Everybody talks about how much Barty loves reg, but let's talk about how sick in love reg is with barty. He's typically unnerved and colder around most people, less so people he's close to. But when barty enters the room, you can just see it in his eyes. For the first few years of Hogwarts the only person who could ever make him laugh was barty because he's just so funny (even when he's not). Regulus just thinks he's sooo amazing, he's left in awe every time barty looks at him. He's obsessed with every movement, every word, every thing about him, he thinks everything he does is so perfect, he believes barty in his whole is perfect. Even when people criticize barty, Regulus wouldn't even understand why people want him to stop doing/being something. And he loves the way barty makes him feel like he, too, should be unchanged. Wherever barty goes, reg wants to as well, because it would be boring without barty. Regulus would be the person who hangs out without barty once in a blue moon, and the whole time hes just talking about him. And he would brag about barty, defend him to the people who thinks he's annoying or stupid. Any serious decision he'd have to make that barty would disagree with, he'd do it without telling barty, cause barty makes him forget everything he should do for what he needs. And he needs barty, the first person who was actually his, barty would never leave, he couldn't if he wanted to, because Regulus holds him too close. Barty would never try to leave reg and makes sure he knows it, but reg still pulls him as close as they can be, praying they become one so they'll never be apart. Even in death
#i cpuld go on about regulus being sooo down bad for barty for ages😔😔#lmk if you wanna part 2#not to say barty doesnt feel simaler#theres just so muh barty oinning for reg and reg just being. there.#which is justt not true#regulus is the number one yearner#bartylus#regulus black#barty crouch jr#starkiller#barty crouch junior#regulus arcturus black#marauders

Lily: Does anyone know why James and Regulus are sitting back to back holding hands?
Barty: They got in a pretty bad fight, Reg is mad at Potter.
Lily: Okay but why the hand holding then?
Remus: James got scared that Regulus doesn't love him anymore, so that's their solution until they calm down.

pride - february 23 - jegulus - @taylorswiftmicrofic - word count: 195
Regulus Black believed in house pride. He was known for wearing Slytherin gear almost as much as he wore his school uniform. Not only was it easy and comfortable, but he really was proud of his house, of many of the students who belonged to it.
So when he walked into the Great Hall one day wearing a maroon and gold jacket with the letters P O T T E R on the back…well, you couldn’t blame his friends for staring.
“What?” he snapped at Dorcas, who was staring the most openly.
“You…you’re wearing James’s jacket,” she gaped, pointing at him and blinking. “Potter’s Gryffindor jacket.”
“So? Haven’t you seen someone support their boyfriend while he plays Quidditch before?” Regulus grumbled, frowning. “Now pass the marmalade.”
Dorcas exchanged glances with Barty and Evan, who were never quiet, silent with surprise. But after neither of them said a word, she just shrugged and handed Regulus the marmalade. “Here,” she murmured, deciding to drop it.
But it was then that Barty found his voice. “Oh, you’re really down bad for him,” he said, amazement and glee in his voice.
Regulus’s returning death glare could’ve killed a Basilisk.

Hello! I checked around if you were taking request, if you’re not please ignore. But I loved your ‘my baby’ work. 😭😭 if you could maybe consider something where they transform? But like a baby werewolf? Protective Moony of course. Thank you 💅💅🫶🫶🫶
WHAT EVERYONE'S BEEN ASKING FOR IS HERE!
JUST WANT TO LET Y'ALL KNOW THAT I SPENT DAYS ON THIS STORY SO I JUST HOPE YOU LIKE IT😭🤍
MAMA MOONY AND HIS BABY
Wolfstar x daughter!reader
Marauders uncles + Regulus x Reader (platonic)
DIVIDERS CREDITS TO hyuneskkami AND strangergraphics-archive

