CG Liu Kang & Kung Lao w/ Regressor Cole (Fic)

"You think they'll improve?" Liu Kang asked, swinging his legs, keeping the fire in his hand steady. Kung Lao and him were sitting on the ledge, a light night hangout. The fire was their only main source of light with how dark it was. "I mean, in time to fight for the tournament?"

"They better! They're like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off," Kung Lao huffed. ". . . Kanos a bitch."

"Kung Lao! . . . Yeah, he is," Liu Kang quietly agreed. "He's so- So cocky!"

"But he was able to open his powers first," Kung Lao admitted. "I mean, with some personal help, but still. I just had to set him in his place!"

Liu Kang rolled his eyes, "You didn't set him in his place, you belittled him."

"Yeah, yeah, hey if I hadn't, we wouldn't have gotten helped unlocked his-"

There was a shuffle behind him. Both men quickly turned towards the sound, making the person squeak in the darkness. Cole quietly walked out, looking a bit nervous and guilty for being up so late. Not that there was a set bedtime, which was why Liu Kang and Kung Lao were hanging out. But all three boys really should be asleep.

"Cole? What are you doing up so late?" Liu Kang asked.

"Couldn't sleep," Cole shrugged, huddled up in his blanket. 

Kung Lao motioned him over. Cole quickly waddled towards the fire, smiling happily as Liu Kang put it close, although not dangerously close, to him. It was cold at the temple, mostly at night. Cole was happy he thought to bring blankey- He meant, his blanket, along.

Right now was a terrible time to slip. His training wasn't improving, he wanted to go home, Kano was so mean at times. Everything was piling up, one on top of another! If he was going to slip, he thought late at night would be the best. When everyone was asleep and couldn't make fun or laugh at him. Or, everyone was supposed to be asleep.

"Come, sit with us," Liu Kang said, patting beside him. He grew the fire in his hands, sitting in between Cole and Kung Lao so all three could share the fire. "Did you wake up from a nightmare? Or just tossing and turning?"

"Tossin' an turnin'," Cole said, huddling against Liu Kang. Liu Kang didn't mind, his body temperature was warmer than others. "Whatcha talkin' about?"

"Psh, Kano," Kung Lao rolled his eyes, receiving a glare from Liu Kang. "I mean, we weren't not talking about Kano!"

"Just about the fact he unlocked his power," Liu Kang corrected him, he watched Cole deflate slightly. He looked almost like a kicked puppy. "I'm sure you'll unlock yours in time."

Kung Lao laughed, "Yeah, maybe I'll have to make you angry too! Man, his face was so funny when he got mad, he-"

"Lao," Liu Kang lectured, motioning to a sad Cole.

"I mean, in due time, Cole," Kung Lao smiled. "First you must improve to defeat us in a fight! You'll have a good chance after that."

Cole stayed pretty silent after that, but his mood seemed to improve as they went to other topics. He didn't want to talk about fighting while he was small, or, not about him fighting. He liked the stories Kung Lao began to tell, of ancient heros and his own battles. Which Liu Kang would roll his eyes to and claim he was exaggerating. 

Although Kung Lao and Liu Kang noticed small things. His speech patterns weren't as they usually were. He mostly gave small words, or struggled with some pronunciation. He also called Liu Kang, Liu. And Kung Lao, Lao. They weren't new to the nicknames, since they called each such titles. But both boys also used the names when they were small. They didn't take Cole for a regressor, but it was a good guess.

"Whatcha staring at?" Kung Lao, sitting forward. Cole had been staring at him for some time. And if he didn't think it was a child stare, one that usually indicates they want something, he'd probably be questioning him.

"Hat," Cole pointed.

"Wanna touch it?" Kung Lao offered, unclipping his hat. He normally wouldn't let another person touch his hat, let alone someone regressed. But they were both supervising him, he couldn't get that hurt, right?

"Lao, he could hurt himself," Liu Kang lightly lectured. Cole deflated at the concern. Liu Kang was usually a sucker for puppy eyes. "Well- Okay, but we've gotta be really safe while holding it. It's really easy to cut yourself."

"He'll be safe, he has the Great Kung Lao helping him," Kung Lao rolled his eyes, moving and sitting at Cole's side, making the boy sit between them. "Here, let's hold it like this."

Cole awed at the hat, happily showing it to Liu Kang. He wasn't touching the sides, thankfully. Instead both his hands were under the hat, and Kung Lao kept a hand there too just in case. He didn't mean to act so childish around the two, he wanted to hide his regression from his friends. But neither of them looked at him funny. In fact, they seemed to encourage his playfulness.

