REKI'S ARC IN SK8 IS SO REALISTIC IT HURTS - an essay?

For this I really wanted to focus on episodes 7-11 so that's what I mostly talk about here. But the seeds of self doubt in Reki's mind exist earlier on, from his first beef with Adam and onwards.

So by episode 7 Langa is an absolute BEAST at skateboarding. Like, toe-to-toe with Adam, Joe and Cherry levels of skill. It's more than anyone, especially Reki, could have ever expected, since he started out only months ago. Langa, as Snow, is an icon of the S scene - one of the biggest names in the community alongside the founders of S previously mentioned. And Reki - well he's become known as the guy that hangs around with Snow, the redhead that follows Snow around, his name not even worthy to be mentioned alongside Snow by people in S. Nevermind the fact that it was his teaching, his skills in making custom boards, and his friendship with Langa that helped Langa succeed in the skateboarding world. Langa has it all - the praise, the notoriety, the skill, the admiration, the fame - all that Reki wanted and more, and yet Reki is left behind.

This gets to him a lot. It makes him feel worthless, not skilled or famous enough to hang around with the top skaters like Langa is. Langa, due to his skill, is on a plain of existence in the skating world that Reki thinks he will never reach. He's in a weird spot - one where he's happy for his friend's success yet still wishes he could have even a sample of the same.

This is shown perfectly through the star at the bridge skating area. Langa managed to jump to reach the star with ease, yet Reki keeps trying time and time again, pushing through failures and injuries, to reach that same mark - trying to reach the same greatness that Langa has achieved, and Langa himself. And he can't. The failure to reach the star proves to him what he already feels - he will never be good enough to skate with Langa. He thinks that it can't be fun to skate with someone who cannot match their skill, and so in feeling inferior to Langa he starts to distance himself from the skateboarding world as his self-confidence declines sharply and he slips into depression.

What Reki doesn't acknowledge is that the star is the exceptional, and exceptional is not always possible. In reaching for the exceptional, the notions of average and good are heavily skewed until, to some, they lose all meaning. There is only to them room for 'the best', which they may not be. However acknowledging that necessitates lots of logic over emotion, something which many can struggle to balance with strong emotions. Reki's feelings here may not be logical, but Reki is human, and humans in general are not always logical either.

[Side note that may be one of my favourite non-skating scenes in the show]

But also Reki has noticed change - in the way others view and talk about him, in Langa's attitudes towards skateboarding and S, and in how he views himself. It is clear that this change, and the subsequent changes in his attitudes to skating as he falls further into depression, is not something he copes well with. Everything changed too quickly that he wasn't able to keep up with others.

Langa also has changed. Not just in his skill, but in his attitudes to S and skating. Him breaking his promise to not skate with Adam isn't just about breaking a promise - it's Langa choosing to race against better skaters, specifically one that really hurt Reki. In Reki's eyes, Langa choosing to skate with Adam despite the danger (which he has first hand experience of) proved that Langa needed more skilled skaters to hang out with - and that he wasn't one of them. Langa still thinks the fun in the sport is there and Reki can still join in and have fun, but by skating with Adam he starts to lose sight of what made skating fun - not the competition, the thrill or the titles, but being with Reki. Langa's arc is a whole other essay topic though, as by this point Reki barely shows up to events at S and hasn't spoken to Langa in a while.

Reki shows up to Langa's race against Joe and experiences the momentary joy of cheering his friend on and defending his skill to some naysayers. But, knowing that Langa is to skate against Adam next, he quickly feels disheartened and retreats - as he does, he deposits his S entry badge on the way out.

But it is clear that skateboarding is such a big part of Reki's life that he can't just stray away from. Skateboarding with Langa had him at his happiest, but without it he is at an extreme low. So much so in fact that he's stopped socialising, stopped working, not in school as much, and he's not skating. Also, he's put himself in more dangerous situations - the beating by the strangers that insulted his skateboard would only reinforce his negative association that skateboarding has only brought him trouble. Seeing him become more reckless as a result of his depression is him at his lowest and at his most dangerous to himself. Skateboarding is one of the few things that brings him immense joy - which is at its most visible when he stops partaking in it. He needs to be reminded that he doesn't have to be the best to be good, and it doesn't matter that Langa is better than him naturally because he still wants to skate with him. He needed to be reminded that his friends are there for him no matter what, which is what the skate shop owner does.