IF YOU'RE NEW HERE I SUGGEST YOU READ THIS PART FIRST, JUST TO HAVE A LITTLE CONTEXT ON HOW R GETS BITTEN, BUT THIS FIC CAN BE READ AS A SINGLE STORY TOO^^
SUMMARY: After being bitten by Greyback you go through your first full moon and meet Moony for the first time.
WARNINGS: just fluff, extreme hurt/comfort, FEM!R but no use of Y/N, petnames, crying, maybe inaccurate description of a werewolf transformation but i don't care. There's no Barty but PETER IS HERE because i felt bad excluding him okay but he's kinda sweet in this so don't worry.
English is not my first language so feel free to correct me.
After that fateful night when Fenrir Greyback attacked and bit you, turning you into a werewolf, your life changed. And it had become hard at home, not just for you. But for your parents too.
First came the nightmares.
For days you couldn't go back to sleep alone in your room, because of the constant fear of opening your eyes and seeing two gray irises and yellowish canines staring at you in the dark, ready to attack you again and this time kill you.
Initially Remus or Sirius would stay in the bedroom with you until you fell asleep, but alas, that didn't happen for half an hour at least. It was so hard to comfort you and convince you not to be afraid. But neither of your parents would have blamed you: you were just a child who was facing far too much for her age. And you were their daughter, so they would never leave you alone, no matter what.
It was late at night when Remus felt his arm shake and he barely opened his eyes, letting out a yawn. The sound of someone sobbing next to him made him turn to turn on the light and as soon as the bedroom lit up his eyes met yours, red and full of tears that had already been streaming down your face for a few minutes.
"D-Dad..." you whimpered, clutching the stuffed animal that Regulus had given you when you were younger.
Remus looked at you with pity, cooing.
"Oh honey..."
He slowly sat up, rubbing a hand over his eyes to take away the tiredness, while Sirius, who was lying next to him on his stomach, with an arm stretched across his abdomen, squinted with an annoyed grimace. You raised your arms to your father, who bent down to lift you into his, holding you to his chest as you sat in his lap.
"Did you have another nightmare?" Remus asked softly, stroking your back with his fingertips and you nodded.
"I saw him again and h-he wanted to... He w-wanted to hurt me, but i-i..." you sobbed, rubbing your wet cheek against his shirt. "But i couldn't escape. I was a-alone"
You closed your eyes, tears coming out at the memory of that horrible nightmare. But the person you had dreamed was real and he was still wandering out there, just waiting for you to come out.
Remus' heart broke as he felt you tremble like a leaf against his body and he tried to comfort you in every way he could.
"Oh sweetheart, i'm sorry" he murmured, covering your head with kisses and continuing to caress you. "It's okay now, Dad is here. Just breathe, it's okay"
In the meantime Sirius, still lying on his stomach, finally opened his eyes and seeing the scene, which was no longer a novelty in the Lupin-Black household, he stretched out an arm towards your leg, running his thumb over your knee, still too tired to say anything but offering his support nonetheless.
A few minutes of silence passed, in which your parents managed to calm you down, but only a little. In fact, when Remus was about to stand up to take you back to your room, you wrapped your arms around his neck, shaking your head frantically.
"No no!" you whined, making him stop in his tracks, raising your head to look at him with eyes still full of tears ready to be shed again. "Please Dad, c-can i sleep with you? P-Please?"
Remus exchanged a glance with Sirius, who propped himself up on one elbow on the mattress, and then looked back at you.
"Darling..." he began, but you interrupted him. "Just for tonight, please. I-I promise i'll sleep in my room tomorrow. I'm too scared to be alone right now, i can't do it. Please Dad"
Remus let out a breath through his nose, but then nodded because who was he to deny your request when you needed him the most? And without wasting any more time Sirius patted the covers with one hand and an inviting smile on his face.
"C'mere babydoll" he said. "You can sleep with us tonight"
You sniffed one last time and finally gave a small, relieved smile of your own, sliding out of Remus' arms to crawl towards Sirius'. You went to press yourself against his chest, seeking that comforting warmth that only he and Remus could give you and he tightened his arms around your body, pulling you even closer and nuzzling your head.
Remus slowly crawled back under the covers with a yawn before turning off the light and turning to you, placing his arm over both your body and Sirius'.
"I solemnly promise you that you will never be alone, my darling girl" Sirius whispered, rubbing the ends of your hair between his fingers. "No matter what happens, Dad and i will always be here to protect you. Okay?"
You closed your eyes, glad not to see the eyes of the monster that terrified you glow in the dark. "Okay," you sighed, clutching the stuffie to your chest.
The last thing you felt was Remus' lips landing on the back of your head, whispering a soft "We love you" before you finally returned to dreamland, where you could roam without any fear.
Then came the mood swings, the ones during the day before the full moon.
Now, both Remus and Sirius always kept an eye on the calendar that told them when the full moon was each month, so they could prepare everything they needed and so they also knew when your first full moon would be. But it still felt weird to see their daughter acting in a way that... That wasn't like her.
Sirius had grown accustomed from school to the fact that Remus tended to become a little... Possessive towards him as the full moon approached. But seeing that effect on his daughter? Oh, that was another story entirely.
Your parents watched you walk into the kitchen with a prominent pout on your face, as if you had had a hellish night.
"Um..." Sirius began, giving you an uncertain smile as he sat at the table. "Good morning baby- Oh!"
Before he could even finish his sentence, you were flinging yourself against his body, wrapping your arms tightly around his torso and burying your face in his clothes. The two of them exchanged a look and Sirius smirked, placing a hand on your head to caress you tenderly.
"Are we being affectionate today?" he asked and then chuckled slightly when he saw you simply nod without saying anything.
Remus moved away from the stove to bring breakfast to the table, placing a hand on your shoulder to make you sit at the table. "Honey, have breakfast first-"
"No!"
Your parents' eyes widened when you interrupted him with that word. Remus blinked a few times. Maybe he had misheard...
"Did you say-"
"No!" you exclaimed again, lifting your head to frown at him. "'M not hungry. Just want Daddy"
Sirius glanced at Remus, biting his lower lip to keep from laughing, and Remus crossed his arms.
"This is no time to hug Daddy" he said calmly, even though he was starting to get nervous on the inside too (stupid full moon). "You have to eat your breakfast"
But you shook your head stubbornly, wrapping your arms around Sirius' waist even tighter if possible and sticking close to him. "I said no! I don't want breakfast! And i don't want you stealing Daddy from me!"
Remus looked at you in shock. You had never expressed your opinion on the subject, and surely the old you (before you became a Werewolf, that is) would never have done it in such a... Grumpy way.
"I do NOT steal Daddy from you, young lady" he replied.
"Yes you DO!" you retorted, tightening your grip possessively around Sirius' body. "You always cuddle with Daddy! Every day and every night and i never do! It's not fair!"
"It's not true that you never cuddle with him, don't be so dramatic now. And still, Daddy happens to be MY husband"
"But he's MY Daddy too!"
Sirius looked back and forth between you and Remus, unsure whether to butt in or enjoy the show.
It was unusual for both him and Remus to see you so fond of him: everyone knew you had a soft spot for Remus, as Sirius tended to be more of the kind of father who embarrassed you in front of the others and when he did something stupid you would run to seek your other father's affections. But having two werewolves fighting over him was even more fun. But maybe it was best to calm things down between the two of you before things got too bad.
"Okay, enough bickering you jealous creatures" Sirius said loudly, getting your attention.
He bent down to lift you into his arms and sat you on his lap, turning you towards the table.
"You can sit with me, darling" he said with a smile, placing a hand on your head.
You immediately turned to look at Remus with a tongue sticking out and he opened his eyes and mouth wide in insult and shock.
"But!" Sirius continued making you look at him again. "I want you to eat breakfast. Tomorrow is going to be a long day for you, you need to be strong. Okay baby?"
"M'kay..." you muttered with a sigh, turning and starting to eat.
"And you" Sirius added, pointing a finger at his husband. "Be less harsh on her, it's her first full moon. Now sit down and eat something too"
Remus rolled his eyes and obeyed without saying anything, sitting at the table opposite him and looking at you with a jealous pout, while you ate your breakfast with a satisfied smile.
And then came the night of the full moon. While Lily and Harry had stayed at their house, James, Regulus and Peter (another uncle, a friend of your parents who you had the pleasure of meeting years ago), had wanted to come and keep you company and Remus couldn't have been more grateful for their presence. Knowing that at least there was someone else there for you besides your parents would have helped make your first experience (and the others to come) less scary. When he was little, there were his parents yes, but then when the Marauders came into his life, it had changed for the better for him. It wasn't pleasant to be alone. Not at all.
"Aren't you coming with us, Uncle Reggie?" you asked nervously, looking up at your uncle and squeezing his hand.
He gave you a saddened look, knowing he couldn't be there to comfort you and he bent down on his knees to get to your height. "I wish i could but i can't amour. I'm not an animagus, i'd just risk getting hurt. When you and the others come back i'll be here waiting for you"
"Okay..."
He gave you a small smile of encouragement and then hugged you, leaving a loving kiss on your head.
"Everything is going to be fine" he whispered near your ear, running his hand over your back. "We're all here with you okay?"
You nodded slowly and then reluctantly walked away from him and followed Sirius, who took your hand and led you to the front door, where Remus, James and Peter were already waiting for you.
Regulus watched you walk out the door and into the woods behind your house, where your parents usually went during Remus' full moon, but this time you would be there with them.
The woods weren't scary. Even though it was dark the moonlight, which was still partly covered by clouds, filtered through the branches of the trees and the stars you loved to admire from your window were shining in the sky like fireflies. The only sounds you could hear were those of your footsteps, with your feet occasionally stepping on a twig or leaf, accompanied by the distant hooting of some owl that resounded among the trees or of other small animals that hid in the bushes.
You looked around nervously, not because you were afraid of the woods, but because you were afraid of seeing Greyback's figure suddenly appear and attack you and your family. What that man, no, that monster had done to you would've traumatized you for life.
Sirius, who was still holding your hand and walking with you to prevent you from stumbling somewhere, noticed your fearful look and squeezed your hand.
"It's just us here, darling" he murmured with a small smile, as you raised your head to look at him. "I promise, no one will bother us here"
"A-Are you sure?"
He nodded and then James joined the conversation from behind you.
"If anyone comes in besides us, leave it to good old Prongs" he said puffing out his chest, then reaching out to your head and ruffling your hair. "No one will bother you as long as i'm here"
And you smiled slightly. "Thanks uncle James"
More minutes passed in silence during which the two of you walked deeper and deeper into the woods, until at a certain point you all stopped in your tracks. The men raised their heads to look up at the moon that was visible between the treetops, still covered by clouds, but not for long.
Remus let out a small sigh and then crouched down on the ground in front of you, taking your small hands in his and looking up at you with teary eyes. Sirius remained standing behind you, his hands on your shoulders and his thumbs rubbing on you gently.
"Remember what we told you" the former said softly, smiling at you. "It will hurt a little at first, but you don't have to be afraid. It won't hurt all the time. When you're a wolf, you won't feel any pain anymore. And Padfoot, Prongs, and Wormtail will be with you"
You tightened your grip on his fingers. "B-But... Why don't you stay here?" you asked fearfully, knowing that both of your parents wouldn't be here during the transformation and that terrified you. You needed them. Both of them.
"We don't know how the wolves will react when they meet" he explained calmly. "It's best that we stay apart at least during the first transformation. And if everything goes well then you and i can stay together, mh?"
You looked at him with tears in your eyes, still not convinced by his words.
"I don't want this to hurt" you whimpered.
Remus looked at you with regret, his heart broken. Neither he nor Sirius liked seeing you so scared. You were still a child, their child. You didn't deserve any of this.
"Oh i know baby, i know. Come here"
He reached out to wrap his arms around you, pulling you against his chest and you immediately wrapped yours around his neck, burying your face in his shoulder. Remus rubbed your back and exchanged a regretful look with Sirius.
"As i told you, it will hurt at first, yes, but then you won't feel anything anymore, i promise" he turned his face to give you a little kiss on your hair and you tightened your grip around his neck, not wanting to let go of him. "Don't be afraid. Whatever happens, Daddy, your uncles and i are with you. I would never let you suffer alone, you know that right? Dad will always be with you my love"
You nodded without saying anything and remained hugged to him for a couple of minutes that seemed endless. Then James' voice, after glancing at the moon above him, resounded through the trees.
"Moons, i don't think there's more time" he murmured, almost regretfully, not wanting to be the cause of an interruption between the two of you.
Remus looked at him, nodding, and pulled away from you, holding you at arm's length and bringing a hand to your face to wipe away the few tears that had escaped your eyes.
"I'll see you soon, okay, sweetheart?" he asked, giving you a smile and you slowly nodded.
"Okay..."
"I love you so much"
"Me too Dad"
Remus leaned over to kiss your forehead and then stood up, while you looked up at him. He exchanged glances with your other father and his best friends, before turning and walking away from you, disappearing into the darkness of the night.
You watched him walk away, then turned to Sirius, while James and Peter transformed.
"Daddy?"
He lowered his head to you. "Hm?"
"What if..." you played nervously with your fingers. "What if Moony doesn't like me?"
After finding out that your father was a werewolf and after you were bitten, your parents and uncles had told you how it worked in broad terms, as far as your child's mind could comprehend everything. You had known the names of their alter-egos, if we want to call them that, of those who became once transformed into animagi.
But the main difference was one: Padfoot, Prongs and Wormtail were always Sirius, James and Peter. But Moony and Remus? No, it wasn't the same thing. The wolf inside Remus was not Remus. He didn't recognize his friends, his family. Moony only recognized his pack. And your wolf had never been part of his pack. Moony didn't know he was going to be dealing with his own daughter.
Sirius knelt down to your height like Remus had done earlier and gave a small, comforting smile, his sharp eyes looking at you solemnly.
"Moony's not bad, darling, you know that" he began and you nodded slowly. "So i'm pretty sure we won't have any problems. He might be a little nervous at first, but that's because he doesn't know you. But he'll get used to you, like he did with me and the others"
"Are you sure?" you asked for the umpteenth time.
Sirius nodded without hesitation, for your sake. Truth be told, a small part of him wasn't really sure how the meeting between your wolf and Moony would end, but he hoped with all his heart that it would go well. Theoretically, given your age, your wolf should still be a pup, right? And Moony wouldn't hurt a pup... Would he?
Oh God, if something happened to you because of them, neither he nor Remus would have ever forgiven themselves.
"I mean, Moony has accepted troublemakers like me, Uncle James and Peter into his pack" your father continued, gesturing with one hand to himself and the two animals behind him, who nodded in agreement with his words, wagging their tails. "So i'm sure he'll have no problem welcoming a cute little puppy like you into our group. Who wouldn't want you??"
He gently squeezed your cheek between his fingers playfully and you giggled, while Sirius felt his heart lighten at the sound of your laughter. He was happy to see you happy even if just for a bit, despite the bad situation you were going through. It was the calm before the storm.
"But if Moony gets a little um, touchy, then i'll take care of him and you'll stay with Prongs and Wormtail. They'll take care of you, okay babydoll? We won't let you get hurt, i promise"
You nodded again and Sirius released your cheek from his fingers, but only so he could take your hand and bring it to his lips, kissing the soft palm.
Suddenly the light from above that illuminated the forest became brighter and when you all raised your heads you saw that the clouds had moved, revealing the full round moon, shining in all its beauty.
Sirius quickly turned to look at you. The first thing he noticed was your pupils were larger than normal, while inside you felt your heart start to race. Your legs shook and your forehead began to sweat. And before you could stop it, the pain slowly took over your body.
First it started from your head, which began to throb as if someone was hammering it. You put your hands on your temples, pressing as hard as you could, but to no avail, and you shot a frightened look at your father.
"D-Daddy..."
Sirius tried to reach out to you, wanting only to wrap you in his arms and make the pain go away. But you all knew that wasn't possible.
"It's okay" he murmured, trying to hold back the panic, for you. "It's okay baby, i'm here"
You gritted your teeth, squeezing your eyes. Your heartbeat was pounding in your ears and your knees were shaking with anxiety. The pain was only increasing. But not just in your head.
Suddenly, something inside you started to move. Literally move. You couldn't help but cry out as a powerful wave of pain shot through your back. Your legs gave way to your weight and fatigue and you fell to the ground, curling up in a futile attempt to save yourself from the torture. Tears came out of your eyes and slid down your face, your chest rose and fell in heavy gasps and sobs mixed with moans of pain echoed in the forest. Your clothes tore over your body that was changing without your control.
Sirius ignored the tears that he was also shedding and approached your body, holding your hand and trying to comfort you, but his sweet words of comfort were practically inaudible, drowned out by your screams and cries.
Peter, sitting on Prongs' head, turned away so as not to look, covering his face with his little paws. Just hearing you was enough to make him understand how much you were suffering.
James instead lowered his head slightly in a sorry way but unlike him, he couldn't look away. He could see your face distorting, the bones moving inside your body with cracking sounds that made his blood run cold. It seemed impossible to him that he was witnessing something like this, but not because the transformation had traumatized him, no.
After all the years spent with Remus he already knew how it worked. But seeing his best friends' daughter like that? He didn't think he would get over it so easily.
James prayed with all his heart that wherever Remus was he couldn't hear your screams of pain.
But finally, after what seemed like endless minutes, the pain slowly disappeared, even if you didn't notice. Your hand slipped from Sirius' palm and your fingers shortened, while your nails grew disproportionately long. Your body filled with hair and your agonized moans changed into high-pitched yelps.
Sirius remained kneeling, staring at you with wide eyes. And he would have continued to do so if it hadn't been for James, who approached him from behind and pushed him with his antlers, telling him to transform, and he did.
And so the stag, the rat and the black dog saw curled up on the ground, among your clothes, a small wolf cub who was looking at them from below with large, shiny eyes that shone in the moonlight.
Prongs' ears twitched with joy and if he were human, nothing would have stopped him from shouting "She's so cuteeee!". Wormtail let out a small sigh that made his whiskers twitch, relieved that at least now you weren't suffering anymore.
Padfoot stared into your eyes, admiring you in amazement: he would have recognized that sweet little face, those bright little eyes, that fur color that matched your hair, anywhere. It was you, there was no doubt about it. Oh, if only he had a camera handy he would have filled the fridge with photos of how cute you were in wolf form.
He took a small step towards you with the intention of giving a small innocent sniff to let you know that he and the others were not a threat, but before his nose could touch you, you turned to scamper away at full speed, seeking refuge in the shadows of the trees.
Padfoot didn't hold back from letting out a bark of call that was obviously ignored by you and after turning to take a look at Prongs and Wormtail he also started running in the direction you had run away. The three of them realized that maybe chasing you wasn't the best thing to do, but they couldn't leave you wandering alone in the middle of the forest. Especially knowing that Moony was there too.
It didn't take them long to find you, since you were a puppy and with your short legs you couldn't go very far and Padfoot barked again when he saw you running a few meters away from him. But before he could reach you, you suddenly tripped over a root you hadn't seen and rolled to the ground with a small yelp, soiling your soft fur. Sirius slowed down and James and Peter stopped just behind him, while you slowly stood up and adorably shook your body to get rid of the dirt. When your gaze met your father's again (even though you were unable to recognize him) you froze in fear, looking at him with fearful eyes and he lowered his ears sadly.
Then a low growl echoed through the trees. And out of the shadows came the figure of Moony, panting, approaching with small, slow steps, as if searching for who was bothering him in that paceful night. Padfoot and Prongs became alert, while Wormtail watched the scene with a pounding heart. It wasn't that the three were afraid of Moony: they were afraid of what he would do to you.
You too noticed his presence and when you turned around you saw the bright eyes of the great wolf who had now averted his gaze from his companions and was looking down at you. Your little paws began to tremble with anxiety and you slowly bent your head down, shutting your eyes and whimpering, hoping he wouldn't hurt you.
Sirius took a step forward, careful not to make any sudden movements that might scare you or bother Moony, but both he and James were ready to intervene if the situation degenerated.
Those few seconds of icy silence that seemed to last forever were finally broken when the wolf bent his muzzle towards your little body. And when everyone (reluctantly) expected to see him suddenly open his jaws and take the cub in one bite, Moony let out a heavy breath from his nose that ruffled your fur. And before you knew it, you felt his warm breath envelop you like a blanket, followed by a damp sensation on your head. You found the courage to open one eye again and saw that the wolf was no longer looking at you as if you were his midnight snack. His eyes had softened and he almost seemed to smile at you as if... As if he already knew you. In another reality.
With great relief the three Marauders watched the tender scene of Moony rubbing his head along your little body, occasionally daring to give you a few affectionate licks along your fur, and you let yourself go, basking in his maternal cuddles and wagging your tail happily in search of attention.
As he admired you, Sirius thought that if he had been in human form at that moment he would have cried. And surely Remus would have too. You were so happy and carefree, it seemed like you had always been part of the pack. You were the little family that had always been there. You and Moony seemed destined to be together.
Then the wolf raised his head high and let out a loud howl that echoed through the trees, so much so that some crows took flight, disturbed by the sound. You wagged your tail excitedly and did the same thing, trying to copy him as best as you could but the howl that came out of your mouth sounded higher and absolutely non-threatening compared to your father's. Moony looked at you proudly and you went to rub your body against his paw, proud of the fact that he was proud of you, while the other Marauders if they had been human would have looked at you letting out a chorused "Awww!".
Padfoot let out a contented bark and pawed forward innocently, wanting to join the game. But he had to stop in his tracks when Moony himself suddenly raised his head towards him and growled again, this time louder than before and took a heavy step forward, towering over your body with his and staring straight into his eyes with a menacing look.
Wormtail squeaked in fear and Prongs also approached the dog, worried about him. You remained still, hidden behind Moony's leg and watching the scene with still slightly fearful eyes. Padfoot on the other hand couldn't help but let out a small whine and his ears drooped sadly as they looked at his husband, in wolf form, with shiny eyes. It wasn't Remus' fault of course, he didn't realize that. Moony was just acting like a protective pack leader. But he still didn't like being seen as a threat to his own daughter.
And while Sirius and James were thinking of a way to reason with their friend, no one else noticed how Peter had slunk down the stag's body, and slowly approached you. Only when he was a few inches away did you notice his presence.
Moony bent his muzzle towards the rat and snarled once more, showing his teeth, but did nothing else, he only limited himself to threatening him. Wormtail squeaked again, while a shiver passed along his body to the tip of his tail which was shaking like a leaf. You placed your eyes on the small creature and tilted your head, staring at him curiously.
The tension grew, but Peter was brave enough to come closer until he was practically in front of you. Moony looked down at him with a watchful gaze, because even though he knew that the other three were (the only) members of his pack and that he could trust, something inside him moved him to behave like a mother protecting her cub.
Until...
The rat slowly raised a paw towards you. Moony growled softly but both you and he continued to keep your gaze fixed on him. Then his little paw touched your nose, resting his whole palm gently on it. You made a confused noise, but Wormtail seemed to smile, while he continued to stroke your small and wet nose.
Then you suddenly sneezed loudly, so loud that Wormtail rolled backwards for a few inches while you shook away with your head the tickle that his hand had caused you. Above you, Moony huffed in what sounded like an amused scoff and Padfoot also barked, while Prongs made a happy noise, closing his eyes and flicking his ears.
Padfoot took the opportunity to approach again and this time Moony let him. First the dog playfully snuggled against his side and the wolf closed his eyes, relaxing and enjoying the familiar contact, while you, still hidden under the latter's belly, looked up at them with amazed eyes. Then, after a few seconds of cuddling, Padfoot moved back to bend down on his front legs and come to your eye level, and swayed his bottom left and right, wagging his tail. He barked a couple of times and the sound echoed throughout the forest, while he panted with his mouth wide open and his tongue hanging out, inviting you to play with him.
Something inside you told you to accept because you could trust him, but you were still slightly intimidated to leave the safety of the wolf's body that had done nothing but take care of you and keep you safe. But as if he had read your mind, Moony himself bent his muzzle towards you again and nudged it against your body, pushing you to take a couple of steps towards Padfoot. You turned to look at him and he seemed to smile with his eyes, as if to say "Go. You can trust him", and he gave you a couple more light pushes, urging you to play with him. And so you did.
Usually when Moony was with his pack mates they didn't spend the night playing together as if they were puppies and in fact that night was no exception: he simply sat there watching while you and Padfoot rolled around together on the ground, barking joyfully and not caring if your furs got dirty. And unfortunately he didn't know it, but it was just like when you were humans, when Remus would get lost in admiring you and Sirius playing together in the garden.
And so the night passed pleasantly.
When Padfoot chased you through the trees, if you didn't seek refuge behind Moony's body, you would hide between Prongs' legs and every now and then the latter would let you play with his antlers and you would even nibble them or push against them in a playful test of strength, like two stags fighting.
And if Wormtail thought there was nothing to fear in playing with a small puppy like you, he had to think again after risking a couple of heart attacks in the course of a few hours, after you had almost crushed him under your paws in your euphoria of playing, not realizing your superior physical strength compared to his.
But everything else went well and Sirius and the others could not be more grateful (and they knew that Remus would be too).
Peter was the first to notice that the sky was slowly starting to lighten and the first stars were disappearing from above your heads. He hastily touched Padfoot's paw with his and the latter raised his head to look up and when he realized that his friend was right he lowered his ears, both because the time to play with you was over but above all because it meant that the full moon was also ending.
In fact, after casting a sad glance at Moony, who in turn looked at him in a solemn but still confused way, not understanding his sudden change in behavior, before either of them could act you began to howl in pain, collapsing to the ground with your body shaking.
Moony was the first to jump up when he heard your heart-wrenching whines, but he didn't even manage to take a step towards you that a jolt of pain pervaded his body, forcing him to bend down to the ground too.
Prongs and Wormtail went to him, while Padfoot quickly scampered towards you, looking at you with shining eyes and letting out a pained sound, as if he too felt what you and Remus were going through. But all he could do was nuzzle your body, trying to comfort you and enduring the heartbreaking howls made by father and daughter that echoed through the forest.
Your bodies reshaped, the fur covering you shortened until it disappeared and the animal whimpers slowly turned into human sobs. Until after endless minutes of agony, instead of the adorable wolf cub, your naked little body curled up on the ground returned.
You sniffled, slowly opening your eyes and meeting Padfoot's worried gaze above you. "D-Daddy..."
Sirius quickly transformed back and bent over your body, wrapping his arms around you and bringing you to his chest.
"I'm here baby shh" he murmured, giving you a few kisses on the top of your head. "Daddy's here, it's okay. You did a great job babydoll, it's all over now"
But you were tired as hell, all you wanted to do was close your eyes and sleep, lulled by your father's caresses and his loving words that would never fail to make you feel safe.
"Daddy?" you asked him weakly and he lowered his gaze, looking at you worriedly. "Can i... Can i sleep just a little bit? I'm tired..."
Sirius gave a small pained smile but nodded, holding you closer. "Go to sleep, my love" he whispered in that typical voice he used to make you fall sleep when he was telling you a story or humming a lullaby. "I'll take care of you, don't worry. Just sleep"
It didn't take you a minute to close your eyes and enter the world of dreams, free from fear and pain and thankfully (for the moment) without the scars that would mark your body forever as reminders of that night and all the others to come. And Sirius hoped that would never be the case.
And as your father watched you sleep with a smile, his thumb gently stroking your forehead, Peter suddenly appeared standing in front of him, forcing him to look away. His friend handed him a blanket (the Marauders always brought some with them into the forest for the end of the full moon) and Sirius took it, wrapping your body in it.
"Thanks Pete" he said with a grateful smile and the other returned it.
Then another voice rang out, Remus'.
"W-Where is she?? Is she okay?? Did i-"
"Hey hey calm down Moons" James interrupted next to him, placing a strong hand on his shoulder to calm him. "It's alright, trust me. Don't push yourself"
Remus sat up quickly and when he saw Sirius he kneeled his way towards him but he didn't get very far, still overcome by the fatigue and pain of the transformation. Then his eyes landed on you in his arms and he began to feel panic rising inside him, fearing the worst.
"D-Did i hurt her?? Please Sirius, tell me i didn't hurt her, please"
But Sirius shook his head, giving him a comforting smile and sliding along the ground towards him, careful not to wake you. "She's fine Rem, i promise. You didn't hurt her, she's fine. She's just resting, look"
As James placed the other blanket they had brought over his shoulders, Remus craned his neck forward and felt his heart lighten as he saw you sleeping soundly in his husband's arms. You were okay.
"I'm so glad" Remus sighed heavily, letting himself go to snuggle into Sirius' side and the long haired man bent his face to press a kiss to his hair.
"Everything went well. Moony was quite fond of her, you know?"
Remus lifted his head to look at him with a small, surprised smile. "Yeah?"
"Yeah" the other nodded. "He looked like a mother with her baby. Mama Moony. Nice name, don't you think?"
And everyone chuckled, while Remus closed his eyes, wanting to just rest for a few minutes. Now that he knew you were really okay he could finally relax.
When you opened your eyes again, the sunlight coming through your bedroom window was the first thing that almost blinded you. With a loud yawn you raised your arms up to stretch your muscles, but you were forced to lower them again when you felt a slight pain in moving them, as if you had spent the whole day before doing gymnastics and now your body was sore. And before you could get out of bed or call your parents, the door to your bedroom slowly opened and Regulus' head popped out from behind it.
"Uncle Reggie" you smiled, quickly forgetting the pain.
The man smiled back and entered the bedroom, closing the door behind him and joining you, sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Good morning, chérie" he leaned over to give you a hug and you hugged him back tightly, happy to see him. "Did you sleep well? How do you feel?"
"I was really tired, but i slept good. Now i feel fine, more or less... It still hurts a little everywhere"
Regulus nodded understandingly. "I guess it's normal. Do you remember anything from last night? How did it go?"
You shook your head, while unconsciously one of your hands went to play with his fingers on the blankets.
"I don't remember much. I only remember that my dads and uncles and i went to the forest and at a certain point my body felt like it was burning everywhere. It hurt a lot. But i don't remember what happened after. And when i became human again i saw Daddy and i fell asleep"
Your uncle gave you a comforting smile, his thumb moving across your fingers. "That's normal too, you can't remember what your wolf went through. Not even Remus ever remembers what he does during a full moon. But the worst is over and we're all glad you and him are okay"
At one point the sound of your stomach growling loudly resonated throughout the room and you and Regulus exchanged an amused look. "Do you feel like coming down for breakfast chérie?" he asked and you nodded frantically.
Regulus stood up and offered you a hand, helping you off your bed and leading you out of your room and downstairs. Even as you were walking down the stairs you could hear a mix of voices coming from the dining room and you couldn't wait to see your parents again and have breakfast with your whole family (as if you hadn't seen them in weeks, but for you the night before had seemed like an eternity).
As you turned the corner you saw Sirius standing there serving breakfast at the table, his hair tied back and wearing his own personal and embarrassing chef's apron that he rarely wore, since Remus was the one who mostly cooked. Remus was sitting at the table, a tired expression on his face but accompanied by a serene smile as he looked at his partner with that typical look of a lovesick teenager. James next to him was arguing with both of your parents about something, but from the way he spoke it seemed like he was completely in the wrong. And finally Peter sat across the table looking at everyone with a calm smile.
James was the first to notice you and Regulus' presence and called your name with a wide smile, happy to see you healthy. Immediately Remus and Sirius also turned to you and if the former tried to get up to meet you, but failed due to the lack of strength in his legs, the other was the first to put what he had in his hand on the table to reach you and his brother and pick you up.
"My sweet babydoll, good morning!" he exclaimed with a wide smile, and then nuzzling his nose on your cheek, making you giggle. "I thought you were going to sleep until dinner time, you know? Sleepyhead"
You hugged him around the neck, rubbing your cheek against his in turn and giving him a couple of loud kisses on the nose. "I got so hungry, Daddy"
"Yeah i bet, after the night you had" he replied jokingly, then looked at you more seriously. "By the way, are you feeling okay, my love? Does it hurt somewhere? And don't even try to lie to me"
You nodded slightly. "My body hurts a little, but not that bad. I solemnly swear~"
Sirius studied you for a few more seconds, trying to figure out if there was something you wanted to keep from him, but seeing your bright smile (despite everything that had happened) made him realize that there was nothing to worry about anymore.
"Mh okay, i trust you," he said, then smiled again, leaning forward to give you a small kiss on the forehead. "Now sit down and i'll make you the best breakfast of your life. You deserve it"
He bent to set you down, but instead of sitting at the table like he had invited you to do, without wasting time you ran towards Remus, who was still sitting in his chair waiting for you, throwing yourself against his legs.
"Dad!"
Remus smiled sweetly and picked you up in his arms, sitting you on his lap and holding you against his chest. "Oh lovely girl, hi" he murmured against your hair and then placed a series of kisses on it. "I missed you, you know? Daddy told me you were so brave last night, good job we're so proud of you"
"I missed you too" you returned, tightening your grip around his torso as his tapered fingers caressed your back. Then you leaned back slightly to look him in the eyes. "Are you okay?"
Remus felt his eyes water at those words. But it wasn't because it was the first time you had worried about him, no. You had a sensitive soul and you always worried about those around you, whether they were animals, insects, plants, your uncles, your friends. You always worried, especially about him and Sirius. No, Remus almost cried on the spot because despite the hellish night you had been through, you had the courage to ask if HE was okay. You hadn't thought of yourself first and foremost. And that was one thing he admired about you.
"Sweetheart" Remus cooed, lifting a hand to rest on your face and running his thumb over your cheek affectionately. "I'm okay. But how many times have i told you not to worry about me, hm? I'm used to it now, but you need to learn to think about yourself too. It's MY job as your dad to worry about you, not the other way around"
"I know but-"
"No buts" he interrupted you softly and you nuzzled your face into his warm palm, staring into his eyes. "Listen, i know you do this because you love me and i appreciate it, honey, so much. But being a werewolf is serious and sadly you're still too young to do this all on your own. So i want you to tell me, Daddy, or one of your uncles if something ever bothers you. Okay?"
You were silent for a couple of seconds, mulling over his words until you gave in.
"Okaaay..." you muttered, looking down.
Over your head, Remus and Sirius exchanged knowing but amused glances, already knowing that no matter how many times they told you, you'd never stop thinking about your parents before yourself.
Your father leaned over to kiss your forehead like Sirius had. "You want to have breakfast with me?"
"Of course!" you nodded frantically and he chuckled as he spun you around on his lap, facing the table, while you slapped your hands on the table in anticipation of your beloved food.
And while Regulus also sat down at the table with everyone, Sirius placed a nice steaming plate in front of you that made your mouth water, accompanied by a cup of hot tea for Remus.
"For Mama Moony and Baby Moony" he said with a smirk, while Regulus and the other two Marauders chuckled.
You didn't pay attention to his words because as soon as your breakfast appeared before your eyes you began to devour it, but behind you Remus gave him a look that was returned by a wink from the other, who then leaned over to give you a kiss on the head and one to Remus' temple before joining the table and enjoying breakfast.
And no one cared about the fear of facing the next full moons anymore. Because even though it would be difficult and painful, as long as your family stayed together you could face anything. And as long as your parents were with you you were not afraid.