"Wear it?" Cole asked, kicking his feet slightly. "Oh! Um, pease wear it?"

"Well you asked so nicely. . . Sure, want me to clip it on?" Kung Lao asked. Cole giggled happily, nodding quickly. "Alright, stay still you little monkey."

"I thought I was a monkey," Liu Kang laughed. Kung Lao was always great with regressors, more of the playful side. Liu Kang was also quite good at playtime, but he'd admit that Lao was always a bit. Although that might be biased from the amount of times they'd babysit each other.

"Eh, you're both monkeys," Kung Lao shrugged as he clipped the hat on Cole. "There! Now be careful where you turn your head, you could seriously hurt someone."

"Mhm," Cole nodded, seeming to try to be careful as he went to snuggle Liu Kang's arm.

"Woah woah! You can't hug my arm with the hat on," Liu Kang backed away slightly. "You might cut my neck, and that wouldn't be fun."

"Lao does," Cole pouted, holding onto Liu Kang's arm still. Although trying to keep the hat away from him.

"Well, Lao's been training with the hat for years," Liu Kang tried to convince him. "Plus you're too little to be wearing to anyhow. We really should have put the rubber protection on it."

"Noooo!" Kung Lao whined. "I hate that thing!"

"It's safer around regressors, Lao," Liu Kang shook his head. "Seriously, you act like such a child some times."

". . . More than Kano?" Kung Lao joked, causing both boys to laugh.

Cole tensed at Liu Kang's words. They knew? They both knew? No, they weren't supposed to know! No one was supposed to see him little. What if they told Raiden? He didn't really want to be here anyways, he missed his wife and daughter. But he wanted to prove that he was supposed to be here. What if they told Kano? He'd never let it go! And he'd be so mean and rude and call him name and-

"Too little?" Cole frowned. "I- I dunno what you mean. I'm not little, I'm very big- I mean-"

"Hey, we get it," Kung Lao lightly shook Cole's shoulder. "You're a very big boy, you're wearing that hat. Little ones shouldn't be wearing something so dangerous."

"Except you," Liu Kang teased.

"I won't share my food with you tomorrow," Kung Lao threatened, causing Liu Kang to eye roll. "It's getting pretty late, don't you think? Should we head in for the night?"

"It's not that late," Liu Kang frowned. Kung Lao motioned to Cole, and he quickly got the hint. "Actually, we do have a full day of training tomorrow."

"Don't pout so much, we'll tuck you in," Liu Kang offered, grabbing Cole's hand with the one that wasn't producing fire.

"Don't need to be tucked in," Cole huffed. Kung Lao laughed and grabbed Cole's other hand.

"Sure, sure, let's get you tucked in for sleepy time," he said. Cole grumbled, but let the two lead him back to the sleeping corners.

Cole didn't like Kano's snoring. Or how Sonya woke up as they passed by, only to grumble and fall back asleep when she noticed it was them.

But he did like how gentle Liu Kang and Kung Lao were. They knew, they so knew. But they were being very nice. 

Kung Lao took his hat back, much to Cole's complaint. Kang Lao tucked him in. Liu Kang tried to help, but there was only so much he could do with one hand. He didn't want to burn Cole by accident. Cole felt incredibly sleepy, drowsy hitting him as he was tucked in.

"Ni ni, Lao," Cole yawned. "Ni ni, Liu."

"Sleep well," Liu Kang kissed his thumb, pressing it to Cole's forehead. Cole giggled at the action, looking at Kung Lao expectedly.

"Night Cole," Kung Lao smiled, repeating Liu Kang's action. "We'll see you in the morning, okay?"

Mhm," Cole hummed sleepily, struggling to keep awake.

Liu Kang and Kung Lao slowly, and quietly, left the room. The three would have much to speak about tomorrow.

"You think he's gonna cry?" Liu Kang frowned as they walked to their sleeping cordors.

"You cried when I found out," Kung Lao gently nudged him.

"I'll burn you!" Liu Kang threatened.

Both boys glared at each other before bursting into laughter.

The morning would be a fun conversation.

Don't like this one very much, but it's been in my drafts for a super, super long time (I wrote it before the Regressor Mileena w/ CG Tanya one but hated it so I put it in a file I never looked at).

