about tis the damn season and dorothea being about kylux, with hux being dorothea and then i get sad lol
IM SO FASCINATED BY OUR DIFFERING KYLUX EVERMORE THOUGHTS OH MY GOD
I’m a folklore girlie at my CORE even tho I’ve been listening since debut so ofc i also love evermore the VIBES!!
(Hold on im saving this as a draft real quick this is worth getting out of bed to use the computer)
So i absolutely see your point about dorothea, but I think i get lost on that a bit because of the high school themes, and at 28 I have so much trouble reading high school aus, they make me feel gross? even college aus are starting to get that way, so I'm mainly writing grad/law school if i play with academia.
(if ur looking through my ao3 bookmarks this doesn't, weirdly, apply to ships i discovered WHILE in high school. thank god, I read so much steter fan fiction when I'm in a particularly foul mood.)
TIS THE DAMN SEASON THO
now that's a got the germination of a fic in me. It hasn't made the list of "actual aus I'm going to write" but it'll get there once I have even a HINT of plot.
I have a big au in my head about champagne problems as the starting song from Hux's POV, where he turns down the proposal of the proper society candidate and then runs away and meets kylo and it's a whirlwind romance?? I love that shit, I swear??
but RIGHT WHERE YOU LEFT ME IS MY BIGGEST FUCKING HUX SONG THO
like imagine a world were they wERE together and then starkiller happened and everything goes to shit and it's over, but KYLO NEVER SAYS ANYTHING and hux iS STILL AT THE REST-AU-RANT
I have cried to this au that exists ONLY IN MY HEAD
REAL HUMAN TEARS ABOUT IT ANON
(It's also on my playlist for the KYlux big bang but in that au it's entirely in kylo's head, and more a statement on his state of mind than the actual plot. THat fic is ONLY GOOD VIBES it's 100k of self indulgence and honestly a shameful amount of smut)
Willow also works for Hux, I feel like? It's an au, obviously, but I'm sure you've all fuckin noticed I only write modern AUs Im an absolute SLUT for them.
I just feel like "They count me out time and time again," and "show me the places were the others gave you scars" are pARTICULARLY good lines for them?
Gold rush is also perfect for any AU were you have Hux feeling self conscious? It's a song that's entirely about not wanting to fall in love, because you think it's not realistic? Like, it's about dreaming how good a love could be and then denying yourself it?
Tolerate it is great for a break up au from Kylo's perspective, absolutely, especially if you make kylo young enough that their age difference is proportional enough to matter, to change the dynamic of their relationship?
This sentence is just an appreciation of no body no crime i'm not using it for a kylux au its just a fuCKING GOOD SONG. Signed, former olive garden employee
Don't get me started on your losing me btw i wILL have a break down.
anyway yes I have mANY THOUGHTS about evermore this is surely both too much and not what you asked for but I hope it was at least enjoyable!!