Town troublemaker Barty Crouch Jr. went from an irritating pre-teen to a teenage dirtbag to a reasonably chaotic adult.
At twelve he's eligible to skip a grade but his behavior is so bad no teacher lets him and it pisses his dad off.
At fourteen he gives himself a stick-and-poke tattoo in a stranger's basement while his dad thinks he's studying at a friend's house.
At fifteen he loses his virginity to a random girl from his pre-calc class in his dad's car. He's not old enough to drive and gets pulled over by the police. His dad locks up his bedroom window after that. Barty learns to pick locks at fifteen.
At sixteen, he gets high in Walmart parking lots with people he doesn't even know twice a week. No one knows who he gets it from and rumors are circling that he grows it himself, when in reality he gets it from his friend whose dad has a prescription.
At eighteen he has twenty tattoos, all done by either himself or a random stranger at a party. He's never at home, always crashing on the couch of a friend of a friend. He could go to any college he wants, but he wants to just be left alone.
At twenty he moves out of his hometown and never looks back. He doesn't pack, just buys a shitty car and drives until it breaks down. He uses the leftover money he has to put a deposit down on a shitty studio apartment.
At twenty-one he gets a job at the local bar and meets Regulus Black, who then introduces him to Evan Rosier.
At twenty-two he has a best friend and a boyfriend. He still gets tattoos in basements but this time they're courtesy of his friends who need someone to practice on for their apprenticeships. He still parties and crashes on couches but he knows the brand of the alcohol he's drinking and the couch has been made up just for him.
His life is average, but it's better than it ever has been.

