one true pairing
I'm going through some of my old files in my fanfic writing folder to see if any of the past wips can be salvaged for some kind of relatable lines and I found a 3 page long essay that explains what my OTP was and why they were my OTP and how come they were so good together. Christ. I don't remember writing that at all. But also my OTP was two people who knew each other for majority of their lives and always had the bff vibes and I keep thinking no wonder I love wolfstar and perhaps I should start reading and writing prongsfoot too. Maybe prongsfoot makes even more sense ahaha. Does anyone have recs for prongsfoot? Either way, it makes me feel nostalgic about my past OTP. I wonder how the fandom is now. Since it's a band fandom, so real people and all, and they are currently in their 40s and god, I kind of wish I would still be there, so I could write about these 40 year olds being gay for each other. The dynamics would be so delicious.

REITA x club Zy. Super Long Interview (2/4) May 31 2021
READ: Part 1 / Part 3
Please feel free to send a message if there are any mistakes or if you have suggestions on improving the translation. Please credit if posting elsewhere.
-It felt lonely because the GazettE didn’t hold a live stream, but it’s fascinating that you’re obsessed with live performances. There were lots of artists who didn’t resort to live streaming and instead made videos playing instruments in their room or just talked, did you do any of those things?
I didn’t. We were silent, I think the fans were like “What are you doing?” I didn’t want to release anything that wasn’t 100%. If I did, I would regret it later.
-I understand that feeling quite a bit. However, did you worry your fans would forget about the GazettE?
Yes, I had a feeling. That feeling is still there, we don’t know how many people will listen to the new album. Even if we get to play live, we won’t know how many people will come. I think there are lots of people who lost their enthusiasm after a year of absence. I’m worried, but I think it’s important that when we start playing lives again we show people a live that makes them think they should come back. I mean, that’s all we can do, right?
-If you watch the GazettE live, you will understand the members were not resting but instead honing their skills while they were silent, I’m sure with the next live people who lost their heart will come back. Also, as mentioned earlier, the GazettE were working on a new album in 2020, right?
We started working on the new album little by little before the 18th anniversary live last March. Originally, we were talking about starting to record in 2020 after the anniversary live. So, we wrote our first song at the end of last year
-You started early, didn’t you? Were there any ideas or concepts for the album during the song writing?
No, it wasn’t like that for a while. It was just a feeling that became visible after some song selection meetings. For the GazettE, it’s always the same process. DOGMA (August 26, 2015) RUKI brought in an image that represented the album, I had an image of the album that was in RUKI’s mind, otherwise the big picture comes out through song selection meetings. That’s how it occurred this time around too. However, we’re always looking at live performances, so it becomes clear even before we start that we want something that is good live and something we could use after the album tour. In that sense, this may be close to the previous work NINTH (June 13, 2018).
-So the first thing you began with was song writing. You started the production last spring but it was not until the summer you were able to get together. During that time, did you use ZOOM to talk about ideas, arrangements and song selection meetings?
No, I recently started using ZOOM. I think sometime during January of this year.
-What!? That recent?
Yes (laughs). The staff prepared it last spring but no one tried it out. Being in a band for so long, there’s a part of me that hates new things (laughs). I’m not good at digital stuff either. I started using ZOOM a lot during recordings, but before that it was LINE. On LINE, we talked like “The rhythm should be like “dan-dan-daddada” (laughs). When we started to use ZOOM, we talked to each other for the first time while playing instruments on the screen and we were like “Oh, this is easier” (laughs). Now that I think about it, I used to use LINE like that often (laughs).
-I’m shocked at how slow it was introducing ZOOM (laughs). There are some bands that have a member who likes to introduce new things and then lecture other members how to do it, that didn’t happen for the GazettE, did it?
It didn’t happen. URUHA is that type, during NINTH URUHA told us there was a place we could share our projects called Pro Tools, all the members were invited immediately. But no one used it (laughs). I started to use it for this album and when I did I found it’s quite useful. You can upload your data to the project and everyone will be able to listen to it. Up until now audio files were sent by giga files. But now with Pro Tools you can share data, it’s very convenient. Even if it might be late (laughs).
-No, I think it’s a good thing you ended up using it. Back to the production of MASS, did you start songwriting on LINE?
Something like that. We had a list of songs and we wanted “BLINDING HOPE” on the album, so we decided to record “BLINDING HOPE” first. Well, there was only one at the time and that was “BLINDING HOPE” (laughs). We recorded “BLINDING HOPE” in August to decide on the sound and direction.
-”BLINDING HOPE” is heavy and emotional, it’s the GazettE’s latest style, isn’t it? What were your feelings like when you first recorded this song?
At the time I was buying a new bass, I thought that bass would be a better fit. It’s a Canadian bass brand called Dingwall, the fret is fan-shaped. It’s a bass that is quite popular in the metalcore world these days. Also, it wasn’t in its original state, the equipment was orthodox. The amplifier is an Ampeg simulator, all I had was a compact SansAmp (Drive Effector). I recorded it in a simple way that it became the bass I imagined, and that’s how I saw it.
(T/N: First time translating an interview so I went over and edited this multiple times and I still feel like there may be some sentences where it's just a jumble of words. Honestly, my mind goes blank whenever equipment is talked about, I know nothing about these technicalities, I had to Google A LOT (then got distracted by Dingwall bass guitars). Sorry if the last question/answer sounds wonky. If any clarification is needed do not hesitate to message!)