It is only when him and Langa finally reconcile that Reki realises that Langa doesn't see him as inferior or talentless. In fact, they are what make each other enjoy skating so much, and why without one another it doesn't feel the same. And it's beautiful the way they find joy in skating with one another.

Reki's self-doubt as he feels left behind his friends and him spiralling into self-isolation and self-hatred is honestly what makes him feel so human, and very relatable. I've been through similar experiences myself where I fear that my friends don't really want to hang around with me, that I can't necessarily relate to things they enjoy because they are better than I am, where I begin to isolate myself away, where I compare myself to others, where I feel left behind. It's been amplified by periods of autistic burnout too, wherein the energy to try and compensate for this is not available. Low self-esteem can really hurt, and Reki here really encapsulates the way negative thoughts can spiral into bigger and even more dangerous issues. And it's why he comes across as so relatable and so human.

[This has been in the drafts for a bit but I really do appreciate Reki's arc so much. I wanted to write at length about it because of how relatable in his struggles with low self-esteem and depression are. I almost considered not posting this but here we are i guess. Please feel free to comment on my wording of anything if it doesn't sound quite right i'm kind of sleep deprived still right now.]

Sk8 the Infinity & how Reki Kyan is written to be human

SO 👏 if you kept reading past the opening line welcome back to some more thoughts I have had about Sk8. In the show, I think Reki is the most humanly written character in the show. This is due to his personality, but more-so his actions and internal dialogue. 

We open the show with narration from Reki explaining skating and what he loves about it, before seeing him lose the beef with Shadow, and be forced to watch as his board burns. We see straight away that, for all his passions, Reki is punished and given consequences for being too over-indulgent and confident in winning. He loves skating, but it can hurt sometimes. 

One of my favourite scenes with Reki, is him in school before Langa. It’s short, but he is sat doodling away new skateboarding designs and parts. The second someone shows interest and asks what he is doing, he eagerly asks if they want to talk about it, to which he is immediately rejected for his eagerness. His passions being met with disinterest.

Then we have Reki meeting Langa. He doesn’t pay him much attention in class, but when meeting him outside of Cherry’s studio, we get to see Reki’s goofy side come out more. Asking him if he was interested in skating, if he’d want to learn. Then getting shot down once again for his eagerness, only to end up with Langa as a co-worker instead thanks to Oka. As Reki teaches Langa to skate, we het to see Reki shine in his knowledge. he never gives up, even if something seems impossible. He slowly encourages and pushes Langa until he can finally nail that first trick, having fun the whole time and making their friendship all the brighter. It is honest and genuine, even if a little battered and bruised sometimes.

Skipping forward a bit, we see how Reki reacts to other skaters like Miya. Up until this point, we know that Reki is an average skater compared to most, and Miya being the child prodigy, shows Reki up and makes him land face in dirt more than once. There is jealousy of his skill, but also a playful rivalry. Miya is just a kid, similar in age to Rekis younger sister, so he can’t hold a grudge against him for too long. He quickly jumps in to defend Miyas honor, showing that despite everything, he is his friend above any rivalry or squabbles. 

SO. When Reki races against Adam, we see a side of Reki we don’t see much. He is dejected. He tries to joke and laugh, but anyone can see that he is bitter about losing. The people he is surrounded by are spectacular, and he is just regular. He wants to get better, but for now he needs to recover. 

I love the beach episode SO MUCH and for one reason I don’t see people mention often is the scene between Joe and Reki. Reki confides in Joe, and Joe does what he can to comfort him. It’s a rare heart-to-heart we don’t get much of in the show, but when we do it tends to be between the two. They are very similar in my eyes, Joe seeing himself in Reki, and wanting him to not make the same mistakes he did. Reki admits that he doesn’t want to fall behind, and while he has the drive, it doesn’t mean he has the skill to.

As the episodes pass and Langa QUICKLY improves, he gets left behind like he expected. He hates it, he doesn’t want to just be ‘the one that hangs around the GOOD skaters’ he wants people to know his name and acknowledge his skills. 