Chaperone
Series Masterlist
Sirius Black x Fem!Slytherin!reader
2.5k words
cw: smoking, drinking, fluff
You’re laying on the couch with your feet in Regulus’ lap while he reads. You are resting your eyes, but you swear you aren’t falling asleep. There isn’t much going on in the Slytherin Common Room. At least there isn’t until Dorcas is leaning over the back of the couch right above your face. She reaches down and pokes your cheek.
“Go away,” you grumble, turning onto your side.
“You’ve been selected to come to Gryffindor with me!” Dorcas sings excitedly.
“I just went! Take Dory. Take Evan. Take Barty. Avery, Wilkes, Mulicber won’t go… Snape! He won’t need much convincing when you tell him Lily will be there!”
“Ugh. Black, you want to go?” Dorcas asks Regulus, who doesn’t look up from his book. She’s still leaning over the couch.
“Quality time with brother dearest? I’ll pass, Meadowes,” he says, not looking up from his book. His book is resting more firmly on your feet so you know he’s at least listening to your conversation with some interest.
“Which brings me back to you, lovely. Plus, you’ve been requested.”
You roll back onto your back and stare up at her.
“I’ve been requested? Who?”
“The Gryffindors? I don’t know. Marls didn’t specify.”
You glare up at her.
“Come up! Up you get! You’re changing and going!”
She grabs your hands and pulls you into sitting up. You groan.
“Fine… But you owe me.”
Less than fifteen minutes later, you have changed into jeans and a simple black t-shirt and are following Dorcas out of the Slytherin Common Room.
“Why do you still need an escort anyways? I think all of the Gryffindors know you are seeing Marlene,” you ask after a mostly silent walk.
“Less awkward than walking in alone,” she says. “God forbid I try to get our friend groups to mingle.”
You shake your head as Dorcas gives the password to the portrait of the Fat Lady. As she swings open, you are met with music and the smell of alcohol and smoke. You make a face and shoot a glance at Dorcas.
“I think they started without you,” you say.
“Come on,” she replies, grabbing your hand and pulling you into the room.
After a quick stop at the drink table, you head to the group’s usual location, the couches and armchairs by the fire. Marlene jumps up as soon as she sees Dorcas and they melt into each other. You take a seat in an armchair, looking around the room. Thanks to Dorcas dragging you up here a few times, you’re beginning to recognize more of the students not in your year.
“You’re here!” Lily says, spotting you and coming over to lean on your chair.
From the smell of her, she’s had a few drinks already. The party must have started before Dorcas ripped you from your rest on the couch.
“I am,” you say with a smile. “Heard my presence was requested.”
You take a slow sip of your drink. Lily could be quite the talker, especially when she had a few drinks in her to ruin her filter. She slaps a hand onto your thigh.
“Yes! Oh my goodness! You’re the best!” she exclaims. “Pandora’s a bit… loofy? And the boys she’s brought up?” She takes a sip of her own drink and makes a face. “Bad energy. Combined with our boys? Boom. Mess.”
You give her an amused smile and scan where she came from. The Marauders are all talking to each other, but you swear you see James nudge Sirius and look in your direction.
“I can’t imagine Regulus…”
Lily cuts you off. “Sirius’ brother? He’s never come.”
Dorcas leans over to you, Marlene’s arms still very much wrapped around her. “I ask and he always denies.”
You shoot her a look for eavesdropping. Lily’s hand is still on your thigh with a firm grip.
“Marlene,” you say, getting the blonde’s attention, “where’s your cat?”
“Dorm. Too loud!”
You suppress a groan and lean back into your chair. The cat had been part of why you came. If you were going to be in another house’s common room, you wanted, needed something furry to pet you. You clutch your cup with both hands and stare into the drink. Lily mutters something about getting another drink and leaves you to your thoughts. You are certain that Marlene and Dorcas were going to be snogging soon enough, Lily was already well on her way to being drunk and Mary was nowhere to be seen. Everyone you usually spoke with was essentially unavailable. You look over at the boys again. Do you bother seeing if their conversation is tolerable?
You sip on your drink, nursing it for a while. You’re not sure where Lily disappeared to and the lovely couple next to you was snogging, as you had predicted. You find yourself staring at the fire, enjoying how the flames appear to dance to the music playing. It’s enough to make you smile. As you finish your drink, you cast a quick glance toward the boys. Lily had joined them, her arm wrapped around James’ neck and practically falling into his shoulder to keep her balance. You really hope one of the boys has the decency to cut her off, or at least make sure she makes it up to bed at the end of the night.
With a sigh, you set your empty cup on the ground and move to leave the Gryffindor Common Room. Dorcas was still preoccupied with Marlene so you knew she wouldn’t be missing you. It wasn’t like you were deep in conversation with anyone. You were sitting alone by the fire, a lone Slytherin with no real reason to be there. You felt out of place. So you made the logical decision to leave. Pandora or Regulus would still be up and you could keep one of them company. After you close the portrait behind you and you start to walk away, you hear it open and close again.
“Leaving so soon?” Sirius asks.
You shake your head in disbelief, turning around to see him approaching you. You wonder if he had been watching you from the table where he had been sitting. You didn’t want to overthink it or assume anything, but you could’ve sworn you caught him staring at you a few times during class.
“There are better places for me to be right now.”
“Where?”
“I don’t know,” you say with a shrug. “Was gonna go back to my dorm. Doubt Dorcas is missing me.”
“Marls is keeping her company.” Standing next to you now, Sirius throws an arm around your shoulder, causing you to raise your eyebrows at him. “How would you feel about being my chaperone while I get some fresh air, huh? Then you can sod off to wherever after I’m dropped off safe ‘n’ sound right here.”
“What do I get out of it?”
“You won’t have to say you had one measly drink and ditched the party. Sounds pathetic if you ask me.”
“Hmm, too bad no one’s asking, you dog.”
He smiles widely, looking down at you. He was hopeful that you would agree since you hadn’t shrugged his arm off.
“Good thing you’re a dog person then!” he says mirthfully. He steers you in the opposite direction of the Slytherin Dungeon. “Astronomy Tower has the best fresh air.”
“Guess I don’t have a choice in going,” you mutter as you allow yourself to be directed.
“You’re the one not putting up a fight.”
You narrow your eyes at him. “Something tells me you’re into that and I’d be chaperoning you anyways.”
“Something tells me,” he mimics you, “that you wouldn’t let a drunk person…” He stumbles briefly and uses you to stabilize himself. You catch him with a hand on his shoulder and the other on his chest. “Drunk person go to the Astronomy Tower alone,” he finishes.
You both stop walking and look down at your hand on his chest. A faint blush dusts your cheeks as you remove both of your hands, clasping them in front of yourself. Apparently being a good person gets you stuck being people’s babysitter, you think.
Once you reach the last staircase before the top of the Astronomy Tower, Sirius lets go of your shoulder and sprints up the stairs. You roll your eyes as you follow him up at your own pace. You started your evening in the dungeons and now you are going to the highest point of the castle. You were not going to be running. By the time you reach the top, Sirius is already leaning on the railing with a lit cigarette.
“I thought you wanted some fresh air?” you ask, hanging back.
“Air’s the freshest up here,” he says before taking a drag.
“So you decide to pollute it. Got it.”
You cross your arms and lean against the door frame. You didn’t need to be right up next to him to supervise him. You could see how his free hand was gripping his forearm as he leaned over the rail, letting the light breeze blow through his curls. It was moments like this where you saw what just about every girl in Hogwarts saw, the undeniable fact that Sirius was an attractive guy. After almost a minute, Sirius turns around to see where you are.
“What you doing back there? Can’t chaperone very well from there.”
“Can too.”
“But what if,” he says, sliding his legs through the gap between rungs in the railing, “I were to slip?”
Your eyes go wide as his pelvis and torso follow his legs through the gap.
“Shit, shit, shit,” you nearly yell as you sprint toward him, knowing full well that you’d be too late to do anything.
When you reach the railing, he’s laughing as he’s barely hanging onto the bottom rung with both hands. You see he’s also balanced on a ledge that seems to be just his height below the platform.
“You’re a bastard, Black. You know that?” you ask, glaring down at him as your heart pounds in your chest.
“I thought I was a dog,” he replies. “Now help me up, love.”
You hold out your hand and help him climb back up to safety.
“Where’d your cigarette go?”
He laughs again. “You think I can pull that off and hold onto a lit cig? You must think quite highly of me.”
You give him a nasty look, which he just smiles at. He takes out the pack from his pocket and pulls out a fresh one, wasting no time in lighting it. He takes a drag and offers it to you.
“I know you don’t smoke,” he says with cheek.
“Thank you,” you say as you take the cigarette, ignoring his comment.
Now that you were sharing a cigarette with him, you stay at the railing with him. You have to admit to yourself that looking out at the night sky with the light breeze feels nice. Refreshing. Like the cold air had felt from that open window Sirius was smoking at when his friends sent you his way.
Giving you a sideways glance, Sirius asks, “Did you know we have Charms, Potions and Dark Arts together?”
You scrunch your face, not looking at him. “Um, yeah?”
“Really? You knew that?”
“Did you just discover this?” you laugh, making him smile.
“Maybe…” he says almost shyly. “Can’t say I pay attention to everyone in my classes.”
“Hmm, I’m sure you’re paying attention to more important things.”
He hums in agreement. As he leans over the rail, you notice that he’s tapping his knee against one of the lower rungs. Your gut tells you it’s a nervous habit, but you’re not sure what he could be nervous about right now. Maybe he’s concerned a professor will find you up there? That doesn’t seem like it would be enough to set him off. Your punishment would be detention and Sirius wasn’t a stranger to detention.
“So why were you leaving the party?” he asks.
“I was keeping the fireplace company. Parties can be pretty lonely when all your friends are distracted.”
“I could be your distraction,” he says with a smirk.
“Yeah, right,” you say sarcastically, taking the cigarette. After taking a drag, you add, “Even Marlene’s cat wasn’t around. Made sense for me to leave.”
“Thought you were a dog person?”
“Yeah, but that doesn’t mean I can’t like cats. When Hogwarts doesn’t allow dogs except for you, I have to settle for second best.”
“But why settle when the best is right here?”
You turn your head to fully look at him. Was he being serious? Was he flirting with you? You want to laugh at yourself. Of course he was flirting, this is Sirius Black of all people. You take another drag of the cigarette that you still had. After a moment of silence, you hand it back to him.
“I think you’ve had enough fresh air, Black. Let’s get you back.”
You hold out your hand for him to take, but he doesn’t. Instead he throws his arm around your shoulder again. You can tell whatever tipsiness he had coming up here had faded; he’s much more sure in his footsteps. Even his grip on your shoulder feels more sure. As you walk, he pulls out his pack of gum and offers you a piece. You take a piece and pop it into your mouth. The two of you don’t say anything until you reach the portrait. You stop walking a few steps away, causing Sirius’ arm to fall back to his side and him to turn around to look at you with a confused look.
“Aren’t you coming in?”
You raise one of your eyebrows and tilt your head. “Thought you said I could sod off to wherever when I got you back.”
“I mean, yeah, I did,” he says, giving you a half smile and scratching the back of his neck. “Just thought, you know, we were talking and you wouldn’t be keeping the fireplace company. You can hang out with me.”
“Like I said before, Black, your brother is more my speed.”
“Ah, come on, love. Don’t be like that. We can get the room playing a game or something. Spin the bottle, truth or dare, seven min-” he rambles until you put a hand on his shoulder, instantly silencing him.
“Good night, Sirius. Make sure Lily gets to bed okay. She was looking a bit gone earlier.”
Then you turn and head for the dungeons. Your bed was sounding real good right about now. As you walked away, Sirius stared after you. He thought you were leaving because you had no one to talk to you and he had offered a fix to that, so why were you walking away?
---
Regulus is still on the couch where you left him. You pass behind him on your way to your dorm.
“You smell like him again.”
“If he makes a move on me, you’ll be the first one I tell.”

Note: who wouldn't be down bad crying at the gym for reggie?