I like the 2021 Movie though, it's pretty cool. So why not publish it? :3

Ninjago is never something we've talked about on this blog Ever, but it's a show we really enjoy and I wanted to share one of our recent headcanons that is definitely self-indulgent and 100% projecting onto Lloyd because he's our precious little baby and we love him (should out to our in-sys Lloyd introject, leaf's the best <33)

Lloyd would 100% be an age regressor, likely regresses to age 5-8. The poor boy never had a proper childhood, and that really shows when you take a closer look at how he responds to certain situations in the show. I mean, his mom left him in a twisted boarding school where he had to fend for himself way more than he should've. Even when he joined the ninjas, he almost immediately found out that he was the green ninja who had to fight his father to the death (someone that he heavily admired and wanted to be like growing up). Not only did he have to mentally mature quicker than average kids, he physically grew up into a young adult overnight to save the other ninja. Lloyd missed out on his entire childhood, so I think it would be fair to headcanon him as a regressor.

The ninja crew would definitely be aware of this, and they would love him just as much as they do when he's big. They'd each have their own little ways of taking care of him, too. Zane would cook his comfort meals for him, Cole would buy him snacks and sing out-of-key lullabies that make him laugh more than fall asleep, Jay would watch his favorite shows and movies with him and help him pick out the perfect stuffed animal buddy, Pixal would help him with any tasks he may be struggling with while regressed, and Kai and Nya would be there to protect and defend him just like they did for each other. They likely won't understand at first, but would accept this part of Lloyd just as easily as any other part of him.

Alastor with a fem baby regressor

Sorry for the late response, I slept a bit later today :) (I hope you mean headcanons, I just realized you didn’t specify!)

CG! Alastor with a fem baby regressor <3

One (yes, one, he has more) of Alastor’s favorite things to do with you is dress up. Every morning, he gently wakes you up by kissing your head and get down on his knees to put you in old-timey maroon dresses. (Unless you’d prefer another color, which he’d gladly oblige and probably get at least 6 more dresses in that color for you)

He loves to feed you. Setting you down on his lap and softly tipping the bottle into your mouth. Alastor very much appreciates the domestic side of things, so having a little one without going through the hassle of having a partner or making one with them, is a very nice change of pace.

Barely any TV. If you really insist, he’ll let you watch some. But on the old TV, and none of Vox’s stuff. That’ll rot your brain. Spoiled, but in a different way. You have Alastor’s almost constant attention. “Oh, there’s a leak? One moment, my little love needs to finish her bottle.” Much to..most of the hotel’s slight annoyance. He refuses leave you alone. “Leave my little one home? Oh, what nonsense! If I can take her with me, why should I risk her discomfort?” When he has a broadcast to do, he’ll give you a pacifier and rock you in his arms as he goes on about whatever. Softly patting your head in between his music breaks.

On his strolls, he props you up with blankets and pillows in your stroller and your favorite stuffy if you have one. If not, he just brings a couple. He loves showing you off to the other residents in cannibal town. “Isn’t she just a doll? My lovely fawn.” The only other person who’s held you is Auntie Rosie. He doesn’t trust anyone else to do it right.

If you occasionally cause mischief, he likes to watch from the shadows and chuckle unless it becomes a real problem. Then he morphs in front of you and gets down to your level to talk to you. “Dearie, there’s a reason Papa and the others told you not to touch that. It could get you very hurt, Cher. Come on, let’s go read a story to take your mind off this, alright? Papa got you some new books.”

Bed time stories! Always. And if no books seem appealing to you, he’ll turn on the radio and play a story on there. (I feel like he’d play ‘The pirate of New Orleans’, it should be on YouTube, that’s where i watched it)

On the subject of radios, he loves to play you music! (For specifics, I’d say ‘Let’s Misbehave’ by Cole Porter and Irving Aaronson Commanders, and ‘The Birth of the Blues’ by Paul Whiteman and his orchestra, Charles Gaylord, Austin Skin Young, and Jack Fulton) He’ll sing along and loves if you try to sing or hum with him. “Yes, very good, my lovely! Oh you sound just wonderful!”

While he would rather not have anyone touch him, you are his exception. You wanna climb on his shoulder and play with his hair? Absolutely, as long as you don’t fall! You wanna lay down and play with his tail? Of course, just don’t tug too hard! You wanna cling to him like your life depends on it? Why not?

Baby babbles are the cutest thing to Alastor! “Ah, really? Hmm! How interesting! Won’t you go on, my dear?” He actually listens intently, curious if he can hear anything resembling a certain word and base his response off of that.

He never thought he’d be the best with kids, but he’ll certainly try for his little sweetheart. He finds almost everything you do incredibly charming and will not take anyone saying otherwise seriously even for a moment. “Oh, please! She’s just a little thing, you can’t blame her for anything. Especially not with her darling little antics!”