The turning point for Reki’s character is when Langa goes against his promise. Reki is a man of his word, and expects everyone else to keep the same ideals. Once a promise is made, you shouldn’t break it. Knowing Reki was the one to teach Langa everything, seeing him exceed his own skills, and then not keep his promise made Reki break. To him, that was him being left behind. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t reach the same stars that Langa could. As much as this era of the show hurts, Reki is written so realistically. He knows that he shOULDN’T be so upset about this, seeing and supporting his friends improvement used to bring him joy, but now he was left behind without so much as a thank you, he can’t help but close off and run away. How I see it, Reki has the ideals of Someone who wants others to put the same energy into their friendship as he does, and when that doesn’t happen, he gets crushed.

Reki at his lowest is when he gets beaten up by his old skating friends, and Oka finds Reki wallowing in self pity. He feels as though he deserved to be beaten up for feeling this way, that his feelings are selfish and he should just be happy. Oka’s advice that sometimes people are just cut out to watch and cheer them on gives Reki the energy to go and watch a race, but even with cheering Langa on, he doesn’t WANT to watch. He wants to be there, skating alongside his friends and having FUN! What fun is there in just sitting there? 

The small scene between Reki and Tadashi has always been interesting regarding Reki’s character. In the depths of his moping, it takes someone who (as he sees it) completely missing the point of skating to knock him out of it. He loves skating, he loves skating with langa, it’s all meant to be FUN! saying it aloud to someone else seemed to be the wakeup call he needed, even if tears were shed.

Once Reki and Langa finally makeup, with Reki having had more time to think things over, we can finally see Reki be given the acknowledgement from Langa that he IS amazing. And of course, Reki blushes. As much as he wants to be recognized for what he can do, being bombarded by compliments makes him nervous and a little embarrassed, and as I read it, feel like all his moping was useless if Langa thought that about him the entire time. It’s sweet and a genuine moment between the two. 

NOW. this post is already really long but I absolutely adore how the skating between him and Adam is done the second time. Reki knows what to expect this time, and just has to endure it until the time comes for him to shine. He might not be the best skater, but he knows everything about the boards themselves, and gets to show off his knowledge once the rain comes. Seeing him win and get that big hug from everyone once it’s over feels like a reunion that I didn’t know I needed. For once everyone is on Reki’s side and supporting him vocally and physically.

As we reach the end of the show, we get to see Reki watch Langa skate almost to his death before their reunion and Langas victory. I think Langas leap of a hug into Reki is the culmination of 12 episodes of friendship- ups and downs all culminating in a fun and loving embrace. A thank you for showing Langa how fun living in Okinawa could turn out to be.

Their duo skate at the end is, as I see it, the start of something new, and the end of Reki’s arc. He has learnt so much, and ended up with a best friend and a newfound love for skating alongside people who truly cherish him. Reki is NOT a perfect person. He gets jealous, and pouts when he gets teased, and makes awful jokes and does some goofy things that sometimes puts him in weird positions, but he is a character who just wants to have FUN as hard as that can seem sometimes.

this whole meetcute? PLANNED. PREMEDITATED. there would be no real reason for him to STEP OUTSIDE of dope sketch especially with his skateboard unless it was specifically to talk to langa. also how did oka know to come outside or what they were even talking about if he wasnt already watching from the distance spying on them???

id like to present my theory:

reki was talking with oka about the new student in his class and how he really wants to get to know him hes canadian and has this really pale blue hair that like frames his face perfectly and his eyes are even more pretty like falling snow and oka just points out the window saying “like that guy right there walking out the calligraphy studio?” and reki immediately looks up, recognizes him, and DUCKS DOWN like “pls dont let him see me” and oka being the amazing boss he is forces reki outside to go shoot his shot. lets be honest, reki does not know how to flirt. the only thing in this boys brain is skateboarding, so its very On Brand for him to think of such a stupid excuse to bump into this guy (with a skateboard of course) convince pretty boy to get on it, watch him fall, then “impress” him by LITERALLY JUMPING OVER HIM and then suggesting to go back to his (skateboard) job together so he can help him pick out a board.

“Excuse me, Reki, let me just…”

“AIEHEHE-!”

The redhead’s eyes were blown wide open as his boyfriend grabbed his sides to gently move him to the side, wanting to get a certain snack from his pantry. They both stopped dead in their tracks when Reki let out an ungodly screech, the skateboarder quickly covering his mouth with rosey cheeks.

Langa let out a small smile as the dots connected far faster than when he first learned to skateboard. “Reki, are you-”

“Shut it.”