Though you believed being humble was virtuous, you did pride yourself with being a particularly kind person.
Most people in the castle got over well with you, and you had been able to float in and out of all the major friend groups in your year. The self-declared Marauders often ran to hide with you when chased by a consequence in one form or another, and the Hufflepuff quidditch team seemingly adopted you after you cheered them up after their first loss of the season. With all the pressures of Hogwarts and the lives you were soon to embark on afterwards, it was the least you could do to spread some joy, and perhaps receive a bit in return.
At the end of the day, you always came back to your friend group, though – a heap of entangled limbs and snickering, usually found in the same trusted corner of the Slytherin common room. Barty was always in some way or another physically on top of Evan, rarely conventional cuddling positions, while Pandora sat cross-legged on the floor by them, preferably braiding someone’s hair. Dorcas would sit on the table or lounge chair, waving her arms emphatically, often hitting either you or her girlfriend Marlene – the one Gryffindor you all collectively accepted – square in the face, multiple times throughout the night.
Oh, how you loved them.
And if their cheers every time you returned to them from your little friendship tours, as Barty called them, were anything to go by – they loved you too.
Then, there was Regulus Black.
The victim of whatever positions Evan and Barty felt like sitting in, as he always sat at the other end of the sofa they inhabited. The calm and collected of the bunch, except for when Dorcas or Barty said something particularly outlandish he just had to argue with. The multitasker, always with a book in hand, whether for personal enjoyment or study-related, somehow devouring them while catching every word around him. The wittiest one, well-timed remarks hitting people – usually Barty – square in the chest.
The object of all your desires.
Because while you were a kind person, and arguably well-liked, Regulus was the one person you never managed to get quite close to. You were in the same little circle of friends, sure, and had been having friendly conversation and banter for the past 7 years. In theory, you know each other like the backs of your hands, but in practice you had never been alone in a room with him for more than a few minutes before he runs off.
It hurt you once upon a time, wondering what was wrong with you to make him seemingly be repelled from you like oil from water. Over the years though, you realised that is just kind of how Regulus operates. There is some reason behind all the mechanics, but they are not for others to know, just him to sulk over, and you have to accept what you’re given until he’s ready to offer more. Though you tried not to dwell on the fact that it was only you he seemed to avoid to that extent. You had to leave it to him to figure it out, you had decided.
You could live with that, but distance unfortunately made your heart grow fonder. Painfully so.
Regulus Black with his gorgeous black curls that have been so soft to the touch every time you have been close to it during your late nights around the fireplace. Regulus Black with his flowy white shirts and silver rings, gleaming in the glow of Hogwarts’s many candles. Regulus Black with his stupidly beautiful laugh whenever one of his friends could withdraw a real one from him, as if fished from the depths of his chest. Regulus Black with his striking grey eyes that you could get lost in, and have embarrassingly so, many a time. Regulus Black with his–
“Y/N would you quit pining for just a second and listen to me!” Dorcas’s exasperated voice cut through your musings, as you looked up at her with a non quizzical hum, only causing her to groan louder.
You were laying on your bed, almost ready for the night, while Dorcas apparently had tried to get through to you from her own bed mere metres from yours. Your best friend was sat on her bedside, hands on her knees as she looked just about ready to tackle you. Lovingly, of course.
“How’d you know I was even thinking about that?” you challenge, but there is no real fight in you as Dorcas’s gaze has already levelled you.
“You think about much else?”
“Rude.”
“Ruder to call him ‘that’. Put some respect on Reggie’s name.” You rolled your eyes, and had to fight the urge to shush her.
“Oh, don’t worry, he can’t hear us all the way from the boys’ dormitories.” 7 years of friendship had taught her almost too much about you.
“Would you stop trying to read my mind?” You climbed over in her bed to give her the attention she so craved. “It’s a bit intense.”
Dorcas flopped down on her back, sighing at nothing in particular. “You love that I know you so well. And someone ought to read your mind, if you’re not going to speak it.”
“Maybe some things are better left unsaid,” you teased her, but she kept giving you a narrow stare.
“I simply refuse to believe that.”
“Hey, where’s Marls?” you ask, not necessarily because you missed the blonde and pink haired menace you had come to view as a sister. Mostly just to shift the topic at hand. “Wasn't she supposed to stay the night?”
“Yeah, but she’s running an errand for me.”
“An errand?” You quirked a brow at her, looking over at a clock you kept by your bedside. “12 minutes before curfew?”
“Yes,” Dorcas said, giving you a duh look. Stupid you.
As if on cue, Marlene all but kicked down your door with a grin plastered on her face. “How ya doin’ ladies? I brought friends.” In behind her came Pandora and Lily, smiling a bit more softly, though there was a mischievous glint in Lily’s eyes that could only be a poor habit picked up from a certain Gryffindor bunch.
You gave enthusiastic greetings in return, happy to see your friends, but your brow still furrowed at the unexpected guests. A quick glance at Dorcas, whose lips curled into a grin so innocent that it immediately raised suspicions, only deepened your confusion.
“What’s this about?” you asked, voice laced with curiosity but also a growing sense of foreboding. A roomful of your closest friends this late at night – this had all the hallmarks of an ambush.
“Oh, nothing,” Dorcas said, too casually. She was still sprawled on her back, her eyes half-closed, but you didn’t miss the smirk playing on her lips. “We just thought it would be super fun to have a little... chat.”
Pandora was already situated on the floor right in front of you, humming some unfamiliar tune as she twisted her locs absentmindedly, while Lily leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed, a knowing smile dancing across her face. Marlene, never one for subtlety, was practically bouncing on the spot, barely containing her excitement.
“A chat?” You narrowed your eyes at them, already sensing that you were the centre of whatever this was. “That everyone knows about beforehand except me? I think that's called an intervention.”
Marlene’s grin widened. “You’re smarter than you look.”
“Hey!” You threw a pillow at her, which she easily dodged, cackling. “Okay, seriously girls. What’s going on?”
Lily stepped forward, eyes twinkling with mischief. “We’ve been talking. Well, more like observing.”
“Observing what exactly?” you asked, a sinking feeling creeping into your stomach. You knew these girls, and you knew when they were up to something.
“More like observing who,” Marlene interjected with a wink, as she casually threw herself onto Dorcas’s bed beside you, almost kicking her girlfriend in the face.
Pandora hummed softly, eyes now trained on her chipping purple nailpolish. “It’s just… you’ve been staring at Regulus like a lovesick puppy for years, and he’s been acting all distant and broody in response. Now that we're in our final year, the harmony should be set right before we all leave.”
You sat up straighter. “I have not–”
“Oh, come off it, Y/N.” Dorcas finally sat up, folding her legs beneath her. “You practically melt every time he so much as glances your way, and we’ve all seen the way you fawn over his hair like it’s spun silk. It’s borderline painful.”
Your face flushed, but you tried to play it off with a wave of your hand. “I don’t fawn.”
“You do,” Lily said, with the smallest hint of a smirk. “And Regulus? Merlin, that boy has been pining for you for too long. If you're a lovesick puppy, he's a kicked street dog.”
Your heart stumbled in your chest. “Wait– what?”
Marlene clapped her hands together in delight, as if she had been waiting for this exact moment. “Oh, darling, it’s so obvious. He’s completely smitten. Why do you think he’s always avoiding you? The boy’s terrified he’ll do something stupid like… I don’t know, confess his undying love for you in front of everyone.”
You blinked, completely taken aback. You expected them to give you a get it together speech, not... whatever this is.
“But– but, what, no, he’s always so cold around me. I thought–”
“That’s because he’s a socially inept idiot when it comes to feelings,” Dorcas interjected with a shrug, never one to sugarcoat it, though her voice softened when she took in your confused face. “Look, Regulus has spent his whole life trying to remain in control, but when he's around you he can't. So, if he can’t figure out how to act, he just… doesn’t.”
Lily nodded. “He’s not used to wanting something as much as he wants you.”
"Oh, he would not be happy knowing you're psychoanalysing him like this," you mumbled, mind whirling, to which Marlene and Dorcas just cackled.
Humour at the expense of their friend – what could be better?
You struggled to process this new information. You had left your relationship with Regulus to fate, an open invitation for friendship without pursuing anything more than that. As long as you could admire him from afar, you figured it was enough. The thought that he might have felt the same, but not know how to go about it felt foreign to you. It seemed impossible, and yet, when you thought back, the signs were there. The way his eyes lingered on you just a bit too long when he thought you weren't looking. The way his laughter – rare and beautiful – sounded a little softer, a little more genuine, when you were around. The way he physically ran away from you when you got too close, always some handy excuse ready...
You had chalked it up to his aloofness, to his enigmatic nature. A large part of you, fragile and uncertain, still wanted to.
“I don’t know…” you started, still hesitant. “What if you’re wrong?”
Pandora smiled softly at you, her eyes gentle but firm. “We’re not wrong, Y/N. The stars told me as much. But if your heart needs proof, we’re going to help you get it.”
Your gaze snapped to her, as blood rushed through your head. “Help me… how?”
“That’s the best part!” Marlene all but squealed, bouncing up from the bed and throwing her arm around you. “We’re going to play matchmaker!”
You stared at them, wide-eyed. “What? No! You’re not– no meddling! You’ll make things worse.”
Dorcas just gave you a knowing look, leaning back on her hands. “How can we make things worse if there is nothing at fuck all going on between you right now because you can't get your heads out of your asses?"
"We're friends, Dorcas!"
She sighed, as if you were a child, but gave you a soft look. You think she was trying to be reassuring. "We’re not going to make things worse. We’re going to force you two to face each other, and maybe then you’ll finally stop dancing around your feelings.”
“I don’t–”
“Too late, darling,” Marlene interrupted, her grin wicked. “Plans are already in motion.”
Lily smirked. “We’ve got it all figured out.”
You were about to protest again when Pandora placed a soft hand on your shoulder. “Trust us,” she said, her voice a soothing balm against the rising anxiety in your chest. “This is going to work.”
You sighed, rubbing your temples. There was no stopping them, you knew that much. Once this group had an idea in their heads, there was no turning back. Still, the thought of whatever they had planned made your stomach twist in both excitement and dread.
Marlene clapped her hands together once more. “Right, first things first. Tomorrow, we’re going to get you two alone.”
“And then what?”
Dorcas’s grin widened. “Then, you’re going to talk to him.”
"Talk?" you repeated, your voice squeaking slightly.
"Yep," Lily said with a satisfied nod. "Just talk."
"That's the worst plan I've ever heard in my life. Scratch that, not even really a plan. Just the worst I've ever heard."
"You're lashing out 'cause you're scared." Marlene said in a fake-hurt voice, wiping invisible tears from her eyes as Dorcas shoved her.
You swallowed hard, your mind spinning with a hundred different emotions.
“Don’t worry, love," Lily almost cooed at you. "We’ll make sure everything goes perfectly.”
"How?"
"We'll see where the day takes us."
Your eyes flitted between the four of them, realising then that there was no getting out of this, and that you were not sure any of you even knew what this was yet.
You let out a groan as you flopped ceremoniously down on the bed, hiding your face in your eyes.
All girls cheered as they knew that was your sound of defeat, and thus their green flag to go crazy.
The next day, your nerves were buzzing like a poorly-executed Cheering Charm gone wrong. The plan – their plan – was apparently in full swing, and you had absolutely no control over it. In fact, your only plan was to somehow avoid being alone with Regulus Black at all costs.
Despite Dorcas's little lecture to you this morning about just ripping the fucking bandaid off love, gosh, you were entirely not on board anymore. Not that you ever were.
You had tried pleading with them again at breakfast, but they had brushed you off with reassuring pats and sly grins, as if your rising panic was nothing but a trivial detail. And so, here you were, pacing in the common room while the rest of the girls casually lounged, casting side glances at you and whispering like they weren’t blatantly scheming.
“Stop fussing, would you,” Marlene drawled, draped across one of the armchairs, looking far too pleased with herself. “We’ve got it all handled.”
“You’ve got nothing handled,” you hissed, feeling the dread creep up your spine. “You’re going to ruin everything. I mean, what if he freaks out? Or worse – what if he laughs at me?”
Lily, who was lounging with a book in her lap, raised an eyebrow over the top of it. “Y/N, Regulus Black doesn’t laugh at anything that isn’t Junior falling down the stairs. You’ll be fine.”
“Yeah, and even if he does freak out,” Dorcas added, casually tossing an apple in the air, “it’s because he’s an emotionally stunted mess, not because he doesn’t like you.”
Your face burned. “That’s not exactly comforting.”
“Trust us, Y/N. We wouldn’t be doing this if we weren’t sure," Marlene groans. "He likes you, okay? He’s just too much of a brooding, melodramatic git to do anything about it.”
You opened your mouth to protest again, but before you could, Pandora, ever the quiet voice of reason, gave you a soft smile. “It’ll be okay. Just be honest. You might be surprised by what he says.”
For half a second you dwelled on the fact that Pandora was the one everyone went to as their little therapist, and maybe her reassurance is not just speculation, as with the other girls.
You didn't allow that second to drag out, lest your head explode.
The sincerity in her voice almost made you believe them, though. Yet the idea of being locked in a room with Regulus, of all people, and forced to confront the swirling mess of emotions you had been harbouring for years? That was terrifying.
“I don’t know,” you said, backing toward the door in a desperate attempt to flee. “Maybe we should just–"
Dorcas was quicker than she looked. She slid in front of the exit, blocking your escape route with a triumphant grin. “Nope. You’re staying put.”
Before you could make a break for it, Marlene hopped to her feet, suddenly all business. “Right. It’s time. Pandora, Lily, you ready?”
“Ready,” they both said in unison, as if this were a Quidditch match and not the absolute destruction of your sanity.
“Wait– what’s happening?” you asked, voice rising with panic.
“We’re just going to have a little chat with Regulus,” Lily said with a wink, standing up and smoothing her skirt. “Should only take a minute.”
You watched in horror as the three of them sauntered out of the common room, leaving you in a state of rising dread. Dorcas remained blocking the door, arms crossed and a gleam of determination in her eyes.
“You don’t have to do this,” you said, trying one last desperate appeal to her better nature.
“Oh, I really think I do,” she replied with a grin. “Now, be a good sport. You’ll thank me later.”
Dorcas with her quidditch strength, picked you up and carried you to your dormitory despite your many loud protests. She practically shoved you inside, landing awkwardly on the floor, heart pounding in your chest.
“Just… read something and try to relax,” Dorcas called over her shoulder, slamming the door shut behind you. “We’ll handle everything.”
“Dorcas!” you yelped, but she was already gone.
You groaned, pushing yourself up off the floor and onto one of the beds, grabbing a random book from the bedside table in a futile attempt to calm your racing thoughts. It didn’t help.
Not even five minutes later, you heard the faint sound of footsteps outside the door, accompanied by hushed whispers that made your stomach drop.
“Marlene, what are you up to?” you muttered to yourself, sinking lower into the bed. You barely had time to brace yourself before Marlene’s voice echoed from the hallway, far too chipper for the situation.
“Oh, Reggie!” she called out in a sing-song voice that was dripping with false innocence. "I think I saw the creature run in here!"
Your heart immediately stuttered in your chest. No, no, no–
“In behind this... closed door?” came Regulus’s unmistakable voice, low and suspicious. There was always something about his tone, that subtle roughness to his otherwise smooth words, that made the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.
“Ugh, yes, please go fetch it,” Lily chimed in, her tone too casual to be convincing.
There was a beat of silence, and you could practically feel Regulus’s confusion through the door. “In the girls’s dormitory?” His voice was flat, unimpressed. "Can't you guys?"
"No, you're the one who got an Outstanding in Care of Magical Creatures. Please."
They couldn't be serious. What a master plan.
“It's important, Reg,” Pandora added, ever so softly, but with an edge of persistence that could sway anyone who wasn’t keen on questioning her.
There was another pause, and you held your breath. You could picture Regulus now – his sharp, silver eyes narrowing, a flicker of doubt crossing his face, his brain probably piecing together that whatever this was, it wasn’t something he should agree to. Not even Regulus is immune to charm and coercion from his friends though –and he probably couldn’t fathom the idea of Marlene calling for his help if it weren’t truly necessary – and you clearly heard his reluctant sigh through the door.
“Fine,” he muttered, footsteps nearing the door.
You had just enough time to consider how humiliating it would be to try and throw yourself out the window, but alas, Hogwarts windows didn’t accommodate such escapes.
The door creaked open, and there he was.
Standing in the doorway, looking like the very embodiment of a storm in human form, all brooding energy and understated elegance. His black curls were slightly dishevelled, his usual pristine appearance marred just enough by the casual looseness of his shirt collar, which somehow made him look even more effortlessly intimidating.
He looked around the room, eyes landing on you and widening slightly.
"Oh, hey Y/N, have you seen–"
Before you could answer or before he could even finish his sentence – slam. The door shut behind him with a loud click, the lock snapping into place.
Regulus’s head whipped around, his hand immediately going to the doorknob, shaking it lightly. “What the bloody hell?”
You watched in horror as the unmistakable sounds of footsteps retreated down the hallway, followed by Marlene’s faint, gleeful laughter.
“I’ll kill her,” you whispered, more to yourself than anyone.
Regulus sighed deeply, his hand dropping from the door. He turned back to you, jaw tight, a muscle twitching at the corner of his mouth. "That makes two of us," he said, having clearly heard you across the room that felt increasingly smaller.
You laughed lowly, but couldn't quite meet his eyes.
“So… I’m assuming this beast was part of some master plan.”
You nodded, feeling your face heat up. “Yeah, pretty much.”
There was a heavy silence between you, the kind that felt both unbearably awkward and strangely charged. Regulus stayed by the door, leaning against it as though contemplating whether he could somehow break through it with sheer willpower. You, meanwhile, sat on the bed with your heart pounding in your chest like it was trying to escape the mess your friends had created.
Regulus’s eyes flicked to you, his expression guarded but curious. “You don’t… know what this is about, do you?”
You tried to swallow past the sudden lump in your throat, your fingers gripping the edge of the book like it might anchor you to reality. “I have a guess.”
He raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms over his chest in that way that made him look even more imposing. “And?”
“And,” you echoed, your voice faltering under the weight of what you were about to say, “they seem to think that locking us in a room together is the perfect opportunity for us to, uh… talk.”
Regulus let out a humourless chuckle, shaking his head as he leaned his back fully against the door. “Talk. Of course. That sounds exactly like something Marlene would come up with.”
There was a pause, and his gaze, which had flickered away momentarily, settled on you again. You could swear his eyes softened ever so slightly as they swept over you – taking in the awkward way you sat on the bed, your hands still gripping the book like it was a lifeline. You noticed the way his shoulders, usually squared with tension, seemed to relax just a fraction, as though being here, with you, wasn’t as unbearable as you had feared.
He cleared his throat, clearly struggling to find something to say. “So… what were you reading?”
“Oh, uh…” You squinted at the title, stifling a laughter as you realised what it was. “It’s, um… Hogwarts, A History.”
Regulus’s lips twitched, amusement flickering in his eyes. “Really? You’re reading that?”
Your face heated even more, and you quickly abandoned the book, tossing it to the side. “Okay, no. I was trying to look busy while panicking over the fact that I was about to be locked in a room with you.”
"You knew?"
"I got a small warning after I was thrown in here."
"By Dorcas or Marlene?" he asked, amusement gleaming in his eyes because he knew you meant it literally.
"Dorcas."
He hummed in approval before his brows furrowed, as if registering your whole conversation, and he took a step closer, his usual guarded exterior slipping just a bit. “Why would that make you panic?”
The one question you didn’t have a safe answer for. You could feel your heart racing again, but there was something about the way he looked at you, something soft and searching in his gaze, that made it impossible to retreat.
You swallowed hard. “Because… I don't know. You’re Regulus Black.”
The words came out in a rush, like they explained everything, and to you, they did. Regulus, though, just stared at you, his expression unreadable.
“I don’t understand,” he said quietly, his voice low but noticeably not cold. “Why would my family matter?”
You laughed nervously, standing up from the bed as if that might help calm the chaotic swirl of emotions in your chest. “Not your family. You. Regulus. You’re just... you. You’re smart and brilliant and intimidatingly beautiful and–” You stopped yourself, suddenly horrified by the direction your rant was going. “And it just didn’t seem like you’d ever want to be stuck in a room with me.”
Regulus blinked, his posture stiffening as if your words had physically hit him. For a moment, the usual cool facade he wore cracked, revealing something vulnerable beneath.
“You think I don’t want to be around you?” His voice was barely above a whisper, but there was an edge of disbelief in it.
You looked away, unable to bear the intensity of his gaze. “I mean, yeah. You always seem so distant when I’m around. Like you can’t wait to get away.”
Regulus was silent for a moment, the air between you growing thick with tension. When he finally spoke, his voice was softer, quieter. “That’s not because I don’t want to be around you.”
You lifted your eyes to meet his, surprised by the raw honesty in his voice.
He stepped closer, his movements slower, more deliberate, like he was unsure of what he was doing for the first time in his life. “I… avoid you because I don’t know how to be around you without making a fool of myself.”
You blinked, completely thrown by his confession. “What?”
Regulus exhaled a shaky breath, running a hand through his hair, clearly frustrated with himself. “I’m not good at this – at feelings. At talking, like the girls wanted. You make me feel things I don’t know how to handle. So, I do the only thing I know how to do. I keep my distance.”
Your heart thudded in your chest, a mix of disbelief and hope rising in your throat. “Regulus…”
He met your gaze, and for the first time in the years you had known him, you felt as if you actually saw him in his eyes. The real him.
“I’ve liked you for longer than I care to admit,” he said, his voice low and steady now. “And it scares the hell out of me.”
You felt your breath catch, his words sinking into your chest and settling there, warm and heavy. It was as if the entire world had shifted in that moment, the tension between you now a living, breathing thing, pulsing with the weight of everything left unsaid.
"L– liked me?"
Regulus couldn't do anything but nod.
Without thinking, you closed the distance between you, stepping closer until you were just a breath away from him. You could see the way his chest rose and fell, his eyes flickering down to your lips for the briefest second before he caught himself, jaw tightening.
“Regulus,” you whispered, the world narrowing to just the space between you. “I’ve liked you too. For so long.”
His breath hitched ever so slightly, eyes wild.
He didn’t respond with words – he didn’t have to. In one swift motion, he closed the remaining gap between you, his hands gently cupping your face as he leaned in and pressed his lips to yours.
The kiss was tentative, as if both of you were still testing the waters of something too fragile to fully comprehend. Regulus’s hands, cool but steady, cradled your face with a gentleness that sent shivers down your spine. The rest of the world faded away – your racing thoughts, your anxieties, the locked door behind you – none of it mattered in that moment.
It was just him. It had always been him.
As the kiss deepened, Regulus’s usual restraint seemed to dissolve, replaced by something raw and urgent. His fingers curled against your skin, one hand suddenly on the small of your back, drawing you closer until there was barely any space left between you. You felt his heart beating against your chest, fast and unsteady, matching the erratic rhythm of your own.
It was everything you had imagined, everything you needed.
You melted into him, lips, body and soul, before you pulled away breathless. The room felt impossibly still around you.
You were both standing there, eyes wide, inches apart, as if neither of you could quite believe what had just happened. Regulus’s lips were still parted, his gaze flickering from your eyes to your lips and back again, as though he was trying to memorise everything about this moment.
"Do you mean it?" he murmured. You felt his lips brush yours as he spoke.
You didn't need to ask what he meant. Instead you whispered a passionate yes before kissing him again, lingering against him. You could feel him begin to smile against you.
"This is not what I expected to come out of this," you whispered, your voice shaky but filled with a quiet, disbelieving laugh.
Regulus let out a breathless chuckle, one that sounded almost surprised, like he couldn’t quite believe it either. “I can't say I did either.” He paused, his thumb brushing lightly against your cheek. “But I’m not complaining.”
You smiled, warmth flooding your chest, and for the first time in what felt like forever, there was no uncertainty hanging between you. Just you and Regulus, and the quiet realisation that maybe, just maybe, all those years of longing and misunderstanding had led you exactly where you were meant to be.
You were about to say something – something witty, maybe, to break the tension – but then–
BANG!
The door flew open, slamming against the wall with such force that both you and Regulus jumped apart, your heads whipping toward the entrance just in time to see Marlene, Lily, Dorcas, and Pandora tumble inside, practically tripping over each other in their mad dash to get through the door.
“There they are!” Marlene shouted, grinning like the Cheshire Cat. She pointed dramatically at the two of you, looking like she had just witnessed the Quidditch World Cup. “I told you it would work!”
Lily snorted, pushing past Marlene and raising an eyebrow as she glanced between you and Regulus, both still slightly dishevelled and very much caught in the act. “Honestly, Marlene, you could have given them a few more minutes.”
You groaned, heat rushing to your face as you buried it in your hands. “Were you all just waiting outside the entire time?”
Pandora gave you an apologetic smile, but there was a mischievous twinkle in her eyes. It made her look all the more like Evan. “We were just… keeping an eye on things.”
Regulus, who had taken a deliberate step back when the door burst open, gravitated slightly more towards you again as he ran a hand through his hair. “I can’t believe you lot talked me into this.” For all intents and purposes he looked exasperated – but his lips twitched in amusement.
“Oh, don’t act like you hated it,” Dorcas teased. “You’re welcome for the facilitation by the way.”
“Facilitation?” Regulus repeated, his voice dry as he glanced around the room full of over-enthusiastic matchmakers. “That’s one word for it.”
Marlene was practically bouncing on the balls of her feet. “I have no words for how pleased I am with myself right now.”
"Evidently." You and Dorcas chorused at the same time, causing you both to giggle, though you tried to stifle it.
“You’re all completely insufferable," you said through an ever-growing smile.
“And yet,” Marlene drawled, throwing an arm around Dorcas’s shoulders, “you love us anyway.”
Regulus caught your eye, and despite the absurdity of the situation and the embarrassment of being ambushed by your meddlesome friends, you couldn’t help but laugh. His lips quirked up in that rare, almost-hidden smile he reserved for moments like this.
“Alright, alright,” Lily said, clapping her hands together as if trying to herd a group of first-years. “Now that this mission is accomplished –” she shot a pointed look at you and Regulus, “– we should probably leave them alone.”
Marlene looked like she was about to protest, but Pandora nudged her toward the door. “Give them some space.”
As they filed out, Marlene shot you one last wink over her shoulder. “Don’t worry, I expect all the juicy details later.”
You groaned again, shaking your head as they finally disappeared down the hallway, their laughter echoing faintly behind them. When the door closed with a soft thud, the room seemed impossibly quiet again, save for the soft crackle of the fire in the corner.
You turned back to Regulus, who was watching you with a look that was both amused and affectionate, his usual mask of indifference nowhere to be found. He stepped closer to you, arms circling around your waist.
"Your friends are idiots," he said with no real malice in his tone.
"Yeah, but so are we."
In privacy with you, Regulus's smile widened in a way that made your stomach flip, as he leaned in for another kiss.