the GazettE JaME Interview in Bonn, Germany (2006.07.28)
Tumblr media
Press conference with The GazettE in Bonn, Germany on July 28th, 2006. The two concerts on Saturday and on Sunday are your first gigs outside of Asia. Are you nervous ? Kai: Of course, we are. You recently changed your name from ‘Gazette’ to ‘The GazettE’. What’s the reason for this ? Ruki: That’'s only because of visual reasons. The writing ‘The GazettE’ is supposed to have the effect of a logo on the viewer. How are The GazettE songs made? Ruki: At first we compose the music, then I add the lyrics. When will your next European tour start? (everyone laughs) Ruki: We will announce that the next time. Kai: I’'d really like to play in Germany again. Which band member writes the lyrics for your songs and where does that person get their inspiration from? Which song would be a concrete example for that? Ruki: (raises his hand) I write the lyrics. I am often inspired by sad things such as war or murder which I hear of in the news. A song that expresses something like this would be ‘Saraba’ from the ‘DISORDER’ album, for example. It rather refers to the situation in Japan, though. What influences your music? Aoi: The are no specific factors. It depends on the band members’ tastes. Everyone adds what they like. Your first concert outside of Asia is held in Germany. Why here of all places? Ruki: There is no special reason. Kai: We wish to be able to perform in all countries of the world and to show our style to everyone. Who are your musical and artistic idols? Aoi: Before The GazettE started, we liked bands from the Japanese rock scene, of course, such as X JAPAN or LUNA SEA. Are there any western musicians that you see as idols? Ruki: (thinks about it but stays quiet) (everyone laughs) Aoi: (questioning) Helloween? Where does the name ‘Gazette’ come from and what does it mean? Ruki: ‘Gazette’ is based on the word ‘cassette’. We just changed it a little to make it sound better. The term ‘cassette’ itself stands for the fact that we don’t make a highly technical kind of music, but every instrument is played and every song is written by ourselves. To make it simple: Everything is handmade. How did you get to know each other? Ruki: Uruha, Reita and me played in a band together at first. Aoi and Kai did so as well, so we were ‘rivals’ of some sort. At first we worked with another drummer, then Kai joined and we formed our group together. Are you also friends in private? Ruki: At the moment we almost don’'t have any free time at all. We’'re always together. Aoi: We understand each other as friends, but when it comes to the music, arguments pop up from time to time. Why do you make music? Ruki: For myself there is no other way to express my feelings and thoughts other than through music and singing. Bands like Dir en grey and MUCC stamp the ‘visual kei’ image over here. In which way do you see yourself connected to them and the ‘visual kei’ image in general? Uruha: We'’ve got our own style and do our own kind of music. We do not want to be put into categories or compared to others all the time. The slogan of your latest tour in Japan had been ‘Nameless Liberty’. These words can be seen as well on the cover of your recent album ‘NIL’. Do they have a special meaning for you? Ruki: They express that future success can’'t be taken for granted by us and by others. Have you been able to see Bonn already? Kai: Unfortunately, we didn'’t have the time to do anything in the city or to go sightseeing yet. Aoi: I walked around today and visited the Beethoven house. In which way are your look and your style part of your image? Ruki: Our image is mostly made up of our music and our lyrics. Style, make up or clothes are not closely linked to it. Our outfits change from single to single, from CD to CD. Is there anything that you would’'ve liked to see or experience in Germany? Kai: Unfortunately, we missed the FIFA World Cup… (everyone laughs) Aoi: Last year we recorded the promotional video for our single ‘Cassis’ in Austria. We had a stop in Frankfurt/Main to switch planes. Even back then, we all wanted to see more of Germany. Kai: We'’re really happy to be here again. Did you prepare yourself in a special way for your concerts in Germany? Are there major differences from your lives in Japan? Ruki: We make our concerts here in the same way as in Japan. We don’'t want to make any differences but show the same side of us to our German and European fans as to our Japanese ones.