“Reki-”

“Shut up!” The redhead yelled, the blush on his face deepening as he walked briskly to Langa’s room, shutting the door behind him and flopping on his bed, hand covering his heated face.

Langa let out a small laugh as he followed him close behind, knocking on the door before opening it and being greeted by an almost-on-fire Reki. “Reki, what’s wrong?” He asked softly.

All he got in response, though, was an exacerbated groan as the boy turned to his side to face the wall.

Langa stepped closer, his socked feet padding silently along the floor before sitting beside the redhead, eyebrows knit together. “Reki, there’s nothing wrong with being-”

“Don’t. Even. Say it.” He groaned, grabbing Langa’s pillow and shoving his cherry-red face in it.

Langa smirked as he realized what exactly was happening, no longer worried for his friend, but instead feeling mischievously playful. “Don’t say what?” He asked, acting completely innocent and oblivious to what the other was trying to say.

“Don’t even start, Langa. You know exactly what.” He mumbled into the pillow, words muffled as he held it even tighter to his face.

“Ohh, you mean…ticklish?” the blue-haired teen said nonchalantly, a smirk on his face as he leaned over the redhead. “Don’t say that you’re tickli-”

“Langa!” He yelled, quickly pulling the pillow off of his face and slamming it into his friend, though immediately regretting it as he saw the playful glint in his eye.

“What? There’s nothing wrong with being ticklish, Reki~” Langa made sure to enunciate every syllable of the word as his hands formed into claws, crawling closer and closer to the boy on the bed.

Reki backed up into the wall, his face still on fire as he tried to talk his way out of his current predicament. “L-Langa wait! Plehease dohont!”

Langa giggled as the boy already began giggling, not even being touched yet. “Nope, I think I need to tickle you until you learn that it’s nothing to be embarrassed by…” He chuckled, straddling the other’s legs before his hands descended onto his sides.

“LAHAHANGA PLEHEHASE!” He pleaded, his strength already fading as he tried grasping the other’s arms and shirt to tug him off, attempting to crawl away when that didn’t work, trying to hide his blushing face all the while.

“Please what~?” He sang, grabbing a stray ankle before Reki could make it off of the bed.

“Lahanga noho! Lemme gohoho!” He laughed, a hysterical edge to his giggles as he waited in anticipation for his friend to strike, nowhere near having enough strength to pull his foot free.

“Langa yesss~” He giggled, stroking a few fingers up and down Reki’s socked sole, the boy immediately letting out a loud stream of cackles.

“NOHOHO WAHAHAIT! DOHOHNT TIHIHI- TIHIHICK- LAHAHANGA!” He laughed, covering his blushing face once again as his toes curled and foot twisted in the other teen’s grasp, trying and trying to utter that word to make his friend stop.

“Say it, and I promise I’ll stop Reki!” Langa said with shining eyes, a finger swiping under Reki’s toes, the redhead letting out a loud yelp.

“YAHAHAHA! STAHAHAP TIHIHICKLING MEHEHEHE!” And as soon as he said it the sensations stopped, traded for the feeling of Langa straddling his waist as he panted for breath. “N-nohoho! Y-You sahaid you’d stohop!”

Langa smiled, leaning down to give Reki’s reddened cheek a chaste kiss before swiping his bangs out of his face. “I am, don’t worry. That wasn’t that bad, right?”

“Whatever.” the skateboarder pouted, pulling the other down before flipping them both over. “Let’s see if you think it ‘isn’t that bad.’”

“R-Reki wait! I’m sohohohrry! NohOHOHO!”

Reki rolled his eyes. He couldn't take this anymore. How Langa can be so stupid? He facepalmed.

"Do you think that girls would fall for this? Like seriously, if I was one of them, I would just slap your face at this moment and walk away!"

Recently, Langa started to be more and more occupied by a pretty girl that found him interesting. Reki, as his good friend, offered him help with this, because he knows that Hasegawa it's not the best when it comes to taking someone for a date. Yet, he didn't expect that Langa is this dumb to doesn't get anything he tried him to teach.

Maybe he should just stay with helping him with skateboarding...

"And if I was one of them, I would actually fall for that."

"You gotta kiddin' me now, don't ya?"

"I'm completely serious."

"Don't you think is weird, though? Like..." This time Reki took Langa's hand but he puts it at his chest. "Langa...", he started with sweet voice. "My love... Are you hungry?"