Marauders Era Boys - Sharing a bed for the first time
Characters: Severus Snape, James Potter, Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, Barry Crouch Jr & Regulus Black
Remus Lupin:
He is very nervous
He is constantly making sure that you are comfortable
Remus would definitely read to you
He would be surprised when you cuddle up to him, but he would quickly relax because it feels so natural
He wraps his arm around your shoulders as you rest your head on his chest
He places soft kisses on top of your head as he continues to read to you until he feels you fall asleep
Once he notices your breathing has changed and that you’re asleep, he will put his book down, turn the light off and fall asleep with a smile on his face
If he wakes up in the night from a bad dream you are quick to soothe him and help him get back to sleel
James Potter:
He teases you about how lucky you are to be sharing a bed with him
He is so arrogant about the situation it makes you roll your eyes and laugh at him
He tells you that if you find the pillows uncomfortable you can rest your head on his chest and he will be your pillow whilst winking at you
He wraps his arms around you pretty much straight away, saying he’s just cutting to the chase because he knows you won’t be able to resist cuddling up to him
Sirius Black:
He is confident but a little nervous too.
He is flirting with you the whole time, but he’s also worried about offending you and having you kick him out of the bed
He’d flop down on the bed and pat the space next to him where his arm is already outstretched hoping you will crawl straight into his arms
When you snuggle your head into his chest he would tense up a little not used to the affection
But he is quick to relax again
Severus Snape:
He is very hesitant about the situation
Severus will stick to his side of the bed not wanting to disrespect you in anyway by being too close to you
He would apologise profusely if his hand accidentally brushes against yours
He does his best to make sure you’re comfortable.
He even offers to sleep on the floor if it would make you more comfortable
When you shift closer to him he freezes unsure of what to do, but he relaxes when you tell him it’s ok
He is surprised to wake up in the morning to find you curled up against him your head resting on his shoulder. He doesn’t want to move because he doesn’t to risk waking you up so he stays completely still just watching you with a small smile on his face
Barty Crouch Jr:
He is so cocky about the situation
He completely loves that you have to share a bed with him
He fidgets a lot, and even nudges you playfully
He might suggest playing a game of truth or dare.
If you choose dare, he 100% dares you to kiss him
He casually drapes an arm around your shoulder and says if you get cold just snuggle into me and then winks at you
He would try and keep you awake as long as possible because he doesn’t get to sleep very quickly. Nudging you or tickling you if he notices you drifting off
He steals the blanket on purpose so that you’ll have to snuggle up to him to get warm
In the morning he will genuinely apologise if he was too much of a dick by keeping you up
Regulus Black:
He makes sure you’ve got enough space
And makes sure that you’re comfortable
He would be a bit hesitant to get too close to you. Not because he doesn’t want to but he doesn’t want to be too presumptuous or disrespect you in anyway
If you inch closer he tenses up a bit but then quickly relaxes because he knows you’re in control of the situation
He opens up to you about his family
Regulus might find himself unintentionally reaching for your hand or playing with your hair, when he realises what he was doing he would apologise and quickly pull away. When you tell him it’s ok he might slowly reach for your hand again
He always makes sure that you have enough of the blanket covering you he doesn’t want you getting cold
He smiles when you rest your head on his chest. He’s not used to being this close with someone but it feels so natural that he doesn’t question it