🎂 — regressor cole headcanons!

the rock of the group deserves to have some small time sometimes. what more can i say? rocks can crack too, specially ninja rocks (。-`ω-)ｰ

stress regressor, 100%. he rushes to be the responsible one of the team whenever something goes wrong, worries himself sick over mistakes, pushes himself to make up for them no matter what bc if he doesn't something could go wrong again and someone could get hurt and then his friends won't like him anymore– and all that weight on his shoulders is rough

all of the ninja r his caregivers to some capacity. every single one. all of them r strong too – kinda comes w being elemental masters / ninja n all – so they can carry him whenever they want <33 cole loves it too, they're so cozy (o^∀^o)

i don't think wu or misako know directly, but if cole ever told / regressed around them, they wouldn't be v surprised – like they know smth is up, but they won't confront him bc that's his business

lots of ppl hc cole having a kindergarten to middle / teen regressor headspace & that's SO big-brained, i eat it up every time – BUT baby cole my sweet sweet boy. infant ages to like 2yrs old. give him a rattle; he likes rattles kenwkdek

the eepiest baby ever, partially bc of how young his headspace is, partially bc he's the master of earth – it takes up a lot of his energy when he's big, but since he's so used to it, it doesn't rlly register how wiped he actually is until he's sitting down, his brain is whirling to a stop ... & then it's like “mmnn woa m eepy..” hes also very prone to regressing when he's tired; doesn't happen all the time, but it's become more often than not

(jay has, in fact, taken a picture of a sleeping cole on the couch, meme-ified it w the “why he so eepy” caption , & sent it to the gc. they went loco /pos)

on that note, he can fall asleep p much anywhere: on the couch, on the floor, over a bowl of cereal, literally anywhere. his favorite places (aside from his bed) r his friends' laps <3 he's being held? out like a light

that earth master strength Does Not magically go away when cole is small, meaning his tantrums could cost them a wall & possibly new flooring. not that he has tantrums often bc he's v chill & low-energy!

(... it happened once & jay refused to babysit for a good week. for unrelated reasons ofc /j)

OOUHEJSH loves bears sooooo much it's almost silly. he's got a black bear onesie w ears on the hood, a tiny tail on the butt, & a dark brown teddy bear to match - his fave. "we bare bears" & "little bear" are his go-to shows. he can devour a box of teddy grahams in two sittings. glamrock freddy his absolute beloved. bears bears BEARS bears bears!!!!

kai called himself a papa bear once & cole went nuts jahdkajdkw “’apa bear ’apa bear!!!! ʕ￫ᴥ￩ ʔ” — “yup, that's me, don't wear it out! (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧”

ok guys wait here me out: bearcub regressor cole. makin grororgroo noises to communicate. cute little snuffles n nose wrinkles when he smells smth good. loooong naps in a blanket fort. honey added to his bottle. bearcub regressor cole

the teddy's name is muffin btw. he & mr. cuddlywump are best friends & they always have playdates together 🫶

speaking of — jay is older than cole by a few years (maybe 4-7?), so he's consistently playing the older playmate / big brother role for cole. YES he will absolutely drag the baby into mischief, but if anyone dares to try separating them he IS throwing a fit about it. also he's the only one who can turn a laid-back baby cole into a zoomin 2y/o. watch out for them.../silly

back to the rattle thing for a sec – jay has a toy drumset & nya has a toy guitar, so the three of them put on a music show for the rest of the team! they're always asked for encores & they always deliver! their band name is The Mudshockers & kai is their biggest fan👍🏾

he likes dancing but since he's unsteady on his feet the younger he is, sometimes he'll just sway his body o, bop his head, or shake his rattle to whatever beat there is – even if said beat is just in his head. other times he'll get nya or zane to dance with him when he's able to stand!

omigosh wait ,,,, zane picking cole up & bouncing him to the beat ,,,, im gonna MELT they're so cute 🥹

cole adores fuzzy / fluffy material. his element requires him to summon rocks from the ground, & rocks are hard - he deserves some soft things in his life ( =^×^= )/ᰔᩚ if any of the ninja have something visibly fluffy in his presence, they'll very quickly have a small in their lap, nuzzling them & humming contentedly. muffin & his bear onesie r his favorites because of that!