This was... unexpected.

Reki's face turned as red as his hair. His eyes widened that much that they almost jump out of the eyelids.

"What the hell!? Langa!? Are you just stupid or just extremely dumb?", he started yelling at him.

Langa blinked in confuse.

"As to think of it, you aren't too intelligent neither."

"Just how can you say this so casually...?", Reki asked quieter than before.

"So, is a date then?"

If Reki wasn't red before, then sure, he was now.

"Yes-, I mean NO, mean yes... Uh!!! No-?"

How good they didn't know that Miya was currently recording them... He sure has some blackmail material now.

I’ve talked about this before but I’m sleep deprived and I’m gonna talk about it again.

Why Adam Hates Reki And How Exactly Sk8 Made The Best Bible Metaphor Of All Time; A Disorganized, incomplete collection of thoughts:

For all its flaws, there are many aspects of sk8s symbolism that are masterfully done and today I am thinking, again, about Adam, his “Eve” Langa, (ew) and Reki.

Like. Adam’s obsession with Langa is self explanatory enough. Therefore I will spare all of you, and myself, and let that speak for itself.

“But how does Reki fit into that?” You ask, and I am so glad you did.

The first point I want to make is that, obviously, Reki’s color is red. I mean, just look at him. You can’t miss it. Okay, hold onto that thought because I will be coming back to it.

Now, see, Adam could have asked anyone to stand in for Shadow in the tournament finals. Joe. Cherry. Miya. Literally anyone. But no. He has Tadashi, aka Snake, invite Reki, specifically. Because in his eyes, Reki is a threat. An ‘obstacle’ between him and Langa that needs to be dealt with. (Excuse me while I barf.)

“That’s crazy!” You say, lips curled in outrage and disgust. And, on one hand, you’re correct. But on the other hand, so is he. Because he’s right. In a way.

One thing we are shown repeatedly as the audience is that Reki embodies a pure and genuine love of skating. (What? Gasp, no way. And water is wet and the sky is blue???? Say it ain’t so!) Another thing we are shown is that Adam used to love skating the same way when he was younger, but all that sincere passion he used to hold for skating has been wheedled away into something dark and destructive. It is canonically stated on at least one occasion that he considers skating “an act of love”. So, maybe Adam’s annoyance (jealousy) of this particular aspect is more subconscious. Or he could be entirely self aware. I wouldn’t put it past him.

Another side still of Adams’s jealousy is much more simple. He hates Reki because Langa loves Reki. In his twisted little head, he is Adam, Langa is Eve, and Reki is a speck of dirt under his skateboard. Nothing else makes sense to him. And that is because he forgot the third and final piece of the gross bible metaphor he thinks he’s living.

Reki is not useless, a nobody, or a third wheel.

Because Reki is the apple.

The embodiment of knowledge, and the thing used to tempt Eve.

He is never referred to as such explicitly, but he is the one who first showed Langa how to skate. Reki is, in Langa’s words, his “teacher”. The person with the knowledge Langa wants to learn the most. (Plus, I find it hard to believe that they ‘accidentally’ had Snake, of all people be the one made to extend the invitation to Reki, which was done purely to get at Langa. )

And that is a good chunk of why I think Adam well and truly despises Reki.

You have Adam, Langa, and Reki.

Adam, “Eve,” and the apple secured by the snake.

And brother, Adam knows that Eve always chooses the apple.

Dunno if you watched SK8 the Infinity, but one important conflict is literally the protagonist Reki becoming extremly insecure and unmotivated in skating after seeing how his new friend Langa (a snowboarder) who has barely started skating is a prodigy and so much better at it than him, who has been skating since he was a child.

Langa is naturally talented at skating while Reki works hard and still cannot measure up to someone who just started, which makes him consider quit skating altogether and leads him to distance himself from Langa because of insecurity and jealousy.