Dear Future Husband {Blurb}
Barty Crouch Jr. x Reader
Wc: 2895
Cw: Cussing, use of {Y/N}, Barty could be seen as pushy, minor argument, Jegulily agenda
The sound of heels against the cobbled floor of the outside halls of Hogwarts seemed to set a tone for conversation. You, Lily, Mary, Dorcas, and Marlene were walking through the empty halls, everyone taking jabs at the poor redhead who just had to endure James Potter making an absolute fool of himself for her.
None of you could bring yourselves to feel bad for her, finding out she had both James Potter and Regulus Black wrapped around her pale finger. Still, she remained steadfast to say she felt nothing for them, a horrible lie. One you tried to keep quiet about after finding Lily openly kissing the youngest Black in the library.
It's a marvel James hadn't caught on to their game yet.
“I'm just saying, if I ever get on the tables to profess my love to someone and she walks out?” I think I'm ending my life right then and there.” Marlene cheeked and looked around the group to look at the still very flustered Lily.
Dorcas was walking beside Marlene, giving her a sideways glance from where she was hugging her arm, slipping her dark hand into Marlene’s pocket to interlock their fingers with a teasing smirk.
“It's so romantic!” Mary practically purred from the other side of Lily, you gave a laugh.
“What is with everyone being so enraptured by his stupidity?” Lily scoffed, trying to hide her smile.
Marlene shrugged, tilting her head slightly as she regarded Lily- scandalized, with a smirk that reached her eyes. “Maybe it’s the way he trips over his own feet just to get your attention. It’s charming in a sort of disastrous way, don’t you think?”
“Charming?” Lily rolled her eyes, but the hint of a smile tugged at her lips. “More like embarrassing. He’s constantly making a fool of himself- it's like he thrives on it.”
“I have to agree.” You pipe up. “I'm certain if he didn't have you to pine over; whatever else he'd channel that energy into would surely kill him.”
“I second that.” Dorcas chimed in, her voice light and playful. “You'll kill the poor boy, Lily.”
“Oh ho ho! I know you aren't speaking on this, {Y/N}!” Mary challenged, hugging Lily's arm and shooting a look at you as you all settled to the grass. “Where is your own heart being taken? Last I checked, you were the one hiding behind the stacks in the library. Away with a certain RavenClaw.”
You face fell the second all eyes shot to you. Okay, maybe what you were doing to Lily was cruel.
Quickly, you corrected your expression and scoffed. “Come off it! I was just trying to find a quiet place to study! He insisted on looking over my notes.”
“Away to hear his constant declarations of love?” Marlene prodded playfully as she laid her head on Dorcas’s lap, you gave a huff and looked away in a fluster.
“Or to eat some of those muggle chocolates?” Mary prodded, smirking at your face changing color. Lily gasped, like the idea of you eating your muggle delights without her was sin.
“Or perhaps she fancy’s his more forward approach?” Dorcas sighed airily and Lily gave a roll of her eyes.
You buried your face in your hands, groaning in dramaticized despair. Marlene prodded Dorcas in the shoulder and she looked down at her curiously.
“Hey, lovely, how many times has Barty brought up {Y/N} today?” She smirked and you groaned even louder and aggressively began to shuffle around your papers and books out to properly study.
“I'm not listening!”
“I think he said he was going to ask her to Hogsmeade again at the game. Once he wins, of course.” She faked indifference to the memory as she tapped her chin. You groaned.
“For once I'm rooting for James. May his broom be quick and the snitch magnetic.” You huffed and Marlene laughed. Glancing just past you before her smirk doubled in size.
“Speaking of your little lover boy. I think he's started it up with Sirius again.” Marlene cooed and your face dropped. Turning sharply to see just that.
Regulus Black and Evan Rosier, standing at the entrance of the courtyard watching as Barty butted heads against Sirius Black, who was practically fuming at his taunting.
You threw your head back and rubbed your temple while Mary gave a giggle.
“Well, {Y/N}. Seems your dog needs wrangling.” Mary mocked in a terribly done southern American accent. Laying back on the grass as if to show her complete lack of help.
“Do I have to?” You mumbled.
“If you don't want him getting detention.” Dorcas mused and gestured back. Now, it seemed Barty had tossed off his robe and rolled up his sleeves. James had his arms locked under Sirius’s arms, keeping the fuming boy back. You took a deep breath and tried not to admire Barty’s pale inked forearms.
You huffed and began to pack up your things before you stood up, leaving the circle of giggles behind you as you crossed the field.
The sun gave you a warm glow of a backdrop, like a halo, Barty thought. He wasn't the only one, as Remus and James watched you walk over to Barty’s discarded robe and picked it up. James giving a dramatic sigh of relief and Remus smiling softly at you.
“Bartemius.” You called over.
The tension in the air between Barty and Sirius was palpable from yards away, but the second you greeted him, Barty turned practically dog-like. You could hear the murmurs of the other students as they began to disperse from their weekend entertainment. It wasn't the first time you had ruined their fun as the residential dragon tamer.
You walked past him, carrying his robe, and Barty gave a scoff. Smiling at Sirius’s scowl as he flipped him off with both hands, walking backwards to were you wandered off. His tongue sticking out of his crooked grin, showing off his butchered tongue piercing.
He turned sharply on his heels and ran after you, ignoring Sirius’s taunts as he peered over your shoulder, his chest brushing against your arm as you walked.
You both walked down the hall in relative silence. You could tell it was bothering him, having to be quiet for once. His fingers interlocked behind his head and leaned half back midwalk. Hurrying to correct his posture as Professor Slughorn walked past.
You walked to the library, setting yourself up in the far back. You unpacked your bag and set his robe on the table.
He didn't bother to grab it, instead, he crossed his arms and leaned his head on the table, watching as you set yourself up to study. You ignored him for the most part, allowing him to stare at you, it wasn't like he didn't spend every other hour of the day doing so-
Then, he gave a huff and a sigh. Like he was trying to get your attention. Again, you ignored it, and he just did it again. Making you sigh and close your book, setting it aside and looking him in the eyes. “Crouch?”
“Barty.” He corrected, as he always did when you addressed him as anything other then his first name. You arched your brow at him and his confident smile faded a bit. You slowly relaxed and sat up, crossing your arms.
“So…” You trailed off. “What did Sirius say that made you so mad this go around?” You mumbled.
He gave a nonchalant shrug and rubbed the back of his neck. “Nothing, just said something that needed correcting.” He nodded as if agreeing with himself for making the right move, looking at you as if he expected praise for his idiocy.
You raised an eyebrow, skeptical. “Nothing? You were about to duel him in the middle of the courtyard, Barty. I highly doubt it was just a friendly chat about the weather.”
He gave a low groan and his smile slipped away completely. “He was being an shit, talking about the girls he could swoon. Bragging to the other assholes-”
“Some of those assholes are my friends-”
“How they ever got that lucky infuriates me.” He growled and you glared at him.
“Crouch-” You warned.
“Barty.” He corrected without losing flow of his story. “Made some comments about birds. Then he had the audacity to bring you up. I had to remind him that no one will ever be worth your time, let alone Sirius Black-”
You felt a flush of warmth spread across your cheeks at his words, but you quickly masked it with a frown. “You didn’t have to get into a fight over me, Barty. You know I can handle myself.”
He leaned in closer, his expression earnest. “I know you can, but you shouldn't have to, star. I don’t like the way he talks about you, like you’re some trophy to be won. You deserve better than that.”
“Better than what, exactly? A bit of banter and teasing among friends?” You sighed, crossing your arms defensively. “It’s just Sirius being Sirius.”
But Barty shook his head, more determined. “So I had to remind him that you're light years better then him. That you're my girl-”
“I am not-”
“Not yet.” He soothed out in a softer tone before going back on his tangent. “And he said that if he wasn't worth your time then I certainly wasn't.”
You gave a weak huff. “Is that all?” You asked in a bland tone, rubbing your temple.
“Regardless.” You finally spoke up again. “Don't start fights in the halls, Barty. You should know not to do that.”
Barty tilted his head, considering your words for a moment before he leaned back in his chair, a playful grin returning to his face. “You know, it's my responsibility.”
You let out an exasperated sigh, but the corners of your mouth betrayed you with a hint of a smile. “And why is that, Crouch?”
“Well, you're my future wife, can't let him disrespect you.” You gave a small laugh and rolled your eyes.
Barty had made a habit of declaring his love in… unconventional ways.
It started in year two, he made a big stink about his father and his bloodstatus. He found the first muggle born closest to him, unfortunately you, and proposed marriage.
Now, younger you was mortified. It's not every day you're sitting at the Gryffindor tables eating lunch and suddenly a rather cute RavenClaw boy asks for your hand in marriage. Now, knowing Barty better, you could admire the absolute ridiculousness of it all.
You refused flat out, and he was shocked- as if it was that simple.
Though, you'd never let him know about the growing fondness. He's got a big enough head already.
You leaned back in your chair, crossing your arms and giving him a playful glare. The creak of the old wooden chair seemed to punctuate your previous statements. “You think you can just declare it and it becomes true? Maybe I want to marry someone who doesn’t start fights in the hallways.”
Barty feigned shock, placing a hand dramatically over his heart. “Oh, but darling you would never be so boring.”
You narrowed your eyes at him, trying to suppress the smile threatening to break free again. He seemed to be just loving it, the subtle tells that you enjoyed his presence after years of your fake hatred. “Boring? I’d say you’re the one who thrives on the more ludicrous things in life.”
“Absurdity is just excitement in disguise.” He mused, his expression serious for a moment before it broke into a grin. “Besides, who says I can’t be both exciting and devoted?”
You shook your head, pretending to be annoyed, but deep down you couldn’t help but feel a flutter of warmth at his words. “And what’s that supposed to mean?”
He leaned closer, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. “It means that when I’m in charge, I get to choose who I spend my time with. And I choose you.”
Your heart skipped a beat as you met his gaze. Your cheeks flushed much to your own dismay. “Barty, you’re impossible.”
“Impossible to resist?” He cheeked, raising an eyebrow.
You rolled your eyes, but the smile on your lips betrayed you. Trying to lift your hand to cover it he gave an audible sound of displeasure. Just as you were about to retort, he suddenly straightened up, a serious look crossing his face.
“How many times must you make me beg?”
You blinked, taken aback by the sudden shift in his demeanor. “Beg? What on earth are you talking about?” You knew you were blushing, but fought against the embarrassment creeping up your neck.
His expression turned earnest as he leaned closer, his eyes locking onto yours. “I’m talking about asking you to marry me.” He concluded as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“Just marry me and no other men would dare even look your way, I can guarantee that.” He pushed like it was the most normal thing in the world.
“Barty, this is starting to not be funny-”
“It was never a joke.” He assured, expression so serious you lost the words in your throat.
“You're 16.” You challenged and he shrugged.
“So are you.” He returned and you gave a scoff of a laugh.
“Barty, we're kids. There are a million girls witches and non pureblood that you could be pining over. Some you haven't even met yet.”
He leaned back slightly, crossing his arms defiantly as if he were preparing for a debate. “But I’m not pining over them, am I? I’m pining over you. You’re the one I want to be with.”
“You're a brute!” You huffed.
“Not with you.” He defended slyly.
“You've clearly lost it years ago.”
“When you first told me no, I remember the date down to the time you said it.”
“Horseradish.”
“I do!” He shot back, leaning closer. Both of your body languages creating a small chorus of squeaking chairs. “December 12th, it was your Lunch hour and I was skipping study hall. You were wearing your tie with the tag out and was trying to fix it when I asked. You had a red ribbon in your hair. It was 12:36 exactly.”
Your jaw dropped a bit. You hadn't even thought he noticed you before that stupid declaration.
You stammered for a moment before you gathered yourself. “Barty, you hardly know me.”
“I know everything about you! You're the one thing I study in this bloody school!”
You felt a mixture of warmth and confusion swirling within you. Barty’s intense gaze was unwavering, and you could see the sincerity in his eyes. “But this is all so… drastic. We haven't even dated!”
“So why don't we?” He shot back, a hint of frustration creeping into his voice. Both of you shooting back retorts so quickly you didn't have time to think before you shot back.
“Because you haven't asked! You just keep asking to marry me!”
Barty’s eyes widened slightly as he processed your words, and then a broad grin broke across his face. “Is that what this is about? You want me to ask you out first? Why didn’t you just say so?”
You blinked, caught off guard by his sudden change in tone. “I-” You stammered, feeling the heat in your cheeks worsen. “I mean, yes! I want to date someone first, not just jump to marriage! That's comment ritual I fear.”
“Right, right!” He nodded enthusiastically, leaning forward as if he were about to make a grand announcement. “Then let’s date! How about I take you to Hogsmeade this weekend? We can have a proper outing, just you and me. No more silly declarations of marriage until we’ve had our first date.”
You sighed and rubbed your face. Would you really do this?
There was a long pause, but Barty stared at you with a patient and sweet look.
You couldn’t help but feel a flutter of excitement. The thought of going out with Barty felt both thrilling and terrifying. “You’re serious about this, aren’t you?” You whispered, searching his face for any signs of a joke- what a long prank if so.
“Absolutely.” He nodded, his voice steady. “I want this. So bad. I think it’s time we stop playing these games. I mean it when I say I want to be with you.”
You looked down, contemplating his words. The idea of spending time with Barty outside of the usual chaos made your stomach flip. “Alright,” you finally said, trying to keep your tone light. “Let’s do it. But you have to promise to behave and not start any fights.”
“Deal.” His grin widening.
“And… I was sweets.”
“Anything.”
“Chocolate frogs. And more of those muggle chocolates you snuck in too.” You pushed and he laughed.
“I did say anything. I mean anything. I'll bring you a Graphorn if you're patient enough.” His voice was determined and serious.
“... fine.” You whispered with a sigh, giving into it all.
Barty had been ecstatic the second you agreed. He was charming and polite the whole time, an absolute darling.
Though, the second the date ended, his questions came back with more vigor. You couldn't help but enjoy it, knowing your future husband was so horribly whipped.