Entrevista: The GazettE desvendando pensamentos sobre Família, fãs e amigos.
Ruki: Foi bom.
Me sinto melhor.
Sim?
Reita e Uruha costumavam jogar futebol, certo?
Ruki: Sim.
Shows são vitais para o The GazettE, qual a essência disto?
No meu caso, eu pessoalmente me divirto vendo os outros membros no palco.
Aoi: Nosso empresário me tira da tristeza.
Reita: Faremos o nosso melhor.
Quando comecei a tocar música realmente gostei, e acabei me tornando mais extrovertido e direto, realmente me surpreendeu.
Mas, eventualmente, eu me acostumei e gostei de me apresentar no palco.
Aoi: Provavelmente o DAW (Digital Audio Workstation).

FAMILY (GAZETTE X CHILD!READER) [familial]
Requested by anonymous.
Military! AU
Dear (Name),
Happy Birthday!
I’m sorry we couldn’t be there for your birthday party. I know we promised to be back in time, but it seems like it’s gonna take longer. The higher-ups aren’t able to let us go on leave because of all the fighting that’s happening.
We’re sending you a little present from the field; it’s a tiny gem shard we found near the mines. When you hold it, you can think of us. I hope that makes you happy until we return home.
My mother says that you’ve grown a few more inches in the last few months. I can’t wait to see how tall you’ll get in the future...although I don’t want you to become taller than any of us. You’re still our little kid, after all, but Kai says you might grow taller than me, at the very least. You can guess how I reacted to THAT.
We’re hoping we can come back in time for the autumn. It’s going to be a close shave if we do, since you’ll be starting school soon, but we really want to make it!
Ok, I should go, the others are waiting for me. They say hello, and that they love you very very much...as do I. Remember that.
Hold the gem tightly in your hands and make a wish; they say it’ll come true.
Happy birthday once again, (name) dear. We love you so so so much, and we can’t wait for the day when we see you again.
Love, Ruki
Folding the letter and sealing it, he turns to the cadet, who salutes him and runs out.
The others are waiting outside the tent. “Done?” Reita asks, holding back his own tears.
“Yeah,” Ruki replies. They can’t afford to shed tears now, not with their men standing nearby, awaiting orders.
“Okay then.” Aoi sighs, and puts on his designated hat. “The others are ready to go.”
Kai adjusts his uniform and looks at his papers one last time. “This is the only way,” he mutters, shaking his head. “It’s the only way.” Everyone knows he was the first to lose his mind, though he doesn’t show it; in fact, it was his idea that Ruki write the letter.
Uruha also hands the cadet a letter; this one to his mother, who volunteered to keep a copy of the adoption papers. “Make sure it reaches her as soon as possible,” he orders. “She needs to make the arrangements if...if we don’t make it back.”
Ruki stares at his fellow officers, grateful that they had a good life, at least for a few years. They hope to return alive, but it does not seem likely. The enemy forces draw closer by the day, and this is perhaps their last stand.
“Goodbye, (Name),” he whispers, praying his voice will carry across the land to the toy house (Name) loves to play in every morning after breakfast. He’s not so sure about his voice, but he’s certain the gem will.
We’ll see you soon, my child.

the GazettE CD & DVD for sale
So, I'm selling my collection of merchandise, everything that I've collected in these 15 years.
I still love them, make no mistakes, but I don't feel the need for physical copies anymore. Plus, my collection is still in italy and I've been living in UK for 8 years now, I don't want to leave it there collecting dust for nothing, maybe some of you would like to have some of my stuff.
This is a list of everything I own: CDs, DVDs, magazines and pamphlets.
Everything over lined means is not physically with me at the moment, I'll post an update whenever I'm in Italy or in UK and I'll edit this post accordingly.
Prices are non negotiable.
I ship worldwide with registered air mail. I will ship twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, depending on when you send me the payment. For the shipping costs I will contact you privately and let you know how much is going to be and my PayPal address.
If you have any more questions send me a dm.
First comes, first served rule!
Most of the items are in perfect conditions, although some of the CDs may have small cracks in the case. That's due to shipping damage from Japan not of me not taking proper care of them. If that's the case, I'll show you pictures of the damages. Same goes for the magazine, they are like new but if there are issues, I'll let you know.
I'm in UK now so you can see the list is definitely smaller that what it used to be. I'm gonna go back to Italy for a week at the beginning of December 2020, if you want something tell me in advance and I'll ship it as soon as I'm there.