ALSO remember the casual outfit he wore in "child's play" (the ep where the ninja got turned into kids)? he managed to find the adult-sized sweatshirt of that shirt & it's now a staple regression outfit ... whenever he's not in his onesie

he's still got a MASSIVE sweet tooth, bc who would cole be w/o it? (/j) ,, the only difference is that, instead of it manifesting in “oooo chocolate cake & cookies & ice cream!!!” it manifests as “mmm baba w sugar n hunny.....” – not to say cole doesn't have his moments where he craves a cakepop over warm chocolate milk. zane usually is in charge of preparing his bottle bc he always gets it juuuust right

THE NINJA HAVE A BABY BAG IN CASE HE DROPS ON LONGER MISSIONS AAAAA ,,, cole's a lil embarrassed @ first & fervently insists that he won't be regressing on the mission, but it proves to be incredibly useful when he gets hungry in the middle of like, nowhere & there's a section completely dedicated to snacks & drinks

(... & when cole actually regresses bc of stress / sleepiness & they have the majority of his stuff on-hand)

jay can never escape being called a dingus no matter what. baby cole catches him doing something stupid? “ ‘ingus...”. a joke too corny for his taste? “ ’inguuus.” jay complains abt this unfair treatment, how he's being bullied by a baby & he is slandering him ... but no one comes to his aid. zane'll scoop up cole & say “hm, are you sure that was an unprovoked statement on his part?” while kai will just spout nonsense like “wooooow jay ... a power outage in ninjago city and bordering countries?” by your hands?” w/ lloyd n nya just shaking their heads. jay's like “GAAAAAAAASP, NOBODY is on my side??? coco is being a BULLY & you guys are just ALLOWING it???? i see how it is.......”. cole's laughing hysterically throughout all of this 🫶

honestly jay's the funniest person to cole when he's small. he could be being Himself & cole's losing his mind over it. nobody can compete against his hilarity no matter how hard they try. best way to tell when cole's dropping is if he's laughing way harder at one of jay's stupid jokes /silly

mmmhmdhsjshsi ,,, jay coming up w the nickname "coco" & callin him that as a joke while he's big, but cole just gets super fuzzy-brained bc ,,,,,,,, coco ........ ohohohohoh ,,,,,,, & jay is like “oh! mkay then!” now he uses it all the time when he's regressed hdksjdk

ON THAT NOTE, nya came up w "pebble", & just like "coco", it spread to the rest of the team like butter on a warm stack of pancakes. nowadays they very rarely use "cole" when he's small – why should they, when they have "pebble" & "coco" under their belts!

... kai calls him "coco pebble(s)" sometimes 🫢

spoiled to the max. he breaks the handle to his paci? don't worry, zane just ordered 6 more. he loses a stuffie? jay's giving 3 of his to him. he's hungry? nya's got several different flavors of milk in one arm & baggies filled with teddy grahams in the other. absolutely spoiled rotten

he doesn't have any of those fancy deco pacis bc hes v prone to dropping them in his sleep & doesn't wanna mess them up, so he gets the printed designed ones or the plain-colored ones & slaps some stickers on them :] he rlly likes his black-stickered paci but he's not picky!

lloyd loves joking abt how he's no longer the youngest on the team whenever cole drops. he'll walk into the room & say “guys, i'm not the youngest anymore!” without warning while cole's in his arms, half asleep w a paci

sometimes he feels like he shouldn't be regressing bc of his status as "the rock of the group" & gets hit with an influx of negative thoughts. like – he's their anchor, their strength, the glue that holds everyone together when things go south ... so what is he doing regressing of all things? if they don't have a rock, the team won't make it! all of that negativity :( hes prone to pushing down his regression & busies himself w other things until he just ... breaks. wooo :((

after day of the departed (read: cole gets his physical body back), he literally launches himself into his friends & snuggles them like there's no tomorrow in sight. for a good two weeks he's the clingiest baby boy to ever exist: holding everyone's hands, leaning against the nearest person, cuddling, sleepy cuddling – the most common occurrence bc sleepy cole is sleepy. GOODNESS hes so clingy!! if he's in the right (or ig wrong) mood he gets fussy if his human pillow moves away from him kdnfoendk. nobody minds at all; they got their baby boy back & that's all that matters <3

self-indulgent pkmn au hc: cole's midnight lycanroc may look scary (...and kind of is hssjskdje), but it's soooo sweet & gentle with him omg. it has special mittens it puts on its paws to keep from accidentally hurting him w its claws & 100% will help zane make a bottle or lloyd prepare a snack. the fur on its neck is mad fluffy - there have been many, many times someone's walked in on cole with his face stuffed in lycanroc's fur, fast asleep on its back while roc's layin there with him, tail slowly awag <3