Those type of scenarios just pull at the heartstrings, you know?? Like there is nothing worse than working hard and still feeling inferior to the people around you, which DOES make for juicy angsty scenarios :)(

No but literally those are the kinds of plots where you kinda immerse yourself in the grief and it can be empowering to see your underdog recover, but also GOD is that shit so depressing and hits close to home, for real the kind of plots I soak up and throw pity parties for myself for lol

You know I've been pretty open about it but like, every so often I get compliments on my writing that are very sweet, but ultimately I do have to acknowledge like 😅 I AM basically a self taught high school drop out. So especially when I personally start writing about these sorts of stories "lol what if Reader is a depressed fucking loser absolutely struggling through the mediocre machinations of life and has Strong Hot Person come save them" like. You know where that's coming from lmao 😂 extremely unsettle but I figure what I write is usually relatable enough that it's like why the fuck not be a little personal sometimes

God though I had initially considered that when I was talking about like the Spiderverse You vs YouTwo ideas, initially considered making YouTwo drastically superior to you, but the route I've decided on is, you're on equal footing and there are certain things you each do better than the other but, seeing them be better than you at anything is salt in your wounds since you're feeling replaced.

I also like obviously have mentioned it several times but like. Living with Damian Wayne specifically would be absolute awful for this scenario, especially if you make your yandere mean or whatever. Like you could be minding your own goddamn business doing your favorite hobby and have this snot nosed fucking 10 year old (this one, the nasty one, before he gets tamed down, potentially by you?) and he's just like "that's not how you're supposed to do it" and physically takes it out of your hands, does it for you, and explains to you what you were doing wrong the entire time

Like imagine platonic yandere Damian who can't communicate his feelings for shit and is still deep in his Little Hellion Phase so you think he's just constantly insulting you and trying to show how much better and smarter than you he is when in reality he's just like. Very Poorly being like, "oh, a chance to show my sibling how cool and smart I am, and then I can teach them and they'll like me :) and they like to learn new things so I should teach them as much as I know and they can feel smart too :)" and on your end you're thinking he's an egotistical MEAN little kid who's making you extremely insecure and feel worthless and stupid and maybe sometimes often he's, not always using the best language with you because he wasn't really raised with kindness. "Why would you think THAT'S how you do it?" With a tone like youre a fucking idiot, "I don't understand what you're not seeing, I've been doing this for years and I'm an actual child"

like genuinely it's all of those "someone else one upping you" ideas but WORSE because you can't leave this fucking house and he's TEN. Youve got a fucking TEN YEAR OLD physically and mentally one upping you CONSTANTLY with the mental abilities of like a fucking adult man. I feel like the entire family being trained in violence, you'd think they would understand having like a physical fight and have probably had many themselves, but the second YOU lose your temper and put a hand on any of THEM, SACRILEGE. Damian couldve been saying the cuntiest things to your face and the SECOND you swing on him, just absolutely lose your shit, suckerpunch that brat in his face, give him a literal black eye that he didn't block because he didn't expect his beloved sibling to hit him, Bruce is UP YOUR ASS about, "you know better than this! That's your brother!!" like straight up, I think messing with one of the Robins or members of his family is the fastest way to have yandere Bruce lose patience with you and do something less loving. Takes away privileges, grounds you, makes you do labor around the house or labor for him in the cave or Damian, forces you to apologize and also acknowledge "that my brother just wanted what was best for me 🙄"

He's the kind of overbearing calculating shit where he waits until everyone is at the family dinner table and he casually pauses in between spoonfuls of soup, "so I see sister has been sneaking out of the house. You didn't do a very good job of washing the cigarette smoke out of your jacket" ousting you in a double whammy combo for sneaking out without permission AND smoking, and of course you're responding something like "you little PRICK!!" and now Bruce is standing up, jabbing a finger towards the stairs as he demands you go to your room with the unspoken threat that's he's coming up there to speak to you about this after everyone eats

Like legit living in that house would be a nightmare because everyone is gifted and everyone's doing somersaulting backflips and it's like. Lmao my knees pop when I stand up :) you're all like insanely gifted in your fields and I'm like. Normal. Some would say a simple minded burnout, even. Like. Lmao. Imagine a scenario where you're still independent and doing your own thing bur Bruce is, you know yandere mode and keeping tabs on you, and he's constantly trying to like, nudge you towards better opportunities. You're in costume on a rooftop and suddenly he's asking you about your schooling. You're working a shitty day job and one day the in universe equivalent sends you am email "based on your qualifications, this employer is interested in your resume" and its a super well paying WayneTech job that you. Turn down because you'd either fail the drug test and don't think you're good enough lmao. Bruce just tearing his hair out as he decides "ok fine I'll make your life better by force" and just starts buying your apartment building and where you work or some shit so he can improve your quality of life from the outside