“Back the fuck off.”

Summary: you and Regulus recently broke up over stupid teenage reasons. It was a really bad fight and you two haven't spoken since, though both regret your actions. At a Gryffindor house party, he spots you kissing Mathew smith, the Gryffindor seeker, who Regulus absolutely despises.
Pairing: Regulus Black x Gryffindor!reader
Warnings: swearing, kissing, fighting, a bit of sexual assault.

⬇️unamused⬇️

Regulus stands at the drinks table with Barty as they are being pure Slytherins looking around with judging and cold looks. Neither of them wanted to come to said party, but Evan -who was currently participating in a round of beer pong- insisted they went.
His eyes travel the crowd and he spots them, making him narrow his eyes. He knew she was doing it to spite him, he knew even she hated Smith, but there she was, sticking her tongue down his throat.
"Ohh, she is playing with fire." Barty seemed to start enjoying the party the moment he followed Regulus gaze. "Shut the hell up." Regulus head snapped towards him and then his eyes traveled back to the girl and that stupid idiot she was kissing.
His hands where slowly starting to roam under her clothes and that's when he couldn't take it anymore and pushed himself of the table making his way towards them.
- 15 minutes earlier -
"They are absolute morons." Y/n shook her head as she watched Sirius and James jump of the table they'd just been dancing on. "Tell me about it." Remus rolled his eyes.
She took a sip of her drink as she watched the boys make their way over to them. "Oh, their coming pretend you don't know them." Peter said and they all quickly avoided eye contact with the two boys. "Oh haha, you're so funny." Sirius said sarcastically.
His eyes fell on Y/n and they narrowed. "Boring again, I see." He said as he eyed the glass with clear liquid in her hands. "But thinking about it, I could use some water," he took it out of her hands and a horrified expression formed on her face.
"Sirius no wait-" but she was to late and he took a sip and moments later spit it out, coughing. "Y/n, you absolutely menace to society." He said handing the glass back to her.
"Are you alright, pads?" James asked laughing. "I am, but she isn't, what psychopath just casually sips straight vodka." He grimaces and James' eyebrows race.
"What? It's good, you're all just over dramatic." She said taking another sip, making Peter chuckle a bit, as he himself had made that same mistake before.
They all looked up at the sound of the portrait swinging open and watched an excited Evan and annoyed Barty and Regulus walk into the common room.
Y/n rolled her eyes, and then they landed on someone and a smirk formed onto her face. "Y/n, no." Remus said and she looked at him. "What do you mean no?" She asked.
"Regulus just walked in and your wearing that smirk? Whatever your planning, no." He said and she rolled her eyes and giggled. "It's just a bit of fun." She said, standing up to leave the couch and pushing the glass into Sirius' hands.
"Here, you can have that." She says and he looks at it in disgust. "No thanks." And puts it down.
"Smith, hey." She greats the seeker and he turned to her. "Y/n, looking ravishing as always." He said with a shit eating grin as he looked her up and down and stopped at her chest.
She would slap him in the face if it wasn't for her plan just unfolding:
Make Regulus as jealous as possible.
"I can say the same about you." She said, her words slightly slurring. Smith took a step closer, snaking an arm around her waist. Everyone in Hogwarts who had a brain knew he had liked her since fourth year, which was one of the reasons Regulus despised him, but also the other way around.
Everyone in Hogwarts with a brain also knew Smith was an actual, selfish, prick. He had a reputation of cheating, one girl even claimed he had cornered her once, but no one knew if it was true, as she had a reputation of lying.
"I heard your single now." He grinned as he pulled her closer, his breath smelled like alcohol. "It was such a shame you where with... him." He sounded disgusted at the last words.
She let out a sarcastic laugh, starting to maybe regret her decision a little bit... but only a little.
"Well, that's over now... sooo." She trailed her finger passed his white button up. She looked up at him and he smashed his lips against hers, she pulled him closer, deepening the kiss.
Her eyes fluttered open to look around the room and they landed on Regulus who wasn't looking at her as his eyes traveled around the room, but she could see them slowly make their way over to them and she closed her eyes again as Smith tongue slipped into her mouth.
They broke apart for a moment before they kissed again and slowly his hands started to travel, one slipping into her skirt and the other under her top.
His lips detached from hers and made their way to her neck and then he whispered in her ears. "Seeing such a beautiful girl like you with a Slytherin. Tsk, I'll show you what it's like to be with a real guy." He whispered before going back to kissing her neck and his hand suddenly slipped into her panty's.
She was taken by surprise but before she could do anything about it, someone else did.
Regulus had made his way trough the crowd, pushing people aside and watching as Smith went further into her skirt and kissing her neck, it made his blood boil.
"Back the fuck off." He said and Smith looked up and grinned, taking his hand out of her skirt, and Regulus almost thought she looked relieved.
They made eyes contact and he narrowed his eyes at her. "What do you want." She said, obviously with alcohol in her system. "Indeed, what do you want?" Smith asked as he put and arm around her waste and his finger tips rested under the band of her skirt.
"I want you, to get your filthy hands of her." Regulus said with a threatening tone. "And why would I do that? Such a pretty girl, and she isn't yours anymore? I wouldn't even have cared is she still was, I had plans anyway." He laughed dryly and Y/n looked rather horrified as she questioned if that would have been against her will.
"Leave her alone." Regulus demanded and Smith smirked. "And why would I do that, she seemed to be rather enjoying me."
Suddenly, Y/n started to really regret her decision, and grabbed his wrist to stop him from going any further. "What is it baby, you don't like it?" He asked and she sighed and squeezed her eyes shut.
"Stop, I want you to stop." She told him and he huffed. "You don't tell me when to stop." He said and pulled the hand on his wrist away with his other hand.
She knew she had gotten herself in this situation, it was her own fault, but now she really wanted to get out. Suddenly he let go of her and Y/n hadn't processed the sickening crack.
Regulus had punched him right in the nose and blood was rapidly streaming out. His grey eyes fell on Y/n who stared shocked.
He grabbed her arm and then dragged her out of the common room and eventually stopped in a hallway.
"What is wrong with you?" He asked angrily. "Do you know how much worse that could have been?" He asked, he was furious as he turned his back to her.
"Honestly, Y/n that was such a stupid move! And for what? Making me jealous? Well it worked, happy now?" He turned to her as he yelled, but stopped as he watched her.
Her hands where shaking and tears streamed down her face. His features softened as he walked towards her and took her hands in his, placing a soft kiss on each of them.
"It's alright." He whispered to her and she shook her head. "No, no it's not, I'm so sorry, it was a stupid move. I didn't think it trough." She said as more tears streamed down her face and she sniffed as her nose was now full and starting to run.
He wiped away the tears with his sleeve and kissed her on the forehead. "It's alright, Ma Cherie." He whispered as he hugged her. "Come, you need to get some sleep." He said and then led her over to the Slytherin dorms.
She was sitting on his bed as Regulus took a T-shirt and sweatpants out of his closet. He hands rested on her top and then looked at her. "May I help you here?" He asked and she nodded.
"Use your words, darling." He said softly, he always requested she used words when asking for her permission to do things like this, as he didn't want her to regret later.
"Yes." She croaked out and he slowly lifted it over her head and helped her pull the clean shirt over her head. He did the same with the pants and then tucked her into his bed.
He changed out of his clothes to, and joined her, pulling her into him and kissing her forehead. "I love you, my little dove." He said and she murmured something along the lines of "I love you too." Back before falling asleep.

“This…was a bad idea,” Barty murmured to Regulus, who was swiping away on his phone carelessly, a stony look on his face.
“What? Matching tattoos?” he asked, ice-gray eyes narrowing as he stared at him.
“No,” he replied, snorting. “Getting them here.”
“Why?”
Why, indeed.
At first, it seemed like a great idea. A new tattoo place had opened just down the street from their apartment and he and Regulus had been talking about getting matching tattoos for ages. It wasn’t like it was a horrifying concept. Barty’s body was littered with ink-skulls, daggers you name it-and he cared about Regulus more than life itself, so the concept made sense.
But as soon as he walked into the shop and made eye contact with the absolutely stunning man behind the counter, his knees almost gave out. And suddenly, he couldn’t help but allowing his mind to run wild.
“Because…”
“Because that tattoo artist’s exactly your type and you’re having trouble keeping it in your pants?” Regulus asked bluntly, eyes back on his phone screen. “C’mon, Barty. Have some self-respect.”
He swallowed roughly.
But then the man walked into the waiting room again, a smirk on his face, and said, “First victim?”
And Barty shot up out of his chair so fast that he knocked it over.
Regulus gave him a deadpan look, rolled his eyes, and turned back to his phone.
The tattoo artist snorted and jerked his head, indicating Barty could follow him.
Mortified, Barty righted the chair and did as he was told, entering the small room where the man had set up. Hesitantly, he sat on the tattoo bed, mouth watering as his eyes roved over the man.
“I’m Evan,” the man said, sending him a grin. “I’ve never had someone so eager for me to stab them before.”
Barty couldn’t help but beam. “Anyone who looks like you can stab me anytime,” he replied, deciding to throw shame out the window.
Evan, who had been readying his equipment, paused, eyes slowly looking over Barty’s frame, making him grow warm. “Let’s see how well you take this,” he replied, lip curling as he waved a tattoo needle in front of Barty’s face. “Then I might hold you to that.”
Barty had never sat more still for a tattoo in his life.
